Energetic and great vibes! Enjoyed dancing and singing to Diva Feva tonight with my family and friends! Appetizers are delicious and the mix drink tasted great. Servers are so attentive and friendly. The venue has 2 storey sitting, with 2nd floor being open to the 1st floor and the stage. Parking could be very difficult, theres no parking lot allocated for the venue so theres a street parallel parking or nearby businesses parking.
Super busy place, the live band Hell Belles bring a full crowd.Good sound and visibility to the stage, good sitting space, and plenty of room to stand. With two bars, the wait for the drinks was acceptable, great cocktails and decent prices. Their live band program is awesome, lots of variety and usually good bands.
Saw Coco Montoya here this month with the Joel Astley Band opening the show. This was our first time here and we got in line at 7 pm when the doors opened. There was quite a crowd in front of us but once we got inside a nice lady we met in line led us right upstairs and we got great chairs in the front row of the balcony. The place did seem close to capacity but never too crowded. The dance floor was busy all night but we had maybe the best seats in the house to take it all in. Both bands were excellent and the crowd was appreciative. For us, the bonus this evening was how well behaved and and respectful everyone was during the evening. It may have been the higher then average age but our experience this night at Jazzbones was perfect.
Great staff, Saturday night was some hardcore heavy metal bands, some wild crowds alrhough staff was incredible hamdling it n had respect for the patrons! Bartenders were super cool n funny, laughter n joking around but fast service as to satisfy everyone buying drunks n food there! 5 stars 🌟 plus in my book!
Great music venue! The space is great with 2 floors. The main floor has the stage, table and booth seating, bar and dance floor. Upstairs is the balcony with seating and views of the stage. They also have a large screen projecting the stage view. There is also another bar upstairs. They have a lot of great tribute bands and other music. They also have DJs at times. The service was great and staff was friendly. I had a BLT sandwich for dinner, which was really good. It had plenty of bacon and also came with lots of fries with several dipping sauces. I actually wasnt able to eat it all as there was too much. Prices for entrees were between $10-15 for most.
Bought my general admission tickets online 2 months ahead. General admission was the only option offered. Drove 2 hours, got there an hour early, and the whole ground floor was reserved. They told everyone to take the upstairs seats, including an elderly woman who was using a walker. Upstairs seats include a wooden plank attached to the wall (see pic). Will not be coming here again.
The band didnt start playing until 9:30 after advertising it for 9 pm. Since it was in the middle of the week, that makes a really late night for some people. Not all of us can stay up that late. Also, there were probably only 20 people in all. And I wish all my friends would have shown up like they were supposed to.
Cool place to have a drink around a diverse crowd of people on a Friday night!,there is an upstairs level area and bartender with an engaging personality which I like!!😁🍸🍹🍺
I saw a performance last night with Non Jovi, and they were very good, however there wasnt enough places to sit so we had to stand the four hours thru the show. No parking either. I bought my tickets online three weeks ago so maybe they should have enough tables for the tickets they sell.
Went to a show here. Had a couple of beers. Music was good. Lighting was not great. Had a good time.
What a great time dancing to Gimme Shelter a Rolling Stones cover band. They were really good. The server was very attentive and friendly, drinks were great and we had Nachos which were okay. The only complaint was when looking on Google for when the doors open it shows 7:00 pm. We arrived at 6:30 pm to get in line so we could get a good seat. Unfortunately the doors didn’t open until 8:00 and no one inside bothered to tell us. So we and quite a few others stood outside in the cold for an hour and a half!!!! Fix the hours on Google!!
Your security guard is the rudest. He has anger issues. I’m never coming back here! He treated us awful and took and dumped the drinks we had just bought. He kicked us out because they were closing when there were still people inside. He said the place closed at 12 am and Google clearly says 1 am. It was 12.15 am. Besides why would they sell us drinks if they were about to close? He cussed us out and was very violent. The idea of a karaoke band is amazing but when you go and sing on stage, you cannot hear yourself, so you have no idea if you are being heard by others or if you are singing well or nothing. Bar tender and the girl in charge of karaoke were ok. The guy checking IDs (maybe security guy or bouncer) though, who is just an old guy with long hair, had anger issues and I really felt threaten when he was yelling and cussing us out. He wouldn’t listen any of what we had to say and didn’t care. This happened last Wednesday 2/7/24.
Awesome band but overall they need to update their venue.
My first time here was for the DOA show. I was really impressed with how the spacing was set up for covid. The sound was much better than expected. The gallery upstairs was cool, it featured Jazz artists of color— they truly have an eclectic dynamic going on. The staff was super accommodating, and they offered solid drink and food options for a place like this. Ill definitely come back when they bring another artist that I want to see.
Appreciated the diversity of the crowd. All walks of life, dress up or dress down do what your comfortable with. First time in the place, and the flyer for upcoming entertainment looked to be all over the spectrum. Rap, jazz, comedy, rock, dj. I didnt eat but food looked decent. Drinks were cheap. Main floor was crowded we arrived after the show had started but discovered an upstairs area with another bar upstairs. (Possibly used for VIP for some events). If open, a good place to go if you would enjoy getting out of the hype. Good views of dance floor and stage up there. Liked the funky vibe of art murials painted on the walls .
If you are into older metal like slayer and Judas priest last night was awesome. Staff are really good at what they do food was great music was great. There was just a couple people who were idiots and had a little talk with their hands but the bouncers were all over it. Had it under control quick. Great place to hang out
My husband and I were there for the first time the other night for Cashed Out. We had a good time, and it was fun watching the people dance. My pulled pork sandwich was one of the best Ive ever had. The reason for only 3 stars, they are short staffed, and it took an hour and a half to get that sandwich. Also parking is horrible. Our waitress was really sweet, and she worked her butt off as she was literally the only one on the floor. Tickets were reasonably priced. Would I recommend going ? Sure, if you like bar/ tavern atmosphere. Will I go back ? Probably not.
Smelled of urine and stale beer. And we all ended up with upset stomachs from eating the food. Will not be returning.
Music was pretty good. Didnt know they would play Green day for the 1st 45 min.The nachos I wouldnt order again. They dont use tortilla chips, they use old taco bowl shells cut up. Mine were old and greasy. The cheese wasnt melted all the way, and they were not warm at all..
Had a blast two great 😃 tribute bands. Dio and Ozzy. Great food.
Went for an after-party. Good vibe. Place definitely can use more ventilation. They opened the top level, which was exciting, I would like to go back. Food was on POINT! And the jello shots were creative and delicious
Quirky small pub with live bands, but odd layout to see the stage. Parking is an issue.
Went for a show and the wait staff never once came to our table but visited every table around us. Drinks are not great and the sparkling wine was disgusting and one glass still had lipstick on it. Food looked basic, but fine for the price and service to the people that were actually able to order was extremely slow. Parking is scarce (street parking only and theres a lot of competition from neighboring businesses). Would take a really special performance to get me back there and even then Id think twice.
I came here for their Altered 90s NYE party with a friend, and it was a blast! We ate food first - we were very happy with all the appetizers (highly recommend the fried artichoke). The staff were fantastic, the music was perfection, and the event space is incredible. I look forward to returning for another night!
First time I went had a BLAST. Great music, good mix of people, wonderful atmosphere, etc. Recently though....dont know what has changed but it is now SO BORING. No cover charge though. Very limited options for Karaoke. Were all so tired of with arms wide open.No Selena? No Celia Cruz?Running it like its the 80s and youtube doesnt exist. Why should 1 annoying person with questionable taste in music curate a song list for an entire bar full of people? The young people in the table next to us looked so bored - like they were in a Math class. If I hear that yall have come around to 2023 with the rest of us I will delete this. Bathrooms were clean, but in need of repairs.Go to Bobs. They have all the songs!!
We were here on Halloween for Rockaroke, the band was amazing as usual, the MC was AWFUL. She ruined the entire night for us. IF we come back, we’ll look for her and turn right back around out the door if we see her.
Very cool venue for live music. The owner, Rachel is an amazing person too!
I am admittedly not much into the club scene nor being in crowds of drunk people.Plusses: Great name! The Chipotle Caesar and service were excellent.Minuses: The sound system didnt do the music justice. Place was packed.I was there with good friends, and Mysterious Ways was amazing, making it all worthwhile!
Went to see Randy Hanson. He played a great show. It was awesome being able to be so close and meet him in person. The staff were friendly and attentive. The prices of food and drink are good too, not over priced in my opinion.
It has been my 5th Wed night here for Rockaroke. No one in my group ever gets picked to sing. But the same great singers get picked multiple times. They all sound amazing. But we arent there for a performance, we are there so we can sing too and have fun. That is what karaoke is. If you want to have a night to showcase good singers...do that. But let us amateurs have a chance to sing with a band. Im sick of watching the same great singers being picked over and over above who has signed up. It should be next in line and based if you have sung or not. Do I have to give a lecture on the perils of favoritism? Be better. Its a great concept but please, play fair. Great singers can sing, but they should wait in line too.
Well the 1st time I ever went 2 this place 4 the 🎊Mardi🎉Gras🎊theme🎉party🎊 & me👤 and my 2👥 friends were the only ones decked out in mask🎭, beads, the whole shabam Mardi Gras attair✅💯... Should be ashamed of urselves😝.... But @ least me & my friends look cute tho😋 & I give props 2 the 🎧dj💽 🎶Music🎶 was crackin!
Yesterday 4/6/23 I bought 4 tickets to see Natalie and Friends. The place had a great vide Dj was killing it. Natalie and Dj Sky was amazing. The bad part was the customer service at the bar I do understand that they are over worked and that the music is so loud that you cant here but two people that were working upstairs bathroom was were extremely rude. I felt like the didnt want to be at work and there Attitude puts the atmosphere in a negative space. And that makes you not want to be there. So we left were we could get better customer service
Went for a performance, and the headliner was jammin! The place is nice, the drinks are lit & bartenders are quick. AA be warned, this is one of those places where WP feel comfortable dropping the N bomb. One of the Anglo-American performers opened with a song that had the word in it multiple times. His whole swag was cultural appropriation with a splash of local, so I should not have been surprised. I really thought WP had better sense in the PNW. Aside from him, the other performers were good, the headliner gave us all of him and we had a good time. Maybe management will better check artist about the disrespect, or maybe they are cool with it. Not sure if I will go back.
Had a good time. Liked the atmosphere. Prices were good for show, food and drinks. Ill go back.
First time here and what a great time. The place was packed but the crowd was really friendly. The bartenders were so busy but even being slammed, tried to take care of everyone and even remember what youre drinking. We ordered food and it took a bit but understandable on a packed Friday night. The bands were amazing and although the dancefloor was packed, everyone was there for a great time. There was someone who tried to mix it up on the dancefloor and security was all over it and handled it quick and professional. Well definitely be back. So much fun!
Place is really small and unless you are first in line and get a table close to the stage the seating sucks. You are either bumping knees with people at tables or upstairs where the viewing is terrible. The staff was awesome, good food, cold beer but honestly probably the worst place I have ever been to see live music
Great time. One of the few places where you can sing karaoke with a live band instead of a YouTube karaoke video, so thats a plus. Wish they open till late on weekday (visited the place on a Wednesday and they closed at midnight.) but overall my visit was great.
A 5 Star night at the Jazzbone who hosted Randy Hansen and his Jimi Hendrix tribute band.. The drinks and waiting staff were spectacular . The cost of admission ($30) with 2 shots of cuervo and a tangueray and water was $54😦
Came here for live music with family. They are on point with what time they open the doors and we were standing outside freezing and they still wouldnt let us until the actual time they opened. I will have to say the problem I have is as busy as it was for a Friday night and a live band… they were not staff to get food out Quick or to get the drinks served timely. Our ratress had to be reminded of something as simple as filling water glasses for those who only ordered water and food as well as our soda glasses for those of us who do not drink alcoholic beverages. However I will have to say those of us who did drink alcoholic beverages were served very quickly...
Had a great time at Jazzbones tonight. Went to see Randy Hansen, he always puts on a great show. Ordered bacon cheese fries, was a good amount of food, very tasty. Wait staff were attentive & super friendly. Always enjoy Jazzbones. Got there early, found on street parking close by, would recommend that. There was a line, but went quickly. Looking forward to our next visit to the iconic Jazzbones!
Good music, good food and good libations. A pleasurable evening
Went to see The Queers and Teenage Bottlerocket. Two great bands, plus some guest singer guy from some Bremerton band, showed up(heard hes kinda famous). Hahaha, Hi Mike. Only saw Rachel Hogan once for a split second, just as I was leaving. Hi Rachel! But hey, drinks are how you want them, and food is able to be eaten. Sit where you can and stay there. Jello shots are there(but I forgot my poprocks). Staff is not an infection, but they are nice indeed. Ok, bye.
One of my favorite venues to go! Upstairs drink lines are usually crazier and slower then downstairs. I see bunch of Hawaii people like to go there, and that makes me feel home😌💕 There are extra bathrooms upstairs, it’s kinda hidden 😆
It was fun full of space and fast service
The venue is a lot of fun. Weve attended a number of reggae concerts and the atmosphere is always on point. The food is good. The bartenders get you taken care of. I like the two levels. Theres a dance floor and bar on the first floor and then a bar and viewing/seating on the second floor. Weve always had a great time.
Fun place for music and dancing. They cover all genres so if it’s a style of music you like, you’ll have a great time! We have always found the entire crowd to be friendly and welcoming regardless of age.
What can I say, The first time and last time there, small and dumpy, especially the bathroom! $40 a person to watch Nesian Nine, and hardly any parking, not worth it.
We had a great time here. It was nice that there was two floors with separate bars. When up on the top floor I kind of felt like VIP. The only issue was the drinks were a bit expensive at about $14 each and they do not sell beer by the pitcher but I guess that may be typical for a club.
So happy to see this historic establishment survive! My favorite place in Tacoma hands down. Ladies night on Thursday’s got me through some very growing times a few years back. Staff is always on point with excellent safety eyes and the couple that owns it deserve all the success of the world. Keep the music up guys, we out here and we love you.
I really had a good time at Jazzbones. The drinks are good. The wait staff is attentive both before the show and during the show. I really didnt have anything to eat but as the waitresses were bringing out food the other tables it really look good. The sound system was good both from the main floor and the balcony. It was my first time there so parking was a little difficult cuz you had to park in on the street in the neighborhood but I sense if you can figure out whats going on in the area you can probably find some pretty good spaces to part too.
Pretty decent venue. Just wish the sodas were larger at the nye event
Good little get together joint, rock out rap.. down HIP HOPPITY around, whateva genre boogie woogie tunes youre feeling-venue101 right here
We were at Jazzbones July 3rd for the 80s band Nite Waves. They put on a great show. Our waiter was totally awesome! Guy worked so hard taking care of all his tables. The food was so good Three of us had the blue burger and it was so delicious. It was a full house and all the employees gave it their all to make the guests evening special. Great place!
Went here for a show. The food is great
Yesterday was first time going to Jazzbones. I saw a flyer that said 80s 90s party 10 pm no cover. We get there and they get mad cause we wont pay 15$ to watch a band for 3 mins. Then its 10 and they still wont let us in. I said isnt this false advertisement and ur bouncer said well you just dont even need to come in at all. Mad at us for being right? So u lost us two and the people behind us were first timers also and heard the way we were being treated so they left too. Very disappointed. Just wanted a fun night out with friends. Thanks for the rudeness.
Fun little bar! We ended up here for my birthday. Low key spot with decent hip hop music and song requests actually get played. People were on the dance floor all night but it wasnt overcrowded. $3 jello shots. What more can you ask for?
Great venue! Clean...good seating options near the stage and a nice staff.
Security guys were rude to my friends and I. One guy in particular called us old. Regardless if they are security, have some manners. You are still representing a business that we will not go back to.
Love the seating. Very easy to see band. Food is good & prices are average. Saw Randy Oxford Blues Band is Amazing. Dance floor is fairly small but, everyone enjoys dancing right in front of the live band, and you still can easily see the whole band. Great atmosphere and pleasant crowd. Arrive early to find a parking.
This place doesn’t deserve any stars at all. The security guard is RACIST! My friends and I were getting our ID’s check. last night we weren’t able to get in because “our ID’s looked the same”. My friends and I are not related at all! Like what in the world is this? DO NOT COME HERE!
It is a pretty good bar. The staffs service was polite and fast. They have a good size dance floor. The DJ the night I went was pretty good plays alot of hiphop which is pretty typical. The bar has a very friendly atmosphere. I did not eat any of their food so I dont have any applicable info on food quality.
How to do alot with very little. The inside waitresses/bar tenders/Problem solvers do it all. They are obviously short staffed but manage to run a tight with service that is a step above stellar.
This is a nice place to go for a night out. The people that work there are nice the music is great drinks are good and well mixed and reasonably priced. They also have cool jello shots in a large syringe which makes it fun. I would definitely go here on a regular basis with my friends
Had an amazing time at the Too Slim and the taildraggers show! The drinks and food were soooo good. The plates are huge and the price is right. Looking forward to attending more concerts in this venue. 🌞
Great spot, super cool second level with plenty of space. The dance floor in front of the stage is large as well. Would definitely go back.
Went to see Hells Belles! Wow! Show up early if you want a table. There is a VIP section that I will look into getting next time. It is a great energy in the room because it isnt huge. There is an upstairs section that has two rows of seats almost like a theater wit a view right to the stage and its own bar. Downstairs there are 8 tall tables and two short tables and a open area to the stage. The food seems pretty good, probably better hot, ours was cold but the server, whom was doing a great job being the ONLY server, was very busy and doing her best!My only suggestion is have more servers.WILL BE BACK!!!
Extremely fun place! No crazy dress code. The bucket drink is definitely my recommendation!!! Smooth and great price. Dj’s where playing old school and new school hip hop. Made me reminisce on every track they played. Two floors with tons of space so you don’t feel all packed w/people bumping in to each other all sweaty. Great place. Definitely recommend if ur in the nice part of Tacoma.
Fun atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful. Inviting, definitely going back
Im going to start making this a regular spot to hang out. Who doesnt love live music (especially a Beatles tribute band) and a cocktail? I had so much fun dancing and watching the band play. I would come back to see any upbeat group perform. I would walk past Jazzbones thinking it was closed due to the pandemic, but it is actually bumping inside. I also enjoy that it is not overly packed.
Just a great place to dance and have fun! Lots of live bands its 😎
The band is amazing!!!! And theyre so nice and fun! I had a blast! I highly recommend going there!!!!!!!!
Went on a Friday night expecting the place to be active but it was pretty dead. The music was horrible. Drinks were good, did order food and it was ok at best.
Came here to support a friends band and had a nice time. Drinks were appropriately priced and the pizza was good. The other bands that played werent for me, but my friend seemed like he had a nice show. Ill need to go back for a comedy show sometime.Food- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Decor- ⭐⭐⭐⭐Service- ⭐⭐⭐⭐Price- ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great music! Loved the entertainment, awesome place to enjoy a good drink and meet up with friends. Definitely would come back.
Always have a great time here. Yeah, the service can get slow, agreed. But, the staff has been friendly to me always so no issues there. Great place to see live music. Not a bad seat in the house.Been going there for years.
Heavy pours. Definitely a plus. Fast if you go to the bar to buy. An hour and ten minutes to get food. Some servers say its because everything is cooked from scratch (ha). Just dont go theth to eat, however my starter was delicious once I finally got it!! That review below...I believe it. I dont think Id ever spend that much money for a booth there. Overall furniture is...fair at best. Like youre in a garage.
Interesting crowd. Live band was good! DJ was good. Its not a bad place but it isnt a great place. Its just your average bar. We went on St Pattys and it was crowded, but not like we expected.
Great bar menu with two huge bars. One upstairs and one down. Pulled pork nachos were to die for and huge portions to share with freshly made chips. Have seen many concerts here and door staff as well as bartenders and wait staff always very friendly.
We enjoy going to Jazzbones for smaller venue music events. We always have a good time, staff and the other music patrons are friendly!
I absolutely love the jello shots I love. The music had people dancing but one issue we put in a request for a song because all they were playing with rap we love listening to all types of music we traveled very far to try this place and would love to have been able to listen to more than one song that was Mexican music when I put my request for a Mexican song they ignored it and put other songs on that people requested I kind of felt discriminated against and my three other friends wish they would have Incorporated more mixed-race music so people wouldnt feel left out
They have good drinks. Music varies and is is dependent on the person. Its not my type of bar. Its oddly seated. No waitresses that I noticed during weekends nights Ive been.
It was dark and lifeless in this bar unfortunately. They had a fantastic band that came a long ways to perform for Tacoma. I am not sure why they didnt heavily advertise the band that night. Total missed opportunity. The venue is was just lacking enthusiasm and respect for the fantastic band they had performing.
I have been going to Jazzbones over the years. It used to be a lot of fun. Mixed crowds, lots of dancing, they served sushi, drinks excellent. When I went this last time it wasnt busy until midnight. The crowd was rough. The DJ wasnt good at all. The songs didnt transition well and he would change the song every 20 seconds. Music was old or unknown. The DJ did more texting than being a DJ and interacting with the crowd. People we sitting on the ledge of the stage bored and texting. The bathroom toilet was unstable. Needs updating all the way around. Upside was the drink specials were excellent and staff was friendly.
This place is f***** up. Purchased a booth for 10 people for $400 that included a house champagne and $100 worth of food. Tried ordering a grey goose bottle service for $250. The menu that Rachel emailed stated that the bottle service included 18% gratuity. During the Sammy J event, Joe, the so called manager said 18% gratuity meant charging for it. I told him that is not right. Eventually he said sorry that is wrong and that happens and he cant honor it. He told me he wont listen to me anymore. I eventually told the waitress II wanted to speak with Rachel. A representative for Rachel showed up to hear me out but didnt really. I explained to her and the security guards the situation and they kicked me out for stating the facts. What type of establishment does that.
This place is super fun for some of their themed events. The staff is on point. Management is always respectful and friendly. Recently I went there and they were having a day event for shopping. Jazzbones always has something going on for any genre of music or party. There are 2 floors with full bars. Theres a nice size stage where there are live bands or a DJ playing. I strongly suggest to follow them on Facebook or sign up for emails to stay in the know. Oh! And the food is delicious! When we go we have never set food back or drinks. One more thing, if youre on a budget, no worries. They have free parties too. Thats right NO COVER to enter! If youre visiting the Tacoma/Seattle area definitely add this place as a place to go.
Live music was great - and Im sure their beer is cold, cuz my Irish coffee sure was - both times.I dont so much mind em using instant coffee for it, but they couldve actually stirred in the coffee crystals, or at least used hot water?
On New Year of 2019. The DJ was TRASH! He was not diverse in his music selection and I think other noticed that and kept leaving. He played dull music that people could not try get down to. It was lame. He played music that was too old and kept bouncing all over the place. I HATED it. Loved the place before this experience. Now I realize it is a hit or miss kinda place. Drink were good though
Lots of fun. Happy groovy crowd!! Excellent show🤙
Its cool except that the blonde bartender is terrible. She is the epitome of bad service. If shes working I might watch a show utility I wont buy drinks. I dont blame anyone for not tipping her. Otherwise its pretty cool.
The small blond bar tender was super rude. I felt very attack and profiled as she talked to me. I would not recommend this bar to anyone. All I did was ask to clarify my order and she talked down to me. On the bright side, good music. What a shame, I was on my vacation.
Has a good variety of music and events. Small dance floor makes for a cool and intimate setting with the performers and other crowd members. Good food and drink options as well.
Food was great quick and very filling. Couldnt believe the prompt serves especially during a Football Sunday game. Absolutely a new favorite for game days. Thank you Rosa for serving us.
I went for some drinks after work on Thursday night and had the worst experience ever, all the bartender were rud and unprofessional with taking orders they had the worse customer service, after buying one $25 drink they refuse to let me buy anymore and stated i was drunk because my eyes were red, then ask for water and they refuse to sell me and called secretary to kick me out. after gust being inside the bar for 30min. lucky its was still 11pm and easy to find a different bar that turn out to be better ! will never go back to Jazzbones or recommend that bad business to anyone till they change bar tender and service.
This place is a nice place for a full show experiment. Up close and personal. Pre funk tho. They serve mini drinks at full price. Bartender I had at bottom bar (girl w/ bleach blonde hair) had bad attitude the entire time for no reason. Im willing to pay good for good service not bad.
Had a blast. Bartender made me a drink after I told her my likes, and she smashed it out of the park! Had 3 bands in tonight which I loved, and it looks like the regularly have events there.
Great food and atmosphere. The drinks were affordable as well as the food and worth the price.I bought three food items and three drinks for a total of $46 and with even with a $10 tip I didnt break $60
This place has a great atmosphere. Lots of different people from military to college kids. Sometimes you can catch a cheap performance from one of your favorite 90s artists (I saw Coolio). On club nights its a pretty cheap cover and the DJ plays newer hip-hop music (so you can actually dance). If youre a guy thats looking to talk to girls you can usually find someone to talk to or dance with. Everyone is pretty friendly. Drinks are hit or miss for the price
Went for the haha Tuesday, it was hilarious and the food was delicious. The drink was good, had a fabulous time.
Always a great time here! Wait staff are quick, food was tasty, and the music of Too Slim and the Taildraggers had that jam-packed dance floor jumpin!!!!!
Not my scene.. with a name jazzbobes I didnt expect heavy metal.overall lack of ambiance and smallness. But the doorman was kind and reasonable. Also dislike the giant stamp for entry that is hard to wash off. Its the last thing I want my patients seeing when I return to work.
You know what? Sure, you feel like youre drinking in a high school gymnasium, but the other bars on 6th are either: closed, doing the whole thing wrong, or are staffed with less than optimum employees (probably due to the pressure of the pandemic, but whatever).Ive been warmly welcomed at jazzbones each, and every time Ive gone there during these trying times. Ive never been treated poorly there previously either, though my visits are rare.Give em a try...
Always a great time here! Ive been to numerous concerts here and its a great venue for live music. Fun people, atmosphere is awesome, bartenders are great and fast.
Live music - fantastic. Bartender aptitude and hustle - admirable. Drink selection and quality - good. Kitchen and food delivery - poor. Management and customer service - HORRIBLE.We were told last night that Jazzbones was under new ownership. And if our experience is any indication of how theyre going to run it, they wont be open long. Kicking out a large group of your target demographic (mature adults with plenty of disposable income) simply because they were vocalizing frustration at not getting food after over 2 HOURS was a bad decision.Chicken strips, grilled chicken skewers, and a quesadilla arent exactly difficult orders. And they were all on the specials menu, so youd think the kitchen would be cranking these out in quantity. After waiting an hour and a half and seeing everyone around us get their orders, I tracked down someone (turned out to be a sympathetic security guy) and asked for help. I expected him to bring over a manager, but instead he brought us a couple plates of cold food which amounted to half our order. The chicken strips were room temperature and rubbery, as though theyd been sitting out for an hour. The skewers were not only half the size of what wed seen others get, but they were actually cold. I could only guess theyd been frozen and inadequately cooked or reheated. Needless to say, none of it was edible. One of our party then went to a second bartender (who had finally arrived to help service the approximate 125+ people upstairs with us) and complained. That woman gave her some money back and said our order would be out immediately. Other customers seated near us overheard our conversation and told us the second bartender was part of the new ownership group. They too were experiencing poor service and improperly cooked food. After yet another half hour of waiting for food (during which we were solicited multiple times for jello and special drink shots) I went to the bar and asked to speak to the manager. The same 2nd bartender came over, and I asked about the status of our order. Once she realized I was part of the troubled party, she huffed dramatically and said it would be soon. By this time, I was in no mood for her attitude. I asked her why it took so long for such easy food (admittedly, I was cussing by now). She responded with more attitude than a spoiled 12 year old that she gave us back our money and was going to give us free food, acting like I should feel lucky for her generosity. She was now joined by the jello shot server who echoed her attitude and confrontational behavior. I then asked her for a little respect and apology for such horrible service. She and the server laughed in my face, shouted a sarcastic sorry, laughed again, spun in their heels and walked away.I went back to our table, told the rest of the group about the encounter, and resolved to take a picture of the manager/owner for a thorough social media review. She apparently saw me do this because a few minutes later, she came over smirking and told us we had to leave.Im almost 40 years old, and I have NEVER been treated with such disdain by a restaurant or bar. Nor have I ever been kicked out. Im not a big drinker, but I do enjoy live music with friends (preferably with food). Needless to say, Jazzbones will never get another dime from me, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this horrible experience.
Nice little hole in the wall, to have drinks and spend time with your friends. First time going last week and the music was good and the vibes were good. I really enjoyed myself.
I came in yesterday to buy tickets. The woman there didnt acknowledge me for 10 minutes and the other man in there asked if she shouldnt attend to me. She said she had no internet service and she didnt have any time to help me. She said there were plenty of tickets and by the time I got home the tickets were sold. I went in because I am handicapped and must sit. Very rude and poor service. The woman was about 40 and blonde.
Rosa was so great! We had a lovely brunch and mostly because of her. She was funny, attentive, and informative. The buffalo cauliflower is fabulous!!! We’ll be back for sure.
Last night my friend and I decided to go here after we were told it was a nice and fun place to go. When we got there they checked our IDs and then claimed my 25yr old friend had a fake id. Her id was issued by dmv but they were rude and claimed it was a fake and told us to leave before they call the cops. We then left and went to 2 other bars where we spent our money. Wont be coming here agian, to bad it looked loke a nice place.horriable first impression, Staff needs to be retrained on how to spot fake ids. When your claiming real ones are fake you need to be retrained.
Vintage picture of this great live music Venue!!!( ( just a couple years old lol) This is the spot on the weekends to spend time with friends, family, or just kickin by yourself. Bruce and Rachel have a pacific northwest gem that is a staple in the 6th ave bar district.
Went there after work with a couple friends and a bar tender by the name of Ashley was so rude and disrespectful. She charged me $18 for a drink. She didnt even tell me how much she was charging me until after he served it. I have visited this establishment before and never was i charged this much for a drink. She does not need to be employed there because the establishment is loosing good paying customers over her.
The bartender was really rude to me and one of the performers that I went to see. Then he told me later that she is the owner. He said he wont perform there ever again!
Love the place but unfortunately everywhere I sat I was to move I’m ill trying to enjoy what time I have left, and there’s not a lot of seating there I wish I would of known u could reserve but it seems there’s only maybe 6 seats where u can reserve.
Last weeks Joel Gibson Jr show was our first time at Jazzbones, but it wont be our last. Cool venue. Great layout. Lots of places to warm up nearby before the show.
Make sure you go to upstairs bar if you dont want too many crowds. Chill place. Good music. Good food. Easy fun night
Loved the band, acoustics were pretty bad and I couldnt even tell what song was playing. Seating is very very limited so get there early if you want to sit at all.
I went there for the first time monday night with three friends. We had went up to the bar to order and all handed over our IDs to the bartender(everyone in our party was 24+). He looked at mine for 2 minutes then took it to one of the cooks whom came out and informed us that I needed to leave because my Washington state issued drivers license was fake or they were going to call the cops. Im 24 years old and have been to loads of clubs and bars, ones that actually have the ID scanners. So if you have a young face dont bother going in there cuz theyre going to assume your ID is fake. And what blows the most is my friends were having such a fun time(this was not our first nor last club we went to that night) that I didnt want to ruin the night by sitting there and waiting for the cops so that they(the bartnender and cook) could apology for not knowing how to check IDs.
Went in last Sunday for brunch flr football and had the Three Little Pigs, highly recommend it. Tonight I ordered through UberEATS the Wings and Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. Food was delicious!
If you are looking for a good time in the Tacoma area then Jazzbones is the place to go! Such a great atmosphere and all the employees I have interacted with are very respectful and overall very nice. I haven’t had one bad experience at Jazzbones, it’s always such a great time.
Small venue awkward layout. Sitting very close to stage but couldnt see band. Bathrooms anything but clean (Oh and 2 ladies stalls w maximum capacity of 282 people?)
Watched Altered 90s for New Years there and enjoyed Rum buckets. A lot of fun and would like to return.
Pretty great place to see live music! Stage is kinda small but the room is big enough for everyone to see. Theres also an upstairs viewing area.
I love going to see Torre perform at Jazzbones - its a great place for live shows. I recommend the pizza, specifically The Tripper, its one of the best pizzas Ive ever had! The sushi is good too.
My boyfriend and I had a really good time at Jazzbones 80s night. Service was fast and it was really busy. Food was good also, lots of choices for mixed alcohol beverages.
Finally!! The chance to listen to live music and have a good drink.Jazzbones did a great job spacing out tables and offered tableside ordering while in phase 3.No dancing yetGreat food too!
This place was amazing I love the free-minded atmosphere and the bands that perform were great and the food and drinks as well thank you for an awesome experience for first timer at JazzBones
Got there Saturday around 7:50pm. Band checking the sound. Sit in the bar and nobody seemed to notice I was there. Not even an Hi. Went out without a word and had a beer in another place. Dont intend to return.
Great music venue, but tip for handicapped folks. Contact ahead to say youre coming and maybe even order your meal. Hard to maneuver a wheelchair and sloooow service for food.
One of the best places for live music in Tacoma
This establishment is discriminatory against persons with disabilities which are assisted by service dogs. In June it was a hot afternoon and I wanted a beer while walking my seizure alert dog, so I stopped in, upon paying for my minimum ten dollar debit purchase the bartender noticed my clearly marked dog. Took back my purchase did not offer me to refund my purchase but instead called the doorman over to throw me out. The doorman then threatened me with physical violence and told me if I did not leave he would physically assault me. The management, employees and their unlawful discrimination should result in substantial punitive procedures. In this day one should not be blantantly abusive towards their customers...I thought 6th Ave. was an accepting safe place for everyone. If you plan on having an event or attending one, just remember that they are bigots and used threats of violence against an obviously disabled citizen.
The band Steadyrock Cosmonaut was great! Downtown Chicago prices for Red Bull Vodka. Nachos were delicious.
This place was horrible! I had the worst experience when me and my family were just trying to have a good time at the Sammy j concert. We were kicked out for a advertisement they promoted and were trying to change things up on us and since we called them out about it then they became all defensive. Worst customer service. The manager is childish and does not know how to handle situations. Worst place ! Shame we spend so much money there !
Good music venue. Great crowd. Reasonable prices. And plenty of dance room. I was here for Halloween and they put on quite the costume contest.
Great place to listen to music. The food was good! Staff was friendly...great interaction with customers.
Great place . They make good drinks and also good music . Been there almost every thursday . Me and my friends goes here all the time . they make good malibu drinks that i dont really like before but bartenders at jazzbones make it really good. And to be honest i feel safe everytime i go here specially with all the security team around. Ive always had a great time .. Thankyou jazzbones.
A classic venue for music, dancing, drinks and tomfoolery. The kitchen is typically open pretty late as well and has a surprisingly varied menu for a place that is only usually open at night.
I have only been there once. I went to use the restroom and a young black person was in there with another person and they were snorting something.Although very involved in the Seattle music scene, I dont enjoy walking into a studio or a bathroom just to see people snorting drugs. Its just not the atmosphere I am looking for.
Good music venue. Ample seating. Big dancefloor. Full bar and food options. Friendly staff.
Awesome venue. !! Love the music and great service. Great food ! I will be back ! XO
Amazing ambiance and amazing food. Has an upstairs that has its own full bar and bathrooms.
Great food great service awsome venue with live music and theres even a up stairs with a view of the stage up front in your face entertainment 21 only full bar
Randy Hansen man!!! The best Ive ever seen!!!!! In my opinion the best guitar player there ✌️
Decent venue for music. Was not suitable for the wrestling show that I was there for. But the drinks were fantastic.
Very busy on Saturday night. It gets really packed quickly so you have to come early when they open. Live bands and DJs with a dance floor
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the drinks were good, but the atmosphere was lacking. Despite the staff I probably wouldnt come back here.
For the most part the live music is all ways good at jazzbones. Very informal club to have good time. Wear your jeans and best tees.
Fantastic show with the band Nite Wave -authentic 80 music! Danced for hours.
Its a good small venue to watch a band .2 Full service bars one being upstairs .I would go again if there is a band I wanted to see.
Fun place to spend for a night out or watch the Seahawks games. Food is great! The cauliflower wings are delicious.
Very rude and Bad customer service, my friend lost her wallet underneath the stage and instead of attempting to help us, they just kicked us out. And then when we asked to speak to the manager, she said she didnt have any time to talk to us.
The venue is a lot of fun. Weve attended a number of reggae concerts and the atmosphere is always on point.
Love the energy here definitely will be coming back for the live band karaoke
Friendly staff, great intimate music venue.. wish their online menus and calendars were more up to date.
Nice atmosphere, good drinks and decent staff.
Always a great time at Jazzbones. You can always count on great vibes, great drinks and great service! I highly recommend any night of the week, there will be something great to do!!!
The whole vibe seems labored.Needs some new life for 6th Ave.Maybe some new groups that arent in the PNW all the time. The area and club was dead on a Saturday night.
Really good customer service when not busy but they did what they co ukd when they can. Busy place and nice music. Even got a picture with security
Nice place to see bands. Food orders were large. I had a great time and tickets were cheap.
Great community of people, friends and new faces. The entertainment is good. Check out comedy nights, headliners and local bands too.
Always amazing service. Best shows and buckets for only 11 max its a good deal to get topzie turbee wood wreakomend too yo mommas lapoon nanny.
Good place to see a show, just the right size venue.
Great atmosphere, live music is always entertaining and great drink specials. One of my top spots.
Not bad overall. A bit cramped but upstairs allows a view of stage and dance floor below.
