Great massage! I’ve been going to the Knotstop for years, starting at their old location. If you’re looking for a really great deep tissue massage ask for Bobby. He did a fantastic job working out the knots in my back. I left after my 90 minute massage feeling like mellow jell-o. 🫠☺️

Ive had two massages here so far and both were fantastic. I was a little apprehensive to have a male masseuse but both Ozzy and Kevin were very professional and provided the style/pressure that I asked for.

I was so happy when I found Knotstop because it is genuinely very rare to find a place that not only offers both massage and facial services, but also EXCELS at both. They have a variety of massage therapists to meet a variety of needs; it took me a few visits to figure out who was best for me, but I think thats reasonable. The facials here are insane. INSANE.

What a gorgeous space! Ive been going to KnotStop since I was pregnant with my first baby, 14 years ago. The new location on fourth street is so serene and beautiful, I cant wait to go back. Myra really worked all my tight spots, Ill be booking with her in the future.

Great SPA studio.I have been a customer for many years and I love their Weekend warriors treatment. Awesome deep tissue mixed with stretching.I had a shoulder pain due to injury and Ian helped me recover fast. Highly recommended.Thank you!

5+ stars would recommend experiencing stretch therapy at the Knotstop! Some self-care days I stretch myself, and some days I receive an assisted stretch and what a game-changer for my flexibility. There are stretch positions that can only be achieved with the help of the knowledgable stretch therapist staff here at the Knotstop!

Sergey (at The Knotstop) is the probably the best massage therapist I’ve ever been to. I work out every day and have arthritis in my neck and back, so pain and discomfort is a way of life for me and he has been able to help me make major strides with relief so my muscles can do their thing to rest and repair.

My experience from start to finish was incredible! Very relaxing and clean space, friendly front desk (shout-out to Erin!), and the best massage Ive ever had with Sergey. Ill def be coming back

I had my 1st massage at the knotstop in April and joined the membership club after my massage. Loved my massage with Katie and been going back every month since then. Thank you to the knotstop, getting a massage with them eases my stress. Sometimes I even go twice and month and pay extra. Love them.

Ive had about 5 massages in my life and they been just fine which is why I dont often go. But after seeing Colette now Im going to go 1x/month. She gives an amazing therapeutic massage

Place is no good. I’ve had a few massages here. They were all whatever. I scheduled with Reyna and it was a horrible experience from the jump. Right when I see her, didn’t get a nice greeting, and she basically demanded “let go upstairs”. I stood on my feet working for 6 hours in the morning only to get attitude from a place I’m trying to relax at. From the few disgusting strokes I received, my back hurts already. Horrible energy. Avoid this place. Front desk chick didn’t care either. Place is A Walmart massage envy. See ya never.

I used to love this spot but recently they have gone downhill. I went today for a exfoliating facial and told him my problem areas. I left today with still clear spots where he didnt exfoliate at all and didnt go to my problem areas where I wanted to be exfoliates more. And then I gave a 10$ tip and the receptionist charged me $16 . Dont recommend to anyone anymore.

I have been going here for many years. I am very satisfied with booking, the front desk staff, the cleanliness and the anteroom with relaxing music and seating. Sergey has been my therapist for the past year or so and he is fantastic. I think he is the best Ive found. Good pressure and overall feel very relaxed after the session. The only downside of my massage is when it ends and I have to wait for my next session!

I had a 90 minute relaxation massage with Lydia and let me tell you.... it was hands down the best massage Ive ever had! She asked me any areas of concern and worked out all the stress in me! She made sure I felt super comfortable asking for anything I needed whether that be more/less heat, pressure checks, music volume etc. When it was over, I couldnt get off the table for a minute because I was in a trance or what Lyida called it relaxation drunk. Best full body massage ever.

Wow! This was my first time at the knot stop but definitely not my last. The ambiance and the staff were all very welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. Ashleigh was my esthetician for my facial. She was phenomenal. She created an environment where I felt comfortable taking about my skin care needs and we set up a plan for current and future skin care needs. This was my first time getting dermablaned and I was nervous about the whole process but Ashleigh talked me through everything and made me feel relaxed through the whole thing. She also did a gentle peel on my skin and I can’t believe how my skin was glowing afterwards. Ashleigh is amazing and I highly recommend requesting a facial with her! She gives an amazing facial massage and all of the products she recommended for me are doing wonders for my skin! Ashleigh is a 10/10! Thank you so much knot stop. You are all awesome!

Got a deep tissue massage from Zander earlier today and it wasn’t bad but certainly could have been deeper/harder and was a little bit disappointed that my 60 minute massage was cut short because I arrived a couple minutes late and spent a few minutes filling out paperwork and preparing to start the massage. Assumed the 60 minute massage started when the massage started, not necessarily when the apartment started. But Zander was certainly friendly as well as the guys at the front desk who also had no issue charging my phone for me while I was in the room. Thank you.

Iv been a member for the past year and have liked all my therapists. Iv been looking for my best fit/therapist, I have found that with Titus. He is a great therapist, relaxing yet effective! He is a genuine soul and I look forward to seeing him every month. Thank you Titus!

I have gotten several 60-minute muscle relief massages here from Sergei and he is nothing short of excellent.He is very professional, experienced, and is one of the leads at this location. I went in for my first massage after a recommendation from a friend and am now on a monthly plan. I have recommended Sergei to multiple other friends and family members, who all have shared the same opinion.You wont regret it!

Henry is extremely experienced and knowledgable about the body and is also an absolute pleasure to be around as well. I really enjoyed Henry was very attentive and attuned to my needs and adjusted various parts to accommodate my problem areas and pain points. He knew exactly what my body needed, and I feel amazing after a 90 minute massage. I can’t wait to go back to Henry.The experience was so therapeutic and the ambiance was AMAZING. I moved back to San Diego during the pandemic to be closer to family. I settled in Bankers Hill because I wanted to be able to enjoy Balboa Park and have easy and walkable access to most services. I began exploring and one day walked by a charming building with a hidden gem of a business on 4thAve. Though new to me, The Knotstop, a full-service massage and skin care studio has been open for 16 years under the careful guidance of its owner, Adam Shevel. They have a loyal and committed community that works through the door every day to de-stress under the care of a team of expert licensed massage and skin care practitioners. I can honestly say that I have not been to one that was anything less than excellent! They also have amazing products and a zen and peaceful atmosphere.Community does not stop within the walls of The Knotstop. Recently, Adam was kind enough to donate special gifts to the Epilepsy Foundation and the Rotary Foundation understanding that he plays an important role within the fabric of San Diego. And you know what? That is the kind of business that I want to do business with! Check it out, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

The space looks great and the lounge was nice, but my facial was mediocre. After the facial was complete, there was white cast substance on my face and in my hair. I had to wash my face before I left to get that all off. The facial didn’t leave me feeling the glow. I also felt many parts of the face was not generously massaged into.I didn’t say anything because the person that did my facial was very nice, but the facial Itself was not worth the $85-$100.

Husband and I went here for a couples birthday massage for him. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Space was welcoming. Overall was a very pleasant experience. Appreciated the pride flag in the window.

Friends, if youre looking at these reviews.... Just go! I couldnt ask for a better experience. Tonight I had a 90 minute relaxation massage with Ian, and it was honestly the best massage Ive had in SD. I dont like Asain style massages and I dont enjoy having elbows jabbed into my back with unbearable pressure. I communicated that before we began and I was in bliss the entire time. The amenities and spaces were very clean, well lit and the front desk staff were so kind and.... Well, welcoming. Hopefully this gem sticks around!

Sergey is a gem at The Knot Stop. I’ve been booking massage therapy with Sergey for a couple years now, and in my opinion, his rate is a bargain. I’ve only ever received this level treatment at high-end resorts, and paid twice as much for it. His experience is apparent, but I think that kind of sensibility comes naturally. Also he genuinely takes pride in his work, and is very focused and professional, a true master therapist.

I was looking for a legit massage place, took a chance, and this was it. The office staff is friendly and attentive. The place is put together very tastefully, and the massage was top notch. I recommend The Knotstop to anyone looking for a nice professional massage.

This place is really nice, I have seen several good therapists there through the years…. But have to say Oscar is the best! He is probably one of the best I’ve ever seen in my life and super nice as well.

My 90 min Weekend Warrior/Sports massage was disappointing. The masseuse had a very light touch and didnt address the issues and/or areas I relayed. I gave up after the third hint/request. It was more like a basic rub down than an actual sports massage. A real let down. I usually do the 60 min so figured upgrading to the 90 min would just be more relaxing and effective. Not so. I was stressed and frustrated during and when I left. On the plus side, the new location is more conveneint for me and was very nice inside. Staff was also very nice, as usual. Bummer since I will likely be cancelling my membership after this experience.

This has to be one of the best places I have been in a long time!! I have had chronic back, hip and shoulder problems from playing a pro sport for many years making it almost impossible to walk sometimes. Went here for a stretch and have to tell you it was AMAZING!!! Went back a few times after and felt so much better i can’t tell you!! Definitely worth a try and I promise You will not be disappointed!! Signed up for a membership and is affordable and well worth it. They even have a spa for a massage afterwards!!! Best of both worlds.

I have been going to the Knot Stop regularly for nearly two decades. I am discriminating about the service I receive, and the staff does not disappoint. I indulge in bi-monthly massages, and they attract outstanding talent. My current therapist is Sergey, who provides consistent massages and is attentive to his client’s needs. With the COVID-19 pandemic, they have been offering constant communication and adapting to meet customer needs. Their efforts in keeping us safe and informed are appreciated.

I have been a member for over ten years and the quality of therapists and customer service has deteriorated for me. I drive from La Jolla and in prior years, it was a great place. When you finally get a good therapist they seem to leave . I planned a birthday massage for my friend and I and an hour before our massage, I received a call that one of the therapist called in sick.I would have expected they could get another therapist and if not, a courtesy massage at a later date. I believe a client must cancel within eight hours or we are charged. This fiasco not only ruined a birthday celebration but reinforced that I will be finding another studio.

My experience at the Knotstop was UNBELIEVABLE! Great service, amazing therapists, and comforting environment and energy! Hands down THE best massages I have ever received, not to mention their exquisite boutique and jewelry variety! They carry the best candles in town! Cant wait to come back :)

I LOVE this place. Been getting monthly massages for years, and the place is run great. Im a member of the monthly club where they bill my card automatically, and I get one massage a month. If youre into deep tissue, ask for Crossly. Hes got the strongest massage hands that I have ever felt.

The Knotstop is back!As a long time customer of The Knotstop I was worried about their ability to survive during current events. Their ingenuity rose to the occasion with a new outdoor space for services- and their care shined through with new safety measures that put my mind at ease.I came in for a stretch and massage service and left feeling so much better. It had been months since my last massage, WFH for the last 6 months had taken its tolls.I commend TKS for taking time to problem solve to reopen safely and would recommend them to anyone local or visiting!

I was super hopefully going into my 90 minutes muscle relief massage. I’m a nurse so I frequently get massages to try to work out the problems areas in my back. My massage was underwhelming, with only one type of long extremely slow stroke (like being foam rolled but by a human). I didn’t feel like the therapist focused on my problem areas that I clearly pointed out. Overall I spent over 100$, didn’t feel relaxed, and it didn’t help my back.

I had a 90-minute muscle relief therapy massage. Henry has a smooth and strong technique that incorporates stretching for excellent results in relaxing and healing tired muscles. I keep rebooking with him to continue the benefits. I highly recommend you do the same.

This place is absolutely amazing! Ive been going here for years! I have a terrible back condition and Henry is AMAZING working with injuries. The decor is quite relaxing and dont even get me started on the tea in the waiting room. The coconut in particular is strangely incredible and to die for.Ive tried other places that are closer to me, but its just not worth it. I love you Knotstop.

I go here regularly. Their packages are great and its always very very easy to get an appointment. Ive had one bad massage once but never saw the guy again so I dint think he even works there anymore. I would definitely recommend this place as a regular massage spot.

Ashleigh was great! Her facial was relaxing, invigorating and much needed. Im seeing her monthly for healthier skin. The staff could not be nicer. And, a wonderfully relaxing space.

What can I say about this great spa. I booked a my husband a massage to help his back and not only did he have a great deep tissue massage with KW they offered to try an assisted stretch. He got a person named Sparks that got his back to have little to know pain by the time he left and now is a member for both. TRY THIS PLACE you will love it as much as we do.

I dont know if I have EVER had a BETTER massage than the one I just received from Serge at the Knotstop. He is amazing and I felt so very relaxed and floated out of there on cloud nine! I will be going to him every month!! :)

Good to great massages. They are expensive but usually the job done, as far as getting knots out. The reason they are getting 4 is their staff. The fifth star I’m taking out because of their BS membership plan! Sounds like a great plan, sign up and get discounts and notifications for upcoming appointments. They don’t ever notify you, as they promise, and gladly take a no show fine $35 if you forgot about an appointment. They also require a 24hr cancellation, so if life happens (as we all life happens) you are SOL and have to pay a $35 cancellation or show up. Therefore, They have lost a membership for the price of $35 and the additional $$$ which would’ve been spent. This is a ridiculous policy and broken system. As I said, the professionals are good but not enough to deal with a broken system and ridiculous policy.

Ive been coming infrequently to the Knotstop for their one hour relaxation massage for several years, and most times I leave more relaxed and happier. On my most recent visit (3/26/19) I decided to try a newer masseuse named Orlenthia. In retrospect, it was my own fault for not being more assertive with the fact that I wanted a very simple and slow massage. Its an ongoing problem that I have; not being able to stand up for what I paid for. Anyway, she was very professional and upfront with her eclectic technique. Combining various western and Chinese therapy moves. What I didnt know was that since she wanted to use so many massage styles, she would go through her routine very quickly and forcefully so as to fit inside the allotted one hour. It was the kind of massage that wouldnt be much improved by simply asking for less pressure. I left feeling both energized/better for it, and more or less therapeutically beat up. She was forcing relaxation and healing in such a way that it simultaneously removed old aches and added new ones. I came home and felt the need to take an after care warm bath to ease the ache from something thats supposed to be healing. To be fair, she was very professionally open to requests for different massage techniques, and gave me every opportunity to ask for her to just give me something slow and simple. Which would be best for me since my body doesnt need that much convincing to relax, especially under the right gentle touch.If youre looking for someone whos very fast and rigorous, Orlenthia is just the masseuse for you. She is dedicated to her practice, and open to learning new styles of massage. Shes very knowledgeable in her prowess, and if you want anything other than having the bad vibes forced out of your body, please make sure to speak up.

I had a session with Gabe H. Gabe gives 5 star service! He is not only kind and caring but listens to my needs and is professional and knows how to properly address my problem areas. He is my number one therapist at Knotstop. I hope he gets recognition and appreciated for all his hard work.

I like that I can call and get a massage that same day. My work schedule makes it difficult for me to plan appointments ahead of time. Ive used the knot stop for past 2 years and enjoyed every time I go. If I happen to get someone that not 100% amazing which is rare I just ask to not be assigned that person next time. But again every massage has been worth my money every time! Pro horse trainer with a lot of riding injuries. Deep tissue massages make it possible for me to continue my job! Great place, very friendly and helpful. ask for Shelly, best deep tissue massage in San Diego, maybe the best anywhere. She is mentally in tune with your body & mind, and strong enough to really give the muscles a real workout. I feel so good after her massage, I dont want to leave. She is magnificent.

For years, I was one of those people who got a massage maybe once a year. And every time I did, I would think I should really do this more often. So when I was in The Knot Stop one of those times after a blissful massage, I signed up for the monthly massage package on a whim. I am so glad I did!

In February I cancelled my monthly membership. Got charged again in August. Had I not been checking my statements, they would have totally ripped me off. Even though I hadnt been charged in months, I was told I would need to submit in writing that I want to cancel. This was not told to me in February. This place is definitely feeling the squeeze from Coronavirus to be charging people blindly

The masseur was very skillled. He was very strong and used good pressure and worked areas evenly. The 3 stars is not for his skills, he was very good.The lounge of the place was very promising, a good mixture of west elm and burning man. When guided to the massage room though it was very underwhelming. No fun scents, not much decor, a bit cramped even. Under the sheets was fine but the room was a tad cold.When the massage started i couldnt help but giggle, Im sure I was his first client of the day, and perhaps he didnt have a hearty breakfast, but for the first 20 min his stomach sang me the song of its people as he got started. When that quieted I started to take notice of the music. Every song alternated between either instruments from around the world; romantic sounds of the pan flute and didgeridoo, or the soundtracks of 80s Lifetime movies. If I wasnt serenaded by indiginous throat singing I was suddenly inspired to overcome my battle with cancer, find my lost daughter and leave my cheating husband, none of which I actually have. Suddenly the music stopped and the soothing sounds of Starbucks took over. From the lull of the coffee grinder, to someone dumping out water and cleaning something, and then the fun conversations of several patrons sharing our wall.If you are like me and appreciate atmosphere as part of your massage experience, perhaps a less busy location. Or at least not the room at the end that perhaps used to be a closet with interesting music.

This place is amazing. I make sure to visit every time in San Diego. Great massage therapists and stretch clinic, and the Yoga Deck is awesome!

One stop shop Knot Stop is my favorite go-to place for gifts whether its a present from their shop or a massage/facial! They have membership perks if you join. I also love their organic facial brand (Eminence) and their facialists are all great.

Bad experience. I went here 4 times and had unfortunate experiences during 2 of those times, that ruined the point of paying for a relaxing massage. The massages are average, prices aren’t great, and the front desk service there is rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Sergey Is the reason I keep coming back to the knotstop. I have had a lot of other message therapist here before they were all good but Sergey is where it’s at! A fantastic combination of deep message with some relaxing stuff and light stretching.

Need to stand at the head of the table and work down the spine not up. Back work was awful. Also do not touch the client with your body. Neck and legs were done well. Not sure if therapist is avoiding this basic stance due to covid. I left a decent tip but would not ask for this therapist again. I am a CMT.

Just a wonderful experience. The staff has always been courteous and Ive always been seen promptly and on time. I cant say enough about Todd S. Hes very intuitive, knowledgeable, and just... amazing. I go as often as I can, thankfully theyre pricing is very reasonable.

Super clean and efficient without feeling sterile or rushed. The masseuses are all well trained in their specialities, they almost always have an available appointment, and the variety of services is great.

Massages are great but the owner rips off the workers. Couldnt believe they only get 21-22$ per massage but have to pay taxes on the entire price you paid the front desk. Its really sad.
