The Little Gay Pub is an absolute gem! As soon as you walk in, you’re embraced by a warm, neighborhood feel where everyone knows your name. The sense of community here is unparalleled, making every visit feel like a gathering of old friends. And lets talk about the Espresso Martinis—hands down, the best in town! Rich, perfectly balanced, and with just the right kick, they are a must-try.Whether youre there for a casual drink or a night out with friends, The Little Gay Pub never disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch cocktails!

Had a great time with some friends! The bartenders were so nice, and it just felt so welcoming there! We ordered an aperol spritz, unicorn tears and a high noon for drinks. The empanadas were tasty, and they even brought out some free goldfish and cheeze it’s! Will definitely be back soon!

If pretentiousness had a noble grandchild it would be this god awful waste of space. From being rudely greeted by the utmost smuggest host I’ve ever witnessed the walls were bursting at the seams with the odour and ear curling gabble of narcissistic Chads imaginable.

The pub is a terrific venue. Friendly welcoming staff. Attractive crowd. The only flaw is the patio is ridden with mosquitos. One fan with two tiny bug zappers is not enough. The greeter lended his off still not enough to ward of the mosquitos. Perhaps the exterior attracts insects might be one issue. Left tonight despite the off with twenty mosquito bites which are painful

Finally got a chance to try out this place. So I would say the place is really cute and has nice seating outside! The variation in drinks is also great as well as the ‘bar’ food. I also loved the painting and frames on the wall. Additional the bathroom was so clean and even though it’s just 2 of them…I would rather have a clean bathroom than a nasty one with everyone possibly g everywhere. Some of the guys were in line complaining all night that they would prefer a long stall etc etc. they didn’t care that other folks came to the pub and would prefer a bit more privacy. Now if you are looking for a bit more diversity, this is not the place for you. It isn’t the bars fault who comes but just know it is the 99.9% white gays of DC type of vibe and just by listening you can tell it isn’t the best of the best. The inside is a bit small so beware of the wait lines and then being crammed inside. All in all I would definitely recommend this bar for the summer time or when it’s warmer to be on the outside seating.

I love the food and the friendliness of the bartenders and customers. My only concern is that the first time I went there I was searched before I was permitted to go in. I have not seen anyone else getting frisked since I’ve been going there. I even sent Nic to a window so that I could watch the greeter.Maybe I just haven’t noticed it.

Great little spot! Drinks were well made, which is something a lot of gay bars lack. Many play spots rely on their community to prop them up but the drinks suck. That isn’t the case here. Yummy, quality drinks. The bartender eating his Panda Express was a good bartender so props to him. The one with the industrial ear piercing. He deserves a raise for his top notch customer service and entertaining demeanor!Overall, a must stop if you’re in the DC area!

I visited the pub for the first time on 7/20. Two bartenders were behind the bar - one ignored me (working left side of bar) and the other, Billy made my visit enjoyable. I was there at 7 PM and the patio was full so I sat at the bar. Billy was pleasant to each person he served and engaged them in conversation while he crafted their drinks. I hope the owners realize hes a gem and theyre lucky to have him. I ordered one of the seasonal drinks but requested that it be made with a different vodka. Since the drinks were premixed (Titos and CrystalLite) he made a special batch just for me with a vodka that I prefer. I appreciate that he went out of his way to accommodate my request. I gave the review 5 stars for service (even though the other bartender ignored me), and 4 stars for Atmosphere. I would appreciate it more if the art was sourced locally from queer artists.

I rarely leave reviews, but this place is getting unfairly dragged in the comments. LGP has definitely been a victim of its own success (at least in terms of online reviews). When you go to *ANY* bar when its super busy on a Friday or Saturday, youre likely to not get the best service and encounter an occasionally overwhelmed bartender. Thats life at a popular bar in a big city. Dont take it personally. Try going to Little Gay Pub on a week night with a couple of friends and youll have a completely different experience. Thats when I usually go and the waiters, bartenders, and bouncers are friendly and chatty. Its one of the best local gay bars around.

Lovely spot. Best outdoor space at a gay bar in town (both the size and comfort level). Food is not worthwhile (skip it completely), but….that’s not what you come for. Bartenders are stellar and the inside is kitted out in a really homey way. Also, the bathrooms are insanely nice (though that’s also a downside as the line gets very long for two stalls that people take pictures of themselves in).

This place definitely caters to a certain type of gay like other reviews have said. In terms of service, Ive had issues each time Ive been. I never get the warm and fuzzy feeling each time I order. On the contrary, I usually get ignored or get looked like I shouldnt be there. Maybe thats the vibe theyre going for?I never cared to write a review until this weekend when I ordered an Aperol spritz. It was horrible! (Not the first time Ive had a bad drink there). I did notice that the bartender was pouring an unusually large amount of sparkling water but didnt think too much. Until I tasted it, it was all water and just a dash of aperol without a taste of sparkling wine. I took it back and he begrudgingly made me another well-made drink.I just want to go to a place, order a drink, and feel welcomed. Is that so hard?

AWFUL patio service. Our group of 5 came-in last night & sat down at a vacant table. The patio server was too busy chit-chatting with friends at a nearby table, so 15 minutes went by with no acknowledgment or service from him (& the table still uncleared of the prior party’s drinks).Only after I went inside & complained to the manager did someone come over to clear the table drinks & take our orders. But when we were ready to order a 2nd round, our server was nowhere to be found. So another 15 minutes later, I went back inside & complained to the manager. I ended-up ordering our next round at the bar, having to carry 5 champagne flutes AND an ice bucket back to our outdoor table myself (with no help from the staff). This level of patio service was UNACCEPTABLE. If you’re going to charge patrons $15/drink, then we expect a certain standard of customer service. LGP needs to retrain their patio staff to focus more on serving customers vs. fraternizing with their friends on the clock.

I just LOVE sitting amongst the girls at Little Gay Pub!When it first opened, i was pretty regular but had to limit once I began opening up my own place. But when I do go, LGP is ALWAYS poppin and it’s very clear why. The drinks: AmAzing. My favorite is the Unicorn, which is like a cosmo but with glitter ;). All of the bartenders are attentive and friendly and I’ve yet to have a bad experience with any of them.I guess the stars are always aligned when I go because I always find a table. In the summer, the patio is sooo nice and of course leaves more space for patrons.I’m very happy they opened and will continue to frequent this cute little gay pub!

Been here many times and felt uncomfortable on the lack of diversity at LGP. I’m usually one of the very few POCs there. It’s worse than other gay bars because you at least have more people of color in attendance (e.g Trade). I can speak for myself in that as a POC, I don’t want to be in a space where I do not feel welcomed by the patrons if I’m questioning if they’re borderline racist/prejudice, which has been my experience at multiple gay spaces and am sure the experiences of other POCs.The many white ppl (and tokens) leaving positive reviews, yes the bar is nice but why don’t you ask yourselves why a lot of bars are unofficially segregated? No matter how y’all say all is welcome it doesn’t feel that way. It’s you, hi, you’re the problem it’s you. Taylor would be proud. It’s a space for corporate, elitist white people (hi, Nancy!) but honestly, what else is new for DC?The interior is nice as well as the bathroom, which apparently is “iconic”. The drinks are pretty good too - nice craft cocktails. I may give this place a chance again if I see better patrons that frequent it and not just conventionally attractive people where that’s all that is brought to the table, or pub in this case but hey, the “iconic” bathroom mirror will do that.

We visit Washington DC once or twice a year because we love it and we got engaged there. We usually try to hit up all of the gay bars when we visit. I heard there was a new one called the little gay pub that also served small bites so we decided to try it. During our one week visit, we tried to go there a few different times, but the line was super long. We finally decided on Monday to go there right when they open at 5 PM because it might be slower. We got there and turns out they don’t have the kitchen open on Mondays, so we were very disappointed and had to make reservations somewhere else. Staff was really nice and drinks are really nice. The bathroom situation was not good. They have two unisex bathrooms with regular toilets andthe line gets really long on the weekends when we tried to get in one other time and they need to change one of those bathrooms to just urinals. Also, the bartenders didn’t know the Wi-Fi password and I didn’t have any cell signal strength inside the bar. Seems like they have some growing pains. They need to figure some things out. Not sure if we will go again. Much easier at the other gay bars…

Blonde dyed bartender shorted me a dollar but he clearly needed it. If a beer is 8, i know how to count change from a 20…CHECK YOUR MONEY FOLKS. Very strange for a lgbtq space to be so toxic. Half the staff feel like wannabe high school mean girls. Hesitating to make you a drink while making feel bad for asking. But I guess that’s what happens when you cater to a certain (rich white) demographic.

I’ll never go to TLGP again. Owner was extremely smug… not a way to win over customers when you’re launching a new location. The inside is great… looks fantastic. But, the rude and dismissive treatment of people is a deal-killer. There are several wonderful places in Shaw/Logan Circle that offer great drinks and treat people well. No need to return to this place.

Had a great time the first time I went, as well as tonight. Sadly, after I left to wait for my ride I started feeling ill and asked the bouncer and bartenders for a cup of water. They dramatically refused and slammed the door on my face. Wouldn’t recommend for the LGBTQ+ community if looking for a safe space. Bouncer had some degree of compassion, those working behind the bar exhibited none. This bar is antithetical to the spirit of ‘YMCA’

New bar that’s busy but not clubby, LGP is a welcome addition and exactly what DC needed. It’s clear the owners put a lot of thought into this place, as the vibe is excellent. The food is very casual, and the drinks are solid, if not a little pricey. Great patio for nice days. Love this place!

Unfortunately LGP does not provide for what I would consider a safe and inviting space for the LBGTQIA+ community. Upon leaving the bar a few months ago, a friend of ours was assaulted by an individual that lives above the bar. We had to call the cops and file a report. The few times we visited LGP before that, we were told by multiple staff members, upon entering and exiting the bar, including one of the owners, that all guests were expected to be quiet and keep volume at a minimum even while on public property (aka the sidewalk). The evening in question, the bar shut early, and while we were on the sidewalk, multiple staff members, including the same owner, told us that we needed to keep our voices down...even though we werent on their property. We later learned that the bar knows the individual and theyve had run-ins with him in the past. It makes sense now why they keep telling their patrons to keep it down so as to not disturb the neighbors. Unfortunately, we dont feel safe returning. Instead of helping to resolve what seems to be a regular problem, the bar simply tells its patrons to be quiet for its own safety. That behavior does not create for a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The atmosphere is great, the drinks are great, the food snacks are good. But when the crowd is watching what was being broadcast on the various TV screens, then what was being run is cut, the crowd is gonna say “WTF”!?I asked who the hell is cutting off programming when the patrons are enjoying a classic video, I hear “The owner does whatever he wants”.WOW…bad owner that doesn’t understand how to let patrons enjoy final moments of the video being shown vs whiplash when you go from Legally Blonde final minutes to Little Mermaid all of a sudden

Three times I’ve arrived before the very rigid opening time of 5:00, three times I’ve been told to stand on the sidewalk and wait. Three times I’ve left and gone to Number 9, instead of hanging out like a homeless person for them to release the retractable crowd barrier. Tonight, I gave them the benefit of the doubt as there was no where else to go.. The bartender, Billy, finally , made my fourth try an experience well with it. While I will be skeptical to scamper over, if I am aware that Billy is working, the. I certainly will give it another chance.
