Just had a massage with Cristina! It was amazing! I fell asleep twice!! So relaxing!! Exactly what I needed! Highly recommend the spa! Great, calm place!

I have been coming to Balans for a couple of years above. I appreciate the commitment to all natural organic products. A big highlight is my esthetician Marisol. She is thorough, knowledgeable, and very sweet. My massage therapist Christina is incredible for her knowledge of lymphatic drainage.All the staff are very professional and caring.I always feel relaxed and taken care of when I visit.

I had a surprise spa day today & started with a deep tissue massage with Cristina - it was absolutely AMAZING, she got into allll of the knots I didn’t even know I had & felt so great after!! Followed by the best facial with Ashley who talked with me about my skin, products and got me looking nice! I swear I looked photoshopped after, my skin looked so good! Andrea at the front was so nice & attentive from beginning to end, which added to the entire experience. Great ambiance, people, and experience! One happy momma on her day off ☺️✨

Had a deep tissue massage with Cristina Fortes. By FAR the BEST deep tissue massage in my entire life. She is incredibly strong and uses her hands and arms perfectly to absolutely hit all the points. I will come back, and I will recommend her to everyone. Simply amazing.

What a gem of a spa! Tranquil environment, wonderful services. Ive always wanted to try something like the flotation tank and I found it incredibly relaxing! (Pro tip -- be sure you *really* insert the earplugs well; I was a little sloppy with one of them, and ended up with a bit of water that caused crackling inside one ear for about a week...) I also had a wonderful massage and algae body wrap. At the end of my visit, my skin was amazingly soft and I was amazingly relaxed.

The spa is a delight. Cristina’s lymphatic massage was absolutely fabulous!!! I had heard that lymphatic massages are not particularly nice to receive but that the benefits are wonderful. But not only am I having a lot less inflammation and a sense of levity in my body but the message itself felt so relaxing and releasing. She is excellent. I highly recommend it!

Cristina was my masseuse and Ive never gotten a deep tissue massage at a spa before (only physical therapy) and I left not wanting to lift a finger for the rest of the day, my body was so relaxed! Shes also the sweetest masseuse Ive ever encountered, I would recommend her to all my friends.

We were there to celebrate a birthday. It was an amazing experience and staff was so nice and accommodating. I had a massage session with Cristina. She was amazing! Even though I was talking her ears off almost the entire time, she had me so relaxed at one point, I was drooling!

I wanted to try out a spa on my latest visit to Boston and it was amazing! The atmosphere is very calming and all the staff are excellent. I highly recommend the full body treatment and detox with Christina Foster. I will be coming back to this spa on my next visit for sure.

Prior to starting, he asked about my areas of discomfort as well as preferences toward my desired level of pressure and checked in often. His massage was seamless and professional. I have been a client of Balans for over 13 years and cannot recommend postural therapy and body work with Marie any more highly. There is no one better in the city of Boston, and I would also say nationally. She has seen me through everything from pregnancies to marathons, and the normal day to day. I leave her feeling an inch taller and emotionally reset and re-energized.

Balans is a terrific spa - excellent location, environment, and people. The Maria Åkerberg skincare line feels amazing - theres total transparency about the ingredients and its good for you and for the planet. I had an excellent facial with Ruth and terrific customer service and hospitality with Maura. I also enjoyed an excellent float before my treatment in their sensory deprivation tank. I loved the private suite but note that a little bit light gets into the tank atmosphere because it has a clear door (which is different than most other float suites).

I just got a prenatal massage and it was incredible! Cristina was amazing and really knew where my pain points are!!!! I cant wait to come back.. highly recommend

Ashley was super knowledgable and helped recommend specific products for my skin type that I could incorporate into my skincare routine without being pushy or making me feel like I needed to buy something. The 60-minute facial treatment was great and all of the staff I encountered at Balans were extremely friendly and welcoming. My only critique is the music track and ceilings could use a slight update for more of a relaxing ambiance (considering how much people are probably looking up at the ceiling from time to time).Will definitely be back again soon!

I cant recommend Maries posture therapy highly enough. Shes extremely knowledgeable, tailors your treatment to what you need, and gives you tools to continue your therapy at home. The next day, I feel more limber and open.

Balans is a fantastic spa--great environment and really conveniently located. Every staff member Ive interacted with is great but Laila really stands out. Her work is phenomenal (Ive gone to her for both a facial and bikini waxes) and her company is even better--she is so kind, gentle, and lovely to be around. Absolutely would recommend this spa to anyone!

I got a gift card for a facial for my birthday and couldn’t stop coming back! I book my appointments with Marisol and she is so kind, calm, and a wonderful esthetician— I always leave feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated. Also worth mentioning I have sensitive skin and they’re so great about tailoring the products they use to your skin type! I’ve never had any bad skin reaction after an appointment. Would recommend her 10/10!

I’ve received several massages at Balans and always had a seamless experience from start to finish; however a couple’s massage appointment I had booked a month ago was cancelled for no reason whatsoever (BOTH of them were suddenly unavailable), no apology offered, and when I gently asked for an explanation was told they called me multiple times and left voicemails - of which I have no history of. Super unprofessional. Will be looking for another spa.

There are many luxury spas in Back Bay but Balans Organic Spa excels. Of particular note was the massage. I’ve have been getting massages for over 20 years, and seriously, the massage I received from Lucas was by far the very best.

I was lucky enough to have been gifted the “ultimate relaxation” package for my birthday, and even luckier to have been matched with Kristen my first time here. She was extremely knowledgeable in our consultation and very easy to talk to. The massage was one of the best in recent memories and while I’m fairly new to the facial game, it flowed seamlessly from the massage and was delightful. The float afterwards was the cherry on top, and Kristen even found me after to apply extra product that I enjoyed using during the facial. Would recommend and will be going back soon!

Very good massage by Lucas, he asked how my body felt walking in and after I explained, his response is “i know what to do!” This has to be my best massage in a long time, as he addressed all my achy and tight areas . I highly recommend Lucas massage therapist. I’m from Chicago visiting so it will be awhile before I make it back here; but I will !

I wanted a refund for my gift card because the esthetician I use to see no longer works at Balans. There’s no way I’d be supporting this kind of spa especially with the turnover they have of employees. Clearly it’s not a positive work environment and the prices are ridiculous for what you’re getting. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re looking for a high quality facial.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Balans! I had a 60 minute classic organic facial with Kristen. She was knowledgeable and had magic hands!!! My skin is very sensitive and the products were incredibly soothing and nourishing for my skin! After my facial, I had the loveliest conversation with Marie about wellness! I cant wait for my next visit!

The front desk was extremely rude when I asked to book an appointment with Dazirae, who is the main reason the salon won best of Boston for facials this year. The owner is extremely shady and does not treat her employees well. The environment in the salon is tense and the employees are visibly under watch by the extremely overbearing manager. Overall uncomfortable vibe created by the owner of the spa. They lost three of their best employees last month and Balans Organic Spa is no longer worth the astronomical price tag because of that. Spend your money at the numerous other places that offer the same services in a better environment.

I was visiting from out of town, and booked a massage with Natalie. I don’t usually write reviews, but she deserves one. It was the BEST, BEST, BEST massage I have ever had in my life! When my husband asked why I thought that, the only thing I could think to say was “her skill.” I have had massages in some of the most wonderful spas in America and I can honestly say this was the best. Too bad Boston is so far from Houston, but I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Always an excellent experience at Balans. This spa really offers the whole package: friendly and warm staff who are eager to assist clients and answer questions, beautifully clean and bright rooms, and incredible services. On my latest visit I had a facial with Kaylee that exceeded my expectations. Not only was she friendly and attentive, but she was very knowledgeable; able to suggest a simple skincare routine that would suit my acne-prone skins needs. I felt so relaxed and at ease throughout the facial. My mother had a session in the float room and said it was absolutely heavenly. Cannot recommend Balans enough!!

This is my favorite spa in Boston (and outside) for sure! Its beautiful, elegant and incredibly professional. I come here for facials and massages, and I also love the products. I have only great things to say about Balans, it is truly a unique gem in Boston. Everything from the interior design to the friendly and warm staff makes stepping in there from busy Newbury street a wonderful, relaxing and luxurious experience. Andrea is just amazing, her facials and body treatments are the best I have ever had and I will continue to go to her for as long as I possibly can. Absolutely making Balans part of my wellness routine. The setting is intimate and very comfortable -- especially the rocking chairs. The neighborhood itself (Back Bay) is a cultural experience in itself. The Staff is welcoming, pleasant, and patient. Lucas, my massage therapist, worked the heck out of my problem areas! AND an OMG, YESSS! to the flotation room -- this experience should be in every spa. Alas, it is not. So work your way to Balans. You will Not be disappointed. A must visit!

This spa is really lovely! I just visited for the first time today for a massage. The environment is warm and welcoming, the staff are very sweet and friendly, and the massage I received was on the better end of others I have had.My few issues with my experience were that I booked a massage with one person in particular, based on a recommendation I had received, and received a confirmation from the spa including this massage therapists name. When I arrived, however, I was greeted by and given a massage by someone else. She did a lovely job and this was not at all her fault, but I was bothered by not only the change in provider but the lack of notice to me, given that I had specifically requested someone else. I also had to wait several minutes past my appointment time before I was brought back into the massage room, but then the massage still wrapped up at the scheduled end time (not a big difference, admittedly, but a slight annoyance). Would certainly recommend and will be back if I am in the area.

10/10 would recommend. I planned my sisters bachelorette party here and it was everything we were looking for and more. The staff were incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming, and they all took special care during these difficult times to make our party feel extra special. My sister even received a little gift at the end. There were 7 of us in total and we were all treated with the utmost care and respect. Our mother joined us for this part of the party and I especially loved and appreciated how well they treated her, whos never had a facial or massage in her life. Suffice it to say that they made 7 new customers. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to relax after a long pandemic, looking for a fun day out with the girls, or just trying to do something fun for themselves.

Couldnt recommend this place enough!We spontaneously booked a treatment, rushed in from Newbury street and immediately felt relaxed and comfortable in this lovely spa.We booked a 30 minutes massage and the flotation therapy, both exceeded our expectations. We were even treated exceptionally personal as it was my friends birthday!The staff is super friendly, treatments very professional, products are good for you and the environment and the atmosphere is calming.Without a doubt a gem which well visit again.

The massages were great but the receptionist was 1) not nice 2) problematic about my add on that I ordered when scheduling a meeting (finally the masseuse did not have a problem to stay with me 15 minutes longer so why to make a problem?) 3) added extra payment to our bill because one of us finished the massage after 4PM in reality, the persons massage was scheduled from 3 to 4 and he actually left the room a few minutes before 4 so... Thanks God I saw it and argued over it. She returned the money.Thanks to the receptionists lack of ability to handle issues, not being nice to the customers, and charging extra we will not be back to that place. Bummer, because its close to our place and the massages were great.

I had an amazing body massage with Joanne. I highly recommend her, she is a PRO and she is very attentive ! I can feel the well being few days after. The only concern is with the booking process : it was a gift and the receptionist does not keep record of what treatments my friends payed for. I have a gift card for 2x 30mns treatments with different options with tips included and they book a body massage of 60mns. I have mentioned it that but they book a body massage and the rate was higher than expected at the end. Be careful when you book with gift card and tell then exactly what you have because they don t ask you.

The actual massages and facials are fantastic, but the front desk reception is incredibly rude. She always makes you feel like you’re begging to get an appointment and she is gracing you with her presence. Hope the place realizes that and improve this very important part of the business.

I was encouraged to purchase an extremely expensive moisturizer at Bluemercurry which was supposed to solve all skin care issues. This moisturizer actually clogged my pores. Im a person who takes care of my skin and had very few extractions when I got facials, I got the most painful facial of my life to solve all the problems caused by this cream . After two visits with Dazirae Reynhart at Balans I got my skin back. I am so great for these professionals and this really relaxing atmosphere. TOP of the notch products. This place is heaven sent. I highly recommend this spa to anyone in need of an AMAZING facial.

Very Disappointed! Given that this is a very pricey spa, I was expecting good results when booking a lash lift. The lash lift did not take. After spending 150+ on it I would have expected an adequate solution and compensation - I was told nothing could be done, only a touch up weeks out. Disappointing to say the least!

I had been getting the best Massages at Balans for a few years, but in September 2018 I started consulting with Marie on an overall plan to reduce stress, and improve my posture so I would have less back, neck, shoulder, and hip pain. The results have been amazing. The entire staff at Balans, from Marie to Amy to Erin and Joanne, have been A+ professionals. They have always made me feel cared for, and I always leave Balans feeling better. The overall transformation in my stress level and my body pain has been incredible. I no longer have the daily pain in my body that I had grown used. My anxiety has also drastically decreased thanks to the wellness care I have received. If you would like to feel better--body, mind, and soul--go experience Balans!!

Great massage, friendly staff. 2 stars because it’s super expensive and we didn’t get the full hour we paid for. We paid $300 for a 60-minute couple massage. We were 10 minutes late because we couldn’t find parking. For $300 you think they could give us the full hour (we were the last appointment of the day, it’s not like we delayed the next appointment). We had a nice massage but I won’t come back here.

The staff really made my wifes birthday getaway a special one for us. Our massages were perfect and relaxing. Will come again when were in Boston next.

Had a prenatal massage here 7.5 months pregnant. It was rejuvenating. They have a massage therapist who is very familiar with pregnancy safe massage techniques so you know you are in good hands!

I went here two times. My first facial was done by an older lady she did good, but she extracted with using a tool that left me looking like an animal left claw marks alll over my face, it was horrible and didn’t heal for 2 days. The second time was done by Kristen !! Now she was amazing, facial perfect 👌, extraction she was gentle and used her fingers with cloth, which I prefer!! Because it doesn’t damage my skin compared to the knife/tool. While giving me skin tips as well. I highly recommend Kristen if you are looking to have a facial here!! Trust me.

I had a facial and it was just okay. The service was relaxing, but I left feeling and looking incredibly greasy. I also continued to find what I assume to be tiny microbeads from the exfoliation all over my neck, shoulders, and hairline throughout the afternoon.The receptionist was also quite inflexible. I booked a classic 60-minute slot on mindbody, unaware of the new client special. Once I learned of the potential discount, I asked for it, but she refused to honor it. She said she would honor it on my next visit, but even if I weren’t moving out of state next week, I probably wouldn’t return.

Cristina is so kind and knows what she is doing. If you are looking to relax and come out feeling refreshed, I would suggest you book with her!!!!

Have attempted to book an appointment here 4 times over the past week via ClassPass and every time they have canceled last minute! Finally called and they said they prioritize direct appointments and cancel ClassPass reservations at the ClassPass customers expense. Why are you even on ClassPass then?

Booked for my friends birthday (we’re from out of town) and last minute told us what I booked was out of service, so we then settled for something we didn’t want to do. Told us we’d be charged if we come or don’t come. That’s Bad business, regardless of your cancellation policy. Now looking at other reviews, I wouldn’t recommend.

Balans is a haven! I received a gift certificate for 30 minutes of the Balans Flotation room. I recommend it to anyone, and will now give gift certificates to friends. The Flotation Room helps erase muscle pain and is great for general relaxation. Balans has a great organic line of hair and skin products, and a delightful, warm staff.

Extremely stressful and upsetting experience. Times 2.I am extremely disappointed with the customer service that I received at the spa. On two occasions, I was scheduled to float but they cancelled within 2 hours of the appointment. They were aware of the malfunction for several days, but did not let me know until right before our appointment. No apology or effort to reschedule until I asked to speak with owner. Overall stressful. Not worth it.Looks like last minute cancellations is a frequent problem based on reviews here...

The Float rooms are Amazing. From the first moment you walk in to the moment you leave, Absolute relaxation awaits you. The Float room it self, with Float tank/Shower, is amazing. Its a amazing feeling when you get in, and rest your head on the floating pillow. After you rest your head, your body rises and floats! A amazing experience. I did my float yesterday 8/17, and today i feel just so relaxed, and rejuvenated! THANK YOU! AND WILL BE BACK SOON

Fantastic first time float! From making a reservation on the phone through checking out at the end, the staff was courteous and kind. The float room was perfect: clean and relaxing. The float itself was exactly what I was hoping for. The only thing that I could complain about if I was being extremely particular: the towels could have been much softer.

Especially with other options, from organic beverages, meal plans, desserts, if your seeking a place that has it all in one Balans is perfect.

AMAZING!!! Cristina is magical my massage was so terrific !!!

I had deep tissue massage today and it was absolutely amazing

Unfortunately I had the worst experience in this Spa, the place is really pretty and clean, but apart from that I went to to a wax & tinting brow service, and the burned my brow area really bad! 😡 They told me it was just sensitive but it wasn’t is a REAL burn!! Apart from that BAD CUATOMER SERVICE!!! I don’t recomend it for brow waxing!!

I had a fabulous facial with Kaylee. It was very luxurious and she was very professional. I would highly recommend booking an appointment with her! Five stars all the way!

Its nice & relaxing place... but the massage here isnt quite what I would call a full body massage, some areas been pretty much avoided...and when on top of it some one is pushing some products on you...I say- the experience is ruined completely

I arrived right on time for my appt and had literally zero wait, enjoyed a soothing facial with the clearly experienced Liliane, and love the Maria Akerberg products.

I highly recommend the floatation room. There is a tub with Epsom salt, shower, and bathroom. The spa supplies slippers, lots of towels, a robe, and an inflatable pillow.

Daz (Dazirae) is amazing! I highly recommend her and any of the body treatments. I always leave feeling incredible.
