Machine Nightclub

Drinks are expensive, except for the pitchers of beer. Those work out really well. When the club isnt over there are like 5 people at the bar. Halloween was a bust as they had nothing going on. Just having the bar open and not the down stair club part even on week days I think isnt good for business. A huge portion of my friends are scared to go unless there is an event or a Saturday. Mostly male dominated. Id love to see some woman nights at the machine even if it isnt on a weekend. A cocktail menu at the very least for when the club isnt open. I find myself spending the same about at the D-bar as I do here and thats a fine dining experience with amazing cocktails. Im aware machine is a club, but on the days where it really doesnt act like one, I find little reason to go. A good drink would be a good start.

The music was on point and the drinks where decent but the crowd that it attracts is not a lively one for some odd reason. I got there around 11:35p and there was not many people there so I figured it would pick up around midnight. Around 12:46 more people came but it was probably like 20 of us in the whole top floor of the club which is the 21+ crowd. The 18+ crowd downstairs was a little more live but still not as many people as I thought. He drag show was mediocre and queens were amateurs but it was a cute effort they provided. Would recommend this place only to underage teens looking for a good time in LQBT community but otherwise not impressed.

Machine night club. What can I say? It had a good amount of clientele. But at the end of the day, all but 3 of the staff members were rude. I had called earlier in the day, and instead of letting me speak to ask a question, I got cut off and told 21 and up. Twice I was cut off. I didnt let one person ruin my day, and decided to give it a second chance. It was overpriced for the event. I dont think it was worth the money I spent. For either floor. One of the bartenders was very nice and the people at the door were very informative and sweet. If it had better staff, was alittle cleaner, and had more of a customer service understanding, it would be a very successful business.

Machine is a great place for the 18 and over crowd ( Friday and Saturday only ) It can be a lot of fun to sing and dance all night long in a friendly environment. Beware, there is a lot of crowding, but in my opinion that’s part of the fun. There’s always another room to go to that’s less crowded though. So have fun! Oh and they only accept cash so that’s important! ($15 for 18-20, $10 for 21+)

1.) DON’T bring any beverages if you are under 21. Waited in line to get in and my friend threw out an energy drink. The security guard for some reason thought it was alcohol and extremely rudely told us to get out. Told him we were completely sober and even asked if a breathalyzer was available, still told us very rudely to get out of line, even judging our choice of outfits.2.) We also ran into a girl who was clearly intoxicated on the sidewalk outside. Security lied to her and said that her friends were outside and told her to look for them. She was left outside in the rain with no cell service, intoxicated, and they wouldn’t even let her back in to make a phone call to get an Uber back home. Was really excited to try this place out but just left extremely disappointed.

Great, high-energy bar! I come here once or twice a year with my running club, or for their dance nights. Its always high-energy, and very friendly. If you book a party there, ask for Donnald! Hes the best!

I wanted to go to the Halloween-party tonight. They didnt let me in with my German ID! I asked why? They need the passport to be sure! I was shocked!.. So, for all foreigners and tourist: dont forget your passport, if its really worth it...

Easily the most friendly club of its kind in the Boston Area. Ive had only one experience that was wholly objectionable and inexcusable and although it was with a bartender it was never repeated nor had it any precedent. I was entirely outraged by the behavior of this staff member but I was with a friend who wanted to stay. Under other circumstances I would have made my disgust known.But that was one, isolated occasion and presented no reason to hold it against the club itself overall.

Hated it. to many searched . they pour you a half bottle of beer then sell the other half to the next customer, music is OK but not many people for a Saturday night. two floors with separate club got to pay for the dance club downstairs. thats fine but when you go back security searches again does not remember it customers and are rude like the bar tender found the place to be unfriendly . Will never go back.

Ive been 3 times now. Fun crowd, good music (in my opinion--i love edm). However, the last time i went i was furious. Since Im 18, i got my hands Xed. Not a problem. But once I was inside I was really thirsty so went to the bar and asked for a cup of water. They wouldnt give me a cup of WATER and told me that water for me was over there--the bartender proceeded to point to the stand that was selling water for 3 dollars. I couldnt believe it. My 21 yr old friend then asked for a cup of water and then we walked a little bit away from the bar and i started drinking it and within a matter of seconds security came over and threatened to kick me out. I was drinking WATER. They do not treat their 18+ guests right, and also charge a fortune for 18+ entrance. Unfortunately, its the only 18+ club in boston.

They kicked international guests out because they were uncomfortable with their actions. They were not drunk just having a good time. No discussion and outcome was poor. Never will take friends their again. Very poor management

Wow..... enjoying a fun time on the dance floor when what I can only describe as some skinny, off her head on drugs little skank went crazy... It seems shes a regular because her bouncer friends came running and removed us! All very shocking and quite scary. DO NOT GO HERE!!

I watched the Gold Dust Orphans, “A Little Orphan Tranny Christmas” here last Christmas. The show itself was pretty well-produced but the acoustics of this nightclub leave much to be desired. Floors are grimy and somewhat sticky. Not sure how you could have a good dancing experience on such floors. Staff is somewhat brusque and not very helpful.

Really bad environment. Pretty much empty. Wasted 10 bucks. They only take cash. The most activity youll see will be the bouncers and friends OUTSIDE because inside its pretty much dead. 10/10 wont come back again.

I dont know what happened to this bar, last time i was home last year and went to visit my old haunts. The Ramrod is gone, you have to pay to get in, I didnt recognize the place. I was at that bar starting in 1988, worked the coat room in 91, I was there when the walls came down in 92. It used to be a strictly mens leather bar but its nothing I would ever go to on my trips to visit family. Ill go to the Eagle in Providence. That has not changed. Its just moved to where Yukon used to be. Boston gay nightlife is dead to me now. Too many women in mens bars also.

This place has rotating events and evenings catering to different crowds. Be sure to check their website/Facebook to find out whats going on the night you are planning to visit. The downstairs Machine has spotty cell service often times so be aware of that if youre trying to meet up with friends or request Ubers, etc. They claim to have free WiFi which would help, but they rotate the password so often that most of the bartenders dont even know what the current one is. Other wise a great place, service is good, and drinks are decent as well

Machine is Amazing! Its my go to place to have a great time. Staff can have their attitudes but its not a big deal. Just think about the kind of people they deal with on a regular basis lol but ultimately theyre really nice

Went to Machine last night with a group of people, all of which were from different states. However, they took my Rhode Island driver’s license, bent it, and told me it was a fake. I’m 23 years old and couldn’t believe it. I talked to the manager, asked him to try scanning it, and he just told me to leave. My friends came to try and vouch for me and the manager was condescending and threatened one of my friends. They have an out of date ID book to check IDs. Just go to Club Cafe.

Worst club ever. Bartender at the first bar by the door ugly and mean. Mean ugly girl at coat check took 20.00 for my coat check and did not give me back the change. I realized to late. Bartender (Large African American Man) working the back bar behind the dance floor was so rude to me when I asked for a lemon for my diet coke - started shouting at me because I reached in the bin for a lemon after requesting one from him 5 times.....got all ghetto on me. I am from LA visiting Boston....they are all posers at Machine...trash and the worst bar/club I have ever been to. I hope all those individuals get fired.Sincerely,Not Impressed #BostonCold

Ok. Don’t bother using their ATM or anything in that general vicinity. They will literally take your money and not care... it’s ridiculous. If you go there, either go there with cash or just don’t go there at all. The staff are the farthest from helpful and literally take joy in taking your money.

This place is unreal.. it’s 5:30pm on a Sunday (the day before Memorial Day) This is my 5th bar to visit today and Boston Bars holds true to there complete and utter Disassociation from its customers..... I mean WOW.. 1 out of 5 bars so far ISNT GOOD! I’m a truck driver and I have been all over the USA. I’ve never in my life been to a club that is cash only AND not a single person looked me in the eyes. They walked me in and it’s almost as if the person who tended the bar couldn’t stand the sight of me..... they wouldn’t even look at me...... I’m completely weirded out and if I wasn’t so curious as to what this place is like when it’s poppin at night they wouldn’t even get a star. I’d like to add that I’m a transgender queer man.. you guys are disturbingly outdated.

Totally understandable when you pay the door when youre not allowed to go to both floors. Your money is totally worthless to come to this club. I am definitely not coming back since I am not allowed to enjoy the place as I paid for.

Can be a little ratchet with bad music taste depending on the nights, but there are some cool events here and there. Wont say no if I have to come back, but wont be on my list for a regular night out.

A security guard assaulted me and it was over me saying hi to an old friend. Seemed like he couldnt manage his basic job. I never plan on coming back here unless hes fired.

We have something going on. i am going to debut my singing as heavy metal star rob halford from judas priest. then i can sing at guitar center across the street. they really need to see real rock stars who arent just out there for the money

Security made a huge deal about a lil bottle forgotten in a bag yet a man slipped by with a huge knife and attempted to slice and stab the same guy that had issues at the door at the end of the night. Like Im baffled that security has wands and Pat u down and he still made it in. What happens if he had a gun and shot that guy? BOSTON WAKE UP

Tried calling to ask questions about the club, because Ive never been, the owner, who answered the phone, ended up hanging up in my face. I tried calling back, no answer. Never been treated like that from a place where theyre supposed to be so accepting. If I could give a 0, I would.

I enjoy.the.monthly sin-o-matic event. I love.having.thw.opportunity.to dress up and.dance.in a judgment free.environment. I just.wish the songs didbg all seem to have the same beat.

The place is amazing however they have a transphobe named Ryan Cheyney working for them, if they booted him maybe I would want to go there more often.

I was DD and asked the bartender for water. She said the only way I could get water was to pay $3/bottle. I had already paid $15 cover. I guess Machine doesnt appreciate designated drivers.

Better than the last 2 clubs I visited tonight but then again those clubs sucked. Its basically the equivalent of being the best by comparison.

Really annoying getting questioned on my “Real ID“ when I’m almost 30. Took the mood away when I’m being made to feel unwanted. Don’t “test” me when I’ve been of age a few years

This is my favorite place to get down. I like to come here after a long work week to just let loose and unwind. Always has the best club tunes in Boston.
