This place is a hidden gem! Very welcoming and friendly! My relaxation massage was on point! The room was so calming! ( might need a stool to put your shoes on after) My massage hit all the right spots for someone living in Chronic pain! Rose was amazing checking us in and serving us tea! Ella was my massage therapist she was amazing and walked me through everything since I worried about my back injury. I will definitely be back and try more things on the menu! Wonderful atmosphere!

I feel soooo much better after booking a Thai massage with Monica. Trust me, start with medium pressure then go for more if you need it. This place is so clean, smells great and I highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful couples deep tissue massage with Teyya and Ella! The experience was seamless from start to finish. They accommodated our same day request and mild allergy. Next time we will go for a longer 90 minute session.

I had an amazing experience with Annie for a 60 min deep tissue. She kept checking on how I felt about the pressure and very good at what she does. I felt so much better at the end from sore muscles, especially my shoulders. The place is very clean and staff were very friendly as well. Will definitely come back for a longer 90 min session!!

Just had an amazing healing with Teyya.I’ve been getting massage since 1992 and I know she truly has a gift!I booked another 90-minute treatment for next week.She knew exactly what my problem areas were and got right to work on them.The spa is calm, clean, inviting, and easy to book.Highly recommend!

Chris at Viyada is the best!! I’m very sensitive and ticklish to most massages, but Chris’s pressure was perfect and I’ve felt the most relaxed I ever have when getting a massage. Would come back in a heart beat 🤍

Fantastic massage by Ella Dickens. Really outstanding. Very attentive and open to feedback. My god her hands are powerful but she harnesses well. Facility very clean and relaxing setting (not easy to find though). Would and will go back when in Boston.

Best massage ever, holy cr*p! I got a last minute massage on ClassPass figuring it was better to use my points up than let them go to waste since my cycle was about to renew (if you know, you know) so had no expectations going in. I picked the East meets West, only booked a 60 min slot, randomly assigned masseuse who I will now ask for on purpose every time and it was just divine. There is a lot of stretching and body work alongside “typical” massage techniques and it was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. I’m literally sitting in the shop in the post-massage glow drinking tea and writing this review before I leave - mostly so I can’t forget that the magic fingers lady’s name is Rose 🤣🤷‍♀️ 10/10 will def be coming back

Chris is a true professional. I have tried several places in the Boston area for deep tissue massage and his technique is the best. Caution for LGBTQ. I don’t normally write reviews but my conscience has me writing this one. I have been to the Viyada spa a few times over the past few years and though out of my typical price range have really enjoyed it as a treat to myself. I had a massage today which left me very concerned. The massage therapist spoke about upsetting personal issues during the massage, which I would have normally shrugged off as someone struggling and never would have left a review, however they also spoke about violence against transgender people which is why I am writing this review. A massage is a vulnerable interaction and I can’t imagine how fearful I would have felt if I had been transgender hearing their words. It is my natural inclination to smooth things over so that is how I handled the situation in the moment however, in retrospect I should have addressed the interaction while I was there. I will have a very hard time going back, even with a different massage therapist and I write this to caution anyone for whom this may not be a safe space.

Our go-to place for Thai massage in Boston. We have been coming to Boston a few times a year from upstate New York and have a deep-tissue massage place and our Thai massage place. Would highly recommend. Always leave feeling refreshed.Knowledgeable therapists are hard to come by and I would highly recommend. Will keep coming back.

This is the worse SPA in the Boston. After confirming my appointment over the phone, I was told they never confirmed my appointment when I showed up in the shop. It happened TWICE!I showed the owner the call history and wanted to the explanation. Rather than an apology, the owner started to call police??? This shop is the disgrace to Thai SPA brand.I did nothing aggressively! I kindly asked the owner a couple of times if he can let me know who answered the call and confirmed the booking for my daughter. Be empathetic at my perspective, be mindful with his words. I waited him to process the payment of a customer, as he asked me to do. Then he just threatened me to call the police, and made the call in no minute.My hands were in my pocket the whole time, surely the surveillance camera can prove I am not a liar and did nothing aggressive. I understand the owner is busy and had long hours of working. But I wouldn’t show up if my appointment was confirmed. I wasn’t there to be threatened. This means there’s something wrong in the booking process. He wouldn’t bother to spare the patience to find out.This proved another point that he didn’t spend a minute to talk to me about this incident, most important, trying to understand each other’s perspective. But being very RUDE and verbally abusive to customers from the beginning. His attitude reflects who he really is. I don’t believe business respect their customer can act in such poor manner.btw my daughter wasn’t five years old. She had sport training for long hours causing the muscles pain. It’s common to release the pain by massage, no matter at young age or adulthood.I don’t believe the owner has the capacity to manage this business up to the expectation to deliver great pleasure, he may do this well for a short period, in fact, lack to patience and short-sighted for the business problem will be great comprise for customer service.P.S. I can feel he don’t like me to report this incident on google review, neither do I. I have asked you to speak with me in private when I was in the shop, you have refused. This is a really wonderful place to have a massage. I most recently had a Swedish massage with Kim, which was outstanding--one of the best Ive had anywhere! She is a skillful therapist, with great technique. Ive also had amazing Thai massages here in the past.

I attended the two day Thai massage intensive in Nov and Im thrilled beyond words with my experience. Krit was an amazing teacher, very patient and thorough with his explanations and demonstrations. The entire staff was very friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. The spa is gorgeous inside and instills a sense of calm right away. Intensive is a great descriptor, my body was beat by Tuesday night but my brain was full and I feel more and more confident in my skills each time I go through the routine. Im watching the website very closely so when the advanced course drops I can sign up. Thank you so much, Viyada!

I had a 90 min Thai massage with Jeff, he did a great job! All my muscles were sore + tender from climbing and the pressure/ stretches/ adjustments he did were expertly applied. Receptionist was friendly, she offered tea & water, and gave me my intake form (which Jeff read very carefully and asked me specific questions about before we got started). Pricey but not out of line with other Back Bay spas.

I had a very good experience here. It smelled great, all the staff were nice, everything was clean, and the massage/masseuse were fantastic.Had to knock two while stars for pricing, one for not advertising it and the other for it being obscenely high. Costs cant be found online and Im still in shock by the $172 I had to pay for a 90 minute session, BEFORE the tip and AFTER a 20% new customer discount. Thats $50 more than other places around here and something Id have checked had I been less trusting or less in need of the therapy while on travel.Id love to say Ill be back but theres no way.

Step off the bustling Newbury street to this hidden oasis. Professional, clean, beautiful, calm interior - hard to believe its right in the center of it all! I had Opal for a 30min Neck, Shoulder, Back... absolutely game changing. She was phenomenal and everyone who worked there was lovely. Definitely be back soon!

This place is excellent when it comes to massage - the masseuses are very attentive and thorough! They really focus on the areas in which you ask them too. The massage experience is a 10/10.The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because they don’t have very much transparency in their pricing. When you’re paying such a high price there should be 100% upfront transparency in the cost. There was a discrepancy in the price I was asked to pay and what was stated on their sheet. It took some time to eventually get the issue resolved but these sort of things should be very clear from the beginning at such a high end establishment.

As soon as you step in, you are away from the busy life and it has a calming and welcoming atmosphere.The place is clean and comfortable. We had a couples massage and the room was nicely decorated, perfect temperature and the music was soothing. 2 girls we had were excellent! Victoria and Dylan worked on the area we had problems with yet didnt forget the other parts of body. Nicely designated the time to cover all areas. They often checked in with us to make sure that we were comfortable. ( Dylan didnt as much as Victoria but I like that too. Because I like it quiet during the massage and she told me to communicate with her if I need some adjustment.We liked both their styles!) We had a 90 minute deep tissue massage and wow! are they strong? We both said it hurt GOOD! You definitely need 90 minutes and still didnt want it to end. I arrived late but they still accommodated me. My massage therapist was Apple and she was amazing! She applied the right pressure, made adjustments according to my feedback during the session and was very professional. I am still feeling great and my massage was a few days ago! This review is based on the experience of my sister who had an absolutely horrible experience. They treat black people especially poorly over here. Manager is quite rude and definitely needs to practice his customer service skills. Front desk employee needs to stop stereotyping black women (look at the racist response they wrote below to her review, stereotyping her as yelling and aggressive when she was in fact speaking very calmly). All she wanted was a massage and instead she got treated like she was nothing.

Absolutely loved my visit. Was visiting from out of town. I hadnt been to a massage in months cuz I was seeing a chiro and an ortho after a car accident 6 months ago. That massage made me feel better than all the visits to the chiro. Ive never been a huge chiro adjustment believer anyway, this massage was Exactly what I needed. Wish they were closer to home, Id be a regular. Im coming back next time Im in Boston. ❤️

The front desk was empty when we walked in for our appointment, so with nobody to receive us or inform the masseuse to prep the room, the entire service moved by almost half an hour. The massage itself was great and the masseuse was very caring and thoughtful. However, their English is a little poor so it was challenging to communicate my requirements on the fly. Will definitely go back!

What a joke. I booked a massage there at 7pm (was in town for work). I arrived early as instructed (around 6:50). Barely greeted by the receptionist (who clearly didnt know how to set the mood for a spa experience), i then waited as my therapist was running late. At 7:15 she finally came out and I went into the therapy room, but I had to wait some more on the table.She gave me every impression that I was disturbing her and didnt care at all about my experience (talked loud, complained about her day, didnt ask me the usual pre massage chit chat…)THEN (wait for it) as I was face down on the massage table, i heard her say casually “oh by the way im gonna be using gloves today because i cut my finger cutting vegetables”I mean sure that sounds painful and I felt sorry but massage with platic gloves, really?! Especially without giving me any options - they should have given me a heads up upfront, as well as offer a discount.As I was already there, it proceeded, and I had the massage with her wearing plastic gloves, which obviously wasnt great. I asked her if it was painful and if she was ok and she said it was totally fine and she didnt feel the cut at all…They did extend the slot to make up for the delay (I came out about 8:10) but I was asked to pay full price…Anyhow - the lack of expectations management was obvious, the massage was mediocre, but above all, the style, vibe and delivery from the employees were really not that of a spa in my opinion. I will definitely NOT be coming back.

My first traditional Thai massage, a Mother’s Day gift from my son. A wonderful experience which left me feeling amazingly limber and stretched out immediately after and the effect has lasted now going on second week. The environment is clean, inviting, serene and relaxin, and staff very attentive to the customer experience.. Kudos to Jeff for the excellent technique. Sheets seemed to have some makeup on them, massage therapist was late to my appointment. All that is fine given the massage was okay in itself, but the person at the front (manager?) applied a bigger tip to my receipt than I said, then tried to argue with me about the tip amount.

I have been to this place many times in the last few years. They used to be much better. I went today for an aromatherapy massage. I specifically called them yesterday to make sure their elevator is working because I am using crutches and they said yes. Today I showed up 10 minutes before my appointment. The receptionist had gone to get coffee and left one of the massage therapists alone without giving her instructions on how to open the front door. The poor lady walked down to get me. Then the elevator was not working and it required a key to turn it on. So I had to wait for the receptionist to come back from the coffeeshop. When I finally got upstairs, my massage therapist was not there. She was coming from home, and was 20 min late to my appointment. So I started 30 min late to my appointment. If I was late for 30min, I suspect they would have only given me a 30 min massage and charge me for an hour. So I go into the room and settle in. The therapist did not ask me what kind of essential oil I wanted. She just put some tissue with lemongrass around my head. Lemongrass was definitely not what I wanted as it is often for re-energizing rather than relaxing. So I asked why she is using lemongrass. She said that’s what the receptionist wrote in my chart. I asked for a different one and wanted to see the options. She said we can use ‘unscented’ oil. Overall, her massage was good but instead of 60 min, it was 52 min because by that time she was already very late to the customers that were after me. At the end, I was still charged for an ‘aromatherapy massage’ at full price. The receptionist was kind enough to walk me downstairs and open the door for me. I will not go back to this place.

Great experience at this spa. One of the best massages I’ve ever received. Apple was excellent. I left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed and felt relief from spots in neck and back that were hurting. Often I feel like you either get a relaxing massage or a deep massage to release tension spots. Apple was able to release spots while maintaining an enjoyable and relaxing massage.

I went for a massage here a week after they reopened from the lockdown. The staff is operating by very safe standards, in my opinion. The therapist wore a mask, a surgical covering, and gloves. I was asked to wear a mask whenever I was not facing down on the table and the reception team were also masked.If you have not been to the Newbury location, it is wonderful and calm. The massages here are some of the best I have experienced! Do a Thai massage if your muscles are asking to be stretched and decompressed. The oil massage is the traditional kneading and digging experience which is great for built up tension. Either way you will love your time here!

Went for a couples Thai massage with my partner. It was honestly the best massage I have received thus far in my life (and I have had many, over several continents). It was relaxing and comfortable. The thai massage really gets in your muscles better than any other deep tissue that Ive had. My partner and I were so relaxed afterwards. It was amazing. Cant recommend enough. Definitely coming back there!

Massage was good, but like other reviews say, double check what they charge you. they give you 20% off your first massage, and I tipped 20% off of the amount that they charged me (which was 20% off the price!). looked at the charge a day later and saw that they charged me 20% of the original? shady given the fact that the massage is pricey (around $200) already

Very peaceful atmosphere and kind staff. Ive had many swedish massages at various locations, but decided to try the traditional Thai massage here for the first time, and it is far and away the best massage Ive had. It integrated a few spinal twists and deep stretches that you might encounter in certain yoga classes, except you dont have to put any effort in yourself! Highly recommend.

Best massage I have ever had! I have had 500+ massages and I am a hard marker, but this was a 10/10 one. Anne-Marie was fabulous. I had just done Boston marathon and she made me feel a lot better. She did not miss one spot. Very pricey but worth every cent! I would fly over from Australia just to come back to her again!

Went for a couples massage. Cost 225. After the massage the receptionist tries to make me pay 20% tip for each of us. I tell her 1. That’s not how tips work, you don’t multiple 20% and pay that amount for each person. 2. Tips are for above and beyond service and 100% optional. She then gets upset and tries to talk to her manager. She reluctantly returns and I still give them 15% tip for the masseuse. Terrible customer service and I definitely won’t be returning here or recommending this place to anyone.

I have been going to Viyada Thai Spa for over two years. There are various styles of massage you can get. The price are determined by length of time and type of massage and are very cost competitive. The staff is very professional and the location is very clean and easy to find. The only issue is it is located in the heart of Boston so parking can be tricky so leave some extra time to find a parking spot. The Boston Common garage is about a 10 minute walk from the spa.

These guys can turn a bad week into thin air after a good massage. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment! Your first visit is discounted as well as other discounts as you rebook! They offer plenty of different massages to choose from. Ive never been someone to consistently receive massages, but these guys really make me want to rebook, rebook, rebook! Thanks, Viyada!

The 60min message and the body scrubbing I had was good. I payed $214 for the service after discount which is fine. The guy at the register ruined my experience. He asked for %25 tip which means more than $50! I payed for tip $26 and the guy was not satisfied and not welcoming. Also, I asked for a receipt and he said we don’t give a receipt for a cash payer!!! (He gave it to me after I insisted) Will never come back again.

I had massage with Katherine for 3 times. She is awesome. The first time, my left leg was painful. I knew it must be something wrong with my muscle, so I came to see Katherine. Wow, she was unbelievable. She worked on me for half an hour. Wow, The pain has gone, and I was able to walked normally. She also gave me the exercise posture I should do to relax my muscle. Last month, I had a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Katherine again.Before having a massage, I felt some tensions around my neck and shoulder. She was extremely awesome. She can tell how I sit at work and also told me how to take care of my body to prevent the muscle tensions. I had purchased a gift certificate for my daughter for Christmas and I was ensured that she would be able to use the 20% off that was been offered at that time that I purchased the gift certificate. When she went in for her massage she was told that because she had been there before they would not honor the 20%. When I called and spoke with the manager he would not take care of the situation I explained that I was told by an employee that they would get the 20%. Very poor communication and customer service would not recommend!

I had a couples massage for my boyfriends birthday and it was absolutely wonderful! Great ambiance, very wonderful customer service and it was just the perfect evening, we didnt want it to end! My first time coming here. I bought a couple massage with a friend and got 30% off our entire service for new customers. I received the thai massage and my friend got the Swedish massage. We both loved it! It has become my new place to go in Boston. I was fairly unimpressed by their neighbor, exhale.The thai massage with Chris was amazing! I loved it more than some of the thai massages in Thailand. I walked out of the spa feeling like I was living in a fog my whole life and all of a sudden the world was in high definition. I loved it so much that I returned back for the coconut oil massage 90 minutes with Lay. I had a gnarly knot in my shoulder that I twinged ever time I turned my head to one side. I was in desperate need of one! I told Lay to really focus on my shoulders and back. She may be a small lady but she can really put the pressure on. I had to ask to ease off a little, which perfected my time on the table. My back was full of knots and it was very therapeutic. This place has become my go to place!

DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS SINESS.I made a last minute appointment last week and called to explain that i needed a deep tissue massage given that i had severe cramp from my neck through my hand. They called me back to say there was an opening so i went in a few hours later and while i was booked for a deep tissue massage, the masseuse ( who was v sweet) gave me a swedish massage ( very gentle relaxing strokes) however NOT the massage i specifically had booked. I asked her to apply more pressure a few times but it was still not anything close to a deep tissue. When i was done she said that shes not specialized in deep tissue and when i told the receptionist, she made my pay and said that the manager would get in touch with me. After 4 days of me calling them, she finally returned my call and was as rude as can be. She said she can offer me 20% off my next massage but completely ignored the fact that i did not receive the specific service i had booked for $140! Not cheap! I realized that they had an opening from à cancelation ( aka for a Swedish massage) and even though they knew i wanted a deep tissue, they lied to me confirming the appointment just so they could fill up the time-slot and fraud me of my money. They also made me py cash so i wouldn’t be able to submit a charge back with my cc. The staff and management are highly unprofessional and this is a fraudulent business. If they really cared about the health and well being of their patients, they would 1- never lie about their staff availability and 2- had That been an honest mistake, she wouldve offered me the massage i had actually booked on the house, which she refused. Never going back here again. The manager also hung up on me when i refused the 20% coupon!Shame on you!

They always accommodate my urgent needs. Schedule is prompted. Place is very clean and relaxed. I always go for Thai Massage. Every time I go, the pains I had are relieved. I definitely recommend to my family and friends.

Do not come here at all but especially if you value your money. These people did not communicate their policies to us at all, and turned us away when we came when they said we could come. BUT mind you still charged us $320 for a service we never received. Manager of the locations was incredibly rude and walked away from us midsentence as we tried to explain our situation . Then quite literally told us to quiet down as we asked if we could sit down and speak to him. Please listen to me bc I would give 0 stars if I could. Also incredibly racist treatment.

I was having extreme back pain and my massage therapist really took the time to make sure the massage wasnt hurting me, and focused on the ares that were bothering me the most. He did such a great job I scheduled an appointment for the next week!

Overall, a wonderful experience. Soothing atmosphere right when you walk in, clean premises, friendly and professional staff. Have been feeling the lasting effects from the aromatherapy massage all week now. Looking forward to a return visit.

Viyada Thai Spa is one of my favorite indulgences in Boston. I am very active and have made viyada part of my health and wellness routine. A proper, authentic Thai massage is difficult to find. I searched for years in Boston and finally Viyada opened and did NOT disappoint! I have brought friends and family here and they are always so impressed with the service, experience and the results. The location is great and a perfect place to relax, recover and de-stress. Chris has helped me with a lot of injuries, no question I have recovered faster because of his work, as well as general wellness maintenance. Nothing but positive things to say about Viyada, Chris and his staff.

Got treated to a massage here for my birthday. Warm, peaceful and therapeutic, so needed during these hectic times. Apple was very attentive to my needs and I left feeling great!

This was def the worst message I have ever had hands down. I actuelly went in for a 90 min message and had her stop before an hour and that was even pushing it. And I love messages!! The masseuse had a stench of B.O. as if she just ran a marathon before we started. She was completely out of breath before the message, I actually asked her if she needed a drink of water, I was afraid she would have a heart attach. I never write reviews, but I had to for this one. I dont like talking bad on anyone but to pay $94 for A message and get this is unacceptable. I dont want anyone else to have this happen to them. This was my first message that I was not relax and at one point felt like a rug burn. I told the front desk that this was terrible and she said her boss would not do anything about it. Wow, what a business. I saw really good reviews on here 5 stars. Maybe I just drew the short straw and got the masseuse that was on her first day or they are fake reviews. If this is your first time in Boston as well, DONT GO HERE!!!!!!!!

My appointment was canceled last minute, after I already made time for it in my schedule. When I called back 10 minutes after receiving the cancellation email, they told me they booked another customer into my spot and cannot accommodate me anymore. They told me the reason for canceling was because I booked online through Mindbody and that didn’t give them my credit card info. Why have that option on the website then?! It was my first time booking with them, how am I supposed to know the booking is not valid?!! Any why cancel an hour before the appointment, and not ahead of time?! Not cool.

This massage was different from any other. My muscles were stretched and massaged at the same time. It was like a yoga class, leaving me similarly energized and relaxed at the same time. I booked another session straight away.

My first deep tissue massage was with Suda Tuk at Viyada. Viyada Thai Spa is located at 437 Boylston St in Boston MA 02116. The location is fantastic and easy to get to. Once youre inside, the space has a very relaxing atmosphere.One tip: they give you cold tea, NOT water when you first are waiting for your massage. I know because I chugged a couple sips of cold tea!Suda was incredible, she worked out all the knots in my back and it felt amazing. I would highly recommend her and I already made an appointment to go back.Thanks Viyada!

The atmosphere is warm and peaceful. The staff is attentive and cordial and my masseuse was wonderful and responsive to my requests by making sure I was comfortable. I had a wonderful experience and I will be back.

I booked a couples massage that I bought on Gilt. I arranged an appointment for my boyfriend and myself. He had a small sebaceous cyst removed from his scalp a week earlier. I called to ask if it was safe to have this massage and the receptionist told me to wait another two weeks. So I re-booked the appointment. She called me two days before the appointment and said that because my boyfriend had brain surgery she would need to cancel the appointment. I explained that he did not have brain surgery. Her english was awful and she kept repeating the same thing over to me like a broken record. The therapist ended up getting on the phone and saying the same thing, saying that they need a letter from the doctor to prove its safe. We already saw the doctor to have the 3 stitches removed and was told he was normal. I am not sure why they waited all this time to ask me this. It doesnt make sense to book a doctors appointment and pay a co-pay to get a letter now. This conversation seemed to go nowhere as both people had horrible english.I have called Gilt City to complain and they have escalated the matter as they are not sure how the spa can claim that I will not be charged (as stated in an email they sent me). Gilt City does not give refunds so now this has become a problem. Gilt has already paid the vendor so as stated by the Gilt City rep on the phone.I would not recommend this place!!!

Very professional staff. Booking is easy. The massage is great and they are very understanding of what you’re looking for. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for stress release and relaxation.

She goes well beyond in effort and care, in what you might expect from a typical American massage therapist. The Thai method, by my estimation, provides the most superior therapeutic results.
