First time at Cobra, but I have had Korean BBQ more than a handful of times. My wife and I ordered the Omakase 2 and some appetizers. The quality of meat was good, and the facility was clean. It wasnt very busy, but it seemed like they were rushing us through the courses. It was also a little pricey. Not terrible, but Im not sure if I will come back.

Cobra is an absolute gem! The ambiance perfectly blends a chic, club-like vibe with a cozy dining experience. We indulged in the Cobra Omakase II (see photo), and every bite was bursting with incredible flavors. The interactive experience of cooking our own food at the table added a fun and unique touch to the evening. For the appetizer, we had the special of the night: braised short rib dumplings in a coconut curry sauce, and they were simply divine. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an exceptional dining adventure!

This was amazing. The food was high quality and delicious, the atmosphere is very cool and it was so much fun to create the different combinations of food together on the grill. It is expensive but it is also a good deal of food. Its definitely worth stopping by and we look forward to renting a karaoke room sometime.

This is a tough one, we went at 5:45 as thats when we had reservations and the place had barely any people which was good because looking at the place and its wide drink menu Im sure its packed when the sun goes down.Lets start with the positivesThe service was excellent, we were well attended to for the most part and I do appreciate how they had non-alcoholic mocktails since my wife and I dont drink alcohol. We were able to get a reservation same day I suspect because of how early in the day it was for what seems to be more of a nightclub.Lets go into the so-soThe mocktail we had was good but it was pretty expensive for having no alcohol in it. Mine was $14 and my wifes was $12, our server never asked us if we wanted another, I would have said no due to the price but my drink was empty most of the time. The meats were mostly good quality and the Wagu they have is genuine but its the low end variety which isnt surprising given we are in Pittsburgh but it was still decent enough for the area. The floor of the building was sticky, its really dark inside with no windows and there is very little air moving around so it feels stuffy. The seating is also nothing more than a fancy wooden bench and after 30 or so minutes your bottom will let you know your sitting on a flat wooden board with no padding. Now the not so greatCant skirt around the price for what you are getting. My wife and I left spending over $200 after tip and we did not get a lot for that money. In fact we were still hungry after we left and went and got Thai. Considering two adults who only had a single non-acholic drink each and a prepackaged meal this is a bit much. The meats were good, dont get wrong but if Im being honest I have had better cuts of meat at Texas Roadhouse for a more reasonable price. I know the experience is different but you do get way more variety at a better price at a place like the Roadhouse. I have also been to other restaurants like this in other cities and they were much better in terms of food and value. I know this is Pittsburgh and options are really limited but even being unique for the area still doesnt justify the prices. All the sides that came with our meal plan were terrible, all the mushrooms we had tasted terrible, the kimchi was the worst I ever had and the pickled veggies were also very soar and rather unpleasant we had a single bite of each and pushed them to the side.So overall what do I think, well I think a fair amount of the 5 stars is from the mentality that since the place is expensive it must be good or perhaps they were people there when its late night and are drunk and having a good time. For a dinner date this place is not all that great and if that is your intent for coming you would be better served elsewhere. My wife and I definitely wont be back and if someone were to ask me what I thought if they had been thinking about going Id tell them the hype is not worth the price especially if they are going for dinner.

The food in general was not good as the atmosphere and the service. We had the galbi and the little pillow as well shared a shrimp fried rice. Galbi was good seasoned, little pillow was good for bbq too, both of the portions are quite small. The fried rice was bad and we couldn’t eat due to too salty. Our server- Nicole was very kind to trade it for us but we didn’t want a new one so we asked her to tell the kitchen that we were good and she was very nice to take that off our bill too. The side dishes were unique and have different varieties, kudos to the gochujang potato and the edamame, everything else i think it didnt go well with each other and the meat too.The atmosphere was very nice, if you are looking for a trendy theme and an interesting date night. We enjoyed the karaoke box, they used karafun app and will update the new songs through the guest suggestion. I think it will be more easier if they just use karaoke on youtube, pay premium and dont have to worry about the suggestions.

We enjoyed everything about our dinner experience once we got rolling. The only thing we’d change is we sat for a while. We were waiting for someone else to arrive, however we wanted to order an appetizer and had questions and had to go find someone to take our appetizer order. We sat for a while without any attention. After that, we continued to sit with no one checking in until our appetizer came. Once the appetizer came, we place our order, and then we had 3 people waiting on our table. I’m not sure why the first 20 minutes was so awkward. The food was delicious! Love the Korean corn and the bok choy! The meat was incredible and the ambience was nice. We enjoyed our dinner! Also, thank you for the birthday dessert!! We tipped well because we thoroughly enjoyed our time once it got started.

The food was great and the waiters were super nice arranging everything for our somewhat big group (7 plp). This place has the bbq space separated from the karaoke rooms and the dance floor, so you can opt to do all of the activities or just choose one of them.

Had a birthday celebration here, got a BBQ table for 6. I researched this place and knew going in that I was going to spend a good bit of money so Im not going to knock it for the cost but overall I feel like its not worth the cost. You can get a better experience going to the Melting Pot or almost anything else for the $350 (including tax and tip) I spent on two people although I did buy a round of prosecco for the table that was about $65 (including tax and tip). The Good: Food was good, the portions were good. The OK: The service was OK, nothing special but not bad. It was actually three of our birthdays and we mentioned that going to the table, no complimentary anything. The drinks were OK I actually think one of the dinks I had was supposed to have smoke on top but they didnt have the smoke or whatever. Drinks definitely not worth the price. The Bad: BBQ tables are small. Not meant for 6 people. Id do 4 at most and for the best experience maybe just a romantic night for two.

Otherwise, dinner can get a little pricey so definitely a special occasion or when you have friends/family visiting and looking for something different. For the BBQ tables, Id recommend 4 (maybe 5) max as 6 is just too much for one grill and all the extras.

Recently visited Cobra, a Korean BBQ restaurant in Pittsburgh, and I had a mixed experience. The restaurant had a dark and clean ambiance that created a romantic atmosphere, perfect for a cozy evening. The food quality at Cobra was pretty good. The Korean barbecue selection was flavorful and satisfying, with a variety of marinated meats and delicious side dishes. However, I was disappointed with the waiters lack of assistance in understanding the concept of Korean barbecue. It would have been helpful to receive some guidance on the different cuts of meat and cooking techniques.Despite the slight drawback, I would still recommend Cobra for its excellent food and romantic setting. However, its important to note that dining here can be quite pricey, with the Korean BBQ option costing $60-$75 per person. If youre willing to splurge for a special occasion and enjoy a memorable culinary adventure, Cobra is definitely worth considering.Overall, Cobra offers a great dining experience with its mouthwatering food and romantic ambiance. Just be prepared for the higher price point and the possibility of limited assistance from the staff regarding the concept of Korean barbecue

I was with a group of 8 people and we rented a private karaoke room for 2 hours. The karaoke system worked very well and we had a great time singing. However, the room was not well ventilated so it got very hot in there. We spoke to the staff about this but they said there was nothing they could do to fix it.It was a sunny summer day and we felt trapped inside that hot sealed room. I will have to think twice before going there especially when its warm outside :/

The place is a great night club. However, the yakiniku is ok for Pittsburgh and well below average JBBQ/KBBQ compared to the rest of the US. The food is clearly not catered to an Asian audience.I went to the AYCE J/KBBQ they offer every Wednesday which at the time was $48/person.There is no doubt that Cobra is one of the best night clubs in Pittsburgh. The inside is absolutely beautiful and spacious. DJ Bamboo is an amazing DJ. The music is great. Karaoke is an amazing experience.Unfortunately, I cant say the same for the JBBQ/KBBQ. While the venue was packed for the BBQ, I dont think its worth the price. I dont even know if the food is JBBQ or KBBQ.First, the JBBQ/KBBQ advertising is confusing. They clearly have yakiniku cuts and a legitimate yakiniku grill, but they also serve Korean banchan with the meal. While the yakiniku grill is top quality, its just weird to combine Korean and Japanese food with the BBQ. As a result, I feel because the focus is on too many elements, the BBQ quality takes a severe hit.Second, the banchan is by no means good. It felt like the banchan was made by a non-Korean still learning how to make them. The kimchi was sweet and lacked the fermented flavor. The cucumber banchan wasnt pickled. The list goes on. For a restaurant charging $48/person, the minimum expectation is good banchan passes a certain bar of flavor and it fails to deliver. We were given 5 options for the AYCE, which is somewhat unexpected for the price. The menu was missing samgyupsal (pork belly) but had beef and chicken galbi as marinated options. As well as unmarinated beef along with miso flavored shrimp and mushrooms. For the first order, you can order all of the options on the menu per person, but after, it is one option per person for the rest of the 90 minutes. When the meat came, it actually came in yakiniku sized slices. While this isnt a surprise because they also cater themselves as a JBBQ, that essentially raises eyebrows since this means that the Korean options arent cut in the traditional Korean way (thicker etc). One way to gauge the quality of KBBQ other than the banchan is the beef galbi flavor. The BBQ unfortunately fails the quality test. The beef galbi is the wrong cut of meat since they just marinated the unmarinated beef and called it galbi. In addition, the galbi wasnt even the traditional rib cut with the bones. And the sweetness of the meat was completely missing. Im not sure if it is because it is AYCE, but it felt like there wasnt enough marination time, nor was there enough ingredients to actually flavor the galbi correctly. I do understand that perhaps the BBQ may not be the main focus of Cobra, but for $48/person, the galbi misses the bar by many marks. It may be cheaper to take a trip to Columbus and eat at a legitimately higher quality AYCE KBBQ place than eat here.Other than that, the ssamjang was on point and the mushrooms were AMAZING. The shrimp was also great. The tech around the yakiniku grill was also top notch. The vent is at the grill level so your clothes wont smell smoky after eating.Would I come back to Cobra? 100000% Yes for the night club. Ill maybe come back for the non BBQ food. For now, I dont think the J/KBBQ is worth it.While its really the only ok option in Pittsburgh for K/JBBQ, the AYCE $48 price option is too steep. Ok, I feel they can charge this high because there is no competition currently. However, I feel the restaurant is confused with the BBQ options. The banchan is subpar, the meat cuts are JBBQ style with KBBQ names, the galbi meat cut was incorrect (at least from my experience), and the marinate is below average. Im just afraid the BBQ will be gazumped by the new options that will come to Pittsburgh soon.Id definitely try the BBQ again if either the prices go down or they stick to a certain market (JBBQ and KBBQ are different). Regardless, the night club section is amazing and hopefully you guys dont ban me bc of my review T.T because the place is special regardless of the food.

This was my first time going to a Japanese BBQ restaurant. I am a vegetarian and was worried I was going to leave hungry but I was very full and satisfied by the end. I got the vegan Rangoon, mushrooms for the grill and broccoli as a side. The potatoes that were part of the banchan were so good! The waitress was very accommodating and instead of using wagyu fat on the grill we used an onion. My boyfriend loves seafood and had the lobster and the seared yellowfin tuna and said it was amazing! The lemonades were also refreshing. We will definitely be coming back!

We ordered the oysters, caviar, wagyu beef fried rice, and two of the omakase 2. I would save your money on the caviar which I think was overpriced and didnt really fit the vibe, it was the same caviar presentation youd see anywhere else. The oysters were really good and it was cool seeing their take on a mignonette and cocktail sauce, but whoever shucked the oysters wasnt perfect and I found two bits in the oyster shells. The wagyu fried rice was extremely good and was a fairly generous portion. I would say that it was a good value, and it was nice having something additional to the meat and banchan to always have different flavors rotating around. The Omakase 2 was expensive, but I think was also a really good value and was the star of the show. There was a moderate amount of A5 wagyu, a significant amount of two other beef cuts, a marinated beef (galbi) that while tougher was one of the most flavor packed. It also came with several kinds of mushrooms and some spring onion that really get transformed by the grill. The trumpet mushrooms were one of my favorites. There were 5 banchan sides which I think were kimchi, a potato side, a bean sprout side, a spicy zucchini side, and a daikon side as well as a very good sauce. I do recommend dipping everything in either that sauce or soy and salting the meat as you prepare it. I dont recommend only cooking one side of the meat as we were advised to try as even though I can appreciate carpaccio and tartare I found the texture on that to not be great.I also tried the Suntory Toki Highball, Euphoria, and Soju Flight. The highball was far too sweet and one noted for me, but the Euphoria reminded me of a prickly pair margarita and was quite good. The soju flights I could have gone either way on, but they werent bad by any means. Their whiskeys are absurdly priced, and I think similarly to the caviar are essentially showing off tax. I am fairly sure you could buy a whole bottle of some of them at a state store for the price of a single drink there. The atmosphere was interesting. It appears (and I guess does function as) a dance club at the door. Theres a sort of ticket booth for a hostess stand, and a black neon lit kind of smallish dance floor. Around the corner is a cool looking little bar with restrooms down a hall past that. Restrooms were unisex with stalls which was kind of cool I guess, but I know ppl get weird with this so worth mentioning. There was some kind of Korean? quarter game outside the bathroom, but who in the US carries quarters...also kind of ick right beside bathroom... Tables have bench seating, are in a private dark area behind and hidden from the dance floor. Obviously there is a rounded mesh grill in the table which did make fitting all the food and drinks on the table a little clumsy, but not sure how they could have made that any better.I interacted with three staff members. The lady at the door asked us if we were there for Japanese BBQ, which I agreed, but felt confused as its Korean BBQ. A younger guy took our orders and seemed quite nice, but had to source others for questions reharding whiskey, but he did get the answers we needed. A middle aged gentleman who brought the food and had a very chef like aurap and answered our questions and described what to do. Overall fairly good staff.Parking was a bit of a mess, so maybe between that and the Soju flights, just Uber. The location also had some other restaurants around, but is in a weird traffic situation and there were a couple shady people roaming around. It must not be that bad as the doors were open to walk right in, but I caught a vibe.

We enjoyed our time here and most of the food, but it is expensive and definitely overpriced. We would try a bbq table again only if we had a large party and would order alacart over the omakase options. The wagyu and galbi were the true highlights. I didnt find any of the banchun particarily notable. The potatoes are better if you bbq them and then toss them back in their sauce. The daikon is incredibly boring, but we tried it a few different ways, the best of which was in the leftover galbi sauce and then grilled. There was also kimchee and two other dishes that I dont recall their names. One was some sort of pickled cucumbers; it was ok. The other was the best of all the banchans, but I am not sure what it was. Bokchoy?I was not a fan of the soju, redbull flight. Its also $24, which is kind of crazy because soju is so inexpensive (We usually buy a bottle at Korean restaurants). I was impressed with the Bubble Pop. The flavors blended well, and the drink was neither overly sweet nor tart. The decor and vibe were nice, and the bbq area was busy but not overly loud. We also checked into the karaoke prices, which I didnt see listed on their site. Its $30 for a half hour and $50 for an hour for up to ten people.

I dont like giving my credit card information online but I assume they have a cancelation policy. I just couldnt find it. We noted that we were there for my wifes birthday and our wedding anniversary on our reservation. Nothing was done with that info even though it asks on the reservation so slightly disappointed there.Parking is a pain but thats most places in Pittsburgh. The lot across the street is not for parking there and we saw tow trucks sitting there waiting for people. All in all, I probably wont be back. It was a cool experience but we spent over $250 for 2 people with their omakase 2, 1 starter, and a shared dish and that price seems way too much.

I definitely suggest ordering the omakase for the table it has a variety of different cuts of beef with different textures and flavor. Its definitely pricy but its worth the money. Great for date nights and you can fit up to 6 people at a table.

For $270, for two people, we got about ten ounces of meat, two mid alcoholic beverages, mushrooms we didnt like, an okay but not good appetizer, mood inappropriate music, and a inattentive service who didnt seem to want to deal with us, couldnt remember to bring a fork, disappeared for long stretches. If I wanted that type of dining experience I could have spent $60 and went to TGI Fridays.Gyu Kaku in Philly is a similar type of dining expeirence that is lower cost, higher quality, more attentive servers, more appropriate music, and better value. If you want the experience of this type of dining, take the road trip to Philly versus spending your money here.Edit:The manager reached out a week ago to say this. Unfortunately, the GM then never responded back after their initial email. So, yea, I guess their average experience isnt all that concerning to them.(Sent 2/21/24)9Hi Steve,I am equally disappointed with your experience here at COBRA as you are. It is simply not what you should expect from us.Given you took time out of your day to provide feedback, it gives me hope there is a chance to win you back and make this right. Went with my husband and sister-in-law. The atmosphere was super cool, we just kept wanting to look around at everything. The food...The ingredients were high quality and the presentation of the dishes was top tier but unfortunately we just didnt find most of the food memorable, which is what we would expect for the prices. We went with the Omakase 2 and added extra sides. We enjoyed the sesame potatoes and daikon best out of the banchan. The stand out meat for me was the galbi. Makes me wish the other meats had been marinated. If my husband and I would ever find ourselves back there, I would just order the galbi on its own.I got a side of cucumber salad and was not impressed by it at all; I ended up taking most of it home to doctor it up so the money wouldnt have gone to waste. However, my husband enjoyed his fries and my sister-in-law her kimchi mac & cheese. My advice would be not to order things just for the sake of having An Experience, just order what you know will satisfy you while youre there for a night of karaoke and dancing.

I dined at cobra last night and was extremely impressed by the flawless experience even though they’ve only been open for 2 weeks. The waiter was very helpful and the food was absolutely amazing. This was a far different experience from any other Korean bbq though, so you can’t walk in expecting to pay a small amount for unlimited food. It was a bit expensive and the amounts are pre determined. It was certainly enough, however, to leave with a full belly, and you could taste that the food was of high quality.

Excellent quality of meat, not authentically “Korean” barbecue though...I recommend you NOT getting the Omakase since ordering individual items turns out to be less expensive…Pros: - Quality of the meat is superb.- Environment is pleasingCons: - Side dishes are not as fresh as it should be for this price range...- They charged us 6$ for 4 pieces of lettuce (Ssam pack) that should be totally free at any Korean establishments- “Wannabe” Korean barbecue, more like Americanized Asian fusion…- A bit on the pricy side, save it for special occasions…

We were excited to try the restaurant for my fiances birthday and made reservations. However we both got food poisoning the day before. I called and left a message the day before saying we needed to cancel. I also the called the day of our reservation to confirm the cancelation. I was still charged $50 for not showing up. I get it that restaurants hate customers who make a reservation and dont show up without any notifications, but to call the day before and the day of with an adequate reason and still get charged a cancellation fee makes me feel terrible since we were already sick from food poisoning the day of her birthday. It made us feel like our choices were to either take a $50 cancellation fee or show up sick. Also the cancellation policy for most Pittsburgh restaurants is for larger parties. Were not NYC. Of course a large party of 10 people not showing up will screw up the nightly schedule, but a $50 cancellation fee for a party of 2 on a Sunday night? Very unethical and arrogant.

Excellent food with a different/enjoyable experience, cant say enough positive about both, 4.5 stars for it. The service, however, left a lot to be desired (1 star) as the waiter was rarely around and double charged my card bringing out the mistake receipt (not itemized) for me to sign and tip on. Unfortunately I was very distracted by conversation with my dinner guest and it didnt hit me until after I left and they were closed. I called restaurant next day, manager was extremely helpful assuring me the error was fixed the same night, however, the double tip was not returned as I hoped it would be. I want to believe it to be an honest mistake but both customer copy and signed copy of receipt were the double charged plus waiters demeanor along with his quickness of grabbing signed copy and taking itemized one (which Im used to getting) more than suggest he scammed me for a large tip.

I loved the food, but the service was very poor. I was expecting much more from this restaurant. It took far too long to get anything we asked for and we often had ask about our already ordered items. The server would rarely come to check on our group and when they did they often had empty hands and no updates!!!! Our reservation was made far in advance for my friend’s birthday. I tried to make everything easy for the server, the first time they arrived at the table I let them know that people would be paying separately and we informed them at that time who was with who. One of the couples were charged a gratuity fee!!! After dinner we stayed there waiting for the cupcakes that we brought to be presented. We stayed there so long I had get up and ask them to get things rolling. Our reservation was for 7:20 (our party had arrived on time) and it was 10 at that time. We finally got out of there at 10:30. Extremely disappointed with our service. Our birthday girl had fun but damn this is supposed to be a great restaurant?! Again the food and drinks were fantastic, once we got them.

Service was not great. We were seated quickly, but then waited 25 minutes to order drinks. Then the waiter argued with us when he forgot a drink. The food was over priced, and the cuts of meat in the Omakase were not very good. Everyone at our table had to spit out multiple bites because you could not chew them. The waiter also did not turn our grill up from low, or even mention that it needed to be done. We under cooked the first few cuts of meat because of that. The sides and rice were pretty small portions. We had to ask for a 2nd bowl of rice, and we had to ask multiple times to get it. When leaving we stood at the coat check for 5 minutes without seeing anyone, so we got our own coats from behind the counter and walked out. For a place that comes to over a hundred dollars per person, I would expect that every aspect be better than it was. I would never go back.

They didnt do anything wrong but I wouldnt go back for several reasons. The biggest reason I wouldnt go back is because of the lack of variety for the BBQ. There is another Korean BBQ restaurant in Pittsburgh that isnt fancy at all, but has much better options for the BBQ. Cobra does not have any chicken for the BBQ and instead of shrimp they have prawns with the head and shells on nor do they have pork belly which is my daughters favorite meat to cook on the BBQ. The portions are tiny too compared to the other restaurant which gives you a big plate of each meat you order. Cobra makes you pay for the lettuce too while the other restaurant serves it complementary. Cobra is fancy and dark and serves very fancy petite foods but that is not what I am looking for in a BBQ. I prefer a variety of meats to grill and a lot of food. I dont need fancy. I wanted to try Cobra because it looked so fancy and I thought the food would be wonderful. The food was okay. I was not impressed. They dont give you ice for your water, instead they have water on the table, which is room temperature that you serve yourself. Our waiter was also a bit snippy at times too. I will not go back. I will continue to go to my little hole in the wall Korean BBQ restaurant where the staff is super friendly and the food choices are abundant and the portions are plenty big.

My wife was so/so on the pork belly but loved the potato that came with the dish. We ordered the potatoes, French fries, and brocollini for appetizers. My wife said the French fries were awesome. I liked the char on the brocollini and the flavor profile. The potatoes came with caviar on top.My wife and I shared a piece of cake for dessert. I loved the buttercream icing. We enjoyed our meal, you cant go wrong with anything you order. That being said, try to keep an open mind - Cobra isnt traditional Korean BBQ. Its got a style of its own which wont disappoint you. Having been my first time at this establishment and my first venture into Korean BBQ I felt like the waitstaff was very patient and gave excellent answers as I asked questions, much needed questions too, since I was going to be cooking my own food and I wanted to make sure I didnt under/over cook anything. I ordered the Cobra Omakase 1 and the quality of food was superb, very fresh. The marinade used for the Bulgogi was so good that I almost asked to buy the marinade off of them. The restaurant I noticed was very progressive with gender neutral bathrooms and the lighting in there made me feel like I was in a movie. I also noticed the entire place was spotless, from the bathrooms, to the dance floor, to the VIP karaoke rooms, to the bar and the dining areas, it was all very clean, which I always appreciate. The dim lighting in main areas might have helped diminished any blemishes from being noticed. However the dim lighting could not hide the constant smiles on their faces of the employees there. This is the only grill-your-own-style KBBQ place in the area, and it certainly shows. The prices are FAR more expensive than restaurants in NY/NJ and Nova, the portions are smaller, and the food is just average.I was excited when this place opened because I had been missing grill style KBBQ since Sushi Kims old location closed. As soon as you walk in, you notice the upscale and trendy ambiance. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not meet those standards. The drinks are creative, but they were extremely watered down. The boba cocktails only had boba as a garnish, not as part of the drink. The meats and banchan were just okay. Nothing was particularly good or bad, but you expect more for >$50 a person. They didnt have side dishes to order like your traditional tteokbokki or steamed eggs. They had some fusion dishes that looked interesting but the portion was tiny for the price. The portion of meats we got was also not a lot, and its ridiculous that you have to pay for lettuce leaves that typically come with your meal. The service was great, although not as involved as other KBBQ restaurants where the servers will help cut and cook the meats.Maybe a cool experience for those new to KBBQ, but dont come here looking for authentic and good quality KBBQ.

You can join up with friends for karaoke after dinner! I rocked it with European songs (ABBA and Kraftwerk) but Im hoping my wife will destroy the evidence. A strong recommend!!!

INCREDIBLE!! From the impecable service (Amber & the gentleman who brought the bbq utensils, drinks and bowls of appetizers with the million dollar smile!!) to the food and the whole experience. Just my opinion...if youre going to do the grill/bbq..go for the gusto & get the Wagyu Beef. (the #2) Its phenomanal. Everything was just Perfect!

The overall experience at COBRA is nice- cool lounge vibes, good drinks, attentive and kind staff, and prompt service. My biggest critique with this restaurant is 1. its pricing and 2. its authenticity. Everything we ordered food-wise resembled fine dining prices with likewise portion sizes, aka expensive and very little yet the quality was okay. The tteokbokki only came with 2 skewers (and the rice cakes werent even fully cooked), mandu was 4 dumplings with no detectable kimchi inside, and the banchan for two separate meat orders consisted of only 4 small dishes (unsure if its unlimited refills or if you have to pay for more?). I also found it quite interesting how none of the banchan included kimchi, and that you have to pay an extra $5 for lettuce and ssamjang...ADDITIONALLY, Id like to think of myself as fairly forgiving when it comes to kbbq meats, but when our order of pork bulgolgi came out as a literal tiny pork loin that was simply sliced into rounds and slathered in bulgolgi marinade...yeah not what I was expecting to say the least. Taste-wise, the food was decent but lacked spice and most of the typical korean flavors you expect out of a kbqq. Our bill ended up being $120 including tip, yet my bf and I werent left full as most kbbq places leave you.TL;DR- cool place, but expensive white-washed korean bbq.

The first thing I loved about this place is the environment that he gives it is not the typical place you find in Pittsburgh and definitely gives you an out of town. The second thing is the servers and the way the place is set up is just spectacular compared to the rest of the competition around the city and Im glad that there is a more upscale type of restaurant here in the city that serves Asian fusion food. The third obviously is the food the different kinds of food they choose for the menu is definitely testing the taste buds of the people coming to this establishment. Me being a semi food critic self-proclaimed Hunter of food I like to think that this place hits the mark on the items that they are trying to convey and the ingredients are sourced well food is cooked spot on this is the first time that we ate there and we will make a attempt to come there again to see if the consistency is still there the only thing that was not spot on was the kimchi cucumbers they were fresh but it didnt have a real solid kimchi of what my taste buds like they werent fermented or pick holder fermented enough for my likings and they just tasted bland but in general the food was amazing the drinks were amazing The Establishment is set up perfectly and I cant wait to come back and this is one of my favorite places in the book already so thank you cobra.

Wow! What can I say. Tonight I felt like I was not in Pittsburgh but somewhere is a big city or even Europe. The vibes are great! The interior is different and modern. Food was outstanding. Delicious and certainly affordable. Drink menu was very interesting and very fun to pick from. I have to say there are not that many places in Pittsburgh where I want to come back. This is definitely one of those places. I am looking forward to come back! Thank you for creating this kind of place in Pittsburgh!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! We went here and the waitress was taking forever to get us simple things such as water. At one point we had to ask a different waiter for the water and he brought it out right away. She also took almost 45 minutes to bring us our food which was just raw meat. It shouldn’t even take 45 minutes if there cooking for you. What is even worse is the waitress would come by every ten minutes or so to tell us she is about to grab our stuff but then she wouldn’t. She also forgot many things and we ate our whole meal without water as the waitress kept forgetting to give us it. The food was decent but considering it takes 3 hours from when you sit down to eat it gets 1 star. I’m really disappointed as this an expensive restaurant where you expect top tier service yet I’ve had better service from fast food workers who don’t care to be there.

No diet coke was surprising but not as surprising as a flavored soju considering that this meal is supposed to be eaten with shots of soju and many folks dont enjoy unflavored. Making folks pay $6 for lettuce wraps (essential part of this bbq) is also unneeded and uncommon. They ran out of rice cake which is another essential food for the bbq. The mandu portion was tiny. Raw meat took an hour to come out, this surprised us, since we are doing all the cooking. We went with ala carte which is much more affordable than everyone paying $54 for the omakase. Otherwise the waitress was sweet, food was yum, but so many red flags.

If youre looking for an authentic KBBQ experience, COBRA will disappoint. Although their meat quality was great and their ambience is amazing, you will not get: full table service, sufficient quantity of Korean banchan/side dishes (that will not be refreshed), and flavorful marinades (galbi was *very* bland). What was bizarre was how tiny they cut the wagyu--something they took pride in--as that really took away from the full mouth-watering umami experience that wagyu is known for. Service was slower than Id prefer.Importantly: I am confused by an establishment that uses Korean language (literally uses a neon size saying 코브라) and offers Korean BBQ cuts, but fails to bring an authentic Korean touch to their dining experience. If COBRA straight up markets themselves as Korean-Japanese fusion, I wouldnt have an issue. But they dont. Feels like cultural appropriation, and at a high price point. 2/5 stars.

Food is way overpriced and incredibly mediocre. These people are spitting in the name of Korean bbq. I have never been to a korean bbq restaurant where they charge you $7 for lettuce, culturally that is part of the experience and meal. The kimchi and the rest of the banchan were either too salty to be palatable or completely tasteless.

As many times as I have been by this establishment I ah only recently had the experience inside. In these times we know as the great resignation, its hard to find a McDs thatll let you walk inside, let alone finding many of your favorite restaurants opened like they used to be. However this place was amazing. Now I dont want to go off on a rant here folks, but this steakhaus has the setting of a 90s Jackie Chan flick coupled with the most exquisite cuts of beef like A5 Wagwu procured, bonded, insured, and securely transported by ex Fort Knox, part time Hope Diamond guardian pros that look at handling the Stanley Cup as weekend side work. Upon delivery the package is carefully diced, measured, then plated cold but for a moment between landing and being forked onto your tables 30,000 BTU circular hibachi by you, the newly experienced customer who immediately slips into a poppey field bliss similar to Train Spotting, while the wine, sake, oysters, and beer flow Caligulesque, because its the first time you have really gone out, in almost 28 lunar cycles babe, and now you really wanna get out there and eat some meat, drink some beer and hit that bar, oh and that strip club, oh and f it lets go to A.C., nah f it, lets go to Florida son! Either way that night has to start at this place kids! Of course thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

The reason for the low rating is I dont feel I got what I payed for. We got the Cobra Omakase II. There were two of us and the meal is $68 a person. The portion was very small. We definitely thought they were going to bring out the other half of our meat.. the main reason we chose that meal was for the A5 Japanese Wagyu. Which was completely underwhelming. It was sliced paper thin . My toddler eats bigger chunks of meat than this.It was definitely a good experience but not worth what you pay for. Its very expensive for the the little bit of meat you get and for the fact that you are cooking it yourself.

Probably the only yakiniku in all of Pittsburgh. But fortunately theyre very good. If you get the Omakase with the wagyu its a really great deal. Largely because of the wagyu. Their wagyu comes from miyuzaki prefecture which people in Japan say is actually better than Kobe although, Kobe gets the name recognition.Either way, I highly recommend you try it out. Great food and reasonable prices.

Was out of waygu beef. Even when they called to confirm reservation made no mentionof it. The waygu wasnt substituted for something else in that meal tier. The marinated beef wasnt very good and the only thing saving it was dipping it in ponzu sauce before cooking it. The plain beef was much better IMO. The wife ordered a wasabi margarita and was told it was going to be spicy and there was no heat and all sweet. Did not have a hint of Wasabi flavor. The overall experience was good and fun but we felt it was over rated, over hyped, and over priced for what it was.

COBRA is the 2020s best foot forward in Pittsburgh nightlife and I am posting this just a few months into the new year. Made up of essentially 4 sections, the karaoke room/club/bar/Korean BBQ spot hides right under your nose off Main St. The outside is accented with purple lights and the entrance greets you with cobra shaped handles. Youre met by a huge backlit wall when walking in with a coat check on the right. My first time there, we were greeted by the manager who walked us to the bar area. The drink menu is out of this world and is strongly rooted by soju-based cocktails. Dream is my favorite. The music is loud on the dance floor but just low enough around the bar for conversing with friends. Check it out if youre looking for a new weekend hangout spot!
