Nice nightclub three floors. The drinks are very expensive though. They also were trying to charge five dollars for water even though they have a liquor license in Palm Beach County, which requires them to give a free water option.
If i could put zero stars i would. this place DENIED my friends ID because she was from ALASKA. we came for the free ladies drinks and these people said that her ID was fake. not serving someone because they are DIFFERENT is beyond me. i thought this was 2024?? the time of being inclusive?? she ended up showing her passport as well and still got denied and walked out by security. if you want to be disappointed then go to banko cantina for a disappointing time! they sure know how to give that!!
If you’re disabled don’t attempt to come here. Unwilling to allow my friend to use their fully functional elevator when she cannot physically climb stairs (in violation of a federal act protecting the disabled), despite the fact that we asked prior to getting in line and they made us wait 20 minutes and ALMOST charged us $70 to get in just to turn us away. Club isn’t all that anyways, I’ll never try to go back again.
Great ambiance...the decor and live band is a great touch. Live band on the 1st floor, 2nd floor lounge area with DJ (club vibes) and the 3rd floor is the rooftop with drinks and music. Staff was friendly, drinks were good and the food was ok. Veggies a little bland but other things flavorful. I will definetly be back.
I was surprised the food was so good. I had the Salmon, the vegetables could have been cooked a bit more. The nachos were amazing! Everyone enjoyed their food! The party just got better and better as the night went on and the drinks were good as well. Coming back soon!
8pm for dinner, Cowboy Steak and potatoes was delicious, as well as the Ceviche and chips with the red, green, and mango sauces YUM! Our beautiful Venezuelan server was very attentive and gracious, the bartenders and staff as well! 3 floors of music and dancing with smoking allowed in the open air rooftop, its all good 👍
We enjoyed some drinks and appetizers here during a private event. The food, drinks and service were great. Great Happy Hour prices!
This place was awesome. I went on Taco Tuesday, they were also having karaoke and the rooftop bar was open. I had their birria tacos and margaritas, which were so delicious. Definitely the best tacos I’ve ever had. The only issue I had was that the servers checked my ID 3 separate times… it was a little frustrating but I honestly don’t really blame them considering I recently turned 22 and often hear that I look a lot younger. Great place and atmosphere but note that tips are included in your bill already 👍🏻
Hands down the worst staff I have ever seen. Waitress was extremely unattentive, to the point I had to go to the bar to order, only to be greeted with an extremely rude bartender who also decided to put the gratuity on my check automatically. I highly recommend NOT going to this place.
First time visiting with friends and while the space is pretty interesting, the vibe wasnt overwhelming. However, Banko probably would be more fun when its not 100 degrees, cool rooftop bar after climbing several flights of stairs in un air conditioned space.Banko reminds me of any number of old buildings repurposed into bars serving food, like on Duval St. in Key West. May come back... Parking is a pain
I must start this review with a compliment to the beautiful view at their rooftop lounge, which in my opinion, might be the best spot for all the single ladies looking for an excellent place in Palm Beach to have a fun night! However, the reason for only 3 stars ⭐️ is because their passion fruit jalapeño Marguerita was not good. Margarita had no flavor or quickness to it! The appetizers are large portions but a little bland.
Great spot for tacos and drinks. Plenty of great options on the menu. House cocktails are fantastic, and they are always trying new ones to add. The birria tacos are bomb! They were better the first time we had them, but I think because they brought them on a plate not the taco holders so the juices kinda soaked into the tortilla. Even so, they are delicious! The music is always on point and the atmosphere is quality for any kind of occasion. The manager is hands on and helpful with his staff and kind with customers. Highly recommend.(They put an automatic gratuity of 18%. I always tip 20%, so I dont mind it. Just an FYI.)
Great for a date night with your significant other or an outing with friends. Service was great so you can worry about the important things like having a good time and enjoying the food and drinks. Good looking Palm Beach crowd with second story club (closed for covid) and rooftop bar. Try one of their pitchers if you like sweet drinks.
What a fun place! Taco Tuesday is the night to go! They had a fabulous DJ and some great karaoke! As for the tacos themselves, absolutely delicious. I had the pork as well as the lobster taco for a total of $8. I chose lettuce wraps but my friend chose a chicken and a steak taco and she raved about the steak. And oh my gosh, the margaritas are strong and delicious! Get in there!
Me and my party of 13....Had a last-minute reservation they were able to accommodate and had excellent service with very short notice. Food was also top notch! 🤤
Pros: Great location. Nice decorations. Roof top environment available not the best of views. Friendly staff when they finally get time to get to you.Cons: Drinks were horrible. Bartender even admitted she knew that everyone complains about their margarita mix. (It’s a Mexican restaurant you would think that’s the one thing they have right. ) The place is huge and under staffed. The food was definitely not worth the prices. Simple guac and chips came with like 12 chips. (See picture for proof). The Fajita plate did not come out sizzling and actually placed on a Regular place. The food was actually warm. There was no real flavor. Almost tasted microwaved.Tips: Try the drinks before buying the pitcher. If they are still using the same margarita mix as I had then you are going to be disgusted by the taste. It tastes as if the margarita mix is spoiled old.
I loved Banko, but the problem is that the tips are included in the bills. Couple of Fridays ago I went and it was ladies drink free until 10 pm. It was 9 pm and the bartender charged me for two extra drinks at the regular price so he could charge more money on the tip. It happened twice already... also in one different place where they included tips on bills. So I was disappointed to the point I wanted to talk to the manager and suddenly he changed the charges. VERY UNETHICAL. And also bartenders seem to be very arrogant.I used to go on Fridays for food and some drinks but not anymore.People, always check your bills before you pay!
This was a fun lively restaurant with excellent Mexican food. The service was outstanding. I ordered the nachos which were huge so you can share this with the table. The only negatives were a lack of true hot sauce (they offered cholula and Tabasco) and the prices of cocktails (very overpriced) but the fun ambiance makes up for this. This is a great spot for big groups.
Not great. The nachos and guac were decent and good portions, but everything with chicken is inedible (dramatic; the chicken is just super dry and not seasoned). I didn’t like any of the tacos I tried (sirloin steak, pork, and chicken) or the steak fajitas. The burrito came with just rice and steak inside of it with no beans or vegetables. Wouldn’t recommend. Go around the corner to Rocco’s Tacos or El Camino.
Garbage place . As a local Business owner, they rejected my business and told me I couldn’t enter because of my shorts, then turn around and let multiple other people enter with shorts…. When asked why we couldn’t enter because of our shorts, they told us we don’t know what we’re talking about… used to be good now ran by those with power trips
I ordered the ribeye steak which was fantastic. Cooked perfectly and very tender. The broccoli that came with it was also delicious. My table enjoyed the tacos and drinks we ordered. Also appreciated the live music. Overall a great time although our waitress seemed unimpressed with us lol. Maybe because we were a bigger group. I wouldn’t really recommend the street corn though, it was a bit too sweet for me. I would still come back to get another steak!
I tip always, but you guys doing auto gratuity AT A BAR is a quick way to make sure repeat customers dont come back. Pay your employees, it isnt my job to do so.
This place has 3 floors, so we had dinner in the first floor. The food was delicious, it was full of flavor. We had the pasta with shrimp and lobster and also a caesar salad with shirt steak....After dinner, we head to the roof top and ordered some drinks, their drinks are a bit pricey. But, we had a good time up there; the DJ plays a little bit of everything. The view is not much to mention, but I enjoyed the vibe.
I visited this place last night everything was mostly good , music was decent , the drinks where fairly priced . I made it up to the roof top and saw 3-4 people smoking cigarettes so i thought it was fine for me to light up a little joint . The Security guard came up to me and threw me out for smoking weed in an open air roof top . I have been to clubs all over the country for some reason this club gets really offended with marijuana . Dont go over there thinking your going to light a joint the staff there are CORNY . We are in the year 2024 who cares about a little weed ? This club is for the SQUARES . If you wanna turn up in peace there are other places down the block ……
Worst place ever, me and my wife got pushed down the stairs by the bouncers . Their reaction was very unnecessary. We were already leavening did not have to treat us like that .Really 5 or 6 bouncers to bully a girl ?Unfortunately I can not give this place a 0 star because the page does not give me that option. They were very aggressive and unprofessional. We were not doing anything wrong. My wife was told to leave because she didnt have any shoes on ( which I totally agreed ) Couldnt even let me explain the reason to explain that I went to the car to get her more comfortable shoes because the ones she was wearing the heel had broken. When I came back the boucer told me that shes gotta leave and I said yes. Were leaving right now. I literally came back to get my wife and leave before we were even told to leave.FOR WHAT I CAN SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING ABOUT SECURITY BEING AGGRESSIVE.THIS PLACE IS TRAAAAAAAAAASHHHHHHHH
It was quite on Tuesday early. Our bartender was the best. The tacos were absolutly spot on. Going back to check the place out late Friday night.
Nothing like getting kicked out for putting my head down because I was tried, I explained that I wasnt intoxicated and the bouncer was being forceful and rude. Good job for bullying a girl for putting her head down. Nice job!
Bartenders seemed stand offish upstairs last Fri and one bartender in particular she just didnt seem like she wanted to be there. whatever she was going through was all over her face and in was projected through her interaction with my friends and I.
Hit up Banko Cantina for a Palm Beach leadership networking event, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The spot was buzzing with energy, creating an ideal backdrop for leaders to connect and vibe. The crew at Banko Cantina really showed out with top-tier service, making each of us feel exclusive. And the food? Absolute culinary magic, perfectly in tune with the high-energy atmosphere of the event. Every bite was a conversation starter. Banko Cantina proved to be the perfect host for such a prestigious gathering, elevating our Palm Beach leadership networking to a level that was both inspiring and unforgettable. Major props to them for pulling off such a classy and impactful event!
Thiefs. Just checked My bank statement, multiple charges from this place when I got and originally paid for was a highnoon. Bartender tipped herself on my card after the fact. Very very shady people. Ive contacted My financial institution
Bouncers are aggressive, witnessed them pushing females around, letting their authority get to their heads. Give off an unsafe bad atmosphere.
Two years ago I went this place to have a great time and I felt safe and comfortable with the service. However, I visited this place before Christmas and was shocked that they do not give any form of water for free. No free water cup of any sort. They want you to pay $5 for a water bottle and that is the only way you hydrate.plus, they add 20% gratuity on ALL charges. I went o the first floor and they completely ignored me when I asked for water. Then I want to the 2nd floor to ask for a water cup and they denied me. I cannot believe that a club in the heart of west Palm denies free water cups. Please avoid this place at all cost, I want to see them shut down. It is a hazard that they do not serve water cups.
Great food and service but when the band starts playing its wayyyy too loud and made us leave ASAP.When I have dinner with friends I want to be able to at least hear them when they scream. That wasnt the case.
Advertised “ladies drink for free on patio” and did not honor it. Bartender was rude and said I needed to apply to drink for free? Worst experience at any bar period.
So on a whim my friends and I decided to go there for Taco Tuesday. I reserved a table for 10 but for the 9pm slot because that is all that was available. Re really wanted the 8pm reservation. So I reached out to them on FB Messenger asking if they would be able to give us an 8pm reservation instead of the 9pm and the accommodated with no issue.I checked out the reviews before I went and was kinda skeptical. I read how they over charge.... They charge extra for using credit cards... ect.None of that happened. I brought cash to keep it simple and got charged for everything I ordered. The prices are fair. The food is good. The drinks are great. Kathy/Cathy our server was on point. She was very friendly and attentive.I look forward to eating there again. Maybe I will try brunch there.FYI.... Parties of 5 or more may not spit their checks and parties of 6 or more will have 18% gratuity included.
Worst place ever, my husband and I got pushed down the stairs by the bouncers . Their reaction was very unnecessary. We were already leavening did not have to treat us like that .Really 5 or 6 bouncers to bully a girl ?Unfortunately I cannot give this place a 0 star because the page does not give me that option. They were very aggressive and unprofessional. We were not doing anything wrong.I was told to leave because i didnt have any shoes on ( which I totally agreed ) Couldnt even let me explain the reason to explain that I had sent my husband to the car to get me more comfortable shoes because the ones i was wearing the heel had broken. When he came back the boucer told us that we gotta leave and we said yes. Were leaving right now. We were literally leaving before we were even told to leave because my husband did not find the flats that I thought I had in his car .
Food was OK, ordered Tacos and they didnt taste like anything, the bartenders are hit or miss, if you drink only one style of drink they will taste different everytime regardless of if the ingredients are the same. The roof top DJ was nothing special. Great roof top but alot of missed opportunities.
Went for Karaoke night. Tacos were dry. Beef nachos were pretty good, it’s a large serving. Good to order for the table. Service was ehh. My friends said their drinks were great. I had to walk around the whole restaurant to find someone to tell me where the bathroom was, you take the stairs to the second floor, I eventually figured out. The churros for desert was great. My husband doesn’t like chocolate and they drizzle it with chocolate, which was not indicated on the menu. But I loved them. It’s a good dessert to share with the table. I’d go back for the karaoke but not the food. I’ll eat before I go lol. Fun place to just get drinks though.
Very large bar, multiple levels of fun and fantastic food!
Security staff tried to sell cocaine to the customers, rooftop bar staff is extremely rude, the one lady that worked on the left side of the bar walked away from us with an extremely rude attitude and refused to help us after we asked her for another round. Then I decided to take the card back to pay the bill. Even that took more than 10 minutes to get ANOTHER bartenders attention just to get the card back. Im NOT coming back here and NOT tipping anyone here a single penny! Dont come here, rather goto Roxys
Had high expectations! Always walk by and wondered where the music was bumping from. Decided to try sunday brunch on the rooft. Since the tip is included on the bill, the servers pay no attention to you. They take advantage of the fact that a tip is granted regardless of service. Ordered chicken and waffles, had no flavor at all. Dry a** waffles with barely any meat on the chicken. Not southern style at all. One of the guys who wasnt a server and wont receieve a tip from the bill helped the most while servers were at the bar on their phone. The atmsophere is fantastic though! Music on point, good environment very lit, mimosas amazing. Just service and food was a dissapointement
Definitely not the place for good food, lol. Im sorry, but for party yes very very nice
I had only ever been to Banko for the club atmosphere so wrote off the actually kitchen… finally went here for happy hour and was blown away by how delicious all of the food was! The happy hour is GREAT especially for downtown west palm and the food was fresh and flavorful. I especially loved that they brought out different salsas for us to sample. Service was 10/10 even including the man bussing the tables. We will be back often!
Very clean venue has good music and a nice crowd if you are looking for something to do in the West Palm downtown area.
Banko Cantina has 3 different bars on 3 different floors all with different music and vibes. It was a great experience and I will be returning again soon.
Went there tonight visiting palm beach. The bartender was not friendly at all. And he was smoking weed at the bar! Like who does that in front of customers lmao. No wonder it was empty.
A Friday night with a very young crowd, and I wish it would have been better. The place is set up oddly with the only bath room on the 3 floor. The hand rails were so dirty it stained our hands black. The food was not bad, and the drinks were good, service was ok at best. Most bar tenders were on there phones without smiles. The biggest concern the music sucked! We arrived around 8:30 pm for dinner hoping to stay and dance the night away. Around 10pm the music was shut off completely for about 15min nothing. Up till then it was good. The music turned back on and had completely changed. It went from modern Latin/club mix to 90s with an 80s love and marriage theme song. SeriouslyAround 11 we decided to hit the 2 floor that was still closed, very disappointed. We went to the first floor and that was dead. The music there was an old Cuban salsa. What we had hoped to be a night of dancing was a big disappointment at Banko.Be aware, the for your convince 20% added change is unnecessary. It helps promote subpar service from the wait staff who know they no longer have to do a good job. Will not return
Bartender was dry but his drinks made up for it! Food was delicious and atmosphere is content worth!
Really disappointed and just appalled at the service we received tonight. Went there for a military birthday ball after party and was told we couldn’t be in vip because we “”didn’t buy a bottle”” yet we spent over $100 there and paid to be in vip with the rest of the marines. Absolutely disgraceful and just rude to be treated the way we were.
I’ve been coming here for years. It’s always been great for drinks and a fun atmosphere but, My experience yesterday over the 4th of July weekend has me in DISGUST. The DJ Selecta Steve was insulting Women over the microphone. A place where we should be able to enjoy ourselves and celebrate, Women were being torn down.Security even affirmed that he does this all the time and I myself do not understand how he is getting away with it. Disgusting!! Do better Banko.
Stopped here on a short weekend trip and had a great time. Happy hour prices were extremely reasonable. Food and drinks were amazing! And the atmosphere was amazing. Beautiful and elaborate decorations, would definitely recommend to anyone.
Taco Tuesday here was disappointing. If you go, ask that the margarita be made with fresh lime, unless you can stomach the standard sour mix. If you order tacos, avoid the fish (rubbery), the shrimp (tiny) and the steak (dry). Better yet, go elsewhere
I was visiting my sister so not from this area. However, the hostess was very rude to me and my friend dont know why or what the problem was but given the music and live band we decided to check it out anyways. Server was ok nothing too fancy. Drinks were ridiculously expensive for some reason and food was mediocre. The live band now that was worth it even though some how our meal for just 2 was over $100 bucks and had one drink a piece and cheapest thing on menu
Wonderful atmosphere very live filled with good vibes. everyone ask for manríquez if you go down to Bankos Cantina he gave us a great experience and was on top of his game. very attentive !
I love a good whiskey sour and so far in my 38 days in Florida and the 13 bars Ive ventured to on my days off. This place has by far the best whiskey sour! They hand make it from what the bartender said and it tastes fantastic, I gotta be honest I didnt try the food but Ill definitely be back to give it a go, a glowing recognition needs to be given to Mercedes and Maddie for being wonderful hosts at the bar and making me feel welcome! Especially enjoyed the music and the atmosphere! See yall next week!!
I would rate this place a 5 star , the atmosphere was a vibe. We had called inquiring about rooftop reservations for brunch and was told we could reserve for the rooftop for brunch and that was a no go, which was a disappointment. Also our service was not all what we expected, very poor service. But the food was delicious and the mimosas were crispy!
Avoid this club. Last year there was an incident where someone got violated in the dance floor and they took too long to step in.Got kicked out, All I said was thank you for playing a song I requested and they said no and then ended up playing it after 10 minutes later. When I showed the dj a thank you message on the phone. The dj ended up taking my phone and the security ended shocking me and kicking me out the club over something that could’ve been simply discussed about. Can’t be grateful for now a days cause if you do you get kicked out the club for no reason. Someone told me to get my phone back the next day what a horrible experience.
Awful service all the way around from the manager to the staff and security guards. The girl at the front desk gave our reserved table away even though we called letting them know we were going to be late (she said it was fine) we get there and it’s a whole commotion and then she tried to be slick under her breath saying “don’t give me an attitude”. They placed us upstairs with no server for an hour, it was super hot, more fans need to be added when you gave 50+ people upstairs. The security was rude, the manager hung up on the bartender when we wanted to speak with him, no server came for brunch so we had to order lunch instead, brunch ended at three, we sat ourselves at 1:30. Unprofessional, it’s a nice vibe but everything else about that place is horrid. Needs to be shut down. Not to mention, my wife had to tip the employee 100 just to get us a place to sit downstairs and eat, then spend 275 for a section just for the same rude host to try to give it away to some young men she was attracted to because they had expensive shoes on after we paid.
After spending $1300 for a private table on the 3rd floor we ended up having one of the most rude experiences I have ever had. I don’t write reviews but felt this warranted one. It started raining around 3am so we were forced to vacate our private table. This honestly didn’t bother us as we got to enjoy most of the night as a group with private table service. After rain started the only option was to go down to the 2nd floor with no private section. Within 5 mins of dancing on the 2nd floor I was abruptly grabbed by 2 security guards and was told the owner asked us to leave. When asking for a reason we were ignored and were told they would forcefully remove us if we did not leave. Thankfully no one was drunk so we politely left and spoke to the front door security. He reiterated he personally worked the 3rd floor and saw us all night behaving respectfully and had no idea why the owner made this choice. I assume it was a case of mistaking us for someone else. I want to warn anyone whose considering spending any decent amount of money here to avoid this place completely. The customer service and owner is the worst I have ever experienced at a club/bar. Normally your taken care of after spending that kind of money at a solace and specially when we didn’t complain about rain ruining a private table we paid for. Would never go back. Save your money and go somewhere that knows how to cater higher end parties.
Food and drinks were bland, service was extremely slow (almost non-existent) on the rooftop. I wanted to love this place because of their outdoor rooftop seating, but I wont be coming back.UPDATE AS OF 10/28:Ended up back at Banko during a bar crawl we had purchased tickets to. After our included drinks and ordering more + tipping well, I was informed that the only water they offered was a bottle of water to purchase. Im aware its not required for bars to provide free water, but what an awful look. I watched a girl who probably had alcohol poisoning have to be carried off by her friends- I bet they would have charged them for a bottle of water, too- even in a medical emergency. Ive updated my review from two stars to one, and I will never be stepping foot back in this establishment. Horrible.
This may be the best live Latin music venue to check out on a Saturday night in downtown WPB for dancing, bar none!! All across the board (food, service, atmosphere, music variety) this popular eatery is 👍🏽👍🏽!!
This place has been great for the past year. I usually visit with my boyfriend. We always sit at the bar. Today for the first time we got charged for gratuity. The receipt specifically said that gratuity was added for parties of 5 or more. I come from the service industry and I usually tip servers over 20% if they do a great job. But this time we got charged 20% gratuity and my my boyfriend had to wave to Mercedes every single time we needed a drink Or everything else for our entree. Mercedes was texting on her phone the entire time we where there . I don’t think will ever go back. Specially because we were the only people at the bar and there was no one else in the first level of the restaurant.
Nice looking Mexican restaurant but the food tastes horrible. The chicken flautas taste like fake chicken like from the can. The chorizo and cheese had a bad taste and the meat was NOT chorizo.(which made me sick) The birria tacos was.. ehh. Had better in many other places. Nice place to drink or hang but dont expect much with the actual food.( If you notice most comments are based off of atmosphere (which is great!) and thats where they get the high ratings from ). If you want good authentic Mexican food then this is NOT the place for you.
HORRIBLE!!!! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!!!! Everyone is RUDE! Their customer service doesn’t exist at all! All the female waiters appear unhappy and aren’t friendly at all. My drink was not made correctly, when I brought it to their attention, they stayed I needed to buy a new one. Ha!!! What???? Ive given this place multiple chances and I promise it’s bad each time. Forget the drink, the service from the girls here is so bad. The owner of whomever the black dude said he is, that walks around scoping out the place and not actually FIXING issues is just as bad. With all of their allegations, I don’t see how they’re still service. Their BRUNCH food is good, the service will make you not want to return at all.My friends were visiting town, and I thought I’d give them a shot, it was a hot mess. From the guest that dance around all over the place with no regards to anyone else, to the service. They do not cater to minorities at all. They constantly push us away. I could go on… 0 STARS!!!!
Awful customer service. Took us 5+ phone calls over the course of four hours to even get ahold of someone. The phone call was loud, the person taking the order was abrupt and rude and the background music/walkie made it hard for me and her to hear. Placed an order for pickup and was called back moments later saying it had to be picked up before 5 because they were closing. Then she changed her mind when I told them to cancel then she said nevermind but we can’t be a second later than 5 because they were closing. Very off putting experience and frustrating. Hopefully they’re better in person.
I truthfully have nothing bad to say about this place, because I had an amazing time there with my friend. The hostess is such an amazing person, and went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and well taken care of. The atmosphere is exactly what youd expect on a Friday/Saturday night, their food comes out fast and is good and their drinks are also good. 10/10 would come back!
On the positive side... a beautifully appointed old bank building converted into a restaurant. The owners obviously invested heavily, creating eye candy in terms of fixtures & fittings. But, we go to restaurants for good food & service. The food was nicely presented, but bland & tasteless. Service was indifferent. Ordered two pints of draft beer - server brought bottles. When asked about beer on tap, he said I dont think its working. The restaurant should get 1-2 stars. They also have a rooftop bar & a nightclub - maybe those are great (5 stars)? Im not sure, but we wont be going back for lunch or supper. Nice place though.
This place has such a beautiful decor. They did a great job.First floor is to dine in and live music after 9-10pm.Second floor is night clubThird floor open night club.Great atmosphere to have a fun time with friends!Food was good!
Was told we couldnt go in due to it being over capacity. After waiting outside. A friend of ours who works here let us in. When we got upstairs, it was dead. Front door security is definitely racist. Dont come here if you have brown skin.
On the third floor, the security guards are aggressive, its probably their job to get people out!! but it is always said that I listen first before taking the wrong one.. in the same way I am sued legally..It will be a bad experience. Be careful..
Great bar, they have a total of 3 levels. First floor they had a live band show, the second floor was a club room, that was banging. Then the third floor is a rooftop bar which had really good views of downtown WPB.. Nice place overall and a very diverse group of people.
After reading the reviews I was hesitant to go but got these free admission cards so went and absolutely loved it. Everyone was so friendly including the bouncer/security guy. The music was great and there were dancers there that mightve been hired by the bar because they were trying to get everyone on the dance floor which Ive never seen. It was like one big happy family. Loved it!
Me and my husband had a fantastic time at Banko this past weekend! We had a really great dinner, delicious drinks, and a downright good time! The first floor is a fun bar/restaurant that serves food and drinks, the second floor is a happening night club with amazing music and the third floor is an awesome roof top bar. We checked out all three spaces and found ourselves at Banko Cantina long into the evening!
Started the night off at this location, had a decent upstairs bar with a good view of the city. half the dance floor was roped off for private seating which was kind of a waste of space. they moved a group that wanted to hookah to the back and they werent too happy about it since they were no longer out in the open. The drinks were pretty high, werent great and the DJ wasnt taking requests. I mean it was a cool place, just not really our scene.
10/10 experience at Banko Cantina! Music and atmosphere was so fun and lively. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS! Good prices, good happy hour deals, good energy. Will definitely be going back and bringing all my friends.
This is one of the best, Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. I just so happen to stumble across it and there half off small plates during their happy hour is truly a treasure.
Nice place but short on various tequilas. If you’re the type that drinks anything you’ll love it but if you drink higher end you may want to ask what they actually have before you get comfortable. And this is the day of the super bowl when all bars should be stocked and ready.
I went for my daughters birthday with some friends and only had drinks its a nice amosphere to spend the night and music was great has a great view and a large swimming pool a hotel is connected will return again
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!!!!!THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.Security staff and bouncers are bullies , aggressive and bunch of criminals. This is not the first time this place has issues with the security staff. They are know for having the most unprofessional security staff .
The new owner has really done a fantastic job with the new menu and more! Skirt steak I had was perfectly cooked. Everyone at our table said their meals were delish and they would come back. Place is very clean. Friday night the Prime Rib special was absolutely delicious and the show was a lot of fun to dance to while they played songs from Motown days. We will be going back.
Great Restaurant and club! Great atmosphere and friendly staff! You can enjoy your dinner/ happy hour and then go dance. They have a dj in each floor ( 3 floor). The last floor is a terrace with a bar! Fantastic place to enjoy west palm beach by night!
First and last time in Banko Cantina. Really was not what I was expecting. The food was super greasy, I got a burger with fries and literally the fries tasted like burn oil. My girlfriend got beef fajitas, and the plate had more grease than what an actual fajitas plate brings, a pool of grease. The only good thing was the waitress because she was really attentive, other than that, nothing.
Apparently second floor now is closed off and you can only get in if you are Hispanic. If thats not ridiculous enough, even if you are Hispanic if you are black or white you got to prove to some bouncer that doesnt speak spanish and barely speaks english that you are Hispanic. So now you know... If you dont come wearing your sombrero and bring your maracas Banko not the place. I would try Myers
Was pleasantly surprised by the Happy Hour deals! Loved the Holiday decorations--they went ALL OUT!
Ambiance and drinks are cool. I went on a Labor Day Sunday and it seemed very slow crowd wise. I hope it does pick up and vecome a popular spot because it has aot of potential, especially with the rooftop.
I feel really bad for the server. She was the only one working last night. She had several tables and couldnt pay attention to us. Food was good and the orders were right. I dont blame the server, management should be accountable here. We were all left wonder what the heck was happening, such a large place and sparse amount of staff. Maybe theyre a nightclub first??
Came for Taco Tuesday for our first visit. It certainly will not be our last! Loved the tacos, especially the lobster. Mango salsa was also a big favorite at the table. Good service and healthy pours complimented the food as well. Definitely value for the money and worth your visit!
Went on a Sunday for brunch mind you the food isn’t that good. Sat down it took 45 minutes and me asking 3 of the wait staff to get some type of attention. One had an attitude with me and another claimed that I sat myself. Never got food. Went upstairs to the 3rd floor and I assume the bar staff just don’t like women with money because I gave her a 50 for my drank and when she gave me my change 3 of the bills luckily flew behind the bar. So if you are hungry, a woman who have expensive taste, and attract attention stay away. Also highly disappointed I’ve been to this bar plenty of times but ever since the hire of new employees it has caused them to lose not only me but some of my very influential friends.
Amazing decor on first floor where we ate. Christmas themed, but you know they do a great job for any holiday or off time as well.. Food was great and has reasonably priced options. Pitchers of Margarita is a reasonable $25 but you need half the pitcher to feel even the slightest effect from the alcohol.
Awesome venue, never ate there though, just went to go dance. Bartenders try to rip you off. Drinks are $$$$$ but that’s to be expected at a club. Every floor you go on, they’re a different price and you always get underpoured on the second floor. I dont really drink there anymore because of that. It’s still an awesome place to go dancing and hang out.
I should give ZERO stars to this place. I was there 2 weeks ago on a Friday night and the bartender on first floor (short guy, hispanic looking) charged me $158 for 5 shots of patron and 3 beers and he also charged me $54 for no reason. I was in a party of 5 people and HE did the SAME exact thing to other 2 of my friends charging for drinks we NEVER asked for (they should really take this in consideration, as they might get into big issues for letting this bartender do what he does). We tried to contact the manager SEVERAL times and we NEVER had a response and/or a courtesy call back to any of us. Very unprofessional from a manager, and the service was not good at all for them to charge 20% gratuity. I was also in the rooftop and was served by Sabrina, she was nice; but in general this place should under investigation for what they do. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one complaining about this bartender charging extra drinks.
Went here for my parents 30th anniversary, the atmosphere was fun. The food and drinks were great, ordered pitcher of premium margaritas super good not watered down like most places. A mariachi band was in the restaurant playing songs it was so fun. The second floor has a lounge soon to be open and the third floor rooftop was unbeatable, cant wait to go back!
Banko Cantina has an okay atmosphere, it has fun and modern decor. Great for picture taking. I went there to enjoy the nightlife...the bartenders make great drinks but arent very friendly. The tacos are good. The roof bar is fun.
If I could leave a negative review, I would. I visited this club with family while I was visiting from out of town. We bumped into a group of girls and they started a fight out of no where. Security quickly came...which I thought was to the rescue, but instead they pushed us into the stairwell, practically down the stairs, while punching 2 other family members, including a mother of 3 (whos birthday we were out celebrating) in the head. We tried to calmly talk to the bouncers, but they were having none of it. This club needs to reconsider its security policy about how they eradicate violent situations and especially how they handle exiting female attendees. This establishment will never see my business again and judging from the other reviews is not far from a situation that resuts in a lawsuit or even worse causing someone great bodily harm.
Coming into Bank Cantina is beautiful the scenary is worth the visit. The food I would have to say is very delicious. However I would say BE WARY OF YOUR CHECK! I was up charged far more than what the menu had stated my plate costs. On top they added a rounding fee on my check. WHAT IS A ROUNDING FEE! I will not be spending unnecessary money here again.
Im forever in search of the best Tacos. This place serves some pretty good ones. From their selection of tacos I think the steak, and the shrimp tacos are the best they have. The music is a little loud, but the service is good. Our waiter Joe was a good, friendly, attentive waiter. Thank you, well be back.
Went for taco Tuesday and Food was really, really bad. Bland, tortillas tasted old. Just really bad. Slow waitress. And to top it all off, we were charged an environment fee, and it seems as if maybe the waitress added extra tip for herself, or we were just blatantly wrong fully charged.
Banko for brunch Is very good!! The food is great however the mimosas are watered down. They put the champagne in a pitcher with the oj and its mostly oj. They dont seem fresh at all. It doesnt get packed til later like 2pm but its fun.
Ive been at banko a few times for brunch and always enjoy it, today I have to say I probably never go back. Its a shame because its a great place to have brunch. We went for my brothers birthday, and of course we had unlimited mimosas, about an hour and a half in, I started to feel a little sick, I decided to step outside and regroup. When I felt better, I tried to enter again, but I was told I was not allowed back in. Security had flagged me to not reenter. Now, I didnt cause any fights, didnt drop a drink, didnt bump into anyone, nothing. I was with a party of 12, if there was a concern why didnt ANYONE say anything a bouncer, the waiter, a manager? They waited until I stepped outside on my own accord and then didnt let me back in? Ive NEVER had experienced anything like this. I understand that people can get out of hand, but here it is three hours later and am writing this review, so was I a candidate to not be let back into venue? When we asked security and the manager there was no answer other than thats what they were told. By who? Its crazy how they just decided to keep me out without a reasonable reason. Never again.
Great spot. Play different types of music on different levels so something for everyone. Drinks are expensive, but similar to everywhere else in West Palm. Overall a fun night out. Venue itself is pretty cool especially first floor and rooftop bars.
Great spot for taco Tuesday, happy hour. Tacos were warm and freshy made. $2 chip and Salsa was added to our bill, they just brought it to our table so we taught it was free or included guess not. There was also an unexplained service charge (added to the cc total charge, not on the first bill brought over) which was odd and again not expected since we were a table of two. But since it is under $2 again I ignore it. But kinda odd and unexpected.
Great experience. Keep your expectations realistic, as always. Dont expect a huge menu. Its great food and will fill you up. Atmosphere is awesome.Cant speak for their drinks, though.
If I could give this place negative stars I would. This establishment has Absolutely HORRIBLE management and to add to that they’ve trained their staff to be exactly what they are…DISGUSTING! My friends and I were treated like trash all because of a mistake THEY MADE and they refused to have a care in the world or compassion about the situation. Majority of their male security in that establishment put their hands on females and are SICK. SHUT THEM DOWN NOW!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT. And to think I spent my money here I wish I could get it back and NEVER have went to this place!!
Ive have not experienced such horrible customer service tonight! They were literally racially profiling people at this club tonight! I was so disgusted by how I was treated including my friends and other African Americans! If there is a policy of no white shoes that goes for all races not excluding just Caucasian and Spanish individuals! The manager including the bouncer were turning away African Americans and letting in about 8-10 people of Caucasian and Spanish background with the same shoes on! I was so appalled! I tried to speak to an employee and explain our concerns and we were basically treated like dirt. Im so hurt and embarrassed! Please share and spread the word! We have to stop this unacceptable behavior!
First time there for happy hour on Wednesday until 8pm..food is delish and Marcelos is such a great host. Go check them out. I will go back probably when theyre in full swing. Its a great location for a private party too lots of space 3 floors of happiness!!!!
My experience was awful. My friend and I had a rude server. We sat at a table and after we were eating she threw a reserve sign down on the table. She did not let us know that the table was reserve at all. While we were at the table she had security come and tell us we had to leave the table because it was reserved. We explained to them common courtesy would be to let us know the table is reserved so you guys might have to move when the party come or not to let any one sit at the table at all. I would not come back at all. If this is the experience I would not recommend anyone coming here if you don’t want to experience this.
A must! 3 tiered rooftop club, completes any weekend at West palm beach. Bouncers are good dudes they hold it down. Vibey 👍
Ive really been wanting to try this place. Has cool decor and rooftop bar but we went there yesterday, which was a Sunday and there was a small group leaving but otherwise not busy at all. The music was playing extremely loud which would have made it difficult to talk. We went to sit at the bar. I planned to ask if the music could be turned down and order drinks but the bartender passed us more than once not even acknowledging us. Even if it was busy, you should acknowledge the customers but there were just a few people there and to be ignored I have no patience. We decided to go elsewhere and as we walked out the door, I told the guy at the door, you need to tell your bartender to acknowledge customers. He asked if we wanted to come back if he told him and I just said, no, the music is too loud. Guess we wonnt btw truing it again. Roccos Tacos much better.
This place was awesome .. brunch was great but be specific if you want it on the rooftop or inside... music was great! Food was good as long as you stick to the brunch option no modification... unlimited mimosas are dangerously good .. drink water don’t get drunk! Vibe is great!
Beware of price gauging!! Went here for a night out, my brother had a drink from one bartender and was charged $14 something, he goes back a while later for the exact same drink with a diff bartender and gets charged $28 smthg. When he refused the drink the manager got involved, he questions the bartender which of course she denied pouring a double that night, and then escorts my brother out but NOT before the MGR throwing the receipt at him. HOW do drink prices double in a night AND it was house vodka that was used!! UNBELIEVABLE. Keep and check your receipts ppl, they are SCAMMING you out of money to increase their tips and sales bc they think you’re tipsy and won’t notice.
Love going to Banko! From the staff to the management to the owners, you can always count on exceptional service and of course amazing food! And their top shelf margarita is definitely my favorite! Great atmosphere for a fun evening!
Clearly a lack of mgmt here.Waited several minutes at the door, after at least 3 wait staff saw us there. Were sat at a wobbly table and instead of fixing it with a wedge, moved us to another. Sat another group at the same table, they then moved as well. Received meal seconds after getting apps, got brown water they call iced tea. Food was average at best, guac below par. Got the bill, when the server brought my card back saw shed added $1.30 to the bill, no explanation.Too bad - theyve clearly spent a lot on decor but completely miss on the food and service. Wait staff were pleasant enough but appeared a bit rudderless. Wont go back.
Good place for brunch on sundays. (make sure you make reservations) The food is good not great so keel that in mind if your looking for great cuisine. The environment is what makes this place real good. Live DJ on sunday brunch and crazy club on weekends. The bouncers can get a little hot headed, (heads up)
This review is strictly for the downstairs area service and manager.Rooftop was amazing and fun.Im in town visiting (6/29/21) and was brought to this establishment. The interior is huge and on the top there is a bar and dj. We decided to go back downstairs for food due to there being no clean tables upstairs. We were sat with Andrea around 1015pm. I know because we did an escape room that ended at 945 and headed over. Some friends went down first while some of us went to wash our hands. Sat down and no waitress. When she returned she had nothing with her even though two people had asked her for water and sugar. We asked this waitress for sugar TEN times. When she approached the table, she did not ask if we wanted appetizers. Instead, she dropped the water off and attempted to go to another table. We called her back immediately and she seemed very annoyed. There were three tables- a couple, two guys, and us. They were not busy at all and the two guys were leaving. Eventually we ordered appetizers (after waiting more) and then she walks over to the door and starts flirting with a security guard. LITERALLY! She and the guy were hugging and talking and giving one another all type of body language. We called her back for the sugar (this was the 10th time). We only saw her (when we arrived after washing hands) three times). In that span, each of us (6 of us total) asked for sugar (two of us twice). When she brought the food out she disappeared. She never returned until the end. My sister in law ordered lobster- didnt know they were out of lobster until they arrived with the food. Never heard from her. We had to FIND her to pay for our meal. By this time we were all pretty annoyed. We asked for the manager (once we paid) and he comes up, acts bothered too, and says, Why didnt you all call for me earlier?... essentially victim blaming. The best part was when we were explaining what happened and the waitress starts to go off. As a waitress myself, I allow my manager to handle the situation and then I follow up, apologize, and the customers leave. There was no apology. The manager halfed apologized and offered a drink but we wanted to leave and go to another bar.So we left. We came back though because the roof wasnt the problem, neither was the establishment, it was the server and the manager. Upon entering, the security (who was (we assumed the boyfriend)) says, Whats the point? Why come back to a place you were going off about? Excuse me? He was also rude. All three should be reprimanded but seeing how service was, this place has very little pride so I dont expect much.We allowed her to keep her tip (they force gratuity) and we arent mean people. Karma will follow, Im sure. We were never asked did we wish to split our bill. It was a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Service and food definitely zero stars for me. The one star is for the rooftop experience. All in all. I will come back for the rooftop but not the food or service downstairs. I should also mention that no manager walked around. No one checked on us (as stated above).
Banko Cantina is one of our favorite spots! The food is great, ambiance is fun, vibes are fantastic! Always fun for a date night or girls night out. The margaritas are the best in Palm Beach!
Absolutely horrible experience. I am not one to review or speak with managers but this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. I made reservations for my mother’s birthday and this was such an embarrassment. I was better off going to Ruth’s Chris but was afraid of the children in our family being disruptive. I ordered a “premium” margarita…FYI don’t waste your time or money. The glass was missing the salt or sugar around the rim and tasted more like lemonade than a margarita. Waitress never even asked if it was OK or if all was well. The gentleman that brought the food didn’t know which taco was what nor could explain what each one was. My nephew ordered a sirloin taco and a skirt steak taco, my son ordered a skirt steak taco, both skirt steak tacos came on the same dish rather than separated for each person. I ordered queso fundido and all they brought were 3 tortillas, which is not enough to share as an appetizer. The waitress never asked if everything was OK and had to ask for additional tortillas for those who were going to share. I finished my drink before my meal and was never asked if I wanted another drink or something else. I pretty much had to settle for water the rest of the meal. Fast forward to the end (not going to mention the issues that occurred with the others). Online I had written that this was for a birthday celebration, prior to arriving I called and mentioned the same thing, and it was mentioned again to the waitress and no Birthday desert was brought nor offered. My sisters and I had to scramble last minute and find a Publix to buy her a cake to at least sing with her and her grandchildren. An automatic 20% tip was included and the service was far from deserving a 20% tip. It was almost as if the waitress knew she was going to get this tip no matter what and didn’t have to provide simple courtesy and attentiveness. Let me add that when I called prior to going the way the person answered the phone was pretty much like if I was calling a friend, “Hello this is so and so.” No good evening, name of location I was calling, how can I help you….” WOW. If you’re looking at this review and deciding to go take my advice, we should’ve listened to the couple that was sitting outside when we got there and said, “the food is horrible.”
Just go somewhere else. Im very disappointed with my experience here. I have had a good time here previously with the food and dancing. However, I ordered food to go on one instance and when I got home whoever packaged my churros put the ice-cream directly on top and it melted all over them and made them soggy. I called and called couldnt get through. I call again on Sunday a woman takes my name and number saying they wont be able to get to it tonight, but theyll call me. They dont. I call again they said the manager wont be here until 6pm. Again no call back. At this point its been a few days. Yesterday (now two weeks) I go back and mention the situation and no one cares or seems to want to address it. I spent a lot of money at banko in the past, but for the lack of hospitality and care for quality of food they send out I will no longer be a customer here.
Bankos is very racist! I went there for my boyfriends birthday, we paid for a VIP SECTION and all. They refused to play black music. The DJ and the securities told me they will get in trouble if they play black music. It was hispanic music for the whole entire time. No equality!
2 star is for the food taste being slightly better than taco bell. Nothing had any flavor aka didnt add any spices. Every employee including the person who was suppose to be in charge were too busy giggling as if they were all 6th graders at recess. The young lady to rang up our order was more interested in having a conversation than to show us any kindness, lacked in personality. I ask if the margarita had alcohol or was it a virgin, she again not listening properly, began to pour me a drink. I stopped her midway. There had to be 10 employees in the front counter playing around vs clean or interacting with customers. 1st & last time.
Completely raw burger and the waitress even agreed yet charged us for it. Will never eat here again. Middle of burger was red and freezing cold and waited over 30 minutes for food, absolutely disgusting. Extremely upset with this place
Ordered 3 tacos with rice and beans. Rice and beans came out cold, and didn’t have any flavor. Carne asada tacos were also flavorless, you’d think at a minimum they’d salt the meat before cooking it. The tortillas are very thick and felt more like thin flat bread. I’ve never had tortillas like that in my life. The bartender was nice and had the manager take off the beans and rice from my bill, but it took about 15 minutes before I got my check after asking for it even though they weren’t busy. They also charge a “rounding fee” of $ .39 because I paid with a credit card, I guess most places factor that into the food cost?
Was here for wife Birthday celebration, paid for the Taco bar, asked that any additional services will be on our guests. They put everything on my bill. Was very disappointed paid more then I wanted. Great atmosphere....still paid more then I was suppose to. AND I didnt even eat anything. Boy I must love my wife.
For the food, I would give 5*++ stars. Our temperatures were checked and tableswell- spaced. As for the cocktails, I would have given one or two stars. Blaa in appearances. Never been served a Bloody Mary before with no garnish. My friend’s Sangria was the same- blaa. The chef is amazing, I was in heaven with the meal itself!
Danced the night away with my friends. Great DJ and atmosphere. Security guards were friendly and did a great job. Drinks were good. Not sure about the prices as I didnt pay for any. I felt safe inside. I dont remember seeing a menu. Only seating was at the bar or VIP which was a bummer.
Beautiful decor, great drinks and prices had a great time on the second floor. I did loose my bank card and they did lock it up for me which I appreciated. On the other hand I also had a few items with me that there cleaning staff thought was garbage or kept. They are difficult to reach left them a message by social media and by leaving a message with an employee and they just never called back I just had to keep calling it took 4 days to reach some one.
Out of all the places we have been around WPB, Maiyra made the best Martinis. Most places around here are 20 for a drink...with no booze. Come see Maiyra. She is so nice and knows her way around a shaker !!
Came for the last night of my bachelorette party: Very poor service, dull food, slow waitresses/services, wrong drinks, and inaccurate checks. When addressed with manager nothing was corrected nor addressed. Might be an okay club for late night but not a restaurant worth going to in Palm Beach when there are many other excellent options.
Had amazing food and an amazing experience. BUT I was charged more on my credit card than what I signed for!! Ive reached out to this place three seperate times and STILL no luck. The managers keep telling me they only have one person in admin. That handles transactions. So they take all of my info and say they will contact me, but never do! Do NOT pay with your card. They will scam you!! Im writing a review hoping the owner will see this. PLEASE FIX THIS! You stole money from me
This was one of the worst experiences ever I was trying to have a girls brunch but every time the waitress brought our wrong. Then when it was time to pay they added extra things that we never ordered. When we tried to talk to a someone about it Louis (he said he was the manager) did not help the situation but made it seem like we were in the wrong. I understand it’s busy but I’m also a paying customer and would have like to be treated as such. All 6 of us decided to never go back again
Haven’t even got there yet but called to confirm reservation for tonight. I had requested rooftop in my online reservation and also called a day before and confirmed a 6:00 reservation for rooftop. Called to confirm again evening of reservation and now told rooftop doesn’t open until 7:00. Not good. Do you think it would be so difficult for the people that answer the phone to get their facts straight and be informed for customers? It’s not rocket science. We are talking minimal effort here.
3 floor to dance, different type of music, good price on beer, just need to pay attention to security they will treat you with no respect. Its totally recommended.
Went there for brunch with my wife our 1st time being there. They had A DJ playing which was cool in itself but the music was playing so loud we had to scream at each other to communicate. We both ordered bottomless mimosas I got the breakfast burrito add Carne asada My wife got the taco platter. All the food and sides came out Luke warm to cold I talked to the server and she talked to the expo of whom came and grabbed my entree and sides and my wifes entree but left the sides and then sent the food back out both of our food came back out Luke warm again ( but slightly warmer than before) and my sides came out cold and my wife didnt even get her new sides. This all compounded by the fact that maybe 10% of all the staff was wearing a mask correctly if at all
$220 bucks for two pitchers of margaritas with barley any liquor in them our group of four walked out sober. The second pitcher we all left our glasses full on table (All sour mix) Food was lousy as well. We all said either this place should have great margaritas or great food THIS PLACE HAS NEITHER. Was going to say something when we were there but just decided we will not be going back.
The roof top is great, music and atmosphere too. However, every single time I’ve been there, the security guys are extremely violent. I have witnessed these called “security staff” hitting men and WOMEN, kicking them on the floor, punching them until they bleed and that’s something that should NEVER happen. It doesn’t matter how drunk a person is, security staff should provide help and assistance. It’s a shame how the management doesn’t take care of this because it happens all the time.
I would give this place a CIRCLE if I could NOT A STAR. First off they are all unprofessional as hell. We made reservations on the roof top for a WORK brunch. When the reservation was made they never implicated that everyone has to be over 21. So we get there & they dont let one of our co workers in. We even asked if she did not drink can she still enter the security at door stated that they are under investigation so no minors allowed. We than proceed inside & there is a toddler sitting right there. DOUBLE STANDARD. The waitress with bright red hair with TATTOOS IS RUDE AS HELL & HAS NO COMMUNICATION SKILLS WHATS SO EVER. We tell her we are leaving can we pay for the mimosas cause our co worker cant get it she says this is a CLUB. I said okay well theres a toddler up here can we go downstairs she says no. We get the manager he than says we can in fact go downstairs so our friend can come in. He promises that we will have a table & everything set up we get there nothing is done. We sit for another 30 mins before someone actually assist us. At this point we are all ready to go & annoyed. This was my first time here so it sucks because i actually heard good things about this place. DONT GO ON SUNDAY
This place is held to a high standard for nightlife events, and I highly recommend. Three floors of weekend nightlife vibes to choose from. I love a place that has multiple areas for you to enjoy and hop between. Their December holiday events are well worth the visit.
This place seemed relatively nice, but the management was atrocious. I was kicked out of the club with a women I offered to buy drinks for. When I asked why I was being kicked out I was told the women had a declined card and I was then verbally accosted by the manager himself, after which I was escorted out of the club by 4 burly men. Mind you Im a 54 150 white boy who was not resisting. I was then brought to 4 police officers outside who turned out to be childhood neighbors of mine and who then apologized for what the club was doing but because it was a private establishment there was nothing I could do. Moral of the story is Im never bringing my business there again.
The bouncer would not let me in with my real ID because he said it’s a fake one. Then the manager told me I have to pay 100$ to get in.That’s really crazy….
Staff was efficient, but zero personality. Food was subpar. They claim to have great tacos, but there is no flavor. Everything is ala carte, so a simple taco dinner ends up being expensive. Plus, for some reason my husband received 5 tacos on his plate and I only got 4?! We ordered margaritas - couldnt taste any tequila and they were not rimmed as the menu described - had to point it out to the waiter and have them remade. This was our first time here and their website really pushed making a reservation, so I did via OpenTable. Even though we arrived on time and I said we had a reservation (which was not needed as the place was empty except for a couple patrons at the bar), they canceled my OpenTable reservation without reason so I wont be getting my reward points via the app. And to top it all off, they charged us an additional $2.48 service fee on our bill for paying by credit card!! It didnt state what it was, just a fee so I asked our waiter and he said it has to do with their new system. You can tell me what you want, but I know that means the owner is having patrons pay their service fee to the credit card company. Will not return!!
My husband and I went there for brunch and sat on the rooftop.. The service was the worst and so was the food . Had to get up to find someone to take our order and arrives cold and with no sides or utensils . When asked for utensils.. we were told that they had no silverware and go a flimsy plastic fork and no knife to cut out fires to eat .. . When we headed down to the main floor and saw all the silverware on the tables.. it made happy not to leave a tip .. no napkins other than cocktail .asked for salsa for the tacos and never came .. soda was flat. If I could give zero stars that is what I would .. this is the first time ever I left without giving any tip for the lousy service and not feeling bad about it.. and forget the clean environment or following and cdc guidelines. NEVER WILL STEP FOOT IN THERE IF. IT IS THE LAST PLACE TO EAT... Would rather starve
Well, a tad disapointed!!! This is a nice place to come on Tuesdays for Motown. However, today has been frustrating. The waitress was horrible and a tad rude, not pleasant at all. The sad thing is that it wasnt really busy like it would be on a Saturday. So, I wish it was a better experienceBut it wasnt 😏I must add that my husbands taco order was overlooked. Really? why must i wait 15 min for a refill. 🙄
This review is more for the club than the restaurant. I witnessed a brutal beating from the bouncers on two very thin young man this past Saturday. The young man were covering their heads the whole time. This was very disturbing and I will definitely not return to this place. I think management needs to be very careful who they hire for this type of job. Its not cut out for everyone.
Good food, 3 stories of different venues. First is a regular restaurant. Second floor is a club style with bar and dj. Third floor is a rooftop bar with dj and got music. Every floor has good music. Second floor is the only one with bathrooms though it seems like. Nice young crowd. Fun atmosphere for Friday night.
Banko Cantina is an excellent restaurant. Food was amazing and the environment was very cool. The waiters were very friendly and nice. Overall, an awesome experience!! I recommend to all.
The service in the first floor sucked. I sat my self I had to ask for utensil, plates the entire food came out wrong. No one asked to see how we were doing the margaritas were seating at the bar for a while the place was empty on the first floor.
Joe!!! On the third floor, Mezzanine. Is the best!!Hands down. This is our second time here and he is amazing! He’s great for bottle service and will only keep coming if him and his associate keeps the hospitality while here.Just moved here from VA and it took us a while to find a place called home when we want to party!! #Joe is the best!!
So many bad things. Went for Cinco de Mayo lunch. Got there long before crowds. Had a reservation for 6 but stood waiting for 10 minutes while the staff tried looking for the lost reservation list (we could have literally sat anywhere since it was empty). While waiting around we stood at the bar to order drinks and 3 separate employees behind the bar ignored us and continued setting up for the day. So...no drinks. They took forever to bring drink orders, even forgot one. Had to ask 3 times for waters. Food was ok but not that great. Id go to Roccos.
I do like this place. DJ BEATNOX and DJ BELLY are awesome but the security are very rude and nasty towards people also very disrespectful so because of that I think I will stop going to this place. The bartenders are also awesome especially maiyra.
Good music overall, nicely themed on each floor, no safety precautions in place for COVID like not even sanitizer although rooftop probably not needed; and food was subpar; we had a party of about 14 and the food was bland for at least half of us.
Tried tacos and flautas. Both were very good. Drinks can get pricey, but are also very good. Not great for social distancing, though. Servers had masks below their noses and the 3rd floor was packed with customers, none wearing masks.
I dont mean to be rude but 3rd floor Dj needs some training, music is all over the place and kills the mood, stick to the 1st or 2nd floor when you go 👍
We went to Banko Cantina on a Friday night date night. It was only the second night the restaurant was opened and we had no issues. We decided to explore all three of its floors.First Floor: We ate dinner on the first floor and all the food was delicious. We started with the Mango Salsa and Tortilla chips. It was very good and had a bit of spice. I had their Paella which was a good enough portion for me to eat and have leftovers to take home. My boyfriend had steak fajitas. We both had margaritas with our meal. We had their raspberry, mango and their blood orange margarita. All three were very good.Second Floor: We actually went to the rooftop next after dinner but Ill keep it in order. The second floor is where the restrooms are located so if youre on the rooftop or the first level youll have to take the stairs up or down to get to the restroom. This level has a lounge vibe with dimmed lights, a bar, plush couches and a DJ platform. We sat at the bar and had a few more margaritas and cocktails. The atmosphere was chill and the music wasnt too loud where youd have to yell at your date.Rooftop: When we got to the rooftop the wait staff and bartenders were just getting there but they were still very nice and offered us water while we waited for the bar to be open. Our waitress seemed to have a good bit of knowledge about the drink menu and how the drinks were made which made her helpful when helping us decide on drinks. Though the view is mostly tops of buildings we did get a nice sunset view with our drinks.Overall the staff, food and atmosphere were all great and well be going back again soon
For my first time ever going to Banko Cantina it was the worst, the food was bad the bartender was not pleasant. I got so sick from the food, it had me up all night throwing up. The only thing that was good was the music and the decorations
Came in Thursday night and the Hostess Chelsea great young lady with excellent service and very helpful and I tipped her for being helpful at the door and excellent with her smile and greeting me and wife at the door very well with manors and people skills.
I was expecting the roof top to have a better view but the ambiance is nice, food, drinks and service was nice. Latin music on point !
They have top floor bar which is nice, I only gave a 3 because we werent there long. And they had just opened and there wasnt anything going on. But I would return again Im sure its a fun spot
Amazing vibe!!! the bartenders could be better but always got the best music and it suits everyone since it has 3 floors with 3 different genres of music to choose from. Saturdays are the best nights!!
Extremely unprofessional management!! The manager himself has no customer service experience.. the blonde waitress was not only high on something, she refused to split our bill for a party of 10 when we set the expectation from the beginning on who is what.. she kept speaking of what was easier for her. After waiting for over an hour for our bill to be correctly split, waitress decided to charge everything to one person in our party without anyones consent. Shame on this place!! Dont go here!!
I made a reservation one week in advance for brunch for 17 people to have them call me the day before and cancel because they overbooked. This was unacceptable and completely ruined our plans to celebrate before my boyfriend left for the Navy. Won’t be going back there and I was a loyal customer before this happened. Unprofessional and disorganized restaurant.
Tacos were delicious but waitress was slow. Charged us $5.00 for FIGI water and got a $0.35 one. Website says Taco Tuesday $2.00 no such deal on Tuesday. Also once you give them your card to pay they charge you a surcharge.
Amazing chill spot!!! Love Motown Tue!!! Excellent Patron Margaritas only $5 n its NOT 2 play w if u r a lite drinker. Try it!! Its all u may need 2 get there. Great service n entertainment in heart of downtown WPB. TAKE TROLLEY TO MAIN LIBRARY STOP. GO TO OLIVE & CLEMATIS.
Such a disgusting place!!! Went to the roof drop for some drinks saw a man choked and dragged by the body guards for no reason, I watched the whole thing. My husband and I were so disgusted by it and the body guard saw it in our faces and told my husband what are you looking at you want to be next. DISGUSTING will NEVER return!
Went just for drinks, was told at the entrance to go to the bar or head to the 3rd floor (roof), we went for the roof, sat there for ~10 min. No service. Decided to go back to the ground floor, where we got a table. The margaritas made it all better. Still 3 stars due to no service on the roof.
We like the atmosphere here We can get a little loud but the food and the drinks are pretty good The service is always prompt and makes for a nice pit stop while out and about in West Palm for a quick drink or a bite to eat. If you go late night its for sure a younger crowd and can get a little rowdy.
We had terrible service at Banko Cantina. We had empty drinks through dinner, asked for extra sauce and never got it, and waited about 25 minutes after our plates were cleared for our check. Two people at our table were so annoyed with the service they had to get up themselves and go to the bar to ask for what they needed (silverware and water) The food that came out was just as horrific. Tacos were bland, shrimp skewers dry and steak tough overdone and chewy. The icing on the cake is that the menu is overpriced. I do not suggest this place to anyone!
