I hate to leave bad reviews on small businesses but after the experience myself and my friends have the odds myself or anyone we know will go back is low. The drinks were over priced and mine tasted awful almost like the mixer was expired. I was harassed by the bar tender about being underage which is not true, I told them to call the cops and have them look up my ID and they backed off. Security has no professionalism and will call you a liability for no reason, if you want a bad experience with strangers being nicer than the employees you will love it here but don’t expect to be safe! I will be going to other places that have great kind bartenders, and security that don’t have bad attitudes and are accusative threats from employees is unacceptable! And I’m sure the “owner” will leave a comment and not be much help on this review as I have read other! What could have been a fun night and more fun nights to come at twist turned in to a top tier nightmare. If I want to be accused of being under age or on drugs like I was I will go to a frat basement because they have more manors than anyone who works here.
I have been here twice with my wife, the atmosphere has always been great. The patio is perfect for a night out. The owner kirk introduced himself and was very pleasant. We never tried the food, so maybe next time well do that. Thanks for being so courteous
Didn’t eat any food just went for the nightclub. Not impressed with the fact that gratuity was added into every tab. There’s a little sign behind the bartender that tells you that. The Waitress that serve the first two rounds did not make us aware of that and we were not given a receipt. So we where tipping between 30-40% Ordering from the bartender, I did not give an additional tip because the 20% was added in I saw the receipt. He did call me over and ask me why he wasn’t given more of a tip. So unprofessional and weird. Now you are informed. Maybe I’ll go back one day for food. The waitress said they had awesome tacos.
Went there and got charged $30 just to get in. Not happy with the entry fee and the fact they are sexist and charge men $20 and women $10. I do not like this practice it’s very bad and I would love a refund. Also there is no bar I’ve been to that take Gratuity right away. What if the service is shitty. Bad business practice I would like some kind of refund I wasn’t happy.
So much fun! Went for Tacos & Margs bar crawl and they had a DJ outside throwing down awesome tunes! Tacos were good and drinks were great! The manager Kirk came by and was super nice! Would def recommend and go back another time!
Excellent. Friendly staff, considerate and attentive. Fantastic menu. Went for their Mother’s Day and was blow away by the selection. Great prices, I appreciate how they weren’t stingy with any food, it says a lot about the owner, who walks around personally making sure customers are comfortable. Outdoor area is beautiful, dog friendly. They brought out water and treats for my dogs.
I lost my phone here and I realized it the second I left the bar. I tried to come back in to look for it 2 minutes after I left the bar, keep in mind I paid extra money to get in to all floors, and they didn’t let me back in. The bouncer pushed me around and told me he will call the cops if I try to come in when I was crying nonstop about my phone and was clearly struggling. Instead of helping me, they pushed us around and didn’t do anything about it. I told him if he tries to push me out again I will sue him so he stopped. How can you push a couple girls that are clearly struggling? I still stayed respectful (also I was sober) and begged them to let me in, offered them money again to enter but they didn’t so I assumed someone from their team stole my phone or something. One of the security guy made fun of me and told me “yeah you’ll probably never see your phone again” and laughed. They took my friend’s number for details and never called me again or told me any details. This place sucks and never go here with your valuable items. Do better Twist!!! Change your bouncers!! They can’t behave like this to customers and act like they are the police or something.
I have been coming to Twist for a few years now and love it every single time! The staff is amazing and has always watched over me and my friends! When the Patio has a DJ it is such a fun experience! 1 recommendation I have is “Throwbacks on the Patio!” This summer! The DJs used to play a good variety of music and now it’s the same every time I go. Some throwbacks would be nice!! Other than that I will always come to Twist to dance and get drinks!!
The security staff is uncaring and underqualified. If you are experiencing an emergency prepare to be “helped” as the staff complains the whole time and then immediately ditched once they get you outside and are no longer a liability. Drunk strangers on the side of the street care more than the staff that’s supposed to make sure people are safe.
I lost my purse with all my personal items at exchange/twist. I called 20 times with no answer and a full voicemail inbox. I went the next day for them to check their lost and found. Security proceeded to tell me they were too busy to check while talking to their friends. I asked to speak to someone and they told me to come back another day. Overall super unprofessional and not helpful. Extremely rude staff.
Leaving a review all the way from Peoria, IL … what a time we had at Twist! Myself and my family were visiting Utah from Illinois, Cali and Texas for a ski trip, and we stopped at this lounge and had a damn good time! Shoutout to our bartender, Vickie, for being so welcoming, professional, for showing us a good time and for keeping them shots rolling! Shoutout to security too! We love you Utah and we know y’all loved us too. We love you Vickieeee , keep twist alive girl. We’ll be back to turn it up again soon :) - love squaaad
Overpriced drinks I payed 26$ thats for two mixed drinks. That wasn’t including a tip, it wasnt anything fancy. I’ve been to a few spots in the valley and it’s not that much as it at the twist bar, I wouldn’t recommend going. There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes of employees roofing people.
I had a great time there on a Monday night there were not too much activities going on as expected. I went there to try the tri-tip-steak and it really good…It had a game taste like to it and i guess that’s probably because of the type of steak that it is. And also be sure to ask for it the way you like it cook because other-wise you’ll get it automatically cooked med rare. And if you like me you may want it done a little bit more.
The security here needs to be investigated and fired immediately!!! Last night they chased, jumped and robbed my friends! Police are involved and we will not let this go!!!! This place needs to be shut down with all the problems they have caused. Business Bureau will be contacted!
I always have such a great time here. The security up front are always respectful while theyre doing their job as long as youre not being a jerk yourself. The bartenders are a great vibe, and even the people that come here are great. I left my entire wallet at the bar and was pleased to find out it had actually been found and turned in 100% intact.
Zero stars would be sufficient. This bar employs inconsiderate wanna be mall cop little boys. We were in town last weekend and had the worst experience. I have stage 4 breast cancer and while going up the stairs to the front door was told that I was stumbling and was not allowed to go into the bar by one of these little boys. I went through weeks of radiation and have neuropathy in my feet. That isnt the worst part, we were shocked and tried to explain and he yelled at us in front of the whole bar telling us he wasnt listening and we needed to leave while another employee held the door for us to leave. Denying service to people with disabilities. The worst bunch of people. DONT BE A PATRON TO THESE PEOPLE!
I was debating on writing a review but after last nights conversation I have to because it was tacky. We stumbled on this place by accident, it was dead , service was fast and food was okay . The thing that bugged me was the waitress standing there explaining that they add in a pre tip and there’s a percentage that goes to the cooks, security etc then she only gets a small amount and any extra is given to her . As a bartender I know the tip out situation. It’s also tacky and classless to sit in front of me and beg for extra tips . It’s weird and made me uncomfortable. I also was explaining to my husband who did not understand and felt pressured to tip more . This also caused an argument. Then the table gets up to go and the I come out of the bathroom and the waitress is over talking to my husband? You should not flirt with a married man .So just a heads up they add in a tip which I don’t know how or why but teach your employees not to beg for more money .Why would I tip more if you just determined the tip? You never speak about tips to a customer , ever .
This place is disgusting. Their own bartenders are drugging their patrons. The management of this place needs to seriously look after their staff and do a THOROUGH investigation. I won’t be recommending this place any longer to ANYBODY who comes in town to visit.
This place was amazing first time I went clubbing in years and all I got to say is the bartenders the security were on point easy to love I couldnt give you guys a higher rating I would want to but I cant on this page. I would definitely leave$20 tips for the bartenders Everytime I ordered a drink of I didnt care to be broke😜 thanks again.
Right. Start off with location. Whoa. Parking is a little squishy, but really worth the parking Hunger Games. The bar itself is tucked away, set back from the street. Its like stumbling into a slice of the normal world within this city. Beautiful outside, was really anticipating good things. Walking in, greeted by staff clearly happy to be working there. We had nice cocktails and beer, good selection. The food really truly lived up to the gastropub moniker. Incredible. Onion rings. Who gets exited about onion rings. Um.... Yeah. Unicorn slices battered in fairy coating. That alone was worth the parking. Move on to a wildly unexpected treat: deep fried breaded portobello mushrooms. Again, always a risk with fried mushrooms, sometimes watery, sometimes like eating leather. These were sublime. My husband ordered a Mac and cheese burger. Good lord. It was a work of art. Almost a crime to eat it, almost like taking a bite of the Mona Lisa. Incredible. Youd think that was it for a review. Nope. The proverbial cherry on top was meeting one of the owners: Brad. He came over, introduced himself and *sat down to chat with us*. Ok aside from being a super duper person, ok. I can stop there. Super nice guy, clearly passionate about his bar. Highly recommend checking this place out. Shop local-eat local.
I dont tend to leave a lot of online reviews, but I wanted to give a shoutout to the great experience I had here. Im usually a beer drinker, but felt like having a cocktail instead. I asked Carlito for a few suggestions and he was super friendly and helpful. I ended up going with an Old Fashioned, and it was the best one Ive had anywhere. Ill for sure be back again!
Charges a cover when there is nobody there. Beer isn’t overly priced but after getting in I had one beer, got bored, and left. Wouldn’t return, pretty lame bar.
My husband and I came here on a Saturday night and had a great time. There is a dance floor downstairs and sitting areas upstairs you can see the dance floor. The food was delicious and has gluten free options, our server was so sweet. We ordered GF boiled room tacos and GF chicken wings with drinks. The best part is they are dog friendly as well 🐕💕 I would come in earlier on the weekend because the line can get really long later in the night.
Me and my girls had such a fun time last night! We wanna shout out the staff for being so friendly and we wanna give a special shout out to Demetrius for being so respectful during security check! He definitely made us want to come back!
The place is fun! I was only outside. Food is average and price is reasonable. You gotta be careful with the prices tho, I ordered some wings which in the menu were $10 and when the waitress was taking my order she said they were $13 since $10 was a special but the menu didn’t say that, then they wanna charge the service without asking how much you wanna leave as tip, which in my opinion is bothering. Then this waitress brought her manager since I said they needed to respect $10 price for wings, she said it was ok, but I never received my $3 difference back. Anyway I feel that if you’re not attentive to what they’re charging you they will just charge whatever they want, specially in tips. Music was good! Drinks are super small for a high price. I had a captain Morgan with sparkling water and honestly it was really bad, it was just water with a slight taste of rum. For the atmosphere it’s a nice place to go!
We recently held an event at Twist for our professional organization, and it was a great experience. T and her team were fantastic, making sure that we had everything we needed for a successful event. They helped us rethink our plans day of due to weather, kept our guests happy with awesome bar service (thanks Ignacio and his team!), and helped us create a delicious sampling of appetizers. They were responsive, attentive, and flexible. Would definitely host another event here!
Fun place to hang out. Has a rustic industrial feel. I wish the restroom was roomier, especially on crowded nights.Chris is the bartender to ask for, hes pretty fun!During the weekend it can be too crowded, during weekdays, its perfect!Music is great when we went here to dance, mostly throw back songs from 80s-2000s.
I arrived at a slow time for restaurants and bars (@ 4 pm). The patio was big and empty when I arrived, but filled up later. I popped my head in the restaurant and got the attention of the bartender. As I was traveling solo with two large dogs, I couldnt go all the way in. The bartender was wonderful. She brought a water dish for the dogs and refilled it after they slurped it down. The patio was lovely with a soothing water feature next to it. There is a dog relief area immediately across the street with bags and everything. My beer and spinach salad (with Brussels sprouts and portobello mushrooms) were delicious!
Went to Twist for the first time on a Thursday, it was a good night out for sure! Carlito was our bartender he’s the best I’ve seen! Super fast yet so friendly and such a good vibe!
We went for my daughter in laws 30th birthday, and we had sooo much fun. What a great time dancing and just the atmosphere was so good. We got one of the private little rooms with a couch and chairs. Great time!!
This is listed on the crowd sourced site “Bring Fido” as a great place to bring pets (with lots of supporting photos showing happy pups on site) but it is NOT dog friendly. They don’t allow dogs anywhere on the premises, not even outdoors. (See note below)Edited: I’ve (privately) reached out to the owner regarding his comment on my previous post, I’d really like to give this place a try. I’ll update if I hear anything more regarding their dog policy on the patio. (See update below)Edited: I really wanted to love this place! Their motto “safest place in Salt Lake City” is really a great message, unfortunately, after giving Twist another try (thanks to the owner reaching out after my first review) I am unable to. We went back and sat outside, server brought us our drinks and water for our pup. Then we ordered our food (BBQ tips and a shrimp pasta dish) and waited. A while later we were informed that there was no pasta ready and would we mind waiting. “Sure” we said and relaxed while enjoying our drinks. About 45 minutes later the chef came out and nicely apologized saying now that the pasta is ready, there actually isn’t any BBQ tips anywhere and that there was no prep completed and he was all alone. After several hours (and we were trying not to get frustrated with the waitstaff) we decided to eat somewhere else.Ended up getting a microwave meal from Whole Foods. 🙃Thanks Kirk for trying, just didn’t work out. It’s clear that everyone wanted for this to work out, but they weren’t prepared or able to make it possible.
We went to celebrate my birthday and have dinner. The broiler tacos with tri tip steak were delicious and the margaritas were on point!! My mother in law had a blast!! T-daddy took good care of us, service was excellent!!
I have mixed feeling about it overall. It has a great atmosphere for weekend parties outside, and inside is also nice. They automatically charge a 20% tip, even if you order at the bar, which I dont like at all. They have hookahs outside, thats a very nice addition to the place! The main reason that I am giving 3 stars is that they dont allow people to enter in any football, basketball or other sport jersey. I think this is a ridiculous rule that should be change ASAP. It did not happen to me, but I heard multiple people complaining about it and holding their jerseys in their hands since they literally had to take them off in order to enter. Utah is not even a big sports state with some crazy fans, so I see absolutely no reason why this rule exists in the first place.
My friend and i went to twist on thursday night and had the best time. carlito was the only bartender but he really made sure we were taken care of. give this man a raise! super friendly atmosphere and game night was fun too!
We came into Twist on a complete accident and met some AMAZING people with great energy and vibes, we came back the next night and had a great time! Bartender Vickie was the best, gave top of the line service, while tending to us and many other guest! We will definitely be coming back to Twist when we visit Utah again! Shoutout to Vickie and Twist!!
The lady in the front tipped herself without my consent. Everyone in my group paid a different entrance price some were way over charged!
We had a party of 6. We ordered chips and queso. Queso looked like hummus and was not good. Three of the Buffalo chicken wraps were not editable. The sauce that comes on wrap is not ranch. The Vegan burger had no mayo and didn’t come with twice sauce that was requested. Food came in waves not at the same time Waiter never check on us after food was serviced. Would not recommend this place for food.
The bar was really cool and the staff very friendly. I would recommend going for drinks only. The food took ages to come out and half of our order was missing, we had to keep asking for our sides. The waitress offered us a free dessert which was very kind. However it didnt really make up for the quality of the food. Tacos, fries and onion rings were ok but linguine primavera (frozen vegetables and shop bought marinara) and potato salad werent great unfortunately. I would go back for drinks but definitely not food.
Went here and they were the worst of service they took all my cash and acted like they didn’t owe me super akward shady place don’t go!!
T the manager was amazing she did everything she could to make me and my party feel special and we’ll taken care of! Her and her teamMade my birthday spectacular!! I would highly recommend booking your party with twist good food, good service and great music!!
Its a club but if you dance to hard theyll make you say the ABCs or kick you out lol.
What could be good vibes at twist are overshadowed by the owners mistreatment of employees. Its disheartening to witness such behavior, and it significantly detracts from the overall experience. I hope the management addresses these issues for the sake of both customers and staff.
First time there. They had a new first day waitress who obliterated our order and drinks. But she eventually got everything right. I had a pitcher of blue moon and a fully loaded fries (fries cheese feta onions and tri tip beef with an amazing dipping sauce). Everyone had a great time. Food was great. It was a small venue, but was spread out enough we weren’t crowded into anybody. Great place and will go back.
Hey Kirk, why is Rose allowed to start stuff and Other people get Kicked out or arrested because of it?
Marty is literally an angel!!! So respect and always good vibes! He needs a raise!!
Cash-grab excuse of a club that charges cover prices as if you were on the Las Vegas Strip. In reality, its just a restaurant thats pushed their tables to the side & turned on loud music. Pathetic.Dont walk outside to take a phone call, theyll charge you a cover charge again even though you have proof of entry. No reentry they told me. Unbelievable. Not to mention the bartenders will TIP THEMSELVES 20% on everything you order. Place is a joke.Staff is rude and deceptive, especially in line as you walk up to pay. If this operation was anywhere outside of Utah where nightlife pickings are slim, theyd have been out of business years ago. Just avoid. Make peace with the fact this is not a good city to go out in. 0 out of 10
I wanted to say thank you so much to Marty, Christopher, and T (I hope I got the names right!) they took amazing care of my group, and without getting into the whole story, they were all so attentive, watched over us, made sure we were safe, and walked us out to make sure we left safely. Thank you guys so much!
The DJs are terrible. It feels like a 90’s night here every time I come. Whackest oldest music, almost feels intentional. I don’t want to come out and hear T Pain. Do not recommend.Edit -> I can’t make this stuff up, they’re playing Soulja Boy. If I could go less than 1 star, I would. He called himself DJ Banger...
Smalls was absolutely incredible. From accommodating special drink requests to ensuring our cellphones could be charged, his hospitality and service was absolutely impeccable. We’ve never been here before today, and we are so excited to come back for the service provided. Not only is the patio the cutest, their bathrooms are clean and the staff makes you feel so welcome. Thank you Smalls for being the definition of good service and good people! See you again soon!
Best place ever! I had the best time. Such a good atmosphere ☺️
Loved how quick the service was. Got in super fast and the security was very friendly. Thank you Demetrius for being so polite and friendly. Drinks and food were amazing. Definitely coming back
Had such a blast at Twist tonight with some friends! Demetrius was really respectful and extremely helpful. Music was great and drinks were fire!
This place used to be good but now the quality is downhill. Ordered food a few months ago. The fries were old and soggy (how can you even mess up french fries?) Then the other day had another visit. 10$ cover to get in and then get a drink and before even getting done with it, security comes throwing everyone out. At least have the decency to give people 30 mins after last call to finish up. Also, I don’t know how I would feel if I was a female and security was getting into the ladies restroom to push everyone out.
Food was very yummy and atmosphere was nice. Felt like I was in a tavern. Its a good thing they do gratituity because servers/bartenders need to make a living! Brett, our server, was amazing. Gave good reccomendations for drinks, very friendly, and made us feel welcome. Will be coming back again :)
Discussing facilities and even worse service. If you’re not Mexican/spanish speaking don’t go. They’ll make you pay a bigger door cost and the security has “friends” they associate with that will throw you out jusy to make room. Joke of a club.
In SLC for a concert, didn’t know the area well but came in on a Tuesday night, wasn’t packed, although i imagine on a weekend this place is popping! Food was great, drinks were as well. Shout out to Ignacio for holding it down, solid dude!
I meet with my friend once a week. We grab dinner and catch up. Our plan was originally to go to a new place every week for dinner. But once we tried Twist, we stopped going anywhere else and became regulars for the last 5 months. EVERYONE there is great. The security is amazing, and says hi to us every week, our usual server is Miranda, she will come around and say hi as well as be attentive to whatever needs we might need. Brett is the literal best bar tender Ive ever experienced. Hes incredibly easy to get along with, incredibly attentive and shows genuine care for the customers. We stopped going to other places and choose Twist every week, because of Brett. Since the beginning, he and everyone else there, makes us feel very appreciated and welcome every time we walk through those doors. No other place of business can I say the same about.
First time going to Twist last night. Was excited to try this place. The atmosphere was great. The bartender was great but the service otherwise was disappointing. The ladies came on to serve the outdoor patio area but never once came over to us. We had to go to the bar ourselves each time to get service. We also realized after leaving, they auto generated tips on each purchase. They never disclosed this so we ended up leaving double tips. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We should have stayed at Whiskey Street or White Horse which is out favorites and do not do auto generate tips. We will not be back and be for warned about the auto tip.
The Manager T was amazing to say the least. She was very accommodating with our larger party and made sure everything went as smooth as possible. Will definitely recommend this location as long as its under the same management.
I dont usually leave reviews, but I am a regular here every Wednesday. Ive been to every bar on the block and none of them can beat the atmosphere of Twist. They always offer a friendly and exceptional service - and still have a sense of humor unlike the other bars around the corner! Id give a shout out to the staff that make it amazing, but every single one of them treat me as if Im family and make my Wednesdays something to look forward to. Thanks, Twist!
I brought some friends here too see what all the talk was. It was a great time, live dj, dance floor was packed. I was served by Sammy A she was quick to get us our drinks, and did a great job with a big smile. Very welcoming. We are from out of town so she suggested for us to check out the exchange as well on our adventures. Which was also a very cool place. What a great time. Highly recommend.
My girlfriends and I went to the Exchange tonight and had the best time. The venue was so fun! We loved the lights and art on the walls. The service was amazing and Colin was so helpful. He was great at cleaning our glassware out of the way and taking care of us all night. We had the best girls night out with the best service we have had in a while.
Visited from out of town (Ohio) and found the bar online. Walked over to it. It was a week day when I went so I didnt know the basement was closed during the week. The bartender there was amazing! (Cant remember his name but with the mowhawk) I didnt even know SLC had rules about how many drinks you could carry at one time (oops) but he was super nice and explained what the law was, didnt get me in trouble or anything.I was one of 2 people in there at the time. He sat and talked with me and I started asking about the place. I was bummed to find out the basement area wasnt open but he still have me a tour of the basement. Dont know if saying that will get him in trouble, I hope not because I thoroughly enjoyed learned the history of the amazing building! I was bar hoping place to place, intended on moving on to the next place but enjoyed the environment so much I stayed and got food too and finished my night there!I have to visit SLC again for work soon and will make it a point to stop there on the weekend now solely because of the exceptional service he provided for an out of towner! 5 stars! ☆☆☆☆☆
The dog fashion show with brunch was amazing! The food is delicious, which honestly came as a surprise as I typically know this place for the college night-life. I would come back every Sunday for the doggie brunch, 100%. We ordered the loaded fries, chicken wrap and mimosas, all of the options were great.
I used to love Twist, but after my horrid experience with security I will NEVER return. About a year ago, I was randomly attacked at the bottom of the entrance stairs (where security stands) by a man three times my size with a chain wrapped around his fist. The security saw him choose me to attack at random. I begged security to help me but they couldnt do anything since I was technically on city property and not theirs (on the sidewalk RIGHT BY the stairs). He also went on to assault at least 10 people. I get if its protocol, but seriously? They saw a grown man beating on a woman and still refused to help. Their security guards are COWARDS and I personally would never feel safe here. Im sure the owner will reply to this with an excuse about how they arent allowed to do anything off property but cmon. If I would have taken ONE step back I would have been on their property. safest bar in slc my a$$.
Hi I went to your bar last night and am pretty upset about my experience. The cover charge was $20 first off. The bar was sweltering hot like a sauna. It was so hot in there! Hotter than it was outside! I was uncomfortable and hot just waiting to get my drink. I really wanted to have a good time but the heat was unbearable. I don’t think it was worth my $20 cover charge. You guys need to seriously fix your air conditioning situation. That was horrible and dangerous for staff and customers.
Miranda was amazing today! She was so kind in making sure everything was fast and hot. We loved the food and her attitude. She’s got such a sweet personality. You have a great server!
I had dinner @ Twist yesterday and I just love the staff, Jarod especially!! But I got to throw out a special shout-out to Chanse( manager) for going above and beyond. Those who I got the chance to interact with were indeed accommodating and just added personality to the already energized atmosphere. The food was fantastic so props Chef ;)Overall Im infatuated with the joint. 💋
WOW! My girlfriend and I went here last night and we had such an incredible experience! First off, the Twist team is absolutely incredible! They were a lot of fun to talk to and were extremely attentive to our needs. The building is also very cool and worth seeing in itself. Definitely the most unique bar in Salt Lake City in that aspect. The food was good too. They said they are currently revamping their menu to add more intriguing and unique items. I am definitely looking forward to that. Their bar and cocktail selection was also fantastic!Definitely will be back!
Twist is SO much fun! I’m actually new in town, just moved from Nashville, and when I was invited out to dance by one of my coworkers, I was pretty hesitant. We went to Twist and had the best time! The bartender, Myke (with a y not an i), was fantastic! He was so friendly to our group. If you want a good night in salt lake, I’d highly recommend twist.
How do you like your bar food?I could give you two options, one thats obviously good and one that is the opposite. But I wont insult your intelligence, Ill give you the answer. You like it at Twist. The food, drink, and atmosphere tease your senses. And I know a lot of owners are wising up to this, but it has to be said: your staff is what earned your establishment 5 stars. My friends and I relaxed at a table with way too much food (we wanted to try everything and failed as our stomachs filled), the right amount of drink, and filled the empty space with laughter and a great time with (again) the staff. This was my first experience at Twist, and it will certainly not be my last.Thank you for providing the catalyst for an amazing night with friends.
My friend and I went into twist last night for the first time. Sammy A was our server and she was amazing! She was so sweet and attentive and always made sure we were taken care of. Since it was our first time, Sammy told us about the history building and also told us about the nightclub exchange. We didn’t have time to try it out last night but we definitely will next time we come on another weekend!! Best service we’ve ever had!!!
A bottle of Bacardi at the liquor store is $18.99. 2 shots of Bacardi here are $16.00. You can see yourself.Reply to the owner:I think you should recheck your surrounding locations. Quarters, less than a mile down the road offers $5 Bacardi shots. They were busy, well staffed and seemed to be thriving. Also, a bartender at your establishment informed us it was $5 a shot. We were charged $16. As one who wants to run a business you should make sure your operation is tight before you passive aggressively insult bad reviews.
DJ was absolutely amazing and took care of us the entire brunch. He deserves a raise. The food is always delicious here too.DJ Myze and MC Brandy killed it last night bring them back ASAP.Shane and Megan worked the dance floor. Lots of birthdays a bridal parties had a blast.
So I had never been here before but wanted to try it out. Loved the atmosphere and energy in here. Plus Cayley did a fantastic job of keeping that energy alive while helping us choose what to eat and drink. She was extremely kind, helpful and always checked on me to make sure I was taken care of. The food was phenomenal! Easiest 5 stars I’ve given in awhile, all due to the quality service. Highly recommend.
My company held our holiday lunch at Twist this year and it was awesome. The moment we walked in the door our server Cayley was super attentive, having drinks out to our tables quickly. Plus the food was amazing. Kirk and his staff really made us feel welcomed and gave us a great space for us to enjoy!Ill definitely be back, looking forward the enjoying sometime on the outdoor patio is summer!
Twist is my absolute FAVORITE bar! I know I can always rely on this bar for a good time. My roommate and I love coming here whenever we want to dance! Food is great, environment is fun, drinks are incredible, and the staff is so incredible! I always go in hopes to see one of my favorite bartenders, Taylor. He’s always smiling and making sure I get taken care of even when the bar is slam packed. I definitely recommend visiting on your next night out!
Twist nailed it this weekend, quick service and a great experience from Tylyn. She had great recommendations, made us feel important and comfortable, she also made sure we were having a blast. We can be pretty wild and she never once made us feel wrong for it. The bouncers were friendly and efficient, and the bartenders were excellent. I tell my friends I wanna go back like every day now. Thanks guys!
Had a great time last night. Good vibes and great drinks, courtesy of our bartender Carlos. Will be back!

I went there last Saturday first time and this place didnt disappoint me at all...Good vibes, good music and good onion rings and beer..I will visit again...I only spent 25$ but the money was well spent.
A bit shady with the auto-gratuity. I didn’t even realize it was a thing until I was reading reviews this morning after we visited the place last night. I checked my texted final receipt and sure enough, I double tipped. The owner has explained the reasons in other reviews. I have no issue with the concept and his justification for it. However, we didn’t wander the place to observe signage, I didn’t see the notice on the menu, and most importantly, our server only verbally communicated our subtotal before swiping my card. Then, the first thing on the electronic payment screen is “Tip?” - no mention of auto-gratuity, no receipt to review. You have ample opportunity to present the customer with the auto-gratuity policy upon payment be it on the electronic screen, a printed subtotal, or verbally but that is very obviously intentionally withheld. Not great, Mr. Owner. If you don’t want people to perceive auto-gratuity is a shady practice then be better at communicating the policy.
Our Drinks and food was great. Server great just a little shell shocked to pay at end of experience to notice additional $30 dollars authorized on my card when my total was $39.I had to go ask why and was told an additional $30 autho charged but would drop off. Kinda not cool especially when signed off total tab. AND IT CLEARED! Never told anything about it. This does turn me off from recommending or visiting again. Feels underhanded! I would have agreed to been discussed.
Went for brunch on the patio and had a great time. The food is great and the cocktails are even better! I really appreciated the extra steps taken for our safety (temperature checks, hand sanitizer, etc) and being able to sit outside at a safe distance from other patrons. The staff was professional and attentive as well, well definitely be back!
1 bar tender. 1 waitress, 1 cook. Menu is limited to 3 drinks, and 7 items. None were vegan or vegatarian. We tried to order off main menu for our vegan friend, they were able to get her some fruit salad only. They did their best, but the service was slow, the band had not even set up and played after 2 hours, and they mixed up half of the 9 orders at our table.
It’s unfortunate that I have to post this review, especially since I thought issues were resolved and I was honestly impressed with how the owner (Kirk) handles things.. however, he offered a generous solution, then went ghost and hasn’t responded to me in 5 days. I had several issues when I went there last Tuesday, where my bill ended up being $55 higher than it should’ve been due to Kirk and his staff not being on the same page. Instead of charging $4 for our margaritas that were advertised as $4 for Twisted Tuesday, I was told they were $10 after we had already paid. I asked how the bill even got that high, because it didn’t make sense and I didn’t see an itemized receipt. I was told that the flier was wrong, the margaritas aren’t $4, and the owner is never on the same page with the bar and offers incorrect specials. That’s my fault?..But then according to Kirk, it was the staff who were incorrect, as the margaritas ARE $4 on Tuesdays. I tipped our waitress $16 on an $80 bill, only to find out the next morning that there’s an automatic 20% gratuity charge on every bill. This wasn’t communicated, but apparently there’s a paper taped to the wall behind the bar inside.. we were seated outside. 🤦🏻♀️ So I actually tipped her $32 in total, when the bill itself shouldn’t have been more than $41 not counting tax or tip. I paid $96 for 4 “$4” margaritas and two meals ($12 and $13 each), which again, would be $41. Adding a $16 tip to that still would’ve only been $57.Instead of leaving a negative review, I found Kirks email in the reviews and emailed him personally to discuss. Of course he was “sooo sorry” and “very upset.” He said he was going to refund my entire bill and give myself and my cousin two $50 gift cards for the inconvenience. I thanked him and told him no, I don’t need a full refund, as I did eat and drink at his establishment, and I asked about refunding half instead. It’s been 5 days and still no response. I sent a follow up email two days ago and nothing. He’s had plenty of time to respond to new reviews though. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s one thing to act like you care about customer satisfaction and making things right, but to actually act on it is another.I’m also friends with one of the cocktail waitresses and was informed that he sent some communication out to them, saying there was a customer who was “very upset about her $4 margaritas not being $4 and now he HAS TO refund her entire bill in order for her to take down her 1 star review.” That’s odd, seeing as I hadn’t even left a review, I was very nice, and he’s the one who said he was going to refund my entire bill. I never even threatened a bad review. I told him I’d rather speak with him directly instead of leaving a review which is why I emailed him, but here we are. 🤷🏻♀️I’m honestly so disgusted by how this situation has been handled. Not only is he lying and manipulating his customers, but he’s apparently doing the same to his staff. Take accountability and get YOUR staff on the same page as you, rather than placing the blame on your staff and offering refunds you aren’t going to follow through with. Keep your money and maybe put it towards some proper training, Kirk.
Can’t speak to the food— came here for a fun night out with friends! Giving it 3 stars because the music and most of the staff were really nice. However, one of the bouncers (Anthony) was incredibly rude and accused me of having a fake ID and wouldnt scan it or admit me. I’m 26 and it is 100% my real ID. He was rude and definitely had some sort of power complex. I had to go into the VIP line and pay extra money and my ID was scanned without any problem.
Walked in and should have walked right back out when I was hit by the awful smell of urine. But we had already paid for parking so we sat down. Our waitress was kind. Asked us if we were ready to order dink and I asked for a minute. 10 min later she comes back. We were one of 6 people there so in no way was it busy. They were out of all the appetizers we wanted. I understand that, it happens. We ordered our food and got it 25ish min later. I was extremely disappointed by my very cold $15 2.5in tacos. My partners sandwich was hot. Ill give them that. But our waitress never checked on us until our food was gone and drinks were empty. 0/10 would not recommend.
I am actually a resident DJ at Twist for Thirsty Thursdays. After months being a part of this venue, it is HANDS DOWN one of the best spots in the city. Not a lot of places compare to this place. The vibes just hit different in my opinion. A fantastic place for a night out with your friends too! They have a brand new venue right next door called The Exchange. If you’re looking for a more “clubby” vibe, I highly recommend checking it out. I’ve also gotten to know the management and staff very well here. They do their job the right way and they really do care for their guests. From bartenders, to bar-backs, to servers and security, they do everything they can to ensure you have a safe and fun night out. And if you’re ever needing a good server here, ask for Tylyn. She is a total sweetheart and always goes above and beyond for the people she takes care of. All in all, make sure to give Twist a try when you’re in the city!
Miranda made our experience at Twist the absolute best! She’s always friendly and so prompt to making sure we were taken care of for our food and drinks. If you come here make sure to ask for her!
Horrible experience!! Be careful when you guys go to this bar! We went to have a good time and instead left very upset! The waitress we had and the manager Kyle apparently like to scam people! We got charged 3 times for the same drinks along with other things we did not order. Even after explaining to the waitress what we ordered and her confirming she still went and over charged us and lied about it, all probably so she can get a bigger auto gratuity tip. And both the waitress and the manager did not want to provide us with a receipt after asking multiple times! Then they said they were issuing a refund for one of the transactions, but yet would not provide any proof of refund or a refund receipt. I still have not received a refund for 2 of the transactions they said they would refund that should have not been charged in he first place! The manager was very unprofessional! Im sure they have done this many times to many people thinking they are too drunk too notice! Make sure you ask for a receipt before they take your card so you dont get scammed too!!
I had no idea this bar existed until recently. Its a hidden gem. Great prices on shots and beer. As the pregnant DD, the bar tender offered me juice and soda and didnt charge me. Fabulous customer service and cool atmosphere. Go early because there is a line and cover past 9 pm
DJ (I think hes the manager?) was absolutely amazing- really made us feel welcome. They also have a great patio. Try the cocktails!
I like the green pig. Went there, it was packed. Came here.... nobodys here. NBA western conference finals are happening which werent on any TV. They had NO problem putting it on their Im guessing 120 inch projector. Sour beer on tap. Didnt eat anything but food looks dank. Cool multi level lay out. Will return for sure.
Twist is our sports league sponsor bar so we all decided to stop by here after a game. The environment is cool, I hear it can get crazy on weekends when a younger crowd comes in but it was a really chill spot on a Wednesday night.Bartenders are nice, and drink service was quick and accessible. I also ordered food here and that service was significantly slower. I tried the mac and cheese which was ok. The pasta was creamy and cheesy but lacked seasoning and flavor. It was only 5 bucks so for the price I was pretty pleased. The other selling factor is that they have a nice outdoor space. I look forward to coming back with friends to try other things on their menu and enjoy the chill space.
We stopped by twist last night. We had the best service for as busy as it got. Sammy A. Was our server at Twist. Places need more employees like Sammy A. She recommended us to visit The Exchange.,we were pretty impressed. The night turned out to be pretty awesome.
I like the environment, but the cost of things are way high. Shots are almost $10 and if you ask for a custom drink with stuff they have like oj, vodka, and cranberry juice they charge you almost 18 dollars for that one drink. The food I think could have been good if it wasnt good. Make sure you ask for a receipt because they over charged me. Make sure you know they add the tip themselves on your bill. So my bill was $65 for one person. My order was nachos, 1 tequila shot, and 1 mixed drink. I wouldnt recommend this place. I also wouldnt ever go back.
I traveled to SLC for the slopes, so here is a tourists perspective.I was here last week Sunday evening. Business was slow but the service was fast and friendly. Their beer selection was pretty good from what I noticed around town while visiting. The food was actually very good. I had mediocre expectations, and Twist definitely exceeded them. My burger was stacked sky-high and it was prepared exactly to the description and my order. The fries were a little under-cooked, and if I could choose again, I would go with the homemade chips. If you havent been here, give it a shot. Who knows, maybe this place will rock your world. It was alright for me.
Carlos is the best security in SLC. I always feel safe when he’s working. Much love
Great bar to go to if you want to be surrounded by underage kids! Seriously they need to get better bouncers. I see my little sisters friends, who I know for a fact are 17-18 year olds here all the time. Along with Freshman cheerleaders/dancers from UofU, you can literally find their ages on the spirit squad instagram along with their pictures at twist on slcpics. Do better! EDIT- The owners response is bs. take tips from MILK+, their bouncers catch fakes (even if they scan) all the time. You don’t have to let people in if they scan. It is not hard to look for the details that the fake IDs lack.
Menu is in fluxx & our group was disappointed as they really wanted apple crepes. But their brunch buffet was great value for quality. Waitress destiny was above & beyond. I would recommend calling before you head out for menu items but it was great overall
We had a company lunch party here at Twist just yesterday. The customer service was amazing, Kirk is hands down the nicest human you will ever meet. The food was great, our waitress was on top of it. Thank you Kirk and Twist team for making our lunch party a success.
We has a great time at Twist. Our server Sanmy A. Was amazing. Made sure our drinks stayed full and very professional. She recommended us to check out The Exchange. Pretty awesome place. Thank you Sammy A.
I had such a blast! The music was so perfect; this place is where it’s at! It was my birthday and I remember that there was a cute girl, I think named Tasia (Tasha), that was so nice and willing to help me with everything I needed! Such a fun place, definitely will be returning this next weekend with my girls!
I was at this bar with a fairly large group of others just a few days ago. The service was exceptional, despite the issues which often crop up due to large groups. Overall, things went quite well. The issues we had were mostly related to the backup in the kitchen; a thing which can happen from time to time. The only thing I had an issue with was my burger, which was dry and had a rather dense bun for my tastes. All the other food was quite good indeed.
Destiny was such an awesome server!! She is amazing at her job. She cares about her customers and makes sure they are good to go! I highly recommend destiny when you come to twist. She won’t disappoint you!!!:)
One of my favorite bars downtown. has such a fun vibe and super yummy food! ask for tylyn as your server because she is hands down the BEST! very friendly and always has a good attitude plus she always gets our food/drinks out super fast.
Was an awesome night with friends visiting SLC. From LA, wasnt expecting much from the Utah night scene but we all had a great time. There were about 7 of us and Taylor took care of us very well, really nice and jokeful and overall a wonderful server / bartender. Was glad to get in before the line got too long on a Friday night but overall, great time.
If you’re looking for a night out of dancing in downtown salt lake this is the place! Always good vibes, music & service. Love having the option to go out on the patio and get some fresh air. I always try and spot Taylor, he’s been my bartender a few times and is always attentive & spot on with the drinks!
Twist has the best service in Salt Lake. It was recommended by a friend as a good bar with a club so I checked it out. Cayley was our server and she was awesome! Drinks we refilled before I realized they were getting low! Food is great and the vibe is amazing! Ask for Cayley 5 star service!
Man oh man is this place awesome. The staff is very welcoming. The guy at the front door, Nico I think his name was, was very polite. The inside is very nice and clean. The staff at the bar was quick and worked together very well. Chantel and Alex handled my order very fast and were very pleasent to have a conversation with. Definitely going to be coming back.
Felt like we were getting kicked out with our server asking after our second drink if we were ready to close and then on our 3rd she asked again and we just said fine close the tab. Drinks werent that great as they felt they were diluted which couldve been why the server wanted us gone after we asked what was in our second drink since we didnt feel it had any alcohol. We were like the only ppl there beside two/three other couple. Wasnt too impressed with the place especially with the good reviews it has. I guess this is the to go spot for the weekend not so sure during the week.
I went into Twist on a whim and while the place wasn’t necessarily my scene, the service was exceptional. The young lady serving my drinks, Tasia, was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. She recommended some great beers and made my time there a fantastic one.
Gets a little crowded on weekends of course. Great music. There was good food when I went a previous time on a weekday.Friendly staff that takes care of you as fast as possible. Just dont dance in front of the bathrooms even though the crowd will hype you up. Youll be asked to move lol.
Sammy A was an amazing server! We are from Georgia came to visit SLC for a week. We went to grab a few drinks before our way to the theatre and decided we were just gonna stay at twist and continue our night there! Never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a drink and she was right there every time they were empty. Will be coming back next time we are here!
The vibes were off. Not sure what this bar is striving for. They have out of date tacky music on one level. Sports on another. The drinks are over priced. 10/10 would not reccomend..
Safest place to have a good time at and not worry about drama ! Top notch service security and staff are professional and protective of clients!!! Go visit and have good time !!!!!!
On 11/19/21 our server (VN) did a fine job taking our orders, being polite and even fun... good job! However when I received my tab (the shots were expensive- oh well, I dont care) I wasnt told there would be an auto gratuity for just a 2 person tab. I also met other people there who were later surprised about the auto gratuity. Long story short(er) I gave 25% tip on top of the 20% AG tip on my 3 figure tab.I have called 4 times and left my name, phone number, check number (#51) and was told each time that I would get a call back to remove the AG (the lower amount of the two tips).Point - Tell people there is an auto gratuity, especially when there is only 2 people on the tab and actually call your customers back. Two friends that I met up with there sent there tacos back twice because the meat was refrigerator cold! The nachos were fine and the atmosphere was good.
Me and some girlfriends came here after dinner and we loved the vibe. The servers and bartenders are all amazing but the one that stood out to me the most was Myke.Love the atmosphere - 10/10 🙌🏻
Horrible!!! They call themselves a bistro...it is a bar...plain and simple. The menu items were nothing to write home about. My meal was absolutely terrible. Diced fried potatoes that were hard and dry. I have eaten better sausage egg and cheese sandwiches out of a gas station. Took three choices to finally get a beer they had in stock off their menu. The only positive is that they comped my meal. But then she tells me they automatically add on a 20% tip. For a party of 1...at 11am...on a Sunday morning. Not going back!
Twist really brought ALL the energy this weekend. I don’t go out too often these days but I am so glad I did! My friends and I got the fastest service from Cayley all night! Not only was she fast but she was also so friendly and fun! I feel like it’s rare to get good drink service now a days especially when it’s busy, but not with Cayley. I will definitely be coming back soon!
The staff is sweet and amazing, and very welcoming! I absolutely adore Cayley! She is my absolute favorite woman and is so down to earth, friendly, and fun! She has such an amazing outlook on life and makes you leave wanting to come back the next day!!!
Fantastic service and delicious food! We sat on the patio with our dog and enjoyed watching a seemingly endless parade of people getting graduation or engagement photos taken. The architecture of the alley is just so photogenic, and the weather was amazing. The servers were so nice to our dog and brought out some water for her. I had been a little worried that wed end up inhaling a lot of cigarette smoke on the patio on a Saturday evening, but anyone who smoked stood far away from us and being there at 7 pm meant there werent a lot of people there. We live just one mile away, so we enjoyed the walk there and back. This was a great escape after a long week!
Cool little pub restaurant tucked in a sweet location. Almost feels like a secret treasure.Me and a group of friends were looking to get a bite and a drink before a Jazz game. Everywhere on Main Street was packed so I led us all to Twist, as the wife and I had a great experience there once before. The food, drinks, service and patio were wonderful. Everyone had a great time and I felt like a downtown hero. Really enjoy this place!
Very cool place, chill atmosphere, very unique decor. It can get a little awkward crowded though, and Im from out of town, I could definitely tell there were a lot of regulars giving me and my friends the eye because we obviously were new there. We just tried ignoring them and enjoyed ourselves. Outside of that, pretty cool place! No cover too, which is awesome, comparing it with some of the other local bars.
I was very disappointed in my experience today. I arrived at 1:14pm for a late brunch. I was able to be seated quickly, unfortunately it was directly in front of the live music. It was a bit too loud but hey Im fine, I can deal with that, np. The waitress took our drink order within a few minutes. We ordered a bloody Mary and a coffee with whiskey. Almost 40 minutes later we received our drinks. 1 waterered down bloody Mary and 1 iced coffee with chocolate syrup but no whiskey...Not exactly what wed hoped for. We left and went to another place nearby and were well taken care of, full drinks and finished eating within that same 40 min.
I was very delighted. Met up with a friend, had a good time, enjoyed great food -- solid all the way around. They had a Trivia Night that sounded fun, and plenty TV screens to catch the Eagles vs. Redskins game. French dip and fries hit the spot. Friendly staff.
This place placates to self-absorbed, immature children who act like they just broke free from their parents oversight... But that is to be expected in this Utah culture. If you want to go back in time to when you hated the world and felt it owed you everything, stop in here to mingle with people who think alike. The staff is cool, and to be honest, they seem somewhat tired of the kind of crowd they have to deal with as well.I am giving two stars wholely based on the staff treating me well, which I wholeheartedly appreciate. If it werent for the staffs efforts, I would give this place zero stars based on the kind of people it attracts.I almost regret posting this review, because the staff was very accommodating. However, it was not the staff that influenced my less-than-stellar review... it is the crowd this place attracts. This place harbors a superficial, immature vibe, where appearences (and outward strut) are everything, and attracts what only a child barely out of turning 21 would be attracted to.I wont be coming back. Ill leave this hangout to the kids.
I dig this place. The location is prime. In the middle of downtown, you get that urban experience that so many Salt Lake restaurants wish they can have. Large patio to hang out on, and the inside decor rocks. Its chill, laid back, and spacious. On top of that, the prices are right. If youre a drinker, cocktails are between 3 and 6 dollars. Most entrees are less than 15, appetizers are between 8 and 12.But at the end of the day, if the food sucks, the prices and location dont matter. But luckily, the food here is awesome. I cant speak for the entire menu, but we went here for brunch. The wife had the sweet hash, and I had the curry hash. The curry has was very good, but the sweet hash was simply superb. Yes, I said SIMPLY SUPERB. Deal with it, Im pretentious. The crowd seems to be in the 22 to 35 demographic and super hip. Men with groomed beards and women wearing beanies in the summer time. I wont hold it against anyone for trying to be fashionable. I HIGHLY recommend this joint, especially if youre going to Maxwells...just come here instead.Side note to owners: Dont let your employees smoke on the patio outside by your patrons where we are eating. Sure, the patio is a smoking section, but I feel like the employees should exhibit a little more professionalism and not smoke in front of the customers...maybe Im a prude...Im not just a prude...Im a freaking virgin man.
This is such a fun, cool place. I feel it really sets itself apart from the other bars in the area and Im totally going back again!!
Clearly identifiable as always making me throw up blood all night even after one drink purchased every time.
Went on a party night. Had a lot of fun dancing with people half my age! 😄 Mostly college students. Two levels of fun. I dont drink but there was a bar on each level with friendly staff and security. Didnt eat there we had food prior to going.
Place aint bad for the size of the venue. I was pretty sauced no lie. Atmosphere was a vibe outside (didnt really go inside that much except for the occasional drinks) but the service outside was pretty good.
Came in to Twist last night and sammy A was or server. She was a very sweet server and she made sure we were taken care of. She also recommended the Exchange. We checked it out and it was an amazing time. Thank you Sammy A, we will be sure to visit again because of your service.
Sammy A was a great server. Came in with a bunch of friends! Super bubbly personality and made everyone feel welcomed. She also recommended us to exchange and had a blast! Great customer service !
They dont let anybody in that has a medical condition I got turned down beacuse of my medications
Twist is my favorite place to go! I always love how kind the servers and bartenders are. I frequently get Tylyn as my bartender and the drinks are always on point! Shes also on deck with any recommendations with any drinks when I dont know what I want. Top tier service love this spot!
Cayley was amazing! She got our order right away, our drinks were never empty and our food was prompt and delicious! She was very friendly, peppy, and spunky! I would recommend Twist and Cayley to anyone! Best service ever! 🥳🍲💜
Going there on a busy Friday night is always a risk but we got a table for five early and got superb service by Alexis. she took such good care of the entire party. Once 11pm hit the upper floor was packed so go early if your looking for more food and quiet than party and dance.
I had the best waitress named Tylyn. I wasn’t sure what kind of drink to get, but told her what I liked. She recommended the perfect drink and made sure my glass was never empty. She was quick, efficient and seemed genuinely happy to do it. It was such un environment and great service. I would recommend Tylyn and Twist to anyone looking for a good time⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sunday brunch was hearty with a fresh bloody Mary. DJ helped us on a tour of the historical building. He was helpful and full of good energy. We plan to come back for the night life.
Came in for a couple drinks with my girlfriend and the hostess we had was absolutely outstanding, I believe her name was Trissina. She was well mannered polite and catered to every one of our needs. Awesome place!
My wife and I took a mini vacation to salt lake this weekend. After a few failed attempts to find a good bar to relax at, i finally just took a Lyft to Twist. I have been there a handful of times and knew we could at least get a decent drink and listen to music. I have a torn ACL, so we found the nearest table to the door and had a seat. Our waitress, Kaitlin, came right to our table as we sat down and welcomed us and began taking our order. She was awesome! Our drinks were never empty, she even took time to ask about my knee and and made us feel like we were friends. For as busy as the bar was.. I was amazed at the service we had. The table we chose ended up needing to be moved to create room for a dance floor area. So Kaitlin and a few other staff members helped us pick up and move and cleared a spot for us to sit. As we finished up, I was escorted by 2 security to the front door to make sure I made it there safely and we left. It was by far one of the top 3 experiences I have had at a bar away from home. Thanks to Twist, and Kaitlin for our awesome experience.
Horrible experience when I was miss gendered and had to pay the Male fee entry. Advertised as trans-friendly but its far from it. Disappointed to pay the very expensive fee, only to leave 15 min later due to lack of crowed and tasteless 90s music.
I have never been to the establishment but I saw the segment of hired or fired on Fox 13. Because of your safety precautions of staff and myself I will definitely swing by and pick up takeout! The prices on the menu only reflect wonderful food and respect for the staff! WELL DONE SIR! Well done
Super fun and super safe. They have tight security and will not mess around. The music is bouncin, and the drinks are flowin. One of the best clubs here in utah!
Horrible, dont use the ladys room for too long. You will be violently held down on your face and chest by 4-5 men with you skirt above your waist for way too long if you dont comply with leaving the restroom fast enough when you need a minute. Very sad to see what happened. I will never return. All the lady needed was a minute to herself. Disturbing what I saw.
Twist is such a fun place for my friends and I to go. We love the multiple levels and outdoor patio. We also look forward to nights when Taylor is working. He is a great and attentive bar tender!
First time out to a bar in slc for the holidays and I had a better time than I originally expected. After spending some time at the temple we decided to get some drinks at this bar, Twist. We had this hostess, I think her name was Tylyn and despite the fact that she was too busy to give me her number she still made sure that I ALWAYS had a drink in my hand. She was absolutely great. I’ll be returning for sure!
Stupid high cover charged for an empty club. Women in free. I’ll change my review if i’m contacted by the owner with a refund. Otherwise, lots of 1 stars from many with the same feelings on the way
I have been working for years to build a time machine. My lifes goal is to travel back to the early 2000s because that was when I was happiest before I lost all my money in the financial crisis. I had just finished my machine when I went to twist to celebrate and was a little disappointed to realize if I wanted to go back to the early 2000s I could have just come here. Food is good though
The service, food, and drinks were fantastic! But I was with a big party. When it came time to pay for our share, they didnt keep track of our drinks and food, so we were asked our orders at the bar instead of being brought a check. Not saying thats hard, but at a BAR while drinking... THATS hard. We stayed for an extra 45 minutes while they figured it out what belongedto who. Still great service until then.
Craving a mimosa so I stopped into Twist. Myke with a why was quick to greet and serve! Ended up staying to watch some of the games on their huge screen. Underrated Sunday spot for brunch and football with quick and friendly service. Will be back!
Atmosphere was great, I went on a Friday night and there was a live DJ that was playing great music. The Brussel Sprouts appetizer was amazing and would return for that specifically. The reason for 3 stars was because I ordered vegan foods and was given normal ranch and was not able to eat it. The servers were all vaping on the side and the service was slightly slow. I asked for my burger to be medium and it came out very well done. I would return but only for snacks and maybe a drink or two.
Place is dope, music is fun but the service we got was horrible. Dude server took 20 min to bring our drinks... it was on a Wednesday night at 8pm there were not many customers. We asked for waters which he brought like an hour later, I asked for a french dip and he didn’t bring any au jus until like 15 min after the food came out. We had to go look for him to ask for more drinks and he said he was busy at the bar when we found him talking to some server girls... the place is nice but with this service I don’t wanna step foot back in here
Cool spot to get a drink, service was good. Seems to get pretty busy on weekends. Dont order the nachos though, they were pretty pathetic. For $14, we got some basic chips, a few dry tyson chicken slabs, and some non-ripe avocado slices. No sour cream, no guacamole. You can do better.
Everyone really loved the atmosphere. Old school feel with modern design touches. Bar tenders are very friendly a d well versed in unique style drinks. There are two levels so certainly check out both of them. Strongly recommend and needs to be on the hit list for a good bar night.
They automatically charge a 20% gratuity on your check and dont tell you. This is my first time and I didnt know that so I gave a 40% tip without knowing. This is also on top of a cover charge. I unfortunately will probably not be back.
Definitely one of the most expensive places I have ever been that was not worth the money you have the cover charge plus the door charge drinks are outrageously priced and the food is not that good on top of the fact there is hardly any space to walk move dance talk the floors were soooo sticky your shoes actually stuck than their hand railing were Beyond gross from stickiness not going back. It cost 40 bucks just to get in and do norhing. Will not recommend nor will i be back
I enjoyed my time there very much! Had the best waitress Sammy A was by far one of the best waitresses I have had in a long time. Super polite and friendly. Definitely would come back to enjoy the atmosphere and the staff.
Twist is a really great bar and they have wonderful staff. Taylor was my bartender and was quick and was an excellent! I really appreciated how fast he kept the line going with orders. I didn’t have to wait that long.
Great atmosphere and beautiful decor. Definitely a place to make sure to see.The first time I was here, I had a venison Shepards Pie (not sure if its still on the menu) and it was to die for.Down Stairs, check out the arcade games.Parking in this area sucks (not their fault)Im giving 4 out of 5 stars because both times that I have been here, the staff seem frustrated and unhappy.
This is a pretty cool spot. I havent had a chance to try their food. But I like the design of the building and I have seen live jazz being played here. If you go to the bottom floor I think you can actually sit in an old furnace.
My girlfriend and i come in here as often as we can, it’s a fun environment and the food and drinks are amazing!! The blackened salmon and charred brussle sprouts are by far the best on the menu. We also love our server kaitlyn! She’s always on top of things and makes sure we have what we need in a timely manner. Kaitlyn is definitely a good asset to your company we look forward to seeing her when we come in!
This is mine & my friends favorite spot to grab drinks and listen to great music! Always the best time, their employees are amazing as well. Taylor always makes sure we’re taken care of.
Twist is a great bar, its one of the newest ones in Salt lake and it shows. The layout is good and the atmosphere is nice. My college friends and I go here quite a bit. Mostly the college and young professional crowd if that is the group youre looking for.Drink prices are on par with most places in Salt Lake
Braxton came to our rescue (bartender) got out drinks and food order after waiting for the waitress to finish her conversation with the men. She was also drinking and eating during the time she was working. Asked her for ketchup and she made a snide comment. First and last time. Food was amazing and drinks were so good. Maybe another waitress next time
So disappointed of this place I took a friend there for her first time today . The female bartender didn’t know where any thing is at but she is respectful and she know how to make drinks but did not where the flavors where. The waitresses didn’t know what their position is they are just walking around pretending to be busy and nobody didn’t come to our table and while the bartender was struggling to look for the bottles/ flavors for our drink it took 25 min for me to go up and tell her never mind. I cash out and left. I did not want to wait or been their no more. Disappointed
Great mozzarella sticks, pretty good drinks I had the watermelon amf. Nice music and lots of hangout spots a dancefloor outside and inside. A little small but good overall
This place has been open a week and its obvious that the staff has no idea what theyre doing. The middle aged, over weight, and sweaty bartender that mans the downstairs bar is particularly terrible at his job. Not only is he rude, but he seems to think you owe him for having the privilege of standing at his bar. Sorry man, you dont deserve my usually generous tip.Feel free to come to this bar if youre looking for a mini maxwells. Popped collars, salmon colored shorts and boat shoes litter the establishment. All in all, 1/10. Wont be returning. Terrible service and terrible drinks. The prices are reasonable, but Id rather spend more somewhere else.
We had an issue and not only did our server do a great job of taking care of it....but later on the owner came and bought our group a round of drinks! 😊 I would most definitely recommend this bar...the food was good and the drinks better! Love the patio as well!
The New Owners are Terrible! This used to be our favorite var until recently! First of all, We have been playing trivia on monday nights here for years! Now the new owners came in and canceled it out if the blue! Then, last week when we came in we noticed that they changed the pint glasses to glasses with a giant bubble in the bottom while still advertising a special for pints! Obviously, they are selling a lot less and calling it a pint! Total rip off! As far as I can tell the only good thing left at this place is Annalise! She is the best thing that ever happened to this place! I would have recommended this place up and down a month ago but its gone straight down hill.
Very nice bar in downtown. It is a old boiler room, so the inside is very unique. The service is good and the food is surprisingly good for a bar. Highly recommend for a night out with friends, but not a good place if you are single ready to mingle.
Jessica checked us in and she was fabulous to speak to!
Demetrius is the best employee there and so helpful! And the drink menu and vibe is off da hook !
Note: this is a college bar—the crowd is always young, which is kind of too bad because the venue itself feels more mature, set within historic building. Not really much dancing; but dynamic with an upstairs and downstairs. The bar is more casual, with high energy and usually a line out the door on weekend nights.
Was here for my 1st time last weekend and was surprisingly impressed. Food was good but the service was even better thanks to my server tylyn! Never had a empty drink in my hand. Most likely will come back when Im in town again
Nico is one of the the security staff there and he was so nice to us! My friend lost her nose ring and he spent so much time helping us and actually found it!! It’s refreshing when a bar has staff that is nice. Good music too.
