Love this place. Very clean, prompt on time service. They have well stocked amenities for use such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, razors toothpaste blow drivers etc. All you need to bring us your clothes an makeup to get ready an maybe lotion. The body scrub leaves you so smooth an feeling pampered an clean.
Everything is more expensive out here so Im not faulting it for being $30 when a similar experience in Korea is, like, $5. This place feels very much like your typical neighborhood sauna in Korea, just with a lot of English. But, even for a sauna in Korea, this would be considered pretty small. Clean, though, and the people there are nice. I will say, though, the actual saunas were too, too hot. A regular customer even said they were hotter than usual.
My daughter recommended we try a Korean day spa. I love massages so we went to Aqua Day Spa. What a treat! We made a reservation online the day before. Upon arrival, we were provided all details explaining how it works. Ladies are exclusively with ladies. We undressed and took showers and entered the jacuzzi. I have bad knees and was feeling it this morning in particular. I could barely bend my knees after playing pickleball the day before. I plunged in the cold water three different times and instantly felt relief! My knees were back in bending order. After soaking in heat and cold for 20 minutes we were called to our respective tables. These are covered in thick slippery plastic. The Korean ladies wear their undies while scrubbing your entire body, including head. Your entire lymphatic system comes alive. But even more impressive is how much DEAD skin comes off your body. Its a lot! For 20-30 minutes they scrub you several times over to make sure they remove every dead skin cell that has accumulated over the years. Afterwards, you shower and return. We opted for the 60 minute massage. Its deep and something uncomfortable but necessary. I felt ALIVE again! My therapist was Anna and she was great! 5 stars all the way! They have a dry sauna, steam sauna, Himalayan salt room and relaxation area. I would plan to arrive one hour before your treatments so you get the most of all services included.
This was my 2nd time visiting and taking part in the spa! As a treat from my daughter! The first time I raved about it. Did the full body scrub. Baby, let me tell you, your skin feels like the day you were born!!! This time not only did we do the full body scrub(highly recommended), we also had a full body massage, and a detox treatment, in which we were wrapped like mummies in gold foil after being rubbed down with the detox treatment. My Spa lady was Jenny, she was super friendly and funny! She also has strong hands cause that massage woke up muscles I had forgotten about. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the owners are nice!Cant wait to visit again! By the way my skin still feels soft at this time, a week afterwards!!!!🥰
Definitely the best and most authentic traditional Asian bath in San Diego. Separated sides for men and women, a hot sauna, hot water bath, cold water bath, steam room, heated floor nap section and complimentary refreshments in the lounge. And best of all, no clothes necessary. And the demographic is very broad including eastern Europeans and various ethnicities; world travelers and veterans; and just generally open minded, LGB+ and body positive guys. But remember to shower before entering the bath and dont be too noisy! On the mens side, Mr. Choi has been a miracle worker for decades. His body scrub exfoliates amazingly and the oil massage has helped recover from my intense workouts.
I would come here for the jimjilbang and body scrub experience. This rating was purely for my 1 hour acupressure with coconut oil. They have you fill out a piece of paper to see which area youd like to focus on and ignore. My lady was so rushed to get situated that she ended up touching the areas I clearly put I didnt want, having to explain it several times. She then proceeded to ask why Im so tense - answering that Im working too much lately. She had the audacity to ask if I make so much money?! I intentionally didnt respond and she asked AGAIN!Her: Did you not hear me?Me: No. I did. But I didnt answer because thats never something you ask a client. That was crossing a hard boundary. She then said her son went to see a doctor for similar issues to get on acupuncture and exercise, recommending I do the same. I DIDNT come here to be told I need to be active! Very inappropriate.I had a super long day and wanted to relax! What bothered me was they charge nearly double the amount and the majority of the time she massaged me WITH THE SHEET ON! I barely got an oil massage AND the facial part felt so rushed and sloppy when applying the wet towel. When I got turned over, I didnt even get massaged on my feet, calves or hands the way I usually do in other places. I told her that hands are OK from the beginning and never got that massaged. Lastly, she finished abruptly and didnt give me time to put on my robe / get my things. She was in the room the whole time and it felt invasive. I sorely lament having spent $110 for a massage here when SO many other places are top tier for $60. I truly thought paying more was going to override everything else but it ended up being very uncomfortable & invasive on various levels. I wish I would have chosen the scrub - this was absolutely not worth the exuberant upcharge.
Visited for the first time today & had a wonderful experience! I got a scrub + body wrap treatment & Anna was incredible. I’ll definitely be back!
Love the scrub and massage experience. Great facility and nice people. It was an amazing experience and I’m excited for my next treatment. My skin felt amazing!
Although the prices have gone up, theyre still reasonable in comparison to nearby similar spas. Its an excellent place to get a body scrub, oil massage and the works. My favorite is the body scrub but one can come here for just a Day Pass to have full access to their cold/hot water jacuzzis, steam room, dry sauna & red clay room. Isnt it about time to pamper your body?
I has bruise all over my upper back after a shiatsu massage. I kept asking the masseuse for going softer and she kept shushing me. Not a work of English and no bedside manners. It felt like a torture instead of a massage. Will never go back there again.
Nice day spa with friendly staff and good price for the day. Went on Sunday and wasnt too busy.
Aqua Day Spa is where I love to go for sauna and massage. Ive been coming here for many years, and its tough to choose another place. Everything is good - they have three saunas, a small jacuzzi, and skilled masseuses. If theres ever an issue, they always try to fix it promptly.
Avoid this lady called “ANNA”, horrible customer service, very rude and was rubbing my skin like I was getting a free massage :). She was yelling most of the time when she was asking to move around, with an attitude moving my arms to the side very aggressively. Definitely, she is not happy of what she is doing. She threw the envelope in front of my face for tip, absolutely horrible experience. If you ever go, avoid this middle age woman, short hair cut, horrible attitude. I will not use her services never again.
I love aqua day spa. Such a relaxing environment and the body scrub with massage is heavenly. I always leave with super soft skin and feeling like all my sins were scrubbed away lol. There is a sauna, steam room, hot tub, cold plunge pool and Himalayan salt room for you to enjoy before and after services. They also have toothbrushes, razors, hair dryers and brushes if you need them. You are given a locker with key, a basket for your things, two towels and a robe. The prices are reasonable and making an appointment is fairly easy.
Its pretty small and underwhelming. No food/snacks or refreshments are offered there. And one of the older attendees yelled at me for something I didnt even do. I wont be coming back.
Today I went to get a massage for my birthday. The woman I got for my massage was terrible. It was as if she had zero massage therapy training at all. It was all over the place, no rhythm or even ness to each side of the body, and kept grinding her knuckles in my bones, rather than actually massaging the muscles. She scratched me multiple times with her nails, not in the good way but all accidental, and even poked me in my armpit with her nail at one point. I was shocked and must have said ouch and jumped multiple x. Another massage therapist looked at me in shock at the treatment I was receiving multiple x. She yanked my leg so hard that my hip is still hurting. Just zero mindfulness to the human body or anatomy. I have been going to the Aqua Spa for years, and it was awesome in the past. So I am fully aware that a Korean massage can be rough but also amazing. This was just bad and felt dangerous to really hurt someone. I kindly let the people in the front aware of what happened, as they stated they had just taken over the place. This massage was $150 and they just said oh sorry. Super bummed and not sure that I will ever be back again. So sad that my birthday gift that everyone chipped in on, was a really bad and painful massage and experience.
OMG!!!! This was the best experience/massage I have ever received. I had an appt at 1130 but showed up at 11 and they took me right in. This was my 1st time here and I am already excited about going back once a month. I got the $150/ 90 min scrub and massage and when I tell you she scrubbed every single part of my body from head to toe. Then she massaged my whole body, my head my scalp and even washed my hair. Then she painted like this facial mask on my face. Then to end it she poured this warm milk like liquid all over my body. I have been telling all my friends and family about this place ever since I left. Lee was the lady that did me I would definitely ask for her personally if you can.I also used the the steam room, hot tub, sauna. Didnt get a chance to use the clay room but will definitely use next time. Very relaxing day. Now, if you have a issue with nudity this is not the place for you. If you have an issue with being touched all over your body this is not the place for you.People leaving bad reviews about them being rough or what not...thats their own fault for not speaking up. All you have to do is let them know if you like soft, medium or hard.I do not have one bad thing to say about this place. They have definitely gained a frequent customer I will be back!!!!
Awesome day. Body scrub, massage, steam, Jacuzzi sauna just a great way to spend my birthday.
Wow. Just wow. Exactly what I needed, will be coming back soon.Pros-Great value for money, they really work you over and immerse you, better than pricey resort spas (imo)-Thorough massage with deep tissue feel, body oil, hair wash, some kind of milk rinse, and warm water rinse and to finish-Steam room cleared congestion I havent been able to get rid of for weeks. Other saunas were amazing.-Jacuzzi includes different height jets for pressure points, feels good-Everyone was attentive to my needs and very polite (even the guests!)-I went on a Saturday around noon and it was not crowdedCons(which are worth it)-Everyone is naked, masseuses see and touch almost everything fyi-Massage was a little rough at times, but masseuse was responsive and knows what shes doing
We’ve enjoyed this low-key spa for the last decade since I’ve returned to my hometown of San Diego. I always feel great when I make the time to go to the cold plunge interspersed with three different types of heat: Jacuzzi, hot steam, and dry sauna. It’s also in a phenomenal location to go have some delicious food afterwards. it’s a bit dated, but there is a new owner who is making changes recently during the last four months. Thank you for contributing to my health!
Warning, if this is your first time at Korean Spa and expect to relax, don’t. This is a tradition Korean Spa where they scrub all your dirt off your skin, not your typical exfoliation where they use salt or sugar. This is so much better. My sister and Mom frequent this facility. The facility is dated but very clean and workers are absolutely wonderful! We come here to rejuvenate our skin, and for the deep tissue massage. The entire treatment is very different from your ordinary massages you get at hotels and spas. The facials are amazing. You’re completely naked in front of stranger women but no one cares what you or they look like, it’s not a beauty contest. It’s weird at first but you’ll find yourself back for more!
I had a unique experience overall with the spa. The receptionist called me to inform me about my appointment, but I was running late since I couldnt find parking. Luckily, she came out and guided me to park along the wall of the spa. Everything in the spa seemed very clean and minimal. Its not your typical spa experience: the lady who took care of me was very thorough. She scrubbed me down EVERYWHERE. I just wish I had brought extra cash to tip my masseuse since they dont take card to tip.
After my initial experience and comparison to the other Korean Spa in town, I was disappointed with my time at Aqua. For the price, the entire experience was simply unimpressive. The place did not look clean, my massage was very painful as the lady who was assigned to do my scrub and massage kept going over my spine (something I’ve never experienced as I know this is a big no-no for health of the back). During the scrub the lady also hurt my head with a hard wooden tool - I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but this was simply too much. What made me most uncomfortable was when I was changing, the masseuse came into the changing room to remind me about the tip. I barely got a chance to change let alone check out so that I could place the tip in the envelope she handed me. A few days after the spa, I broke out with a ringworm infection on my leg. Least to say, I am definitely not coming back.
Fantastic place to unwind, relax, shed some old skin! But don’t compare it to other experiences! This Korean style, not American style spa. But if you get comfortable with a few things, you’ll LOVE it!!1. You’ll be naked with other women. It’s normal, natural, and comfortable here.2. The scrub is brisk and invigorating. It’s not an American squishy massage either! If you want your scrub or massage softer, gentler, they will adjust - just SPEAK UP during the treatment instead of suffering in silence then leaving a bad review like we American ladies tend to do.3. Open your mind, and if you want an adjustment for gentler touch in scrub or massage, open your mouth! In over 10 years of visiting I can tell you the staff will adjust if you ask clearly and openly! And if you open yourself to try it the Korean way, with the more vigorous style, you might love it more and more each visit like I did. I love how they wash my hair at the end on the table!I’ve been going here for years, have always loved the fresh soft skin and relaxing reset at this inexpensive clean simple spa. It’s been fun to drop into a pocket of Korean culture, too! And for such a reasonable price. Don’t resist trying this place!
I have been coming here to use the day spa pretty often, however yesterday was my first time trying out a service (body scrub) and im very disappointed with the customer service from the receptionist. I called to do a walk in & she said they were available at whatever time id like, i was surprised they were not busy at all but anyways i was happy. 30 minute body scrub for $80. its a pre paid service & asked if i wanted to leave a tip before or after, i tipped after. At the end of my service when returning my locker key & tipping 12% the receptionist looked at my tip and asked me if my scrub wasnt good enough because of my low amount tip. Later she continued commenting on how most customers tip a much higher amount. I told her that was my tip and she then continued to say that the service employees rely solely on client tips & that i put her (owner) in a tough situation. Maybe you should pay your employees or raise your price? she was very unprofessional but Wow that was extremely rude, tips are something that should never be commented on. I will not be coming back, you lost a frequent day pass customer. I will also not be recommending this spa either.
I received 60min Body scrub & Massage with a friend and we are both planning to come back for another service. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.Aqua Spa has been around for years (probably under different ownership now) and I was amazed by the neatness and cleanliness of the facility. Water was clean and I was told that the owner changes water frequently to provide clean water for customers. I’ve visited U-spa once to check it out when it was 2 years old after it opened in San Diego. It was a disappointing experience. The facility is definitely newer than Aqua Spa but looked much older. Aqua Spa is the place I recommend to anyone who is looking for a korean spa experience.Thank you Suzy and Annie for a great service.
Great place, great service! I love that you can have your own spa experience for just $30 if you don’t want any add ons. The pink salt and red clay room is my favorite!
I enjoyed my experience very much. I dont think I had very much dead skin to scrub off because I dont notice my skin is any smoother than usual and in some places she scrubbed so hard I was probably a thin layer away from bleeding!I enjoyed the experience the same! Over all this feels like a more authentic spa than some of the others Ive been to here in San Diego.
Best Spa around town! I love how I get to enjoy a luxury spa day in a budget. Definately offers a lot for the price-- for $30 i get to use the saunas, lounge area, steamroom, jacuzzis, etc. all on my own schedule! I often get those bundle admission tickets with discounts cuz I go there almost every weekdays after work when it is not as busy like the weekends. The place is clean and the staff is really nice and on top of maintaining the facility! I am planning to try one of the services too as i heard so many good comments while i was in the sauna with others. What Ive heard is that the scrub and massage makes your skin like a baby!Overall, never had a bad experience over multiple visits and 10/10 recommended if you want a luxury spa with the right price.
I absolutely loved my experience in this Korean SPA! For an average American the experience (without being prepared for sure but most likely even knowing what to expect) would be weird. I originally come from a culture where it’s normal to be naked in a public sauna 🧖♀️ around people of your gender.I made an appointment for body scrub 30min+ massage 60min combo and was in 90min of bliss. Hannah did an amazing job caring for my body - my skin feels amazing and my muscles are relaxed.
Absolutely horrendous experience. I went here on a weekday after work as I was feeling stressed and need massage/spa services. I called to make an appointment for 7:30pm and was told to show up at 7:00pm. At the counter I told her I only wanted to do 1 hour and she insisted that 1.5 hour scrub/massage service was worth it given the 1 hour doesnt give a full experience. The horrible experience started with my therapist being bad her job. The scrub was fine but the massage was terrible. I kept trying to communicate to her but she doesnt understand English and cant adjust the pressure of massage. I tolerated until it was over, and was looking forward utilizing the spa for at least 10-15 mins before heading out.Immediately after I got out of the massage table, the owner/staff came in and I told I cant use the facilities anymore and that I need to get out because contractors are coming in, which made no sense since she insisted that I get the longer service knowing that at 9 pm, I will finish and the contractors will come exactly at the same time giving me no time.I went to the dressing area and she stood there huffing and puffing for me to hurry up and change and to get out so the contractors can come in. I have to rush getting dressed and putting my shoes on and was constantly barraged to hurry up and to get out. I wasnt able to even comb my hair.It was the most horrible experience Ive had at any spa, I will never come back to this place.
I want to start with a mention that facilities were nice and clean, but the scrub and massage experience was not for the faint of heart. Let me zoom in on a later.First off, the scrub is done with nothing else but a very abrasive plastic mitten. It felt to me that I was scrubbed for about 40 minutes. During that time I was cold. The masseuse was rough and never asked for any feedback. She used short phrases like face up, face down, side, up, probably, due to the lack of the knowledge of the English language . She was throwing my limbs this way and that way without any warning. At some point I had to catch my arm with another arm because I felt pain in a joint. She would turn my head with the great force by using the heel of her palm without any warning at all. Overall it felt like my body was used as a dummy for some weird exercise. I didnt feel like a person.Overall, the experience was not relaxing. If I go there again, I will not go for a scrub for sure.
Stop by this day spa while visiting San Diego. its a small, down to business type of spa . It has a car wash atmosphere. In and out , get your body scrub and go home . You cant really relax here , like read a book or nap. Nope, not here.Soak , steam, get your body scrub, and get out . If you are not there for a body scrub , you have 2, maybe 3 hours maximum, then you need to leave. But hey ..if you need a body scrub and massage, have to puck up the kids from school , make dinner, and tend to your hubby. This spot here is the place for a quickie scrub 😀 Enjoy !
Sauna is hot!Cold plunge is COLD!Steam room is so-so, but I dont need it.Its a clean, small place. Its just personnel is not always nice.
Suzy was so nice and the red clay Himalayan salt room was awesome. Ive never gone birthday suit in a massage before but the spa areas are not coed. I felt comfortable once I saw I wasnt alone in my birthday suit and most women put a towel around waste from point a to b. Will go again if in area
My first time here at aqua. It was amazing. Clean, friendly and areas all very open. You do get naked but their culture is comfortable with this and it was amazing to see women of all ages and body types made it feel all so normal. The massage and scubs are amazing. Exfoliating the whole body made my skin shine and feels so soft. Hanna was great.
Im a 22-year client, and every time, and I mean EVERY TIME, I leave thinking that was the best experience ever. Thank you for continuing to provide the best traditional Korean body scrub and oil message. See you next time!
First time at Aqua Spa. I will definitely go again. Very professional, relaxing, and sparkling clean. My skin felt like a baby, and I’m spreading the word.
We were looking for a great place to go with friends who were visiting from out of town after a hectic week and it was divine! The common space is quiet, cozy and relaxing with 2 saunas and an ice room that you wear a uniform the spa provides. The men and women are separate for the water features — hot tub, steam room, another sauna and ice bath. We had a great time and will definitely visit again!
Never been to a place like this before and it was phenomenal! Got a scrub and massage and spent over an hour in the hot tub, steam sauna, dry sauna, clay room and the cold plunge is phenomenal. I came out feeling like a snake that shed its skin and is anew. Will definitely be coming back here.
This place is awesome. Best scrubs and best massages.
Very clean, helpful staff, the massage therapists, Lee and Alice were amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience great massage and relaxation.
Went yesterday with my bestie! This was our first time! We went as a walk in, Front desk was super nice! She explained everything good, but one thing we did not expect was to be naked, it was a wonderful experience. There was no judgment once entering, felt comfortable. I love the cultural environment. Definitely coming back next month!
They have a hot tub, cold plunge, dry sauna, steam room, and Himalayan salt & clay sauna. It’s not a top notch facility but it’s clean and the actual tubs and rooms are great for the price (I paid 25 for 3 hours).Where I tell the difference between this and other more expensive spots: the lights aren’t very calming- quite bright. No music playing. They could use some calming tunes. I was in from 6-9pm on a Saturday and the workers were all talking very loud which you can easily hear from the rooms. The “relax” room w chairs to sit has bright lights & flat screen & the chairs aren’t very comfy. Chairs in the wet rooms area aren’t comfy either so there’s not a great spot to just chill between rooms.Overall it was good for the price but I think some small tweaks from management and it would be GREAT.
Loved It! I was surprised how comfortable and relaxing it was. I had the 90 min acupressure stone massage and facial. It was wonderful. I spent about an hour in the spa area after.
I love it here. Great skin care and self care. Get the scrub and massage and you wont be disappointed. You can stay all day with a treatment or a day pass. Mens area is separate from womens. There is a salt room to rest and take a nap, cold-dip pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, showers, blow dryers, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. If you get a treatment/scrub go at least 30 minutes early to soak so you get the best results.
Love it! My first experience with a Korean treatment. The staff is friendly and professional. Facility is very clean and organized. I got the scrub and massage felt 10 years younger after leaving. Amazing!
This was my first time at a massage/spa parlor. I went because it was my mom’s birthday gift, and she heard wonderful reviews from friends about this place. Needless to say, it was amazing! I came out with baby soft skin, my body feels so much looser, it was next to heaven! They even put some mask on my face and washed my hair after -it was an amazing experience. I suggest them to anyone whose not sure about where to go for their first massage. Very rejuvenating, and a very professional and peaceful environment!
My visit to Aqua Day Spa was a horrifying experience. The jacuzzi, supposed to be a relaxing oasis, was tainted by a repulsive mass of human waste. The staffs nonchalant response and lack of accountability were equally disappointing. I strongly urge you to avoid Aqua Day Spa unless you enjoy swimming in filth.
After a long break during Covid, I finally went back to one of my favorite places in San Diego. I got my usual scrub and massage treatment. It was wonderful as always and my body really needed it. The place is neat and clean, and everyone very friendly.
Another 5 star experience. I usually just get the scrub and massage, but I did the scrub and acupressure massage with facial (a gift). Hanna was my therapist and she was wonderful. The scrub was invigorating, the massage was strong, and the facial was relaxing. The front desk was super nice as always.
At first I was a little apprehensive but as the service progressed It became abundantly clear that I needed this. I purchased the full body scrub with massage and it was amazing. I knew my technician had her work cut out for her due to the fact I had built up spray tan residue for the past 2 months that needed to be exfoliated off and what a great place to have this performed. She was able to remove all of the spray tan. I was extremely impressed. My skin is so smooth and soft. I will definitely be returning to Aqua Day Spa.
Had a body scrub & massage! Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and red clay room included. Clean and safe place. Best experience ever! Wonderful, friendly, caring professionals. Anna is amazing! So grateful. Highly recommend!
By far the best spa experience I’ve ever had! I love the golden tortilla and I’m always walking out of there like the Goddess/Queen I know I am 😌
I have always enjoyed Aqua Day Spa. I was introduced to Aqua Day Spa a number of years ago, and have enjoyed bringing family and friends for a special afternoons. I was so disappointed recently when I brought my sister who had been visiting. We arrived and after telling the front desk person that I was just paying for the use of the facility and not getting a treatment, she asked me rudely to step to the side, so she could help the person behind me. I was a little surprised by her behavior and pointed it out. She basically said she didnt care and go somewhere else if I didnt like it. I have always thought of myself as a loyal person, but I wont be bringing my business to Aqua Day Spa again. I found another place and it is much newer, cleaner and the front desk woman was lovely. Sorry Aqua Day Spa, but you might want to hire a new front desk person.
First time going to something like this in the US and it was amazing! The fresh and modern spa area was clean and not overwhelming. The sauna was delightful.Anna gave me a scrub and massage. It was a relaxing and invigorating experience.I will definitely return!
Aqua Day Spa was suggested by a friend and once we arrived everyone there seemed to love it. We got eveything done for $130/each. The massage and scrub (very intense) were nice. The spa itself is very small. Im used to larger Korean spas that offer cold rooms, cedar wood rooms, Etc. There isnt a restaurant on site here. They dont have very many amenities to get ready with after. Not sure Ill go back.
I am so in love with this place! I feel like I have been reborn after the scrub and massage. I am planning to come here every month because it is affordable and the value is amazing! You have to be comfortable with be naked so be ready for that! I cant recommend this place more!
I honestly had a great first experience. I got the services I paid for and more. The staff are very friendly, respectful, polite, and even caring. They work fast and get the job done. I would definitely recommend it. I believe I had a lady named Julie giving me a scrub/massage. I dont remember her name for sure, but she left me with a good first impression.I can be a pain when it comes to cleanliness...so Im my opinion, the place could be more sanitary.
Clean spa with separate areas for men and women. Wet and dry sauna, hot and cold plunge, and shower areas. Amenities are a bit slim in terms of body products but they have the essentials to get clean. Small lounge area with TV to relax in and a quiet napping room. No frills but for the price it’s a great place.
Small place to relax, but great in general. They offer two towels, bath robes, free water and some light snacks on top of a dry sauna, wet sauna, a hot tub, a cold pull down shower, ice cold tub, as well as a bunch of regular showers. I liked that they have a place similar to a lounge area with a TV. Absolutely loved the complementary shampoo, conditioner and hair gel. However, their combs were a little sketch and needed replacement, but overall nice small place which leaves you refreshed as soon as you walk out. Amazing staff!
The staff is always friendly, place is always clean, services are always Hot, the right temperature. Women have the Himalayan salt sauna as well , which is a really nice plus. Id recommend this to anyone. I dont get the private services, because I love the water soaks so much, and get so much benefit from them. Really great set up, makes it easy to go from one modality to another, and spend a good one two or three hours there, depending on what you need.
I dont know why it took me so long to try this place out. I came in last week with my Mom and sister and left with new skin and a new body. The place is very clean and professional. I did the body scrub and acupressure massage with Sunny who is Amazing! Ill be back for sure. The ladies here are awesome!!🙌
I love the auntie MeMe ,She is the best and I feel I am fresh just hoping in the future they can add some mint scalp oil ,I tried that in another Korean sauna and it’s so fresh after out
Love this spa space! The staff and people are so nice and accommodating. They have raised prices but not ridiculous like Yu Spa. Only suggestion would be to enforce no cell use in the salt room. 😳
I love visiting this spa. I have never received any services here, I only have ever used the facilities with a day pass, but it appears to be very clean and the atmosphere is extremely relaxing. I especially loved the Himalayan dry sauna. I would recommend this spa to my friends, it is a very unique spa/bathing experience. It also wasnt awkward to be around other naked spa guests, as everyone was respectful.
I love this place! Its small but has all the basics. All the staff are pretty friendly. I go here about every 6 weeks to get a body scrub and pay $72 including tip. They always have pretty open availability so I always show up without an appointment. They have a hot pool, cold pool, sauna, steam room and a Himalayan salt clay room. They also have a small lounge area with armchairs and barley(?) tea I believe. They have blow dryers and brushes for the ladies.
Our family had a wonderful time in this spa while visiting San Diego from Arizona. I got a body scrub from Ruby, my husband got a deep tissue massage from Anna, and my son also got a body scrub from a male therapist. We are very satisfied with the quality of service and their kindness. The facility was clean and staffs were very friendly.
I’ve been coming here for years, this is one of the OG K spas in San Diego. All of the staff here are amazing, and I always come out squeaky clean with what feels like years of dead skin off my body!
I have NEVER in my life felt more violated than at Aqua Day Spa. My girlfriends invited me to an impromptu girls day at a local day spa and went here after raving reviews from a friend. The people at the front were pushy from the start and wanted us to hurry up and pay them. I wanted the 90 min scrub and oil treatment for 90 minutes which was $110 plus the Gold facial treatment which is another $20. They only charged me $110. I pointed out the error and asked if I could just pay the difference in cash as I had put the $110 on my card. They said yes and I handed the girl a $20 bill.We go in the back and get ready for our treatments. While we are enjoying the amenities before our service they pull us out of the steam room and tell me that I owe them $20 that I never paid them the additional $20. I said I most certainly did. I was the one to point out their error and handed them a $20 bill. She proceeds to tell me that the man after me paid the $20 for his service, I never paid them. She said they counted all of their money and it was short the $20 AND reviewed their surveillance camera and I didnt pay them.I demanded that they show me the footage. They DONT KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IT SO CLEARLY THEY HAD NOT REVIEWED IT! After waiting 10 minutes for them to figure it out there it is! Me HANDING THE LADY A $20 BILL!!!!!!! Are you out of your minds?! Falsely accusing someone of basically stealing AND lying that you already reviewed tape and balanced your cash?!?! To make matters worse I wanted my money back and to put my clothes on. They kept TOUCHING ME and trying to apologize and get me to stay. THEY WOULDNT LET ME GET DRESSED. I had to threaten to call the police and force my way pass them and lock myself in the bathroom to put my clothes back on.I hope $20 was worth of of this to you!!! I have NEVER treated anyone with the lack of respect and decency like you guys did today. I will tell everyone I know about this horrible experience and report your business as well. That lady should be fired for being an unethical employee. She lied about everything! Youre going to accuse someone of something you better have your facts lined up. So instead of relaxing I am more angry and tense than Ive been in a long time and had a full blown panic attack after my personal space was completely violated.
I had such a wonderful experience here. The body scrub was life changing, the oil & milk massage was life affirming. Absolutely wonderful experience... just need your toothbrush, hair supplies, make-up, deodorant, and perfume... b/c the rest is provided
Had a 90 min body scrub & massage as the girl in the front convinced me the other ones wont be good and this is best. I have had body scrub before and I know it can feel rough but it was pretty painful at times. The massage was really intense. I marked on the sheet “medium” pressure. I guess I shouldve chosen gentle because this felt like I was getting beaten. She would put pressure directly on my bones, and throw my body around really rough. It felt as if she just wanted to get it over with. And I was her last client because after she gave me the tip envelope and kept coming over checking and looking at me and the envelope before she left. The water temps were EXTREME it was scalding water shed spray on me and many times I told her turn it down. I told the girl in front after that it was really intense and everyone says yes thats good. So maybe this is the treatment just very rough abusive like. I can handle pressure but being thrown around careless really doesnt feel like a restorative treatment. Overall the rest of the spa is clean, well kept nice saunas, baths etc. wish they had an area to rest on heated floors. Overall its a fine spa, just the treatment felt traumatic for me. Dont think I will do one again.
I moved here in 2017 and was delighted to find a jimjilbang close by! This lovely little spot is divided into the mens side and the womens side and covers all areas of relaxation! From the hot and tranquil Himalayan Salt room to the stash of Nila wafers they provide in the relaxing quiet area (with squishy chairs!) - they have thought of everything! Its nice to have a place where you can go in an ice bath and then right into a steam room and then into a sauna and then into a hot tub - all in your birthday suit! It is a wonderful place to bring your friends for a nice relaxing spa afternoon and if you really want to go deeper then have Anna give you a massage! She has literally become my favorite person , relieving all of my pain almost on a weekly basis!!! Shes amazing and so so so strong! You may be a little sore afterwards but you will feel so much better! The scrub and massage includes a cucumber facial and hair washing! Aqua Day Spa is my little haven and its pretty exciting!! Dont worry- because if youre hungry after, around the corner is The Revolving Sushi Train so there it is!
I love this place, they are a little shady with the day pass and could be more sanitary but the body scrub and amenities are so amazing they have a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and cold plunge pool... the massages are 6-7 out of 10 and its really when there are not many people there you have the whole spa to yourself. JUST BRING YOUR OWN SANDALS AND BE PREPARED TO BE NAKED WITH A FEW LADIES LADIES AND 2 80 YEAR OLD KOREAN LADIES... I like to bring my own mud mask and do self facials/deep hair conditioning ... i do enjoy the massage with one of the ladies more than others
Wonderful experience for me, mom, and boyfriend. scrub and massage was lovely, very straight to the point which is exactly what we needed 😁
The spa facility itself is nice enough, although it would be good to have hooks for towels. However, words cannot describe my experience of receiving a scrub and oil massage from ANNA.I have received massages from all over the world and I prefer a deep massage. What I experienced was a violent angry massage from a person who gave off the energy of rushing through it to just to get it done. I was left not only feeling like a piece of meat.. But a violated piece of meat, having my limbs thrown around without even a thought of being respectful caring or kind. I told her my elbow was injured and requested her to be gentle.. I dont think she understood English because she treated me like a soldier would treat a prisoner.. I know I should have left.. But I thought it can only get better. My facial was so obnoxious I started laughing and fully expected candid camera to reveal themselves. My facial experience can only be described as how a dirty sink must feel like when it it scrubbed clean.. Or how a 2 year old would give you a facial... Very fast very vigorous and possibly violated every rule in cosmetology school. As I lay there.. (Ok at this point I was at fault for not stopping the obvious lack of skill) So as I lay there I had visions of how victims that have been violated must feel... I am not talking about the fact that I was being scrubbed everywhere... But the callous disregard for me as a human being. In addition to sniffing and coughing on me.. Her stomach flesh was rubbing on my arms as she did her magic😱.. Chatting in the scrub room amongst the practitioners is not good etiquette .. But quite common unfortunately . At the end of the nightmare she told me to shower and then she proceeded to strip naked and shower at the table😱😱😱. I felt like I needed therapy after all that. On my way out I informed the young lady at the front desk and she did not seem to be concerned at all. There is a sign at the door that relates to Healing Touch... Of which I am a certified practitioner. It was a joke because what I experienced was not kind or respectful. In my opinion ANNA should not be allowed to touch another human being .. EVER! I was checking the spa out because my co workers and I were looking for a fun spa experience which would have brought in lots of business.. But I cannot subject anyone else to that treatment ... Hopefully it was only ANNA thatch was so bad.. But I cannot take the chance on all my colleagues. Too bad!!
Clean, relaxing and a scrub down that left my skin glowing.
Great place to go sauna, steam, jacuzzi and relax. 5 stars because it also has a cold pool so you can go from sauna/steam to cold and back again. The extra scrub/massage service is a great way to give some self care. Place is clean and quiet. lockers with lock and key provided. They have a couch room with a TV, and a more oriental style relax room with bamboo mats on the floor to lie down and let go...
Ive been coming here for over ten years from Arizona. The spa is small but I come for Korean style scrub (which is supposed to be rough and abrasive) and oil massage. All the employees do a great job but Sarah and Anna are who I return to. They work very hard to scrub all the dead skin off, to the point they are sweating! Each time I leave, I feel rejuvenated and look like a brand new person. Thank you Aqua Day Spa.
Has the potential to be an amazing day spa. Sauna, steam room, Hot tub and cold tub plus Asian style massage and body scrub. However I was very disappointed that the salt scrub I paid for I did not include any salt. I asked twice about it and both times the lady evaded the question. Also they do not have adequate protection against slip and fall accidents. It is a very moist environment and there is no anti-slip strips on the floor. I saw one lady take a nasty spill while I was there.
Front desk lady was friendly. The actually bath house was tiny. Nothing like the clean and beautiful bath houses in Korea. For some reason i didnt get the right service either. I was supposed to get the body scrub and an oil massage but i only got the scrub while the lady wad coughing in my face. I could see dead skin on the table before i laid down. Never got the oil massage as she ushered me into some other room for a dry massage. I Will never go back here. Definitely not worth the money. The jjimjilbangs in Korea are 1000x better than what this was.
Im pretty sure this is the only Korean Day Spa in the county, but I could be wrong. Super clean, great massage therapists, saunas, jacuzzi and a cool plunge pool. What else could you ask for. Pay with cash and youll get a better deal. Also, read up on what a Korean day spa is before you book a service :) Go for the full treatment with a body scrub, massage, cucumber facial and milk bath. Absolutely heavenly!
I appreciate the snacks and the quiet lounge. The hot rooms are great.
Aqua Day Spa is a gem! Suzy, my therapist, was excellent. The body scrub and massage were the best I have had.
I received a scrub and massage from Kim and it was such a refreshing experience. Felt like a brand new human being. Kim was absolute magic and her hands, Wow wow wow. Definitely recommend !!
I don’t remember feeling this clean before! Thorough exfoliation and great massage, head to toe. Even hair felt so soft! Definitely coming back.
Very clean and well organized. They expect you to use the facilities in the nude......keeps chemicals and dyes out of the water. There are plenty of showers with an abundance of soap, shampoo and towels. You are expected to arrive at least 30 mins. early to shower, soak in jacuzzi or use the sauna or steam room. This softens your skin and makes the scrub easier on your masseuse. I loved my session and plan on returning at least every other month! Its a bargain! You are totally scrubbed (head to toe) and then given a wonderful massage! Its a 50 minute drive for me, but ohhhh soooo worth it!
Not impressed by this place. It was nice and relaxing I wasnt expecting high end services anyway. I paid for a scrub and massage + reflexology for 2 people. I didnt get the reflexology massage, it was included in the oil massage I guessed so couldnt tell what it was. I got ANNA and she was really rough. Didnt understand her very well cause her English wasnt good and it sounded almost rude but I think this is because she is not speaking English very well. However the lady at the front desk was super rude. I dont know why but she should review her manner and not bully people in paying more that they should or want. I was planning on coming back but I wont. The old lady at the front desk just spoiled the whole experience for us. Thats ashamed. I dont feel good about how she runs her business (and her employees). LOOK FOR SOME PLACE ELSE. where you feel people a treated with fairness. Not going back ever.
I came in for a scrub and massage. Paid the $90 and went back and changed. I was told the guy would come out and call my number when it was my turn. I sat down on the couch and fell asleep. Woke up 2 hours later with nobody calling me. I had to go, so I got dressed and went back to the front desk and asked for a refund. She would only refund $70 saying it was my fault I was not called. I will never return here again. I got screwed out of $20 for sleeping.
This was my first time going to a spa. I had heard great things about spas, but as I learned not all spas are great apparently. The fellow at the front didn’t speak English well enough that his answers to some simple questions were comprehensible. No notices were posted that this is an entirely nude spa. As this was my first time to a spa this definitely set me back a bit. I had read that swimsuits are optional unless stated otherwise. No where was this stated and was promptly dressed-down by one of the masseuses who was giving a nude massage right next to the hot tub.. but once again didn’t speak English. I find that odd in and of itself that it wouldn’t be in a private room. But I have no reference so maybe it’s not? No towels or robes were allowed beyond the locker room door.. so what’s the point?I had just wanted to relax in a hot tub for some lower back discomfort from running and cycling but clearly this was anything but relaxing. The hot tub was tiny and greenish in hue as well.No attempts were made to explain anything, because no one spoke English. Being berated when you didn’t follow the non-communicated procedures left me feeling raw and a bit angry.I immediately went and redressed and asked for my money back. To their credit they gave me my 20$ back but they also didn’t ask why I was malcontent. So perhaps they will read this and make more effort at customer service, then again probably not.
The mens side is passable as a spa. Its small but clean enough. Not enough towels. From what I hear about the womens side the experience is far less agreeable. The tight quarters are made that much less relaxing by the loud and intrusive masseuse workers who use the womens side to store their stuff and congregate. The spa is specifically for relaxation, so if there is anything that takes away from that it is unacceptable. Especially for $20.
Staff are Very very rude and unwelcoming also very poor costmer service . They use same towel they use on poeple faces to clean chairs and table with . Last time I witnessed 2 staff were making fun of a white big lady . They thought no one will understand their language. They uses lots of chemical on jacuzzi my friends got skin desease from that spaI myself was over charged twice for a same day thank god my husband noticedI won’t recommend aqua spa to any one decent who wants to pay money to enjoy a spa dayThank you
This place is totally awesome! I first thought it was only for women, but they actually have a separate section for men, which includes one sauna, one steam room, one hot Jacuzzi, one cold Jacuzzi, a lounge room with TV and green tea, and showers with shampoo, conditioners, shaving creams, etc. - all for $20 per visit or $15 per visit if you buy 10 tickets in advance. The spa is very clean, you have to remove your shoes (which is good) and you cant wear anything inside (other than clean towels, which are provided). Its usually not too busy and its a great place to relax, sweat out all your toxins and problems, improve your skin and train your immune system. I just dont understand why they have separate sections for men and women? Arent we all adults? After a while it becomes a bit annoying to be in the same room with men only and it would be really nice if I and my wife could use the same sauna...
Was a little hesitant at first but I was given a gift certificate here for my birthday so I thought Id give it a try the salt scrub and massage was absolutely incredible Im a bit ticklish so I wasnt sure if Id be able to handle it without jumping all over the place but the gentleman that did the scrub and rub was very professional and used a heavy hand I loved it my skin felt amazing afterwards I highly recommend this place and the salt scrub too
If you live in San Diego and are not Korean, then you can skip this review. But if you travel from countries who understand the power of a bathhouse, steam room, cold tub, sauna. Then this is an oasis in a balmy desert sunny beach location. If you come from one of these cultures or places, then I need say no more. They have all of this in a completely safe, sex segrefated, and supervised environment, a pass is a mere 20 dollars. A lot? No my friend, I think not, if you know and understand and like me, NEED A STEAM. 10 passes for 150 for the longer stay. If you live here and somehow ignored me at the beginning. Well check it out on a truly hot and or miserable day. You wont regret it. Just do yourself and me a huge favor and keep it on the DL... Between friends and those who are worthy. There simply arent enough of them in San Diego to go around if word gets out...
If you are used to the moroccan bath houses, this place will not disappoint. The scrub and the messages are great. I only wish they offered or allowed one to use natural mud or henna as part of the ritual.
Its a pretty okay spa.
Amazing as always. Mornings are best and you can have the placee to yourself! Always fabulous service.
I went there specifically for the cold plunge and it wasn’t cold at all. It was about as cold as my shower. Very disappointed and I will not return.
I have not been back in a year but I still tell others due to the fact that after leaving there I felt so brand new and happy. I am deciding now rather or not to go back and I believe that is the best decision to make.
Is this place closed? Called 10am 3xs this morning to book a massage but no on answered.
Anna is wonderful.... for the last seven years, I have visited her monthly for a wonderful body massage and scrub. Her expertise and knowing of the body is incredible!
I only did the day pass here, however it is very relaxing. The staff is very helpful and its got a gym of pool and a great Wi-Fi connection for those who work from home.
Very clean with smiling, personable employees. I had Laura for my visit and loved everything she did. Ill go back soon and bring friends!
Arrived to enjoy the spa, but find the 3 hour time limit to be ridiculous. I have never been to a korean spa with a limit like that, and they have all been bigger/nicer and a very similar price. go to yu spa down the street.
One of the single best experiences of my life. Got the 90 minute massage and scrub and it was magical. Highly recommended!
Its a great place, i didnt get a membership. Due to i was not staying that much longer. ( they do offer ur gym & relaxing pool and hot tub in the price.
Its my go to for any spa treatments. Been going there for years and I love it. You have to be comfortable with nudity but its only females.
Love it,feels so good afterwards
First time going and it was AMAZING! I will definitely be going back. June was very nice and the scrub and massage was really good!
Love spending a few hours relaxing in the dry and steam saunas and my favorite is the red clay room. If you have a chance to get a body scrub, do it!
This place is amazing and offers a great package. The body scrub plus massage is amazingly.
Best body scrub I have ever had. My skin was so soft and smooth. You should really try it. So relaxing.
Finally I found a cold plunge which is really cold, very refreshing after a hot sauna. Scrubbing was done very well, I enjoyed every moment of it.
Just went for a scrub and a massage took my daughter paid 220.00 for the services upon leaving the laidies that performed the service gave us envelopes with there names on I gave my daughter some cash to put in the envelope and on our way out I was stopped by the woman at the desk asking me to give the laidies more money I was outraged as I have paid for a service. she proceeded to tell me that the laidies work hard and deserve more I was unaware I was responcires for paying your employees wages this tipping thing has gotten out of hand not even sure if they understand what a tip means To Insure Promtness not thanks for the good job I dont expect to be paid by customers for my hard work, but my employer I guess businesses want to keep all there proffit and expext the customer not only to pay for the product but also to pay again for there staff I am never going there again ridiculous
1st time going to the day spa, just what my body needed, hot steam, them cold water plunge, back and forth for two hours! Definitely going back again soon..
Simply Thee Best, Do you want to feel Brand new too? Soak, steam, scrub, massage, wash hair, Rinse... WOWZERS
I love these woman, they do a remarkable job. Perfectly clean, comfortable, and unlike anything I could do for myself. Thank you Ladies🌻
Worst massage I have ever had and the staff was so unprofessional felt like I was forced to pay extra money and all cause I listened to the good reviews went in thinking it would be a good experience I was wrong.
My favorite place to get a scrub! The ladies work hard! Tip them well they deserve it
It was so relaxing, I cant wait to get back there again. 25 bucks for two hours. Me and a buddy went and we were the only ones in there.
They dont miss a spot when scrubbing. I was reborn, whole new layer of skin. I loved it.
Loved the facility. The staff seemed unfriendly and did not offer any help to a first time visitor, even when informed of that. That is the only reason they didnt receive 5 stars.
I was uncomfortable with thire rules, the massager was too tough and She gave me few bruises on my back. The staff were extremely rude and unwelcoming, bad servesI’ll never go back again.
Request Lucy! She was wonderful! Made me feel safe relaxed and rejuvenated.
I always have a good experience when I go there. Its not big but the attendant keeps clean and give good body scrubs.
Amazing day at the spa, the body scrub and massage is a great deal and it really helped me recovery from a hard workout.
I really enjoyed this spa and to just have a day to relax. The people were awesome and I enjoyed the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi!!!
Nice place to relax. Enjoy the experience of a Korean spa. Best value for the money.
Solid Sunday scrub and massage place. The massage is nice although would prefer more options to select different types of massages.
A great spa! Love the scrubs, I feel so squeaky-clean after them! The facilities always look clean.
Very difficult to understand most of what they are saying but once you get the hang of it, its all good. The place is clean and busy. A good price for what you get.
Korean bath house. it has the hot/cold pools, steam and sauna room and showers. Nothing very special on the mens side. Might be better for females.
Please update your closing hours. If you close at 9:00 PM, then that’s what should be online. Not 9:30 PM
I love that sauna! Clean, quiet and very good steam!:)
On behalf of my wife, who went to this spa.Excellent job done by Ana. Massage was outstanding. Recommend this spa to anyone.
I really wish they had as much space as the Irvine Korean spa!
Must be comfortable being fully naked in front of others. Highly recommend though.
Great experience. Ample parking. Pleasant staff and facilities were exceptionally clean. Very relaxing.
I think the massage therapists are underpaid, but the spa is good enough. I hope they take care of their staff better soon.
First time here and great experience. Very professional, clean, and accommodating.
Small day spa, clean and taken care of... its small but it gets the job done.... I just wish it was bigger like the ones in Korea
Place to ease your mind and pamper your body. I have been here 3 times already and Im going back for mothers day:)
Great place. RUBY is best hands there. Only lady that is kind, courteous and understands English..

The best massage and body scrub I have ever had!! LOVED it.
Very clean, intimate space and well kept. Staff are very courteous and are willing to assist.
Great Korean spa, highly recommended! Scrub and oil massage are terrific!
My shoulder was really stiff for months. After the massage I can finally move it!
First time here, and to get 4 stars off the bat.....not to shabby ADS. Eva.....took exfoliation to another level😊. Ill be back.
Awesome massage, body scrub, facial, they even wash ur hair for a great price
If your Idea of relaxing includes the guy next to you in the sauna jerking off then this is your place
I love getting the body scrub from this place! The lady was rough and thats how I like it.
Best spa treatment for your money.100 bux for scrub, massage and mask.
I wish there was a proper area to relax for men though
Absolutely wonderful from the time I walked through the doors to the time I left. Unregrettable.
Great stop over in San Diego. Nice friendly staff. Parking could be difficult though
Pretty good spa. They have scrubbing and also massage
Did not like this place. Rude and annoying front desk lady. Cold dry sauna and it smelled like bleach in the steam sauna. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Because getting a quick rub down will make you feel shiny and new!
Body scrub after hot bath and sauna is great for relaxation.
Small but good place. I enjoy massage there
I called to schedule an appointement,i was still asking questions and their rude customer service rep hanged up on me !!!!
My skin has never felt so smooth!! I will absolutely be back
Get the massage and scrub , all your dead skin will be gone and you will loose a half pound
Get the full massage and scrub. It’s incredible!
This place is the bomb! My skin is so, so, so soft! Its a must try!
I love this place to come and relax. Please be respectful of others and keep your voices down.
100% recommend, Ive only been twice but I have yet to be disappointed.
The best massage, scrab and care of my body. Thank you very much!!
I was looking for Turquoise with silver ring finally I found it here
Most exilerating experience EVER!
Best onsen like spa in San Diego.
Everything, absolutely the best place to relax and great staff and the best red clay sauna.
Always so revived after treatments! Comfortable and professional.
A hard scrubbing with some abrasive pads. There will be no dead skin left on you.
Expensive but you need to experience the Korean scrub at least once in your lifetime.
Relaxing and such a steal for the price. Will go back here every time I’m back in town.
Enjoyed my time there. Definitely will be back again.
Its clean and comfortable. It is good place to relax.
Very relaxing environment. Clean professional and inviting.
Best value for amazing full body scrub and massage.
Incredible experience, can’t wait to go back!
Definitely not what I expected. Too rough, and very impersonal.
Love this place. Great service and experience.
Great experience!
Totally Relaxing, Jacuzzis, steam and sauna great!

The price is very expensive and the service is bad and not clean
Very clean and good service
