Good venue, good service. Employees and security may seem really stern about some things but theyre just doing their job which I cant complain about. Good venue for raves too!
Awesome blend of indoor and outdoor music venue. Plenty of room for medium sized show with an intimate feel. There is a lower and upper level, and they even thought about putting bathrooms on the top floor! Staff is friendly and very eye catching. My only complaint is the fact that you almost pay Vegas prices ($$$) for drinks, a double shot is over $15(!) and you can definitely get cheaper drinks pretty much anywhere else on Dirty Sixth. Great for a show though!
This place is amazing. Great vibe and they bring in some Great artist. We were there to see a local artist NGage_Official, we have followed him to shows in Kansas and Dallas and he never disappoints, but to see him in The Venue ATX was incredible! This place is so spacious, and so clean, the people working there were so pleasant even while dealing with a large crowed. Definitely a place I would recommend and if you like Dub Step EDM music check out NGage.
Rooftop bars nice sounds. They dont have their own parking lot. You will either have to park it on the street or the parking lot around it that can cost up to $28 - $30 depending on the lot per 3 hours.
My experience on March 4th night Holi party wasnt great. Entry and door staff were good but the security guard (Dark bearded caucasian) at the toilets was outright nasty. I was sober and I properly observed his behaviour with me and others.I informed staff including this guy about the spillages and cans on the floor twice but instead of getting someone to clear it, he threatened to kick me and my friends out. I had to move away from that area for the rest of the night to avoid both.Things to work on:- Better customer service- Cleanliness and safety
This is hard to review as its a venue-rental space. Kinda like north door, this is not a bar that is open all the time, its depending on the event that is happening there at the time.DO NOT go here if its raining, its open air.That said, the Venue (with the most incredibly creative name Ive ever heard, ha!) is a nice venue. There is a dance floor-like area on the base level and really great surrounding patio area up-stairs. The lighting is a sexy-fun-dim light.The bartenders in my experience were INCREDIBLY slow to make drinks. (Ive been there a few times.) So, there is usually a line to get drinks. If you get a beer and pay cash, you can expedite your transaction, however, the person in front of you will order 3 cocktails which will take FOREVER.

This is a really nice and interesting small, intimate venue for concerts and other similar events. The problem is that it is an open air facility, which does not lend itself well to Texas in the summer. The concert I attended was on the hottest day in Austin since 2011, and it was so hot that at least one person needed medical attention during the event. This would have been an ideal place for a concert in the spring or fall, or maybe even a mild winter day. Its kind of a tough sell for the summer though.
They told us to be there at 6:30 for a show that didnt start till 8. We paid about 600 for a VIP couch that held 6-8 people. The couch was 3 boards lined up against the wall. The way they had them sectioned barely held 4 of us comfortably. I will admit that we are bigger girls though.... Do not waste money on VIP. The best seats are the free ones. And those fold out chairs are way more comfortable than the planks they laid out for us to sit on. This venue is a joke. The show was D+ and thats being generous. The best parts lasted about 20min total. This place is not worth paying for. They should be paying you to show up, in my opinion.
Phenomenal dance space laid out beautifully for the decibel-indulgent. I was inches from the Glitch Mobs incredible DJ set most recently and the surrounding upstairs balcony is just right. Not a bad spot in the house, seats and couches lining every wall making for extra comfy setting even up close to the stage. Drinks are as expected, its dirty sixth after all. But this is why I love Austin. Up close, live, in concert. Beautiful.
Recently played there with Grupo Ladeira and it is a really cool venue with open air settings, Upstairs and downstairs. They do have a a bar available and I really enjoyed how they encouraged hydration with the heat.

The Venue is THE Venue. It’s a great place for a live show. Open layout with a cool upstairs viewing cat-walk, and great service! The bartenders were charismatic, and made the experience that much better! Management and security obviously work hard to maintain a safe and great atmosphere. I will be recommending this place to all my friends!
Absolutely love this place! It’s a bit of a hidden gem there on 6th. But when you walk in, what a cool atmosphere and layout of the space! It’s really nice, killer sound system, great drinks, and a spectacular rooftop bar! I’ve been there just to pop in for some cocktails as well as hosting an event there with my company. The management and staff are fabulous to work with - very accommodating, flexible, and creative. They are also just genuinely good people - we have worked together on events benefiting nonprofits, and they’re always trying to find more ways to show support of the community. Highly recommend this place!

My favorite spot to go on weekends. One of the best venues in the town. Fabulous DJ line ups and headliners every weekend. And being EDM fan, i just cannot hate this place even if i try. Staff is super energetic and takes good care of you.
The DJ were not good. The music as was for a lounge.. I wanted to dance to high energy EDM.. it was sleepy town. I do want to add the venue was beautiful. The upstairs lounge area was great. Your bartenders are top notch.. I had a great bartender all night.. ..music was just a bit to mellow .. for me.. But to each there own.
Unbelievably friendly staff - the bartender and sound guy were a pleasure to work with. Our band sounded great and The Venue is top notch as far as professional sound and professional looks. Everyone in the audience was comfortable and the place has a great flow for social events. Can’t wait to play here again or see other concerts here!
Great sound and wonderful artists here. Waiters are really friendly. I didnt like the atmosphere, too weird people. Also, I think its a local too focused on VIP áreas. The dance floor is small, because is sorrounded by these áreas. Finally, I have to say that some bouncers were rude when they asked people for leaving the roof área, because It was only for VIPS. Thats mainly why I give them 3 stars.
Went by for an AirOtic show , the place was nice enough for it , the young bartenders female & male were awesome, after the show there was such an amazing DJ’s , I had a great time and drinks !
Great place for dancing to live music with an outdoor stage and 2 levels. So theres a balcony deck overlooking the stage. Not a bad place in the house.
Employees Steal!When I first moved to Austin I was a regular at shows here, about once a month—it’s the only house to bass music. After the shoddy sound system blew out my ear drum and sent me to urgent care I still went back. I finally decided not to support them after too many awful experiences with the bartenders. They will throw random, high priced numbers at you if you’re paying cash and pocket it. I learned very quickly to call them out on their “miscalculations” but continued to watch them take advantage of other patrons and laugh to one another about it. I tried to reach out to the venue about my experiences but I never got a response. I choose not to condone awful behavior like this.
I am really disappointed with the staff of the venue. This is our 4th time there and every single time we have been there isnt nothing but harassment and honestly I feel targeted. From telling us to put out our smokes, but yet everyone else is smoking right in front us. To taking our juice cart from us and scanning our tickets so fast we dont even have the option to walk back to the car to put them away. At this point I feel like you owe me a replacement for my juice cart that your front door staff decide to keep and smoke from.
Nice venue but security staff can be very rude, especially at closing time. Would be nice to give ppl at least 10 mins to exit before starting to scream and push ppl out
You must have to be past your 30s to be treated with some respect here. Absolutely do NOT recommend, I went to a private event here 11.23.19 and all of the employees were awful. One of my friends was standing by the bar and got picked up by a man and a lady with glasses and was kicked out, when he and I both asked what the reason was they simply said “you know why, stop asking”, we asked multiple times and no legitimate reason was ever given. I went to the bathroom at one point in the night and the same lady employee with glasses was making a girl walk in a straight line almost like a DUI exam but she was perfectly fine prior and just sitting there with her friends. I was absolutely disgusted by the treatment of their employees with the people attending the event. Never planning anything here again.
Its fine. Its a venue. Honestly would give four stars, but with the weather like it has been, not having the fans on that blew onto the crowd was not great. They had a room to cool off in, at least.
I will never come back to this place again. First off, I paid to see a show with my girlfriend before hand online. Once we arrived, they stuck us in a corner table where we couldn’t see or hear the music. They said “You can upgrade to “VIP” for $25 a person” and I had 3 people with me and there was another couple that tagged along. I decided to pay for my 3 people which I was told it was going to be $75 dollars but I was charged $98 dollars instead because of “taxes and fees”. It took the waiters/waitresses a good 45 minutes until they even checked up on us to see what we wanted to drink. Keep in mind after we already paid $98 on top of $30 in tickets for VIP. My girlfriend ended up buying one drink and the tab came out to be $19. Are your serious?... the waitress came by MAYBE 2 times to check in on us throughout the night and we were VIP. The sound was not even close to where it should’ve been with such good DJs performing along with unprofessional staff that would not only never check on us, also would get on stage in front of the DJ and record them on their own person phone. Overall the night turned from a $15 dollar night to a $150 dollar night and I only ordered one drink for me and my girlfriend. It was definitely not worth the money and is obviously a scam to take peoples money for a subpar venue. There’s way better venues out there that actually care about their customers! DONT SETTLE FOR THIS ONE!
Absolutely the best hidden gem on 6th street for special events. They have a beautiful space with an amazing view of the downtown Austin skyline. The staff is always super friendly and the bartenders really know how to make some great cocktails. Highly recommend The Venue for your private events!
This space and concept is beautiful. However, I have a feeling the management needs an entire makeover after my experience. I went for a Silent Disco. They posted on the Facebook page about a giveaway and said they would announce a winner Friday at noon. They never announced a winner even after several guests followed up about it. This is disloyal and sketchy promotion. I was one of the first to arrive that evening and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom or soap. The toilet also didn’t have a full handle! It was a little nub. They never posted on the FB event that it would be outside so people could prepare for weather and it’s January. It was freezing. Overall, I do not trust this venue and the basic human needs like soap and toilet paper were not available.
When my husband and I first discovered the Venue we were so excited. We are huge EDM fans and the venue itself is spacious and great for dancing. We used to look forward to going there and taking our friends.However, this past Saturday night (3/27) showed their true colors. We are not new to the club scene. We know clubs over charge and need to make money to make a profit. We walked around 6th street and waited until after 1:10am because they had let us in the past several times without having to pay a cover charge.We were in a group of 5, but they were charging $40 per person or a bit cheaper if we paid in cash. Even though this was clearly a scam, I had no problem with it because I wanted to show my friends a good time so I paid $120. My husband on the other hand was drunk but more so upset because he has been scammed before at other places (ex. letting others of different races go in free and then charging us). After we went in, he asked a group of people who came in after us if they had to pay or if they were on the guest list/VIP. They said no, so obviously my husband got more upset. When we got in the security accused him of pushing another patron which was NOT TRUE AT ALL (we have multiple witnesses). He was then kicked out. They were going to let the rest of us stay and enjoy but eventually they demanded that we all leave. We were not even there for 5 minutes.I was able to ask if it would be possible to get my money back to the very kind manager, Rich, who said he may be able to but it would be tricky because I had paid in cash (clearly another scam). The company who collects the cover charge is separate from the Venue so he would have to ask them. I also explained that a few of us believed there was a racial component to this because half of us were Asians and there were no other Asians in the club. Rich kindly explained that the owner is Indian and that is not the case. He gave me his card so I could email him.I emailed Rich the morning after and he explained the money would not be refundable because my husband was aggressive to the ticketing staff - then why wouldn’t they refund the rest of our tickets? The Venue staff was also aggressive with us as well. I’ve accepted that but I had to give it a shot.I then called the Venue itself and was able to speak to the owner. The owner was incredibly rude and condescending. He got unreasonably defensive when I brought up race which is a common response when there is some truth to it. He then accused me of threatening him after I said I didn’t want this to escalate to the point of having my lawyer get involved. He said there is no point to this conversation and said it was over. I apologized and said I am just trying to make a compromise. In my personal opinion, an owner of a large establishment should be more mature and professional than this.I understand the loss of my money, but the way this was handled was immature, unprofessional and another clear example of nightlife establishments scamming people who just want to have fun.
Really neat spot to catch a show! Love the multilevel outdoor layout of the venue right in city center. The actual theater/auditorium was small enough to feel cozy, but big enough to still dance around.
The venue was outdoors, which was nice, but it was humid. The company was great, the music was great and the drinks were great!
All around a 5 star experience with The Venue ATX. As a musician, it is rare when the sound is great and the staff is friendly and sociable. The sound/booth guy, Jonathan, is very knowledgable and it was fun to work with him. The bouncer, manager, bartenders were all professionals. The rooftop views of Red River and 6th street are great. Very spacious and comfortable venue with lots of nooks to chill. Their social media and marketing team are very active and went the extra mile to promote the TMMP event. Cant wait to play here again! ✌️
Poor experience. Empty VIP areas taking up space, smallish bathroom with a broken toilet, aggressive security. Might not be reflective of other nights but it didnt make me want to go back.Up side, the bar staff was great. Fast, friendly, and professional.
Has some excellent edm shows. Make sure you rsvp to get into the show for free. $10 at the door if you dont. Drink prices are inconsistent at times.
The GA VIP area has a few seats and a great view of the stage, plus a couple of restrooms and a bar. Good views of the Austin skyline too. Ill be back when they have shows that I like.
Great places to host a huge party at. The decor went very well with the venue. We had a very good time on the rooftop and took all of beautiful pictures with Austin downtown in the background.
This is probably the dopest open air venue or venue in town overall. Huge space perfect for headliner events and shows. Sound system is badass and when they have a big show they turn it up by bringing in even bigger sound!!! Rain is not an issue either as they can also accommodate in case of that also with a new roof cover. Theyre a fairly new venue and working on making it better and better bit by bit. Excited for whats in store for future events! 🔥🔥🔥

I cannot rave enough about this new live music venue in the heart of Downtown Austin! The staff, management are all so respectful and fun and the musicians ALL love playing there! The Venue ATX will soon be the number one BEST place to play in ATX!
Really cool venue for events, especially with the heaters this winter. That said, it is not at all accessible for anyone who cant climb stairs. You cant get to any of the upper portions of the venue.

Turn off the fans during comedy sets please. When i saw the drink prices i thought i must be in an airplane or at a disney resort. Automatically adding a tip onto already over inflated prices for credit card purchases is a shifty sixth street technique, f this place
Horrible experience here. At the end of the night, we went to close out. Come to find out they had GIVEN OUR ID AND CREDIT CARD TO SOMEONE ELSE! They closed out someones else tab on my credit card for hundreds of dollars over what we had ordered. They claimed they would refund my card but after a week and a half and trying to communicate with the managers they have done nothing to resolve this.I cannot believe that the mistake even happens in the first place, but the fact that those in charge are doing nothing to rectify it is absolutely unacceptable.
Like many venues on 6th street, this place is pretty small. The GA section was crammed in a corner where only the first row of bodies could even see the stage, and the tables were blocking everything. Nobody was even using them. The area in between the very front of the stage and the GA was a VIP section apparently, so that was kind of frustrating, and there were at least 3 different VIP sections that seemed a bit like overkill, since so few people were even there. A bit frustrated, but hopefully events like the one I went to will be different when the pandemic dies down more.
Excellent sound and sound man, friendly staff, very clean bar and bathrooms, original music from Austin artists. This place is great for hearing real Austin music and a great place to hang. Love Venue ATX!
I will never visit The Venue again and I urge others not to as well to save yourselves from complete humiliation and the utmost disrespect! I was there last night 9.21.19 with some friends and one of my friends who happened to be black was brutally forced out because he appeared to be drunk. He was sitting on the floor and was simply laughing at something I said and leaned his back against the floor. A few minutes later, one of their employees told him he had to leave because another female co-worker told him he was too drunk. They never let us talk and when my friend went to close out his tab and get water, the guy with the pink hair snatched the cup out of his hand, threw it on the floor, and with the help of a couple of other guys, they forced my friend out of the bar - my friend was bleeding from the impact. Under no circumstances EVER should you treat your paying customers that way. The owner of the bar was not helpful, concerned, or apologetic for the distasteful actions of his staff that he has representing his company. They should all be ashamed of themselves!
This place is really cool. Went to a Lanza haircare training at The Venue and it was a nice place. Clean bathrooms and friendly waitstaff. Not much shade in the daytime, but still very cool.

Drinks here are way too overpriced, the sound system is only good if you’re right in front of the stage, the staff is hit or miss, and I’ve known many people who’ve had overall negative experiences here. I will not be returning to an event here.

Every time I come here I feel harassed honestly over it. It’s okay. It annoys me that the headliners play for only the last hour… I came to see them… give the headliners at least a 90 min set. Also drinks are very expensive.

This is an outdoor venue in TEXAS. Yall dont have nearly enough fans in the building and none of the existing ones are running at shows. Literally a patron safety hazard, without drinking involved.

Went for the first time last month for live band karaoke! They dont do it anymore, but it was still a great venue. We hope to come back for another concert!
Small area. Bar tenders dont know how to make a Blue Hawaiian, Liquid Marijuana, nor a long island tea. Liberally googled them. Kicked out of the upstairs restroom because it is closed for a reason when there was no sign or anything.
First time coming. Refreshing setup compared to the norm, good sound, several spots throughout to hangout and enjoy the scenery/DJ.Definitely will be back.

Visited at SXSW 2023.Its an open-air box, so its very open.The view of Austins skyscrapers from the second floor is especially spectacular. There is a big bouncer (so-called bouncer) outside, so you can enjoy the atmosphere as well as the feeling of a box only known to those in the know.Be careful when it rains.
