Create atmosphere and staff. Super chill low-key night club that felt higher in class than all the rest. The Manager was awesome too and took care of us.

Oxford is the only club/bar that I will go to downtown. It has a mixed crowd of young & older folks and feels…. Classy. The bartenders and door hosts have always been very kind and welcoming to myself and friends. 10/10

We hosted a party for our clients. The place is really good for a younger audience but it is not a fancy lounge.

Such a great spot! The VIP sections you can reserve are huge! It’s a real classy place! We went to their restaurant Lionfish for dinner which was amazing then went to oxford right next door after! Then on Sunday we went to their pool party upstairs called pool house. They literally have everything! Cant recommend Oxford enough! Can’t wait to go back to San Diego

Good customer service, nice tenders, good crowd.Bartender Stevie (F) makes the best drinks!! For real, I’m really picky. I’ve never had anyone make me drinks exactly as ordered. I told her I don’t drink much and to please make me something sweet and palatable, she made a drink that got me lit but without hurting my taste buds (I’m a wimp lol) it was so yummy but also strong!

A pretty nice club in the Gaslamp District. Went for a company event after party. Not a huge place but pretty comfortable sections. Didnt seem to be much of a dress code. Bottles came pretty fast. Security was chill. Im normally not a club guy but I would feel comfortable recommending it to friends.

This is an awesome event space. Great for corporate events. Pendry is a first class hotel that knows how to cater to your special events.

Atmosphere and music were on point. Staff were welcoming and polite. I would recommend stopping by for a drink.

We went for a Bachelorette party. Atmosphere was great. Music and servide was amazing. I wish there was more security on the actual floor. We gad a group of girls in our own table and creepy guys would not leave us alone. We would even get harassed going to the bathroom. For women seriously be careful.

The first time I came here I was able to use the broom to clean the club. I had a really great time dancing and cleaning. During my most recent visit, I was forbidden to utilize the broom and my friends and I promptly left. Do with that information what you will!!!

Went for for my best friends bach party and was very disappointed with the treatment we received from management. They would not let a girl in our group in because she had sandals on not to mention very expensive and classy sandals. Super inconsistent with their rules and terrible with customer service as we had a table and spent over $2,000. Will NEVER go back here. Do not waste your time.

Super fun! First time there and I was confused because you are allowed to dance on the tables and chairs. Everything looks vip and you dont need to have it reserved to be vip. Pretty cool eh !Only thing we were bummed out was it was our friends birthday and the dj couldnt shout her out because we needed to speak to the manager 2 weeks in advance. THATS THE FIRST Ive heard but other than that my debit card got stolen after the bartender took it ( she claimed she never received it ) soI am totally bummed and would highly recommend CASH ONLY

Went for Waka Flaka and it was one of the most fun times I’ve had while in San Diego! He played all of his hits and interacted with the crowd and the overall energy was unlike any club concert I’ve experienced before! Can’t wait to see him again!!

I went to this venue for the first time to attend my friends birthday party. It was a great club, with lots of energy. I’m not a big club guy myself but this place pretty much had it all. Loud music, lights, people celebrating bc they paid way too much for a bottle of booze. There is a cover fee and lines to get in if you don’t plan ahead of time. Not the biggest dance area and a lot of clunky furniture around that almost no one is sitting in…at least at night. If you are into clubs this venue is going to be right up your alley.

Went once and wasn’t a fan. 5 minutes after coming in with my friends, a worker started persistently trying to round us up to entertain some guys who bought a table. No thanks. There didn’t seem to be much of an area to dance, just tons of tables. Also, the DJ that night was consistently switching between songs LITERALLY every 15 seconds so it was impossible to get a single song…I left 2 stars because my drink wasn’t bad and the aesthetic was alrightUPDATE: I tried coming here again after this review. The same thing happened with another worker trying to funnel my friends and I to private tables. It makes the experience uncomfortable.

The club itself is excellent, lots of space, seating, two bars, great decor; only complaint is no real dance floor per SE, but plenty of places to dance. The staff were excellent, none of that tough-guy bouncer attitude. On a Thursday the place was lit! Probably my favorite club in S.D.

No place to sit unless you get bottle service. Music is so loud it’s impossible to socialize in this “social” club. Dj only plays songs for no more than 10seconds so you can’t get into the songs and really dance. No real dance floor. $20 cover on a Thursday night. Pretentious and superficial people taking selfies abound. 2 stars only because the location, bar and nice furniture.

My date and I had the most amazing time here! A hidden gem downtown with a great crowd that loves having fun. Bartenders was very attentive and staff helped out a lot. Most definitely will visit more often.

The staff that work in this club are very stand up people. The one person that stood out to me the most is the bathroom attendant. My phone died and she offerd to watch my phone while it charged. So I can enjoy my self in the club.

Nice place but too many vip tables without living a comfortable social zone/dance floor. The very small and dark area next to back bar. Is more like a walkway

Bouncers are money driven. Even slipped them some money to help us out and they kept it, charged us a cover. On top of that, I bought a table and the waitress told me the tip wasn’t included when it was. The whole evening cost me close to $3500 and the management could care less. Stay away from this pretentious place. Better to spend your money elsewhere.

Good vibes and music but spent over $740 for a bottle of Titos vodka including the service charge. Knowing I can pick this up for $20 at my local liquor store made me wonder a bit how far markups can go before being excess.

I paid for a ticket to see an artist at this club and the bouncers didn’t let anyone in line, with a ticket, into the venue. The only way you could get into the venue was if you paid the bouncer additional money.

It is over rated! People can walk into this place with the most ugliest and below average dressed men including wearing caps, hats, gym shoes, Hanes white shirts, & the many short sleeves that is ugly and not quite right for a place that service expensive bottles. You can literally dress anything n walk in minus shorts. The place is way over rated. Take another look of how the staff is dressed vs. Customers.Supposed to be dressed code. Whats your definition of dress code?

The bouncers at the door were very rude and ruined our night. There was an issue with the guest list and instead of double checking and trying to find our names, they got confrontational and rude. There was a short Asian guy who said he works for them and wanted to help us, I think he was a promoter, but ended up making the matter worse. These people should understand that their customers are there to have a good time, and not deal with their employees issues, inner drama, and insecurities. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If youre out to have a good time, go for any other place, even if these guys get you in, most everyone is rude inside, and will most likely ruin your good mood. There are many other places worth spending your time and money in San Diego.

Was kind of dead the night that I went, but it seems like a cool spot

Like everyone mentioned in the reviews; the bouncers are the VIP of this place. My friends and I were on the guest list. Didnt even enter for another stupid reason. Bouncers wont listen, hostile and very unwelcoming. At least smile itll attract more people. Or maybe theyre keeping the vibes closer to underground clubs.

WORST EXPERIENCE at a club of all time! We negotiated a price for a table then waited over an hour for a cocktail waitress only to get booted from our table without receiving service. When we discussed this with a manager we were asked to leave even though we had 5 rooms at The Pendry. This place is a joke and so are the people that work there. Please dont waste your time.

Went on a Saturday night during Comic Con wknd. Was crazy as expected. Signed up on the guest list prior, but not sure if it helped expedite the process. Befriended a bouncer named Gustavo. He let in myself and two girlfriends. No cover which is good.Pro: Pretty club. Bars on either side of the club. Music was decent. Something new to add to the Gaslamp area.Con: Was hoping for a little more heavier hip hop. Kept hearing Will Smith. Pass. BIG CON: No real dance floor. The entire area was made of VIP booths and unless you had a $$$ booth, you were dancing on the edges of the space. Very unfortunate.

Everyone was really nice. it’s a whole new party experience where the dance floor is everywhere, between the couches and tables and not in a single place. But you have to spent a LOT of money.

Make sure you have bottle service or know the bouncers or youre a girl, otherwise guest list line is pointless. Theyll tell you theyre at capacity or the door is closed, but continue to let vip guests in. I get keeping a line outside to make it look like the club is popular and to make people sober up and spend once theyre inside, but dont tell me to line up and patiently wait if youre never going to let me in once Im finally at the front. I could of spent my money and most importantly...my time...somewhere else. I know they dont care about losing me as a customer, but definitely never coming back...being polite doesnt work either. This is why San Diego clubs suck...they try to be cool like Vegas clubs, but at least you can get into a Vegas club.

I was aggressively verbally assaulted by a bouncer at Oxford Social Club on the night of Saturday, May 5th.While a male friend was in line paying the cover charge to enter the club, my two female friends and I were standing in the downstairs lobby area. Not knowing I was being watched, I took one step forward when a stalky presumably Middle Eastern bouncer in his late 30’s/early 40’s with little hair on his head and a goatee screamed “stop moving” and stand back repeatedly in a very hostile and violent manner (similar to how a police officer would approach a criminal). As he was aggressively yelling, he looked as though at any point he was ready to assault us. Unable to comprehend what he was reacting to, I froze in complete shock. I was stunned, terrified and shaken by his actions. It is hard to articulate the severity of the issue but please understand it was the most aggressive uncalled for behavior Ive ever experienced in my LIFE.My girlfriend stepped in and told him his behavior was completely unacceptable, we were paying customers patiently waiting to get inside. The bouncer continued to yell at us with the same hostility while my friend tried to reason with him. His tone and mannerisms were so aggressive that another employee interfered, telling him to calm down. The other employee said he was going to take care of it and handle the situation, however, we do not feel he was taking the severity of the bouncers incomprehensible actions very seriously.We left shortly after, still stunned by how both of these employees treated us. Ive travelled throughout this country and around the world, have experienced nightlife and club scenes in many places and have NEVER been so mistreated by ANYONE. As an employer, you need to ensure your employees are trained professionals, and not on edge, macho egotistical men that berate and assault your female clients for no justified reason. This isnt his personal life, he cannot verbally abuse women as he chooses. His behavior was so violent and threatening that in future, if this occurs again, I will have no problem reporting this incident to the police.

The social is for social media, and theres a reason they specify. 85% of the crowd is people who want to be there so they can get good shots for insta of them being in a vip club section.Which, if thats your thing, more power to you, youre gonna *love* this place, its an extremely well-executed concept.If, however, youre interested in music/dancing, look elsewhere. Parq or onyx if youre looking for a snazzier vibe, spin if youre more the plur type.

This place be poppin even during a weekday. Me and my friends had an awesome time dancing. DJ knows what songs to play to keep it hype. -1 star cause their drinks are grossly overpriced. ~$30 for a drink??

It was comicon weekend and we were in line and security didnt let us in because our friend was dressed up as john from game of thrones. It was 4 of us. He said it was an upscale attire. There were people there that were dressed casual. Not upscale. Not worth going to this place. We can take our business elsewhere.

Probably the one of the best club/lounge spots in San Diego. Drinks a pretty expensive but the music is good. LA club scene vibes, this should be your 2nd or 3rd stop of the night. Dress code is really relaxed too

Venue was nice, service was great, but the djs were honestly horrible. The “warm up” DJ switched songs every 15 seconds, and what I assume to be the main DJ who played after midnight had the sorriest excuses for transitions I’ve ever had the displeasure of hearing. Literally stopped his songs in the middle of a verse to switch to something completely nonsensical. I would literally rather listen to a Spotify playlist. That would have made more sense.

I was mistreated and disrespected my security for being underdressed to the Don toliver concert with my disabled brother and was rejected entry and wasted 220$ on tickets no refund. Worst experience of my entire life ruined the whole week of plans

My Caucasian friend was let in immediately after showing her ID. I was held to the side and my guest list needed to be confirmed. After pointing out to the bouncer, that he let my friend in with no hesitation, he accused her of sneaking in. Weak drinks and pretentious crowd.

SO much better than the BS at Omnia.This place is so much more fun, inclusive and has banging beats.They welcome you in and wish you a good time vs. Other places that want to make you feel lucky they let you in to SPEND MONEY at their establishments.Hence the name Oxford Social ClubCome out for a good time. Way classier than any other nightclub in the Gaslamp because of the association with the Pendry Hotel.I dress up fashion forward here because OSC is Classy, so Im going to dress Classy in my Tie and Suspenders.Dress up a little for a nicer more elegant hip hop experience of drinking and dancing.

Came about a month ago in September, here were my thoughts:PROs:*Walked right in w/ no issue because we had a table*Music was great, played catchy hip hop songs*Cool decor, didnt encounter (too many) annoying peopleCONs:*No enforcement of clothing--guys were in t-shirts & hats*Birthday girl was told table would be compd, but because we had a few males, that deal went out the window and she was charged for it all.All in all, it was ok, but definitely not my scene anymore for obvious reasons. **REFER TO CONS

We arrived with a group of 8 women and 3 men. All women were let in immediately. The 3 men were denied entrance on the spot. Your horrible bouncers cost you bottle service that went to another club.

The bouncers were classless and rude. Wish I couldve left a review about the amazing atmosphere or the wait staff but sadly the doormen were inattentive and prejudice.

Extremely over priced. I got charged $31 for a rum and coke that was almost entirely ice. The place is going out of business and is clearly trying to up charge just to stay afloat. It’ll be a relief when it is no longer in business.

More fun than I had anticipated, but it needs a central dance floor. They were playing great music when I went and it looked like everyone wanted to be dancing but people were reserved since there was no dance floor.

This place was POPPIN! Went here with a ton of my boys and they had no problem accommodating us.
