Massage Envy

When I can get a massage, it works out well. The people and services are great.However, theres little availability on the app, calling in to book appointments requires extra steps & is tedious, and Im just overall unimpressed with the process behind it. Ive had to go to other locations across town to get fit in, but they cancel on me far too often to be helpful (2x this month alone).The branch manager did call me back when I asked, but his options were just call in and well try to help as opposed to the refund I asked for.It stops being relaxing and enjoyable when I have to do this much work to get a simple appointment in a reasonable time period.

Been going to Massage Envy for many years! I have enjoyed wonderful much needed massages from great therapists like Sara, Heather. Also in the past: Gabby & Sasha! They have all been very intuitive in working the right spots & areas. Communication from everyone is great! LOVE Anitra!!! She is excellent!!!

This place used to be terrific, but ever since the pandemic, its been just okay. You need to schedule well in advance, like a month or more in most cases, which makes it difficult when you have an immediate need. The massages seem more about relaxation as opposed to deep tissue or perhaps a sports massage. The place is every clean and welcoming and the staff is always pleasant.

Wish google would allow me to leave ZERO stars. Really unfortunate for a facility built around self-care to cause such a poor experience. Literally had a massage therapist FALL ASLEEP SNORING during a massage. Only seemed interested in scheming you into some locked contract with such limited availability it wasnt worth paying a monthly fee to never get into schedule a massage. Do NOT sign up for a membership at this location!

Absolute joke of an establishment. Had a massage scheduled for 2pm on Saturday and I got a call at 1:30 pm saying the masseuse could no longer make it due to a medical emergency (I was already in route to the location). I was able to reschedule for the next day at 11am. I woke up on Sunday morning feeling covid symptoms and called the location as soon as they opened at 10am to reschedule. I was told I would still be charged a cancellation fee for such short notice & that the fee could not be waived despite me being cancelled on with much shorter notice only a day prior. Manager even suggested I still attend the appointment despite my Covid suspicions. This company does not care about their customers or their employees. Do not recommend.

Terrible service. Book appointment online website confirms appointment. Walk in at time of appointment and I am told sorry Im not in the system. Wasted my whole day expecting to get a massage at this location when I could have went somewhere else.

Everything was so great! The customer service from Taylor over the phone, being assisted by April from start to finish and I got lucky enough to get in with Jenny who did a great job of targeting exactly what I needed! Great experience! And I’m glad I joined with the membership to make sure I keep taking care of myself!Update: I keep forgetting to add how great Anitra is also! I’ve had her the most at this point and she always does an amazing job!

I came in for a custom facial with Bryn. Everything was wonderful and much needed. She was extremely helpful in informing on what products to be used to improve my skin without overselling me on anything. I’ve been to places before that would pull 7 different products and making me feel like I had to purchase. Bryn showed me 2 products but was not pushy at all. I have to say this is probably the best facial I’ve ever received and my skin looked so much younger after. I will definitely be going back for another. Thanks Bryn.

Had a customized facial with Bryn and she was absolutely wonderful. Super knowledgeable and friendly and had great recommendations for my skin care routine. Facial was great and came with a shoulder massage. Front desk staff also very welcoming and friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

Started a membership and my first massage was a 90 min appointment with Heather. It was fantastic. A great firm to deep tissue and I felt so relaxed after. Hope to be able to find availability on her schedule again next month.

Wayne is an exceptional therapist. Personable, professional and proficient. He intuitively knows what areas to focus on and I always leave feeling 10 years younger and pain free. I cannot recommend him highly enough; I wish 10 stars was an option! Gerard, Taylor and the front desk staff are so friendly and helpful; I genuinely enjoy talking to them. My frequent visits are one of the top highlights of my week.

Ive been seeing Heather consistently for a few months now and she is amazing. Professional, yet easy to talk to, adjusts pressure when needed, very accommodating.All of the staff that Ive met from this location have been warm and welcoming. I love the waiting area with the soothing music and dim lights. Highly recommend!

Anitra provided THE BEST MASSAGE I’ve ever experienced! She was a delight! I left my appointment feeling so much better physically and mentally. She seriously made me week. Thank you Anitra! I look forward to seeing her again.

This is the best Massage Envy! The front staff is professional yet friendly. The masseuses are so great that they are often completely booked for weeks. Thats a downside for customers, but proves the quality. After a little bit of time going ,there, they know who you when you walk in the door and are friendly and helpful. I wish the MEs in the Atlanta area were run as well.

Just moved from Arlington/DC area and this is a very clean, nice facility and very spacious. I had gotten a cancellation opening with Sheila, who was phenomenal. I am a fitness instructor with a lot of issues from tight hip flexors, neck problems, etc, and she did a great job addressing all of my areas of concern and providing feedback and recommendations on spots to make note of to work on in the future when I book with her. Super professional and relaxing presence as a therapist. Definitely will be back with her - she is awesome!!

Overall I love ME!... the only complaint I have is how hard it is to book your next appointment & get the person you would like to have! Yesterday I was told there were NO available slots for a massage for the month of June or July! I don’t understand why...? Are they understaffed? Too many people booking ahead?But on a better note, I had Chris yesterday! He is my favorite! He is so knowledgeable & professional! It’s almost as if he can read your mind! I was charged for 6 months of services in their prepay package, when no appointments were available at all, even close to impossible when on the waiting list. Great massages if you can get an appointment but dont expect to get your moneys worth, sadly. Once you cancel you get a limited time to use up any unused funds, but again, when there are no appointments available, its money thrown away.

My therapist Heather is always pleasant, professional and gives a great massage. Gerard is very friendly and helpful checking in & out as well as booking future appointments. I always look forward to my monthly appointment. Thanks Message Envy!

My mom sees Wayne and gifted me a session with him while I was visiting. He is truly one of the best at his art! He is so professional, tells you everything you need to know and makes you very comfortable, and I felt completely comfortable relaxing and zoning out which is what I needed. He checks on the pressure and everything is feeling OK and really just allows you to enjoy your session. I would recommend him to anyone especially athletes!

Jenny was amazing as usual! I have been a member of West Ashley Massage Envy since 2015 and could never imagine being with a different masseuse or company! Jenny always has the perfect pressure amount and she really tries to work the areas you’re having issues with and I leave feeling better and more relaxed every time!

Chris is a great massage therapist! He listens to my explanations of my problem areas and adjusts his routine to accommodate my needs and provide the best care possible. He regularly checks in to see if his pressure is comfortable and offers suggestions on how to improve my overall being in between visits! I highly recommend his services!

I recognize people are busy or possibly short staffed however they withdraw money monthly and I see that as a monthly massage which is very important to me, I finally find a good therapist there and go to reschedule and each time the visit is further out for availability, most recently 3 months. So after many years with massage envy I am ending my subscription and going elsewhere, they did not even have me discuss why or anything just handed me paper and no thank you for years with them.

Sheila is awesome! I’ve had many massages in my lifetime and I’ve never had the kind of massage that she gives! It is like she can see through my skin and see exactly where my problems are! She has a gift! Everyone at Massage envy is always very friendly and professional!

Sheila is the best massage therapist Ive ever seen. If youre looking for someone with extremely firm pressure you will not be disappointed with Sheila. She is professional and wonderful at communicating. I always leave feeling 1000% better. She always helps relieve my constantly tight back, shoulders and hips and the little reminder to breathe is always appreciated.

As usual, Jenny provided me with an excellent massage. She always attempts to discover your needs and if she finds an area that requires more attention she suggests you allow her to devote more time there. I always leave refreshed and very thankful that my wife referred me to Jenny.

I have to share my MANY experiences with Massage Envy - West Ashley (975 Savannah Hwy, Charleston, SC) and Houston Northcut. I had been a client of theirs for more than 10 years. They had a massage therapist shortage and were still charging my card EVERY MONTH at full price for MONTHS and months. I wasnt able to book ANY massages that were built up (more than $600 worth) due to this, so they were charging money without ANYONE (not just me), not being able to book or use the services. They are STEALING money from their customers, when they Can NOT book services. I tried to book at other locations, but they charged more fees- I paid it anyways. They then CANCELLED my account without a signature, so I was unable to use up my credits. The robbed me of over $500! I am SURE they are doing this to others. If you are a member of the West Ashley store, I highly suggest using your credits ASAP elsewhere bc they will CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT without your permission. Then I booked at Mt Pleasant. They cancelled 3 appointments on me. I text them back and called back and left MULTIPLE messages to rebook. No one ever did. I finally reached someone after 3 weeks of trying. Megan promised me she would work with me on my remaining credits, but when I was told I had to pay (2 hours before my massage), that she WOULD NOT honor my credits and they are charging me full price for the massage!!! WHAT A JOKE! Speaking to their manager, Dustin, and Megan in Mt Pleasant is a complete waste of time. The worst customer service in Charleston. You can go to the mall for a walk in massage thats cheaper and WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. Massage ENVY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AT ALL. GO ELSEWHERE.I understand the one in Savannah has already closed down with some research I have already done.

Super disappointed with this business, joined the membership program and could never get an appointment due to lack of available appointments. Then you are bound to a 12 month agreement so I built up a ton of credits that I couldn’t use. Ended up having to go to the Mount Pleasant location to use as many as possible once I was finally able to cancel. Tried to transfer one of my remaining credits to a friend and was told that’s not possible since I’ve now cancelled my membership. This is such a scam to have been bound to a 12 month agreement when they are booked out for months. I also felt like I was being talked down to by the staff whenever I called to try to resolve these issues. Thought this would have been a nice way to relax and unwind as a physician working during the pandemic, all it did was create more stress. I already contacted better business bureau.

I cant thank Jenny enough for all she has done foe me and my back. After two back surgeries has has been a blessing. Jenny knows her stuff and is very professional. She will work with you until she finds what is causing your problem she just doesnt give you a message, she will let you know if she finds a problem area and workout a plan to help get it resolved. Its a great place for routine massages but hard to get appointments because there are not enough therapists on staff. I will find someone I like and not be able to get into them for 2 to 3 months like Jackie and Wayne. Otherwise, its an inexpensive place to go for monthly massages.

I usually am not one to write reviews, but in this case, I just had to. I absolutely love this place! The girls at the front desk are so friendly & welcoming. They made me feel right at home and went above and beyond to accommodate me and pair me with a wonderful therapist.The massage I received by one of the male therapists was, by far, the BEST massage Ive ever had. The front desk girls paired me with him based on my needs, and I was impressed by such a knowledgeable staff.My only recommendation for anyone new to Massage Envy would be to book in advance. This specific location & the therapists there are in very high demand, so just be sure to schedule an appointment a few days ahead.Trust me, you will love this place!!!!

I have been a happy member of this location for about two years after having been established at other locations out of state. This location has been my best experience by far. The front desk staff are always attentive and polite. My schedule is a little hectic so I’ve worked with four different masseuses who have all been wonderful. They have their own unique styles but all seem very knowledgeable. I notice a huge difference in my overall well-being since establishing myself. Highly recommend them.

Friendly and helpful front desk staff, amazingly talented massage therapists! Heather has been working on eliminating some long term knots in my back, and she is doing an incredible job. Relaxing and pain relieving! Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a good deep tissue massage then she’s your girl. I’m a bigger guy so it’s been hard to find someone strong and able enough to get those deep, inner parts of your muscles that hurt, especially for 90 mins straight, and she definitely knows how to get them worked out. I can’t express enough how much she has helped me and don’t be shy, ask and she will help!

*uodate* Now three months post-partum I’m and still seeing Bryn… my monthly “relaxation facial” is even more crucial these days! Love that she tries products to address whatever issues I bring up and is always happy to discuss what she’s using. She never makes me feel rushed and takes the time to look up things for me if she doesn’t have an answer right away. Thank you Bryn!Being 7 months pregnant and having difficulty with sleeping, I was really looking for a relaxing experience. I decided to go for a 90 minute custom facial. Bryn provided my first facial at massage envy and out of all the facials I’ve had at various other places, this was by far the best!! Incredibly relaxing and my face felt and looked amazing after she was done! Bryn is now my go to girl and I am booking regularly with her.

I’ve been going to this location at Massage Envy for almost 2 years. My previous massage therapist stopped working here during the third trimester of my pregnancy. She specialized in prenatal massages and it was such a pleasure to have that done during my twin pregnancy. Shortly after being able to return, per COVOD guidelines, I decided to book a massage with Caroline. We have such great conversation, she recommends the best self-care and wellness tips to me, and always make sure that I feel comfortable and I am aware of what’s going on every single appointment. I would highly recommend Caroline, but I don’t want to get her booked up as much as she already is. Haha!

Bryn is amazing. During my service I’m always comfortable and relaxed. I tend to fall asleep everytime that’s how relaxing it is. She is so sweet and very informative. I really appreciate her services.

I’ve been seeing Chris for a year now, and don’t know how I lived without him before! Sitting at a computer all day takes a toll on my neck, but Chris always makes my neck feel better. I book my appointments 3 months out with him to ensure I get him!

This was my first massage with Wayne. Hes friendly and professional. He was very intuitive and really able to hone in on areas of tension. His draping techniques left me comfortable. Everything was excellent.

Cherie is amazing! She always checks on the pressure level even though I’ve seen her a million times. She’s a great therapist. My fiancé loves seeing Alyson as well.

While the massages may be great, trying to book an appointment is literally impossible. They have no problem taking money out of my checking account every month, but will not hold up their end of the contract! No availability for 3 months at a time...but you charge monthly? When we decided to end our contract (purchased in decenber and have been able to use it twice due to YOUR UNDERSTAFFING) as they arent capable of fulfilling their agreement we were told we arent able to do that. But no other option or remedy was offered.After weeks of back and forth with the manager and owner, we have stopped payment with our bank and will escalate further if we have to.The subscription was purchased as a gift for my husband who is a trauma nurse in one of the local Emergency departments. We will be going elsewhere and discouraging anyone from using massage envy again.Youre stealing from your customers.

Caroline is Fabulous! She is very attentive to my needs and is a true professional. I have been a member for two years now and it is the best decision I have made as a full time teacher and mom!

We visited while on vacation.Sarah my masseuse was EXCELLENT! Thought we booked 90-minutes but apparently only and hour. Sarah hit all the needed areas. I would gladly have had her as my massage therapist any/every time! Give that young lady a raise! Thank you.

Caroline is an amazing therapist who provides consistent deep pressure throughout the massage, which is exactly what I was looking for after trialing many massage therapists in the area. Im so glad she was suggested to me and plan on seeing her regularly!

Caroline is amazing!! I have a ton of tension in my neck and knots and she was attentive and really worked to get those knots out. It was the best massage I’ve ever had.

The manager was not very professional. I was a 1st time client and will NEVER book with them EVER again. They are not upfront with fees, or policies. When you asked questions she got on the offensive. Talked down to me like I was trash. I asked if the franchise owner would call me to discuss, She said she would relay the message. Have not heard from anyone. I alsonconracted corporate all you can do is leave a message. I normally dont leave bad reviews but this one I needed to let you know about. Scam.

Ive been going to massage envy for a couple of years now. It has always been at other locations and Ive never had a problem. Well I moved closer to this location in West Ashley and what keeps happening is they are moving my appointment dates to the next day and then cancelling that appointment bc somebody couldnt make it in. They want to charge me if I do a same day cancellation but when they do it, they just move the schedule to a different date. I will drive a little further to go to other locations that have better work ethic

Bryn was unbelievable. She made me feel great and is extremely good at her job. I booked my next appt already. I would highly recommend her!

Heather is an EXPERT masseuse! Her deep tissue massage is so good. Its obvious she knows her anatomy and what muscles are affected by what activities. And to prove her expertise, she is SO in demand, that I cant even book another appt with her until January! Can you clone her, please?

I have been going to Heather for several years and always leave feeling completely relaxed and restored. She is an amazing therapist and hits all the aching spots and I never feel like any area has been neglected.

Wayne is a fantastic therapist! He understands physiology and specializes in deep tissue work. I have scoliosis and need a lot of work on my shoulders and back to relieve tension caused by the alignment of my spine. Wayne is the best!

Love Chris, he has helped me get back to a more normal life with my injuries. Chris is hands down the best therapist. I have been seeing him for 4+ years and he has made such a difference in my quality of life.

Trying to get an appointment here is very difficult. They automatically take a monthly charge from your account and then no availability for a massage. I have been a member for many years but that doesnt seem to matter to them. I may need to look for another company.

Yesterday was my first tome at the West Ashley location and Chris was supurb!!!!! Definitely worked out all my kinks and was very verbal with his intensity level as I advised I had a cervical fusion on the 22nd so he had to be gentle in certain areas.

I got to see Sheila Mae for some TMJ and upper body work. She is a true master of her craft, very soothing atmosphere, and exceptionally knowledgeable. 10/10 recommend.

I am a ME member and I love this location. Everyone is friendly and my therapist, Ryan, is Excellent!! Some stores can be a bit pushy about the add ons and that can be anniying, this place is pretty low key and I like that. They are super busy so I would recommend, booking your next apt. prior to leaving. Enjoy

I really enjoyed my experience here. Marissa works magic with the hot stone therapy. Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership for financial reasons, but hope to rejoin eventually. I would highly recommend the West Ashley facility though I am aware that the others in the area that are probably equally as great (maybe) :-).

Wasnt quite the experience I was looking for. Ribeye was slightly above average, oyster Rockefeller were overwhelmed with bread crumbs. Could not really taste the oyster. Drinks were on point though. Will return for another visit. Service was very professional.

Caroline gave me the BEST massage experience EVER! I don’t want to recommend her because then she won’t have time to see me. But she was fabulous.

Therapist was fine. The unavailability of appointment times is unacceptable. Offered one time in August which I could not do. Next time October 30th.Three months between appointments is not a good situation for a long time client. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

If you were ever thinking of joining, save yourself the disappointment and just pay full price with an independent therapist. As a former therapist and ME employee and now work in hospitality, this place just doesn’t know how to get it right. When I signed up my gut was telling me I’d regret it but I just wanted to give it a chance. Always listen to your gut!

My therapist was very astute and informed me about swelling on my body that was not normal which prompted me to go get seen by my medical provider helping me become aware of a potential health problem! This was a very astute observation and much appreciated by Chris! Thanks so much!

Every massage therapist has been on point: Jenny, Anitra, and James just to name a few of my favorites! Wonderful front desk staff always, always super helpful!

Massages cut short, rude staff at the front desk, appointments made without consent, accounts charged for such appointments, argumentative phone clerks, volatile and nasty aggressive blonde clerk with glasses, management struggled to receive customer complaints, horrible experience on more than one occasionId recommend the mount pleasant locations. This one has a bad reputation of treating customers poorly.

Bryn was so professional. She recommended the Obaji facial which was the best facial I’ve had ever! Great work and looking forward to the next one.

Having been employed with several Massage Envy locations nationwide, Ive had a decent amount of massages, I understand LMTs all have different styles and techniques so I stay open minded. But I had a session here about a month ago that was.... the weirdest Ive ever experienced.I spoke to management the next day and explained what happened - they apologized and got me rebooked with another LMT that they felt was more my style. They were right, Caroline was amazing!Generally, Massage Envy doesnt have the best reputation but this one made sure I had the best experience possible.Thanks a bunch to this location!

Sheila always provides 5 🌟 service. She is a knowledgeable, attentive, and highly skilled massage therapist. The best and most thorough that I have ever experienced. Highly recommended.

I have always had good experiences with the office staff and with the massage therapists.My only negative comment is that the massages are never as long as advertised. When scheduled for a 6pm appointment, the therapist has never come to get me from the waiting area until after 6pm. The massages always end prior to the 60- or 90- minute period is up. So basically, if you pay for a 60-minute massage, you will get maybe 45 minutes.

I arrived to a beautiful facility and very professional therapist Alisha. I put in my earbuds listened to my neuroacustic program . She respected my silence something must therapist dont do, I relaxed and today woke up in no pain and ready to exercise!

All around horrible experience. The customer service was just plain bad. After a few months of using their monthly service and not being able to get the time slots I needed I wished to cancel but they tried to keep me on anyway. I went a few more months and was not able to get in when I needed it and they were still very rude about getting to use my very much not free massages and discontinue their service.The massages themselves were good but doing business with Massage Envy under their contract was just a bad experience and one I would wish to go through again.

Received a gift card from my son. Thisn was my first facial massage skin care. My skin felt Good and I could see a difference the next morning in my skin tone.Thank you Millie, Aesthetician.

I give this place a 1 only because I cant give it a zero or negative. They are a disreputable company and they are out to scam you. There are a lot of good massage agencies in town. STAY AWAY from this one. When I made an appointment with this spa I was told the cost was $60 for an hour massage. AFTER the massage was OVER they told me the massage was $95. They said $60 was the member rate. If I paid to join the club they would give me that rate. What a bunch of swindlers!!!The hour massage was only 40 minutes. It started at quarter after and ended at 5 til.They have a high turnover of masseurs which is also a negative signal.The massage is good, but definitely not worth the hassle and disrespect of being hustled. I get massages monthly and trust me this is not the place to go.

Every therapist Ive seen has been professional, courteous, and easy to communicate with. They all genuinely want each guest to have the best experience possible, every time.

Kaz. You gotta see Kaz. 👌🏽 Thursday. Friday. Saturday. Phenomenal 60 minute session. If you have the time, book a 90 minute. So worth it. Amazing flow and extremely therapeutic techniques. I am a massage therapist myself, and I was super impressed. Very pleased with my treatment.

I had 11/2 hour massage with Christopher. Enjoyed every minute. I have booked 3 more massages. Unfortunately only 2 of them are with Christopher because he is booked for 2 months !

Millie always does an amazing job with my facials. She gives quality service and really knows what she’s talking about when it comes to taking care of my skin!

Complete waste of time and money. $115 for ‘suppose to be’ 60 min massage. Turned out to be 45 minutes. Did NOT use enough oil, so it actually HURT.Don’t recommend at all. I am in town for ONE day, and really just wanted to relax and enjoy the hour, now I’m sore and in a bad mood.

Went in for back pain and my forearms got 85% of the attention... Paid for 90 minutes and received roughly 50 minutes of massage. The consultation took up the rest. I STRONGLY suggest going elsewhere.

Couldnt agree more with the other reviewer about the rude manager. I called to inquire about a payment issue and he was completely disrespectful. After we spoke he canceled the appointment I had scheduled without informing me. Stay away from this location.
