I enjoyed time we have spent in Marquis theatre on one of the events. Sound is amazing. Staff is respectful. Lights are great. You do not need anything else to enjoy time in there. Nice small bar and stage. This is nice small theatre. There is plenty of parking lots around the theatre so you wouldn’t have a problem to park in the area. When we have been there, at the same time with our event there is a Rockies game was nearby in a Ball Arena, and yet, we had a chance to find parking spot just couple blocks away from theatre.
Went here for a concert with my sister. The bartenders didn’t seem like they wanted to be bothered although they didn’t appear busy with two customers (maybe they had a long day, hard to judge) but overall everyone was nice and a super chill vibe. The pizza and their cook was super nice and a great vibe. Really enjoyed the concert. The place was clean and organized; so were the bathrooms! That’s a win for me!
Show up early if you want seat! They got pizza and food, drinks there. I believe the bar is completely cashless meaning you will need a card if you desire drinks. I think you can use whatever at the pizza place. Medium to smallish venue. Great for any type of a band. That likes that up close energy from the crowds.
Came here for the first time to see Angel Du$t and Bib. I was blown away. Coming from Las Vegas where the venues have always been far and few between, having places to see shows like this are awesome. Not only is the venue awesome, sound is great, parking behind the venue as well (only $10), and the pizza is incredible as well as being the biggest slice imaginable. Can’t wait to come back
This venue is pretty cool. Tickets generally aren’t too expensive and a lot of sick band play here. I especially love that there is a pizza place inside with drinks that are reasonably priced. I have to give 4 starts because the sound quality in this venue is one of the worst I’ve heard. I’ve seen a few bands here and each time it’s been a very subpar sound experience. I think it’s a combination of speakers and the room being a very weird shape. Hopefully they can improve on it.
Tried to call, they never answered. I Ordered on Door Dash instead. The counter boy gave me the wrong pizza. I paid for a $26 pizza, he gave me a $18 pizza and attempted to keep the difference. He refused to correct my order, used curse words towards me and blamed me for having the wrong pizza. Customer service is zero at this location
Good bands but I hate this place. Getting in is like boarding an airplane(id, passes, metal detector and all!), its cramped, has cashless bar and no re-entry after you leave. They did have pizza, though. Pricey but it looked like its own popcorn stand sized pizzaria.
Brought a small point and shoot camera and was turned away after riding the train downtown for a show. The website wording made it seem like this wouldn’t be an issue. Will think twice before spending my money in the future as I’m missing a show that was pretty important to me.
Accessible! Affordable! Amazing!Came yesterday to see the Addison Grace and Madds Buckley concert! I have balance and tendon issues with my leg so I have to bring my cane to places where I am to be standing a long time or in place often. From the get go every single staff member was polite, helpful and kind, I was immediately offered assistance in finding seating for the show by the woman manning the ticket check in, and there were ramps to every area of the venue. My phone had an issue pulling up the tickets but the person at the box was incredibly helpful in getting me connected to their wifi so I could sign in and retrieve my tickets in the Ticketmaster app. The bartender offered to help me take mine and my sisters drinks back to where we were sitting. The person in charge of the merch table was quick, understanding, personable, and didn’t make me feel rushed while I was picking out my merchandise. The food is also amazing, top tier pizza and the cinnamon icing knots were delicious and just the right amount of sweet.
Great place to see a show but the bartenders act like it’s a burden to serve non alcoholic drinks. They actually screamed “hot dogs…peanuts” like my soda was a problem for him to get. My tip should be shoved up his….
First time visiting this venue, and it rocked! Great sound, great drinks, and the staff was shockingly nice and seemed to care about the experience of the people. Would definitely love to attend more concerts here.
Pizza to go was alright and convenient as I got in to denver around 9pm. It was takeout only, which was fine for me at the hostel down the street
The Marquis theatre is a must-attend venue in Denver, Colorado. The sound quality is phenomenal and the connection between the audience and artist is always very intimate thanks to the lack of a barricade and the smaller size of the venue. They also have a built-in pizza place for you to enjoy right after the show! This venue is comfortable, inviting, and an all around pleasant experience to say the least. The staff has always been pleasant to talk to and security does their job well. All the concerts that I have attended at the Marquis have ended up being some of my favorites.
Hands down the best Pizza in Colorado. $20 for a large cheese pizza that is a true New York style thin crispy delicious as it comes. My absolute favorite.
It blows my mind that the Marquis charges the same for bigger shows that real music venues like the Gothic and Fillmore charge normally, especially when the sound system and scene are so poor. Unless theres a band youre truly passionate about, you can have better live music experiences at better venues just by paying a $5-$15 cover charge at pretty much any bar on Larimer. Even if you are passionate about an act booked here, it might be depressing to pay $13 a Modelo and see them performing at a lesser venue than the random local bands across the street.
Cozy venue. Tiny stage. Good for smaller, up and coming bands and locals. Not a lot of air flow. Got quite hot in there and no fans or AC were blowing. Not sure what happened the other night when I saw Adelitas Way. There were supposed to be 3 openers before them for a 7p show. NOTHING started until 8:40 and it just started. No intro, no announcement, a band just started playing. Only 2 of the bands scheduled played before AW. One didnt even really have a band, just two guys and a laptop as their musicians. Sound system was sub-standard, either the equipment or operator error. Everybody had trouble getting their sounds right and nobody but AW appeared to actually sing. The two before lip synced and that really took away from the performance and who they really could have been as musicians.I loved AW and was thrilled for the inexpensive GA ticket to get right up to the stage and lean on the speaker all night. Having those guys right there in my face with their music throbbing and blasting against me was phenomenal!! I got to stare at their sexy guitarist Tavis all night. Rick was looking right at me and the people behind me and it was like he sang just for us.No drama or drunk people getting kicked out that I saw. No one was rushing the stage and running over people to get closer. Everybody seemed to be cool and having a good time. I would go back.
I visited the Marquis for the first time last week. Its a great, intimate venue. I saw a sold out show, but there was still room to move around without feeling packed in. There were quite a few seating options available as well, which I appreciate in a music venue. I didnt try the pizza, but it looked and smelled delicious!
I love a small venue, especially ones with a great view of the stage from any spot. Great sound, too!
Horrible I mean absolutely horrible experience me and my girlfriend came from texas to vist her parents and 2 weeks in we saw one of our favorite bands playing at this theater. To shorten the story up we arrived and my brother in law ( who was 21 ) went to the bar and grabbed a drink . As he was sipping down the cup he had to go pee and asked his sister (my girlfriend) to hold it for him who is (20) while he went the rest room and as soon as she held it 3 seconds later some rude and when I mean RUDE I mean absolutely horrible attitude fromThis lady who I believe is the manager came behind her grabbed the cup and her arm telling her to leave casue she was holding it. No explaination , No questions, No nothing. Paid 135$ dollars for nothing HORRIBLE FIRST CONCERT EXPERIENCE.
Great venue with the added bonus of being a delicious pizza place! Very clean and great staff. Made for a great concert!Needed Covid vaccine cards or a 72 hours negative test to get in, but if youre going to a concert to be in everyone elses space thats the kind of assurance you want.Massive pizzas slices that take up 3 paper plates and a great intimate musical experience? Yes. Please! In a heartbeat! Looking forward to going back and highly recommend.
The venue itself is pretty good but I really dont like that they make me take my pepper spray off when I come in :(
Here for NYE with Laura Jane Grace. Great night and a great venue. Beers are a bit spenny but not compared to some of the other venues around Denver. Bar staff is super friendly and add to the good atmosphere.
This place hosts some pretty amazing concerts. A lot of smaller bands end up here, ones you don’t get to see very often. The place gets pretty busy, but the merch line is always pretty fast, and the bathrooms are usually pretty empty surprisingly. The place is pretty clean, some sticky floors, some trash left in odd places, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Been coming here since I was a teenager for shows and love the intimacy of the venue. The sound is always spot on whether the band is extremely loud or not, I have not heard any bad issues before. Lots of incredible bands have played here, their posters are plastered in the lobby and are cool to check out. The bar has a little better than dive bar variety drinks, and they aren’t a huge ripoff like some venues. The bartenders are always chill even when they’re swamped. The staff is great at spotting issues like people who need to leave, or people who need help. Bathrooms are always clean. I have 0 complaints about this location. Check it out if you can.Oh! Almost forgot! They have absolutely phenomenal NY style pizza. Some people come just for that. Get you a slice!
This is a nice place to watch a show. There is standing room in front and tables towards the back. They have a full bar with several beers on tap. Grab a slice of pizza from up front. Its actually good! The stage is pretty small and off to the corner. There are stairs in some places that are very hard to see and easy to trip/fall on, even when you know they are there. Bathrooms were nice and clean.A complaint we had is we asked if there was re-entry prior to going into the venue. We were told there was re-entry. We went inside, walked around a bit, and then decide to leave, because it was about two hours until the band we wanted to see. Thankfully we double checked prior to exiting and were told there is no re-entry. We came from another state for the show, so it would have been terrible had we left. It sounds like there was a recent policy change about re-entry, but seems like something all staff should know.
Concert was great, sound system was great. The bar lacked options but the people that work there are really nice..for the most part. The event center bar and bathroom were all clean and nice BUT figure out your ride before your event is over cuz they kick you out and that block is super busy.
Every club in Denver is better than this one. I’ve never met more rude and arrogant staff.
An excellent venue experience! It was mostly standing room, so go in expecting that. The pizza is amazing and I highly recommend it. It surprised me!
The vegan pizza is great.getting them on the phone isnt. Also being in line and they tell you when you get to the door that theyre closed and its 642 pm or something.Basically this is good pizza (only tried with vegan cheese). Great price, especially for the huge sizes. But unreliable when you dont know if theyre open and drive to them trying to call and no one picks up.
Pizza is top notch, dive bar vibes, perfect venue size
We saw TENDER at Marquis. It is a larger venue than Larimer Lounge, so it seemed like a better experience at first. But of course the drunken crowd is the same everywhere, so be prepared for some shouldering and annoying characters. Overall, it was a good time and the sound was good, except perhaps the bass was so powerful the floor was vibrating. But maybe some people like that 😁
It was a nice-sized the venue. The sound quality was great for the acts that I saw. There were bar stools available, which was very helpful at my age, 4 hours is a long time to stand.I look forward to returning.
Intimate venue that has amazing shows. Definitely want to come back!
Advice: Assess the space look especially along the bar--its a passageway. I was standing next to the bar just turned around after purchasing a cocktail.First time there. Small space. Narrow walk throughs. Staff member slammed into me to get by as I was moving for him to pass by pushing me into some strangers. He kept walking without any courtesy. Approached him later, and he quickly avoided me.The performers were excellent.
One of my favorite concerts I’ve ever been to but definitely in spite of the venue. Tons of people crammed into a pizza restaurant with a stage that about half the guests can see. There’s a pole in the middle that blocks the center of the stage for the guests in the back. If you’re lucky and have a strong bladder you can eventually make it close enough to see. Poor Meg Myers put on an amazing show but had no help from the sound engineers. She battled through it and put on an amazing performance, considering. If you’re an artist, there are better venues in Denver.
My first time there was to see mareaux and it was really nice! Everything sounded good, the vibe was great, and the food prices are super reasonable. Our bartender was pretty rude and was making comments to himself over people deciding what to get and even kinda yelled you guys have to talk to me, not just stand therelike immediately after some people walked up, and right after he rushed us to order. Other than that though it was a really awesome time
Be aware of the deceitful practice at the bar in the theater. I was there on Friday, September 22, 2023, for an event. The bartender swiped my card without giving me the option to choose my tip amount. When I looked at the transaction later, I was getting charged a lot more for the exact same drinks compared to when I was given the opportunity to choose my tip. The only explanation is the bartender was choosing my tip amount without my consent. This practice must stop.
Staff were super friendly, and i liked the setup for a concert setting! A lot of room in a small space, which was nice!
Uhm Im at a metal show and theyre playing country music over band switch. Metalheads dont like country music. Who organizes this.
Great little venue. The mix was excellent, could hear everything real clearly. Plus, they sell pizza...whats not to like.
You will never find a more intimate venue in all of Colorado to see some of your favorite high-profile bands when they come to Denver! And the fact that you can have PIZZA before, during, or after youre on the dance floor?! Come ON, people! What else could a music fan want?! Great drinks and friendly staff? Well, youre in luck! The Marquis has got you covered there as well!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🫸
We went to see/listen to Silvana Estrada at the Marquis…first time at this theater. The people at the door were friendly and welcoming. The drinks were cold and refreshing on a very hot summer night. The ventilation was great…and we were kept cool the entire concert. Silvana was amazing, too!
Stage lighting isnt the greatest but the atmosphere and staff is awesome
This is a great small venue. The sound is surprisingly good. They have a pizza joint attached to the venue and the pizza is good. The bartenders are very attentive.
Great venue. Our crew was there for a show and the staff are all friendly and helpful, we felt safe and things were clean.Special shout out to Julie, she literally made everyones day so much better by being so fun and helpful.
Cool intimate venue, to get close to the artists. However very few chairs, which arent comfortable, so mostly standing. Great pizza too!
Ehh, its a pretty bad venue. Their sound system absolutely blows. Theyve got zero mids and guitars come out like whispers. Im sure its cool to party and get messed up here, but dont go to actually listen to music.
This is a great venue to see music at! Theres not only places to stand and listen to music and dance but there is also plenty of spaces to sit if you arrive early. This venue has a bar and is attached the Marquis Pizza which has some of the best pizza Ive tasted here in Colorado! Absolutely loved attending the Mosaic concert there on the 24th and hopefully well get to go back again to see another great artist!
This theater is a gem. Attended my first event there recently, and just loved it. The vibe was hip and urban. Inside was a killer bar and pizza. Get the pizza!
Great pizza, great venue. Reasonable prices and good staff. Ive seen many awesome bands here and will continue to do so for years Im sure!
Awesome place for a show. Got to see Tiger’s Jaw on short notice. They had some beers that were on sale for a good price but everything else was priced for what you’d expect at a concert. The security staff and general staff were incredibly kind and helpful.
Honestly, one of the most intimate concert venues Ive been to. The stage and the pit concert-goers are right in front of one another. About 10 or so tables with chairs around so get there early if you want to sit. Sound was on point, and the pizza is bigger than your face. A must see in Denver FOR SURE. Oh, and the bands van parks right out front. Has all of the ingredients for a night out to remember for years to come!
Dont go if you get hot too easily.Really could use better ventilation. We had to stand clear in the back and entirely missed the show.At least the drinks were strong. 😂
This venue may be my favorite of all I have visited. It is very small and low-key for how many big names grace the stage. The acoustics were good, the pizza spectacular. Only mild complaint I noticed was the lights were going wonky during the show I saw there, they expressed technical difficulties though so wasnt much of a deal.
Love the sound and size of the venue. They have reasonably priced drinks and its home of the marquis pizza which is sooo good!
Awesome pizza, great drinks, fantastic sound system. Was here for Saturnalia and it was incredible
Sound at this venue is awful. Too bad since a lot of bands I like play here.. there’s no depth to the sound here just loud noise. It’s very noticeable how far this venue lacks in sound performance when going to other nearby venues for shows.
N8 No face show was great. Watch out for bartenders. I was charged 3 times for one purchase of water. Pizza was good. Bartenders are shady
My husband and I were in Denver for the Stadium Tour and the opening band was also playing at the Marquis the next night so we decided to check it out. Its a great place to have a drink and listen to a live band! We had a great time.
One of the coolest venues in Denver. Seen some really rad acts here, some that i remember more than others (because of totally legal reasons) .Awesome pizza with vegan options. By far the best vegan pizza in town.Highly suggest that you take a trip down here and catch a show when the world gets back to normal.Everybody is usually super cool and nice here.Really appreciate their establishment.
This was such a cool place to go! Me and my friends went to go see a concert and it was almost life changing, and the venue had a bunch to do with it. Its very urban, definitely a middle of the city vibe. They have a pizza shop connected and a fully stocked bar. The seating for the concert was very cool also, it was mostly standing but they had raised areas with seating. Very very cool.
This is such a great venue! Theres ample room to see the stage and the raised bar seating in the back is fantastic. The bathroom was super clean and the bar tender was quick and didnt even blink at my odd request for just a couple ice cubes in my drink. Cant wait to see my next concert here!
Honestly, The Marquis is an old favorite. Born and raised in Denver, I’ve been coming for years. Ryan at the front door on the Flatliners night (March 2023) was professional, attentive, helpful. I bring my friends, never afraid, punk rock forever. The Marquis is a fantastic venue with old memories and hopefully lots and lots of new memories. See ya next time, guys and gals!
This is a cool place. Staff are friendly and the venue was very well laid out.I would add the restrooms were very clean and plenty big for the crowd there for the show. 👍
This is a small venue with a stage oddly placed in one corner, but it works really well. The staff are always very nice and they have a really great drink selection at the bar. If youre looking for huge slices of great pizza, they have you covered as well. The Marquis brings in shows of all genres and sizes and the sound is decent given the smaller size.
If you’ve always wanted to experience what it’s like to see your favorite band perform inside of an actual pizza oven, then you’re in luck! This is the place. They have the venue preheated to a scorching 425° as you enter the building and all of the surfaces are coated in a fine layer of grease and flour. And those smells... Definitely an experience you won’t forget!
Awesome venue, with the best pizza!! I LOVE their vegan pizza!! Been seeing shows here for over 10 years, and always a cool place to hang out and see a set. I sometimes just stop for the rad pizza, while hanging out downtown.
A nice small venue. Sound is slightly distorted, and the mids and highs range of sound get a tad drowned out, but the bass is CRAZY! Overall not a bad place to see a band you like because of the small size, youll be close!
The building and facility is nice and new, they have a nice two level set up going on so if you prefer to stand in the back you can still see whats going on on stage. I know the concert audio tech has a lot to do with how a band sounds and fills a space but to me the sound quality at this venue is always sub par. There are other small venues in Denver that are better and I dont think I would come back here.
Always a great place to see live music. Must eat try the pizza while there!
Great pizza. Huge slices...New York crispy thin crust. The guys working are super professional and pleasant even dealing with late night crowd. Great price for the size.
Came here to see Craig Owens. Last time I was here it was amazing but the sound/audio guys blew it big time this time around. Audio was good for the opening acts but absolutely botched and awful for Craig. He essentially ragequit and finished the show early due to how bad the audio issues were. Super unfortunate. Looks like a recurring issue with other reviews i’m seeing too. Time for a new team guys.
I recent moved out here and now that shows are happening again Ive been able to venture out to the smaller venues in Denver. The Marquis Theater has been by far my favorite so far. The Security and Ticket Handlers were AWESOME and super helpful as well as the Bar Tenders. Overall really good people that made me feel at home as I did back East at these smaller spots. I went for the Pacific Dub show so whoever was working that night needs a raise, bonus, or a beer Ha! Thanks so much for a great experience !!!! Cant wait to come back for a completely different, and I learned more typical show. Metal Darkest Hour 🤘
Pretty small venue, which was good for ticket prices. Lighting inside makes it hard to see where youre going as I saw many people stumble down the 3 steps on the right side. Pizza was decent! Sound was a little off but I think that was due to the mediocre acoustics of the venue.
Grease pizza but great taste
This place is actually decent. Its a bit smaller then most venues but you get a up close feel when you go to a concert here. The pizza is good and there is actually bar stools and tables away from the stage.
The Marquis theater was an amazingly intimate place to go see a show at. Not super big, but big enough for a couple hundred maybe. they had a really good selection of beers, I didnt try any of their Pizza they had out front but it smelled really really good. 100% I would come back here again for a show, or even to just hang out and get some pizza and beer.
Not a very good venue. The set up is super weird. There are steps in the dance area that don’t have any lights (I trip on them every single time I go there). There’s no smoking area and you can’t leave and re-enter the venue if you’re under 21, so that sucks. The bar staff was friendly, but the people working the pizza stand we’re very rude. It was like they were angry at me for buying pizza. My biggest issue: they don’t have ANY security guards watching the mosh pit! If you’re going to book bands that have a mosh then you have to have security guards! When I saw Reno Drive here, I watched 2 separate women get plowed down by huge guys who were obviously off their face on drugs. You have to have people to guard against that. I like to thrash around as much as the next guy, but I also like feeling moderately safe.
Great intimate mid-size club venue for seeing bands on the rise. Plenty of space on multiple tiers so its easy to get a good view. Surprising amount of seating and table/bar space. Bartenders are friendly. And of course, the pizza. Favorite venue in Denver.
Awesome venue, friendly staff. One particular bartender is a bit cocky and I could do without his condescending attitude but, everyone else is great!
One of the better smaller venues in Denver. Perfect location, parking is simple, staff is always great, and the sound is good!
Ive always loved and still love this venue, but their rules around COVID tests and vaccination requirements dont make sense right now. They accept rapid test results but wont accept an at home test even if you do it in front of them. Neither the rapid or at home tests are accurate, so it doesnt make sense that theyll accept one but not the other. So just be sure to have a test or be fully vaccinated with proof the day before a show. Rapid tests are not available anywhere near the venue by the time doors open.I do have a few tips for security and other staff. Please please get walkies or something similar when checking for test results and proof of vaccination. I watched a group of teens sneak in their friend after she was told she wouldnt be allowed in due to a lack of recent test results. It was way too easy for them to get in, while others were stuck outside for the entirety of the event. This is still new, so theres still time for improvements.Overall, this is a great venue with great food, but there are improvements that need to be made.
Saw my first concert here in 2005 and have seen many since. The pizza is a nice treat before the show, the bar is always responsive, and the intimacy of the venue is incredible. I wouldnt want to see certain bands here, yet the setting is perfect for others. My only downside is the stairs in between leveled sections. I personally saw 4 people fall during the most recent show. Ramps instead of stairs would be a much safer alternative.
My friends and I have been coming here for 4 years for concerts, and we absolutely love it! It’s an incredible place to come and they somehow always have some of the best bands playing here. If I wasn’t always here for concerts, I’d probably be willing to make the trek for the Pizza alone.
Fun location for concerts! Enjoyed the medium size area because the concert was still intimate but there was plenty of room to dance! I will be going out of my way to return here in the future. Highly recommended to attend your favorite band here. The sound was great!
Overall great venue. Love it every time
This is a very small venue quite intimate. I thought the sound system was good. No air conditioning but industrial fans moved the air around well enough. There are stools to sit on towards the back. Otherwise excellent and close to the stage on the floor. Parking wasnt too bad prices vary wildly from lot to lot. Drinks about as much as everywhere ( expensive) Overall much better than I expected.
Great local venue! Ive seen many shows here and always enjoy it. Good sound. Bar has decent prices. Pizza is good and really well priced, $4 for a huge slice of pepperoni or cheese
Good venue, good pizza and Nathan the bartender is a cool, down to earth guy, good stuff!
Perfect venue for viewing intimate shows! My friends and I saw The Marias earlier this year and the venue helped make the show memorable. The open general admission ticketing makes it easy to get close to the stage, or sit on the high top stools near the back. The bar tenders were super fast and this place is connected to a pizza joint. Now, you can enjoy a show, grab a slice, and a drink all in one.
Cool spot to go , live music. However, age restriction is 18 for those who want an older crowd probably will be disappointed here but in the front their is awesome pizza 🍕!
I have been going here since I was a teenager and it always has the best memories. Intimate close up concert experience, no drama. Also, its got a delicious pizza joint attached to it!
Always a fun little venue with fire pizza by the slice. More of an intimate venue compared to others like the Fillmore and Ogden
Literally one of the coolest venues Ive been too. The flow of the building is great, plenty of space to sit and to dance without being suffocated. Also the pizza restaurant attached is awesome.
Great little venue! Decent sight lines in most places. And there’s great pizza!
The audio was really bad when I went, two artist vocals were completely inaudible, and the main shows was very very hard to hear in the front half of the room. Tye venue was also extremely hot, and extremely small, foot traffic was terrible to get through and was no regulated at all. But the artist I saw absolutely killed it, though.
Been to most of the venues in Colorado and this is hands-down the best. I have a lot of incredible memories here. They book great bands and keep the ticket costs reasonable. Great staff and security, without being overwhelming. $3 for a HUGE slice of pizza. Really clean and spacious bathrooms. Bar always seems to be wide open even at sold-out shows. You can stage dive and be right in front of the band here. What more could you ask for from a venue?
Great venue, had an awesome time at Matt Maeson a few weeks ago. Bar service fast, solid flow in/out of the venue, morale was high and the pizza was tasty. Had a chance to chat with a few of the wonderful individuals staffing it that eve, special s/o to Dan, Tanner and Kirsten!
Good sound, good pizza, but the staff is terrible. They treat their bands awfully and dont pay them what they deserve. If your a local band looking to play a good venue I dont recommend wasting your time and energy selling tickets for this venue because they will only pay you chump change. No matter how much many you make the venue you will walk away unsatisfied and robbed. Total let down.
Great small venue to see awesome bands! Great bar staff, pizza available, friendly security staff!
Great venue to see a show! Good pizza, no lines for the bathroom, and you can get up close and personal with the stage.Looking forward to future shows
The Marquis is a pretty intimate venue - there are low ceilings, a mix of tables and standing room. I think the sound there is pretty good, actually, but with the physical setup it can be hard to see the band. My advice is to go early and head for the seats near the front, if you can. Theres pizza there, right in the lobby, and its good stuff (New York style), if youre wondering about whether theres food.
Good smaller venue. Great pizza, slices are huge! Employees are very welcoming. The band we saw, Thunderthief was awesome!!!
One of my favorite venues in Denver.
Saw Alien Weaponry live here tonight and they were fantastic! Opener Lavagato from Colorado Springs were great as well. Staff was very friendly and the crowd was there to mosh it up and have a good time. Loved it!
My partner went to get us some slices of pizza. The guy was rude a.f. the slice that I received was a cheese pizza with unfinished peppers, onions, pepperoni, and sausage thrown on afterwards to warm up under the heat lamp. All those toppings were cold. Be weary of food born illness if needing a slice while partying.
I love the Marquis and I miss going to shows there a whole lot, so I hoped snagging some pizza there would help scratch that itch. It did somewhat. Walking up (and on their website) it says that they have dine in and full bar available. Upon arriving (Thursday night around 7:30) they were only doing to go from a window. Luckily wed somewhat planned for this and dressed warm. The staff was friendly and the pizza was super rad. I didnt even mind sitting on the sidewalk, I just wish theyd update their signage :)
Went for Unwritten Law on Feb 9th, venue is very cool, decent amount of space. Only problem was the bar... 2 bartenders struggled HARD all night... The beer taps looked to be shooting 75% foam, and even aside from that one of the two just looked overwhelmed. Was still an awesome time, so fix the taps and make this a 5 star place! P.S. eat the pizza 😉
Wicked sweet little place. Could use more fans but thats a small venues staple- being hot. Definitely dress in layers so you can peelem iff when you get warm. Super worth it and the pizza place is BOMB and so well placed it hurts. :]
Ive been to a few shows at the marquis. I like that its small and you can get right up front to see your favorite bands. The place is kind of a dive but Im also thrilled that they make vegan pizza. Its so hard to get vegan pizza and theirs is actually decent. Finding parking kinda sucks but its the same for all the businesses in the area.
One of my favorite concert experiences of all time. Very small venue, but that made the Delta Sleep show even crazier. Cant wait to see some more shows here.
The best damn pizza you can find in the area at any given time, and at 2am after a weekend bar crawl its nourishment from the gods themselves.Backed by an awesome and friendly (provided youre respectful first) staff, the awesome music venue in the back is an excellent bonus which has provided years upon years of memorable shows.New or Native to Denver, you owe it to pay this place a visit. I dont need to say youll be back, the itch for one of their amazing slices will take care of that for me.
One of my all time favorite venues! Sad to say they ripped me off last show. The bartenders were very rude, and charged a different tip than I wrote on the receipt. DIRTY!
One of the best concerts we had been to! We went to me MeWithoutYou last year and are actually on our way now to another one! For how small the area is (for a concert) one would expect it to be overcrowded, but no! Everyone was respectful and had a great time! Awesome, intimate, concert experience!
Favorite venue in denver. Great pizza, good security people, good sound crew. Been there for 3 shows so far, never disappointed. Theres a place to sit in the back if youre not super into some of the bands
Great smaller concert venue where you can get pizza before the show! There is an area for standing as well as sitting on stools. Arrive early if you want a stool!
Great venue. Small and intimate
Easy to get to venue, and I loved how intimate seeing a show was. Very up close and personal. Staff was nice and professional. Drink prices were a little crazy, but that isnt uncommon.
Great small venue for shows. The sound was amazing! The bar service was fast and the pizza delicious!! Will be back soon
Who doesnt love a show at the Marquis? Small enough to be intimate. Loud enough to be big. Great staff and some of the best pizza in Denver. Whats not to love?
These scammy bartenders will leave whatever tip on your tab, and even change your tip afterwards. Beware of their shady practices.
September 5th 2019 - Amazing intimate venue!!! Amazing pizza!!! Amazing drink prices!!! 4 stars because it felt like it was over 100 degrees inside all night.
Saw Pvris here and the show was amazing. The place was kinda small so everyone was packed in and it was ridiculously hot amongst the crowd of bodies. When everyone was jumping to the music you could feel the floor move with everyones jumps. But still a great show.
I really like the set up of this place. Had a rocking time!!! Fast bartenders. Spacious stage. Recommend forsure! Went go see the band Drift Away Dreamer. Check them out super good!!!
Great little venue, especially for all ages or 18 plus. I mean they serve pizza right there fresh and have beer. Next to Coors field basically, I mean... perfect.
New sound system is AMAZING. Seems like theyve opened up the floorplan since I was last here as well, which is fine by me. More room for all
The Marquis Theater has great music events. But, the wife and i usually come here for the pizza slices. They are so awesome. Huge new york style slices. If you dont mind the weird Satan looking logo...its truly good food.
No beer on tap. Pizza sucked
The Marquis Theater is a great place to see your favorite band up close and personal. Once the crowd gets going the floor has some “bounce” to it which is an experience unique to this Colorado concert venue. Their drink prices are fair... and they serve pizza!
A great place to enjoy the local Denver punk scene. Good pizza. Parking is tough, 20 bucks for the evening.
Not a bad venue. But one time they refused to accept my legal, valid, drivers license from Texas because its vertical. Even though the id is valid till 2019. So aside from that its decent. Last time i went I didnt have an issue with it though, or else I would prob have given 1 star.
Wow, security abused their authority. Let me begin by saying that yes I was wrong to a point but for a man to put his hands on me, grab me and push me around for just smoking a joint is wrong!!! This security guard came from behind me, grabbed my wrist and tried to restrain me for some reason. I was lucky to have my husband near by to witness this completely sober. My husband was also rudely shoved numerous times from behind by this security guy while we were leaving. Oh we were very aggressively thrown out of this place too. This whole time I did have a can of beer in my hands and as they were pushing my husband and I out the front door they began to yell at me and grab at me again because of the can of beer. If they did not physically push us out I would have had an opportunity to get rid of the beer. I understand that smoking a joint in public is illegal, but this was a hard rock show. I have smoked at every venue up front at the stage and never been thrown out. Highly Suspect was smoking joints from the crowd at my last show. Again, I will take some of this blame but for that security to handle me physically like that and to push us out of the show was unprofessional very disrespectful as none of the security shown us any respect through this whole event.
The Marquis pizza is not cheesy anymore they pre cook tons of plain cheese pizza and sit on rack, then when someone orders all cheese they re heat so it dry as hell.. if you want toppings they add and throw back in oven. I will never eat here again. They are lazy now. I miss that good ol cheesy Ninaja Turtle Thin Giant Pizza. Now its Trash 🗑 😒
Place was amazing and the vibe was great. Good place to see shows
Great venue, cool employees, and a nice bar to sit at either before or after seeing a music group there. I’d recommend!
As a venue, the stage is crap and the sound is ok. As a cheap pizza place, its phenomenal. I think its a couple bucks a slice. When its one am and your drunk af, this is the spot (unless you want hotdogs from around the corner). Bartenders are alright imo.
Great venue for small concerts
The staff is generally not very friendly, but what can you really expect from a rock venue staff. Pizza is amazing. So good. Drinks are made well. Really, really loud.
Always a good place to catch a show. The pizza is bomb af always but your guys beer selection is literal trash and you have no good selections and jacked up prices. Youre not red rocks so 8 bucks for a beer is kinda pathetic honestly especially when its a coors....or PBR. You dont even carry blue moon or a slew of other good selections. Go for the music but not much else..
The worst experience I’ve ever had with VIP tonight for cupcakke.I spent $150 for 2 VIP meet and great tickets.I got to Will Call and found out that the meet and great was over before the show even started at 8pmNever did I receive an email about this nor was I told about the time for the meet and greet. The worst experience ever!Never will I come to the venue again nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone!
Great venue. Polite staff and drink specials all the time. A fantastic place to see local music and larger acts. Your Own Medicine plays there often and its always a great show!!
Small, personal concert venue with great pizza. Very affordable parking in their lot (compared to other downtown parking), but it fills up quickly, so get there early if you want a spot.
Cozy environment which allows fans to get up close and personal with the various bands that come through, ranging from the unknown to popular, you may catch your favorite band here! The Pizza sold here is not too shabby either!
Its a small concert venue that has available seating with a small counter facing the stage. The best part is that they serve pizza next door and you are able to grab a slice during a show!
Went for the Billy Raffoul concert and the place did a horrible job of keeping the crowd somewhat quiet. Billy tried multiple times to quiet them with no luck. Would have been nice for the venue to step in and help.
Gave the bartenders my card to open a tab. 3 days later my card info was stolen and had 400 taken out of my account. Tried to call the venue to see whats up and no way to talk to anybody short of showing up at the theater. Will not return. Telling all my friends not to go to this swindlers den unless you want to get robbed.
Wanted to charge 20% on order over $100 for take out. Then got order wrong and I had to fight on phone to get a deserved credit. Wont EVER go there again once I use my credit. Food was only.decent on top.of all that.
Love it, but it gets crowded. The crowd is always cool though anytime ive been to a concert there
