Knot Detective Massage

I love Knot Detective! I’ve had a few massages there with a few masseuses and enjoyed every single one. Most recently I saw Chalice who was amazing, I went in there feeling so tight and sore and left feeling comfy and refreshed. Perfect amount of pressure and she got everywhere I needed it most. Can’t wait for my next one.

I have been twice now. Both times the front desk is very friendly! (I feel terrible for not knowing her name) And Michelle is super personable and makes me feel better when I leave. 10/10 would recommend!

One, if not THE best massage I had in Austin! Anneliese was incredible, the right amount of pressure at all times, it was therapeutic and relaxing at once.I will definitely go back again.Highly recommended!!

Chalice is the BESTTTTTT!!!! When I tell you she gets the areas you didn’t even know was an issue or was even a muscle. I fuss and try to fight with her but she wins every time and I still schedule my future appointments…faithfully! Please schedule an appointment with her ASAP. Honestly, you should have been scheduled. You won’t regret it and your body will thank you!

Best massage Ive ever had; after only an hour, my shoulders felt better than they had in a decade, and their pandemic procedures had me feeling very safe the whole way through. Front desk was delightful, the atmosphere was so cozy and comfortable, and Katie was wonderfully charming and thorough. I had an unexpected adrenaline attack toward the end (which I didnt even know could happen! my fault for not realizing my own limits, especially after a year in quarantine), and she kept me very calm and treated me wonderfully through it, even sending me home with hot tea (delicious, I have a new favorite) and salts to make sure Id be alright. Cannot wait to go back for another massage.

I LOVE coming to Katie to get my super tight shoulders and back fixed! She charges so little for how awesome she is. I am an aerialist and came to her for the first time after I injured my shoulder, and she fixed it so quickly I was able to get back into the studio within two days. She has magic hands! I try to see her regularly now for tune-ups to keep my muscles happy since I work them so hard. I have NO reservations in recommending Katie!

I had heard great things about Knot Detectives from several when I tried to make an appointment in early 2019. I couldnt get an appointment because they were all taken, a good sign. But I needed help for what I later found to be a torn rotator cuff and a hip that needed to be replaced. Ouch. I couldnt wait so went elsewhere but kept checking back until finally, probably due to the pandemic, I was able to get in sometime in late 2020 after I had my hip replaced. I made an appointment with Barbara Cooper. She helped me so much after my hip surgery and then through back surgery, the torn rotator cuff and, unfortunately, she will help me soon as I go through a revision to my hip surgery. I never understood that a great massage therapist could help in the long-term! Even with crumbled discs and a nerve that floated outside of my spinal cord, because of Barbara, my pain, stiffness and range if motion improved as I awaited an MRI and then surgery. I am so grateful to Barbara for so much. Her weekly massages have helped me move when without them, I wouldnt have. She listens to whats going on, asks important questions which lead to a better understanding of what I need. I believe that I have healed faster than I would have healed without her. I really like the office staff who are also kind, caring and informative. Vanessa is smart as a whip, engaging, kind and caring. Sam is great, attentive and funny. I feel lucky to have finally gotten in to see someone at Knot Detective. While I have used only 1 massage therapist there, I heard great things about the owner, Katie. Now I understand that she hires the best and has built a great team. This isnt a spa experience. I am not sure that my spa massages, of which I have had many, ever offered me the week to week healing and long-term improvement that I found here. I dont miss the extraneous spa stuff and I certainly dont miss the spa prices. I get loads more here. I wont ever go anywhere else. I have highly recommended Knot Detective to many. Barbara says that all the therapists great. I believe her. My quality of life has greatly improved thanks to this wonderful place! I highly recommend Knot Detective to all, especially to everyone looking for a relaxing, healing experience with down to earth staff and therapists who know their stuff!

I love everyone here. I started going when they were off of Spicewood and their new location is so much better! I started getting acupuncture here and I am obsessed with it. The last time I got a massage, Chalice was amazing. Please go see her. You cant really go wrong with anyone you see here though.

I have had many many massages in my life and Katie is by far the VERY BEST I have ever had. I dont usually go in for your run of the mill feel good massage even though she is terrific at that. I get a massage for physical therapy. I have been in multiple car accidents and suffer from osteoarthritis and the relief that she brings me is amazing. I schedule her every 2 weeks. If I could go every day, I would! Her prices are very reasonable. I would recommend her to anyone needing a massage of all kinds.

Katie is fantastic! She really knows her stuff and is great at creating a relaxing experience while delivering an exceptional deep tissue sports massage. Shes kept me going through training for several half marathons and a 19 mile Grand Canyon trek. Cant recommend Katie enough!

Katie is by far the best massage therapist I have ever had. As a dancer I tend to be very sore and have lots of tight muscles, Katie is always able to alleviate my complaints. I would highly recommend Katie as she is very knowledgeable about what she does and cares about her clients.

Absolutely the best massage therapist my wife and I have ever used. We have been going to Katy for years and never hesitated to give her name to any friend or family looking for massage. She listens to what is bothering you, but has a sixth sense about getting right to the muscles you didnt even know were causing you problems. Please go, just not too often so we can still get in.

Throughout my travels over the years, Ive been to A LOT of massage therapists for muscle soreness and outright pain from all of my years of athletics. Katie is one of the BEST Ive ever worked with! Ive been to a lot of pain specialists and therapists, tested for all kinds of conditions, and nothing has provided me the relief that has come from focused stretching, ART, and Katie. Shes been working with me for over a year now and I cant imagine going more than a month without her help. If she ever stops working, Ill probably wither away!

Katie is absolutely the most skilled massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure of working on my knots! She is able and willing to adapt the pressure used to fit whatever circumstance is occurring. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Katie is easily the best massage therapist to ever lay hands on me. She will undo knots you didnt even know existed. And shes funny too! I recently moved out of state, and have unfortunately been unable to find a suitable replacement for Katies skill and whimsical charm.

At fifty-years-old and never having had a massage before, I was literally terrified by the thought of my first massage, especially because of the amount of pain I was experiencing in my hip. I had been carrying around lidocaine cream in my purse for months and not sleeping because the pain woke me up any time I rolled over. The massage was a gift, but I didnt want anybody touching my hip.I was told Id feel relaxed and soothed by everybody I knew, which I did, but mostly I felt healed. My hip (and my neck) immediately had a range of motion I believed was long gone. I was able to cross my leg to tie my shoe. I could look for traffic in the next lane without turning my entire torso. It was amazing!Chris was incredible. She moved so fluidly and consistently I was unable to tell where exactly she was positioned around the massage table. It was as if she was suspended above me. I never felt or heard when she got more massage oil. The music selection helped me relax and played most of my favorites.I dont even live in Austin, but I plan to visit regularly from Houston and make Knot Detective visits part of my life routine. I highly recommend. I cant believe I waited fifty years!

I like a hard, deep tissue, practically-a-Rolfing style of massage, and Ive never had anyone as G*R*E*A*T as Katie in my whole 55 years of experience. She is a true healer, and if you request it, she will reposition all your me scales, and it will feel good while she does it. She is an actual professional in a town of amateurs.

Theres so many great compliments to give this place. Ive been going for almost two years now and I will not go to any other place. Katie is the Michael Jordan of massages. If there is a hall of fame shell be inducted.

If you have never had a massage before I highly recommend visiting Katie at Knot Detective Massage. I was uncertain of massages and so I avoided them. Then a Chiropractor prescribed a medical massage. Now I am a regular. It has changed the way that approach training and general well being.I have competed in triathlon for 20 years. In 2015 I finally won my first triathlon - right here in Austin, Tx. It was the first year that I completed a season injury free. It was the first year that I got regular massage treatment - from Katie. This was not a co-incidence.If you are an endurance athlete - go visit the Knot Detective! Trust me - it works!

Barbara took away the pain in my shoulder, it has been throbbing for two weeks. Very professional & she knew exactly what she was doing, soft spoken, also knowledgeable.The receptionist was also very nice, & extremely helpful. I am so blessed to find this professional, extremely clean establishment.

OH. EM. GEE. That is all I can say about the massage quality from Knot Detective Massage. I put my body through quite a bit of stress from being a daytime desk jockey and an evening aerial instructor and competitor. Sprinkle in bootcamp attendance and long distance running in between it all and Im in need of a good massage on a regular basis. Katie Cullys ability to take what I verbally identify as pain points and trace it to the source is almost magical. I wont lie, this is not a spa day massage. You will be breathing hard, sweating, and cursing at her but after shes done youll feel the most amazing release in your life.

Knot Detective is amazing!!!! I had a massage with Rynice and she was amazing. Shes a true knot detective! Much of the pain I had going in was gone and I also felt relaxed after as well.

Trust your healing to Natasha Renee. The acupuncture treatment I received provided stress relief and an energizing feeling beyond what I expected. To be honest I wasnt sure what to expect. I saw Natasha for Acupuncture and it was fabulous. She helped me with my allergies during times of high cedar and mold. My monthly moon cycle was regulated and feelings of pain and depression were relieved. I would highly recommend her and this treatment for any type of healing that you may need.

Katie is one of the most technical, but also intuitive massage therapists that I have ever been to. Im really picky about who I let massage me, and Knot Detective is a place that Id recommend without hesitation.

Dalanda is phenomenal! Very effective at loosening knots while also making the experience extremely relaxing and not at all painful. I keep falling asleep during my massages!

Natasha is the best! Even after endometriosis surgery the only thing that offered any pain relief was her treatment. My overall health has improved. I will definitely go back for continued treatments.
