What a cool and special venue ! I was so happy to get to see 311 at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom ! The staff upon entry were totally cool and awesome, I was impressed we were allowed to bring bottles of water in without any issues. The stage setup was great, and the staff was immediately attentive to an issue that happened on the floor before the show started. I was so impressed with how very nice the staff and crew were. I dont know if its just Denver or what, but it was really nice just to have such cool people there. 😁 The House Manager was a really cool gal, too. We chatted a bit after the show. The atmosphere of the place was really classic artsy, you could feel the History in the building. It does get warm in there, so make sure to hydrate !!! But the sound was great, the energy was great, and it was just a cool little place to see my favorite Band do their thing. Theres also a School of Rock there too, the kids were impressive as they practiced just prior to doors opening ! Cool 😎Thank you Cervantes, Im so glad I was able to be there ! 💙🎶☮️
What a fantastic first visit to Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom! Flew in from Florida to see my sons Thought Process and friends show and the venue did not disappoint! From beginning to end, everyone did an amazing job! Employees were all helpful and friendly! The sound system was awesome and it was just a great, safe venue experience overall and I would highly recommend you check it out for your music pleasure! The artists were ALL amazing, playing to a full house! Great guests and music and it felt like being a part of one big family get-together! I think a great time was had by all! 🙌🙌🥂
This is not only one of the best music venues around, but the staff is remarkable. Everyone is so kind. For people who love music, this place is not just a good time, but a spiritual haven where youre surrounded by hundreds of your best friends. On my most recent visit, Josh, a security guard had to take care of me. I showed up to the venue with a bit of a stomach ache and by the end of the evening it was apparent that I had food poisoning. His grace and kindness meant the world to me when I felt my worse. Thank you, Josh for being a good person. Youre a kindred spirit.Thank you, Cervantes! Youre the best!
The venue itself is incredible. The giant disco ball makes a difference that I didnt know I needed in my life. The sound guy and the lights guy did an incredible job with making the concert feel even better than it already was. The sound was amazing and perfect. The bartenders were attentive and awesome at their jobs, too! I had an awesome experience, and I will go back whenever I have a chance to.
Came out from Minnesota to see 311. We hadn’t been to Cervantes before and this venue does not disappoint! It appears to have an approximate capacity of 1000, so you’re not going to find a bad seat in house. Owners of this venue clearly place the highest priority on providing a positive experience for concert goers. The staff is very friendly and engaging with patrons. Even when having to direct or redirect crowds, it was done respectfully and appropriately. Entry into venues can sometimes be chaotic and stressful. Crowd management upon entry was very well-organized. It was clear that the entry plan was clearly communicated from leadership/management to all employees. Thank you Cervantes, can’t wait to come back!
BEWARE! I came here with my sister to see Sublime in July and had not been to this venue before. Upon arriving on a 100 degree day, I realized the temperature wasnt much better in there. The LARGE crowd and the multiple types of smoke inside the venue didnt help the air quality much either.I personally witnessed 3 people pass out inside due to the poor conditions. I was unfortunately another casualty before the main act even started having 2 drinks in the hour and a half I was there. I passed out at the bar as I was trying to get water and next thing I knew I was being escorted outside by someone on staff. He sat me next to another patron who had just passed out and told me I was #7 of the night ALREADY.The staff member did ask if I was ok and gave me water and ice for my head, which was bleeding from me passing out. I also ended up with a ginormous bruise on my arm, which Im guessing is from me sliding down the bar as I passed out. I was then told the venue has a new policy surrounding people passing out, which is you are NOT allowed back in the venue because you would be a liability. I was told they used to let people back in and they would pass out again and it became a problem. IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE A POLICY SURROUNDING PEOPLE PASSING OUT BECAUSE ITS SO HOT AND SMOKY, THATS A VENUE PROBLEM. Also, since its such a problem, wouldnt having medical on staff probably be a reasonable idea?My sister who I was with, thought I was at the bar, as I told her I was getting water because I was starting to feel really hot. I attempted to text her letting her know I was outside and not allowed back in, but there was no reception and my messages werent going through. I asked the staff member if he could at least escort me in to find her letting her know what happened and that I was not able to stay for the concert and I was told, NO.So I, a female bleeding from her head who had just passed out was left alone outside the venue with no way of contacting my sister. I am lucky in the sense that I was sober and somewhat coherent after my fall that I didnt wander around lost or get picked up by some weirdo.I went to the box office to ask if I could at least get a refund and was told to Call back on Monday. This place is an embarrassment that is run poorly and has absolutely no consideration for their patrons well being and safety. Reading other reviews the temperature, smoke and over capacity isnt anything new. I am contacting Denver health and making sure this doesnt happen to anyone else.
Parking is nowhere near enough. For an older building. That has been re-done. It is in fairly good shape. Plenty of areas to watch the entertainment. I never experienced a type of waiting for the bathroom but definitely freezing outside waiting to get in. well they went through the process of checking everybody. The drinks in the drink when you were extensive. So that was a surprising bonus.
Genuinely friendly staff. Some of the very nicest I’ve encountered at any venue anywhere. Sound is very good to great and is pretty good most anywhere in the venue. Lines are usually pretty short or nonexistent. Ticket deals on Wednesday. Finally, they get great shows. Probably my most visited venue in Denver.
Incredible venue with a rich history, sweet layout, and plenty of room to dance. I also really appreciate them being a “flow friendly” venue, meaning flow artists like myself can come dance with our LED props. The door guys were incredibly friendly, and the bartenders were lightning fast. I can’t say a enough good things about Cervantes. Just go there and tell them “Toasty from Texas” sent you. 🔥🍞
Fix your A/C! I was so excited for a show last night and ended up leaving half way through the show because I just couldnt stand the heat, let alone enjoy myself. I bought only 1 drink and 3 bottles of water. I just couldnt justify spending money on a 4th bottle because I was sweating so much. It was miserable. the only reason for 2 stars is that it definitely could be a fun venue if people werent packed in like sardines with a less than sufficient cooling system. Its summer in Denver. It gets hot. You arent a new event space. Get it together.
Hands down one of the best music venues in the city. Drinks are reasonable, sound is great. They get a lot of variety, sometimes they will even have both sides open and you can go back and forth to see different acts.
This is a great concert venue. It is smaller than other venues but it enhances that intimate music feel. The sound was pretty good throughout the venue regardless of where you are located. Service at the bar was great as well!
Best spot to catch some underground electronic music. No more 5am close but it’s all good! Place has cleaned up but still authentic and chill and no drama. I’ve been there 100 times and never seen a fight but I did see two girls eat each other out on the dance floor once! 😋 Shift Thursday is where it’s at!
This is the best music venue in Denver! We have organized multiple sold-out Bollywood events here, and every time the staff, from the bartenders to security to FOH technicians, have been nothing but respectful and friendly. Not to mention, they are top-notch in their craft as well. Our guests always speak highly of this venue. It offers a fantastic platform for minorities like us to showcase the talent and culture to a wider audience, which I find incredibly inclusive and accommodating.
This is one of my top 4 favorite venues in the denver metro! The new improvements made to acoustic treatment and PA + FOH really made this venue top notch! I have been coming here for over 15 years and this is the best its ever been! The ballroom is the bigger side of the dual venue. The venue known as the other side serves as a smaller venue next door! At dual venue shows you may go back and forth from one room to the other + a outdoor patio on the other side.Big shout out to the staff here! From box office to bar, security and techs everyone involved makes this the great venue it is!Shift thursdays have been one of the biggest nights of the week to look forward to for a year or two now. The lighting & visuals are always top notch with all the best local and touring artists coming thru!
The Other Side was quite packed for a Thursday night due to it being a Bass lineup and Denver being the defacto Bass capital. Sound was great and the crowd was into it. When it gets too loud you can give your ears a break in the patio. Always a pleasure visiting this hallmark Denver venue. Definitely recommend 👌
Super fun venue! Really nice staff. Quick service at the bar too. Went to see Mihali and it was such a fun show. If you don’t wanna pay for coat check, get there a bit early and score one of the spots along the sound booth or on the poles. There’s coat hooks and space to put drinks! Really convenient setup.
This venue books great acts, and is a perfect place to have fun. Unfortunately the sound is not good here. Multiple shows Ive seen the sound is sharp and piercing. The most recent one I saw the speakers shorted out multiple times. To respond to your question, the show in question was The Sponges. The speakers popped multiple times and cut out.
Wow! Talk about wonderful customer service!! Both Duncan, the owner, and Megan, the manager, are very helpful and understanding. I can’t believe how quickly they both responded to needs I had after a show and how understanding and kind they were. I would definitely recommend this venue and will be watching for upcoming shows, so I can purchase tickets and support this venue! Thanks again!!
Wish they booked more interesting shows that catered less to burners but one of the few truly independent venues left in Denver with reasonable drink prices and a cool history. Would love if you got back to the roots of booking jazz!
Cervantes remains a great local venue in Denver. Hard to get the combination of good venue with good bookings. Cervantes seems to have some effort in this area, consistently pulling in decent groups. The place is not large, but has a very good intimacy with stage without being stuffy. The sound is setup well balanced over the floor. The service at the bars is usually quick as those working the spots really bust their tails. The venue is a concert hall so the bathrooms are to be expected…not the best. Drinks are good, with general bar mixed drinks limited in selection.Unique to venues that are similar is the wrap around balcony. Good spot if you need a seat and quick access to a bartender. The views are good but somewhat restrictive in some spots. There is a good chance somebody you want to see play live will be here, don’t hesitate, enjoy it!
Its a good place to see a show. They often over sell tickets, so it can be very crowded. Expensive drinks, not enough bar staff, but thats typical for a Denver music venue.
Best venue in Denver. Ability to pay with cash, check. Great view and sound, check. Lower drink prices than the average corporate venue, check. Coat check, check.Love this spot. Please never sell to AXS!
Great night watching Shakedown Street! Staff was awesome! I have back problems and needed a place to sit for the show, they helped me secure a spot close to the stage and made the show accessible! Great times!!!
Balcony seating! Please read this if youre looking for the VIP seating area.If you do not get there super early to be the first to stand in line, you will not be seated on any of the little stools. So you will pay double or triple the price of a regular ticket and you will not be able to see the performance. Im pregnant and we paid extra for the balcony seating, doors opened at 7:00 p.m. we showed up to the venue at 7:15, waited in a line for 20 minutes and there were no seats. Finally someone felt bad enough and shared their seat with me and I was very grateful. The other issue in the balcony is that any of the seating on the corners is entirely blocked by either a large pole or a huge speaker. The show I saw I referred to as the toes show because I pretty much watched the feet of my favorite performer play for an hour. Also keep in mind if you do get balcony seating, the bathroom is downstairs across the venue.
Last time I went to Cervantes was like 2009 so it,s been a minute. We did our new years festivities there as we got tickets for one of the shows they were having. We went to the Doc Martin and Mark Farina show. It was pretty awesome as expected. The DJ,s killed it, but I don,t want to forget the soundmen/engineers/mixing console guys as they have an important role in any show and they usually go unoticed because people are focused on the artists, in which they made it sound great the whole night. I been listening to Mark Farina since Mushroom Jazz Vol I came out in like 1997, and I had never seen him before so needless to say I was long overdue. He,s a cool dude and def shows his fans mad love. Here,s a picture me and my brother took with him. I will remember that day for the rest of my life. Thank you Cervantes, Mark Farina, and Doc Martin for making this last new years/ eve one I will always remember. A+++💯🔥✊🏽🤘🏽👍🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽
The bartender was really patient and kind, and the atmosphere was very chill and welcoming in terms of security. DJ Quik was the only artist I watched perform, and Im still feeling good from it days later.
I was there for the sold out Slowdive show this past Friday. Not a bad place to see a show, however, it can get a bit crowded if its sold out show. Felt like I had to push people just to get to the bar and restrooms. It can also get awkward for those trying to buy merch and the line wraps around the venue which cuts off trying to queue at the bar.. The beer are reasonably price .. Two Stellas and a Coors Light were $18. In Austin, Texas that would had been over $20! at many popular music venue. I was also surprise how cold it was in there many times its the opposite so yeah good points for that or was it the cool weather that helped?;) Great sound! Slowdive are a shoegaze band so glad it wasnt too deafening in there.
I love seeing shows at Cervantes! Its more intimate, with ticket prices that allow you to see that many more shows in a year. The patio you can access from Other Side is one of my favorite corners to hang in, frequented by many of the musicians we come to hear. If youre in the ballroom, get your drinks from Jill. Youll get nothing short of incredible service, a perfectly crafted beverage, and a beautiful smile. Keep up the great work CC (Cervantes Crew)! Be seeing you soon!
Not a bad atmosphere but VIP section is not worth the extra price for your ticket. The front view is obstructed by what appears to be a speaker. Not enough seating and no restooms near by so you end up having to go through the crowd downstairs to use the restroom. I would say save yourself money and just pay general admission.
Ive been coming here for 15 years. This place gets better and better every year. I love the new sound ugrades. Check out summer lineup!
Love this intimate venue! Definitely check out a show. They have a long stacked schedule of local and larger talent. Bar is usually quick. Theres usually some food available. Theres coat check on the Other side, I cant remember if Cervantes side does but I would guess yes. Theres a patio out back too and there was a guy selling art last time I was there. Great place! Go!
Cervantes masterpiece is the kind of place you need a local to tell you to go. When they say theres a thing is home field advantage a recommendation to a place like this is like striking solid gold. On the night I was here we caught Son Little and Eric Kranos, with a bonus opening set from James the 8th. Intimate, an incredible bar serving spirits, handcrafted beers, and anything else youd like. No matter where you stand or sit your next to the action with great acoustics and you feel like youre absorbing the whole experience in an actual bar with a great stage designed for this exact experience. These new chains cant do this kind of thing so I recommend you do the same and check out Cervantes the next opportunity you got.
Incredible how much this place has grown through the years. Big fan, great acts. Great people and vibes and awesome sound system.
The sound is outstanding. Staff is on point. Music selection is great. Ill be stopping every time Im in town!!
Cervantes has been one of my favorite venues since I moved to Colorado in 2014. It hosts a variety of electronic/funk/jam/psychadelic type genres. They also host live painters and vendors to share their art and buy their art. Ive met some of the best of people there! Check it out if you are in need a release and have to dance your butt off.
This venue is easily in my top 3 venues for Denver. Easy entrance, plenty of bartenders to get quick drinks. Bathrooms are clean. Love love this place.
Cervantes is a magical lair of music, creativity and unity. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. As a colorado native, it is one of my top favorites places to see and feel music.
I traveled from out of state to see Louisiana own Dumpsterphunk: Ian Neville, Tony Hall, and more. At the open door-My first impressions were a sign is needed about ticket purchase should be made before entering the establishment and a sign pointing to their Box Office to purchase tickets. After returning with a ticket, security officers were respectful, through without being aggressive or invasive when checking bags, purses, coats, etc. before walking through the metal detector. Surprisingly, a Coat Check worker provided a kind greeting and offered to take my coat for free. I hesitated, but the work stated that their job was to be stationary with the coats during the whole event. The ballroom space was wide open with great acoustics from the stage and a spacious bar. The standing tables had areas to hang coats, purses, etc. and a few tables and a few chairs. The other side was a smaller area, security at the door, stage, bar, and a place for snacks: taquitos, burritos, chips, etc. The bartenders were friendly and a few humorous workers. People were friendly and kind. Pocket Protectors Band was worth listening and dancing to. Overall, I plan to see more events at the Cervantes in Denver, CO.
Not my first visit to Cervantes’ and definitely will not be my last! Such a personal venue that gets you right there with band! There’s two separate stages at Cervantes’, there’s the “ballroom” which is a larger capacity for the crowd and “other side” is a little smaller and very well set up! Would go to either stage at Cervantes’ for a good time.
Always a great time at this venue. I recommend getting there early to get a seat on the top row
Your basic bar club kind of vibe. Our food was brought in and was fine , pizza. Bartenders were nice. Security was pretty brusque but efficient.
This venue is a Denver treasure. Always a full calendar of a great mix of music, from local or area acts to national touring bands, with great multi-act events on a consistent basis. The staff, from the box office to the ticket/ID check at the door to the bartenders and the rest are consistently friendly, chill people. Ticket prices are very reasonable, always worth every penny for the entertainment they pack into any given event.Whether a show is the main Ballroom or on the Other Side (they can accommodate two different shows simultaneously, with a single door connecting the two in between) the sound system everywhere in the venue is first-rate -- very well engineered, delivering a rich, full spectrum sonic experience loud enough to feel and enjoy, but at just the right peak cutoff so as never to be ear splitting and in just the right configuration so it is never muted or muffled or partial.Whichever stage a band performs on (main room or other side) there is no bad seat anywhere in the house as far as sound quality goes. It sounds just as good all the way in the back of either room as it does right up in front of the band. Both spaces have one main bar readily accessible for drinks, with excellent staff who are on top of things such that ordering almost never involves lines or waiting. Prices are very reasonable too, for beer and liquor. As a bonus, at the back of the Other Side through a side door is an open air patio, seating and stage area where bands can play or where people can get some air, catch a smoke or just chill for a bit away from the main rooms. After almost 9 years going here, seeing other similarly sized venues in Denver that didnt last, Cervantes has not only lasteHerr, it has gotten even better. It is THE intimate venue for great music and after-show parties on a consistent basis, with zero hassles and a guaranteed good time.
Caught a show at The Other Side. Its a great intimate venue with a cool patio. Would recommend!
Loved this smaller venue! I loved there was a huge patio to get fresh air or cool off from dancing.
Loved my first experience at Cervantes Other Side last night! I especially enjoyed the patio!
This is such a fun place to attend concerts. It has its own style and atmosphere that just seems to inspire fun.
Saw Pharcyde and Souls of Mischief. Killer show. Sound was good. Like everywhere else in Denver, the place was too packed.
I’m a big live music fan and go to lots of shows in the Denver area. Many of my favorite bands play at Cervantes, so clearly they must treat the bands well. But lately I have been so disappointed by the oversold nature of popular shows at Cervantes. Absolutely packed, shoulder to shoulder, and uncomfortable. Makes it not fun. Would be surprised if it’s not a major safety concern. Please consider selling 10% fewer tickets!Going forward, I will wait until day of show to buy tickets, and if it’s sold out then great, I won’t go and didn’t waste my money on unenjoyable overcrowded experience.
Overall = small musty, dusty, gross space with unpleasant staff. Overpriced drinks, terrible security, and lack of management is the highlightOn numerous occasions management from my production company tried to reach out to them to book venues/ handle security/ and align set venues: the management there was “too busy” and “forgot to read their email.”We had to work with another venue because they failed to ensure minimum safety standards and continued to lack respect in regard to guests safety.Do not go to this venue. It is a serious safety hazard and risks personal well being.Do not perform for this venue. They might not even pay you and lack decent communication.
Had an event here for ISTE! Spacious rooms and great layout! Super fun
Cervantes is an excellent venue! The owners and staff are on top of their game. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I love the size of the venue as it provides a unique, intimate experience for those attending shows. During the pandemic, Cervantes has provided a safe, socially distanced option for seeing live music again. I will definitely make my way back to this venue and support the owners and staff any way I can. A big thank you to Josh, Duncan, and all staff members for making my first experience at Cervantes such an excellent one!
I love this venue! Great sound system, really friendly staff, reasonable ticket prices, good drink prices too, great airflow. Some venues get so stuffy when place is packed, but this place has ac or fans blasting from everywhere. Also didnt realize I had lost my ID when I got there but they allowed me to use My Colorado app and I got into the show using that, I was so thankful I didnt have to go all the way back home half hour Uber ride one way for another form of ID! Thank goodness for technology and great staff!
This was a very nice intimate venue. Waiting outside was not too bad, not a bad part of town like some people were saying, the entry was a little bit slow as they only had 1 person scanning tickets but we were in the front so it didnt affect us. The show was great, sound was fantastic, and it was a very fun night. Definitely will look forward to any shows at this venue, as it is very small, which I love, with a cool asthetic to it.
My absolute favorite music venue in the city for sure! Great staff! Always a good time!
One of my favorite venues in Denver. Just has that old school vibe and aesthetic with reasonable drink prices and quality shows pretty much every day of the week! Staff is always great all around
Lights were amazing, sound was very good. I always recommend hearing protection at venues like this. They used the reusable recyclable cup system, and had free coat check. I do believe its usually 21+, with an extra fee if youre under that.
Went to a show there about a week ago. It was great. Staff was amazing. The outdoor smoking area was so cool, I lost a bracelet, They called the next day and had found it. Very honest. I would go there to a show again.went and picked it up. They were so great! I would book a show
Pretty decent smaller venue with big name artist. Staff is nice. Bar is kind of small and nit enough bar staff for the amount of people so youll have to wait a bit for a drink. Definitely lots of security, most of which looked grimy like henchmen kind of feel like people would be safer without so many guards ready to pounce on whatever suspect they can. But nothing happened all was smooth and fun.
Swervs, as its lovingly referred to, is easily one of the top staples for the music scene in Denver. Partly because they reliably have shows all week and partly because of its unique layout that includes three stages divided into a the ball room and the other side. The other side added an outdoor stage in the courtyard several years ago and they occasionally have a band play there as well. Sometimes you can get dual concert tickets that allow you to hop back and forth between shows like a mini festival which makes it unique. The only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is how expensive the drinks have gotten lately.
Great sound and vibe! It got a little crowded, but the one room set up makes it very accessible.
Cervantes is one of (technically two of) my favorite venues! With both the Ballroom and Other Side, youre in for an intimate, engaging show - or two. Great lights & sound for the venue size and always fun crowds keep amazing bands coming back repeatedly. If you havent been, be sure to check it out!
Cerv’s is one of my favorite venues. It’s the perfect size, not too small but definitely a more intimate crowd. It’s always a good show & I love that there’s the option of balcony seating. Thursdays are always a good time too with the vendors & live painters! Ticket prices are always super reasonable & the sound system is really good. Almost positive it’s free coat check as well, which is sooo nice during winter!
Place has great sound and a decent amount of space. Excellent security as well, they dont tolerate any creeps and I appreciate that greatly. Excellent venue in Denver!
Great music venue. Best smoking patio with a stage in Denver! Two sides with separate shows almost every night of the week and sometimes its even dual venue! Every type of music show available. If you love music then you belong here, seriously. Text CERVANTES to 91944 for deals on entry :D
Poor communication from management. My company agreed to post advertisement for Cervantes and they failed to keep up on their end. There are better venues in Denver like The Black Box and even Larimer Lounge.
Great concert venue, first time attending a concert at Cervantes. We had a great experience
A favorite band of mine played there but the venue over sold to the point that I got anxiety (which I do not have) because they allowed twice the capacity as allowed. Please do not oversell and force music lovers to feel the need to leave an amazing show early.
Was at Shawn James last night. My only issue was they closed the upstairs so no one could sit, some of us old folks would rather not stand for a three hour show and my son has a back problem. There were some people sitting up there, maybe staff or people with the bands, not sure but there were like 30 seats up there no one was using and we werent allowed because it was closed
I absolutely love this venue!!! Thank you for hosting Daniel Donatos Cosmic Country for two incredible nights, and thank you for continuously hosting amazing bands!!!
Love dancing the night away at cerv. Very fun atmosphere with many a great show over the last 10 years. Love the disco ball. The balcony is great too but not sure why they advertise it like it’s better “seating” - went with a pregnant friend and in fact seating is limited first come first serve so expect to stand (which is totally cool for me i am there to dance but if you’re for not, know this). The sound is awesome. The musicians are always on point.Last time I was there the end of night staff was intensely projecting; i have empathy for them I’m sure it’s not easy but it was still disappointing the way they treated my 2 friends and me. So my room for improvement is to remind your closing staff to send us to the other side if you’re ready for us to go!
Pros: Convenient location, fast bartenders, efficient front door security to keep lines fast.Cons: Terrible sound and light production, tons of indoor smoking, weird bathroom location. While the staff is good, Im not sure if the venue or the act I saw did the show production, but it was really, really embarrassingly bad. Could barely hear the artists and music was burning out their speakers.
Cervantes is an absolutely amazing venue. They had an amazing show, and a super cool intermate venue. The second floor opened later on during the concert and that was great to go up and have a place to sit and get a larger view. The only unfortunate part is that they stopped at midnight which was a bit early, it does make sense with Covid but was still sad.
This place would get negative stars if it was possible. GREEDY OWNNERS! AND FIRE HAZARD AT EVERY SHOW AT THE OTHER SIDE! CERVANTES is ok. Thats why they got a Star. The other side however is ALWAYS over sold. Pass legal capacity on 3 different shows! This is not only dangerous but it makes it so you cant dance, you cant buy alcohol you cant even move! This use to be a Denver main stay, now thanks to the other side” its now a must avoid 😢
Great vibes and relaxed environment for great shows!
So super cool story, I bought a few tix in advance months ahead at the box office during the day and went one evening during which Sub.mission was meant to host a few of their labeled artists, so I was super stoked ya kno. Anyway, that particular evening they had to rearrange some stuff and ig the show wasn’t happening THAT night, or however it goes, I’m unsure as to the actual reason but I digress. When I went to the Other Side to try and utilize the paper one I’d gotten months prior, thinking it’s happening there, the security guard, an African American fellow, walked me back to the box office and talked to them and they allowed me in to the show they were hosting that night.! The band, and subsequent song I’d found through them, happens to be one of my favorite songs now, because my Uncle was a truck driver before he hurt his back, and I showed him that and it made him smile so, I appreciate you guys, y’all are pretty coo 🖤(p.s. my card was also refunded for the ticket😭
Never a bad night at Cervantes’. Very friendly staff, fair prices, good bookings.
This place has a really great vibe. It feels cozy but not overly packed out for a smaller venue. From security to bartenders, the staff are professional but super friendly. I can maybe think of 1 time in 50 overall where I didnt have a blast.
Attened the BLP Kosher concert at Cervantes. Had an absolute blast! The venue is very nice. Parking wasnt too awful. There were quite a few areas very close by that had lots of empty spaces. All of the staff were reasonably friendly. Nice little spot to enjoy some music and drinks!
Great Atmosphere and accessible location plus the best shows, will come back
One of my favorite venues in Denver. Consistently a great schedule. Free refills on soda for Designated drivers is pretty cool too.
Love this venue alot !!!! Been coming here for years and let me tell you . You will not be disappointed!!!
A raw musical venue that eeks echos of Denvers grungy past. This special place takes you back to a simpler time. The alcohol and sweat stained wood of the balcony reminds you of how long this place has stood, and reminds you to appreciate all that have come before you. This is a place of musical ritual. A sacred space for which humans do nothing but enjoy themselves. A place to pour your heart and soul into one unison act. Respect this place. Respect and remember all that have come before you. Feel the energy. Become part of the legend.
Great venue. Livingston blew the door off tonight!
Updated July 2024. Cervantes now chooses to CHARGE people for a reusable water cup, and wont even fill up the water on their own. They give you a cup to fill up at a water station. What a bunch of shills. Thanks for jumping on the trend to milk every dime out of every soul. One of my favorite venues in the city hands down. Often has two stages with varying genres of music. Affordable drinks. Friendly staff. Great talent. Coming from a native....this place is a Denver must.
The box office staff member was so nice, helpful, and friendly. Customer service such as this is a rare commodity these days. I hope I experience the same when I attend my first show there. Also, they have great box office hours making it possible to actually buy tickets there.
Cervantes is awesome! So many great shows! Vibe is always amazing.
So fun, so intimate, fast, and not rude bartenders with, dare I say, cheap, pricing. If you have a band or artist you love that is playing there, I suggest you buy them immediately. You wont regret it.
Always a good time! They put on good shows of all Genres.
Always nice folks working there, drinks are reasonably priced and have some snacks, love the vibe
The staff is great, from the door to the floor! Everybody was happy and genuinely helpful. They could use a bit more ventilation when it gets stuffy, but people get hot. Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey were unlike any concert Ive ever been to and I have a very broad taste. See them if you ever get the chance, I have no words, only the experience...
LOVE CERVS! Must go-to venue in Denver. Love you all!
Recently visited The Cervantes Ballroom for a concert and to my surprise the venue was spacious, and the security was top-notch. I felt safe and enjoyed myself.
Been going here for over 7 years and its still one of my favorite venues in town. Met so many friends here. The patio outside the other side is beautifully decorated and the mural is forever ingrained in my brain.
Money well spent God Bless the Grateful Dead. Them boys are worthy
Decent venue with decent sound quality. Glad they have lids for their cups now, safety was a concern for a bit. Wouldnt go here by myself, as a woman. But a great time with friends.
Cervantes is my home away from home.I practically lived here 4+ days a week a few years ago. The ballroom is amazing and easily sells out. The other side has better sound quality in my opinion. The shows are smaller and more personal. The art outback is gorgeous. If you ever get the chance, check out their silent discos outback.Shout out to everyone who has or currently works here. Every single one of you is amazing. I appreciate the parts you play in contributing to so many years of incredible memories, new friends and weirdos.
One of the best venues in Denver. In my experience the crowd here is always friendly are respectful. I show up for the bass djs but they book all kinds of great talent of other genres too! Sound quality is great 👌🏻
Great venue with fair pricing. When it’s sold out the place is not enjoyable to catch a show. Still love cervs though
Legendary bands, fast drinks, nice staff. Always a hoot
They dont take discover card. Otherwise super fun venue with great music. Not terribly over packed
Ive only been to one show here on the otherside but loved it. The venue is small and intimate and the sound is ok. Could be better, but pretty good for such a small strange layout for a venue. i was so happy they had a little food place in there!! Not to mention the food was delicious!!Drinks were reasonable.
Went to see the PROF concert, For a no drug policy, I was passed a joint several times. They oversold the tickets, was too crowded. Great Show though, Cold drinks and the bathrooms were alright
This is my favorite small venue. 500 people on the other side and 1000 on the normal side. I like the other side because its a lot more intimate. If you have a chance to see your favorite band here, do it.
The acoustics are amazing. Its so fun dancing on old wooden ballroom floors. Its also conveniently located near 715 for a pre concert drink or a post concert slice of pizza at Flying Js. Merigold recently opened as well if youre looking for a date night drink pre or post concert.
I love Cervantes, a great venue with lots of different bands coming through.
Only come here if you want to get roofied and then kicked out on the street without your coat because of it. Used to be my favorite venue in the state, now this place is in the toilet 👎
This place consistently brings in acts that I love so I wouldn’t give a bad rating but I paid for the VIP tickets last night and they ended up keeping most of the balcony closed and wasting tons of rail space. I had to go down into the main crowd anyway even tho I got there early. Go here but don’t waste your money on VIP tickets. Spend your money on drinks not the balcony
Great venue ~ easy to get around, friendly staff, little to no lines for drinks and you are not paying an arm and a leg for a beer. If you attend a show here, you wont be disappointed! Plenty of parking nearby and fun bars for dinner or a drink pre-show.
Super awesome bar, super awesome show, bummed Melvin seals didnt come out but Im sure there was a good reason! Hope hes okay. Would definitely vist this venue again. Kinda small, but such a cool atmosphere, not a large drink selection but honestly as long as theres good music a drink Is a drink. Bartenders were very friendly even security was friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
Cervs is truly a Denver staple and I’m so grateful we have such an amazing independent venue here. I can’t say enough the express how incredible the management and staff is. They truly care about the safety of each and every one of their patrons. I was expressing gratitude to one of their employees while I was there last night, specifically about how they provide lids for their cups in light of increase of people’s drinks being slipped with drugs at multiple Denver venues, and the employee said to me “I wake up every morning before coming to work a show and think about how this could be someone’s first show, last show, maybe a birthday or other celebration, and I want to ensure that every person who walks through the door is and feels safe to be here. This is our home and we are here to make sure our family enjoys themselves and feels safe to be here.” More venues need to follow suit. The next time you visit Cervantes, take a minute out of your night to thank the staff, tip your bartenders well, and express your gratitude to them. They care about us and they deserve to be recognized for it.
Great venue, in downtown Denver. Its small enough that you can actually see the artists and the lines for drinks are never too long. Do expect to pay concert prices for drinks however. Also they have an awesome outdoor area if you smoke and there are two stages for double the entertainment.
The place sounds great since they raised the ceiling and the disco ball is still the best one on this side of the Mississippi. This venue has a very special place in denver entertainment history definitely go check it out if you have the chance.
This is the first time Ive been back since the pandemic started and my oh myyy I missed this venue sooo much!!! We got a blast of good air conditioning in there which made everyone comfortable considering it was a sold out show for Collie Buddz. I dont recall them having AC in the past, but sooo happy they have it now! Always a good vibe at Cervantes. Please bring on more reggae & afro beat artists🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You guys HAVE TO fix the girls bathroom issues. Or make them both gender neutral. Its really not okay. Otherwise I love this community. The sound and production is amazing. No other complaints. Legendary. But please fix this. Cervantes over all other venues!!
So many talented artists pass through amd play here. Such an amazing venue with two different rooms to accommodate any size show. The staff are always really nice, and the place is wide open without of space. I really enjoy seeing shows here.
It was a cool venue, ample bar top space, neat upper balcony with seating and tables, and above all els at the height of the show, it wasnt that hot even with it wall to wall with spectators.
Not only did I have the best time of my life but TYLER saved my entire life by having my missing at the podium. Guest for life. Thank you I love you Cervantes.
