From the creative specials to the popular menu options, there are such delectable items to choose from; makes it difficult to decide! If youve never been, run & reservations are highly recommended! Terrific, attentive service! We ordered a broad array of appetizers and entrees and each of them was delicious and beautifully plated. Drinks and desserts were also amazing. We enjoy coming to Del Mar every year for our annual summer visits. The food is consistently good, which is a mark of a great restaurant. Theres a wide variety of dishes from steaks to seafood and salads that can accommodate the palates of both adults and younger children. It is often difficult to do all dishes well, especially when theres a large menu offering.Our favorite dishes are the peach, burrata and prosciutto salad, mushroom tart, steak, duck and any of the pan seared fish. The portions are large and we often will have leftovers. Desserts are generally crowd pleasers.Service is good but can be slow sometimes when restaurant is crowded. Getting a table for a large party is difficult so need to plan early. Sitting near the bar area is our only complaint due to the loud music and noise level. The covered section of the restaurant, while warmer during the summer, is more pleasant for dining.This isnt a fine dining restaurant but it certainly is a great restaurant that is consistent in providing good food for an enjoyable dining experience.

We love the food at Del Mare but it is impossible to get a reservation. I went online to make a reservation for the week of 7/27. Their online system allowed me to select a date and the number of people. There is also a spot for comments. I received a call back asking if I was looking for tonight (the caller did not know what day or many people I was looking for). Apparently, they can only see what you write in the comment section. Keep that in mind, diners, when using the online reservation tool. I was informed that there no openings until September. Cancellation spots only is what I was told. Great for the restaurant but tough for diners!!

The food at Del Mar is undeniably excellent. However, the experience of dining there is so maddening that it’s simply not worth it.The management believes they don’t have to treat their customers well because there’s a line out the door and so they don’t.I was a regular for 20+ years since they were called the Roo Bar, but after an unbroken series of bad experiences over the past two years I’m done with this onanistic establishment.

The food here was fantastic. Fresh greens and berries, wood grilled oysters, and seafood so fresh, you will not believe it! All seasoned to perfection. The bar is stocked with a wide variety of drinks.I learned that this is one of the few spots that doesnt close in the off season as well. Definitely a local favorite.

My wife came in with three children at 5:30pm and after a strange look down by the hostess were told that it’s reservation only and the first available table would be only at 9:30pm. Fine, no problem. My wife then asked to purchase a bottle of water - they brought a check and asked for a credit card.. my wife asked for Apple Pay, and they said they don’t have it and asked if she has any money or remembered her credit card number. Then they told her it’s best if she goes to CVS to buy water as “it will be cheaper there”…

Cozy, cool, and the best place for refinement in the area! The food was superb and the drinks were heavy-hitting perfection. Mushroom Tart, Calamari, Cod, Tuna, Bananas Foster, and Key Lime Pie were all on point. As our server said We have no specials, everything we do is special. Touche

Best dinner we’ve had in a very long time, the chicken and swordfish were divine, slow eat mouth watering, side salad with maple balsamic dressing was outstanding fresh and flavorful, pizza was very good but not the same level as the others. 4 drinks one desert swordfish chicken and two pizzas totaled $210 without $42 tip for about $250 total. Excellent waiter nice atmosphere

An outstanding customer service experience I had at this place. I went to grab a quick dinner and both bartenders and the hostess were working on Friday night was absolutely amazing. Beautiful place, and the food was delicious, I ordered fílet-mignon for my entree and the lime chesscake for desserts. I highly recommended this place. Thanks guys for your amazing service.

We have loved this restaurant for years. The oysters were great, as was the fig pizza, but the peach salad was nothing like it had been in the past. It was disappointing. Hopefully, a fluke.

Delicious meal and cocktails! Had the raw oysters, burrata bruschetta, tuna Pad Thai, and Mediterranean flatbread. Yum! Great service and not a long wait for each course. Started to get pretty busy around 6:30 so I recommend getting there early. Highly recommend for a great dinner spot!

Del Mar is the best Restaurant in town, i will even say that its the best restaurant in the entire state of Ma.I always enjoy eating there, people working there are lovely, the owner is really nice, and the food is amazing.You have all sorts of food there, but you should try the duckling, which is amazing. This is what i propose for you:Start with the oysters rockefeller, and try getting a pizza as a appetizer because they are crusted and thin, and also are wood fired, (it doesnt matter which one you get because all of them are amazing), after that maybe go with the Duckling, its really nice and carefully cooked, and in the end, for desert, take the lava cake which is amazing.If you dont like oysters and duck, go with the Steak salad, and for entree get the Grilled Fillet Mignon, its sooo delicious.My brother told me about this place back in 2011 so weve been going there since then.p.s. If you have a romantic date night, please try to get a reservation and ask for the patio, probably table 35 is the best for you, or if you admire watching the kitchen on how theyre preparing the food, then try the tables inside.

You did not disappoint! Being a foodie, coming to Cape Cod in the off season was a concern so I made it a priority to seek recommendations from the Captains House Inn for the best restaurants in Chatham. After cross referencing a list they gave me with Yelp, we decided on Del Mar. From arrival,our banquette seating, our first and lasting impression of our waitress, the outstanding culinary experience to our departure was simply sublime. We both had Filet Mignon. To my delight when i asked for it Pittsburgh, the waitress didnt flinch! If I could have made that Filet last all night, surely I would have. It stands out as the top 2 Filet Pittsburgh Ive had in my life! Kudos! Thank you for an amazing 50th birthday dinner for my partner! A stand out moment in our lives!

We came here for dinner after a family event. Word got around and so what we thought was going to be a party of 6 turned into a party of 26. As always, great food and great service. Their Portuguese littleneck linguine is the all time best. And their cocktails are certainly picture perfect!

Had a small family get together. The atmosphere, the service and the food were all top notch. I had the house salad and the steak frets. It was cook perfect medium rare, the fries and asparagus per perfectly cook as well. Love every aspect of the night. The family hang out was ok as well.

French onion soup, small portion kinda cheap. Blue cheese croutons were delicious but there were only three not enough to replace the traditional bread & cheese top!!Tuna with Asia noodle flavorless!

We somehow snuck into this place on a busy Friday night. We ate at the bar. The wait for tables wasn’t guaranteed due to the amount of reservations. There was even a wait for the bar seats. Oysters were great! The wine selection was lacking, but they had a big cocktail menu. We both ordered the halibut, and it was great. The apple mango relish was delicious. Then we split a crème brûlée.

Has to be one of the classiest places on the Cape. Went with friends and really enjoyed our dinner. Service was impeccable, and the food was even better. We had the cod special, swordfish, bolognese, and littleneck steamers.

I had the delicious spicy lobster tostada! Amazing!

Came in a little skeptical of other reviewers as they were also claiming this was fine dining, but while they were dead wrong about the ambiance as its decidedly bistro casual, they werent wrong about the food.Our Mediterranean pizza had a face only a mother could love, but was light, thin, and had just enough quality ingredients to make it sing . The beet salad had wonderfully fresh chunks of beets and arugula. My cod didnt disappoint and lived up to the hype by other reviewers - light, flakey, salty, on a bed of rice that provided a nice counter texture and not ruined with a heavy fry or soy like other restaurants on the cape. Surprise standout though was the key lime pie. Fresh lime, mixed to impossibly silky smooth filling with an unabashed tang and sweetness, complemented with some fresh cream and light crumbly crust. It was a little silly expensive at $11 a slice, but we seriously considered buying a whole pie. All desserts are made in house. Well be back the next time we hit the cape!FYI - Getting the sense that the specials menu is a permanent thing.

Seriously one of the best meals ever and definitely one of the best restaurants on the Cape. We tried Halibut and a Surf and Turf special as well as some apps. Everything was incredibly delicious and presentation was flawless. Service was casual and prompt. Fine dining level food in an unpretentious environment. Espresso martinis were perfection. Can’t wait to return.

The outer Cape has many good restaurants to choose from, but we find Del Mar to be the best dining experience of them all. The food, ambiance, service, and value are all 5-Stars. The restaurant fills up every night or close to it. So its best to make reservations well in advance, particularly for Fridays and Saturdays.

Weve never had a disappointing meal at Del Mar! The atmosphere is fun and lively, but not overly loud. The service is always spot-on. I tend to measure how good the service in a restaurant is by whether I have to search out a server to get a drink refilled; never happens here! I started with the pork belly appetizer and it was out of this world - full of amazing flavor and it just melts in your mouth. Followed with the halibut, which was fantastic. Cooked to perfection and perfectly paired with its accompaniments. If you are lucky enough to be able to get a table, GO!

Simply perfect. Accommodating to vegans, and when I spilled my cocktail, they replaced it without question. Absolutely recommendable.

One of Chatham’s absolute best, must go-to restaurants. Service is good to very good, dishes are amazing. Huge fan of the lobster tostada - exceptional!

Had the recommended special short ribs served in a mole sauce. It was not good and overcooked. The wife had the Szechuan tuna and again it was dry and not that great. We had a big party of 11 and I didnt want to send them back so we nibbled and just drank wine. I should have researched the reviews before coming to know what is good here but just went with the special recommendations. Wish it woukd have been better.

We are visiting Chatham from NJ and ordered food to-go on this cold and stormy night. Let me start off by saying, the restaurant was SO accommodating. Originally not sure if kitchen could handle take-out because they were so busy but pulled some strings and made it happen. The pizza was delicious but the salmon quinoa bowl was PHENOMENAL. I mean, one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life and I am a total foodie. Lavender and sumac dusted salmon?!?? Need I say more!!? WOW. This made my soul happy! PS: I promise, minimal wine was consumed in writing this review - it was truly just that good!!

Delicious food and out of the ordinary! You need to plan ahead and make a reservation days in advance, but its worth the wait! Weve been there a few times and always enjoyed it. Tonight, I had easily the best pan roasted halibut ever: the fillet was juicy inside with a golden brown crust; the taste of the fish was complemented with creamy polenta, kumquats, pomegranate, and hearts of palm, in a glaze of goodness. Absolutely delectable!

We got two of their pizzas and we thought it was good.We showed up about 15 minutes before 5 and when we got in, we were told we would have a table but that it was reserved for 6:15

There’s a reason you need reservations— some of the best food on the cape! The steak salad is one of the best salads I’ve ever had and they have fantastic cocktails.

We had a late reservation but got there early. Hung out at the bar, had some great drinks, and still go seated early. The hostess actually let us pick which available table we wanted.The clam chowder was very good and the Boston Bibb salad was great. We had the filet and it was VERY tender and cooked to perfection (Medium rare). For dessert we had the Mississippi mud pie. I thought it might be to sweet, but it was perfect. This is a great place if you are in the area. Reservations are recommended.

The food was incredible. The menu has a great selection of creative options. Everything we had was excellent (apps, entree, dessert). The server was very friendly and attentive. We went on a Saturday night near Christmas and sat on the heated patio area. It was decorated beautifully and very cozy. We will definitely be going back!

Great food and great service. However, you have to get there before they open so you can sit at the bar. From what I understand the inns take all the table reservations and the only seats available are at the bar. Even so its well worth it.

Had not only the best halibut dish I’ve ever had, but one of the best balanced & flavored entrees I’ve ever had (& we eat out OFTEN). Very fresh salads, really interesting & perfectly balanced cocktail with guava, aperol, etc. Wish we were in this area more often, but glad we found this place

Had a great meal here with a full range of types of food. Oysters were great, pizza was great, pasta was great. The bar staff was friendly and service was excellent. Id recommend calling ahead for a reservation; our wait for bar seats was almost an hour, a table would have been longer. Its worth the wait.

A bit pricey but worth the money. Cocktails here are very special- I loved the Spring Blossom which tastes like flowers and sunshine. The food was interesting and so delicious. I think you really cant go wrong here. If you want a really lovely dining experience, this is the best spot in Chatham.

The ambience was nice and the live Jazz was tremendous. The food was enjoyable but didnt deserve the high price and with the no sharing of plates rule, this made trying more food difficuilt. Furthermore, I felt the staff could have put forth a better effort to appear happy and less business like. Also not really kid friendly with no kid portion options available from menu.

Looked online for a seafood restaurant and this place looked nice enough to try. The food was outstanding..... I had the Tuna and my wife had the mango pork chop... Both were prepared with love. And Alexis with her 5 star service completed the night!! Great find! And a must try!

Wife and I came by for an early dinner. Hadnt been in since it first opened as Del Mar. Wont wait that long to return. Our server, Simon was spot on. He was polite, professional and attentive. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the Crispy Pork Belly, Linguine Bolognese, Ribeye Frites and blueberry pie a la mode. The chef and her staff were great. Highly recommend this place!

Adored the Wood-Roasted Peach & Fresh Fig Salad (arugula, prosciutto, burrata, honeydew, candied pecans, rosemary honey & balsamic glaze!). Yum. So many interesting ideas on the menu. Get your reservation in early. It fills up even on weeknights (we had to wait a night and go at 5pm the next day to get in!).

Would recommend a table over the bar.Bartenders don’t do good when it gets busy at all! I had a question about the food because of an allergy and was instructed to find a waitress based on her description to ask my question to.Other than that was hard to order a new drink because they didn’t have time to check in & were focus on table drinks.

Had the most amazing dinner. Our table ordered Raw Oysters, Pan Roasted Halibut, Grilled Filet Mignon, and Chocolate Lava Cake. The halibut may very well be the best dish Ive ever eaten. I was impressed with the presentation, the creative flavors, and the size of the lobster claw. The filet was cooked to perfection and the flavors with the sides and the demi-glace were out of this world delicious. The oysters were clearly fresh and wonderfully prepared. The chocolate flavor in the cake was outstanding. The food at Del Mar Bar & Bistro was a true treat and experience for our taste buds. Thank you for making a special night even more memorable.

Dropped in on a cold January evening and the restaurant was beautiful, cozy and warm. We just wanted to grab a pizza and salad to go after a long day of sightseeing, and the hostess could not have been lovelier. The food was incredibly flavorful, priced competitively and left us with Del Mar at the top of the list for our next Chatham dinner! Wonderful!

Consistently excellent food. Foodie heaven. A lot of times I just order 2 or 3 appetizers, rather than a main course. Or even better, go with few people and try even more appetizers and entrees. Everything is soothing good.Be warned. Many people make their reservations weeks in advance. If you want to come without a reservation, you need to show up before 5pm and wait in line. But always worth it.

Have to say all the staff at Del Mar were superb, especially Joe and Eva.We loved the food, it was very tasty. Great ambience. We would not hesitate in recommending Del Mar.

One of our favorite meals in cape Cod all week. Outstanding oysters and other seafood. Id have given it a fifth star, but the service at our table was really slow. Although we had reasonably early reservations, by the time we left they were already putting chairs up on the table to close.

Outstanding, wife says duck was best duck meal she has ever eaten. My tuna was perfectly prepared. Live music on a Tuesday evening was a great an added bonus. Our waiter was excellent.

Fantastic dinner, drinks, and service! The pork chop was absolutely amazing and the catch of the day (cod) was buttery and cooked perfectly. The cherry gelato paired with the flourless chococolate torte was the perfect end to a delicious meal. Highly recommend.

Food was average at best. Excellent staff and a nice atmosphere. Would try again but food wasn’t at its best.

Waitstaff was knowledgeable and made wonderful recommendations. I was part of a large group and we ordered many appetizers. The Little neck steamers were so sweet and fresh, the fried cauliflower and fried artichokes were very good too!

Busy restaurant, nice atmosphere, good service, oysters and duck pate appetizers and halibut entree were delicious but fried calamari was over cooked, too dry. Our pasta with Manila clams and sausage was very bland and tasteless! Needed more garlic, salt and spice!!

Fantastic!! I made the mistake of making reservations at the wrong “Del Mar”. The Del Mar in Chatham we’re still able to seat us on a busy Thursday night. They had a live jazz band playing which made for a lovely ambiance. We tried the lobster tostada, the fried artichoke hearts with goat cheese and both of us had fish entrees. The food was exceptional. I felt the pricing was on par for the area and the quality of the food/presentation etc. Will definitely go back.

I go here every single time I come to cape cod. It’s the best date night. Honestly believe this is the best restaurant on cape.

Fresh, delicious, expansive fare. Something for everyone. Try the grilled peach, arugula prosciutto pizza. Oysters Rockefeller unabashedly on point with the perfect splash of Pernod. Halibut Heaven. The flavorful filet is hard to beat. Usually too full of Rose for dessert. 💜

Everything here is so delicious! My favorites are the bolognese (whether its on a pizza, or over their polenta or the entre pasta), and the chicken and gnocchi. I know they always say never to order chicken at a restaurant, but THIS place is the exception. It could be my favorite thing on the menu. But really everything is good! It has a fun boisterous atmosphere and is always packed but worth the wait! I love the summertime seating in the greenhouse area.

Went on a Tuesday evening, they were full (yes, we had a reservation). Food? Very good. Service? Good, timely but not overbearing. My one complaint? We were RUSHED through our meal. From the time we sat down to the time we completed our entrees? 70 minutes (with appetizers). Give us a chance to enjoy our meals!

I dined here for the first time this evening, and was very pleased. The food was scrumptious and the staff was very nice. The Mississippi Mudpie was one of the best desserts I’ve ever tried!

During this difficult time with dining out, Del Mar supplied is with easy online ordering and gourmet comfort food! The menu changes a little every day. Pickup is touchless to the trunk of your car! Delicious!

Absolute delight for the senses. Ordered the Japanese raviolis and it was incredible. The atmosphere is calm, the lighting is perfect. The staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommend going to Del Mar!

Tasty fresh ingredients. The fried artichoke hearts were delicious, the seared tuna was top quality, but a bit cold. The maple-glazed duck is some of the best weve had - lots of lean meat and not at all greasy. One of our favorite places to eat on the Cape.

Came here on our last night in Chatham and was extremely disappointed. Sat at the bar and everyone from the bartender to manager seemed extremely overwhelmed (and it was off season). I have a major food allergy, and no one put the time or energy into helping me choose something that was safe for me to eat. I wound up not ordering anything. My husband took two bites of his overcooked pasta and we left considering I am 7 months pregnant and should not be skipping meals! We went over to the Chatham wine bar and restaurant and had an amazing meal.

Favorite spot for adults night out whenever we visit - great apps & drink selection. Dang those pumpkin ravioli are amazing every time 😍 And make sure you check out the specials list!

Had the most amazing meal last night at Del Mar. The vibe is wonderful, unique feel with the open kitchen, brilliant menu items that hit every mark and are perfectly portioned. Woke up dreaming about the Fig & Prosciutto pizza and cant wait to go back.

My family went last night to celebrate our daughters 18th birthday. We all loved our meals. Started with the Calamari which was delicious. cleaned the plate. between the 4 of us we had Filet Mignon, chicken, pizza, crab & chowder. It was all perfect. so yummy. Topped it off with Blueberry pie, flourless chocolate cake & banana foster. I had a glass of the Villa Maria Savigon Blanc it was perfect, smooth and so good. Our service was fantastic. It was our 2nd time there & we will definitely be back.

Amazing cocktails, varied menu, and a lively space. We couldnt get reservations but lucked out with seats at the bar. It got a bit loud but that added to the experience. Well worth a visit.

Food was excellent, been trying to get in here for years booked in March to get in. Honestly the prices here for what you get blow away some of the other spots we hit when we are here. Book early you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Food was good. Crowded. Reservations are important even in off season. Menu and beer list were varied. Staff friendly. Ask for a table or booth along the wall to avoid being bumped by passers by.

I’d give 6 stars to ducklings if I could. Perfect mix of tenderness, richness and sweetness (from the cranberry). Take-out order during Covid is easy. Highly recommend.

Its an excellent restaurant to go to overall, and its very popular. Its kind of noisy, but everything else makes up for it. The service was friendly and the food was.Just.Amazing. If you want pasta, get the littleneck clams over linguini. And the clams arent gritty like some other restaurants. If you want steak, get the filet mignon. The sauce is awesome, the steak is cooked perfectly, and theres bacon mashed potatoes. I didnt know that mashed potatoes could taste that good! If youre looking for some duck, try the maple glazed duck-its phenomenal. The skin is crispy and its seasoned just right. I could ramble on and on about this place.

Great New Years Eve dinner. Unfortunately we were told it was a set 4 course meal but upon ordering were told that was a mistake and that The four course were included but the entree prices began at $65.00. Filet Min and Lobster was $95.00. Due to the mistake they did comp us a round of drinks.

Special bistro food. Great tasting food. The personal pizza is amazing bread is so thin. And the specialty coffees for dessert are a must.

I love this place! They had live music and an outdoorsy area that was mostly candle light. The food was wonderful and not as expensive as most places in Chatham. Would recommend!

Excellent food and service. So much to choose from, but the oysters, filet, duck, pizza, steak salad are some of my favorites!

Friendly efficient service, lively atmosphere but not to noisy. Food was outstanding and good wine list. Pricey but worth it. Reserve well in advance.

We normally sit at the bar, where the service is excellent and the bartenders are very attentive. The food from salads and appetizers to entrées fresh, delicious and always served with great presentation!

Favorite restaurant this end of the Cape! You can not make a bad order the menu is amazing and the drinks are good! Well worth the price!

Wonderful meal, I sat at the bar for my meal which was very good, but very one at the bar was eating pizza. I will return and will have to try one.

Food was ok, restaurant is way too crowded and the way some tables are set up, you really cant get by. I wasnt wowed and probably wont go back.
