Midtown Moon is a great hangout. I normally come here two to three times a month to catch up with friends after a long work week. On 7/16 I went to the new upstairs bar and a guy who normally works the downstairs bar was working with a girl and his attitude towards me was pretty bad. I tried to deflect it and he tried to project harder. People come out to have a good time, not deal with attitudes from unhappy staff. He has openly spoken about workplace politics to patrons in the past also. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe place to hangout with good service!
Drag shows unlike any other! Some of the most amazing and talented performers in ATL here!! The drinks are good, staff is pretty quick to serve food and drinks. Over all a great atmosphere. I enjoy being a regular at this place! Lots and lots of fun with endless entertainment. What more could you ask for?!!!
This is my favorite bar now. I have visited here several times and the service has been consistent and I enjoy the bartenders happy demeanors. One of the best selection of food options- although the menu is limited, the portions are A+ and food is always hot. Plenty of space for distancing or to hide, which I do often.Great vibes :)
I honestly should have left this review forever ago. This is honestly one of my favorite bars in Atlanta. The staff is absolutely amazing. Special shoutout to Ruby hosting Bingo and brunch along with David always helping out. I have never had a bad time, the drinks are great, food is fantastic, and you cant beat the prices for Atlanta. The outside area is also perfect for hanging out and really ties in the place. This place is seriously a hidden gem. A new member Charlie helped me locate my wallet in lost in found. This has been the only time Ive ever had a wallet turned in with all contents!! I cant wait to see him more along with the rest of the fam at this Oasis!
Always enjoy the atmosphere here. The beerIs Cold. The food is a good and fresh. Finally the Bartenders are super friendly andAre very attentive. FYI I am here on Thanksgiving night 2019. Enjoying a greatNight out with my partner.
Midtown moon has really gone downhill. I went there Saturday night 11/20and was harassed by the security. He said he had to check my bag and proceeded to check everybody in leaving me standing to the side for like 5 minutes. He finally begrudgingly came over to me looked in my bag for literally a second. He didn’t even check my ID. When I said to my friend “he didn’t even check my Id” the security came running inside the bar I guess to intimidate and confront me about what I said to my friend. When he noticed I wasn’t intimidated he backed off. Ok so after that fiasco I tried to decompress and get a drink. The bartenders are rude and too preoccupied with talking to each their than listening to what we order. My friend ordered 2 house tequila and pineapple juice. The bartender charged us for 2 margaritas! We didn’t ask for that. But we rolled with the punches and paid anyway. Then the drinks were terrible. I have been going to midtown moon since it was called “burkharts” and never have I been treated this way. I suggest you get new security. The current security is going to end getting himself in trouble if he confronts the wrong person aggressively the way he did me. I won’t returning anytime soon.
So I went yesterday to see what had been done with the place and I couldnt be more happy. The air right from my first step back in felt lighter, happier, more welcomed. As me and my friend sat down right away the bartender introduced himself and was really really nice the entire time we were there. After ordering food (which was AMAZING) we had the owner introduce himself which really stood out to me. Of all the times I went backstage to help the queens when it was called by the other name, nobody from management ever spoke to me except What are you doing back here? Granted they dont have to, but the fact that this happened pretty much right as I walked in, I was completely sold. Even the other people on staff were really friendly and struck conversations with us and it all felt natural like good friends. I cant wait to see this place grow 💚💚💚EDIT: Ive now seen shows here and just as my dining experience was, the air is so much better. Even the entertainers look happier!
Love this place. TBH, looked a little sketch at first but then you walk in and the atmosphere... babe, it’s lit! So much fun, on every level. Literally, there are multiple levels, in clouding the back patio that are so lively and fun. The staff is great, music is bumping and the entertainment is phenomenal!
Customer service is horrible the bartender in the bar on the dance floor area was nasty. I simply wanted to place a food order. He obviously didnt want to serve my black friends and I. He appeared to be Hispanic or of some decent. I used to frequent this bar weekly. I hope others dont experience his attitude or this type of discrimination. I mean he didnt want to serve us or even place our order. He slammed the order on the counter
My favorite bar in ATL so far. I love the outdoor patio and the friendly staff.Hands-down the best drag shows! Its a diverse crowed of all ages that comes here.UpdateUnfortunately, this review needed to be updated.Midtown moon is in decline. I came here on a Sunday and it was guys performing as guys. Which is beyond boring.Second try and they dared to demand that I pay 10 dollars to lock my bag away. I came all this way and the audacity.
Closed the patio around 2:30 pm on a Saturday night. Went to the back bar and someone on a megaphone kicked everybody out of the back bar not but a few minutes later. As I made my way to the dance floor the bartender scolded me for “smoking” and pointed to their No Smoking policy posted somewhere even though I was vaping. I held my vape up and told him it wasn’t smoke and security escorted me out. Been coming to this bar since 2006. Won’t be back.
The first time I visited this bad, I was overcharged by 30 dollars for one drink. I tried calling many times, and the number was disconnected. I showed up and spoke with one of the managers who wrote my contact info down and promised someone would call me. That never happened. He told me that I was not the only one that was overcharged that night and I would be refunded. I finally got ahold of the owner. He said that he was not able to locate the transaction and would not credit my card back for the money that I was overcharged. The second time I visited this establishment, my friends and I waited at the bar for almost 15 minutes for a drink. The bartender didn’t even look at us or acknowledge that we were there. He only helped people that would stand where he was as if he were planted in one spot! About 5-10 people got drinks before us before we gave up and had to find a different bar.I was a regular at Burkharts, but I will not be visiting this establishment again
I was harassed as soon as I walked in by the guy hosting the karaoke first time Ive been there since the name change. And honestly probably the last shoving a Mike in my face. Because I looked like I was from out of town is not a great plan I lived there in. My early 20s. Just because Im not flamboyant did not make it ok to call me out. Not the safe welcoming vibe burks used to have.
Went in to get have a drink and some food at the bar. Ordered food. Waited over an hour. When I asked bartender if they forgot my order, he rudely told me that I didnt order any food. I reminded him that I did, and he asked what did I order. I said a quesadilla. He then got really nasty and said I was a liar because they dont have a quesadilla on the menu. OK, it was a panini, whatever. The owner was sitting next to me at the bar. He wanted to know my name. Maybe he was going to try to help, but at this point, I just wanted to get out of there because I have never been treated so rudely by staff at a bar or restaurant.
First time here and YASS! Welcoming, safe, huge, great music and fabulous bartenders at several bars serving great drinks. I had a great time and the food was ridiculously good, abundant, and the price was amazing!
My girl friend invited me to Karaoke night here & I really enjoyed it! So much so that I readily attended the next Karaoke night even though I was ti’ed & it looked like the sky was finna give out.I was surprised that it wasn’t filled to the brim, but a few of the patrons filled me in on the issues the previous owner overlooked & it seems like they’re trying to build it back up to what it used to be.This is a super cute & very spacious spot with good vibes, cute bartenders, a fun crowd, & tasty drinks! I have to shout out the Hostess wit da Mostess - 🗣Angelicaaaa🤗💖Tip: As far as Karaoke goes - some folks can SANG, some can sing, & some shouldn’t. 😂 I probably fall in that last category, but there are plenty of folks like me who come for the ambience, good vibes, & to sit pretty while singing back up.Needless to say, I’ll definitely be back!
The chicken Parmesan that Marco personally made was nothing short of an amazing authentic Italian dish that made me feel closer to home. Thanks for bringing authentic Italian food on the menu! Great drinks and its nice to see the rainbow too. Lol
Some nice changes have taken place, but whenever we go here it seems very “dead”. Still would consider going here for a low-key hangout with a couple friends. Best outdoor patio in midtown.
One of the drunk bartenders got mad at me for asking a question. Then he blamed me because he forgot what his drink orders were. He should have been mad because his blood alcohol level was higher than his IQ.
It’s so sad what this place has become, this place has changed so much and not for the better. You get frisked before you go in now, something this place never had to do for over 20+ years, If you ever would have told me there would be the amount and drama and fighting that this place has all the time I would have laughed. The show is now terrible. The heart of the place just stopped beating after it was Burkharts
Bad experiance-Rude/Unprofessional bartender by the name of Jim. Apparently his favorite pasttime is taking tone in a rude/condesceding fashion with polite paying customers. To say the least I wont be coming back ever. There are way too many places in Atlanta where I am welcomed and appreciated as a customer. Slowly but surely Midtown Moon is turning into the old Burkharts (My opinion). I could care less if management decides to review the incident. More than likely he will get a slap on the wrist and be allowed to continue being his rude, miserable self. That is all.
I will never come here again. The bars manager was totally out of line when he forcefully made customers leave and pulled a sawed off shotgun from his car to attempt to shoot them.
The person I met was very rude and highly disrespectful. It made the whole experience terrible. I believe there was difference in attitude because I am coloured. Dont go there if you are not white.
Love this place I do 3 shows a weeks Wednesday night , Saturday night and sunday brunch ! Best thing Ive done was move all my shows to this wonderful spot !
Ive enjoyed this place.Went to meet my boyfriend grandson with the family and right from the start i loved the people the food and the music was great.over all people should try this place
Awesome! Very good time. Bartender was excellent and charity blackjack kept us laughing all night.
I have been there a couple of times on Saturday nights, I always have a blast and the atmosphere is so much fun!!!
The bar food was really really good. The service a bit slow.. very slow... cool place.
Food was ok...but the service and drink were awesome...Juan is a wonderful bartender...definitely will go back!
I witnessed a group of white employees of this establishment pull a shotgun out on black patrons who were simply trying to figure diffuse an argument.
Fun little bar in Atlanta. Friendly staff. Great heifer review show on sundays.
We went to Midtown Moon for the first time tonight and saw the Drag Show which was very entertaining! Love this place!
It was very busy but always a good time and a wonderful place to meet friends out.
Met the owner on xbox seemed like a pretty cool guy but he left the match half way through so Im pretty sad (apparently the guys name is marco)
Always like to go here Friday or Saturday night watch the shows... Great environment!!
Alas the brunch is no longer offered. But the Chicken Picatta is out of this world.
The weekend shows are never a let down, your sure to have a good time
Very diverse lots of fun and smiles.Karaoke night was turn up
This is my comfort zone. Good entertainment, drinks and food. Come and be yourself type of place
Fun bar with surprisingly strong food selection as well.
