If I were to pay what most of you paid, I probably wouldnt gripe. This place is chill and is great for a fishing getaway. I booked a last-minute trip and paid $260 for the night. Way overpriced. The room is run down with stained towels. The shower is strong, but wanted to spray sideways. The tv didnt work so couldnt watch anything.The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The AC was nice and worked well. The shower curtain could use some weights at the bottom, so the curtain isnt pulling towards you when you are trying to shower. The Towel rod was missing so we couldnt hang towels. The location is good with the ability to park in front of your room. I would have given a better review had I paid half the price because you get for what you paid for and I paid for the price of 2 rooms at least.

My 5 star review vs yours wont be the same because we prefer the rough around the edge hotel as theyre forgiving, tolerable, and no hassle! Great location. Friendly staff. The sheets were nice and clean! Ive stayed at 300$ Hiltons with dirty sheets! So that was a plus! Had fridge/microwave. Parked right in front of my room so packing was a breeze!. Ac worked good. Its old and is what it is but it definitely does the job. If you want a chill experience and not expecting the world this is the perfect place. Will definitely stay again. Thanks!

Room was clean, sheets clean, had microwave fridge, and stove/oven. Water temp in shower was perfect, no complaints for the basics. This was an economical, very close to beach and the Padre Island Natl seashore. Tropical storm Alberto named today, still enjoyed the down time and relief from heat. If you dont require the faciest place to stay, this place is affordable and convenient . Had some water come under the door, but staff brought towels in and it wasnt a problem. Parking lot gets full of water but not undrivable.

Decided last minute that camping on the beach in June might kill me. I was able to book a room on a Friday afternoon within 5min. The rooms are nothing fancy but the ac works, the beds are comfy and the manager was very friendly

Quick and easy Check-in not too bad. Its not a brand new place. It is a little old and nothing is modern or up to date other than the tv. But AC worked great, really had no issues. Other than some noisy neighbors

Stuck me next to a worker and all he did was slam his door all night, then room had no wash cloths and no way to stop up the tub,then had no way to iron my pants cause had no iron in the room and they had no ice machine but top it all off woke up to bed bug bites and had to go to the doctor....Poor hotel, would not advise to stay there!!!!!!!

Rooms were kind of clean. No shower towel racks (nowhere to hang wet towels). Paint splatter everywhere. Just no attention to detail, very basic detail. Hotel would be a half star. Door handle barely held locking mechanism, key doesnt work for deadbolt. AC worked great. Not worth more than $40 a night

Affordable, A/C worked, room was clean, staff was kind. I will stay there again.

Honestly no real complaints but were pretty easy going, bed and shower what we need when visiting the beach. Coffee makers would have seriously helped get our mornings going. No complaints, definitely not ideal for a long term stay but for a quick affordable beach trip it did the job.

Unfortunately the only positive thing I can say about this motel is that the office staff was extremely friendly and amazing location to all of the beaches. If it werent so late at night I would have asked for a refund and driven home. I was on the 2nd floor, rom 122, felt as if every step I took I was going to fall through the floor (I weigh 162 lb.) There was hair underneath the top blanket that as not mine. I happened to have a sheet that I took to the beach, I slept on top if that. I turned my hair dryer on, all of the electricity turned off. The A.C. unit is so small, barely cooled off the room. The furniture is so outdated and creepy, feels as if the picked it up from someones junk at the end of a curb, it was missing a drawer, kept together with random screws. The window curtain was so see through and not darkening at all. There were several mattresses just piled up near the dumpster, only place we could park. Not sure if they didnt pay the bill, but every channel read this channel unavailable . I was very uncomfortable here. If I would have checked in earlier, I would not have stayed, but was not safe for me to drive home at that hour.

I give one star for the semi clean Beds, plus the room offered a Refrigerator and Microwave.This place was recommended to me, because I was planning to bring a Pet. Thankfully did we not.We booked a 3 Bedroom during Memorial day a few days out and stayed for one night.Apparently the Pest terminator service worked, since the cockroaches in the Bathtub where dead. The Bathroom door was absolutely filthy and apparently was never cleaned ever. I hope the owner read this review and clean their rooms better. The room was also not cleaned well, filth underneath the Microwave (I had to move it) etc. and human hair all over the place!The Toilet was also leaking, but could not be repaired that day. We paid 180$ for one night during the Memorial weekend!Thankfully did we bring lots of disinfection wipes!I do not recommend this place!Since we booked the room a few days out, a check up on the room prior from the Owner would have been highly recommended!

Ive stayed at some dirty a ss cheap places traveling on budget and this place by far takes the cake for being one of the most disgusting place ever! First thing i saw when i opened the door was cockroaches, dirty floors, towels with hairs and stains, lights were bright enough to blind you, but the worst part is having the worst neighbors. There were only four rooms booked as far as i noticed but why give a room next to already occupied room when there were other empty rooms?One best thing about this place is the location.

Close to all things on the island of basic need and convenience. The rooms are clean and basic and newly remodeled. The staff was very nice. They also have extended stay rates available. Cheap if you get it online I think it was like barely over 60 fora nights stay. Definitely a repeat place. Theres no pool or amenities its just a decently priced place to stay over night. No pool or ice machine but its cheap and clean and they have wi-fi and tv and a fridge and microwave...good enough!!

Small quaint hotel room located very close to Bob Hall pier and the beach. Great location. Yet Not for the high class. The room had two large beds, two end tables, two ashtrays, a wall mounted TV, a table and chairs and a microwave. And yes shower and sink, toilet. Perfect for a fast getaway to the beach at a competitive price. And we were allowed to bring our dog too at a fair price added each day. Management was very pleasant and very negotiable. Thank you sir. We will rent from you again in the future.

Needs a lot of work to get it up to par. The room we were in smelled bad, but to be fair to the Manger, he ask me if the room was ok with me. I was tired and just needed rest so I just took it.There was no wall outlet other then where the air-conditioning and T.V were plugged in so if you needed to change your accessories youd have to do with out either the T.V or A/C. We had to cut our stay short and there was no trouble getting a refund on our second day of stay.

Dont go there. For $97 a night I did not expect paper thin stained sheets and towels as well. Shower head was broken. Tub was slippery from previous soap scum, can tell it wasnt scrubbed well. Room smelled, dirty mirror, sticky wood floor. Ugh terrible!!!! Will never go back or recommend.

Great location..I understand it is a older motel but when I pay over a 130 dollars a night for a room I do expect for it to be clean. One..the bathroom door was nasty takes a couple of mins to wipe it down. next the shower curtain had old back mildew on it. Really you can replace them cheap. Then at night when I got up there were roaches out and about. You also should think about getting new mattresses because the one in the room I was in must have been there for a long time.

It was clean beds were a little hard pillows were fluffy no weird smells. Only things I’d suggest is the AC to be moved it was hot for a couple of hours but at night it felt good.

If your looking for a cheap place to lay your head at the end of a long day at the beach. This place will do.the trick. We showed up to find out everything on the island was booked. We stumbled upon this place on our search after a 7 hour drive. I will say if youre uppity this place isnt for you. Its not horrible but could definitely use a bit of cleaning up. Otherwise you cant beat the price!

I liked this motel because of its proximity to the beach. Just a stones throw away. Also the price cant be beat. Clean rooms and free WiFi are definitely a plus. The place is run by a charming Indian couple who were very nice and accomadating. Direct TV on the screen in the room was also very nice. Cant go wrong with this pick and for the money an all around great deal

Not the best rooms in the world but is comfortable to get a shower change and go back to the Beach very friendly helpful employees was very clean and had the amenities needed

Very nice Staff clean rooms I could tell the lady was busy so it took a her little while to get us towels but thats okay because I know what thats like the only problem was with the front desk guy I locked the top lock and put the chain on he was trying to open our door and then knocked and said he was trying to open another room but had the room key to our door and then said he didnt see us in the system that was the only down fall but other than that great hotel and great location minutes from the beach

Best place on the island to stay, good rates! Very clean rooms, the owners go all out on there cleaning. Been here for 2 weeks and have enjoyed every minute if our stay, the air conditioning is wonderful. This motel is close to the beach the jettys and bobhall pier as well as all the good fishing spots in between. The owners are extremely friendly and they even have a little patio setup to set your grill to bbq!This is the best Motel on the island an absolute favorite and we will be coming back to it every year!

Clean facility, for the price and location this is a good place to stay. Owners were friendly, place was quiet. Wifi, mini fridge, cable tv, pets allowed with nonrefundable deposit, access to late check out for hourly rate. Literally across the street from Bob Hall Pier. For a small inexpensive motel to grab a few hours of sleep and a hot shower, I will stay here every time I come to Corpus Christi/Padre Island for fishing or just to get some beach time in.

I’ve been going to the Monterrey for years. Very comfortable stay! Close to the beach, clean rooms and dog friendly!

Very comfortable, but dont judge a book by its cover... but i drought my own sheets. If it was judge by the AC... they would be a five star Motel... Over all happy. Good Night

Weve been staying there for years. Always friendly, rooms are great, if you are sleeping and heading out. Cheap rates, no pool, no problem, we are there for the beach and fishing anyway.

I stayed back in August during a random beach visit. I plan on coming back very soon. The room was clean and it was quiet and peaceful.

Great price right next to the beach, $69, very nice people & accommodating, room window opens for fresh air, clean/new bathtub, room smelled fresh & clean, no hint of cigarette smoke, tile floors in some rooms, pretty & colorful room.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, inexpensive, especially in the off season. Some smoking rooms. Microwave and mini fridge in most rooms. Weve stayed there several times, hopefully again soon.

Weve stayed here several times owners are nice . if you dont bring extra pillows they have them. for the price it will do because everyone else in the area is 300.00 for a night they were 86.00 for the night .

Good quiet clean cheap hotel near mustang beach. Lots of cartoon channels for your kids to watch.

Its got the basics and thats it. It could have been a little cleaner but it didnt freak me out. I had my kids with me so it was nice not being worried that they might wreck something. That being said, we got what we paid for and it was exactly what I was expecting.

Place was infested with fleas smelled funny and looked like it was part of a horror movie do not stay here. Now my truck has fleas everytime we get in we get bit. Cant wait to get home and clean my truck of fleas.

Theyre super friendly, its way inexpensive, beach accessible!!but cold showers, ac is meh, bed & towels not great. but i personally can handle that.

The room, bed, bathroom were all clean. The man who helped us was polite. Soap is provided but not shampoo. I would stay again.

Needed last second holiday weekend motel. They have so many new renovations. Tile floors, new appliances etc. Great deal!! Great secret near coast!!

Its really nice for a low budget hotel and well it dont have nothing good but a flat screen and WiFi but I mean if u tryna spend the time working I recommend here but if u come for vacation I really dont

I have been going to this motel ever since I can remember! I have so many wonderful memories there. This place is so pretty and in good condition.

I just called to ask for availability for this Saturday night, first they said yes it will be 75$/night but we do not have any cable or TV, I said not a problem since I will be arriving in late night and checkout at 11am on Sunday, then the lady said hold on a second, mmmm, No, I dont have anything call another day to see if they cancel.

So friendly other motel where to expensive for us Oklahomans check in time was any time not have to wait 12 or 3 parking was in your front door great!great!great! Thank you Monterrey Motel

Great price and nice room! Very close to the beach. According to owner, this is the oldest motel near balli beach park!

It was a one star motel, so I guess I cant complain too much. See for yourself :-)
