This is hands down my favorite spot to dance in Austin! Barbarellas used to be my go-to, but this place has quickly climbed to the top of my list. The vibe here is just incredible, and while Barbarellas will always have a special place in my heart, this venue brings something unique to Austin. The karaoke nights are a a must—even though I never got called up, I just knew if I hung around a little longer, Id be next in line. But honestly, the whole experience is worth the wait. From the quirky, artistic decor that captures Austin’s eclectic spirit to the intimate space that feels like a secret spot shared among locals, this place is pure magic. The sense of community is unmatched, and you can tell the owner truly cherishes everything that makes Austin so special.Every time I’m in the area, I make it a point to stop by, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether youre with friends or just flying solo, this is the place to be. Trust me—drop by, and youll see why I love it so much.
How do I give enough praise to this homegrown, disco club? While it was the legendary (pandemic-born) origin story that first piqued my curiosity (check out the Instagram for that), but it was the perfect mix of on-the-spot dj mashups and jaw-dropping hand-painted artwork throughout the joint that convinced me how special this place is.What else?- Kareoke here is the best in town (and theyll let you sing just about whatever you can think of). It feels more like a party where everyone is gathered around, rooting for the singer, rather than an awkward separation and distance between the performer and audience.- Themed parties?? You dont want to miss these. Ive been to Eyes Wide Shut New Years Galas, Halloween blowouts, and I think an Easter Goth Rave? (Maybe Im just imagining that last one). People always dress to impress and spread some great vibes. 👌- Bartenders are top-notch! (shout out to Rio). Strong drinks and cheap! But its strongest asset?- its owner, Sean. I dont know of many places like this, especially ones that have a creative madman painting new artwork overnight, spinning ridiculously dancey tunes (even if its ones you never heard of), and going out of his way to make ALL people feel safe & welcome there. (EXCEPT if youre someone trying to make someone else uncomfortable, then he really doesnt want you there. No one does tho. go on. git.)The place is constantly evolving, whether in its lighting, artwork, drink selection, music, or types of events hosted. So even if its been a while since youve been there, check it out again, I bet youll find something new again.
I love to dance. This place makes it possible to dance, have good drinks, good vibes, and good fun. Also love there is seating and plenty of water for dance breaks. DJs are always banging and make me need to run back to the dance floor. Yall are amazing. Thank you!
One of my favorite bars in Austin! Karaoke during the week, late night dancing and cheap drinks with the best bartenders. Owner really cares, constantly making the bar better and playing the best tunes.
Such a unique place where you can dance the night away. I have met so many beautiful people at this venue who were always having the time of their life. Might want to sit this one out if West 5th is more your vibe
Amazing space to dance and hang out with friends! Has a nice big outdoor space in the back.Edit: I am a queer man and I did not feel unsafe or discriminated against in any way! There will always be straight or bro-types that show up to any scene, even 5th St! The owner can’t control that! Think twice before you let you hurt small businesses just trying to survive, a bad google review can do a lot of damage. Who are you trying to punish by doing this, and for what?
Really is just the best bar in ATX. Everyone is welcoming, it’s diverse, it has incredible music and an amazing patio outside. It’s a rare bar here in Austin and I cannot say enough great things about it.
This place used to be one of my favorite bars as a queer man. It’s turned into exactly every single straight club in austin if not worse. Terrible music, no air conditioning, rude homophobic men everywhere. This place used to be a safe place to be queer and yourself; but like all of austin it’s moved in a new direction. I’ll always cherish my “is this a gay club” tee
Cute place but the policy of having to tip or youll be refused service somehow gives the bartenders the right to be rude. Me and my party always tip but the bartender didnt hear our order right and when we tried to tell her that we had ordered another shot she gave us attitude and was very rude to us. I get it, bartending can be frustrating but theres no reason to be rude to us. We ended up not tipping because of it and we were refused service after. Well be taking our business somewhere else where people arent rude.
This place used to be called Dozen Street. On 12th Street. Cute. Outer heaven has become a cool dance night for the University crowd especially, but a fun place to hang for everyone. Have a drink, perhaps some karaoke, maybe on a Wednesday. A good spot if you dont want to get into the dirty of downtown, And a more friendly neighborhood local spot, regardless.
Super fun and unassuming place, DJ played Todd Terje when I was there a while back and then also Dschingis Khan, neither of which I’ve heard anywhere else in Austin. DJ, if you’re reading, you should also play Pedro by Raffaele Carra
Me and my partner love karaoke and have been wanting to try this spot after we discovered it. Last night we took a chance and had the worst karoke bar experience yet. Either the karaoke mc or bartender’s friends were celebrating a birthday and as such the bar kind of became their bar. The entire night the bar felt kinda cliquey. We put our names in the queue as soon as we arrived for our songs. We waited 2 hrs as people who arrived after (who appeared familiar with the MC) got selected before us.While we were waiting we got some drinks. It was cheap well liquor in less than 8 oz cups, for about 12 dollars. While waiting we wracked up a bill for just mediocre expensive tiny drinks. Also while we are there, the MC clearly couldn’t mix because the speaker blew out and she kept turning up the mic.Because we really spent more time there than either intended, waiting for our turns respectively. Then both my partners and my phones die. So me and my partner go up to the bar, they have no charger— totally cool. But then we go up to the Karaoke mc and we can clearly see the charger she has on her desk and she says “I can’t.” To use asking if we can leave a phone there to charge.Okay. I understand I am not entitled to a charge and it’s my responsibility to be charged. But this is a bar at midnight where no more public transportation is available. But we both work in the service industry and it’s an unspoken industry standard that if someone needs a charge, you help out your fellow community member. So at this point, after bad drinks and bad vibes, we have to walk across the interstate over the bridge at night (unsafe), and actually good dive bar, Better Days. We got two larger drinks there for $4 each. There they let us charge our phone.
THE DJ LAST NIGHT WAS AMAZING!!! Seriously, I hope to hear him play again in the future. He did amazing, the energy from his music was awesome everyone enjoyed it. He set the bar so high i look forward to dancing to his music again in the future!
If you can’t take the heat, stay out of Texas. If you can’t take the gay, why come to a gay club?Best spot in Austin, hands down.
In a world that can feel chaotic, this place just feels like home. A combined force of the outpouring of effort, love and care from the owners Sean & Katelyn and their entire team, paired with one of kind disco mixes, spanning across genres, always giving us something new to boogie to. The endorphins are high, the lights are low, and the mood is just right.
10/10 must go and do drunk karaokeMy partner and I went here for the first time last night with a new of our friends. Definitely made our list of places we will regularly be going to. The DJ (AJ) was absolutely phenomenal and so nice. Our bartender was also awesome and made great drinks. And the group of people who attend have an excellent vibe, as well as the establishment itself. There was one guy who was there and was trying to cause trouble, but the owners immediately took action and did everything they could to keep their customers safe. I dont really interact with people much or go out of my comfort zone in public, but I definitely made friends there. Its a very accepting and inviting feel. Stop by on a Tuesday and have some fun :)
I dont think the owner pays them nearly enough, at least judging by his $8/hr replies on some of the other reviews. I tipped in cash and because they didnt see me offer it, they branded me a non-tipper and refused service when I tried getting a drink later. Kind of a bummer, since the crowd is pretty cool. Can tell from some of the other reviews Ive not been the only one with this experience. And to the owners pissy little responses - keep on keepin on ;)
Fun times! DJ killed it and the drinks are solid. Its a pretty small place though so if you think you deserve personal space go dance on the sidewalk.
Really great place to drink and party the only thing I wasn’t a fan of is when I tried to close my tab the bartender told me it’s already closed so by the policy it’s an automatic 20% tip from your tab which I didn’t mind but for other people might be put off. all in all great time highly recommend.
Had a lot of at a birthday here last weekend! We went on a a Thursday night after it’d been raining, and there weren’t many people around until about 10:30/11PM when I snuck away. The DJ is great and she also sang songs. There are regulars who come to jam out, and we enjoyed their friendliness! The four stars is because they don’t have too many R&B artists in the repertoire! We only saw 3 or 4 Beyonce songs, hardly any Frank Ocean, Brent Faiyaz, etc. If there were more R&B or Disney songs, I’d go all the time!
Amazing lineup of DJs, with a crowd full of beautiful peeps. Many were dressed up as angels or demons for the event. Had the best time❣️
Dancing last night was the happiest I have felt all year. It’s such a safe, intimate, and fun place to be.
If you convince me out on a weekend, I’m going to land here. Great music, rad people, and the place always has the coolest art on the walls.
The best bar ever!!! Amazing vibes and music!!! It had been a long time since I enjoyed going out because all the bars in Austin have horrible music and always feel accosted by men. The owner is super protective of all people and prioritizes the safety and comfort of everyone
We were going to move out of Austin but this club convinced us to stay. It’s that powerful
Went to this place for the first time last night with a group of friends for karaoke and it was a blast. Everyone who worked there was friendly, chill and welcoming. The vibe and aesthetic of the place are amazing. The dj was so kind and supportive to everyone who went up to sing. The bartender made great drinks and could whip something up if you didnt know what you wanted. We even got to meet the owners and they were both super friendly and making sure everyone was safe and having a good time. Definitely going again!!!
This used to be one of my favorite places to dance in Austin, period. After last night…not so much. I went to close my tab before heading out & left a small tip, knowing that my partner had already left a larger tip for my tab (in cash). Combined, the total amount of tip based on the total tab was sufficient. However, it simply wasn’t good enough for the bartender apparently. The bartender went out of her way to find me on the dance floor (as I waited for a friend to close her tab so that we could leave) & said that I needed to ‘get out.’ My partner then started speaking with her, in my defense, which she wasn’t pleased with. I then asked her what was going on & she said, ‘I get paid $2 an hour, your tip wasn’t enough’ or something along those lines. $2 an hour?! If that’s true, how horrible! I told her I needed to wait on my friend & then we would leave, as already planned. She stood there for a few minutes, then went to grab a bouncer from the front to physically kick us out I assume? Thankfully my friend was done tabbing out by this time, so we walked right past them & left. I’m very disappointed. While I definitely empathize with working in the service industry & low/insufficient pay, this behavior crossed the line for me. Please do better, Outer Heaven! Your staff & guests deserve it. (Oh also, the bartender charged my card 4X extra for tip, which I did not consent to or realize until I double checked my receipt later on…I don’t think that’s legal? What a nightmare!)
One of the best [dive] nightclubs to actually go dancing at. The music vibe is always right and the service is good and quick. They have just the perfect amount of space out back to take a break from the dance floor out back. Highly recommend going with a group of friends 4-6 deep to this little place for a good time. They also have karaoke during the week too!
This place is absolutely horrible every time I’ve been there haha. Some of the worst staff and management I ever seen I was about to tip like 5 dollar bill on my 2nd modelo but since my first tip was too low it was a problem like you coulda gotten 6 bucks off two cheep beers but you decided to be greedy and make a comment. Y’all just cracked a tab relax
I don’t usually rate 1- star but here’s the reason why.Aside from the great DJ, the bathroom reeked & needed servicing & the bar staff that night were rude and drinks were poorly made. After buying our first round of drinks of the night, all 10 of us agreed our drinks were definitely a watered down version of what we had all ordered. Eventually some of us decided to opt for another drink, hoping that by ordering a simple drink- a Paloma- the quality would be redeemed and unfortunately that was not the case. I walked up to the bar, drink in hand & kindly requested for the bartender if she may remake the drink to which the bartender rudely exchanged convo and refused and shared that I must by another drink. I’m not one much for confrontation, so to abide by the rules, I order yet another drink which was again under par and therefore I felt warranted to refuse to tip a 3rd time and was immediately notified that because we did not tip this last time, we were not to be serviced at the bar the rest of the night. Now I’ve seen the owners of the bar respond that their staff are paid a certain wage and have their right to refuse service but this example of mine did not warrant the staffs rude attitude and unsatisfactory service. My group and I were so excited to try out this place for our bride’s bachelorette night out but unfortunately coming to this place out a damper on the night for a while.
Austin is seemingly short on designated dance spaces unfortunately. This place fills that need and then some. They are welcoming to all who are welcoming meaning if you aren’t there to contribute to the space in a positive way you’re not welcome. As a femme person it is incredibly important to have spaces where we can just BE - wild, uninhibited and free - without being preyed upon. Outer Heaven is indeed this kind of heaven.
Best place to dance in Austin. The DJ/owner is awesome, impeccable vibes. The first time I was there, there was a big group of frat boys wasting space on the dance floor—just standing with their drinks and not dancing. DJ stopped the music to make it clear that the dance floor was for dancing (there’s a ton of space outside and in the back for standing around and chilling!) I really appreciated it! I hate when there’s no room to dance because people are just standing around!
I asked for a margarita and they just filled a plastic glass with a frozen one, i said i would like one made by the bartenders and the girl said it’s ok the frozen one. As that was not enough they kicked me out because i did not leave the tip for the frozen margarita…as people come from other countries, they don’t know how tipping works, as the american people do not tip when they come to Italy, but we don’t kick people outside just because they did something wrong, WE EXPLAIN FIRST! To go back, as nobody was explaining me why i was kicked out, i was forced to tip 20$ for the first two frozen margarita i had earlier! I can surely say this is the worst club experience in my life! The tattooed girls in the bar should chill a little and be a little nicer…
The first place I always recommend whenever someone asks for a bar req. My absolute favorite bar in Austin. It’s hard to find a bar where I feel equally safe in my persons and in being able to throw it back. Great music ALWAYS and very much old Austin. Love the staff!
Outer Heaven is and remains my favorite bar, club, music scene, safe haven for when I venture out from my hermit hole. The vibes are immaculate, music is life changing (you ever heard Rain on Me remixed with Rasputin??), the community is REAL, and the anarchistic management is so refreshing. If you’re looking for a fight, go elsewhere, if you’re looking to have a good time and support everyone else having a good time, head on in.
This is one of the best and high energy places I have been to in my entire life! The staff are amazing and always make me feel welcome as well as the MUSIC there is no better music being played than in this spot right here!!! This is the best place to go to be your true authentic self and just dance the night away!!!
Will try to kick you out while they are still playing music after they over serve your friend. “I want to go home” is not a good excuse from employees when they actively are still playing music for people inside and we are trying to make sure our friend is okay.In response to the owner: This wasn’t a comment about the bar closing. It was a comment about human decency. We were out back, not causing any trouble. One person went in to get water for our friend that we were concerned about and we then had one of your employees chase us out. You still had people on the dance floor, which we took as a sign to wrap things up, but no rush. You should care about your patrons, not scream at them the second they are done paying for the night. An aside: look “honey”, I was the DD. There’s a difference between being out at 2 and being drunk. So maybe think before you speak. And maybe kindly ask your customers to leave instead of screaming them out the door for drinking water…For anyone who has a heart: our friend was fine, just tired. We mistook his tired behavior for drunk and were getting him water as a precaution.
Boogie or leave! OH is one of the few places a group of girlies can have a great night in Austin, affordably, without being surrounded by men in polo shirts. The owner isnt afraid to lose business in enforcing the no creeps policy--and thats why we love it! Everyone is always having so much fun because the music is great and the lurkers are promptly shown the door. OH is my favorite place to dance in the whole city--I always run into friends, make memories, a feel hopeful the Austin can still have places like this.
Love this inclusive club that prioritizes safety of its patrons. Amazing that it remains an unadulterated space free from sponsors, social media influencer vibes, and over-commercialization. Being able to go to a dance club environment while feeling safe to enjoy yourself and your friends, as a woman, is incredibly refreshing.
This place is the culture. Lived in Austin for almost three years now and this place is one of our faves. Amazing music and always a great crowd. Love how much the owner cares, worth following the IG, the posts are novellas.
The only bar in Austin!!Everyone here is the coolest and knows me by name at this points. Karaoke is the best. These guys really know Austin and how to keep it weird and politically correct.
One of my favorite spots in Austin and probably the best bar I’ve ever been to. Great music and dancing and affordable drinks. The staff is also super nice.
Solid karaoke place. They do it Tuesday - Thursdays. On Thursdays it can be a bit crowded but on the other two days, you can easily get 2-3 songs. Drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great.
Favorite place to dance in East Austin without a doubt. Never had a bad time at OH. Awesome music every time, reasonably priced drinks, and excellent vibes all around.
I love this place, great atmosphere and when they play good music the feeling is unmatched. Music varies, its okay, I wish there was more themed nights for 70s/80s music, any era honestly. Even more goth music. I went one time and it ruined my vibe when I heard newer music being played. Another time they did different eras of music, and I had the time of my life. So Im never really sure when a good time to go is. I like weird stuff, music that you can really feel and dance to.
Seriously the best little club in Austin. Reminds me of a small pre-pandemic Barbs but with a much cooler staff at the helm and way more lasers. They have their own style which is what keeps the real ones coming. If you don’t like it, walk back to Rainey or W 6th.
Ok so here me out——I’ve been in austin for 24 years and this is my favorite bar I’ve ever been to in Texas. Selfishly I would like to keep it a secret but the owners and staff are so amazing that I’m writing this review now. Let’s throw all our cash at these fantastic people who are actually helping keep austin weird and away from the management groups that are tying to make austin Dallas.Xoxo
One of my favorite bars for dancing!
I came here for a friends birthday a few summers ago and it’s been one of my favorite places since. The energy is electric, I feel safe, the music varies and there’s themed nights. Staff and atmosphere is accepting and welcoming. Anytime someone visits from out of town I take them her, and I’ve taken a few people here for their birthdays as well. I can’t recommend this place enough!
One-of-a-kind vibe. The owner puts a lot of love into the place. Very artistic spot, the venue becomes a dance club on the weekends, with unique and groovy remixed tunes crafted by the DJ. Karaoke is always fun on weeknights; the audience is standing right in front of you and it makes participation easier and a lot of fun. I feel like Im part of something when I go here. Great place to be social with a lot of people.
I used to love this place without a doubt but tonight, I had my worst karaoke experience. The DJ was skipping everyone over for ppl that paid him under the table or that he knew. I waited for a very long time only to find out I was still a long ways from singing. Just sad about the situation. Maybe next time will be better.
At first, was sort of let down upon discovering karaoke didnt start at 9pm, but the bar wasnt even open before hand. All of this was overlooked by the grand amount of volume overtaking both inside and out as night went on.The host got real busy. A song I requested was denied as someone else already picked it, however, the song never played. And I made a request for a different song, to be performed right at 12am, this too did NOT come to pass. Again, real busy.I got punched in the face by a really different spirit. A one of a kind spirit. God love her. Thanks, yall!
This is one of my favorite low key places in Austin to go dancing. The atmosphere is kind of hipster and a little dingy - everyone I’ve met here is keeping to themselves and here to enjoy the music.
Heaven on earth. Inclusive, funky, vibes af. The #1 nightlife recommendation i give my (cool) friends when they visit Austin. A guaranteed good time with nice, caring employees that are treated well - a rarity in life anywhere.
My favorite place to dance in Austin, and I’m a born & raised Austinite. It’s safe for all minorities and the DJ is SO good. Always a fun time!!!
I’m old now, but I love to stop in and dance. Champagne is cheap. Everyone is obviously welcome but the vibe isn’t deliberately obviously welcoming. It takes more than signs and signals. The vibe is hit the floor, get sweaty and have the time of your week/month/life.
10/10 bar. Keeping the true dance club vibe alive in Austin. The owner and his team are always upping their game.Dont come here if youre looking for a normal night.
Solid bar with great music and good vibes. What else can you really ask for? Especially considering the size it’s reliably one of the best spots to go out in Austin
My favorite bar in Austin. They have it all—a bumpin dance floor, karaoke nights, a back patio, original art. Love the staff too!
Does this place smell like an old laser tag venue? YesIs there a vending machine full of phallic plush toys? YesUs it often crowdy, sweaty and loud? Yes x3I love outer heavens but its best enjoyed in a group of 6+ so you can create your own conglomerate in the dance floor. Check out there karaoke on Thursday. The one time I went it wasnt packed and we all sang 2+ songs. This is not for a chill night out, go when you want to get your groove on.The bartenders are slammed but skilled and kind. I only wish they had a dance floor outside
Very rude DJ. Yelling and kicking out random people. Specifically said “I will literally fight anyone who is standing on the dance floor”. Clearly a great guy. Also didn’t play any disco. But who knows, maybe he’ll figure out what the buttons do and stop messing up the song transitions.
After living in Austin for 8 years and never wanting to go back to West, dirty, or Rainey, Outer Heaven is the one place I still look forward to going to. The best music, the best people, the most passionate owner, and great prices due to the owners mentality on keeping costs down for people to be able to come have fun. 5 stars!
This place is amazing. immaculate vibes, affordable, good for dancing or hanging out or karaoke or whatever it is you can imagine doing that is fun and good. once the plumbing broke and everyone was still having the time of their lives. the best people here, truly.
I got kicked out for tipping $3.75 on a $75 tab and I used $20 bill but they didn’t count that…. Terrible service and unethical practices bc they ended up charging me $14 tip in lieu of the 3.75…….
Best bar in Austin, if you dont like this place youre just boring and should go back to rainey where you belong. Music is so good, bartenders are friendly. The owner is an amazing person. Everything you see in the bar he did himself, more bars should be like this in Austin.
Not only my favorite bar in austin, but one of my favorite places period. every song is a banger, drinks are good, and the ambiance is unbeatable- it’s not one of the corporate bars on rainey or 6th. come for karaoke on the weeknights or dance your heart out on the weekends. the spirit of austin is kept alive by outer heaven.
Haven’t been here yet, but it’s on my list! 5 stars for the lols from the owner on IG. You’re a legend and can’t wait to boogie at this place. A friend from SD collective told me about it a while ago and I just moved here!
Consistently kind good people to hang and dance with. Owner is a gem. 💎
Beautiful spot, service from bartenders was stellar. I dont like being bombarded with political & deeply opinionated messages on converging topics on every wall while Im at a club though
Karaoke tue - thu, dance club on the weekends. Great contemporary/existential art on the walls. Best drink special is the bottle of sparkling wine.Cover is free on Fridays too! The patio is more chill if you need a dance break.
Outer Heaven is my go-to spot for dancing. Know that you WILL get sweaty, you will have a blast, and you’ll want to come back asap. The owner puts his blood, sweat, and tears into this place every single week and it shows. They aren’t shy about kicking out creeps, and as a woman without much muscle mass, I never feel unsafe here. Oh and the back patio is a chill place to rehydrate and recover.
As much as I would like to really like this place, there’s one thing that many people I know, including myself, have noticed at this bar that keeps me from doing so. Their drinks are VERY weak. I have watched bartenders prepare vodka tonics and they literally give you only a pony shot’s worth of well alcohol for $6, and if you get a well tequila it’s $7. If you’re not interested in buying drinks and only going there to dance, then it’s fine.
I love this place. It’s the last cool bar in Austin. Great prices and karaoke night is always a blast.
Literally my favorite place to go! As a women it can be hard to go out to the bars without being disrespected by men & at Outer Heaven they create a space to feel safe so you can absorb the music and vibes!❤️🔥
Best spot in town if you wanna dance and get weird. Also my favorite karaoke spot (weekdays). Not normy friendly, and that’s how it should be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I really love this place - SO much fun, however I plan on only visiting between 9 and 11 next time I go and heres why:1. Get there earlier if you actually want to dance. After 11, you become packed in like sardines and can barely move.2. They recently started charging a cover at 11, so get there earlier to save a few bucks.3. 11 is also around when a very long line started forming outside.4. This one could have just been the DJ who was there the last time I went, but he completely stopped playing disco and only played new music after that 11 cutoff time. This was the part I disliked the most, because we could always go to 6th street if we wanted to dance to new music - the disco part was what made this place different / more fun.Extra pro tip - either start or end your night next door at Circle Bar. It is a skeeball bar and is $5 for unlimited play for the night!
A place to dance, feel safe, and have a blast at karaoke. Lovely drink prices and amazing music.Bonus: the trash is always taken out
Took my friends to karaoke night and we had the best time of our life here. The next day we went again…sadly no karaoke but they played amazing music and even took our request. 10/10 would recommend 😁
Me and a group of friends went here to sing karaoke on the 4th of July! Best club in Austin for weekdays Karaoke and a slammin weekend party.
I meet new people every time Im here, which is the most I could ever in a million years ask of a bar.No idea what sort of magic happened with the ambience / personnel / affordable drinks / fog / lights / back yard with scattered cigarettes / heaters / trippy neon but the whole is so much more than the sum of these parts. The vibe here can only happen if the team strives for something more than fashion or pretense. Some buddies of mine dropped by and were trying to hit Rainey -- they did, I pulled them to this spot around midnight Friday and they didnt leave until 2:30. Saturday they only wanted to party here & all four of them are scheduling another visit to Austin with this bar as a centerpiece. Pretty magical...
By far the best spot to dance in Austin. The employees are like family to us. Douchebags stay away.
What a fun dance club, you feel welcome no matter your background. Drinks are cheap and the music is always unique and of course, dancy. Also love the back patio if you need a break.
A special place. I live in the area and couldn’t have asked for a better place to just dance my heart out. They do disco + veryyy interesting remixes of millennial hits (Aerosmith + daft punk?!) & have fun Simpsons art on the walls (among other visual gems) & the bartenders are pretty quick & nice. Live out your Donna summers dreams and meet new people, everyone is usually friendly. The patio has heaters too! Don’t bring a jacket, you’ll not want it when you’re dancing on the stage under the lights ✨💘
I’ve had to write and re-write this review multiple times to find the right words to explain how I felt this past Friday night at Outer HeavenIt’s like no other space in Austin.Come ready to dance and come as you are. Make a friend and embrace the disco ball.Karaoke - ThursdayDance - Friday/Saturday
Great disco bar, fun atmosphere, relaxed outside patio, excellent dj. The place is small, and the dance floor gets packed! Its an awesome experience
A great space with an eclectic, eccentric atmosphere that feels just as comfortable as it does weird. Drinks priced well, staff very friendly, and music like something out of your wildest disco dreams. Will be returning again and again.
This is hands down, the only bar in Austin Texas. From the howdy-do at the door to the Yallhoo at the bar, this is why clubs were invented. Never before have I received a spiritual awakening, and one-of-a-kind cocktail, three high-fives, a no-knock warrant, and a left-handed hangover from the same source in the same evening. 10/10 would bang again.
NOT a disco bar, I don’t believe I’ve ever heard disco music here unless it was staying alive remixed with Wiz Khalifa because DJ Earworm thinks they have the same BPM. I do enjoy the collective cringe of the crowd with each new song though, nice unity.
This place is great. The decor is awesome and the energy is really high on the dance floor. Awesome music too.
Most authentic place in Austin. The owner takes great care in curating every detail in this unique space. Love it all
Best party in Austin! Best bar crew, too. DJ spits fire. Art and lighting is bomb.
Love this place from the art to diverse group of people, the karaoke nights are chill and the tracks on Friday/Saturday nights are bangers.
Always one of our favorite bars in Austin! Music, drinks and vibes are fantastic.
We got kicked out for not tipping the correct amount. We spent 70.00 dollars and they made us throw away our drinks. The bouncer got aggressive and intimidated my colleagues.
Very authentic place to dance in Austin. Great music and great vibes all around.
Probably my favorite club in Austin. Very fun and weird and full of super dope and welcoming people. Also the owner is a badass.
Fun place to dance! Security will GLADLY kick out any creeps, which I always appreciate!! The decor is also fabulous.
The music was good and nice but the Dj was a disaster. Not two songs were alike. Staff is nice and drinks are no expensive. The place is quite small.
So glad to see they revamped Dozen Street! The layout is much more inviting, the aesthetic is fun, inclusive and mildly irreverent. Karaoke and unpretentious curations FTW!
Best late night dance club and so much more by far without question a real gem of a place and instant neighborhood & city institution. Better than best people. & vibe.
Its sweaty but youre glistening. Its loud but your body feels alive. The vibes are immaculate and I want more of it.
GREAT place. The music is bangin’. The staff is stylin’. And the artwork and lights and disco balls make this place seem like you’re on another planet. 10/10
Amazing staff, vibes, and a fun crowd
I like how that guy who runs it and DJs looks despondent while DJing really elevates the experience
Awesome place with awesome staff. Cool art throughout. Well priced drinks. Good music. Support a new bar and let loose for the post covid era.
Great music. Great management. They create a get environment to dance and have fun!
If you’re not at outer heaven something is wrong with you, staff is great drinks are on point an well priced especially with inflation going on if i could give it 10 stars I would
Great place and a rare ACTUAL dance club in Austin. Great vibe and great music.
Full of try-hard, ageing, balding millennials. Like 2014 Reddit distilled into a place. Smells as bad as youd expect. Avoid
Finally something out of the norm. A cute little place to be free and dance the night away. It gets hot in here so be prepared to dance shirtless.
Whoa! I shouldnt be going to clubs at my age, but it was a friends birthday. Great atmosphere, fun time
This is the only club in Austin!

Great place, lot of parking in the nearby, and most important very supportive crowd on karaoke.

I once saw Paris Hilton DJing here. Loves it.
Disappointed in the lack of disco at this disco club??? Looks like disco, has disco in the name, but so little actual disco….. less top40! More disco!
A dying breed of establishment. I wish there were more places like it.
