Good service and cool location. The man Alex behind the bar was the goat. He kept the drinks flowing fast on this busy night. Didn’t slow up or get flustered and great attitude. Sam at the door had the line flowing smoothly too. Overall a great night thanks to these guys

I enjoyed all levels, but the best drinks came from Alex. He was so hospitable and offered many options when my friends and I were indecisive about what we wanted. This is my first time here, and I will definitely be back. Being a hospitality manager, I can honestly say he is someone I would want on my team sucks hes not willing to move to NYC. Just left Decades and had so much fun! Great music, nice ambience, and best of all - incredible service (which is hard to come by in these DC clubs nowadays). The bartender, Jess, was the best! I love going somewhere and getting a bartender that is friendly, efficient, and makes delicious drinks. I told her I would come back just to hang out and get a couple drinks from her. I’ll be back with more of my friends next time :)

We had a great time at Throwback Thursdays—The music and atmosphere took us back, and we genuinely enjoyed every moment. Prycilla was an incredible host, making sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. Were definitely looking forward to our next visit to DC!

From outta town, I did a girls night with some friends here. The pat down was INTENSE, Ive never in my 45 years had someone toss a lip gloss tube outta my purse into a trashcan at the door. They let vapes in but no lip gloss. There was no one dancinging inside, it was lame. We finished our drinks, but they convinced my friend they gave her credit card back b4 she left. Dont remember which it was, but one of the bartenders kept her card. she wasnt given it back after she started her tab, shes 99 per cent sure it was the bar tender who took it. Then he bought chicfila the next morning, I hope it was worth it. Oh yeah, also they charged us 80 bucks for 3 tiny drinks....

Alex was did a great job. Took great care of us for my homies bachelor party. We were in from out of town and thanks to him we had a great experience here

The bouncer Vaughn on rooftop was very nice with help keeping randoms out of our section last night. He was really sweet. Decades is a 10/10

Great music with mix crowd. I can’t tell you how many people of different nationalities I met there. Go solo or as a couple you would find someone to have fun with. Also witnessed a fight which was taken care of in a min.Also a $20 cover for males.

My friends and I had a table at Decades on Sunday. We had a blast! Other than it being a little warm everything else was perfect. The music was fire and our server Prycilla was amazing!! We never had to ask for drinks or shots. She was flying around the room and it felt like she was always at our table making our drinks.

Went to the rooftop bar with friends on a hot day and this rooftop bar had some good fans that kept us nice and cool. The cocktail waitress Prycilla is super friendly. We had a great time.

If you find the deals then you can get in for free which is what my friends and I did for a bunch of weekends.Decades is so unique as a club especially when compared to the ones in Miami. Different floors, different music and vibes. Overall it’s awesome although it does get very packed as the night goes. If you’re not into stairs either then I’d say skip this club.Overall, they have many bars on each floor and they have hookah, snacks and what not. Overall the place is great but the stairs plus the multitude of people is not always the best convo.

Be prepared to earn your way into the rooftop bar, but only after you climb the world record of steepest steps up a never-ending staircase.Now, requesting a VIP section turned into a game of musical chairs as we were relocated thrice within the first 20 minutes. But credit where credits due, everyone was amiable, courteous, and professional.Their layout is about as unique as it gets for a rooftop bar. You know whats not unique though? The impromptu rainwater collection system they had in place. If you don’t mind a window sill lined with plastic cups to catch rainfall, that is a VIP exclusive you’ll be happy to have paid for.Its apparent that clubbing has taken a drastic turn since COVID, and it seems like Decades missed the memo on dress code enforcement. We arrived dressed to the nines, only to be surrounded by a crowd that looked ready to break into a spontaneous rendition of Woodstock 2.0.While the DJ was on point with music, the atmosphere (once crowded) was giving “middle school dance.” As Millennials, it was evident that Gen Z fits the socially awkward stereotype because there was a lot of standing in a circle as if to avoid scuffing their Sketchers.In the end, our saving grace was our little VIP corner, which became a haven amidst the adolescent festival happening around us. So, if youre looking to relive your teenage years in a rooftop setting and dont mind a little rainwater decor, Decades in DC is your spot.

Here for a couple weeks from New York. Decades was poppin last night Mia was our bartender and the service was top tier. She did a great job will definitely come back.

Decades was super fun! I stopped by with my friends for birthday drinks & the staff was very friendly. Drinks were great! Liz provided excellent service and made our experience a great one!

I’m not much of a club person, but even before stepping into the club the security guard Davon was extremely respectful and welcoming ! He also made sure to ensure the safety and well being of everyone who came in! The new security measures are a bit much but he really made us feel so safe! I’d definitely come back just because of him and the new security protocols!!!

To be honest.. Terrible experience. The bald white guy at the front entrance was extremely undelightful. He was at the front entrance around 1AM and was extremely rude. Not only did he grab my husbands private parts without consent, accusing him of having something “stored there” which he did not… he also repeatedly cursed at everyone in the line. But him grabbing my husband was extremely off putting and quite frankly weird. I understand security with a want searching for weapons and a wand—but he completely grabbed my husband out of nowhere! in his privates! Even the folks behind me were extremely confused—who evidently come to the establishment frequently. I was pretty put off by that...especially being that i am not from here. We will definitely not be coming back here and there was a whole swarm of people who left the line of the establishment before making it inside due to the way he was speaking to people outside. Truly a disappointment. And an embarrassment to the establishment!

Alex, the bartender at Decades, is an absolute gem! From the moment I approached the bar, their friendly demeanor and professionalism shone through. Not only did Alex mix up some of the best cocktails Ive ever tasted, but their attention to detail and genuine passion for mixology truly elevated the experience.

Went to decades to celebrate being with friends. Had a section on the hip hop floor. Kiki took care of us and she was AMAZING. Literally so kind and fun. Decades is always a vibe. Will definitely come back strictly because of Kiki’s service!

Cool bar. Multiple levels with different DJs playing different music on each floor. Came here pre-pandemic, the gimmick was a little bit more fun with separating the gimmicks by decade, this time seemed to be just all pop music. Be careful though, security will definitely gaslight you when it comes to getting inside.

The service was on point. Ashely was able to help out my group and I all night, she was on top of it. highly recommend checking this place out if you get the chance.

There was a shooting the first 5 minutes of being there. I had just given the bartender my credit card and I have had the hardest time trying to get my card back. I went back to the bar the following day and was told that I could not get my card because there was no manager there and my card was in a safe. When asked when a manager would be there, they said to come back the following day at 1:00. I went and there was no one there. No one answers the phone. Everyone was rude and unhelpful.

This was the most fun club I went to in DC! There are so many dance floors, youre almost guaranteed to find one that matches the aesthetic and music youre looking for! I had a great time here with my friends, we all enjoyed it, the drinks were good and we loved the music!

This place is the absolute perfect spot for a girls night out. I went here for a friends birthday party and we had an absolute blast. The bartender on the 2010s floor was amazing and very tentative. Dondee made the birthday girl feel special, he knows how to make a great drink, and has an amazing personality. This place has great vibes and plays great music. If you go here make sure to go and visit Dondee! I will definitely be coming back.

My friend brought me here on a random Friday night. Best clubbing experience I think Ive ever had in my life. Each level is like a new club, the music is great, women are beautiful, and the vibe is unparalleled. Id highly recommend giving this place a try!

I went last night for the first time. I was greeted by the person at the front that checked our ID’s named Davon. He was really courteous and was kind enough to tell us how to get to the top floor and where we can find the host. I would definitely come again

Music, sound system and the vibe was terrible. $20 for entrance. Might be one of the worst $20 spent in my life. I started losing hope finding a great club in DC.

The place itself and the music are good.There is a 20.00 cover to get in. I was fine with that as most places in DC are. The prices inside are insanly expensive. I got 2 small shots and it came to 32.00! We got a hookah and it was almost 80.00 and they didnt even give us a table and had us smoke standing up on the side where people kept bumping into. There is a bald Chubby security guard that walks around and thinks he owns the place. He pushes people around and yells at people constantly. you can tell he hates his job and hates being there. Management should fire him as he is rude. The rest of the security was fine.

Love the variety you get with all of the floors. Rooftop is my absolute favorite and so is Yezzy! Best bottle girl hands down!

Terrible place, do not go here. When I went there a drunk girl smacked me out of nowhere and knocked my glasses to the floor, as soon as I picked them up the bouncers were there to force me out. On top of that, as I walked out the door one of their employees tried to steal my wallet from my back pocket. Had to walk home alone, as did my friend later that night, who got mugged because I wasnt with him. Awful place, awful night.

This place is a scam. They were giving our free entry tickets for the 4th before 5:30. We get in line at 4:30 and they freeze the line for an hour in the pouring rain until its 5:30 and then start letting people in. We get to the front at 5:32 and they are charging $50 cover. Total scam avoid at all costs

Me and some friend went here for an Afro Beats Party. It was ok, service at the tables was subpar. We watched the hookah server refresh the girls next to us several times without coming to us. Unfortunately we won’t return.Bad service was good! The gentleman there was very attentive. DJ was also pretty good.

Good evening Decades. I am going to leave an interesting review for you and everyone to see.We came down to decades at 10 pm on Friday night. We were staying on the top floor and had a pretty good time for 2 hours. I was with 3 other people who were drinking (I personally don’t drink alcohol). The money spent total was about 1000 dollars for 3 people. The drinks in Decades are extremely heavy and evidently everybody gets drunk fast. 2 of the people I was with got drunk and didn’t feel so well, so I took one of them downstairs (others were still up) and the outside. Upon escorting them for fresh air the managing Security guard told me that my friend most likely wouldn’t be able to get back and I was completely fine with that. We went out and I tried to get back inside by myself to grab the other two people, as well as, some water for my friend. I was stopped by a bouncer. Description: 5 feet 10 tall, bold, white male, muscular. This bouncer told me I can’t come back to get my friends and I was annoyed but okay with that. When my friends came down with take out water, this bouncer told them to not take it out and they were forced to leave the plastic glasses behind and were aggressively told them to get out. I was spectating all of this and it was a miserable experience as the bouncer was so so aggressive with such great calm clients who were ready to listen. On top of that The bouncer rejected to radio the managing security guy to talk to me about this situation. I personally come from Paris, France and all nights out are always smooth. The ignorance of the security was unbearable at Decades and I hope the policies and security personnel can be changed. Afterwards I went down four times to different bars and clubs across the street to take out water and everybody was completely fine with it and offered to help me and my friends.Please take this into consideration! The venue itself is great no question. But high value, calm, elegant clients cannot be treated this way.Sincerely yours,Denis

As I’ve said before it’s rare for me to leave reviews unless an experience has an impact on me that is either incredible or extremely disappointing & Decades was nothing less than incredible! First let me say that as we jumped floor to floor enjoying the different music & dancing on each floor, the service was great but the bartender Warren was the man! It’s rare to see a bartender so attentive in an atmosphere as busy as Decades, he made some great drinks for us & assured we had everything we needed. A spot with bright lights, great music - 11/10 experience would definitely recommend & will certainly be back soon!!

I always have a good time at Decades, although there can be some real weirdos there. One dude tried following me around all night and, E, one of the bouncers noticed how uncomfortable I was and came to help me out. Nice guy

In the 3 years I have been going to Decades I have paid visit at least once per or every other month. Sometimes on personal occasion and others I take my younger clients for business socializing. When friends and family come to town it’s the top of my recommendation list. This was the worst experience yet. Thankfully I was only with two out of town friends this instance. We drove an hour into town with passes that we downloaded from online that stated “Free Admission” and then under it “Midnight”. So we waited until after midnight so we can get the discount applied to be told that it’s before midnight. The pass, based on the grammar, states the opposite. Since we came from out of town we had no choice to pay.Then two floors were near empty due to card machines being down. This meant that the top two floors were so packed none of us could move. Then after a few rounds of drinks we pushed to the roof where it was less crowded but so heavy with cigarette smoke we wanted to choke. The whole time we looked down at the venue next door through the windows and wished we went there as the ambiance seemed so much better.Re-counting in my head, we have brought Decades more than 36 customers through personal recommendations or through business over the last 3-4 years. That stops today.

I have been to Decades several times and I really liked this place a lot. Unfortunately, today I had a bad experience with my friend( he came from Texas). The security guard was very rude ( he is African American) to him. I talked to the supervisor and he said that the security guard doesnt usually work here. I really like this place, which is why I chose to spend my New Year here. My friend is very polite and friendly, maybe he was just too close to the security guard ( I would like to say sorry if he fells uncomfortable with my friends’s action) because night club was too crowded too . We are nice people and maybe he was hit by mistake. You all should training security guard and be polite . We paid for be here , not free .

Decades has a cool layout and the decor is very on-theme for each floor.If its packed, be prepared to pay a cover.Security was actually pretty chill and friendly.Be really careful going between floors because the stairs are STEEP.Drinks are unsurprisingly expensive as hell and the bartenders are smug and unkind. Its best to avoid attempts at conversation with them.Overall, the themes and crowd are what make this place.

Went to celebrate a birthday with my girlfriends and we had the best time! Each floor is a different decade of music and it didn’t disappoint! Not to mention the service! It’s a pretty busy atmosphere but we thankfully had Shawn - the best best bartender I’ve encountered in a while - we never had to wait for drinks and was the sweetest! We will absolutely be returning for our next venture out in DC!!

Ive been to decades a few times and its been great. However recently I went for a friends birthday and I made a purchase. next thing I know Im being charged again on a different tab. dont buy drinks from here. they will charge you extra than what the price originally is. I dont mind the taxes but that is not what it was.

There was this guys taking picture of a group of girls and molestes another girl. Told the guard on the photo and he said the guy had done nothing wrong and did not care to even tell the guy to get away or anything. Security there will not protect anyone specially women. Hope something changes.

The experience was underwhelming. They advertise that each level is a different decade, but the group I went with only got to experience the top floor and roof top. Drinks were very expensive. A vodka redbull was almost $17.

If you like expensive drinks, people mopping the floor every 5 minutes, a narrow stairwell, a very THOROUGH pat down and bad music then visit this place.

GHETTO! You spend almost $100 on Hookah and they place it on the FLOOR! They don’t give you a seat or anything. I’ve never done hookah standing up. Is this how it’s done in DC? This is my first time partying out here after finishing my PhD semester and I’m appalled at the treatment. Like, ew. They should be ashamed of themselves. Not to mention, the hookah is GROSS. If I could give 0 stars I would. I really want to dispute it with my bank. I’m so disgusted. Beyond ghetto.

One of the only clubs in the city that is always packed! Guaranteed to enjoy my night every time I come here. Staff is always helpful and the bar gets you your drink incredibly fast which can be a mission at other places. Met Remy at the door and he helped me getting in he was so nice and respectful and made me feel extremely welcomed, he even got me a drink after someone bumped into me and I spilt mine all over myself. Ill definitely be coming back here for my next club outing the vibes change every floor and is always immaculate no matter what level you are on. Thanks for the love Decades

This was our first time to Decades and it was a okay experience. Music was cool. Alex was a really dope bartender but the drinks are a bit overpriced in my opinion. Stairs are steep as hell so get ready for a walk lol. Overall it was good experience.

Upon walking into Rewind, the downstairs restaurant, the vibe, drinks and staff are ideal. Once the upper levels opened it was a true party. The bartenders exude good energy and the music leaves no crumbs. Decades has something for everybody!

Came after seeing gorgon city and had an Amazing time with a group of 8. The vibe was immaculate and Alex was an amazing bartender. Saw him catering to multiple groups at once which was super impressive for a busy Friday night. Chill spot and will certainly be back

Entry is $20, expensive but you get 5 floors - each with their own music genre from different generations (hence the name Decades), so if you dont like one floor just keep transitioning to the next until you find your rhythm. Best part is that Ive never seen waiting lines to switch from floor to floor. Top floor is both open/fresh air and free to smoke

Another guy in the line was so rude when we tried to catch up with our friends in the line when it was my girls 21st, we left and like the cover was so not worth it.

I’ve been coming to decades for a long time and it’s always a great experience. The different floors are so much fun to switch things up! I came for my birthday and decided to get a table. Our bottle girl Liz was amazing and made sure I had an great time on my birthday! I would definitely recommend getting a table for any big celebrations!

For those that are visiting or our local to the DMV area need to check out this club decades. I personally come here often and I am always taking care of from the bottle service ladies. They are the baddest chicks in the DMV, Specifically Liz she always seems to go out of her way to make sure Im taking care of which is really appreciative. Not only do the bottle service girls make sure Im taking care of but also management always comes by to greet me and it makes me feel very welcome. I cannot say enough good stuff about this place. Please check it out for your own and you can realize how awesome this place is as well as the staff.

What A great establishment 4 floors each floor different decade music great DJs so talented great drink specials awesome vibe! Place is hip clean and friendly. Gets crowded on weekends pure fun! Great table service reminds me of Vegas accept the prices are better haha. A++++ great heated Rooftop attended a couple of day parties also that were great!

Bouncers were very rude on the way in and the cover charge/drink total was very expensive for the atmosphere provided. Staff inside kept shoving us to get through and mop the floor. The DJ switched the music at abrupt points which made the whole experience abrasive and a little bit awkward.

I was just here last Friday for the first time and it was a phenomenal experience. The music was bumping, the bartenders were amazing, and the vibes were perfect. Security made me feel safe from the moment I entered to the moment I left. Even the folks outside before you get in the door were super kind. Security even prevented a fight on the rooftop! I even noticed that they kept an eye on super drunk folks and made sure that they didnt overindulge. The bathrooms were cleaner than any place Ive been in and Im being so serious. Ive been to places that smelled straight up like doo doo and they expect folks to drink there. And this was the rooftop bathroom that smelled clean!! This was such a fun club and Im coming back!!

Great club!! There are multiple dance floors with different music playing at each, which is great for a group. If you go right when it opens, then theres no cover charge or line (from my experience). The cover charge tends to range throughout the night. They do take card for the cover charge, so dont worry about bringing cash.

We came here for my girlfriends dirty thirty and it was the best experience. We were able to enjoy her birthday on the roof too and the manager Remy was super hospitable to our group. Music and drinks were on point. The vibe is immaculate! I know where I’m going for my birthday!

Decades is a lot of fun. A definite good time. We loved the different music on each floor. My friends and I had a great night esp because of our bartender Jessi. She made it a great experience. We will be back for sure!

Bar is fun but the music isn’t great and the security have the largest egos of any bar i’ve ever seen. They are begging for reasons to use force and kick people out. Sometimes you don’t have to do anything. Regardless, it’s fun with friends and if you find a nice place to sit it can be nice

Very Rude & Unprofessional Customer ServiceI paid to cut the line for me and 2 ladies and I still had to wait at the line at the stairs with people who paid general admission which makes absolutely no sense and it’s not justifiable or reasonable at all. I voiced my disappointment about this respectfully to the older bald gentleman at the front as well the Spanish gentleman at the stairs line. The balder gentleman said “thats how it is” and the spanish gentleman said “i don’t care its not my money”. That is extremely disrespectful to the customer’s time & money especially when this nearly 1 AM when there was a line at the stairs and quite frankly thats stealing people’s money and I don’t take that lightly.A club is still a business and as a somewhat frequent customer I expect better customer service than that. And I expect respect as well - i came to them as a gentleman and I got a rude response from both gentlemen. I expect respect for my money and for me approaching them as a gentleman but I what I got was a rude, snotty, entitled/arrogant attitude from both.And to be quite frank while I don’t expect that attitude from any club, no club in DC including Decades has the right to have people representing their clubs that way. There are far better clubs across the country that I’ve been to and I wouldn’t expect that behavior from those clubs as well (Vegas and Miami for example)

I decided to take out some friends from out of town and chose Decades as one of the destinations. Had some issues getting in, guess the bald doorman was having a bad day or just isn’t friendly, but Remy smoothed everything over. Made me feel welcomed and personally escorted my group to our section. Without Remy there, I doubt we would’ve stayed at this venue. 5-star service from Remy, he most definitely made it a night to remember!

New to the area… Decided to try a new place out for drinks. Shawn was my bartender. Excellent service: polite, courteous, personable and prompt. Can def hang with the best of the best from NYC, well done. Will def be back!

If I could give ZERO star,I would . My BLACK friends and I , a black woman experienced disgusting racism in the establishment. We were spoken to harshly and berated by the staff after bringing a water bottle into the establishment. Though it was somewhat against the very loose rules considering they allow fake ID’s to be used , they had all of the energy to yell at my friends and I . NEVER COME HERE, THEY ARE DISGUSTINGLY RACIST. Shame on you decades, SHAME ON YOU .

I was at Decades for the first time this past Saturday, 8/13/22. We paid our $20 cover and explored each floor (beware…$15 rail drinks) until we made it to the rooftop. I had considered purchasing a table in advance for my sisters bach party but got mixed reviews from our guests. However, once we made it to the rooftop, we decided to say “screw it” and purchase bottle service and hookah. I just want to say that the servers in VIP on the rooftop deck on 8/13/22 were FANTASTIC! We felt like VIPs and were treated as such. I cannot thank and recommend these ladies enough. We did have someone (unfortunately) get sick and the team handled it discreetly and with respect. That individual appreciated how quickly and quietly it was addressed. I will absolutely recommend Decades based on my own personal experience. Just please do not bring ANY medication or pills, as they will confiscate it at the door. A friend did have to go back the next day to get her anxiety medication. If we would have known, we would not have brought it with us. Overall great experience and thank you!!

I had a blasting time here last Sunday night. I enjoyed the music and the atmosphere. It was easy-going to get drinks and access to the rooftop (we just needed to wait a couple minutes). I could recommend this place if youre looking to get your night enjoyable!

This is the PLACE TO BE!!!!!! Each floor is so fun depending on your vibe. The rooftop is my personal favorite, the bottle girls up there are the hottest girls I have ever seen and I’ve been to Miami!!! Camila and Leslie specifically ALWAYS bring the energy and make me want to come back every single day. 10/10 recommend for any occasion if you like to have a good time!!!

There is no reason for the creepy security to be feeling people up. The lines are so long outside because its split between males and females. Everything would move faster if you had both security guards doing a quick check instead of them each feeling everyone up. Or since you all charge so much and make enough money, get metal detectors. The wait outside is so ridiculous and floods into the streets. Security is disgusting and needs to chill out. You suck!

So there I was, hidden behind the masses just trying to get another beverage. Standing on my tippy toes, waddling too and fro just trying to squeeze into the bar area when alas, a dark haired angel by the name of Jessi appeared. Ive always appreciated a bartender who can tame the masses and work with efficiency, but one that can not only spot you through the crowd but command that said crowd to let you through. I was in awe. Her service was impeccable and has set the bar very high for other DC bars. Ill be looking for her the next time I come to dance the night away

I worked with Decades for a large event and they were beyond helpful with the entire process. I was in contact with Remy and he was more than willing to assist me in any way he could. I had rented out the rooftop and the entire Decades team made it so enjoyable and such memorable night! Overall, will definitely using Decades for many more events in the future.

For a club this place is top notch in terms of being clean. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people were mopping the dance floors, bathrooms etc all night. The restrooms were clean, great music and it was comforting to see security present as well. Definitely recommend!

My friends and I started our pub crawl at Decades. There was a line to get in. They have a strict bag policy and only allow small handbags. I liked how they had multiple floors with music from different decades. One floor was playing pop, hip-hop, and house. It was pretty packed on the top floor but were able to access the bars on the lower floors.

Always a good time at decades. Music is always on point, drinks are good, and vibes are always immaculate. Big shout out to Alex for being the best bartender !

I enjoyed Decades a lot! Each floor has a different theme for each generation. I was told there was an 80s floor, but I guess that was gone. The 90s floor unfortunately was not open at the time we stayed, but the 2000s floor was definitely the best one in my opinion!I know its D.C. but it’s frustrating paying $20 for a beer and a rail drink. The whiskey and coke I got was very small portions too. That would be my only complaint, but thats me personally since im use to dive bars, but it was a lot of fun!! Would go back!

Allen is the best bartender in decades not sure what decade I’m in though

This is a 4 story walk-up so be prepared. This current club culture of no seating unless you buy a section is wack. So this is for young folks who want to be shuttled like cattle and have to pay for it. The drinks are ridiculously expensive, but the bartender on Sunday was very nice and professional. Music was ok.

I had such an amazing time out here! I was there for a friends birthday, and we were helped by Jessi, one of the bartenders there who honestly made our night! She was so hospitable and making sure we had everything we needed/ with our drinks on top of being extremely kind and friendly! Definitely recommend this place!

Ghetto. I attended a brunch event and should have known better because it was free brunch from 4pm-5pm. You have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to the bar where food was being served. Youll find yourself trying to open a door on every floor just to avoid the stairs. Even at the start of the event the food was not ready. When it was ready, it was buffet style : eggs, sausage, pancakes, Mac n cheese, BBQ wings. THERE IS NO WHERE TO SIT. They had one 2 seater couch that was constantly hogged by someone on their phone. At this point youre having brunch at the bar with everyone ordering their drinks around you. Speaking of drinks , be prepared to pay $15 for a specialty drink in a cup smaller than the red party cups. That price includes only ice and a garnish. Then they tac on an extra $3 gratuity and $1.50 tax. The bartender will take cash/tips and touch everything behind the bar including your straw and lime. The rooftop was closed until 5pm. The staff act like they cant make I contact or communicate about how the place works. The event was supposed to be afrobeats/Caribbean theme. I mostly heard Sean Paul and Chris Brown. I wanted to get my moneys worth and make the best of the event. But then my Uber swooped in and saved me. I recommend a hardcore pregame, comfy shoes, and take advantage of the free water like everyone else hanging at the bar (they did not come to spend money)

They lost my friend’s card on two separate occasions at the end of the night. The concept of the bar itself is cool, but I genuinely don’t understand how you lose a card lol that means they either don’t store them in a central location to grab them from and give back to people, or they’re being dishonest and just throwing them out or something. Either way, the place isn’t nearly nice enough to take that risk in my opinion. I recommend going and paying with cash cause I’m sure they won’t lose that.Edit: Updating score because they seemed to have found both my friends’ cards a few days later. Glad to hear they actually looked.

I frequently visit decades and its always been a good time. The bartenders are fantastic and pour great drinks. Riaz and Shawn are exceptional and great dudes. The bouncers have also been fantastic getting to know over the past few months as well.

We were a little nervous to visit decades after reading the reviews, but we ended up going for a bit to celebrate a friend’s birthday and actually had a great time!The line to enter was long, but moved quickly. They did a thorough check point where they pat you down, check bags and check jacket pockets. You get carded at the door and have to pay a $20 cover if you don’t have a VIP pass. We all got the free VIP pass off their website and, so we didn’t have to pay the cover fee.Once inside, you can visit each floor of the club to get a different music experience. The top floor was the most crowded, and it was very hot, but our group still had a good time dancing. One of the middle floors (I think it was the 90’s floor) was less crowded, and you could feel the air conditioning, so we stayed there most of the time. Our friends said the bartenders were nice, and we didn’t have any negative experiences with bouncers either.We had a ton of fun at Decades and would love to visit again sometime! If you haven’t been, I’d stop by and give it a try!

Decades is a very fun one stop shop in DC. They have a fantastic variety of music, ranging from 90’s to hip hop and EDM! The staff is great, and the bartender I had, Jessi, is the best! Her customer service was incredible and she represents the bar extremely well. Will be back!

I prefer ultra bar over decades . When u enter the first feel you get is that u walked into a restaurant as there 1st floor is take out service then u walk up to other floors. The rooftop is nicely designed but the entrance and stairs give you old school vibes. Over all i would think twice before going back there.
