Super disappointing. Paid for the venue for a private event for a bunch of people to come enjoy good house music and vibes. Manager that started the night was late to showing up and left without letting us know. We had the space until 2:30 am and they had some random DJ show up at 1 and kicked off the DJs people paid tickets to see. Not only was the dj awful and playing horrible music, the manager did not attempt to make the situation right. It was evident that people were upset and began to boo the resident dj. Its a shame, dont waste your time or your money at this establishment. They are disorganized and unprofessional. This business isn’t for them. Steer clear and visit the many better clubs in river north that are run properly!

I spent money on tickets to go see my friends dj. When I arrived all was well and everything was on time. It wasn’t until the second to last performer went on when he got kicked off and was told he wasn’t supposed to be djing when he had this set for about a month. As well as the two other djs that were supposed to close after him. The entire crowd was there to see only them including me and all spent money on tickets to see them. I am very disappointed and would like to warn whoever on these events to not waste your money here.

My visit to Liquor Box was thoroughly disappointing due to the poor customer service and unprofessional staff. The security team was not only rude but also displayed clear signs of racial bias, creating a hostile atmosphere. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and marred what could have been an enjoyable night out. I strongly advise against going to this club.

They were rude. I walked in at 12:30 and they charged me $25 because I am a male. Added an extra $5 chagre because I was using a card. I politely asked for a refund after being in there for 5 min and the three of the managers I asked for a refund they all said no. The club was empty and I still had to pay full price because I was the only male I the group. They are sexist and disrespectful to the LGBTQ. Avoid at all costs!

Tried to show some coworkers a good time after our company party, and I will never be going back. They charged each of us $20 at the door, and upon entering it was an empty club with below average sound system. There were two tiny speakers for the whole club. So embarrassing. I understand paying covers in Chicago, we did not complain whatsoever about paying the cover. But to charge all of us that amount when they knew there were no people inside. That’s just disrespectful, and I’ve been in the Chicago industry for 10 years. If you want good service and friendly staff, go elsewhere. They should be ashamed.

Im currently at this club and myself and my entire group have been treated terribly the entire time and wayyyy overcharged for four coors lite ($150).The team here yells at each other and at customers. Many people have been kicked out for standing in the wrong spot or putting a drink in the wrong place. Never ever go here.

I recently visited Liquor Box and was extremely disappointed by the experience. The customer service was abysmal, with staff members showing little to no regard for patrons. The security personnel were particularly rude and exhibited a disturbing racist mindset, making the environment uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Its a shame that a place with potential for a good time is overshadowed by such unprofessional behavior. I would not recommend visiting this club.

Basically if you’re an African America they will overcharge you at the door for sure .The bouncers let about ten white guys and females in for FREE… African Americans $40 at the door. Now let’s discuss the bartenders they both are very racist and will overcharge you for sure . They charge different prices for the same drink . The bartenders are very unprofessional and always DRUNK ! Make sure they don’t overcharge your card . Check your receipt. You shouldn’t be hiring such bartenders who are sloppy DRUNK !

Poorly run establishment. Made me and my friends buy tickets just to kick the dj off stage for some other guy. Didn’t even scan my tickets. Waste of money. Will not be returning

The bouncer going up to my husband while he was picking up people for Uber and accusing him of being ‘hammered’ while he was trying to wrangle over served 20 something year old drunks who ended up puking in the car was simply great. My spouse also has a speech impediment, so thanks for that.

The drink here is ridiculously expensive. The bartender did not give me my change after I paid for my drinks. I had to ask her for it. She messed up the amount of tip that I was originally going to give her by doing that.

Worst 21st ever. Kicked us out because it’s raining and slippery and we are wearing heels in a small venue. Rude and unfair, left us in the rain. Never returning.

Fun and unique place to hang out and have a drink with friends. Food is also pretty good. Felt it was a bit overpriced and our waitress was rude when I asked if I could buy one of the drink boxes for an out of town friend who was with our party.

Waited forever to be let in, then after being inside for about 20 minutes they kicked everyone out. Very rude and aggressive staff, never coming back.

Wish I can give you zero stars for the racism that I experienced at liquor box. My friends and I tried to enter tonight and could not answer because they said that it was a guest list only however, every white guest that entered was admitted no problem. We asked several times why they were admitted and we were not and they said that we needed to be at tables.However, when we asked people in line they were with us that were white and we were black. They said that they did not have tables and they were there for a good time. I am overwhelmingly disappointed in liquor box and will not be doing further business with them as I booked to company parties with them for my holiday events in December they will be effective immediately canceled.

One of the bouncers told my group to move and we told him there was no space and he proceeded to push us away then when we told him that was not ok he had us kicked out. Unprofessional overall. Our group was not belligerent drunk and that small moment did not have to escalate to that degree.

I didnt have any food. Drinks where decent. But they was some goof ball the security let walk around like he owned the place. SECURITY WAS COOL WITH US AS WE CAME IN AND OUT THO.

Rented out the top bar for a few hours. The actual bar and atmosphere was cool but a lot of issues. Bouncers were slightly crazy interms of sitting on the coffee tables? No offense but if you’re charging $50 for two drinks, you can manage slightly better tables. Drinks were really pricey, cover charge girl stole my ticket for sound bar, and we were told two drink tickets when I got 1. Not a bad club but they really try to squeeze money out of you.

We are a group of black women (5) who got to the establishment at midnight on a Friday night. We were told it’s only a reservation needed available because it’s a small venue. It was not listed on their website despite of the poor reviews we still decided to come unfortunately. The bouncer immediately turned us around with this reason. They already told us to go to another place down the street. It was no music coming from this place plus no one else standing in the line. Don’t recommend if you’re an minority because they don’t want us in their establishment.

I was there for a little while however for one shot of jack cost me 23 dollars so be prepared to shell out some dough as the cover at the door as well. But vibe was nice if you trying to turn up a bit this is the place.

I absolutely love this spot! Great location and all around cool vibes. The girls behind the bar are awesome, especially Ayat she was on top of her game and was always attentive and checking on me if I needed anything. She made my experience all that much better and she was just full of energy and making sure me and everyone else was having a good time. I honestly can’t wait to go back and I hope to see her again because I honestly couldn’t imagine that spot without her because her vibe and energy is unmatched!

The owner has blocked my comment about the bouncer being racist. We walked up to the door and they said they were closed. Then they let several other non-black groups in without hesitation. I can see my comment on my other account, but i can’t see the comment under this account. I’m so tired of being discriminated against because I’m black. I’m a very intelligent young black female. My friends and I are well educated and respectful individuals. I’m just looking to enjoy my night with diverse individuals. I’m not a violent person. As we sat there waiting for our Uber, he continued to let others in. I then questioned what’s the difference from me and them. He couldn’t handle confrontation and they grabbed their robes and went inside and closed the door. I wish I would have read the reviews before I even went there. The bar wasn’t packed, which is also why I’m upset. They just have loud music. If you read the reviews you will see the bar is wack. Still waiting for contact information from the owner. I guess John, the owner, doesn’t care. The bouncer said that’s his name, that’s probably a lie. If you are black try at your own risk.

Stopped by here after a wedding with many other guests. Security was respectful, staff was friendly and accomodating. The environment was high energy and drinks were solid. Thanks for helping our group of young and old keep the party going?

Idk how this place has 3.4 stars. Decided to come here after grabbing drinks with some friends and there was only ONE group of people at a table… not to mention, the bouncers tried charging us $20 each when we were on guest list. Idk why they were even charging when they couldn’t even get people through the door to begin with. If you have been trying to find a fun place to go, I wouldn’t recommend. It was also obvious how dead it was when the bottle service girls were standing behind the bar on their phones. I’m concerned.

$40 cover for guys on a Saturday. Okay music, pop DJ mixes. Lights and effects are cool although most of the staff/bartenders are either inattentive or don’t even serve you. All night the bartenders would rather finish their conversation with each other than help guests, saw it happen multiple times to others and myself. If you do go, definitely ride share there, don’t walk there for your safety.

We were super excited to celebrate my husbands birthday here until the bouncers made us uncomfortable with paying an outrageous price for an empty bar. Long story short, don’t waste your time with the bouncers. Just leave.

The owner does not like colored folks so go at your own risk(told from a known source). This place says it opens at 10. My friend and I arrived there at 1045pm to be told that there were not opened yet and it was a private party going on. We left and went to a place nearby. I passed back there around 1130to see people being let in. My friend and I went back in ONLY because I was meeting a friend there. The same security that said they were closed then greeted us as if he aint just lie to us. Will never go back here.

I was kicked out of this club tonight. In the below deck club, where literally no one was patronizing, I had to use the restroom. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I knocked more on the bathroom doors to please use the restroom. A young woman left the restroom, and I went to the bathroom. When I returned to the booth where my friends where , I was promptly kicked out of the club, presumably for my bad behavior with a young staff member. The women working the club were painfully young, one mentioned she has just turned 21 years old. I posed literally no threat to them. Im writing this for no other reason than to tell the the public about my experience at this club this evening. I will be more mindful about using the restroom at a club in the future.

Overall just a terrible place to spend the evening. For a Friday night in a night club the atmosphere was terribly slow, the music was trash, a mix of D&B that no one knows and white noise. The drinks were slow and a 3rd more than the club we had just come from. Within 20 minutes me and my party were looking at going back. The staff were impolite and acted like they didn’t want to be there. Overall just a badly run place and I won’t be wasting anymore of my money at the LiqrBox.

Was part of a bachelor party and we had a table rented for a night. When we showed up, we were told that the table had been rented out to another group. This was a group with multiple Accountants/Auditors etc, ready to spend some money for the night. Also, happened to be mostly minorities in the group...

The bartender Brandi charged us for more expensive drinks rather than the actual drinks we ordered and they were not good at all, I really don’t believe there was any liquor in them, it was like a cup of mixer.

Its your standard bar... Their thing is they have a mixed drink in a neon juice box. Tasty stuff, but youre over it quickly.The owners were nice and they are generous. They donate to charities to help very sick kids, which is awesome.The person behind the bar was less than friendly - she clearly wanted to be somewhere else.Id say its a good place for parties, but they book the whole place in hard time increments. They kicked us out at 9:00 because there was a group coming in. It would have been nice to know we couldnt stay and finish drinks we paid for.All-in-all, its okay.

Although the entry pricing was questionable, once the three of us got in.... We enjoyed ourselves. There’s seating and a DJ. I did see a upstairs on my way out however, it was roped off so I’m assuming you would have to meet some special requests/requirements to enter..... Overall, cool place to have a drink and dance in the city.

Very discriminatory place if youre not young, thin and white. My friends and I were there for a bachelorette party and there were several groups like that there, so it seemed like a legit place. But my friends wanted to go upstairs and so we did, I was the last to get stamped at the front and was promptly asked to pay $20 as a cover when my friends (2 seconds prior) were not. I refused to pay and they finally sighed and let me through. Red flag. Then the bouncers promptly ignored us for a few minutes and made us wait before going upstairs. Red flag. Upstairs it was never completely full, nor was downstairs. The bouncers were inappropriate with several women there, especially if they are on the clock. The hype is not real, yall. Go elsewhere. Take ya hard earned money and dont spend it here.

By far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar and this was my first time here. First, my group and I were told $20 for entry when no else was being charged before or after. Second, they wouldn’t allow us to enter changing the reason each time (too crowded, reservations needed, someone must leave for one to enter, etc.). However, those that came after us were allowed in. Everyone in my group is black or Latino and it became obvious why we weren’t being let in after we’d been waiting patiently for close to thirty minutes. They started to call us “belligerent” when some showed they were upset and voiced the racism being displayed. This was my first and last time here. I won’t be giving money to a business that refuses proper treatment because my skin is darker. Just disappointed because I always heard good things about this place. Then I experience it and I’m appalled by how my group was handled. I’m not sure if I’m more hurt by knowing I was discriminated against because of my skin or disappointed because somewhere I thought was great and excited to finally experience denied me of that.Update: somehow my review was marked for Reverie. I came there for happy hour. I ordered a few drinks (during the happy hour time). The bar tender decided to charge my card 3 minutes after happy hour ended and charged me full price for the drink, even though the drink was ordered within the happy hour time. Due to the lack of communication, I did not give tip and signed the receipt. After looking at my CC statement the bar tender still had nerve to add tip. Never coming here again.

The worse place I have ever been to. The drinks were over priced. They say in order to go up stairs you have to get your coat checked in and thats $4. Than we finally go upstairs to see people with hats and coats on which isnt supposed to be allowed. Some of the staff were rude and unhelpful. I would never be going back to this place ever again. This place is unfortunately too hyped up. I got the Unicorn drink (the blue box) and it was such a good drink! However, pretty sure they just put a drop of alcohol because I felt nothing. Not sure if $10 + tax was worth it. $4 coat check. No cover to get into the first floor. $20 cover (for men only) to go upstairs to the clubbing floor (girls free as always). From someone who loves to dance, the dj was not to die for and the party vibe was dead. Everyone in attendance was in their early 30s, late 20s, and apparently dont like to dance. I had high expectations because this place looked so chic and expected a crazy party atmosphere but I felt like everyone was just standing.

A friend of mine told me he was going to the bathroom down stairs and he told the bouncer and my friend was not allowed back upstairs. I will say this, make sure to verify the cash you pay the bartenders. I have been there twice in the past 6 months n twice the bartenders upstairs suggested the cash I gave them was less than what I know for sure I paid with. If I paid you $5 for a $12 drink, then why take the cash into the register and come back and tell me I only gave $5. Common sense would tell these bartenders to bring my cash back and request for the right amount for the drink. And not take my cash and expect me to pay an additional amount for my drink. Just a warning always show and verbally say how much you give so they can learn not to try to steal from well paying patrons...

Absolutely horrible experience. A group of us paid to go to the dance floor and they purposely singled our group out and didnt allow us to go to the dance floor while the blatantly let others (BOYS AND GIRLS) up right past us. Blatant discrimination. I will never come back and if you like not wasting money, I would highly recommend you stear clear of this scamming club!

The bouncer tried to say I couldnt get in because he thought my shorts were legging material but they werent, but then I saw a chic inside with joggers & sneakers on. The bartender seemed to be making up her own prices. I was charged $26 for a liquor box and shot of tequila (the liquor box was supposed to be $12). Then I overheard her trying to charge a guy $2 more than hed paid earlier in the night for a Modelo. The main level is just like a bar, and you cant go upstairs to even see the rest of the venue unless youre ordering bottle service 🙄. This place was just okay; I probably wouldnt return.

Witnessed online posts from the company stating that they will actively pressure you to tip no matter what. Place is a money pit that uses overly sexualized pocket grabbing girls to cover up it being just another run down bar with neon lights.

They have a very unique concept of pre-packaged drinks in a juice box. The bar menu is quite good even for vegetarians. The club was belting some really good numbers. The place is tad bit too small even though we had seats there were bunch of people standing and jostling for a even place to stand.

Trash. They dont follow proper safety guidelines. During big event people are packed to the point there is no room to walk through. This is how a horrific accidents happen (like Seoul South Korea) that kill innocent souls. Authorities really need to take a look at this place.

My coat was taken by the staff from our table just right now. They were quick to dismiss me and refused to help even when I offered to tip them generously. This is why people pay top dollar for tables at better establishments.

Poor service by the staff. The security detail has an inclination to be a tad overzealous when it comes to removing patrons from the building. My recommendation to management is tell your security detail that they can be firm without being excessively pushy when trying to remove people from the building. Because of the current pace, this place is a tinder box for physical confrontation.

It was a cool spot, BUT...I went to go upstairs after being downstairs for about 30 mins getting drinks and shots and they said it was bottle service only upstairs. At the door we were told we could go upstairs. When we tried to go upstairs it was all of a sudden bottle service only. I was just confused about that and that needs to be stated on the website or somewhere before entering...The downstairs bartenders were courteous

The brunette bartender was so rude. My card declined because of fraud reasons , and her response was .. “you probably don’t have enough in your card”with a sarcastic look on her face . Good place. Two floors. First floor is only open on big events. This is a place you want to come when after 12am since yhey close around4am.They play mostly club, top 40 club music.

The DJ is trash. Only played 15-20 seconds of every song and none of them were good. No one actually dances here. Girls just stand on the couches and take pictures of themselves while guys watch them. I also saw at least three fights in 15 minutes. But no one got kicked out.... So if you want to stand around listening to a bad DJ and watch some fights, this is your place! If you want to dance, go somewhere else.

If you want an honest, in-depth review.. get ready:This place literally just steals money. Friends bought a table through a promoter, but when I got there they made me pay a $20 cover. Then when we were at the table, the promoter told all the guys (only 3 of us) that guys need to pay an extra $40 to stay at the table. We didn’t have cash, then he finally said, “fine... $30.” Went to the ATM downstairs and then it was “broken”, so we had to go to an ATM outside, and they tried to charge us another $20, even though we had stamps from their establishment.The promoter’s instagram is @weheartleon, and the dude is just trying to look like a playboy for Instagram.Then as the bottles came to our table, it was “for sharing” amongst other tables... and these tables weren’t blocked off, so random people that weren’t apart of a table would come up and pour themselves a drink... can someone explain these logistics?Later in the night, it was literally only women. I’m a straight dude, but a 9 to 1 ratio favoriting women is a weird vibe. Apparently the promoters invite women for free and don’t have to pay for anything, but what ever men are there get hassled for money.Terrible experience, terrible place, and horrendous promoters. This place is heading in the direction of Shay Nightclub (which shutdown).(Oh and at the end of the night, the promoter tried to hug my girlfriend - even after the hassle we experienced in the beginning)

Nice facility! And very nice door men and bouncers! One of the nicer staffs in the area especially! Boomin’ place, but tbh the drinks were far too overpriced for the experience. Doing a cover and cheaper drinks would be good.

Super over priced drinks full of ice. When I commented to bartender about Ice ratio in cup she just ignored me and quickly walked away... Besides that Dj was good.. Atmosphere was decent... Pre game before you go is highly recommended 👍

Service is great. Showed up around 9pm on Saturday. It was a little to early. Stayed until 11 and few others showed up. Great theme : Adult version of child menu/drink list.

Staff and manager are incredibly rude and disrespectful. The juice box has almost no alcohol in it and is extremely overpriced. Would highly recommend going somewhere else in Chicago - so many other places to experience quality nightlife.

The Restroom attendant literally was forcing me to pay him, he said “bro you have to pay me to use the bathroom”. I started laughing and reached for the door handle to exit, but he blocked it with his arm… I pushed his arm out of the way and walked out. Btw (I never used any cologne or gum or anything, just used the bathroom) He was a Hispanic man about 5’7.

The staff was rude, we waited like 2 hours to get in. They were letting people go ahead of us and it was only because those people were managers at another venue and also the bouncer said that it was because they need to let in HOT GIRLS FIRST. That was kind of rude to me.

Honestly, this place is not worth going to. The atmosphere is meh, the drinks are weak and overpriced, and the bartenders will upsell you on shots. My friend and I went to buy tequila shots and ended up paying $35 for each one (!) because we went with the bartenders recommendation without asking the price. I’m guessing she just wanted a big tip.

Rude service. We literally paid for a reservation and they tried to say the first 2 guys were free and made us pay again. I had a really bad experience here. I was trying to go to the level upstairs with friends, but we were not allowed in. The man that was in charge of the line told us he would let us in when there was space. Then he goes on to let a lot of other people in during the time we were waiting. I think he was racist because he himself was white and so were the people he let in. We asked again and he said that we needed to wait. He also took money right in our faces and let other people in. We just ended up leaving.

If I could give this place a zero I would!! Drinks sucks too small. And honestly did not have any sort of fun. This place sucks, waste of money and not worth even going in. Went to a small ass college town and the bars where ten times better there.

It was our first time and nobody explained how things work we waited to go upstairs because it wasnt open yet and when it did open, we were told it was too late. Downstairs wasnt good because beside the actual liqrboxes there was no bartender there to make any good drinks.

Typical River North club, decent location venue and decor, randomly charging cover at the door, overpriced drinks, slow service but it can be fun to dance the night away and try to ignore all the pretentious drama you are surrounded by. The upstairs is bottle service only but they tell you that you can go up there. Ok. Not the best spot if youre looking to get a table with friends or a actually talk to each other but the again you knew that already.

Why people give less than 5 stars is beyond me. If you think you had too much to drink and complaining about a morning hangover, why did you goto a 4am bar? Legit spot to hang out past 2 or 3 on Saturdays for that matter.

Great multi level late night venue with some of the best food around served till 3:00 am! If you’re looking to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion this is the spot to be!

GUYS BEWARE: Liqr Box is a FRAUD. They make you pay $20 cover to get in, but GUESS WHAT? That $20 ONLY gets you to the bar. You cant go upstairs to the dancing floor unless you pay for a table. Theres a line to go upstairs and only people with tables can go up. Had they tell people that truthfully, people would decide whether to pay $20 to get limited access. I lost my $20, so Im simply trying to save yours.

Bald head white security dude kept feeling up on women as he walked past them multiple times, complained to management, they didnt do anything. Not giving any more money to a place that supports sexual harrassment

I would not recommend this place to anyone, they are racist and only let people and with open shirts that’s sweaty. No blacks were allowed unless they had a suit on. But other race can come in with open shirts

This place sucked. Over priced drinks and bartenders were very rude to my group.

The place overall isn’t that bad at all, but the only thing that bothered me was the dude at the bathroom demanding me money just cause he turned the sink on for me lmao.

I liked the atmosphere but the music was mediocre. I also liked that they had different areas so if you didnt like the music in one room move to the next.

Terrible management! Went as a group to see a upcoming rapper perform and he never performed. They kept saying he was gonna perform and then it was 3 AM so we left.

Nice venue and decor. Tried the boxes. Had purple one and it was a smooth sneak up on u type of drink. Stays open late.

Bouncers are rude, wouldn’t let me in with dress pants on when guys were going in with white tee shirts. Go to bounce and save the 20 bucks for guys.

Dirty and gross. Drinks were entirely watered down and not worth the money. Bartenders were rude.
