If you’re looking for a fufu spa with nice aesthetics, don’t waste your time. However, if like me, you’re look to get an AMAZING massage, you’ve come to the right place! These ladies have great technique and were very sweet. My girlfriend and I did a couples massage, while they left out the aroma therapy/music, there’s no debating that these ladies are SKILLED. I can’t tell you the last time I had a massage so good, definitely something you should experience for yourselves!
As a massage therapist this was exactly what I was looking for.I had May, her technique varied in the best way. The use of elbows and hands were perfect. I also loved her pressure and movement will 100% be seeing May again soon.
I was really concerned about this place because I read so many negative reviews, but it was a really wonderful experience. The massage was well-priced, the staff were professional, and I was able to get in same day. Overall a great experience! :)
Very poor customer service. The lady in front has a nasty attitude. I had purchased a Groupon for a 50 minute massage. I wasn’t able to book the massage directly through Groupon so I called in advance to book an appointment. I showed up today for the massage, and was having a hard time finding the voucher code although you could see I purchased it under my Groupons. She refused to accept that, told me to leave, and dismissed me. She started calling people on the phone and just wasn’t trying to be helpful or understanding. It also didn’t help that there was a language barrier. I tried to contact Groupon, but there was no phone number yet somehow I was able to finally find the code to go in and show them. By that point, I had lost all interest in doing my massage with them. The inside is very dingy and smells strongly of urine. I just wanted my money back. The manager was very gracious, so I’ll give him that. He did offer me a refund and offered to do my massage for free, but I was already so upset at how the lady at front had conducted herself that I passed on the offer. I advised him he needs to consider who he is hiring because that lady has no business working in customer service. She was still trying to argue even after I had proved her wrong. Smh.
Took my sister for her first ever massage. We both left extremely sore. Both lady’s were super heavy handed and not once asked about our comfort. The rooms were cold, and uncomfortable. Super unprofessional they were burping, coughing, and sneezing the entire time. The worst part was the lady’s were rushing the entire thing and were so pressed to asked for tip as we were leaving.
I went in very stressed, and came out so serene. The place is a little basic, but I have my eyes closed during a massage so it didnt matter. The hot stones were amazing too.
I made an online 10am appointment at this place because of some muscle pain in my back. When I arrived, the front door was open. But no one was there. After waiting for about 10 mins and calling if someone was there a few times, I walked to the back to see if anyone was around. All the way in the back some woman was eating. So I said “I’m here for my 10am appointment”. Apparently the reservation hadn’t come trough. Anyway, not much later the woman started my massage. When the phone rang she walked out of the room to pick up, and 10-15 mins later a second time. Then she also started to discuss something in Chinese with some other employee, while she was massaging me. I’m fromEurope and I think that tips have to be earned, not just given for nothing. So because I wasn’t happy with the whole situation and my muscle pain still wasn’t gone either, I didn’t tip. When they started to insist I tipped her $5,- They still were not satisfied, but I left. Funny though that I read in the owner’s reactions here they have “don’t ask for tip” policy.
Horrible customer service. They quote one price/special over the phone then when you get they point at the price board. Call the person over the phone and the lady argued with the person on the phone. Stay away, they have has horrible service for years.
I keep going to this place, mainly because I am very bad organizing my life, and when I need a massage, I just need it. Great spas in DC are always booked days ahead, but in Prada I know I can just drop by and so far, they have always accommodated me and given me my massage. The massages themselves arent bad, and sometimes they are very good. Now, if you are a planner and you can book days ahead, you have much better options in DC, including some in the same neighborhood. If you want the spa experience (good ambiance, nice aromas, feeling you are treated in that special way), go elsewhere. This is a place to go for a massage when you need it and get out - thats it. And for that, I think it does its job.
None of the staff speak English!!! I paid for my service online. I got there 15 minutes before my appointment and they couldn’t find my reservation information!! I waited 30 minutes and still wasn’t given any help. I left without getting my service done and no refund!!! Do not support this establishment
For our anniversary, my girlfriend and I booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage and Gua Sha at Prada Massage Spa. Although we were disappointed that our reservation wasn’t recorded correctly when we arrived, the deep tissue massage was intense; not for the faint of heart, but we both really enjoyed it (I would recommend the 30-minute instead). Unfortunately, during the massage, the staff started talking loudly, which disrupted our relaxation. Now, the Gua Sha experience was inconsistent. The man working on my girlfriend was gentle, but the woman working on me was rough and extremely painful. It felt random and didn’t focus on problem areas; it was more like harsh scraping. Eventually, she took over from the man on my girlfriend, causing her discomfort as well. It would be nice if they provided recommendations for skin care after the Gua Sha. While I would recommend the deep tissue massage at Prada Massage Spa, we booked this place specifically for Gua Sha because my girlfriend watches several videos of Gua Sha and had always wanted to try it. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem to be professionals at it, so if you’re interested in Gua Sha, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
There is something really off about this place. And to my poor judgment I keep going back to this terrible place. Mainly because when I need a massage it’s usually out of the blue and the good spas are usually booked up. The first time I ever went it was a decent experience but that was a while a lot. The last two times I went some really strange things were going on. I’m going to start with the fact that they make you pay before , huge red flag. Secondly , when my massage started she kept leaving to attend to customers walking in. It happened 3 or 4 times. The entire time the staff talks to eAchother extremely loudly. And not the mention other customers when they come in are super loud , and none of the staff asks them to keep it down. Last time I went which was Friday the 10th, for a 90 min massage because I was in pain. The fact that she kept leaving bothered me so much but I dealt with it , I even accepted how loud it was in there. Now all of these are reasons I wil never go back. But one of the main reasons and I truly feel disgusted , was the man who came in the get a massage who was in the room next to me was EXTREMLY loud and kept conversing the the workers , and they never asked him to be quit. And at one point he was even MOANING, and breathing so so loud I got a really weird feeling in my stomach from that. Something is not right about this place . Please avoid this place at all costs,
The massage was good but don’t be aggressive with the tip asking… it’s really aggressive and bullyish. It will ruin your business. Some people are paying what they can afford. We all need gas and pay bills.
Me and my sister were gifted a Groupon for a birthday massage from a friend and this place was amazing! Best massage I’ve had in a While! They took there time and could literally feel which areas needed focus. They truly are experts on the muscle groups and pressure points. Will definitely be back.
Went to this location for foot reflexology massages and multiple times during the service we were interrupted. More than once another costumer entered the store talking extremely loud right out side of where we were getting massages and then proceeded to scream into her speaker phone with zero respect and no one working there asked her to stop. The woman working at the front desk, who is obviously not a trained masseuse, serviced one of us and got up more than 3 times to help people and the massage was under the 60 minutes we paid for. Having to pay and tip in advance would be fine if we got a service that was a reflection of the 20% tip we left.
The photos I am including are me before visiting Prada Massage and then me after my session😂😊. It was a totally relaxing and healing session, relieved both my body and psychic pain! I have been here several times and have always been satisfied, but this past visit was particulary stellar with my therapist Yim/Yen/Yem, didn’t get the spelling of her name, but it was amazing!Don’t be off-put if they don’t run to the door immediately. They are very focused and don’t constantly interrupt sessions for more business, so they may take a minute. Also they request you pay upfront. I like that it alleviates having to fumble with payment in post- massage relaxed state and I tip at least 20 percent in cash on top beforehand because I know it will be worth it!I promise I don’t work for them, I just really appreciate this spa for pain relief and much needed relaxation!
I want to review Pradas new spa on U Street. Prada opened a new spa at the corner of U and 14th. It is so new that customers have a hard time finding it so they are a bit slow right now. However I went there to see Mei, who also took care of me at the old shop on 18th. The new shop is roomier and has a very Good vibration. Mei has a lot of skill in her hands and took care of my stiff back problems. Its not the first time Ive come to her but I will definitely be back to this shop only as it is roomier and brighter. I highly recommend customers to find this shop because the experience there is like no other. The customer base will grow there and they will be very busy soon. Mei is an outstanding masseuse therapist, I highly recommend her and this shop for all. No problems whatsoever even with language. Again this review is for their new shop at 1350 U Street NW.
I made an appointment with this spa on a weekday afternoon and the staff were nice - thats the only positive thing I can say about this spa. My masseuse used her elbows for 95% of the massage and it was extremely hard, vigorous and painful. I politely asked her several times to reduce the amount of pressure because it was hurting me and she continued applying the same amount of pressure. Im 63 245 and enjoy a deep tissue massage, but this wasnt enjoyable at all. I left the spa feeling more tense and sore. The prices are reasonable considering the location, but do yourself a favor and pay an extra $25-30 for a better masseuse - one that will at least listen to their customers requests!
I booked online, and it was closed when I arrived. I was required to pre-pay with the online booking. I called several times and was not able to get anyone on the phone who speaks enough English to understand the situation and refund the payment. I’m out the $95. I would not recommend this business.
Amazing experience. I came with a Groupon and was impressed. Lilly was an amazing massage therapist and had the perfect touch. The spa is clean and tidy, not the fanciest but overall great vibes. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a great, affordable massage.
They were very hard to reach to set an appointment, and when I called to confirm my reservation they werent very helpful. The massage itself was fine, but the masseuse didnt really seem to have a grasp on professional boundaries. Also, staff was weird about the tip. I saw one ask a patron if she left one in a demanding tone, and another tried to badger me into tipping well above what was standard. It was uncomfortable and inappropriate...I dont intend to return, and wouldnt really recommend it.
As part of a weekend getaway for my husband I, I decided to purchase a Groupon deal for this place. I ended up having to reschedule our original appointment, when I called to reschedule I sensed an attitude from the owner (I believe she’s the owner) she sighed when she finally realized I was calling to reschedule. Once I confirmed our new appointment she said “no more changes right? You’re coming this time?” I laughed and yes we plan to be there. I almost cancelled because of her rude and unprofessional comment but I decided to keep the appointment. When we arrived I wasn’t exactly thrilled with place but it was clean; I had to keep in mind we were in the heart of DC.While I’ve had numerous massages in my lifetime, it was my husband’s very first. We opted for a couples massage, so they slid the curtain back used to divide the room. A gentleman by the name of Jack worked on me and a female worked on my husband. What I thought was going to be the worst massage ever ended up being the BEST I’ve ever had. He started out massaging with a towel covering my body, meaning he massaged through the towel (no skin on skin). That was a first for me so i was a little taken aback. After maybe 10 minutes with the towel the real massage began. Jack was absolutely phenomenal!! He worked EVERY muscle in my body, even muscles I didn’t realize I had 😂. I like deep tissue massages and almost had to tell him to lighten up. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his massage as well.I read the other comments and we had no issues with being harassed for tips. We left a tip on our credit card and went on our merry way. WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!
Currently here receiving the worst massage I’ve ever had. My therapist has gotten up now 3 times to answer phones and talk to people. A customer is in the waiting room with her phone on speaker screaming about her payment. I paid $72 with tip for a foot massage and wish I could walk out right now this is such a terrible experience.
I had a fantastic experience here. I bought a Groupon and called to set up a massage for the next day. Upon arriving they took my Groupon code and I was in the room immediately. The ambience was quiet and cool. The masseuse, Yoki, was very attentive and focused on all my difficult areas. She was very knowledgeable and I would say this was one of the best massages Ive ever had. I also had no problem leaving a tip via credit card.
I’m not sure why I was asked to pay and tip both before the service, and after the service. It was a no-frills massage, and I wish the people in the room next-door weren’t speaking as loudly. They had to leave and come back a couple of times throughout the process but the duration did not change, so the massage was not spent for the entire hour.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Is really all I can say. My co-workers and I made a very last minute appointment for foot massages. Well it was technically two appointments but we brought a third person and they happily accommodated us. Thanks to the heavens!! We started promptly and throughout the entire service my therapist Jack was just amazing. A M A Z I N G!!!! Angel hands. Please if you have the opportunity to check this place out try your absolute best to get Jack. He’s such a sweetheart. I highly recommend and willl surely be back!!!! We all will!!!
Where do I even begin?! My wife arrived early only to be told the masseuse was running late. After waiting 40+ min, the woman at the front desk finally took her back and SHE did the massage, not the masseuse. The room was freezing, no music, no ambiance, no candles, etc. HORRIBLE environment for a massage. Also, about 10 minutes in, loud jazz show tunes started playing from some room nearby and there were dogs barking in the house! The masseuse left during the massage 6 times (my wife counted) to go yell at other employees and do who knows what. At one point she left and didnt return for more than 5 min, but never stopped the clock, so it definitely wasnt a 60 min massage. The massage itself was ok (although too painful for her taste), but the service was absolutely HORRIFIC. Then, she abruptly left indicating it was done. My wife left a $5 tip because she felt bad leaving nothing, only to have the lady come outside and find my wife on the sidewalk outside the building demanding for more!! Shes been scarred forever and will never return and recommends no one go here. I can only imagine that the good reviews are fake, because that was the worst experience she has ever had in any customer service fashion, particularly a massage.
I asked 3 times for less pressure and I am very sore the next day. Very unenjoyable. They also begged for a high tip.
Ok so this was probably the best massage Ive ever gotten. Making the appointment was a little tricky due to langague barriers - but my BF and I had a groupon and it was SO WORTH IT. Seriously, the staff were so tuned into our bodies individual needs. My masseuse balanced deep acupressure work with light relaxing touch perfectly. I got warm oil, hot stones, and some intense shoulder work - which was exactly what I needed. I felt 5 inches taller when we left. The space was clean and peaceful. The staff doesnt speak english but they are super friendly. Im definitely going back. If youre having trouble getting through on the phone just try again. Seriously worth it. Ive gotten massage at other spas in DC, and my BF gets them regularly in LA - both of us agreed this was on another level of excellent. Not because the space is fancy- its not- but the massage itself was amazing. Definitely be aware this is an acupressure style spot - its intense, traditional Chinese style massage- NOT Swedish- so be prepared for work all over your body - if youre not down for a full on massage/have stricter boundaries about what areas they work on you should say so ahead of time or find a more conservative spa........but it was perfect for me!
The facilities are excellent. The staff was very kind. Definitely, Ill be back!
Its not a spa in the sense that you are going to be pampered beyond your wildest dreams. Its a small, cramped, street level place filled with happy, tiny people that will crank on your back in a way you wont soon forget. One 45min massage FOR $45 has done more for my neck and back than several $100 sports and deep tissue massages. Customer for life.
This place is a hidden gem. I am DC native who had never noticed it. I was a bit discouraged by the rating on google, but very happy I gave it a chance. Clean, well-equipped room. My massage therapist was GREAT. 60 min hot stone/oil massage- very meticulous down to the hands. Staff is kind.Reasonable prices. Enjoy!
We did a couple massage through Groupon friendly staff! Massages were amazing to the point I fell asleep. Definitely would recommend. I’ll be coming again!!!!!
Lilly was awesome. Worked my tense spots and knew exactly what my body needed Ill be back to see her again
I set up an appointment and when I get there they say I cant be seen because the computer is down. There was a language barrier so it was never made clear to me as to why I couldnt be seen and why no one called me ASAP about it. I also tried calling before my appointment and no one picked up. They said they could call me when the computer was up and running but I dont live close to the spa. I have a Groupon for the place but I plan to get my money back because my time and money was wasted traveling to my appointment.
Really enjoyed the massage! Everyone was so nice and definitely made me want to come back!
Really great deep tissue massage. Good background music. Friendly staff & family-owned. We’re definitely going again.
The staff barely speaks English, but they massage SO well and theyre SO nice. Ive been 6 times already and plan on continuing to go.
Feel good help lots but little expensive not bad and friendly too
Went for a massage here today. Excellent service. The masseuse was amazing. Highly recommend you check it out.
Lili is the greatest of all time I will be a true contributor to her career at Angel Heath spa please drop in the have a wonderful staff comfortable accommodations I recommend Angel Health Spa to ALL.
Very unprofessional. They didnt speak any English, and kept trying to upsell me (he still was trying to sell me after I laid down on the table). AVOID.
It was a great experience, the masseur technique is great
Very good service
The worst massage I had in a long time. And expensive.
This place is a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be visiting again when I’m in DC
Great spot! Terrific leg massages.👍👌
I have been to this center twice through a coupon, and it was really good. The place is not the most elegant in the world, it is not a spa per se, but if you pay less than 40 dollars for an hour of massage, you cant ask for more, as the saying goes you cant ask for pears from the elm. ¨. That is to say, the place is not pretty, they lie on the stretcher on top of paper and not sheets and in the same room two people are given a massage, separating one from the other with a curtain. Both times I went they gave me good service, but yesterdays massage was spectacular. An Asian woman helped me and she did a great job. Normally, I have back contractures but yesterday I went in with a pinch that had been hurting me all week. The masseuse identified it and focused her efforts on treating it. And the truth is that he did it, today I woke up without him and much more relaxed. A marvel. If you want to be relieved of tension, when they ask you if you want the strong or normal massage, ask for strong. You will see the stars for a little while, but it will be worth it.
