Lil Reds Longhorn Saloon in Fort Worth is a classic dive bar with genuine Texan charm. This honky-tonk offers live music that keeps the dance floor hopping and a friendly crowd that makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere is authentic, with a no-frills vibe thats perfect for a laid-back night out. While the drink selection is decent, the real draw is the lively, welcoming ambiance. For a taste of true Texas nightlife, Lil Reds Longhorn Saloon is a must-visit.
The best Historic bar and best staff in the Fort Worth Stockyards! Country music in an old school Saloon! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a night out dancing.
While visiting Fort Worth, we were passing by and decided to check this site. The people there were very friendly and the atmosphere was amazing!. The dancing door, the music was perfect. I felt transported to old west times. It was nice to see the people dancing.I also found the chairs at the bar very special. When you get there, you will see why.
A must see Honky TonkIf you’re down with Alan Jackson and George Straight then this is your place!Really nice place full of memorabilia everywhere you look. Great music playing at all times. Unfortunately they didn’t have anyone performing while I was there on Labor Day weekend 2021 but quite honestly it was such an amazing place and they were playing great music I didn’t mind one bit.Full bar service with great bartenders.I can’t wait to one day go back.
I shouldve read the reviews more closely. I had a friend from Cuba visiting and they refused to accept his out of country identification. The lady behind the bar looked at him with the most contemptuous look Ive ever seen on someones face saying he shouldnt even be in here. Needless to say we found another place who gladly served us and Ill make sure to warn people about this place if they have out of country guests.Edit: for the record Im not employed by a competitor but I did end up going to one after this poor experience. My extensive reviews speak for themselves. Maybe your guest has to be a shade of white to be treated appropriately here.
Went three weeks ago on Saturday was cheaper and friendlier place than billy bobs met two awesome women from waco area i dint get their info so guess ill have to keep drivydown from Oklahoma till i see them again wish you would open a place here
This establishment truly is a taste of Texas. From the barbecue, to the dancing and live music, and the larger than life personality and atmosphere of the restaurant as a whole, if you come here once, you want to come again. It truly is an unforgettable experience whether youre a repeat customer or youve never been before!
Always a great Western Swing band! So much fun whether you love to dance or watch some really good dancers. Amazing service, reasonable cover, always a great time! Chances are youll hang out with your favorite rodeo legends, too. This is where the real ones go, and if you know, you know!!
We loved the music and dancing. Friendly staff and people here.
All ways a good time here. The music will be country, and the adult beverages will be cold. A must stop if in the historical Fort Worth Stockyards. Maybe you be lucky enough to hear the proprietor sing, if he does Willie, close your eyes and youll think Willie is there singing. When Im in the area, this is where I hold court. If you wanna see me when Im in my hometown, this is where Im partying.
If you are looking for a Honky-tonk experience, this is the place to go. Friendly people, great music, and reasonable prices. Love this place. Cant wait to go back! And its a 6 hour drive for me...
It had been years since my husband and I were at the Stockyards at Ft Worth so we checked out several saloons looking for a place to dance. We happened by Lil Reds, saw a great crowd, heard the band and decided to go in to check it out. The band turned out to be the well known Johnny Bush! Great two steppin, very friendly people and cold beer! A great authentic place to dance and have a good time!
Felt so welcomed here by the locals, staff and owner. Went two nights in a row...the dance floor was made for two stepping....so smooth. Appreciate that no drinks are allowed on the dance floor. The bands were awesome. Drink prices incredibly reasonable. A true country honky tonk.
We happened on this place awhile back and had a blast. The crowd was older ( 50 to 60 ) . We are in our 50s so we fit right in. Everyone was really nice and they had a good band . Weldon Henson I think it was.
I loved seeing my music bud. Greg Gibbs show us his amazing talent! But when you drive 2 hours and youre thirsty, it would be nice if the smartmouth bartender/woman treated you with a little respect.
Always a great time! Bartenders are super nice too. We usually start here in the afternoon and make our way down further (or to billy bobs) later.
I see a lot of people leave because of the $20 cover charge on the weekends. But to me thats totally worth it, because the environment is so nice and it keeps out the drunken idiots who just want to party and be rowdy. This is our favorite place to go dancing. I also find that the drinks are really reasonably priced which is a nice benefit as well. The cover bands are always really great and occasionally they have excellent original bands as well. All in all I just love this place for numerous reasons.
Spent a lot of time here in the late 80s/early 90s. Other than it being a tad bigger and adding pool tables, Im pretty sure its still the same as it ever was. If you are looking for cold beer, great music, and friendly folks, this is your place. Its not the newest or trendiest, its just a real bar that comes by the title honestly.
Went there to sit at bar to have a drink, eat and watch college football. Way too ridiculously priced. We are from here so not going to pay inflated touristy prices. If youre from out of town and this is new experience for you then youll probably enjoy it
The only busy dancing bar in fort worth during weekdays. Weekends everywheres busy. Dont miss it. Talk to the lovely locals here and dance. Great bands on too.
Outstanding entertainment all weekend. Excellent ambiance. Covet charge very reasonably priced. Super fun. Looking forward to my next trip.
Absolutely disrespectful and mildly racist. Refused entry to myself and my friends and claimed it was the dress code due to some of us wearing shorts. Meanwhile other people (white males) in shorts entered without any questions. Seemed anti military and mildly racist at the door.
Best brisket sandwich Ive ever had in my life! And I grew up in Texas so Ive tried dozens of other bbq recipes. Staff is very friendly, fast and helpful. Theyve got a system that makes the wait line fast, efficient and we get to watch and smell them cook the big slabs of meat in the fire pit while waiting. Love the theme of the dining room... taxidermy includes a big black bear. Super cool! Entire place was clean and immaculate.
Friendliest people, best dance floor
This place was so awesome!! We met an amazing bartender Mekenzie. The atmosphere was super chill and the drinks were perfect. We will absolutely be back!!
This place was so fun! Our bartenders were great! We got there Friday afternoon, spent the day chatting with Dakota. We decided to come back the next day for the live music! It was great, service was great, and we tried some of the food! They rent out the kitchen, which is a great concept, so the customer goes up to a window to order. It was very tasty bar food, most things were reasonably priced. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anymore who would like to have a great time!
The place is big and has great setup for live music. The band playing when we were there was very talented but played lame songs. Most the people there were over 65. Restroom was nasty. In spite of that, I really liked the bar. Coolest barstools too.
This place was jumping. Bartenders were great.
Loved this place! Hadnt been here before but came to see Dale Watson. This is his kind of place - authentic Texas dance hall/ honky tonk. Big dance floor, great bartenders, real country music, i.e. Bob Wills, Johnnie Bush, etc. Friendly crowd in, ahem, my age range. Ft. Worth has it all over Dallas. Get on your boots and hat and get over here.
Great place to dance.
Great dance floor and music.
A night to remember! So much ambiance and great music! Dance floor needs a little work. Ready to go again.
My favorite place in the Stockyards. The live music is great and the dance floor is nice. The historic look and feel are well-maintained in the tin ceilings and wooden floors. If you are extra lucky, Craig might just get up and sing with the band :)
Asked for a ‘glass of water’ after buying 3 drinks. They literally refused. Bartender said they aren’t allowed to give cups of water — only sell $3 bottles of water.Pretty pathetic, and unsafe, quite honestly.Never seen that in my life.
Loved everything about this unassuming bar/ dance hall EXCEPT the 90 minute wait for a burger and fries. It was not full when we got there at 1pm and no comment about any kind of wait or back log when we ordered our food. Extra star deduction for having to go to the food window to ask 3 times for an eta.
I love this place. True Western Music is played her. Very friendly staff. You will have a great time there. And dont forget the Calf Fries, theyre the best in the Stockyards.
Its always a fun place to hang out and the music is the best in town. That was one great benefit today..raised more money than Ive ever seen at an auction! Rodeo families are always there to help and thats a. Awesome experience feeling.
Had a great time. There is an older crowd who go here but they are a great crowd to be around. The band that was here on the night that I was there was the raised right boys. They played old country and even had a steal guitar. It was a great night
It was early when I stopped in. It was quiet that day. Met up with a college friend hadnt seen in 40 years. Service was great. Would go back.
We went last night for the first time! We had a blast! We will be back! Only draw back was that it was extremely HOT! And Smokey, dont like cigarettes. But other than that, loved it! Loved the older music and older crowd! We had no idea it was their Anniversary, awesome Music! Daryl Singletary was off the chain. Yall come on out.
Busy on weekends. Need reservations. Friendly staff. Good dance floor. Tony Booth always draws a good crowd. Crappy tequila. Slim parking. Security at door til close.
My ALL TIME FAVORITE Juke Joint in CowTown USA, NORTHSIDE AMERICA! Longhorn has the best dancehall music in town! Stop in and sit on the world famous barstools while your at it! You wont be disappointed in a having a good time!!!!
Best Honky Tonk Ive ever been to
Favorite saloon in Ft. Worth. Live band is always great. Energetic atmosphere. Great dance floor.
Great live music. Great dance floor. Nice staff and friendly, welcoming patrons. No riff raff. Definitely a great place to go see live music and do some dancing.
Walked in to grab a bite to eat and dance the night away. But was denied. All tables were reserved and there wasn’t one free table to sit at. And the place was half empty. We live local and wanted to try some local places but this is one we can not recommend.
Not much for bars. However my brother in law said we needed to go. Loved the band and the music was not ear piercing. Had a great time. Food was great. Will go back soon.
Great music, friendly folks, cold beer! Well worth the cover!
It was great! Honky Tonk music..band Landon Dodd...then storm came in and the electricity went out. . but Fort worth needed the rain..❤️
Excellent music and good service
Good place, good music, the people in the kitchen need to get off their phones. I stood at the counter on Saturday for minutes before I just went back to my drink. This was both the lady and the cook.
Old honky tonk and true texan culture from the regulars who love to dance. Bring respect and a good time. These cats are old school. Kindness not to be confused with not having true grit.
My wife and I have been here many times and had a great time however we were there Wednesday September 29th not many people were there which was good better dancing less crowded,Landon Dodd was there enough he was the sorriest band talked in between songs forever to his band everyone just got off the dance floor very disrespectful to the people that were there and then forgetting words to songs we wont be back if he is there ever and will tell everyone not to go when he is there.
So much fun. Nice dance floor and atmosphere.. worth the drive from Austin!
If you want to learn how to country dance come here on Wednesdays and get ready for some fun. Great place for bringing people that want an authentic Texas vibe.
What a great place. The drinks are cold, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is fun, and the music is top notch!
Loved it was a great friendly place, Staff was on the ball!, the only thing there are no tables to set at they are all reserved. But dont let that stop you!!! You can always set at the bar ...in the cow girl daisy duke chairs lol.
Of all the Drug Store Cowboy joints in the Fort Worth Stockyards the Longhorn is my favorite. The Longhorn to me is the only bar that comes anywhere close to representing what the Stockyards once were.... The others from Rodeo Exchange to Cadillac are just beer joints for local older want to be Cowboys and Cowgirls looking for love in all the wrong places!
Great rustic saloon experience . Had a great time watching a TCU game and getting on the dance floor during halftime .
Great Entertainment and Service. Real Hardcore Cowboy Saloon ran by a Real Cowboy Businessman and Real Cowboy Clientele With a great tourist friendly experienced staff. A Cowboy Party Palace salloon. Take it from a Professional Rodeo Clown and Bullfighter its a must stop in Cowtown.
Awesome bartenders! Took care of us when we were having a boys day. We weren’t the easiest to handle. Thank y’all gals! Top notch
Saw the Andy Thomas and Out of the Blue Band and will definitely come back if they show up again!
$15 dollars for cover. Was a charity event though...local beer was $5 (no custom brews or draft beer).Unless you really have to see the stockyards....I would have preferred something else.
Great place for the old school cowboy feel. Great staff
Old fashion, fun saloon
Great place. Great country music . Its truly a cant miss place to visit while youre at the Stockyards in Fort Worth.
Had the honor of meeting Lil Red and his friendly staff, they went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed.
Authentic old west type club. Great staff. Weird bathrooms. Good dance floor. Old fashioned country music.
Great place to country dance and have an amazing time.
This place is super chill. Excellent staff and good vibes
Employees dont greet and all have frowns during the day. Must be the B team??Had to change from 2 stars to 1. Watched both employees smoking behind the bar then grab some limes for someones beers. Ahh!
Atmosphere was phenomenal. Laid back and relaxed. Felt right at home. Had a great time.
Everything was absolutely awesome. The dance floor is a bit small and the prices are a bit high, but overall, this place is great.
This is where i met the love of my life. We come back every chance we get. Love the music and a great place to dance
Great place to hang out! A variety of drinks and close to other bars, shopping and good eating!!
Fun times. Fun friends. Good music, Midtown Playboys! This night, bar service wasnt very good. , but not always that way.
Was overcharged on top of that I put my card up and asked for them to close two or three times they were allowing my guest to order more... Not a classy place.
Best bartenders ever !!!!! U will not find any better anywhere . Music is awesome . The atmosphere is absolutely fabulous .
Think this place is better at night, and if its hoppin. That it is not in Tuesday afternoon, and the service was not much to talk about either. Sorta makes you wonder why theyre even open at that time.
Fun small country bar. Great bartenders. They made a yankee feel welcome. I cant wait to go back.
Lil Reds Longhorn is a fantastic place to meet your friends for a night of dancing and fun. The best music in town!
Wonderful place. Everyone so nice and friendly. My friend Jackie takes me there. Music great!!
A Ft Worth Cowtown legend, a must stop by if ever in the North Side of Ft Worth. You cam almost hear the ghosts of cowboys past as you order your ice cold bottled Budweiser.
Kelly Spinks and the Miles of Texas Band make for a great evening on music and dance!! Cmon out share a beer, a danceand have a ball!!!
Had a first day with a beautiful woman here last weekend. Everybody going down and see Bethany Tell her I sent you
Great time, best music in Ft. Worth and the friendless in town.
Went there 10/12/17 and was told that Daryl Singletary. Cover charge on 10/13/17 would be $10. Was not too happy when I arrived and the cover was $20.
The place to be on Saturdays from 2-6. Randy Tataravich Band live, great friends and atmosphere.
We had a great time here! Despite being super busy we were well taken care of and didn’t wait for drinks nearly as long as we expected.
Great place to dance.Good music.. Manager is awesome. I reccomend.
Had an awesome time watching Dale Watson and his Lonestars! Staff was great and very attentive!! We will be back in the future!!! 😁
Great service and a big dance floor. Beers always cold. Cool bar stools.
Real Honky Tonk feel. Kind of ridiculous that a small cup of Dr Pepper is as much as a domestic beer.
Great place, Good music and friendly people.
Good little bar even had live music on a Wednesday night
We enjoyed the atmosphere and met Red. The live music was great to dance and listen to.
Had a wonderful evening with Craig and Jane at Little Reds last night.meet some wonderful people and the band was awesome.
