What a great experience! Felt like we were down in Florida. Cobb salad was huge! So fresh and alot of attention to detail. Delicious. I ordered the Coconut Shrmp and they were off the hook. Really good. Service at tables were slow and we grabbed seats at the bar. We were promptly served. Have some extra time when dining, take in the surroundings. Remember your on island time! Thank you pirates cove for being there for us in Cincy!

This is a fun little tropical paradise in the middle of the Cincinnati. Enjoy some drinks and dinner on the water with the feel of being in the tropics. Yoy never know you just might run into a pirate or hear some amazing live band. We event ran into Santa there on Vacation...

This has got to be the worst restaurant that I have ever been to. Wife and I ordered two “Cuban” sandwiches, fries, and two beers. Kids ordered shrimp and grilled cheese with fries. As a Floridian, I was appalled by them even calling what they served a Cuban, however I decided to give it a try after peeling strips of fat off this piece of pork chop that was on it. Only word that comes to mind, disgusting. Fries were cold, pasta salad was drenched in Italian dressing, could’ve made it better at home. Ended up not eating most of our $110 meal. BEWARE.

We were looking for a unique place to stop and eat along our trip to KY. The atmosphere was unique, and the food was pretty good. The restaurant could definitely use a few new fans. A few were broken. (This is the only cooling option). We had to move a few times because there were bees coming up under the deck around our feet as well. I respect bees, but I just dont want them crawling on me while I eat.We arrived to eat at an unusual time sometime between lunch and dinner, so the restaurant was pretty dead. But I could see this being a fun place for dinner or drinks.

The atmosphere is what its about!! I am a tropical girl, so this is my spot! Sand on the main dining floor, on the marina, hell yeah!! They have live bands on the weekends. I go here every birthday with my friends. The food could be better for the prices. A bit high for a bar and grill place, and our waitress barely came to us.

There was live music when we ate. The view of the boats.and the water is nice. Drinks are flavorful. They were out of a couple of menu items. Prices are reasonable.

The food was very bland and not very flavorful. The drinks barely contained any liquor. The atmosphere was calm with live music. It is a very unique establishment on the docks. I would not go again unless friends insisted. There was nothing special that would make me want to return there, but nothing was awful.

Great atmosphere on a Friday night. Live music (band was great). Band tends to be loud, though, so if you want to have conversation you probably dont want to be near the bar.Food was good but service was kind of slow.The sweet tea was terrible, dont recommend.

The atmosphere is EVERYTHING here. You can always count on perfect 70s/boat themed live music. They have food and drinks too, and sand. We feel like we are on spring break when we enjoy this place.

The band was great (Cincy Rockers)! We went on a Saturday night and it was busy but not packed. The owner copped an attitude with us for whatever reason, but our server was nice and accommodating. Food and beverage unremarkable, service decent, ambiance pretty good.

Upon entering, we encountered a seat yourself sign. We did. The place was very busy. Servers noticed us but did not approach our table. We waited 30 minutes and thought wed get better service at the bar, so we moved. The bar wasnt busy, but the male bartender ignored us. We eventually got service from a female bartender. Two cocktails in small plastic cups are $8 each. Disappointing experience, we wont be back.

It was Christmas and July so the atmosphere was even more fun. Food was great, I had the Southwest egg rolls and they were delicious. Our server Amelia was so amazing.

8/3/24- We had been here before and enjoyed it Last night after we ordered 2 drinks our waiter went MIA. We tried to get the attention of other servers but no one would take our order. Waited 30 minutes and finally just WALKED OUT!!! I will never be back!!

Nice spot right on the water, in a marina. Tropical theme even having sand around the bar area! Service was friendly but slow. Our food took awhile and was served warm, but not hot which was unfortunate because everything tasted really good! We just wish it was hotter. My reuben was HUGE and had a ton of meat on it. We came on Saturday for lunch and they had live music which was a nice touch.

Server was fine. I get that this is a marina. The boats and dock were nice, even got by the plastic ware styrofoam plates and plastic tables and chairs, but my goodness. Aside from the calamari, fried pickles and grouper fingers (all fried but all good) the rest of the food was almost inedible. Mussels were old smelling and stale in nothing but butter, both salads we got they didnt even cut up the lettuce we had full lettuce/spinach leaves, the one salad (BLT salad with chicken ) was 95% cheese and toppings. I love toppings but this was literally just cheese bacon and chicken. I get its a marina but it was worse than bar food. They know they can do better. Drinks were ok, but the peel and eat bloody Mary had bacon that was just fat , and the 2 peel and eat shrimp were completely frozen, not cleaned they had the veins still in them, and so rubbery I could barely cut through it with a knife, they were also shriveled up. With a bill of $126, id say only $40 might have been edible. And part was just a grilled cheese

Went on a family outing. Food was great the grilled cheese was amazing they had like 3 different cheeses and the fries reminded me of beer battered fries. The tilapia was tasty. My family loved the food too

The mixed reviews on this place are on point.We got the calamari, chicken wings, grouper fingers, and cheeseburgers.The calamari and chicken wings are super greasy. And yes, the wings are breaded pretty thick, more than the usual.The grouper fingers were light and flaky. And a bit greasy. I do recommend this dish.My kids got the cheeseburgers. They liked them, but if I were going out for cheeseburgers this would not be my pick.Service. It was a little slow. Our waitress forgot my salad and my wifes water. I was overcharged for my margarita- it was supposed to be $4 margarita night. Waitress seemed disinterested in general.My recommendation- go here for drinks before dinner or after, and enjoy the atmosphere and live music. Skip the food and dont expect great service.

Pirates Cove Tropical Bar & Grill has been seasonally operating for 24 years on the Ohio River at the Four Seasons Marina. They are closed now for the season, but towards the very end of the summer my family and I stopped in for our first dining experience.There is no inside dining here, but nearly every seat has a roof overhead. The open air allows for you to view the yachts coming and going in the marina. There is a large bar and plenty of tables around the outskirts of the large space. A live band was playing during our visit near a sandy area that adds even more tropical island ambiance.For lunch I decided on the Cuban Classic with roasted pork loin topped with cheddar jack, peppers, and onions served hot pressed on Cuban style bread ($14.50). I also subbed in onion rings for $2 extra. The pork loin was well cooked and thick sliced. Aside from the bread this is not an authentic Cuban sandwich, but it was actually really good.Overall the prices are slightly higher than normal, but the views are hard to beat. Plus the quality of the food was great and there are plenty of choices on the extensive menu. We will likely be back again next summer.

First off, Kymber was so welcoming at the bar. Brie pretzels were awesome. Wings were great. Sweet Potato fries were AWESOME. The decor and location were so relaxing. GREAT PLACE TO VISIT.

Primates cove is so much fun! The coconut shrimp was so delicious as well as the drinks! Alex was such a sweet server! She was super friendly and it was so much fun talking to her! Will definitely be back!

Fine drinks, would not have the food again. Just got the vibe that everything we ate was previously frozen and just reheated.

It’s extremely rare for me to write a negative review. Went for Easter buffet. Charged $40 per adult. The food was probably the worst I’ve had at ANY restaurant. Regular salad, mashed potatoes, green beans and fish were good. There was no Mahi Mahi as advertised. Caesar salad was soggy… turkey and roast beef were leather like and bland taste. Ham looked ok. Should have known it was going to be bad when we walked in and only two other tables. I just felt ripped off spending that much money for poor food and minimally adequate service.

Location and atmosphere 10/10, but I got the wings and I don’t know what the kitchen was thinking, but they used a batter instead of a standard straight fry. The batter made the wings hard to get too and the crunch was way too much in my opinion. They retained their juiciness for sure, but I am probably going to order something else next time.

First time and last . The service was bad it took us 45 minutes to just order drinks. The food wasnt good. You couldnt eat it because of it being overcooked and dry. The waitresses walked by us 4 times and didnt ask if we needed anything ,as we set there with drinks empty. If youre looking for overpriced and poor service this is the place

There was nice live music, and the atmosphere was lively on a Saturday afternoon. I would only go back for drinks; the food was not good. The “lightly breaded” chicken wings came out looking and tasting like KFC fried chicken. Our Buffalo chicken dip turned into a deep dive searching for bits of chicken, and was also not good.

Its hot outside, I knew that going in. Ceiling fans make it tolerable. Plenty of seats in shade. Very nice. Sauteed grouper tacos were just what I needed. Waitress very helpful and knowledgeable. A relaxed atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon.

Most expensive plate, Captains Plate, misleading in description, mostly hush puppies, sides were rubbish. Pork in Cuban was dry and onion rings stale and cold. Service very slow

We had a great experience! Our waitress Liv made the beginning to end a great experience...seated where we chose and a beautiful view of the water and boats. A warm day by the water that felt cool bc fans and wind coming off water made for a pleasant dinner. We had crab cakes appetizer which was made with blue crab were excellent! The drinks took me to the Caribbean without having to leave Cincinnati! We will be back to try more of the grand options to choose from in this fun atmosphere.

The Ambiance of this place was great. I mean its in the middle of a marina on the water. It had a tiki bar decor. I didnt try the food although it seemed to have a surprisingly good menu with lots of choices. Went with a group and everyone enjoyed the music. Live band, great View, Outdoors. My friend did have the egg rolls and she said they were really good. There was a nice sized bar and tables along each side with a view of the water and boats. A fun place!

Went here to celebrate my birthday today. We’ve always loved this place, but we were more than disappointed today. The food was so awful and we had a live maggot on my son’s chair. All around gross. And we paid $150. We won’t be going back.

First time being there. Was every different there was sand on the floor and got to watch boats going in and out. Food was very good for the money.friendly people.

I recently visited Pirates Cove and unfortunately had a less than satisfactory experience. While the atmosphere and theme of the place were appealing, the service and overall dining experience left much to be desired.Firstly, the wait times were unreasonably long. I had to endure a one and a half hour wait for my food, which was incredibly frustrating. Additionally, it took an astonishing 30 minutes just to receive a single drink. This level of service is simply unacceptable, especially considering that the establishment had a sign acknowledging their slow food service. Its disappointing when a restaurant openly acknowledges their inefficiency without taking steps to improve it.To compound the issue, the grill was broken during my visit. This meant that the kitchen was unable to prepare certain items, limiting the menu choices. The lack of functionality in a crucial component of the kitchen further added to the inconvenience and disappointment.Furthermore, I was taken aback when I noticed one of the servers vaping while making drinks. This not only displays unprofessional behavior but also raises concerns about hygiene and the overall quality of the drinks being served. Its important for staff members to uphold certain standards of professionalism and cleanliness, which, unfortunately, was lacking in this instance.While Pirates Cove may have a captivating ambiance, the subpar service and numerous issues I encountered during my visit overshadowed any positive aspects. Its evident that the establishment needs to address the long wait times, improve their service efficiency, and enforce stricter guidelines for staff conduct. Until these issues are addressed, I find it difficult to recommend Pirates Cove to others seeking an enjoyable dining experience.Overall, my visit to Pirates Cove was marred by the excessive wait times, broken equipment, and unprofessional behavior of the staff. I hope the management takes these criticisms constructively and works towards improving the overall quality of service and customer experience.

Food was just ok, not exactly how described in menu. Our waitress was wonderful and could be a fun place on a more active night.

The food is good & the employees were awesome ( even when they are busy). The band was nice too.

The menu is decent bar food. The atmosphere is lovely & and has always had good service.

Gave 4 stars because are waitress was very short handed but handled it amazing till the manager came out from hiding and screwed up all the orders then after ran away for the girl to fix.

Some of the worst food and service Ive ever had at a restaurant. If you plan to go here, make sure you are okay with hunting down the server so they actually take your order

1. Took 15 minutes for someone to notice us at the bar. Bartender didn’t know what Chardonnays they had. She answered with Savignon Blanc, red, and Chardonnay2. I asked for Chardonnay. She took 15 minutes looking for a corkscrew…to no avail3. I counted 12 workers in the bar opening area…DOING NOTHING4. I ordered a Tito’s and lemonade instead. 10-20 minutes disappeared to find lemonade.5. We ordered a BLT and a cup of seafood chowder at 7:25…soup and sandwich that’s it.6. Husband calls her over and she tell us “it’s 45 min more once ordered”7. His BLT came out 1 hour later and it was made with salmon (?) not ordered8. My chowder was DISGUSTING 🤮 it was so thick that my spoon stuck straight up. It was like 5 day old sludge with unrecognizable contents. It even smelled sour of bad food.GET BETTERPS: the band was very talented and the atmosphere was excellent.Aside from almost getting sick at/on the bar from the smell of the chowder, I enjoyed my husband’s company.

Food came out microwaved an old. Ordered black beans an rice with shrimp. Very very sour other person smelt the coke slaw an smelt very bad the salad came out an was already turning brown. Spent almost 70$ an they gave us 10$ off our bill. Will never go back.. asked for a margarita with no salt,came with tons. Great atmosphere but not so good for the food.

Even though it took a little bit for service, the place was PACKED, so we understood completely! Once waited on, service was swift and phenomenal! Order the oysters on the half and they were good for bigger oysters and the price! But the start of the show for us was the mac n cheese! So good, chicken was out of this world juicy and shrimp was just as good! HIGHLY recommend for a great meal in a neat laid back atmosphere!

Its temporarily closed until April. We were told by some workers having a meeting. When were trying to figure out where we enter. RESPONSE BACK to owner. Is this not true, we never been & we were wanting to come check it out & that was what we were told that its temporarily closed until April.

Disappointed with our visit. There is no river view like other marinas... just boats docked in a cove. I had a Jack Salmon sandwich which was 80% breading and 20% fish. My husband had a grilled chicken sandwich which was average. Two sandwiches and Cokes with tip was $40.

Great service, good food. A little pricey. But isnt everything these days?

Very poor experience. Will not go back. Ordered mussels which were not fresh. My CAN of domestic beer was 6 bucks. Small draft was 7.75. Side salad was basically the core of iceberg lettuce but to make it even better it was brown as well. Both my wifes fish tacos and my grouper fingers (house specialty no less), were mushy and tasteless. To top off the night, it started to rain and some was blowing in so the people one table over decided to lower the tarp window and it rained down milkweed, feathers, and who knows what else into what was left of our food. $80 for the two of us to have a bad time. No reason whatsever to go here when Pelicans Reef is just up the hill with better prices, bigger plates, and much much better food.

Decent view of the river but the food was luke warm at best and very over priced for what it was. The shrimp dish said an abundance of shrimp and came with 8 small shrimp and weren’t even hot and were rubbery for $26. The fish was decent but the fish tacos were also not very good. Said a mango sauce on them and it was just sweet Thai chili sauce. Cigarette butts were on the sand floor everywhere. Just wouldn’t go again for the price and what we got!

Had the impossible burger and it was so delicious. Definitely could have fooled me into thinking it was meat.Also really enjoyed meeting Jack Sparrow.

Its a fun place with a beach party atmosphere. (I noticed four different birthday celebrations during our lunch.) Sit at tables in the sand festooned with neon signs and colored lights at the center of the restaurant, or sit on the surrounding dock and watch the boats. The food, served in paper and plastic, was much better than expected.

We loved this restaurant. The vibe is awesome. Jimmy buffet songs kept going thru my mind. Truly has key west vibe. The staff was so kind and pleasant. They represent the company well. Food was delicious!! Large menu difficult to pick what you wanted. Had so much fun today and the boats were cool too. Can’t recommend highly enough!

This place is always a good time - a beach getaway right in the city. Sand on the floor, live music & tropical decor all right on the Ohio River.

The set up is really weird. I get that theyre going for on the water but a little signage would go a long way. My friend and I hadnt been there before and both got turned around finding the parking lot and the restaurant after we were parked. Basically, you just keep walking past everything you think might be a restaurant and end up on a boat.No complaints but also nothing special. My friend and I each got a salad and they were both fine but kind of blah. The chicken on mine was clearly the kind you get frozen in a bag, not freshly cooked and hers barely had any toppings. That said, the lettuce was fresh and nothing tasted bad, so no real complaint. Id go back if it was to meet a friend, but I wouldnt recommend it to someone looking for a great lunch.

Pirates Cove is behind Four Seasons Marina which is built on top of an old river barge. It has a Tiki Bar feel with a section of tables sitting in sand to increase the ambiance. The TuesCrew of Ohio TuesDayTrips boarded the barge and walked the plank…err…deck into Pirates Cove and found a table for six.We were seated overlooking the marina which had many personal yachts and other large boats moored within the cove. A disappointment was the fact we could not see the river from any location on the barge. The views were strictly the cove and marina. Oh well, we were not really there to stare at the river.The waitress provided good service and was fun as well. We spent the first hour with a couple appetizers of pretzels and onion rings. They were both outstanding. However, the pretzels were a WOW Moment. Big recommendation from the TuesCrew!Eventually we ordered fish sandwiches, fish tacos, crab cakes, grouper and a BLT salad with shrimp skewers. Delish! Even though the location was a bit disappointing, the ambiance and food sure made up for it! We will be back!

First time here and will definitely not be my last . I always read reviews before I try a place and most were really good but lots of people talked about slow service but as a lover of restaurant I know how it gets when busy and you have to come to expect it . Well our server was Lizzie and she was wonderful ! We got our drinks and food extremely fast as it was a Friday night and was very busy with a good band playing . Food was awesome ! Atmosphere was awesome . Can’t wait to go back as I live an hour away but plan on going a lot .

Shelly (spelling & name?) and Alice both helped my friend in a walker go up the back way to avoid the stairs! Food was tasty I had the fajita wrap, my friend had the poboy and loved it. Atmosphere with Live music great breeze from ceiling fans, air right on the water with a view of the river, no complaints! They were very busy on a Sunday at 3:30pm.

We were greeted with excuses before we even placed a drink order. More of the same every time the table was visited. Nice person but the service can’t make up for awful food.Food all came out at same time, including the appetizers. Not even close to the food we used to enjoy there. Five of us and everyone ate half or less. We will not bother going back.

Great place to enjoy laid-back open air seating on the marina. You can pull up your boat and relax. Good food options and plenty of beverages too. On some evenings there can be live music and the crowd is more lively. I dont believe they are open year round, so check when the season is open.

Played music here! Great place, friendly crowd and overall good time. Loading in and out is a bit crazy as a performer there though! Especially when the staff gets tired of waiting for you to finish, so they leave and turn all of the lights off, and you get to haul your last trip of band gear out in total darkness...

Went with an out of town Guest & a friend from West Chester. I arrived late, but well before 6pm. Sat @ the bar, no one came around to take orders. A little after 6 finally asked one of the waitresses standing around if I could order some food. 6:15 a girl walked up, no greeting. I asked about happy hour, which she said ended @ 6. wow, I was there before 6. The rest of the evening got worse. Ordered drinks. Brought them, then walked away. Had to try again to get her attention to order food. Waitress, Taylor acted like she was mad at the world. We had to practically beg for our checks. She then asked us to remind her what we had. Never once did she look in our direction, ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. Food was ok, but service was beyond horrible. Waitresses standing @ theend of the bar chatting & vaping the entire time we were there. 1st & last time I will eat there. Also, dont use the restroom. Horrible condition.

We ordered peel and shrimp. The bartender, Alex, came back with two orders of shrimp cocktail. $13.50 serving without even asking us if that was ok. Also no TVs on because someone stole their Apple TV? Come on. Sounds like management doesn’t manage well. Finally if you are so worried about the environment on the water stop serving plastic and come up with a renewable reusable option. No vone wants to drink wine from a plastic cup.

This was my first time here. And excited to be there if I do say so myself. Food was great. Nothing lacked. Although, with the service beiing as slow as it was it really was not a great experiance. Meleeah got our appetizer wrong. Got the brie stuffed pretzels and just wanted plain pretzels. Never saw her to get it changed so my hungry kids were sitting there starring at food they wouldnt eat (i know, it seems stupid, but if you dont like something you wont eat it. Especially when youre a kid). So that made the vibe of the experience drop a tad bit. I ordered a blood mary when I ordered my app. Took almodt a half an hour to get it and it was so watered down i couldnt drink it. The food finally came out. And man did it look good. But no one had utensils, condiments, and some of us not the right food we ordered. So we all sat. While it got cold not able to eat. I ended up asking another server for utensils so some of us could atleast dive in. I wish i could have enjoyed my experience here but service is a huge part to any experience and it was just not up to par. Very disappointing. To pay $80 for lunch and still feel bad to tip her a $20. I just expect more than what i was offered. I would like to be able to eat my food warm and my drinks fresh.

Wouldnt really know, got there when they were supposed to be open and was approached my a child saying were closed, you cant come in.

If you want to play volleyball this is the place to go to. They have a lot of courts available and. the sand is quite nice. At the bar they do also offer menu items and I had the fried pickles. It was very delectable.

My grouper tacos were cold, tiny, and flavorless. The coconut shrimp was very good. The pulled pork was tough. The happy hour drink prices are great.

Great place to feel like youre at the beach. Food was great, especially the shrimp.

Great view to the entrance and marina. Great vibe. It was unfortunate that sections werent open as we wanted a water/marina view. We sat at the bar. The counter top was dirty and we waited to be greeted by the male bartender; he was short, not helpful with the menu nor beer and drink menu. My friend, wanted an Ohio beer, but was told there were only 2 and was amazed and disappointed because they were both IPA. I was hoping for coconut shrimp but was strayed from the bartender as he suggested meatballs. We asked about the Grouper fingers and he said people get them; we ordered them to share. We noticed after ordering, we had a choice of a salad instead of coleslaw and could have had black beans and rice or onion rings instead of fries. After asking for more water more than twice he brought the food. The tartar sauce was gross, the coleslaw was disappointing as it was apparent that they both came from a pre-made company. The fries were undercooked. We did like Grouper fingers and as asked for the coconut shrimp dipping sauce; good as well. Very upsetting the bartender wasnt attentive and spent much time socializing with a colleague. We are from out-of-town. We do not suggest this establishment and will not return. It is our hope that management is aware and could address this. Best of luck to all.

Went there expecting a family friendly pirate themed experience, but instead got a bar with fried seafood that was just okay. Food wasnt bad, but it was nothing special at all. Service was, again, just okay. Not actively bad but pretty apathetic. The open air seating right on the river was nice, and my daughter enjoyed feeding some ducks that came by. But bottom line, they really do themselves a disservice by claiming to be kid friendly.

Very disappointed after looking at the menu. My onion rings were burnt to almost black. All of the food tasted the same like it was the same. Im guessing because it was all fried in the same oil. Short staffed, which wasnt a big deal, as everywhere is. But, I couldnt believe she would serve food with such horrible presentation. Seafood chowder was cold. I was super excited to check this place out, only to find it didnt live up to our expectations.

Surprisingly good food.Awesome bands.Great drinks.It is a covered open-air bar restaurant at Four Seasons Marina overlooking the 4 long docks with hundreds of boats on the Ohio River.I dont know how they manage to do it - but the bands here are generally outstanding. Lots of classic rock and popular new country music.Grouper Fingers, fried shrimp, southwestern egg rolls, fries, burgers - all very good.

Went for a surprise birthday party and to see the Rock Band Gamut. Parking normally isnt an issue but when a great band is playing ordering food and parking will be. Arrive early if you really planned to eat dinner. Overall the mixed shrimp chicken and cheese sticks was enough to get us through the evening.Lead singer of Gamut made up for the lack of table service. Very very enjoyable evening of dancing and Rocking to the sounds of Gamut.

I love the atmosphere. So beachy and tropical. Drinks are good. Service at first was iffy but picked up and was good. Food was bad. Got a chicken quesadilla and was soggy and water logged.

Food was ok, bloody Marys were excellent, ambience and music were good and the service was top notch. We loved our server Madeline, she did a great job; worth coming back for drinks but not for the food. I had the Southwest salad with shrimp. Not at all what i expected. My husband had a Jack Salmon deep fried on rye, he said it was excellent.

Very disappointed with our food. Usually the food is very good. This time the waitress had no idea what she was talking about. My friend ordered cottage cheese, and received Cole slaw. My husbands grouper was soggy. I asked for avocado, and cheese on my side salad and was told she couldnt do that. I told her I come about once a week and always get that. I ordered chicken quesadilla and got only cheese! Horrible food and service.

We had a ball at this place. Great service from out bartender, Michelle. We took our time, had drinks and relaxed, and slowly ordered courses. We had the peel and eat shrimp which had a great bay flavor to them. We also split the grouper fingers meal. They were light, delicious and perfectly battered. Good enough that I could have ordered another plate of them. All in all we had a great time, the atmospheres wonderful, and the serving staff is warm, polite and welcoming.

I have to say this first...... this doesnt have anything to do with the service or food, but it does speak to the type of people that come to this establishment. When I was walking in, there were 2 men and 2 women behind me. One of the men said, well, $h-t on a homeless person the other man says, yeah thats what theyre for Right then, I didnt feel good about my first visit to Pirates Cove. With that being said, there was a live band. The place was busy, with no organization. It was, seat yourself. 4 servers walked right passed me. I had been seated about 10-15 minutes before I finally got one to even acknowledge me. She ended up being a good server. The food was just okay but it is overpriced. I dont care if I never go back. Sorry, this probably wont be a popular review. But, this was my experience.

Do not come here if you plan to eat at a table and be served by an actual human. Brought my family here on a Sunday evening and sat for 30 minutes and never even got a “hello” from a server. Fun place if you want to stare at an empty table, smell a stinky river and hear your wife and kids complain for however long you can take it. Pirates Cove? More like Daddy’s Hell!

Atmosphere is pretty good but the food was terrible. I’m genuinely not that picky of an eater but the chips and crackers for the soup were stale. The grouper was completely mushy and dripping in grease.Service was horrible. They missed my wife’s order. Forgot our kids drinks. Messed up the bill.We were thrilled with the atmosphere when we walked in but please don’t go for the food or service, you WILL be disappointed.

Nice place inside the Four Seasons Marina. Open air coverd bar and dining area. I went to mee my Sis for lunch on a weekday, so not much of a crowd. Ill bet its packed in the evenings and weekends.

We went here at noon. Left at 3. We waited at least 2 hours for our meal. Im a pretty fair person so the wait didnt bother me. We ordered pretzels and cheese which was cold when it came out. Gumbo was cold and bland. They were out of mostly everything we tried to order so we ended up with a grouper wrap, burger and coconut shrimp. Grouper wrap was mushy and tasted like a swamp. Burger was raw and shrimp was burnt. Literally everything we ordered we returned did not eat. The bill was over 100$ we spoke with the manager and he took 30$ off but still. NOT RECOMMENDED!

The pirates Cove had an adventurous setting & kind of different. It had a live band that i really enjoyed. I loved my waitress, she was very radiant & attentive. My first time being there, i like the first impression i received & the food was great! I will visit again soon.

Not as nice as the pictures show.The damn is always filthy so not a site to look at!They definitely need new performers.That keep bringing in ones with horrible voices. Maybe because there cheaper but thats not good for this business especially with the yachts docked there.They definitely need to upgrade.Could use better choices of food.I had to ask for croutons and cheese and they didnt even have that. LolThey truly need a business ALL around makeover.

Had lunch there today. Food was great as always! Our server, Brandon was exceptional. I wanted a special sauce for my sandwich that wasnt on the menu. Brandon googled the ingredients and made it himself! Well be back soon!

You basically have to fight to get a table (no host). Signs up about tables that are open but you cant sit there. Other signs that food will take 1-1.5 hours. May have been an off night but wasnt a great experience.

This place has a great atmosphere. Service was spot on. The drinks were perfectly made perfect. The food was fantastic. I ordered the grilled chicken breast and shrimp. Flavor was fantastic.

This place is a great outdoor experience... no dogs unfortunately.However, the staff is great! Menu items are vast, something for everyone. They have (often) good musical entertainment.Check it out and let me know if you agree.

Some of the problems were probably our expectations but we didnt have a good time. I am sure it would be great for different groups at a different times. We took kids because the website said Monday was kids night. We were later than we planned. The food took too long for hungry kids and the portions were small even on some of the adult entrees. They did fix one mistake and gave us that meal free. For a group of adults going out for drinks and food with friends I am sure it is a great spot to go and enjoy the marina while enjoying the evening. I would not recommend it for kids.

$17+ for the Cove club sandwich with sweet potato fries...two thin slices of ham & turkey, one thin leave of lettuce and half an end cut of tomato on three pieces of toast. Small portion of rubbery fries. Service was ok. Food was very disappointing, Id advise to not go here hungry.

Awesome place to sit and relax and talk while watching the boats come and go. Food was awesome had the grouper fingers and fry’s, similar to fish and chips very good.

Food was great but too many diners for the 2 servers working. My friend got a burger but no bun. By the time her forgotten bun arrived, the rest of us were finished eating and her patty was cold. The server was just too busy to get it back in time. Otherwise, wonderful!

Yesterday was my first time here and it definitely wont be my last! Grouper, white mac, and crab cakes were amazing. Our waitress even asked the band to sing Happy Birthday to me! 10/10 hands down amazing evening at PC. The atmosphere is absolutely perfect as well!

We went here for my husbands birthday -- it was a beautiful day, and Pirates Cove has a great outdoor patio. We arrived a little before 8, and the kitchen closes at 8:30. We sat for 18 minutes before anyone came over. When someone finally came over, he said we needed to hurry because we only a little while until the kitchen closed. We explained to him we had been sitting here for 15 minutes already without any service. The entire time, the server was clearly annoyed and rushed us. But the real problem was after we finished our food, which we rushed through, when we went to use the restroom. They had locked the restroom, and there was a woman who worked there standing at the entrance to the bathroom door just staring at us. We said that the restaurant was still open, and we needed to use the restroom. She just shook her head and said the kitchen is closed-- so is the restroom. It was absolutely absurd. This is the second time we have been to this place where it completely lacked any sense of professionalism. The last time, we arrived an hour before closing time, and they said they were closed because it wasnt busy and was too expensive to keep the electricity running....seriously??? All of this, and the meals were okay at best. When we have a meal and spend $200, we expect to be able to use the restroom once we are finished.

Food was really good. I got the Carribean Mahi Mahi which was described as having grilled pineapple on top. I just thought it should have been fresh pineapple. But it was canned. That was a bit disappointing.

Horrible experience. Came in for Tuesday night burger night. Ordered an appetizer. Got the salad before the drinks. Then got the entrees. Didn’t get the appetizer until we asked. The server took drinks before we were done with them. Didn’t even offer to discount the appetizer when she CLEARLY forgot about it. Simply poor customer service. The only reason it received a two is because the kitchen staff did a good job.

As avid boaters, we have given Pirates Cove more than enough opportunities to redeem themselves-to no avail. Menu is extremely overpriced for what you get, service is SUBPAR to be generous, and our last waitress added 18% gratuity for 4 adults and 3 KIDS and 2 toddlers. The fastest we have ever gotten food was 40 minutes!The ambiance is great, and Im so disappointed that we have to mark one of the limited boat accessible restaurants off our list. Step it up, people!For reference, my bill for 2 adults, a 4 year old and 2 year old was $69!

Terrible music on Saturday for dinner time. Hope management learns from this one. It wasnt the music she was singing. That was fine. She sounded like a dieing cow. We didnt try the food so cant review that. Had a beer and left.

Pirates Cove is unique eatery located next to the Ohio River that not only offers great views but great food as well. It has a kind of beach style decor happening with Thatched roofs and even a pirate. The atmosphere is laid back and they have a well stocked bar for your relaxation needs. The food although a little pricey to be served in a plastic basket is great. The staff was friendly and our server was both pleasant prompt in anticipating our needs. I really enjoyed it! So on a Wednesday we decided to go dinner at pirates cove and we were highly disappointed, not much on the drink selection, and the food was disappointing to say the least. The server was extremely slow and sometimes rude. They were out of things like mayo and plates. I gave it two stars for atmosphere, the band was good and that was the best thing we had to say about our experience.

Place is awesome. Atmosphere is fantastic. Some food could use work although that is probably due to who is working in the kitchen. Yes they allow smoking because its outside, no complaints here. They run the place how they want it to be and they stand behind it. I certainly applaud that.

Its freaking hot out, and this place is open air. But the music is good, scenery is good, and they do have fans. Got some cold beer, and im happy. Love the sandy beach flooring...

It was horrible. We got there at 5.30 for dinner. We ordered our drinks and 2 cups of soup and our dinner. Our soups were cold and our dinner was cold. The server was horrible and did nothing about it. We will never go back. It took from 5.30 to 8 oclock to get are food. Never again.

Way overpriced and the quality of the food is lacking. Ordered grilled shrimp skewers. Came as a pile of small size shrimp, wrapped in aluminum foil. Should have counted them, but there were maybe 10 in Total. Side salad with wilted brown lettuce and a hair, and passed on the second side. $23+tip! Had water to drink Nothing about this place makes me ever want to return.

Took over 20 minutes to even get someone to greet us, drinks were not good, appetizer came out still frozen, burger was a precooked frozen patty... They only redeeming part was the lobster mac. Spent over 70$ for the whole thing and walked away disappointed. I didnt catch our waitresses name but she did great when she noticed us.

First time here and we were very disappointed with the service and food for the price. Over $100 for a family of 4 with 2 young children. Sandwich was soggy, burger had no cheese and all the food had no flavor. We brought it to servers attention and were made to feel like we were being rude. Server was very unfriendly and not attentive at all. Love the atmosphere and music just extremely disappointed with everything else.I don’t mind paying if everything is worth it. We had grouper sticks and captains plate. Also ordered the seafood chowder. By far one of the best chowders ever. Food was good, staff very kind. Will come again. Outside eating, so come when a pleasant evening. We will come back... live music tonite as well.

When deciding to go to Pirates Cove for our girls night, I had high hopes, but was quickly disappointed! The view is great and the atmosphere is fun, which is what took us there in the first place. But, the food was AWFUL, the prices are outrageous for mediocre food at best and the entire restaurant is seat yourself, so youre left cowering over peoples tables hoping to pounce on one if someone gets up. I got the chicken quesadilla with no onion. I get my meal and its covered in onions. I send it back and they bring it out 15 minutes later, when all my friends had finished eating and my chicken wasnt cooked. So needless to say I didnt eat my food and no discount was given. Beers (regular size cans) almost $5/ea. Our service was terrible. Our server couldnt be more disinterested. My friend asked for another beer and when the server didnt acknowledge her, she asked a second time, where he responded across the room while walking away, I HEARD YOU!! I was disappointed and I would not go back nor would I recommend anyone else going.

We went there with friends one evening to have dinner, and when we arrived, we were told they were closed even though their hours clearly stated they were open. The woman working at the bar said they are privately owned so they can close whenever they want and started talking about the cost to stay open every hour. That is fine if you want to have earlier closing times, but you cant just change it on a whim...businesses have hours for a reason. We were very frustrated since we drove there purely because they were supposed to be open. Not very professional. Besides that experience, we have always enjoyed this place. A very fun atmosphere and pretty decent food.

Loved the Jimmy buffet atmosphere and motif...including sandpit for kids and tired feet...all looking out a boat marina. Good food and bar drink prices...afternoon laid-back music to enjoy the drinks...a must stop if in area... ziggy.

Mediocre. Love the atmosphere! Feels like at the beach. Food was subpar. Calamari was generic and lacked flavor. Grilled grouper tacos were bleh, smooshy and watery. Prices were strong for the quality of food at $15/meal.Will try again and hope its better.

Went to Pirates Cove for dinner with girlfriends last night and was sorely disappointed. The setting was fun and the live music was enjoyable (albeit loud and difficult to converse over), but the food was a big let down. First off, I ordered mozzarella sticks for the table and paid $10 for only 6 sticks.. then after a very long wait for our food 4/5 of us had issues with our food orders either being wrong, burnt, or the fish being basically mush. On top of it all, the drinks and food were all over priced and and the service slow and sparse.

I used to be the assistant chef here and the food is pretty much too notch. The grouper fingers are to die for as well as the chicken tenders. Each order is made fresh to order. Not frozen prebreaded junk. They bread and fry to order. Also the the seafood buffet in the fine dining part which is four seasons restaurant is to die for... They have over 30 seafood items on the buffet to select from. The live entertainment during the summer is also very good. Great atmosphere to take a date or have a date night for you and the wife. Dinner drinks and live music on the river couldnt ask for much more. Enjoy

Worst bar service Ive ever experienced. Young girl behind the bar seem delighted to ignore us, while standing there doing nothing (not busy serving other customers). The man who eventually took our order made a great margarita, but the arrogance of the staff had already ruined it for me.I later found out that the manager tells the staff to act as though customers work for them. The only reason I would go back is to tip the bar staff 15 cents again.

Atmosphere is fantastic. Food was good. My server wasnt good. I ordered a water, she forgot to bring on 3 occasions. I was halfway threw my sandwich when she finally brought it to me. In fairness to her, I think she was overwhelmed. Maybe she was new?.

Do you like the feeling of sand in your toes, if so dont miss this bar & grill. This place floats in a boat marina, so check out the boats and enjoy the view. There was a great live band playing, all while i drank a pitcher of margaritas and played with the sand between my toes.

Super cute little place. Ambience really is everything here. Food is decent, but its just sort of standard American pub and grub type food, nothing too crazy.

Last week I waited 20 min to be greeted and then another half hour to out in our food then when I thought it couldn’t get worst my food came out twice wrong and then when I asked just to put it in a box the the food came out on a plate and took an additional 15 min to get a box the fact that I paid full price still shocks me and makes me question who is running this place wow just wow I’ve been multiple times and loves this place but after being a amazing returning customer you would think they would at least take me food off

I liked the relaxed atmosphere on weeknights. They had acoustic music that wasnt overly loud. I have no idea what the weekends are like BUT, you can actually SMOKE there and only someone who was hoping to be bothered by it would. Its wide open and well ventilated.

Self seating was odd. Atmosphere was good!!!! Service was great!!!! Food was mediocre at best. Mahi sandwich was rubbery (microwaved?), Italian hogey had no flavor and small, Cajun mac and cheese was blah, Marci Gras shrimp tasted like it had been sitting in the window half the evening. Calamari was decent. Prices were high for quality of food. Raise quality of food to justify price, and well be back with company. You have a gem with the location, just get some better food. Great views of beautiful boats, service and was wonderful with being reasonable prices. Only negative was birds nests above the tables that hadnt been cleaned out and pieces of the nests and spider web stuff was falling as the day was quite windy.

Loved this restraunt we went before the Dave Matthews Band concert at River Bend and had great food with Cheap drinks. I had the Fajita Wrap with 4 Beers and it was $24.00! Great Value and fun place.. The bar area is actual sand!

Jared was our server who did a fine job. Our party of 4 had no complaints. The food was good, the atmosphere was great considering it was 90 degrees in the shade! Very nice, will be back.

Food was ok. Music was skipping? Almost like listening to a Walkman during a jog? Lol confused me to what year it was. Service was not good. Waitress took 10 mins to greet us. Forgot a salad we ordered, and forgot waters we ordered. Smoking is permitted and was going right in my face as I was trying to eat.

If you are looking for a tropical feel in Cincinnati, OH then you want to go here! They have a great menu selection, good drink selection, the setting is very tropical where there is even sand around the bar. You can watch boats come and go and listen to music like Steel Drums. I highly recommend visiting here!!

Atmosphere best thing about place. great setting and ambience... Everything else mediocre. Drinks not so great... food overpriced and just average, staff just adequately friendly. In all fairness went early afternoon on Tuesday (4:00 ish) .. might be better in evening or wknd. But went hoping for fun Tropical Island experience ... not so much .

Poor service. Worse food. We ordered the ribs and wings. Both were horribly undercooked. The wings were breaded and were bright red inside. The ribs were so undercooked you could not pry the meat from the bone. We told our server who only offered us to go boxes. Service was so poor I felt like I was begging for my drinks.

Big fan of this place. I had the Cajun white Mac and cheese, and although it was delicious, it did not have much Cajun spice. Maybe my taste buds are dying off, but who knows. Solid drink selection and I will be back in the near future!

Do not recommend this place at all. says it’s kid friendly (it is not). also in a time where mask mandates are being put in place, i did not see ONE worker wearing a mask. our server used a community water pitcher to refill drinks, was leaning over our table, very clear they do not care about their guests or trying to be clean or safe whatsoever. only gave one star because i had to... i’d rate this place 0 if i could. i used to be a server and we still tipped way too much. also the bathrooms didnt have toilet paper. if youre looking for a place to eat that is even attempting to be clean, have decent service, or for an overall better experience... i would recommend literally anywhere but here. 0/5

Pricey for what you get ($15 for an 8oz. hamburger, no sides included, an additional $4.50 for 6 small onion rings), but yummy just the same. Would go more often if prices were a little lower. $20 for a burger and fries is a bit hefty. Good service, friendly staff, nice venue on the harbor with good views of the marina.

The atmosphere is great with the views and being able to put your feet in the sand. However, service was very slow and the spider situation was out of control!! There were huge spiders everywhere once the sun went down, and there was a massive web as you walk out with probably over 50 huge spiders that were very active in this gigantic mass of webs! It was unavoidable and you had to walk underneath this in order to leave! Anyone with a spider fear/phobia does not want to go here after dark especially! Please invest in an exterminator!!! Sorry.

Horrible service. There were mayby a dozen other patrons present most of which were at the bar. We sat in plain sight and waited and waited. The service staff was standing un a huddle chatting without a care in the world. Another couple walked in and they had immediate service. When questioned the server and one of her coworkers babbled about switching off or some kind of nonsense. Unacceptable. She has one job. Good service. There is no excuse when you were observed standing around shooting the breeze with your coworkers. I understand they are young kids but come on be respectful and do your job. Needless to say we walked out and will not return.

We have always enjoyed our lunches at Pirates Cove but we wish they would update their hours on Google when they are closed. We made the trip to find no one there at lunch time. Ended up at the national Exempler in Mariemont and all was good.

The bartender doesnt know drinks well. I asked for a red white and blue shot. Which is a layered shot. I got instead 1 red shot and sprite mixed with blue. They hovered over us asking every 3 minutes if we were ready. Did not provide any speciality drinks or anything. Menu was very bland as well.

I really like this place for the atmosphere, I strangely really do feel like Im in vacation here. Over priced and I hate how seating is first come first serve, but I will still be back. Lost a star just because the margaritas seem to be premixed, cant understand why they wouldnt have great margaritas with the kind of place theyre running.

Great atmosphere. Large variety of food. More bar food than not. Pricing on draft beer is very expensive( domestic beer at import prices). Had the Cuban sandwich, was in a word...nasty. Have a small sand area where a family could eat while kids play in sand.

The food was disappointing. Service was good but we barely eat any of the food that we ordered. It was extremely poor quality. We feel we wasted our money. Will not be back to eat. Would be fine to just drink ( canned beer as our draft beers were flat).

It pains me to leave a bad review because we love Pirates Cove. However, with the limited seating after the pandemic reopening they do not have a hostess. It is seat yourself. All seats were full and you had to wonder around to find an opening of which there were none. Others were doing the same. I would have gladly waited 30 minutes or more to seat our party if there had been an orderly process.I hope they rectify this quickly.

Live music here is awful. We left because we couldn’t take the auditory assault any longer. Personal musical preferences aside, the ABSOLUTELY EAR PIERCING, WINDOW SHATTERING VOLUME of the music here is a problem. You cannot hear anyone you’re with, and you have to scream at each other just to talk. I have no idea why management thinks this is a fun thing for people on a Sunday night. Live music is great - live music turned up to earth shaking levels is decidedly not fun

Had to wait over 45 minutes for our food today. Watched 3 other tables eat and leave whIle we were waiting. Think our waitress forgot to put in our order. She never said... and bit over priced. Dont think well be back anytime soon!

Had some oysters on the half shell, two crab cakes, a margarita on the rocks and some angry orchards in the can. Watched the Kevin McCoy Band... Had a really good time! The band interacted with the crowd, they even sang feathered Indians for me by Tyler Childers!

Love this place, tiki hut atmosphere on a boat in the Four Seasons marina. This was a fun experience, good casual food and service.

Captain Jack! A Live Pirate entertained our table 8/25/19 it was a great time he even worked to teach a handshake and create a “pirate name” with our child. Food & atmosphere did not disappoint. 1st time here but will be back for more live pirates especially when family & friends come into town to visit.

This a summertime staple for us. We enjoy the atmosphere and people. However, in our first venture out for the evening, I was surprised that the wait staff had no masks or gloves. The tables and bar stools were spaced out, but there were reusable menus on the bar and no hand sanitizer available.I am disappointed in the handling of the reopening. This is in direct contrast to Cancun on the river where we had lunch earlier. Masked wait staff, downloadable menus and many obvious hand sanitizer stations. Cmon Pirates Cove, do the right thing guys!

One of the more entertaining places to go and sit outside in the summer. They have entertainment at times, which is usually good. Menu is fairly diverse. Only thing to be aware of is they get busy when Riverbend is busy, so plan ahead.

Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.I believe seating is more readily available during mid week as opposed to going on the weekend.Food and service was fair. I Enjoyed the band that was playing.Overall it was a good experience.

1st visit to this location/place/restaurant/marina. Live music good food(try the coconut shrimp yummy) soft napkins. I couldnt see the river from my table. Regardless, I will return and maybe hit some balls at the range nearby.

Sat for 45 minutes with 0 service. Even asked 2 different servers for menus. They said, “yeah sure!” and never returned to our table.

Outside on the dock, good food, nice music not too loud. Can be a busy place on weekends. Broiled and fried fish and much more large menu.

Fair at best. 3 of us ate there on a Saturday for lunch. The overpriced food was fair at best. Stop at McDonalds for a fresher salad. Club Sandwich was meh. much more bread than tasteless meat and you should probably find better bacon as I am not sure it was even bacon. All in all, you can find much better pretty much anywhere else than here for food. Leave Pirates Cove for alcohol and the live music as their food is certainly an afterthought. Food was ok. I had calamari. Seemed to mostly banana peppers than calamari. Disappointing. Then got their Island Shrimp Wrap. No seasoning. Just cheese and rice. 4 or 5 shrimp. I had the Key Lime Martini. That was REALLY good. Atmostphere was pleasant.

Poor service (some of our group left due to this because of repeat experience) and $9.75 for a Sam Adams draft beer. The waitress even apologized for the price. Im glad I didnt order food.

Live music. Dance floor. Great outdoor space on dock. Nice variety on the menu. Bathroom trashed.

The view and atmosphere is the main draw, but if you like beach restaurants and are stuck in Ohio, its great. Food was good, and the happy hour drink specials are pretty great.

Not a smile on any staff members face. Felt like a hassle to the bartender when she was not busy (we were the only customers at the bar). We were never asked if we wanted anything to eat. Another staff member lit a cigarette in the walkway behind the bar. A group of staff members crowded at the end of the bar and just stood there, with the bartender having her back to us. Awful experience and service.

Great atmosphere. Food is good and service prompt. Possiblity the best outdoor dining/bar in Cincinnati. I love bringing visitors here who think Cincinnati is uninteresting.

Love the fun atmosphere. Just wish they had more tropical/island like live music on Sundays, and after 5pm through the week. Id go a lot more often. 🌴🌴🌴

CONSUMER BEWARE: This place was portrayed to be a family oriented restaurant. This is a marina bar that smells like old lime and draft beer, not for a family. We walked in and walked right back out. Extremely disappointed.

Enjoyable outside dining. Cool breeze from the river. Fun crowd. Food is a little expensive for bar food. Not fine dining, but still a great way to enjoy outside dining while we can.

We love this place. Good food, awesome booze, and a great view. The staff is extremely nice and always making sure everyone has a good time.

We have always enjoyed coming here. The atmosphere is fantastic. Food isnt bad at all. My kids like sitting and looking at the water. I like the feeling of it being vacation.

This place was fun! We came here for my wifes birthday and everyone had a great time. Unfortunately the vibe was way better than the food. Overpriced, and extremely greasy.

Very very nice atmosphere, well the food...lets just say it could be better,service.... definitely could be better,... cleanliness definitely better,would say prices are as they should be but the food is but mediocre,but the boats,the water the view,very,very nice... Great little hidden gem I came across killing time until a show. If youre looking for a friendly place to have a drink and some food on the river during the summer, this place kills it. Suggest trying the Bourbon on the Beach, a simple but delicious Bulleit cocktail.

Alcoholic drinks were very watered down. Drink menu was outdated. Although very nice atmosphere on a nice summer night with a live band playing.

Yikes. Went during the 2-6 Happy Hour and my half-price beer was still $6.38! Nachos were standard at best and a jaw dropping $14! Never again.

Always fun. Food always delicious, the fish tacos with the mango sauce its my favorite. Our waitress was very friendly.

The band was great and watching all the beautiful boats on the water was very relaxing

Pirates Cove is a great bar and restaurant on the Ohio river featuring live entertainment on weekends. Good food and friendly service, its one of my top choices to get some food or a beer.
