Was it the cheapest motel around...ok yes, I admit that it was. So I booked it and even paid for the reservation. Im traveling by myself at this point of my trip when finally I pull into a motel parking lot with not a car or a soul in sight., its late and dark outside. There are lights over the doors on some of the rooms, but the majority of them are dark. Theres nothing situated around this place either, so im literally alone, at night, in the parking lot of some creepy hotel california but much more seedy. I walk to the office door and theres a sign saying this hotel is closed indefinitely. Now I have nowhere to sleep for the night, Ive already spent my money on this room, and now Norman Bates is going to come from the shadows and kill me at any second because theres nobody around d to stop him anyways. This was a bad experience. Dont book reservations online for this place.
Closed indefinitely for years. They still havent disabled the payment feature yet, so if you accidentally book with them, theres no one to contact to resolve the matter.
First off the man at the front office was very rude when we told him the pillow cases were filthy. When we showed him it he was like oh yeah! The rooms were absolutely filthy! There was no hot water at all. This in my 51 years of life was by far the worst place I have stayed. We had the room booked for five nights. After two nights we left and didnt even care about losing our money! Horribly dirty! Absolutely stay away from this place!
I booked my reservation 2 weeks prior to my stay and was NEVER able to speak with the local owner at any point. Instead, I was directed to an overseas call center every time I called to confirm my reservation. Now, on the day of my stay, Ive been informed that my reservation was canceled by the owner - who NEVER had a number I could reach them at, and now I dont have a place to stay since every hotel in Breckenridge is full with the Labor Day holiday! I DO NOT recommend ANYONE staying at this place, nor will I EVER try to stay there again. Horrible idea of customer service when you are a business so disconnected from your customer that you never know that they are there!
The reservations person over the phone spoke english but not in a way that could be understood and was not understanding what i was saying when i said slow down .The motel was on a side road. very shabby and small. the picture is of the office and it is not representing of the whole picture. We did stay the night due to the hour and our being tired after a very long day of driving. Upon opening the door to our room we were greeted by a huge bug on the bed. There was no soap, no shampoo, no hair dryer and the refrigerator was was of a type you would find in some ones garage or apt. It was rusted and unsightly and the freezer compartment had about 2 inches of ice/frost on every surface.NEEDLESS to say we wont be staying at any OYO rooms in the future
Book at The Ridge instead. Don’t bother with this location..Small town hospitality is not lost in Breckenridge except at this particular fisherman’s/ hunter’s OYO who may only need a cheap room for the bed. The fine owner not only shared his blunt, racist views for our prepaid rooms, but slammed the franchise to which he belongs making claims against OYO, itself, which coincidentally was the ONLY reason we booked online. Read these reviews people. I’ve travelled to this little town since the 1980s on business. The hotel, which looked clean and tidy at first glance, has big issues. Poor plumbing, Hair in the shower, and dirty vague crumbs in the medicine cabinet that indicate no thorough cleaning or inspection by the cleaning staff, if there were such a thing here. Best to keep your narrow-minded mouth shut with your paying customers. I’ll stay with a different OYO but never again at the Breckenridge TX location.
Booked online through Priceline. I’m working in the area. The man came to the door with a huge attitude. He basically asked me who I was and why I was there after having to wait several minutes at the locked door. He rudely told me if I booked through a discount place I wasn’t getting a room. It was prepaid. I felt uncomfortable/unsafe so stepped outside. He shut the door and locked it after telling me I had a problem online, not with him. I called Priceline. They said they won’t cancel. They made me drive back to the motel telling me they had already confirmed my reservation and the hotel was waiting on me to check in. They made me drive 6 miles back to that motel, knock on the door again, and he got angrier telling me no one talked to him and I didn’t have a room or reservation there. Shut and locked the door in my face again with Priceline on the phone. I’ve been sitting in this parking lot for an hour on the phone with Priceline trying to get a refund. Absolute humiliating experience. Aside from jays motel in Springfield CO this has been the absolute most unprofessional motel I’ve ever encountered in my 8 years of traveling for business.
Called number listed and set reservation drive out there to be told that he dont rent to locals and shut he door in my daughters face. She isnt local she was visiting and needed somewhere to stay the motel in town was very willing to give us a room with no problem. I also had a friend try and get a room while they were having some work done to their house and he told my friend he doesnt rent to N****** discrimination and very unprofessional. He also wouldnt rent to my brother who was visiting from Denton.
We had business in Breckenridge, we are truck drivers. So we generally wont book a room until we see if we can park our trucks, and we like to see the hotel before paying for it since weve been stuck in some less than desirable locations. This one was pretty cute from the outside, newly painted. 1 car in the lot so we knew we wouldnt have a problem with vacancy. It was 6pm, the office was dark and open sign was off. After knocking a few times an obese, sloppy, grey haired, angry man came to the door and said he didnt have any rooms. Puzzled, my husband asked why, he said because of the virus. Adding some colorful language in there and told us to stay safe luckily the only other 2 motels in town stayed open and we found a lovely, friendly place for the night. Everyone in town that we spoke with about it said hes an awful person and we was better off not staying there. We will gladly pay double again if ever in that area in the future.
I booked this hotel for my staff. They were delayed in travel and arrived a day late. We had tried to ring the hotel, but the number online was out of service. Innocent old me thought this shouldnt be an issue, it is not like this is a bustling area, its a town of 6,000. Tired we were hoping to check-in the day after our reservation was initially set for. When we got to the hotel at 10 PM the front door was locked. Knowing the number online was bad I called Expedia. After calling them many times, and them calling the hotel management company they informed me we were no-shows and they would not let us check-in. I was shocked they were going to just take all my money and refuse to let me check into our rooms. Keep in mind I fully paid for these rooms, and no one else was at the hotel. One would think they would rather fill empty rooms but this is not the case, theyd sooner rob you. I travel across the country for work, never have I had service this disgusting. If you like being robbed this the place for you, others go down the road to Ridge motel.
Only one very thin towel and one very thin wash cloth per person. Towels were heavily stained. They should have been thrown out and replaced. Bathtub was stained and had half of a stick-on no-slip mat that was peeling up. Hot water was hooked up backwards to tub faucet markings. It was a very cold shower in the morning until the reversal was discovered. A spider in the bathtub, a beetle and a baby cockroach shared our room too. The gravel parking lot had plenty of deep holes to drop your tires into. Given the conditions, the price was excessive. I would not recommend this place.
Stayed here for three very comfortable nights. The staff is superb - friendly and helpful. This is from the front desk through breakfast staff to the cleaners. Rarely can you say that. Room was sufficient for a short stay. The bed was comfortable with a pile of pillows to choose from. Bathroom had a new shower (apparently) which was fine
Hubbard Creek TournamentThis is what happened to people that where fishing in the Texas High School Bass Tournament. This placed is just canceling reservations without notification. For no real reason besides he does not want you at his place. He is doing it to people that booked online. From what we are being told he has canceled 30 reservations. If you have booked with this place you might not have a room.
Perfect location, next to the Dolby Theater and Walk of Fame. Metro minutes walk and one station to Universal Studios. Rooms are large.. We were on a family holiday, 13 of us, we had three rooms, and kitchen facilities were a bonus when travelling with kids. Breakfast was a plus and Staff, the breakfast lady, was amazingly helpful. Kids loved the place. One night we ate takeaway Pizza on the rooftop garden. Great place to stay would highly recommend.
Beware of this place, the guy in the front office whom called himself the owner was extremely unprofessional and even admitted if I booked it online hotels.com which was giving me a cheaper price than him, he would cancel my booking. Which on hotels.com someone else enlisted a review stating this exact same thing, but their cancellation was done once they had arrive, this can cause extreme inconvenience specially for business trips. stay away from this place
As soon as I enter the office door without saying a word..I was treated rudely and very uncomfortable. I traveled 8 hrs to this location just to be insulted, even though we already paid.. once I walked in the room.. I was so upset that I was sick to my stomach. We didn’t even stay there, I just put the key in the room and took off.Guy said where my family was from was full of “ fairies and Q…”Worst experience ever and I’ve been to a lot of places. I pray God be with youNow if you want better service and cleaner rooms I would go down the road and stay at Ridge Motel.
This accommodation is one of the best we have stayed at. Looks nothing from the outside, but our suite was fabulous. Lovely outdoor place area, everywhere is nicely maintained, all the staff are knowledgeable and cannot do enough to make your stay amazing, especially the breakfast lady who is a gem. Would definitely book again if staying in TX
Worst possible customer service from the guy that claims he owns this place. Called the number on google for the hotel to make a reservation and prepaid an entire week for an employee. When the employee arrived after driving 5 hours to stay here for a near by project the “owner” turned him away on a Sunday evening saying he will not accept any bookings that are less then what he wants to charge. If this is the case then take your hotel off of booking websites and google and maybe pay your debt to OYO who by the way pretty much owns the place hints the name.
If possible I wouldnt even give it one star.Manager/owner or what his title may be, came out cussing at me for trying to check in. Online states they offer amenities. However there is none. No ice, no towels. Room was visibly dirty with a smell. I brought this to the managers attention, and I was mocked for bringing it up. He said he would ignore any further requests, and bragged about lying online about his offered amenities
Hotel was absolutely wonderful in every way! This was my first time in TX and Breckenridge TX Hubbard Creek Lake Hotel TX did not disappoint! Truly amazing. Location was perfect, hotel is literally attached to Dolby theatre, shopping, restaurants, and more and has so much to offer even on hotel premises. Love love love this hotel. A bit pricey, but worth it!
Great place to stay over while fishing on Hubbard Creek lake. This is a very basic hotel, at these prices amenities are sparse. Bait and tackle store next door open at 6:30 a m. Boat launch is right across the street. The facility is well secured, I had no worries leaving my boat outside the hotel. Parking lot as well lit at night.
I stayed here Feb 2022. The man who checked me in was professional and friendly. The rooms did need a little touch up, however it was tidy and home-like. It is right by the busy highway so you do hear all the traffic but at night, its not so bad. I will stay here again the next time Im in town.
Absolutely fantastic hotel! The staff is so helpful and the hotel is in a fantastic location close to the central and the palace! When we checked in, we were given free breakfast each day which is a brilliant choice! They also throw in a free afternoon tea! Well worth the money and will definitely be back!!
This is the perfect place to stay to experience Breckenridge TX Hubbard Creek Lake. Right in the middle of everything. We parked our car & walked everywhere. It was very busy when we arrived on a Friday evening, but Check-in was speedy & accommodating. This hotel is very has a very modern feel.
This beautiful boutique hotel is right in the heart of Hubbard Creek Lake, perfect for visiting all of the tourist attractions; everything is within short walking distance. The hotel itself is set in the vibrant area with quaint bars and restaurants right on the doorstep, discretely located in a side street the stunning building looks nothing special from outside the glass doors but inside it has all the warmth and charm of Hubbard Creek Lake.
This place is closed! Do not book! They will take your money but won’t give you a room!
Booked a reservation online not very long before I got there. Old man was very rude. I booked it for Monday night through Friday. At $60.00 a night on my end. After we got there. We where less that 10 min away he tell me thats not the right price and basically tells us no hes not giving us a room. I wasnt rude. He has a rude demeanor the entire time. I would go somewhere else. Its kinda like he knew I booked the room online then he raised the price to 70 a night..I would just beware. Hes not the most pleasant person. Probably why he had only 2 people staying there. Im sure hell be out of business quit soon if he continues with it. He said he had ram off 4 costumers the day before.
This place was absolutely horrible... the hot water was almost non existent, no trash can and when we did get one, it was filthy, the heater was so noisy you couldn’t sleep so we wound up and turned it off. Ther is no phone to use in the room and the bed was so hard that my back hurt the next morning. And to top everything off, there was a dog inside a kennel that barked incessantly every time a car passed...veeerrrry annoying!!! Will not stay here again
Dont bother. The people running this place are crooks. Booked online and paid. Showed up to be told they wanted almost double the money to check in but wouldnt refund what was already paid online because them refusing the online price they said was canceling after check in time.I really hope KARMA finds them soon.
Fantastic time at the Turner Classic Film Festival......they recommended your hotel and the location were perfect. We liked the staff and restaurants, including the dining available in the lobby bar. Excellent food and beverages, and quick service, too.
No telephone. Clerk said lightning took out telephone pole, but the phone cables are running underground. (underground phone cables connect to green box at corner of building.) roach carcasses in dresser drawers. No ashtrays in smoking room. No hot water. Rusty fridge in room. No outlets by bed to plug the alarm clock in or a c-pap machine. The doors dont have an inside deadbolt or chain to keep anyone else with a key out when your inside. We checked in at 3pm. Left, came back at 10pm. Now I know why our car was the only one at 10pm and 7am when we left. Never again!!!
The place is a dirt lot parking lot next to a highway, not attractive.I inspected a room. The mattresses were saggy, old, and worn down, with stains on the side.I would not stay tthere.Looking at the other reviews, including the ones on Tripadvisor, I noticed that all the good reviews were posted in the span of the same month, probably the same day, by the same reviewer.
Motel owner refused to give us our reservation rooms. Insulted us, and even sueared to us. Wanted to charge us extra fees out of nowhere and threatened to call the cops on us. Not even for free I would stay there now.
Stayed here in for a week in June, the location was great even though it is situated by a busy highway not once did we have any problems with noise. Check in was very quick with friendly staff, parking was a bit expensive but at the end of our stay got offered to join the Holiday Inn club of charge which included discount parking.
First off do not book with this place. I booked a room and 30 min later they canceled it and they wouldnt do a thing about it.All they said was you will get your money back with in 7 to 14 business days. And they tried to charge me a cancelation fee. This is the worst place ever do not book with them
No hot water from shower. Clean sheets but get ready to bath from sink. Old rusted fixtures. Would give it a half star def not worth the money. If you Pay a little more for one of the other hotels you won’t be sorry.
Congrats!!. Very good hotel. With a very clean rooms, delicious breakfast and really good location. It is near to the main theatres, walking Fame Street. The check in and checkout were very fast. Thanks for the cordial welcome.
Do not book here. It is a scam!! The hotel is closed has been for months!! 6-28-23. No water they can’t even pay their water bill. Do not book here!!!!
There is no working number for this business. My husband and I were going for a weekend get away and I needed to get ahold of them to see about our rooms and basically just got the run around. Also they robbed me of my money. Needless to say I will not be staying here again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Ended up staying at the regency hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay as Breckenridge TX Hubbard Creek Lake. The staff was great, very accommodating and provided a number of recommendations on good restaurants and places to see. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, allowing one to walk to most of the major tourist sites.
Very pleasant experience. Tiny spot in middle of Nowhere, TX (LOL) but the owner, John, was just as nice as he could be. It is an inexpensive but clean little place. Served its purpose well. In middle of night I couldnt sleep so went outside to walk around a little and hope to see the stars. Well, behind the motel was a freshly mown lawn with 2 brand new round tables with six comfortable chairs. I sat and looked at the stars about an hour. The best part was it is only 20 more miles to Albany where they have the BEST steak in Texas. OMG, the kind that you can cut with a fork. 10 oz rib eye, $25, in Dallas that would have been a $50 steak. I love the nothingness of West Texas. Good luck on this business John!
Its a roadside motel, cheap. Beyond that, not so great. Tub had dead bugs and live bugs in it when i arrived. No toiletries at all, no soap, shampoo, nothing. There are no cups in room to have a drink with. I would not reccomend this place to anyone.
Terrible... some sort of mental issue with the bald man hes cussing and screaming then speaking calm, then back screaming again... seriously yelling at the top of his lungs... dont come here all the bad reviews are real and the good ones are obviously bought fake reviews as you can tell by the way its typed and the name/picture of the Google profile.
We stayed 5 nights at the Breckenridge TX Hubbard Creek Lake. This was our second stay at the Castle. Pros: Excellent customer service, big rooms with cooking facility, breakfast included (even with vegemite available for us Aussies), location, place, popsicle hotline, free DVD rental, a range of snacks available including soda and ice cream and finally... free washing service (do it yourself or they will do it for you).
Do not go here this location is closed and is no way to have your money back after you make the reservations
The incredibly rude man who checked us in immediately went into an irrational racist rant about everyone but white people, ending it by calling the owners of the chain rag heads. The shower was so slippery I had to stand on a towel. We left after one night and we’re charged for two. Never again.
Best place in Breckenridge- you can walk anywhere. The hotel right nears the central and real city. Very helpful staff- did their best to fulfill all my requests and wishes. The room was very nice, clean and cozy, even though not big
The price was excellent, the room could use some updates, the fridge was so rusty and almost gross looking but the ac worked and the bed was very comfortable.
DO NOT BOOK, still taking reservations but is CLOSED!
Absolutely horrible staff. We accidentally lost our key card & the old man began cussing us out and accusing us of lying. We even offered to pay extra for it. Very very mean! Would give it zero stars if I could.
We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights at the end of breckenridge. The reception staff checked us in and gave us lots of information about the city and the events for the weekend . We arrived earlier than expected and were offered some cava while waiting for our room to be ready...
This hotel needs to be boycotted, canceled 30 reservations for a Highschool fishing tournament, with no reason, and apparently it has happened other times as well do not recommend staying here for any reason.
Hotel is closed and they still took $84.00 from me and refunded me $2.00, $2.00 for a closed Hotel!!!!OYO and the manager refused to pay me my money back.$82.00 is fixing to cost them alot more!
Came to stay for the weekend and our AC didnt work. We tried to get a new room but he refused because we already trashed our room.
The employer was not friendly at all paid over 100$ there was no toilet paper no shampoo or conditioner or body wash!!! This guy was very rude towards us NEVER again will we go back there
This is a junk hotel with extremely rude owners. They cancel reservations and dont honor the prices from online booking.
Man was so rude I didnt even ask to rent a room. Dont go here. If I could have given a no star I would have. The front desk personal actually tried to pick a fight with me. Can you believe this.
Mr. ButCh and his housekeepers Mrs. Wendy and her mom are all EPIC INDIVIDUALS. IVE BEEN HERE GOING ON 3WEEKS. DONT BELIEVE THE BAD RATINGS...COULDVE BEEN BAD PEOPLEGOD BLESS ALL
Canceling reservations for HS students and families that are going to fishing tourney. Worthless attitude and customer service.
Booked over a month ago then at the last minute wouldnt honor online booking. Beware. Still trying to get my refund
A little dirty and friendlyish staff. Beds are soft and its quiet . I like the fact that was close to the lake and right by the bait shi
The hotel is under new ownership and I love the new improvements and the excellent customer service that I was provided. Highly recommend.
Hunters lodge. Comfortable, quiet. The owner is great. Would enjoy another visit next time through.
Paid for a room to find out it was not even open & had been shut down for 2 1/2 months
Very nice owner. Room was tidy and place was quiet, except the road.
Whatever you do dont stay at this Motel it is infested with bedCreepy just creepy
My friends stay here often.. laid back kind of place.
It wouldnt let me do zero stars.
Very affordable with nice comfortable rooms!
Not fancy, but American owned, and friendly.
Remodeling the whole place, going to be great!
