Wow! What a venue and staff! We hosted an event at the Avalon this past Friday and it truly was the best our company has ever thrown. We host a large meeting every January to kickoff the new year with our sales team and the Avalon was the perfect place and met all our needs. Mel, the events manager, was absolutely a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We had many changes and questions, some even very last minute, and Mel and her team were always quick to answer and help direct us to the best options to fit our needs. The production was amazing! Part of the package we got we were able to utilize all the screens they have and it was incredibly impressive. Their production team is top notch and also very accommodating to all our requests. The day of staff was super professional and took care of all our needs. The food was amazing and we got to meet the chef who you could tell was passionate about his craft. If you’re planning a meeting and want to wow your guests, I highly recommend the Avalon. Big thanks to Mel and her team for helping us pull off such a successful event. It will be hard to top next year and we will absolutely be back.
Ive been coming here since I was 19 & Im now 36 and manage djs. Last night 6/29 I managed Good Trouble at Avalon. Truly a wonderful experience. From entrance to the end of the night. I want to specifically thank Evan our rider & the security guard allowing people in and out of the dj booth I didnt catch his name but he wore Burberry cologne & truly a gentleman! These are the type of people that make me and other night club goers want to attend safe, happy & positive environments. Thank you 🫡
1 of 3 major edm clubs for me. I really like the layout of the venue and they have a great stage set up every time. I didnt try going to the second floor so not sure if thats some sort of VIP area. The only issue I have with Avalon is that it gets real hot! Regardless, I still plan to come back and you should too. Dress appropriately for the club/heat, bring a fan, and drink plenty of water. Favorite set Ive heard here has to be Reaper, hands down.
(Translated by Google)Everything is great! I was at the concert of the Russian group Splin on 11/19/2023. Everything was fine, the sound was good (I thought it would be very loud, but it was perfect). There are no questions about any external factors, everything is beautiful, clean and conveniently located. I have a couple of questions for the organizers or whoever is responsible for when people can be allowed in. Because it was indicated that the entrance would be open at 7:00pm, but they began to let us in much later, and there was a strong wind outside at that moment and people had to stand in line for a long time. If you are coming here for an event and the weather is cool, I advise you to dress warmly, because you may have to linger and stand outside.
Staff is always kind to me and my friends; I highly recommend this place. Just park 2 blocks down for cheaper parking; but it is nice walking out of the club, grabbing a hot dog, and right after eating it, your car is right there. Is it worth 30 bucks for parking though? Thats up to you to decide. To me, sometimes its worth it especially if youre the DD and your friends drink like mine do.
WARNING: FIND ANOTHER CLUB IF YOU EXPECT A CALM, PEACEFUL EXPERIENCE.We were deeply disappointed with our recent experience at the club. Unfortunately, we didnt even make it inside to see our favorite DJ, PvD. A discussion with security quickly escalated, and rather than resolving the issue calmly, the staff prevented my wife and me from entering. It was disheartening to see the entire staff, from management to security, handle the situation so poorly. Instead of listening to our feedback and addressing our concerns, they reacted aggressively, turning a manageable situation into a shouting match. This experience ruined our night, and we wont be returning. Its a shame that what could have been a great evening was completely spoiled by their lack of professionalism and customer service skills.
Love the space, bathrooms on both levels are nice, lots of exploration room, nice dance floor, cool VIP booths, good seating, great upper deck vibe/nosebleed seats view.I was there for a production day, not an event so my sound review wouldnt be accurate to a club night. But sounded good while I was there with 600 people. Good vibes I would think.
What and amazing venue! The acoustics were great. The architectural design a classic 1920s vibe, but also up dated with a state of the art visual and sound system.I had the opportunity to attend The Grammy Teen Concert produced BTMR ENT and RAW Nation which featured a number of upcoming talented young performers.I enjoyed all the groups, my favorite was the group Lyyonce Love the music was phenomenon as well as the dancers/choreography - Although they are just teens, they are definitely SUPERSTARS in the making. In terms of seating, there was ample seating, the bar had that classic 1920s design. Although, food is available, we did not try ordering. The facility has two Parking was good, as there is a parking lot adjacent to the building pricing is between $40 to $50 for VIPIt was a pleasure visiting the historic Hollywood Live-Music Venue.
First time at this venue and was kind of surprise about it because Im use to just go there after the nightclubs close and what can it be? 6 years ago since I visit that place and funny thing is first time I was sober and went there haha. However, fast to getting in and the service and bar wasnt bad.Only reason I went here was because it was my friends birthday and it was live band we checked it out.The drink was average price like most of the venues so nothing to complain about accept a great time! So you looking for chill place on a monday this is place to go but not to bring a date
Was here Saturday 2/11/23Honestly the coolest club experience Ive had. The crowd was super cool. Aside from a group of old people who kept acting like children and threw up multiple times on the floor. That aside, the layout is pretty damn cool, and so is the upstairs area.I would definitely come back here.
Beautiful details in the building, surprisingly spacious and the staff there are very attentive and keep the areas organized and tidy. Went for an emo nite, there were 5 djs and 3 bands that’s played.
Chill club. Its pretty big. Just 1 big dance floor. The stage and lighting are awesome. Security is really nice compared to other clubs.Parking is terrible. Every weekend is a different theme. They charge $40 to park in their lot. I found a parking structure 1 block south vine for $10, just a 5 min walk.
We used this place for our event and it was fantastic. Beautiful place with three bars downstairs. Beer is fairly expensive here so keep that in mind when ordering for yourself and others. The interior is fantastic with comfortable seating in the back and an excellent stage area. It was just perfect for our event.
Went to the Daisuke party first time here! The people at the front were hella cool! 1 of the security guards was super sick too! All in all had a blast!
Absolutely zero security checks at the door. I was there for the Noize MC concert and they had no metal detectors or bag checks whatsoever. People had large purses and even backpacks with them on the dance floor. Who knows what people inside had with them....
I like Avalon because of the space. Its not like Academy or Exchange with overcrowded dance floors, which I find so annoying. I hope Avalon continues to respect their max capacity. Besides the huge dance floor, there is an upstairs balcony with wide bench seating. Its a place to cool down, but you cant smoke up there. The girls restroom is on one side, and the guys restroom is on the other side. Theres a bar in the back lounge area; there are smaller bars on either side of the front dance floor. I like going to the back because there is more room and usually you can get your drink faster.Parking - Hollywood has some street parking spots. There is a lot nearby that attracts Avalon or Pantages patrons, but it can be $20-40. I would Uber. Even if you get dropped off on the other side of the street, there is a crosswalk that makes it safer.Music - It really depends on the night. I usually come here when they are hosting events. Theyve had events like Emo Nite, Netflix is a Joke, Taylor rave, Bollywood etc. Theyve had top DJs like Kaskade, Mitis, Nurko, etc.Tickets - Def buy tickets ahead if you want to go. If they happen to sell out, I think you can buy at the door (credit cards are accepted), but itll be marked way higher.
Had an amazing time with my 5 year old daughter, we were blessed to be able to attend Dhar Manns New movie premiere. The building is gorgeous, its a landmark worth stopping for... and the movie was a delight. In my daughters own words a dream come trueThank you to the cast and crew for memories thatll last a lifetime! And thank you Avalon for the gorgeous atmosphere and kind staff.
I love coming here for concerts of Ukrainian performers. Everything is organized! Bartenders are great, drinks are tasty. I recommend it.
This honestly became one of my favorite games to shoot at. Security was super respectful. And I literally had no issues. I’d definitely love to come back so if you’re a band that would like to hire me you can reach me on Instagram at:📷@Synthetic_Art or📷@Subatomic_HumanAlso, parking is a little pricey next-door but you can always find meter parking around the block. It’s Hollywood so i’d suggest to come earlier to get a great parking spot.
I’ve organized our event in Avalon and was so impressed with the management and staff! Their ability to go an extra mile to accommodate all our requests was incredible. And then the event went great, the space was clean, staff was above and beyond helpful. As the organizer and a guest - highly recommend
Venue is great except for (we went to emo nite) the sound system is muted and missing most of the mid range. Bass and treble are fine, but it ends up sounding like a bigger version of a car stereo from 1992. Really dampens the energy when your favorite bangers all sound like they’re being played through a pillow. Moved around the whole floor to see if there was a sweet spot but overall was pretty consistently bad.
Well, this one is definitely my favorite nightclub in LA. (I feel like I should mention from the very beginning, that I live in SF, and my clubbing standards are high. When in SF, make sure to check out Audio, Halcyon, 1015 Folsom, and The Midway (at least!). Now, to be honest with you, LA’s dance scene seems quite poor to me. And nevertheless...) I guess that practically all major EDM events take place here. The sound system is outstanding, and the space itself is very, very nice. If you’re really into electronic music and looking for a decent nightclub in LA, check out this one first. Also, you might find Sound on Las Palmas Ave somewhat cool, too. Both are worth visiting, and if we’re talking sound quality, you’ll enjoy them equally. However, I can say that the most interesting DJs would normally play at Avalon. Anyway, tastes differ (I’m all about progressive, minimal techno, and psytrance) so try out these two and decide for yourself... Okay, this is the most extensive review I’ve written so far so let’s wrap it up here. When I travel around the world and have just a few nights in one city, I have to rely on other people’s recommendations and reviews online, that’s why I’m so eager to help you make the right choice and be in the right place at the right time. Now, once you’ve checked out these two nightclubs, I’m pretty sure that you’ll become a regular either at Avalon or Sound. Have a GREAT night out!!!
We love bringing our clients over to Avalon to support the deep house, techno, and other musical performances in the area! Thank you for creating a ‘one of a kind’ space for everyone to connect and have a good time.
Security was super rude!We visited concert and after finishing at 9 pm we ordered our cocktails in hall. Security started to say : go out because next guests needs to come for next party. They pushed us to go out and didn’t let us finished our drinks. Then security took my drink and threw away.I was in shock. We wanted to stay for next party but they just pushed us out!
Apparently insomniac is running the place now? Anyways, venue was great! Sound system was great. Dance floor was good, plenty of bars to get drinks. Good experience
Don’t recommend this club at all,When you get there you will see why.The crowd are different than any other club.
Went here for Emo Nite! The only complaint was that they ended the event early. The ticket says the event ends at 5 a.m., but we were ushered out at 2 pm.
I saw Chloe, from Canada performing here. It was a beautiful night! For some reason, the female bathroom attendant asked if my roommate and I were lesbian, and dating... I dont know what her concerns were, or why it mattered, but no, were both straight mothers with kids!
The venue is so much better since the COVID happened. Usually fewer people, smoother entering. Good sound, not VIP only balcony.
This venue was AMAZING. First off I went to see AleXa and I had one of the best venue experiences there with how smoothly the concert went. At first from the outside youd think the venue isnt that big inside but as soon as you enter it opens up and it definitely surprises you with how much space there is on the floor and up on the balcony. I was on the floor right next to the stage and the whole atmosphere was atomic with AleXa slaying the stage and setting it on fire with her performance and dance crew (shout out to the dancers). If your favorite artist decides to perform at the AVALON then you should definitely go because the venue wont disappoint and if youre worried about the area then dont because its pretty nice all around and I had no problems so dont worry.
Nice music but! this placed is hacked with thiefs! We came a large group, boys and girls an 3 of us got our cellphone stolen out of our closed purse !!! such a disappointment! will never return
Better than Exchange & Academy LA for starters, I love that the dress code here is more lenient, and parking (when available) is located next to the venue. Entry (typically) can range from $0 (if RSVP) to $30. Multiple bars located on the first floor and the times that Ive gone the 2nd floor balcony can be accessed. The sound of the music is a lot better than other venues & clubs. You can also hear the mids rather than just loud bass. I believe they also have a bar & additional room on the 2nd floor playing random EDM. Drinks can be pricey like anywhere else in L.A., so pre-game if you can.Maybe its a contractual obligation, but I wish they would get more DJs that play at Exchange, Academy, & NovaSD. Other than that. Recommended 👍👍
I would say that its a great historic place I wont mention our company but we have had several events there and everytime Ive gone I see this little old Hispanic male drunk and nearly falling and just trying to stand still its such a shame I dont understand why he is still working there he clearly needs a A.A last time we seen him hit face first in front of his co workers and mines.
Yesterday my girlfriend and I visited this place for a concert. Its a very nice venue and the security is not as bothersome compared to many other places in Los Angeles:)
Excellent venue for seeing bands. Very unique setup for viewing the band from all sides. The sound system always sounds so damn good here too which is huge and something I dont take for granted anymore. Theres an easy to reach bar right behind the stage and several bars. Usually a DJ in adjacent area. School Nights on Monday night have some pretty amazing bands playing for free.I think this is one of LAs best smaller venues.
AVOID. I would give it zero stars if possible. The security guys were very rude when we arrived. They were extremely racist and actually were very close to legit physical harassment. Mind you I had been there for 20 seconds. One white guy tells me that he needs me standing in a line on the other side and I just stopped for 10 seconds to look at my phone so I can call my friends and another white man comes attacking me from behind and touching me to tell me to move. I would totally complain and do a lot more but they are not worth my time any more than this review.
Pretty cool venue. Nice size theater. Not too big not too small. My one gripe would be small food selection and I got VIP which was nice and rope and seats but was further back. I think I was expecting the best view in the house. All in all great venue with a great staff. The event I went for was a Bon Scott tribute. Dean Delray, Marc maron and bill burr did stand up comedy then they play Ac/dc songs. One the funnest and funniest nights I’ve had in recent memory. Although I’ve been told this venue tends to host more DJ and club type events.
Careful going to this place. The employees are all looking for ways to squeeze people for money. Not a very good thing to worry about when attempting to enjoy a fun night out.
My phone got stolen! before they have a lot of security around the dance floor, but when I need help I cant see anyone, maybe next time change to Academy LA or Exchange LA because their security are more helpful.
Avalon is my favorite hollywood venue to dance. Mainly because it has more space than other venues. Thats when all 3 floors are open though. Smaller events usually are limited to the bottom floor. Been coming here off and on for 16 years. Parking is safe and right across the street but expensive as usual.
Tribute to Bon Scott was amazing! What a band what a flipping All-Star band! Oh yeah the venue was pretty much 🔥. Staff was awesome friendly . Beautiful venue absolutely gorgeous.
Went for a press conference. Parking is cash only. Who carries cash nowadays. Go around the corner, $10 cheaper and they take card, tap to pay, everything.
I went to the Avalon during my west coast road trip. I called ahead to request bottle service and bottles were not overly expensive. It was definitely reasonable compared to other clubs. I received great service from management and staff. Since I was alone on my road trip, the staff and management tried their best to make me feel comfortable. I also met an aspiring actress here. Lol
Infected Mushroom xmas eve. Awesome show. Huge club. Great sound. Very strange crowd. Eighty percent Chinese. Kind of a reverse take on the Jewish Christmas tradition (more so because IM are Israeli). We were in a nich by stage right. There was a garbage can behind the proscenium. Chinese girls kept going there to throw up. Old drunk Chinese guys kept trying to break into clumps of young dancing Chinese girls to dance with them. Kind of creepy. Lots of smoking in the VIP lounges next to the dance floor. Anyway, had a great time and would go back again.
Absolutely LOVE this classic (and classy) venue! The layout is fantastic, the views are amazing, staff - including security - friendly and professional, the sound system is top-notch. I would have given 5 stars were it not for the super powerful and annoying-bordering-on-damaging LIGHTS BEING BLASTED into the audience/onto the floor! Club people - please stop this! Direct your lights off the floor and out of patrons eyes PLEASE. Otherwise, an amazing experience!
I went on a Saturday night for House music. There were 4 dance areas, 4 different sets of Djs. Smoking patio upstairs too. The main room has the headliners, but the openers had low energy sets, which is fine if there were no other options. However, the other 3 areas seem to be competing with each other, so they are playing high energy House & Techno and kind of hard to stay in the main room with the openers when the party is popping in the other 3 spots. Anyways, lots of options for dancing, great vibes from everyone, didnt encounter any drama. Cover was only $20 too. Will be back!!
I went here for a concert last night. The fact they kept their fog machine pumping out so much that it was hard to see the group was incredibly frustrating. The light design was also meant for a club night, not a concert. All pictures and videos turned out bad because you can barely see them through the fog.Might be good for other events, but turn that fog machine off and get a better light designer for concerts. People like to see the group clearly, not struggle to see them through a cloud. Also, the ADA accessibility definitely needs work.As much as I want to see some other groups, I can’t see myself going back here for another concert since the one last night was so dark and foggy. Just overall disappointed.
What people dont know is this is also a Venue to hold events. We have worked with them for a few years now, doing multiple big events, and we have really enjoyed the experience. The staff there is amazing! So kind and so on top of it. They will care about your event and making it a success.
Nice bar and dabce floor. The second floor seating is cool.
Attended the Smith/Morrissey convention. The inside venue architecture was incredible. It has multiple bars, auditorium with cool lighting, sound and fixtures. Second level has a spot for karaoke and a room next to it for clubbing music. The decor represented a modern vibe. Stunning location.
Came here to celebrate a bday. But your tickets in advanced. It’s free before 10:30pm. Tickets online is $10.50. Link to buy tickets will be closed day of, and will cost ya $25 at the door.
Best club experience ever and they have 6 bars and quality alcohol
Staff is rude and unaccomodating. venue is small, not at all what i expected. i’m currently here at the concert i bought tickets to and there’s no organization whatsoever. will not be returning. paid $160 to have the same seats as the people that paid $50? lol what was the point then 🧐
Good place to enjoy music, concerts and drinks at a good price.
I went here for an EDM concert on a Saturday night. And this place is a really big venue! Theres two parts to this venue. The upstairs has brighter lights and seems to be more of a lounge/bar area. There was a DJ there with a small dance area and some benches. Downstairs had a much bigger area with plenty of dancing space and a large stage for a DJ to play music. Its a lot darker there with fun lights.
This club is cool, I have gone multiple times to this club but this last time a group of thieves stole my girls phone out of her closed (zipper) purse. The police that are on the side didn’t really didn’t react fast enough either. It was for a gasolina reggaetón theme night. Ladies be very careful, we think it was a female who stole it or a group of them and one of the police officers that night said they had taken around 20 phones. There were many girls reporting their phones were stolen around the same time as well. I don’t know if I will ever feel comfortable to go back to this club again. Maybe these thieves are targeting busy spots like this to hit as many people as they can. We will need to find a safer better managed spot to go out for a couple good drinks and dance. This used to be a good place but obviously the security team have let their guard way down.
I haven’t been at Avalon for clubbing for awhile but occasionally attend concerts at this venue. Solid place with good sound and gorgeous balconies. Staff was friendly and professional, I appreciate it a lot. Drinks are reasonably priced and well made. Good place to have a night out.
The venue is incredibly spacious. Drinks are the usual prices they would be at any other club. The employees are kind and don’t take any bs. Anyone causing issues or gets kicked out quickly.Great place to dance. Music is good and I always felt safe!
Great little venue that holds about 1200 people. Plenty of bars, great sound and some comfy seating.
Went to Bardot for some live music. Really cute intimate vibes. Can’t wait to go again.
I dont remember my first time at Avalon since I was so high. For the second visit I went to ARTBAT event and it was something great. I believe they had a reconstruction and the sounds system was amazing. The dance floor is spacious and the drinks were decent.
Can someone turn on the air conditioner? Also John o Callaghan rules
Among the oldest club still around. Therefor a budget place for a table or bottle.Pro: very spacious, easy staff as long as tipsCon: Everything is not mentioned.
They get good acts if youre into EDM, tickets are either free (before 11, if you RSVP) or cheap (usually under 50). Dedicated parking lot is nice. Bathrooms are clean, and rather large. Good sound system, large stage, stage lighting and display are pretty good. The drinks are expensive for the amount you get, they serve it in flimsy plastic cups. Decent alcohol well. Not the best table service, but its okay. The floor gets really sticky. If youre going for an EDM act bring a fan it gets hot. If I could give 3.5 I would. But Ive mostly had good experiences here so I rounded up.
While other clubs in LA havent aged as well, Avalon has not changed. I remember when this place was called the Palace. Still the great club it always has been in terms of staff and cleanliness. Compared to Exchange and Academy I would say Avalon still feels the same as it did when Sander van Doorn played here in 2010. The original and first afterhours club in LA has not faded.
Real nice venue, very classy.
Nice place but on a friday night it was almost empty. Music was not good. Some locals said it used to be good but not anymore. It was ok in general. Bartenders cheers you with lots of alcohol in your drink tho thats a good plus
Place was pretty nice. Good lighting and sound. Great places to enjoy yourself. Drinks were a bit expensive (5$ water bottle) but hey so are the gas prices. Right?!. I went this past Saturday and saw Lil Jon.. definitely had fun.
It was a fun night. The place was pretty crowded
Intriguing architecture and a classic LA venue. Not well ventilated.Good acoustics and seating/viewing.Small floor space to dance but you cant expect much more from a club.Great shows.
NYE experience was different from what I expected. The crowd was not what I expected—people dressed in pajamas, sweat pants, and tennis shoes or crocks. The ridiculous price ($170 per head) was not worth it since it only included unlimited drinks that stopped at 2:00 am without the club advertising people about this. The DJ Markus Schulz was excellent, and this is the reason I give it 3 stars because if it were not for his performance, I would have 1 star this place.
Very private for the VIP section with your own private bar and you get to sit and see your friends , singers , actors and Record Label Execs. Dj plays near you and what’s very awesome is that you never know who’s going to pop in….We are on the upper level stage area and there are couches very clean and round tables where Music execs or music mgmt sets up drinks and va bottles . Great VIP Parking too. Love the Red Carpet Display. Love Gasolina Party Love to see upcoming Star “LoKoVy “singer as he performs his DEMBOW Music ..
Watch out for the bartenders manipulating the tip on the check. My expectations werent high, its a Hollywood club, but even still the service was worse than expected. I left a small tip for a single drink I had. I guess the bartenders felt that committing fraud was easier than providing better service to begin with. Watch out on your credit card statement ladies and gents, theyre dishonest.
Its simple. Avalon is the best venue around here, hands down. They have the best crowd, good vibes, and the LCD installations were the best in town even almost a decade before Academy existed.
Love This Nightclub been Playing Here and Going to Shows Here For Years! Hollywood Staple
This place is a fantastic venue. It always blows me away no matter the event. Ive been a decent amount of times and I always find something new! Spacious and well organized!
Ive been here twice in the past. Its fun with freinds. Cover fee was like $20 and the outside line has a wait. Check online deals for discounted admission tickets. Just come before 12 midnight. Its open until like 5 am but they stop to sell alcoholic drinks at 2 am.The venue is very big. The big room on 1st floor has the main DJ and lights and people dancing. They also have a few rooms upstairs with an smoking lounge. DJ music. The crowd is diverse, some young teens and older adults, couples. The vibe overall is good.
This was a fun place to go where everyone in a group could likely find a place to enjoy themselves. With 3 different dance areas with different music, you could choose what looked most fun. Multiple different bars, seating areas and more. They played good music and had a fun atmosphere. The cover was $12 when I went, but I would recommend a visit!
I always have the best time here for all sorts of events. It’s stunning!!! I wish the drinks were a taddd more affordable, but the bartenders are great and vibes are immaculate.
Avalon has a beautiful interior. Carpeted halls, marble facade, wood dance floor, 2nd floor viewing balcony, multiple bars. Rsvp shows. Parking next door ranges from $20-40.
Nice layout, good clean restrooms, the only downfall is the parking, the one near the club costs 40$ 😐 I parked on the street, it was free on a weeknight.
It is a nice nightclub, I have been here once in 2016. From what I remember, the ambiance was quite friendly. There were plenty of space to sit down and enjoy the drink. Of course, the entrance fee was high, and the drinks were on expensive side. Still, I had a good experience, I might visit again, when I have more time.
Honestly I think its my favorite club in Hollywood/la. Decent size, plenty of bars and an awesome aesthetic. Used to be an opera hour or a play house which gives it a very unique vibe. Sound system is also great but you have to be dead center of the dance floor which can suck if its too crowded but hard to have perfect sound everywhere so thats that. Beyond that the acts make the club, I enjoy the booking but thats all personal opinion
It is a great nightclub, located in Hollywood! I have been here several times. However, it was in 2016. The ambiance, from what I remember, was great. The staff was friendly, and polite. The drinks, though, were on the expensive side. Still, I do not regret spending money and time here. I have positive memories. Definitely, next time, when I am in Hollywood, I might visit this lounge again!
Avalon literally reeled us in with the promise they’d be open until 6am, and kicked us all out at 1am (before other bars even closed 😂) what a joke! The one star is for Matt who’s the sweetest bartender ever. I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking to party in the Hollywood area, unless you’re down for $8 white claws
If youre going to a music event, keep in mind that it will most likely be crowded, and expect the unexpected! We paid $5 for a small bottle of water! Plus, the bartender asked for a tip! When my husband asked for just a cap of water, they told him they didnt have to give it to him! Its in the law! Next, if someone in your company requests a bottle of water, you should oblige! Its not only money!
I saw the Rolling Stones here, emceed by Dean Martin, in 1966. This Theatre was called The Hollywood Palace and the TV show of the same name. In the 70s to the 90s it was always called The Palace. KROQ did many Shows here. I also Saw Ronald & Nancy Regan here on a taping of the Merv Griffin Show in 1975 ! Also saw Howard Stern here in 1991.
Have t been there for a few years. Great going back for a music conference. Fond memories. Always loved it. Still do. Amazing mult-tierd venue in the heart of old Hollywood.
Fantastic interior. Clean, and air-conditioned. Drinks were pricey. Entrance fee was $15 and on top of that, $10 for a teeny cup of cranberry vodka. Bartender was a sweetheart however. The demographic was mainly gays. They have 4 male strippers on stage. The music they played on this Thursday night was generic pop music. From my observation, it was most enjoyable for groups of 4-5 individuals.
Its an old school theater. Not my favorite, but in all honesty Ive only been there for dance parties. Maybe its more suited for concerts. It isnt a very big venue but the bathrooms are nice. The old school carpet needs to goInsta/TikTok: @AllMuscleJock
I wish this place was better. I have been here mostly for School Night on Mondays and its a cool venue but it is not meant for concerts. It gets incredibly crowded and very few people can squeeze down to actually see the show. If you want to come and just hang with music in the background then the upstairs area is great- but its not ideal for concerts.
Can say enough good things about this venue! Excellent production set up all around! Super friendly and efficient staff. Very clean facilities plenty of bars inside, 2 floors plus there is an alley on the right side for any smokers or just to take some fresh air!
Came here out of happenstance (found myself in an EDM event)Entry was around $25, security seemed laid back. They did not enforce a dress code. Came in wearing baseball hat, t shirt, jeans & vans. This place has 2 floors. Second floor was a small area playing random Edm music. Multiple bars with 3 just on the first floor. DRINKS ARE PRICEY. All in all it was a great experience. DEFINITELY would come back here again if they host EDM on Sundays or Tuesdays. Lol
Beautiful venue, horrible problem of pickpockets. Dont go unless you are 100% sure you wont be able to get pickpocketed. Management was not very helpful at all. People do not get patted down at the door, and overall unsafe.
Very clean and well established place. The bathrooms are actually really nice for once, and the dance floor is clean for the most part. You can either chill on the floor or take a seat at above the stage and watch the show. Great music and good vibes.
The people at the door were rude and extremely disorganized. The man who was checking IDs didn’t even pat anyone down or check bags before entry.
THE BEST SOUND EVER, seriously... AWESOME VISUALS! Love the classic Hollywood look, rich decor, friendly staff and great drinks! My friend and I are married and went out for a club night, we felt comfortable and there no idiots who would assume that every girl is out to get trashed. Great place, will be back for sure.
If you are looking for a spacious place to continue to dance to EDM music to - this is your place. The crowd is eclectic at best but more are in a trance so you wont be bother. The $25 cover at the door seems excessive but the clean bathrooms & well working air conditioner will help you justify. Its an experience all ravers must do at least once
What an incredible venue for a concert. We specifically came up from San Diego to see one of our favorite artists perform here and we werent disappointed.Tip - If you dont mind standing, try to get up on the second level next to the sound booth. You wont have anyone blocking your view of the stage and will have a little more breathing room than if you were down on the first floor trying to get to the very front. The couches are also a really nice touch. Good to take a break on but not obtrusive in anyway.
Love this place. Been going here for 3 years now. The whole staff is efficient. and there is no waiting lines. The place is always buzzing. Also Jackie is the best bartender here.
Has after hours thats why its so expensive. One of the few after hours thats advertised (for obvious reasons) and SO many men. The ratio is all off. Im a woman and arrived around 2am on a Saturday. Huge line. Crazy cover fee. And was approached by several men immediately I had to say Im sorry Im just trying to dance and enjoy the music with my friends and they were relentless. Just a grimey feeling despite the beautiful venue! This place is not worth it at all for after hours I bet during regular hours the place is great. Ive been to way more inviting and peaceful underground after hours and this was men being pushy and the drinks were weak to boot
Watch out for your phones and wallets!!!!People come here just to pick pocket, the first time I came here someone stole my phone out of my bag and sold it to someone in Mexico! I’ve spoke to so many people that have had this happen to them due to this venue. Last night I was there but this time I wAnted to prove that we weren’t crazy. I held my phone on my hands the whole time while doing do a man litterally tried to take it in a way that was so disgustingly clever. I ran over to security to let him know what was happening and he immediately said show me who they are as if he gets this every night. The security pocket checked all through you guys and found 3 phones in each of their pockets. Literally 1 hour later while watching the stage i witnessed a guys hand in my purse, pushed him and demanded him to give back what he took. Luckily I had my phone in my hands still but I’ve never been so violated in my entire life. Thieves thrive here and I know someone that works here is in on this because I’ve never seen so many people loose their belongings in one night. Let alone for it to happen almost every night
Nice club. Very big. 2 levels. Not my kind of music, but the dj was creative and he kept the crowd moving. I appreciated the visual effects. Parking wasnt difficult. I parked on street behind club for free (read signs), though there are paid lots beside venue.
I was here for a friend. Her brother had his 19 yr old birthday party here. Its an 18+ nightclub. The music is great. The drinks are heavy handed and pricey. But all in all it wasnt a bad experience. If Im gonna go to an 18+ club Id rather check out something else though. Or not even venture that way.
The most arrogant, disrespectful, degrading bald man with glass works at the front of the door. He made us so uncomfortable and tries to be little people. Made all the women uncomfortable. We hid behind our friends. He sounded like an absolute crazy person. I’ve been to tons of nightclubs around the world. This one has to have hired the worst staff. Period. It’s truthfully humiliating a company wants someone like that to represent them. The djs are good and stage. But I won’t go back to be treated like that. Ever. Period.
It was my first time going to this bar/dance club. It was kinda cool for the music it was retro and fun. The drinks were far expensive I got two rum and cokes the bartender gave us two small cups made the drinks then said that would be 20 buck. Well I am only going for the music not for drinks or food.
Best venue in Los Angeles! Love going to shows here. Staff and security are respectful. Great prices on tickets and tons of space to dance/move around! Cant wait to go back once its open!
The waiters are bad like no joke bad and this was teen night so its crazy because they make money of the drinks they sell. My debit card had so many transactions because they double charged and one even had a horrible attitude. The manager is really cool do but the waiters rob you sorry to say. I love this place but iam going to have to drink before going now.
Very good venue. Not too much room taken by table service BS. Many bars. Great smoking area.
First night in LA. My friends and I were told this was a good place to check out. So we booked a table and got a couple bottles for the night. I have to say it was some of the best service Ive experienced at a club of its size and capacity. We were escorted to the front upon arrival, showed to our table, and was regularly checked up on throughout the night. Joseph (not sure his proper title) as well as the security staff, made very sure that my first night in LA was a great experience.
Simple, if you want a great place to party all night long and love electronic music? Then this is the place to be on a Sat night. Plenty of room to dance all night long. I come here all the time and always an epic night. And did I mention they are open from 10p to 7am. Booom. Good times.
Beautiful venue but too big, you kinda feel lost easily. Bartenders are very low class and drinks are overpriced. Crowd is full of old people and music is awful, just really the very same beat all time.
I’m a regular here, and for good reason. The staff is caring and considerate.I’ve seen people really lose themselves inside and instead of calling the police or an ambulance they take time to allow the party goer to collect themselves.I’ve worked as a bouncer before and I must say that this practice goes above and beyond expectations.Trust me when I say that it is a safe place to let loose. It is definitely my preferred night-out venue. After the main club closes at 2, BARDOT opens upstairs and allows you to continue partying until 6am. There are not many establishments set up in this manor which makes this club a gem.I highly recommend.
Great spot to catch a live DJ set or electronica performance. The architecture of the building is so elegant and theres multiple rooms to wander through and see what else is going on. Load up on drinks down the street first, though... this place is a prime example of clubs charging absurd amounts for cocktails.
I was upstairs for a locals show. Super nice venue. Good sound mixing. Nice lighting. Mega expensive drinks though. Thats LA prices though I guess. I paid $8 for a racer 5. $10 for a cocktail in a plastic cup.
Was there for the Hollywood Beer and Music Festival. Super dope venue with plenty of rooms to wonder around to. The acoustics in both the main and second stages are amazing. They really did do a great job renovating the historic building built back in 1927.
Went there for a kpop group VAV the venue is gorgeous. They have ample amount of space. They have a lower level area and a upper level area. They have a good size stage for the people whom are being focused on. They have a bar so you can get your drink of choice if you are of age. If not they still have sodas that you can get. Cool part it has stars on the sidewalks.
This club can be a little tricky to get in to if you come real late because it gets really crowded but when you do get in the long lines are well worth the wait because its a ton of fun. They play all sorts of music and its a great place to meet friends and have a few drinks.
Need to change room because big gap on the entry door, noisy and cold.Pool music loud in middle of the night without any guest outside. I had to go downstairs to tell the employee. No sleep at all. Worst hotel experience.
You get different sized drinks depending what bar in the venue you go to. Ultimately ripped off. Make sure you pack some drinks in your purse fs
Probably my favorite club in LA. The main stage is wide and roomy, they have multiple stages, the staff is courteous, drinks are reasonably priced, and they have a cool smoking room patio(when they actually open it). They also open another room and bar upstairs that doesn’t close till 7am! There’s a really cool promoter that works named Nik. They are what other nightclubs should strive to be.
We paid for admission but when we got there we decided to upgrade to VIP. Instead of getting the GA payment refunded we were charged for both.. .. we ended up getting a table and bottle …as we were in the VIP section I told my host I had to run to the bathroom. My husband and I left to the restroom and when we came back our bottle was gone! Literally missing. We asked security if they took it and they said no. The staff didn’t know where it was either so in other words someone stole it! Lol never again.
Saturday night and not even full, whats going on?Charges a different entry price if you pay by card? Whats that about? Are we in LA or are we in 1996 Paris?Might want to review your strategy
Spacious venue with GREAT sound system. Ive been to clubs in confined spaces where the music literally deafens you but the music at Avalon had good harmonics it doesnt hurt your ears so much.
They’ve got an extremely bad problem with pick pockets (there are signs warning people in the bathroom). Someone stole my phone from a zippered pocket and also stole at least 4 other phones from people around me when I was there. Be sure to keep your phone very secure when you’re there.
Came here with my father, stepmother and wifey. We werent sure what to expect as it was our first time here but we had a great night. The entertainment was...well.... entertaining to say the least.Great close up magic and a fun night. Drinks were nice too. Appetizers were a bit skimpy but thats really the only thing I have to complain about. We had a great night, were comfortable and well entertained.
Beautiful inside. Parking around the area is expensive. Saw Daniel Johnston here. Lots of rooms to go to get away from the noise. Nice VIP areas. Drinks are too expensive and the selection is lacking. Overall, worth seeing a show or clubbing.
This is such a cool historic building! They used to host the Oscars here and they have pictures all over showing off the history. I was able to walk around and enjoy the fact that Jerry Lewis and Lucille Ball and the Rat Pack all partied here!
I was there on a regular Saturday night. It is a place itself was great. The quality of the music was extraordinary. The sound as well as the light show were as good as it gets. The same holds for special effects and additional efforts (girl posing at the entrance, guy in costume who entertains the people). What I did not really like was the crowd. Since I was told that this is supposed to be an upscale place, I put on black pants and a white shirt (in order not to do anything wrong). I felt way overdressed. They let enter some guys with sweaters and even heats. At the tables there were some 53 guys with way too many muscles and tattoos - in underwear-like shirts. If those guys wanted to enter my place, I would rather call the police to search them for drugs instead of letting them enter. And the number of hotties could be counted at two hands (an maybe 3 or 4 toes). To the guys that did not get in: if you didnt get in, you probably deserved not to enter any club (unless you are a group of more than 5 guys - for you it will be hard to enter any club). The doormen were definetely not selective enough - and really nice.Summing up: great location, the crowd was rather casual than upscale. A lot of people will like it.
The venue was great, service great, the promoters excellent the fights were all even better but the $25.00 for parking right next to the venue was such a rip off. My friend has a handicap placer and they had no handicap parking spots at all.
I love this venue, but parking can be terrible. The lot next door charges 20$ so make sure to carpool! Inside is very nice and clean. If you can, check out upstairs. It has an awesome view of everything!
I cant think of a cooler more intimate place to see a performance! On top of that the ambiance is spectacular. I would recommend checking it out whenever you can, but especially on Monday nights for School Night!
Avalon has a solid sound system, unique ambiance, and a lot of history behind it! The vibes/crowd is great and the venue is just beautiful. Ive been coming for about a decade and it is definitely an integral part of LA.
Always awesome music on the Thursdays that Tigerheat is hosting👌 Tons of space in this two story club, with creative decor for special events. You can even dance on the stage behind the DJ! Only problem, if it wasnt for the entrance security, I would give Avalon a full 5 stars. Some of them are disrespectful for no apparent reason.
Really organized staff and the bartenders were amazing! All staff did a great job! Venue and bathrooms were clean too.
Avalon will forever be my favorite LA club. The lighting, the vibe, the history, and the staff. Absolutely wonderful professionals who take incredible care to make the experience unforgettable. You truly fall in love with Avalon every event!
I love coming here on Monday nights! They have an event called Its a School Night every week. Its a free show for 21+ and something like $5 for 18-20.I have seen Ben Folds there before (for free), Lady Danville and Hunter hunted each a couple times. Last night I went and saw Hudson Taylor, and they were amazing! Great venue, great sound! As far as being SMOKEY, its NOT anymore! They are not allowing smoking in the venue anymore, I saw a couple times when the security guard came and told then to put it out. Makes the venue way better!Cant beat a free show!
Cool place to hang out and have a drink. The bar is connected to the Avalon so can get crowded when there is an event. A few different rooms with comfortable seating and friendly staff.
One of the best clubs in L.A I have seen countless of my favorite artists as well as had the pleasure of performing at this venue. definitely one of my favorite spots. Never disappoints and all staff are amazing.
This place is ok. Saw to many fights break out and drunk people. Theres really no dress code and they DO NOT CHECK PEOPLE AT THE DOOR. Didnt really feel comfortable. I give it 3 stars only because the DJs I went to see were awesome.
Id have to start off by saying this is just not my scene. Bands that no one really watches regardless of if theyre good or not (the only saving grace being yes, the majority of the bands are quite good), borderline incompetent barkeep (well bourbon on the rocks needed an explanation?), and a bunch of people eying each other like its a middle school dance. The open roof is cool though.
I like this place good for relax after day
Mondays for School Night at Bardot is my weekend. Its a night for live music, drinks and meeting new people. Right above the Avalon, Bardot is a modern whole in the wall speakeasy on Hollywood & Vine, right in front of Capitol Records. There are two bars, one in the lounge and one behind the stage. With an open roof, guests can smoke indoors while seeing the Capitol Records building in the smoggy LA night sky. All the bands that play there are always the ones that are about to make it big, so expect to hear of the artists again on blogs and the radio soon after! Bardot has a young Hollywood ambiance, so its a great bar to go drink, dance, and see a few familiar faces in the crowd. One of my favorite spots in Bardot is the balcony where everyone goes to have a smoke between sets, and where people are open to chatting. My very first night there was an incredible experience, and every Monday night there just feels better. Definitely my favorite hangout place in Hollywood!
Ive heard many things about Bardot and was unfortunately let down. The drinks are under poured into glasses that can be compared to what you would get in a dentists waiting room. I ordered 2 and got hit with a tab of $36.I dont mind paying for a quality drink in a venue that is worth it, but the building is falling apart, and the libations are trash. The one thing I can say, is that the live music was entertaining.
This my second time coming and let me say its fun and all. But my two friends got really sick from drinking an adios. This happened to me a year ago and just from me witnessing my friends getting sick happening to them worried me. We will not be coming here again. Its a good club but I dont know whats going on with there drinks.
Very fun environment, love the drinks they are strong which is a good thing since most of the drinks are $16 bucks. I would recommend this club.
Ray Romano was on stage that night. I think i became part of his act in an an awkward professional moment. It was a good night. we catered some really nice looking and great tasting organic and fresh products that night.
Did my first DJ performance there and went there for the first time! Love the dancing rooms and space no matter how packed it got! Crowd is very nice and staff is strict when they need to be
