Aesthetically this restaurant is spot on. It is decorative, fashionable, and detailed pleasing to the eye. Prepare to spend all your money here; the portions are small but pricey. Everything was great except they were filming a reality show during our visit so this came with restrictions and delays. I would come back here but I won’t rush. This is a great spot for a romantic evening or a fun classy night with friends. Either way you will enjoy it.
I really enjoyed dinner at the Mediterranean inspired restaurant. It’s really a superb dining experience… And you are met with grandeurs decor and vibes from the entrance. The service was great throughout my meal. I appreciate recommendations from servers, especially when there seem to be so many great options on the menu. The cocktails were also really impressive. Both the Mayflower Spritz and Zebbie’s Treasure could easily bring me back on another day.I’m giving four stars, because I felt the portion sizes could have been bigger. But that could just have been because of what I ordered. I saw other mammoth sized plates with lobster, lamb and all sorts of other delectables being served.
I went for my birthday dinner. I was so excited after seeing all the tiktok videos and I was honestly disappointed because i think my expectations were too high. The food was just okay. I did enjoy the lamb chops but i didnt like the potatoes they paired then with also the portions were on the smaller side especially for the prices. The venue was on the small side and I did not expect to seat on the small high chairs I found them to be uncomfortable.
Reflecting on 1223 brings me back to the twilight of my clubbing days in my twenties. It was a place that once held a mystique—a beacon of nightlife where the best of the best gathered. In those early years of clubbing, 1223 seemed like a distant pinnacle of sophistication and exclusivity.Yet, as time passed, I found myself stepping through its doors one evening, realizing that I had arrived at the tail end of my clubbing journey in DC. The music still throbbed, the lights still dazzled, but the energy felt different—less about excitement and more about nostalgia. It was a moment of realization that my priorities and interests had shifted, signaling the end of an era. After bidding farewell to 1223, I embarked on a journey that took me across the globe. I saw new places, experienced different cultures, and grew in ways I never imagined during those clubbing nights. But no matter where life took me, whenever I passed by the place where 1223 once stood—now replaced by another club—it will always be 1223 in my memories. The closure of 1223 left a void in DCs nightlife, but its legacy lives on in the stories we share and the memories of nights spent dancing and connecting with friends. It was more than just a club; it was a symbol of a youthful spirit and a chapter in my life that shaped who I am today. As I reminisce about 1223, Im grateful for the experiences and friendships forged within its walls. Though the club itself is gone, its imprint on my journey remains vivid and cherished.
We have tried the restaurant during DC restaurant week.We had an early reservation @ 6:00pm practically the first people in.The services started great. The same as the beautiful food presentation. However the food itself was NICE (done get me wrong, it was nice but nothing to die for)But I want to give a lot of credit for the presentation of the food and drinks! Perfect for a date night or hanging out with the friends. Do not expect the get blown away with the food taste (at least with the restaurant week menu) but definitely will go back to try the full menu.I also wish we were told there were other cocktail options than the three on the restaurant week menu.
I went to Mayflower Club with two friends for restaurant week this year. The menu was a $55 fixed price three course meal, and for that price, the food was delicious.Drinks were quite pricey, and just from looking at the a la carte menu—I don’t know if I would recommend Mayflower Club at the usual prices. It seems like they upcharge for the experience and ambiance a little bit, like a fancy steakhouse. I think you can get food that is just as good for lower prices at other nearby restaurants. The service was pretty good but not great—a long wait for drinks. Separately, be aware that they will charge you a $15/person cancellation fee for your reservation if your entire party is not there on time. That said, everything we ate was delicious.
Saw this resturant in TikTok and I had to try it for myself while I was in the city for a couple of days. I loved the vibe of this place! Such an aesthetic. I ordered the Mayflower Spritz which was very good! I ordered truffle fries because i order them everywhere I go, and they were delicious. As an entree I got the salmon and my friend ordered the lamb. The lemon sauce that goes with the salmon was delicious! And the Brussel sprouts paired well. My friend enjoyed her lamb!Back in the day this place was the Dirty Martini and I really love the new changes! Also check out my review on TikTok @amazinggav
Breath taking establishment from start to finish. Chique modern decor, beautifully crafted cocktails, and exquisite Mediterranean cuisine. Will definitely be back to try more items from the menu. The carréd away cocktail is their take on the classic vieux carrée was carefully crafted and well balanced. The lamb chorizo appetizers or merguez as I would call it left me salivating for more.I had the little neck clam pasta, witch was phenomenal. It had just enough spice to give it kick without overpowering the clam taste. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
I personally had a really great time here! We did come at a time where it was not extremely busy. We tried all of their specialty cocktails which were all delicious and had just the right amount of alcohol to get you where you need to be. The service was wonderful as our server was very nice and attentive. She answered all of our questions including those about the restaurant in general. We ate downstairs and got to go upstairs to view the rest of the restaurant which is beautiful. They were quick to clean our tables and ask if we needed anything. We did not try a lot of food. Our appetizer (mussels) were very good and a nice portion size. The peri peri chicken was too small in my opinion to be a shared plate. Our dessert was delicious and paired well with the final cocktail. We saw other food come out as they are definitely a show stoppy type of place. Other dishes looked delicious and like they were a good portion size. Would love to go back and try more food.
The restaurant and its ambiance were beautiful! The pink/purple lighting and decor was very visually appealing. The menu options are unique but a bit limited. My charred branzino was missing the char and my drink was not blended well. My server had a limited English vocabulary so that led to a language barrier and ultimately a disconnect in the service delivered....😔
The décor and ambiance at this restaurant is very nice. It’s a great date night spot! It’s also a club. We came on a Saturday evening for dinner. We had a reservation and was seated very quickly. I ordered the Cherry Blossom Margarita, it was delicious. We decided to get the Halloumi Fries appetizer. It was okay. I’m not a huge fan of the Halloumi cheese and did not like the taste and texture much. For our main entrée, we ordered the Mixed Grill for 2. This dish was amazing and extremely filling. We could not finish it all. I highly recommend it! The meat was super tender and tasty and the prawns were nicely grilled. They do give you a lot of fries. The service we received was very good. We were extremely pleased.
My friends birthday dinner was yesterday and the party could not be seated because 1 person was late. Notice was not given until the window was up. Lady at the front was not helpful or understood how to help, because they could have ate at the bar. Terrible! Not saying I couldn’t have been on time but how does 1 person stop an entire party from eating.
Very nice crowd nice setup and very good drinks. Dancing to a mix of good music. You will love this upscale club
Visited on a Thursday night and I was so impressed by the food.We started off with the shrimp feta and Italian meatballs. The meatballs were so delicious and packed with lots of flavor. The shrimp feta was spicy but the shrimp tasted very fishy. We also had the lamb chops which were juicy and delicious. I wasn’t a fan of the tzatziki sauce but it was doable. The lamb chops presentation was also beautiful. We tried at the Wagyu steak which came out with gold flakes on it. The steak was also very delicious and cooked how we asked.Cocktails: Mayflower Spritz 4/5. It’s on the sweeter end but it was good and very fillingTidal Basin Manhattan was a 5/5. On the stronger end with a hint of sweetness from the orange.Cherry Blossom Margarita: 5/5. We both thought it was a little strong or maybe it was because we were already on our 3rd drink.
Actually not too bad! Great staff and good music. We went for the pub crawl on October 30th. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because they took advantage of us and kicked everyone out at 9:20. They were supposed to be open till 10pm with the pub crawl prices. To be honest I just moved here from Seattle and thought it was kinda lame over there but this was so dumb. Just change the prices once it’s 10pm. No need to lock everyone out then reopen. Anyway fun spot! Nice decorations.
#1 Most Beautiful Restaurants in DC, imo. The atmosphere 11/10, food 11/10, staff 11/10. This place does fine dining like no other restaurant Ive been to, The Ivy in LA is the only place that comes even close. Everything on the menu looks delicious....and even the ginger ale tastes better.Try the Fried Haloumi if youre a cheese lover like me. A friend introduced me to them and they are my absolute favorite. Honey Brussel Sprouts, too ❤️❤️❤️ (Im not a Brussel Sprouts fan, but loved theirs 😋)Great wine/alcohol selection. Turns into a nightclub after hours...place is just epic in every way. They have a Sunday Brunch which includes food and dancing. Was there today had the Prime Rib w/ Horseradish (another fav of mine), potatoes, and more brussel sprouts 🤤 I tried a little of everything they served, all of it was absolutely delicious... think one was a Nutella Bomb, I ❤️ Nutella...and then reggae afterwards...Amazing vibes all around that makes for a perfect Sunday.Photos/Reels to come, next time I go Ill put some up hopefully
A phenomenal dining experience for special occasion mines was a business promotion celebration. The atmosphere and light fixtures was very elegant, furniture decor was very impressive, clean atmosphere and they also open the dance floor during the night... great way to dance off the food youve eaten, also multiple flavored cocktails for the drinkers. Gratuity is automatically included within your bill which I didnt have no problem and doubled what they already deducted because it was well worth my first experience here.
Two stars overall for the ambiance and some of the food (salmon entree and flatbread appetizer were delicious; lobster bisque was overly salty and lukewarm). Now for the service. A group of us were celebrating a birthday and our server was Sabrina. She started off pleasant then became very familiar/borderline intrusive throughout dinner. In the midst of our conversations she would randomly show up and slide into our space. Once, we asked her to move because she was standing in the way of someone giving a toast. When she did it again we asked sit down so that we could continue our conversation. Yet when we needed things like utensils we had to flag her down. I chalk this up to her not being able to read the vibe of the table rather than inexperience. But the kicker was throughout the entire dinner she kept trying to force drinks on us even when some of us told her we did not drink. Several times she encouraged us to take shots which we declined. Then at the end of the meal, she declared that we had to take shots to mark the occasion. She then brought out several shots which we all thought were complimentary because we never asked for them. I was shocked to find out later that she charged us over $100 for these shots. Very deceptive practice and had I known she’d done this I would have told her to remove the charge.
I wish I could give this place more stars. Amazing, amazing AMAZING restaurant!! And what a beautiful venue! Ive been here 3 times already, and everytime I go, I find one more thing I add on to my MUST HAVES. The last time was their Greek salad. It was just wow. All the ingredients were super fresh, and had so much flavor. Id have to say it was the best Greek salad Ive ever had. I was not expecting this from a salad. My other go tos are the Keftedes (Greek Meatballs), and the Halloumi Fries. Ive had all their cheese and salumis (yes, all, I have a good appetite), all very fresh and authentic. Their Branzino, perfectly cooked and flavored, Lamb Chops leave your mouth watering for more, and their burger. . . I cant enjoy a burger without ketchup, but this one needed none. It was perfect just the way it is. So many other things to try! Its been a long time since Ive been this excited about a restaurant. I live all the way in Annapolis, this is one of the only restaurants I will drive to DC for for their food, service, and beautiful atmosphere. If you want a drink that will WOW you, please do yourself a favor and get the Triple S. I dont know what their mixologist does, but please, keep it up! Thank you, Mayflower, for making dining in DC exciting again. I already have reservations to come back. You are everything Ive ever wanted a restaurant to be. ❤❤❤ And then dancing upstairs afterwards?? You are a one stop shop! Looking forward to coming again 😄
My table constantly rocked. That is unexpected for a restaurant of this caliber. The hostess was very dismissive to my request. I asked to be able to sit next to my friend who also had a reservation. We were told the restaurant was booked. We sat for an hour and a half and no one sat next to us. We could have sat next to each other.
My bf took me here for my birthday for the Sunday Brunch. It was amazing! The wait was super short, the staff was friendly. Atmosphere was such a vibe. The DJ was on point, and the brunch buffet was so good. They made sure the food was filled always and good temp. All in all a wonderful experience!
Besides the disappointing Ramen, everything else was fantastic! Good appetizers, the restaurant was beautifully decorated for the Cherry Blossom Festival, and the drinks were fantastic!
The food is great and the service physically there at the restaurant is great but communication before getting there is bad. They dont pick up their phones, and if you text them, theres no sense of professionalism in the response back. The hostess was respectful and sweet, and the waiters were great.
Fun, fun, fun! Went here for a private event for the first time and the venue is gorgeous. It has beautiful lighting and the rooftop is a sight to behold. Love the swing! Everything was delicious from the steak sliders to hummus.
Went to Mayflower on Saturday for my birthday! My wife and I had a great time. Omar served us and he performed an extraordinary service. He is very attentive and made sure we were okay at all times. Walked us through the food and drink menu very detailed. The food and the drinks are great.
The vibes for this place were amazing. We had a large party for a birthday celebration and the waiters were very attentive they even joked around with us. The food was served family style but everyone enjoyed the options and the drinks were great. The only reason we cannot give this place 5 stars is because they lacked diversity in the music that was played in the club portion but everything else was great. Service, great food and the decor. There are plenty of photo ops for content creators
We ate here for brunch on Sunday. The atmosphere was nice and the food was good, but the service was very slow. While eating we also saw a huge rat run across the dining area. We told the waitress, and she said “yea, that happens”. We will not be eating here again.
I made reservations over a month ago for brunch for my birthday celebration and they canceled my reservations 2 days prior with no explanation. If you have a big event I would not depend on them.@owner you informed me on Thursday afternoon that my reservations was canceled with no explanation or compensation my event was on Sunday giving me one day to find a place to accommodate a large party.
The bartender here named Tamer was extremely rude to me because I’m a Middle Eastern woman who was out having drinks with 2 white friends. I don’t usually leave Google reviews but this needs to be called out. My white friends both noticed the bartender (who explained on his own that he was Afghani and his name was Tamer) was specifically rude to me. After being there for about 30 minutes on a calm Wednesday night, I asked if they had an iPhone charger and he exclaimed I DONT have one! Youve asked me FOUR TIMES and I dont have one! and then proceeded to gesture towards everything behind the bar. I was not the least bit drunk and had asked him only once. This guy was clearly is uncomfortable with seeing a Middle Eastern woman out and about. Grow up, and I hope you learn to treat all women with respect - no matter what race we are. Seriously will never go back here as long as this degenerate is employed here.
We had a reservation for 5:30, didn’t realize that was the time they opened. We waited out front for 15 minutes, then walked inside and made eye contact with several employees behind the bar. A guy walked by us standing there to go outside and stand by the velvet rope thing and didn’t say a word to us—we said “hi sir…” but before we could even finish he was out the door and completely ignored us.By 5:50 we gave up and left. We had to walk right by the same guy who ignored us inside and he didn’t say a word. Horrible experience.
Went there for New Years Eve with a group of friends for a “black tie, premium experience” that included lounges and bottle service. We get there and people are sitting in our reserved tables, where we paid $150 per person to reserve. They had to clear them out. The lounge tables were advertised as 10 person per table. It was little two small tables put together with a couple chairs and loungers. You could seat maybe 5. Honestly this place might be fine during the year but don’t go for New Year’s Eve- it will be a waste of money.
We ordered the four course tasting menu. Although the service was good, the food was bland and nothing to write home about. I personally would not recommend this to a friend.
I had the lamb pappardelle and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I was alone, so sat st the bar and was entertained by Toby, the bartender. Although he was very busy, he made sure that I had everything that I wanted. It was a great experience and looking forward to going back my next time in DC!
This is a beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is made to celebrate and take plenty of pictures. I would just suggest that management checks and cleans the bathrooms more often. Additionally I dont recall being offered any dessert at the end of the night. The waiter was able to keep the drinks flowing, always asking for another round. And if you are an oyster eater - definitely get a dozen here. The taste was great and the presentation was also great.
Tried to charge me $70 for brunch...nobody on staff could tell me what was for brunch other than eggs and bacon...BOUNCERS at the door insisted they had to pat me down...turned around and left
Amazing! Highly recommend!Food: 5/5Service: 5/5Atmosphere: 5/5The food options, quality, and presentation were amazing. We got the shrimp cocktail, cheese and meat board, prime rib, and black truffle tagliatelle pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly. The desserts - Nutella bombs and deconstructed tiramisu - were okay. The service was great, and the atmosphere was magical. Not to pull a Larry David, but my only complaint was the wobbly tables. Our table was so wobbly that things almost fell off the table every time we cut the steak. It was distracting. We saw multiple other wobbly tables in the restaurant, too.
Do you like loud pounding disco music? Then this is the place for you. Also we had to make our reservations via their app and were charged $50 cancellation fee after walking out because of the loud pounding.
Came in last night and had bartender Leanne. She was an absolute sweetheart and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. The atmosphere and decor is super cool too. 11/10 will be back!
Recently was here for a birthday celebration. We had reservations and waited for an hour to be seated. Once seated, I must admit the ambience was amazing. When we arrived a complementary bottle of house champagne was waiting. We waited nearly 30 minutes for the waiter. We ordered appetizers and dinner. Food took so long that both came out together. Needless to say we were very upset and sent the main course back until we finished. We watched other guest get seated after us, order, eat, and leave. The house manager did the best she could and provided concessions, however COVID-19 changed the game and businesses need to realize that customers are now paying for an experience.A two hour usual restaurant experience was nearly four hours. I reached out to the management to refer them for staff training and no one followed up.With prices rising and everyone charging more, we have to be cognizant of how important customer service is and how that translates into repeat business.
Hosted my birthday experience here and everything was perfect. The food, the staff, the ambience, and the vibes. I want to personally give the Event manager, Gina a special shout out. She was so easy to work with, her communication was seamless, and she walked me through everything step by step. She also was always able to answer any questions I had regarding my event and also very patient with me and my many event changes. She’s a gem! Def recommend this restaurant for dinner, date night, girls night, birthday dinners etc! Thank you so much for making my night perfect!
We went for my friends birthday dinner. It seems to be the birthday spot... at least during Aquarius. My friend had on a birthday tiara, and at least 5 people from different parties wished her a happy merry and revealed it was their bday as well. We were very fortunate to find street parking fairly quickly with ease. The atmosphere is very aesthetically pleasing. There were cute spots for photo opportunities. The mirror in the ladies room is perfect for a selfie. The drinks were very cute and made well. Our server Hannah was pleasant, made good suggestions, and was very attentive. The food was cute and had good flavor. The meal was way more than I expected price wise. I understand why everyone there was celebrating a birthday or something. This is not a spot I would go to just for dinner, but the experience was enjoyed.
Pasta here is cooked perfect and sauce is delicious. Drinks are strong. The meat skewers were a little too salty but everything else I tried was 10/10. Fish was flavorful and steak was surprisingly better than other steakhouses I’ve tried. Would definitely come back to try everything else.
From drinks with friends, to corporate events, this place has you covered! With an inventive, seasonally changing menu from their in-house chef, Alex, there is something for everyone on their menu. Carnivores, pescatarians, and even vegans will be fulfilled! And don’t forget about their after-hours, DJ-filled, club-like atmosphere! Classy with beautiful people for the win! If my partner and I go out, we come here. Hands down best experience!
We were impressed with the atmosphere, Id recommend asking for the upstairs lounge area near the smaller bar. Its more intimate and perfect for a birthday/anniversary. Our service was top notch and I highly recommend the French Riviera, best cocktail Ive had in a long time and I try and lot. Their ambiance makes the cost seem reasonable. The lamb chops and filet were wonderful, just a little small as far as portion goes for the price. The sides were definitely basic, but the proteins were all top tier. The smoking presentation for the chops was a cool Instagram moment and we really enjoyed the the wine we ordered. Definitely will return.
I was referred by a friend to celebrate my birthday at this restaurant. It turned out to be the absolute worst experience. They sat us in a corner upstairs where it was very cold. My wife ordered the Salmon and 10 minutes later they came back and told us they were out of Salmon. I ordered the lamb which was suppose to come with mashed potatoes but it was served with the breakfast cube potatoes and they only gave me two lambs. Service was horrible all around. I would never return. They ruined my birthday.
I went to dinner with some friends last night. Before we got there I noticed that the reviews seem a bit low… I decided to give them a chance since my friends were insisting. Food is Great, and music is good. The reason for my 1 ⭐️ review is the Customer Service. From management all the way down to Waiter . 1 hour and half for my food to come in , all my friends were done eating while I was still waiting for my food. After all this the Manager all she had to say was “ Im sorry “ no follow up checking on the table after that. Drinks took forever to be served. For an expensive restaurant the Management and attention to details is terrible. I wont be recommending this place to any of my friends and we will not be visiting this place again for sure. Go somewhere else
This restraint is amazing! Beautiful ambience and amazing food. But nothing comes close to the service. Little Omar Martinez made this an outstanding experience. He helped us celebrate our anniversary and made the night memorable!
I would give this place 0 stars if possible. My girlfriends and I all went to the Mayflower for the first time and had a very disappointing experience. It started with a rude bartender and overpriced drinks. He also did not make us aware of the suggested 20% gratuity and instead added it to the bill without asking. When we were seated it took 30 min for us to get water and to see a menu. When we asked for straws the server tossed a handful of unwrapped straws in a napkin on the table. The silverware wasn’t wrapped and all of the utensils were in direct contact with the table. Our waiter was also very passive aggressive and did not want to answer our questions about the menu. Our cocktails for the table also came out extremely late and were poorly made. One of told him that the drink was too strong and his response was “it’s Friday” and walked away. Our appetizers of calamari and bread were cold and the calamari was undercooked. I noticed the manager watching our table and she decided to come over and offer “assistance”. She refried the same cold calamari and even ate off our plate saying that the food was fine. The “new” bread was burned worse than the first order and was completely inedible. By that time we had asked for our bill to pay for the apps and drinks as the entrees were just ordered. The manager became irate and yelled at our table saying we would pay for everything and had our food rushed out to the table. After a member of our party informed the manager that she’s an attorney and the management was behaving unlawfully they allowed us to leave and pay the adjusted bill. Even after paying the adjusted bill and changing the gratuity someone still went back and up-charged our entire bill. I DO NOT recommend dining here as the ambiance does not make up for the poor service, bad food, and unsanitary behavior.
The service was extremely poor. 5 hours and nothing was served in a timely manner. They charged in advance for the brunch so perhaps they didnt feel like they had to serve us with expediency because they already had our money. The food was actually good but they brought out our meals one at a time so we didnt eat our courses together...some items never came to the table at all. At the end of our meal when we were awaiting dessert, they gave only 4 of us dessert but we were a party of 6. The server asked if we wanted to wait around for the desserts (we had already been there for 5 hours) and I declined. GOOD service is 50% of why you return to a restaurant so we wont be returning ever. This was disappointing. *The following was added on May 22, 2022: The management responded to my review by offering to make things right. They gave me an email to contact them at...the email wasnt a working email. 😒
So last night was my first time and i was so excited. When i walked inside it was beautiful. Looks exactly like the pics. However, when i walked in to tell them the name on my reservations, the hispanic female hostess was rude (curly hair). They only one server for 10 plus tables. So food took felt like almost an hour to come out. Barely hot. They were out of a few things on the menu that I wanted to try. Not sure I would go back anytime soon.
Celebrated my birthday here with a large party of 14 guests. Our server, McKenna, was extremely courteous, accommodating, and was a great communicator. The food and drinks were excellent and the ambiance was incredibly sophisticated. Would definitely recommend this establishment for dining with large parties or small!
Really fun cocktails and great food. Presentation & taste is on point, and the staff has always been great. Doesn’t normally get busy until later so a great place to go after work.
It is one of the best restaurants in the city. The food was amazing. Drinks were awesome. The ambiance was beautiful. Great for date night.
Keep in mind this is a club so the music can be a little loud if you want a quiet, intimate meal. That being said, Omar took good care of us for our anniversary dinner. I originally ordered the Venus because I knew my wife would like it, but ended up drinking most of it myself (had to get 2). Very delicious if you are a tropical drink fan. For shareable items, we had the octopus, haloumi fries, and crab fritters. Octopus was tender and well seasoned. Haloumi fries were more akin to fancy mozzarella sticks (first time having them, was very pleased with the experience). Crab fritters were ok, could skip for double octopus. Food was excellent. Had a combination of lamb chops, prawns, scallops and branzino with brussels and squid ink rice.
Me and my sister went here for just a girls night. First off we were a couple minutes late to our reservation and we called to make sure we were still good to come in. The lady on the phone was getting an attitude with us. All we wanted to make sure of was that we didn’t lose our reservation. Anyways The food was definitely amazing. The drinks. Not too good and super strong. The service wasn’t that great but I see why because they don’t care since tip is already included. I asked him for butter for my asparagus. And he offered me truffle butter I said “sure”. Remind you he OFFERED… bill comes out and he charges 9$ for some truffle butter… so be aware. Make sure to be sure something isn’t an up charge before ordering because if truffle butter was 9$ I’m sure ketchup is 10. 🤣 anyways just be aware. (Service not great. And they will get ya for ya bucks.) it’s a nice scenery though. Also our waitress was rushing us out after our second drink he says to us “I’ll bring the bill out” like I thought that’s a question the guest ask but ok. This place is definitely not that great but very pretty. Manager do better at hiring people that have a positive attitude on there shift.
Ive been to many restaurants in Dc, but this was one of the worst night ever. It doesnt matter how beautiful a restaurant can be IF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. Our server was rushing us through the whole night and it wasn’t even busy, he made us feel unwelcome, he got ZERO patience at all, the food was cold as well. I wanted to live this place so much Bachar I saw it in TT.We spent over $500 I expected more! I gave 2 just for the decoration. First and LAST time going to Mayflower Club.
Terrible experience we did not stay! Our reservation was for 9 PM we arrive at 8:45, we were then told by the ladies at the front counter that we would need to wait 10 to 15 minutes no problem, 10-15 minutes turned into 25-30 minutes when we went to ask they told us to bear with them, mind you we see folks walking in and being seated I take the establishment is run by or owned by Middle Easterns as those were the ones who were going in and being seated and attend to. After 30 minutes plus, we were escorted into see noisy dining room and given a seat in the most obscure places when we asked to be moved they told us they didn’t have any more seats however there was a more inviting table behind us. A few mins after they came to seat someone there we were told by the server that he is a partner/ investor in the establishment. The place is very disorganized, customer service is terrible and we did not and will not spending our money there. They need to work on treating all patrons with respect!
Horrible door experience. Def believe there is some racism going on and I’m not even that type of person who goes for that first. Here’s the scenario: I’m visiting from GA and the juice head at the door was SO rude (it was raining and he literally said he’s being nice by letting me find my id under the umbrella) so with that time I left and went to Rose Bar next door.If you are BLACK American just know you may not be welcomed there. I will never step foot inside based on who they hire as the bouncer alone.Pure ignorance. This man probably has a highschool diploma education but uses the little power he has been given to rule the door. Cannot wait to go back home to ATL where I don’t experience this racism. I wish I took his UGLY picture but I didn’t.TRASH. PERIODT
If you like a good conversation, an excellent drink and great service, look for Tam. He has 20 years at the establishment and his drinks are perfect. I enjoyed his coffee martini, the penicillin, and the honey lemon gin drink! Food was excellent. Good portions and the fries are to die for. Two tvs, and a laid back vibe had me reminded me of pre pandemic bar days.
My wife and I were in DC for Thanksgiving and had their Thanksgiving prix fixe menu. DUCK PROSCIUTTO SALAD, BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP, PRIME RIB au jus, rosemary mashed potatoes, GRILLED SEABASS chilean seabass, carrot toffee pureeblack jasmine rice, PUMPKIN CHEESE CAKEcaramel, pecans, cinnamon, &PHYLLO APPLE PIE greek frozen yogurt, chantilly cream. All of it off the charts excellent. We both agreed our best Thanksgiving dinner, and easily one of the top five dining experiences ever. Were coming back to checkout the regular menu. They were all such friendly, lovely people. Our server was fantastic.Cant say enough good things about this place. The bartenders pay especially care to the cocktails. Going to sample those as well.Beyond five stars.
Went here for dinner with my boyfriend to celebrate our first Valentine’s Day. Drinks were “ok” lamb chops were very tough and my whole plate in general was Luke warm. Their “lemon potatoes” tasted as if they were just boiled potatoes with lemon juice, could of definitely used some seasoning. Was very disappointed, as this was our first time at this establishment.
The decor is beautiful!! And its FREE to enter!!! Great for photos as shown on their insta page (photos and videos)!! But I feel like this place is overrated..their Instagram page made it look more fun than it actually was. All they played was EDM music and if you like that cool but for some its just not the vibe. So many people were not even dancing..instead they were just standing there talking or walking back and forth. Also its a smaller club area so it was hard to dance because people were constantly getting pushed and shoved around!!! Very overcrowded!! Super uncomfortable!! Had to stop dancing every 2 minutes to let a whole line of people passed us..interesting first time here but dont think Ill be come back. Also gross bathrooms Id recommend going to the bathroom somewhere else. Dont know if its always like this but there was a whole load of vomit everywhere.
My wife and I absolutely loved the food, ambiance and service. Our expectation of a casual dinner turned into a truly special experience. A definite must-go for all DC foodies. My favorites are the NZ Lamb Chops, Gold Steak and Langoustines! So difficult to find that one place in the DC area that is consistently delivering quality food & drinks. This place has done just that and is the reason why we keep coming back!
The service here is terrible. The hostess had a very nasty attitude and made snarky comments to myself and my friends as we were coming in. There was broken glass underneath our table. My sprite was disgustingly flat. My waiter was ok but he didn’t know how to explain the confusing menu prices. All in all I won’t be returning and would not recommend. The ambiance was cute but they need new staff immediately.
HORRIBLE PLACE! Save yourselves from coming to this subpar place. It is overpriced for no reason and the food is horrible. I accidentally left my purse there and called to check to see if I could retrieve it and I got redirected to VM telling me to email them my request, for which I did, it has been 2 weeks and NO RESPONSE TO MY EMAILS.THIEVES!!!!!!! And don’t go to Zebbies garden upstairs unless you want to reek like smoke once you come out.
This place is absolutely incredible. Servers, manager, They are so kind and so on point. Don’t let these other people fool you, the food and ambiance is absolutely where you wanna be at. I’ll put my name on it.
The decorations are definitely the vibe and although very crowded if you end up getting bottle service youll have a little room to yourself. The music keeps the mood going and tons of nice photo opportunities can be had while here. Great place to go and let loose. Would not recommend if youre looking for something lowkey.
First of all, we were running a little late. I called the restaurant and was forwarded to the third party to text them instead of calling. I tried to explain to the person upfront but she did not care to hear me. She cut me off and said “I don’t know what you want me to tell you”. I decided to leave because she clearly did not want my business. Customer service is extremely important in this line of business and with her attitude she will drive many people away.
Average at best. Went this past Saturday at 9 and was very underwhelmed. Started with the cherry blossom margarita which had absolutely no tequila in it and tasted like cherry syrup.Oysters were tiny, langostine bisque tasted burnt. Waygu bolognese was good, but I’ve had better for cheaper… honestly not even sure it was waygu but our waiter was sure to let us know it was “A7 waygu and the chef is making no money off selling it, he just likes it and invested $1 million into the restaurant so he can do what he wants” which I thought was tacky to bring up.My issue comes with the upselling. Our waiter was constantly trying to up sell us, with nothing to back it up. Ex. You’re trying to convince me to get a $100 steak at a place with plastic champagne flutes… only thing I hate worse than a bad liar, is a bad sales person.Good place for grabbing food before hitting one of the clubs on the strip, so you don’t have to drink on an empty stomach or sit in shake shack with a club dress on.
I like the ambience. Very pretty interior design. The appetizers tower was absolutely delicious. My salmon entree was cooked to perfection. I dropped a star because the drinks were not that great.
The place is all about asthenic. It looks nice. However, it has a strong smell of fish. And the food wasnt good in my opinion. I had the Waygu medium and it wasnt tender enough. The seafood pasta had no taste at all. Honestly the best part of the meal was the fries.
Strong drinks when we went which is nice, atmosphere is cute. It’s more DC esthetics than food/meals or service from my experience.
I cant complain. I see other people had bad experiences however some hostess (forget her name)was very gracious for me and then later my group. Been here with a lady friend then later with a group. Both experiences were above average. Id come back here occasionally even though I hate this side of town for parking and the young kids all over the dam place
Decor is beautiful, good music and excellent quality sound. I definitely had a good time until later when people started lighting cigarettes inside. I can’t put 5 stars to a club where people smoke inside. The stink ruined my fun. If you don’t have a problem with cigarette smoke then you will enjoy yourself for sure.I also wish we had a list behind the bar of the cocktails available. We couldn’t find the drinks list or the QR code to have it on our phones.
Came here for dinner with 7:30pm reservations for 2 on a Saturday night and was immediately sat. We had such a personable & patient waitress (with blonde hair). We had the calamari for our appetizer, Moroccan salmon & pappardelle dagnello as our entrees, the mayflower flambé as our desert, 10/10 loved all our food. Drinks are standard prices for DC but we enjoyed the bees knees, French riveria & the mayflower spritz. The décor is IG worthy and the full body bathroom mirror is a plus.
Sunday 10/16/22. Was with some friends there. The bartender named Tamer ( I didn’t know his name, until I read the reviews and saw someone put a negative review about him too and attached a picture so i identified him, same guy) in the upper floor where the EDM music dj was playing, was extremely rude, nasty and sick. I was going to ask him for a glass of water, but he was telling me to move because one of the girls in club who appears he knows, was coming towards him to say hi. Nasty attitude. Someone needs to teach him some customer service skills and how to be friendly with customers. You can leave that nasty attitude at home. People is there to have fun and you are there to serve (don’t forget that). Middle eastern people fail to manage a business properly due to their poor customer service and this is a great example. I hope you get my message. And sorry for one star. It’s all because of the guy. Thanks
What a great wonderful experience for my daughter 25 birthday party! The ambiance was beautiful food presentation omg was excellent the food was perfect drinks a little strong however they were great and beautiful. Will be back.❤️
Lamb chops had no flavor. Not worth the $.Then they charge u 20% gratuity. I do not like that. It is up to the customer to decide. Not the restaurant. Bigg no no !
Service is great! The raw oysters and calamari were okay but the canape towers weren’t it.. may give this place another try on their entrees. It is a beautiful setting though!
Found this place on TikTok. And it didn’t disappoint. Our waiter Will was amazing. Very attentive and informative on the menu items. He was pleasant to speak to. Love the restaurant ambience. Will definitely come back and dine a little later so I can stay for the night club that starts at 11pm.
Beautiful space and great staff. But my phone got stolen right out of my purse within 10 minutes on a Saturday night at this club. Bartenders and security were as helpful as they could be given the situation, but just a heads up to be careful here.
Went on a Thursday around 10 PM for my birthday. If you read reviews, there are no covers, nothing. Got there and there was a huge crowd. There was no line. I was being pushed over top of the garden area to the side. Random men were squishing me and my friend together, it was a mess. The bouncers were yelling at us. They were letting certain friend groups go ahead of people, no matter where we were when they came in and then when I got to the front, they told me I couldn’t come in because I didn’t have a ticket and it was capacity. It was 10 o’clock at night and half of these people are under age and you could tell that they had fakes. I am from the city. I do not deserve to have to battle with white, under age college boys to get into the city where I live. Trash do not come here horrible service, horrible customers, horrible environment. It’s literally giving PWI college party.
$500 2 people for dinner table shaking food was warm instead of hot not worth the money order the Azul tequila gave us Jose Cuervo never go there ag5
Went the past Saturday! Excellent, food presentation amazing, decor very chic, great ambiance. Starting from the host that greeted us, very welcoming and charming! Love his smile!! I highly recommend it!!! Will be going back!!!
Very fun environment, great service & the food was amazing! Also a perfect place to take tons of pictures. Will definitely be returning :)
Overall experience was not even worth it i will never go back there
Be careful at this venue. I was drugged and had my car, wallet, phone, bank accounts wiped, etc. by two regulars. Then, I found another person from the same night that was drugged and had his phone stolen/ fraud activities. On reddit alone Ive found 5-6 people that posted about either being drugged here or stolen from, or both. Even if you look in their earlier reviews youll see a comment from a patron that witnessed multiple phones stolen in one night. Crime statistics for the longitude and latitude of The Mayflower Club/ Zebbies include countless thefts, grand theft auto etc. many likely associated with the club or the sidewalk/ street close by. Seems abnormally unsafe for such a small venue. Please feel free to reach out if you were also a victim by other club attendees. They do get some great DJs, though. I will say that.
Nice club with very pretty decorations that are very instagram worthy. Taking out a star for average music and taking out another star because the bar doesnt serve long Island for some reasons. Other than that, it is worth a visit.
Came here for the first time on a Sunday for an event and bro this Bartender Alex need a raise!
I reserved a table this past weekend and service wasnt provided. Bouncer at the door didnt have my reservation and made me wait in regular line. I wasnt contacted by a host to see if I still wanted my table until an hour and half before they closed - and they are still trying to charge me for the down payment for a two tables.
I hate that I have to give this beautiful place 1 star but the service here is absolutely terrible for their hiked up prices. The decor and ambiance are to die for but we did not have a great experience with our service. The margaritas are great but you do NOT get what you pay for with them.I might give this place another try to see if they were just having an off night but from the other reviews I’ve seen I think this is just the culture there.
Bartender Miss V took care of us to start the night then Will and Bella made our night celebrating a birthday. So patient and understanding. Also met the executive chef!Great place with a great crew
Excellent venue, fun atmosphere, great food, wonderful service. We had a great time & our server, Will, took great care of us. We will definitely come back again.
Staff especially the bartender who works at the front bar is not capable of doing his job. He charged my card and never gave it back to me. Funny thing is I was watching him while he was on his phone and at the same time he was having a soccer conversation with another customer; he left me speechless. When I nicely asked him to look for my card he blamed me for losing it.
Went for my wife’s birthday and Omar the server made it so special! Will definitely come back and want him there every time. Great food and great service, highly recommend
This place has one of the best bartender ever : Toby , super nice person. The food is great , good music , I love this place so much , 100% recommend !
The bar and lounge is absolutely stunning and they also have coat check along with bouncers to check and verify that patrons are of age to enter this establishment, but this place lacks customer service to the fullest. I originally was going to the bar next door to visit a different bartender but I was unaware that they were not open.I had realized that the Mayflower was new and I decided to check it out since the original place that I wanted to go to was closed and also due to the fact that They were hiring.Where do I start I guess I had stumbled upon this place while they had a big party going on which I had no clue I stood at the bar for about 15 mins and no one had acknowledged me or ask if I wanted a drink. Then the lights had come on and since I already work at a bar I already knew what that mean. I was having issues with my phone and tried to call a transportation and it was not working for some reason. I explained this to one of the staff and they said they wouldnt help me and didnt. I explained the situation to one of the host and she understood but there was a a young man that was about 58 heavy set with blonde slick hair that was treating me as if I was a drunk belligerent bar guess when that was not the case I walked into the establishment completely sober. Another lady who she called her manager came out and she refused to help me she said go outside theres plenty of cabs, Im not familiar with this area so I believed her I go outside no CABS I had to ask the fellow police officers to help me with what I asked the original establishment to do. Im not sure why they didnt want to help me especially after I thought about initially applying here, Im not sure if these people treated me so poorly because the color of my skin or idk the color of my skin, but this was not acceptable and I will never come back ever.Shame on this company because they have a nice concept going on but absolutely terrible staff and costumer service.
The decor is soooooo cute and shek. Nice space to move around. Music was up to date and had energy. Employees are very professional. Great place for friends to laugh, dance, and create new memories.
That’s my favorite place to hang out in Washington DC. I love the food and also the club time. I always get good service, Toby is the best bartender ever.
This place is amazing, Toby the bartender makes the most delicious drinks Ive ever had, their food is really good and the music its awesome.
Chef Alex Oradai is a maestro of culinary ecstasy. Order the smoked Lamb Chops medium plus, absoluley divine!!! We also enjoyed the Moroccan Salmon
Just a bunch of swindling waiters who are money hungry and act like they’re a sales person at apple with all the add ons. The whole place is weird vibes and a tourist trap. Would never go back. 🤮
This is a place if you like to smoke, smells pretty bad. The rooftop is a little open, so it can get really cold. Coat check $4. Nice decor.
I had a great time! The service was wonderful and the bartenders were attentive and lovely to talk to! Shout-out to Dennis and Toby 😄
Its gorgeous. Hands down one of the prettiest spots in the DMV. The drinks were delicious as well. The food is just ok.
Had a great experience! First time here and I will definitely come back! Omar was an exceptional waiter and made are experience worth while!
Be careful when you reserve a table. My tab was $1830 after the tip. Waitress rounded up to $1900. Has to call my bank to get my $70. Smh
Ioana is the best bartender ever. She went above and beyond for us and made the best drinks around. The music was too notch too and the food was amazing.
Great service and deliverance of the hospitality , the music happens to stand out and the environment brings out a great vibe to share with friends , food always has some great appearing from the hands of the CDC , great choice for the weekend!
Came here to eat empanadas on the patio, stayed to watch drunkards stand in line for the club next door. Apparently the place is undergoing renovations, so only mixed drinks and bottles beers are available for purchase.
It’s nice for a quiet, classy date or a birthday celebration. Chill vibes. Food a bit pricey but overall really good. I recommend coming here.
From the minute you walk in, this place is VIBES! The food is to die for and the staff is even better. Huge shoutout to Will, he is honestly the best! Would recommend for a date night, evening out or for a night that keeps on going!
I had a reservation for this restaurant because it is DC parking was very hard but I did notify the restaurant that I was running late by 15 mins when I got there my table wasn’t still not even ready and since I was a party of two I had to wait for my guess which on their policy states groups of six or more so that didn’t apply to me. Then she tried to offer me a table that I had to be done by 11 because she needed it since they close the downstairs for the club mind you at that time it was 10. I said no I would like my original reservation once I finally got seated they did offer me a complementary drink which was amazing the Mayflower splitz my other guest did arrive we had amazing meal howeverthe next day my card was overcharged I filed a dispute with my bank I even went to the restaurant and spoke to a manager she was supposed to send me a receipt however she never sent me the receipt I contacted her multiple times she never replied which I find very suspicious when I’m asking for my receipt so I can work it over with my bank
The food here is really good and the waiter we had was very nice and attentive. I had a fish dish that was very flavorful and the chocolate mousse dessert is super good.
I loved the place in DC it was nice, and also I was served last weekend by a so nice bartender his name is Toby, and I recommend the place!
Beyond disgusted by the service I received here. I came here on a Saturday night. They make you get a hand stamp to go to the second floor. When me and my friends were walking up the stairs the bouncer aggressively grabs my arm and I ask what he’s doing and he says “you know I can’t see that shit” and when I ask what he means he says “you’re dark as hell”. My jaw actually dropped and I had to stop for a second to play it back to see if that actually happened. To hear a LIGHT SKIN AFRICAN AMERICAN man talk to a dark skin African American woman like that is beyond appalling. When I told him he shouldn’t say that to anyone ever again he starts laughing. Then when my lighter skin friends confronted him about it all he had to say was “I’m not doing this right now” then proceeded to ignore them. If this is what Mayflower stands for please be aware of the colorism you will experience when coming here.
Bouncer was discriminatory. Let in three guys wearing Walmart shorts, sandals, and then didn’t let in an Asian guy for wearing shorts.I wasn’t let in because I was wearing a black tank top and it didn’t “fit the vibe” even though I was wearing all black and designer and I’m from Europe .. but then a woman wearing literally a bra and shorts was let in.Haven’t seen this anywhere, not in Europe, Miami, NYC, etc.
Your promoters were lowkey transphobic and homophobic and also unnecessarily touchy when I asked them not to be... generally doesnt seem like a queer-friendly environment so I dont recommend!
The layout is typical. But for rooftop club its not really outside in any way. Also no elevator so three or more flights of steps.
Beautiful place for a night out. I loved everything about it. The drinks are amazing ❤️👌
Cool spot just wish they played more reggaeton to attract the Latino crowd.
Cutest restaurant. Drinks and food were 10/10! Don’t let the bad reviews fool you. Maycol took great care of us. Thank you for great food and service!
Ive here only at night for the party. It is better than other places around. Nice music and better space.
Took my wife out for dinner in the city. We had an amazing night out. The atmosphere and food were amazing. We will be back!
The worst place ever. Drinks over priced, place is ghetto they try to make it better with decor but really it’s not. Go to rose bar
It’s a wonderful place , has the best food ever and the club is amazing , I’d definitely come back !!
Food is amazing, friendly service, need to come here if youre in town.
Charged more money than I spend
Nice brunch spot except the food seemed limited for the amount of people that were there.
Don’t go here. They use their dress code as a thin veil for homophobia. Got escorted out because of my tank top.
Club is sketchy. Security guards stand idle. Several patrons got phones stolen in the early hours of 8/21 evening and security guards in the establishment said that’s to be expected here.
We went dancing, it was so much fun. The music was great, the atmosphere is so beautiful 😍 I had so much fun.
Chef Alex has the best pasta in DC! Please let me repeat that…best f-ing pasta.
Great service, tasty, and great-looking food. Would definitely come back again.
The lamb chops were so good!Def. Recommend! Service was outstanding!
Very nice ambiance, food and drinks were good! A vibe for sure.
The food was really good and perfectly cooked. The ambiance was really beautiful.
Delicious brunch. Loved the combination of flavors and mimosas
It’s a Mediterranean restaurant that’s aesthetically pleasing. Everyone pretty much enjoyed the food that was offered.
My friend was denied for not wearing a “religious enough” turban. He was wearing a bandana.
Didn’t eat or drink anything here , just came for the music on a Saturday night and it was a vibe
Good Food & Service. Make sure to reserve.
Rude staff. Told us we needed a ticket for the top floor. Other staff told us we didnt. We chose to leave.
Great venue & staff. Front door people are very professional & polite. Make sure u check it out
The food made very sick. I would not recommend. It doesn’t even taste good.
Sat at the flowered patio on a Wednesday, great atmosphere, food, and drink.
Answered an emergency phone call and was refused entry back in. would not return
Awesome venue. Stellar food presentation. Must try!
Nice cozy spot overlooking Georgetown. Great for a date or low key dinner.
Two stars is for the aesthetic. Very disappointing service just for 20% gratuity to be added
Sat at the bar and Toby was attentive and well as Proved GREAT Costumer Service!
Amazing venue. Great staff and amazing food
Hit or miss certain nights, nice chic venue, and pricey drinks, D.C.had fun tho!
Food was good, but not filling, cute ambiance
Best club and restaurant in dc hands down.
Clean, respectful atmosphere with attentive bartenders and hookah personnel.
The decor was great and drink prices was fair too.
They didnt have a wine selection which was weird...
Service is lacking and they separated our group bc of covid which is silly bc we were all together
Wife love this place and we will be returning!
Really cute experience, great food, and x ope atmosphere
It was a wonderful restaurant! Service outstanding!!!
One of the best vibes in town, especially for day partying!!
I been there 1 time, good entrainment
Places like this don’t exist in DCTrue Innovators … No less than 6 stars
Great energy, staff was informative and kind.
Great EDM and hip hop. Wonderful DJs.
Beautiful space. Great atmosphere as well, will be back.
