I bought a table and I gotta say the worst club in Boston hands down. They pick and choose who they want to check and if you have legal weed on you they take it while you everyone else smoking upstairs. Imagine how it feels to spend a few grand and they limit your whole night while let everyone else get away with everything. Insane. Not worth the cover or money inside. Better off just bar hopping.
The security at this establishment is absolutely terrible. They’re rude, aggressive, and can’t do their job. Pat downs were barely being done. I could’ve sworn someone got into the club Friday night with what looked like a knife or God forbid worse. Management brushed off my concerns when I brought it to their attention and rudely said don’t worry about it. I think the guys name was Dave or Big Dave, that ball headed demon smelt like tequila and piss mixed and let to set over night. I’m never giving my hard earned money to such a poor excuse of a night club. They’re the main reason why people from other states say that Boston has little to no night life. Ownership should get their act together and get some better staff or something because this is disappointing and disgusting. Young ladies please be careful as well because these folks do not care for your safety WHATSOEVER. -100000/10
This place is the biggest SCAM in Boston. We were recommended to come and there was a $40 cover charge and the place was EMPTY at midnight. What a joke. The staff here is extremely rude. Watch out for the door guy in the video. He tried pushing us around and we weren’t making any scene & were sober. That’s why I started recording
This place has gone downhill even more nasty then it was a few years ago. if you want a dirty venue with soaking wet floors and girls dressed in whatever they want to try and finesse you with terrible music that the dj wont let one good song play past the first verse and your stepping in literal piss in the bathroom then this is the place for you.
Definitely an experience. It’s great to say you’ve been, especially if you’re doing bottle service! The waitresses are super dedicated to making sure you have the time of your life with full service! It is a vibe and the dj does an exceptional job of catering to everyone with his diverse selection of music! Worth the experience if you’re visiting Boston☺️☺️
Had a really great time here until the bouncers asked a friend of mine to get some air for a few minutes outside because he was seemingly drunk, I walked out with my friend and realized we should probably leave so I asked the bouncers to go back inside to close my tab and grab my roommates and they wouldn’t allow me inside. Kept telling me to call my friends as if they’d hear a phone call in a club. I was the only female, being completely disregarded by 4 bouncers all at once. Finally the eldest bouncer, with freckles, used his walkie talkie to reach my friends and close my tab after I begged them for 20 minutes to just let me close out. It was clear I was well intended, just helping out a friend and I was completely disregarded and ignored. Bouncer was also physical with my friend, pushed him. These dudes were completely misogynistic, unhelpful, disrespectful, and had no empathy.
Bijou bouncers are very shady. I have had the worst experience at Bijou when I was seriously looking forward to hear DJ Sisko because He is one of the top DJs in Boston. I have heard him several times in the past but that will be the last time. I guess I will wait when he is DJn some other clubs. Please people! I urge you to save your money, cover charge $40 is extremely excessive. I came early so it was dead and they wouldnt let me go outside to go smoke a cigarette.
I went to Ahadadream and I was expecting to have a good time but it was the worst experience of my life. Starting with security, Tushane should be fired and never work in hospitality ever again. That’s all I have to say. Also, their security manager Dave is extremely condescending. Fire them both.
The waiter withheld my card until she was satisfied with my tip. Charged me 18 dollars per shot and was extremely rude. Would never come again.
After experiencing multiple club experiences in the boston area, bijou is honestly the only one that consistently satisfies. sure drinks can be pricey but so are the drinks anywhere in boston these days so for me, it might as well be somewhere i know i’ll have a good time. had rebecca as our bottle girl the last couple of times my friends and i have gone and she’s always pleasant and always adds to the experience, having fun but remaining professional. 10/10 would recommend a night out at bijou if you’re looking to dance and have some fun! :)
Worst club ever. Completely empty and they make you pay $40 for cover when they know it’s gonna be empty. Waste of money and the staff is rude.
This place was a total disaster for me and my friends. I was in Boston for the weekend so my friends said lets try out this place. It was sold out. But they said they will give us a standing section, so we agreed. But when we bought the bottle. They told us we wont have a server to our standing section, that we are to come to the bar to be served anytime we wanted to refill. It wasnt what I expected. So we had to leave. But for other sections that had servers, they were having a good time. And it was packed with too many Teens( or maybe in their early 20s), my observations.
DONT COME HERE THEY SCAM YOU I PAID 37$ for a ticket in advance only to show up and them tell me that actually there are 2 bijous which is not clearly marked on the ticket i bought i online
I love that the venue is small, somewhat casual (not posh or upscale) and more of a rock venue vibe in appearance, and audience can connect better to the DJs. Bijou hosts many international DJs that are lesser known, but good. At the shows I have been to, there has been a balanced and diverse crowd, people, fashion, and ages. I have gone alone many times and have never been harassed. There aren’t many seating areas other than a small VIP area and it can get really crowded.Cons:My biggest complaint is the drinks are terrible!!! The beer choices are also ridiculously bad. Is there even a choice? I think it was Bud and Corona. It doesn’t make sense to me.There are too many vapers. I am shocked how many there are and that weird smell really get into your clothes and probably your own lungs. Bijou needs to ban vaping in the main area and enforce it. I saw a group of 5 or 6 young women in a ring all vaping in unison like it was “cool”…. Nothing classy about that.My other slight annoyance is it is difficult to see the DJs if you are close to the front—there is a big wall. I realize it is probably for safety and to be visible from back of room, but some effort could be made by the venue to make it look a bit less rustic. That said… I still like to go there. I definitely go for the DJs I am familiar with and love, hence, the 4 stars. I think it is a reliable place if you are fine with lower expectations, lesser known DJs and just want to dance.
Absolutely awful experience. Came to boston for my bday and wanted to go dancing - Bijou was the easiest option. $40 cover charge for an empty club at 10:30pm on a SATURDAY. My husband and I paid $80 total before even getting to the bar and refused to even get drinks based on the cover fee. Everyone who works there seems super uncomfy and awkward for whatever reason. Do NOT recommend!
Went to bijou on a Saturday night without having plans. We were debating to go to techno or the hiphop one. We went to the hiphop one. Great music and DJ sets. Would definitely go back again. Bouncer Joyce was very helpful and nice. Its rare to find bouncers that are nice to people. Thank you Joyce!
This place ruined our whole night. We were in town for a concert, wanted to dance after said concert. So we found this place online & took an Uber across town. The bouncer was incredibly rude, and wouldnt let us in because we werent on the reserved list but there was NO mention of that online, and again we were from out of town so we had no idea. We tried to ask the bouncer questions about how to get on the list, why it was not mentioned online and he just kept saying you have to be on the list very unhelpful. I felt like it was just because we werent dressed in mini skirts & heels that we werent being allowed in.
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. THEY STOLE MY FRIENDS WALLET. Plz don’t go here . They took advantage that we’ weren’t from the town. Bouncers were sketchy. Only people that were there were bottles girls that were “off the clock”.
Amazing club, this is the new room they opened and it’s great. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the Dj was fantastic as well. Will definitely be returning! Such a fun and cool vibe in there!
Great location to go out with friends & overall a great time. Although drinks are a bit expensive, it’s expected in every club around Boston.
Got over charged and paid a total of 43 dollars for an empty club. was told it was 40 and i want my 3 dollars back lmao. never again. the security harrashed us and told us no drinks on the floor when we had them for 30 mins prior. guy was harassing us and killed the vibe
Its the only good techo/house dance club in Boston with a decent sound system. The line up is ok mostly but once in a while the headliner could be a accomplished DJ and the atmosphere can be electric. Unfortunately 2AM deadline is simply too quick for a good set to develop. The table service is annoying and often takes away from the classless culture of techno but thats were the $$$ is and thus its a bit commercial compared to other major cities were the community and the music is elevated beyond the financial goal. For Boston and its place in the scene its a step down from past years of Avalon, Machine, Rise but its still doing its bit to keep the House music option for us diehards and that makes it worth it.
Stay away if you’re in your mid 20s. They gave promotion gigs to children and the crowd is entirely underage. The right (older/original) side has its moments but the newer right side is a joke. Music is never bad, just beware what you’re walking into.
We went to Bijou last Saturday with my friend who was celebrating her Birthday party. Immediately, we were struck by the kindness, patience and hospitality of one of the security guards, Joyce who was a good sport. We had an Hawaiian theme for my friends birthday and decided to put one of the Hawaiian necklaces around his neck and told him: you just got laid!, he started laughing. And kudos to Joyce because he smelled amazing with his Yves Saint Laurent Eau de Parfum.Joyce made our experience so much better at Bijou. We thanked him on the way out, he asked us: Did you guys have fun! And taught us how to say good bye in French: Au Revoir
You know a place is truly terrible when the employee cannot look you in the eyes as she explains their policy to you. Incredibly predatory ticketing system. Bought a ticket in advance online for ~$34 that was for early arrival (before 11:30). I show up at 11 but have to wait in line because it’s a busy Saturday night. Understandable, but by the time I get up there it’s passed 11:30 and I am told that my ticket is invalid and I now have to pay a $43 cover. $77 before even walking in the bar. The woman I was talking to was staring directly at the floor the entire time I was trying to explain the situation to her and just kept repeating the same thing. She knew it was BS but that’s their business here. They should specify their early arrival policy to say “before 11:30 + however long you think the line will be that night.”
Until just recently, I hadnt been to Bijou since way before covid and my experience has only been 10/10 since. The new second floor lounge is such a vibe, as they have day parties that offer Rose!! Staff was polite and professional. Music was ACTUALLY good and the crowd was mixed with young professionals. Bury me at Bijou
Would be a cool spot!! Unfortunately people here dont like smoking! If you smoke anything this club isnt a good spot! They overcharge and arent considerate hosts!!
I love this place, the hospitality is amazing. The service is immaculate. It is also really clean from the bar to the bathrooms!!
Ive enjoyed the boston nightlife for 9 years now and this was my worst experience ever. Not only did I wait for 40 minutes outside in 15 degrees for my table for my birthday, the security at the line “whos not responsible for the line”was letting in over 15+ different frat boys over the course of our wait. Once the last one did I questioned why and I was kicked out of line then they watched me wait line again, just to kick me out once i reached the end for their own sick narcissistic enjoyment. Never ever again do not ever go here. Much better places like Venu, empire, bijou, memoir in encore etc. Not to mention theirs been reports of spiked drinks
I’ve been to many Boston clubs, however Bijou is the best! One thing I’ve noticed about bijou compared to other clubs in Boston is the diversity of the music.I heard music from many different countries which is not common in Boston. I definitely recommend this place for people who wanna have a great time and listen to amazing music!
Best club in Boston if you like house music🪩
Been going for a while - saturday nights have the best music with dj sisko! the bottle girls are all so pretty and so sweet! their outfits are so cute on the theme nights! legit all the staff are very down to earth and helpful, from diamond in security to the women’s bathroom attendant! gives a very intimate and more personalized vibe in contrast to other boston clubs
As someone who is an avid clubber here and in Europe I have to honestly say that Bijou is a totally lackluster club. Drinks and cover charge are ridiculous. Table service significantly overpriced with hospitality severely lacking. They might want to take a page out of EMPs playbook. Drinks are okay albeit unbalanced. The club is mostly dead until 11:45 but by then there isnt much time to properly party. I would reccomend literally any other nightclub.
Yeah, Bijou kinda sucks. The drinks are way overpriced and the bar staff is there to look good, not make good drinks. Worst of all, as others have said, it actually can be difficult to breathe. They either go well above capacity or there is some air circulation issue. All that being said, Ive had many fantastic nights at Bijou because they get names that other clubs just dont. If youre in to house music, especially deep house, there will be must-see Bijou shows. But the establishment itself is a bit of a mess.
The place is tricky. I went on a house night. The venue is small, security was way too invasive of space they would kill the vibes... drinks are very expensive, and the crowd seemed very confused and lost, they seem to be absolute newbies and don’t know how to party. Now the sound system was pretty good, visuals weren’t too bad. They have seats here and there. Bathrooms were clean and easily available. There weren’t any cute girls (for those of you wondering). And like most places in Boston they close at 2am.There seems to be a quite flexible dress code and a pretty mixed crowd.I’d say I’d only go here if there’s a dj I like that much. Otherwise I know a night at this place sucks.
Made a 3 hour drive after work to attend Bijou Fridays with Amelie Lens headlining. Totally blown away by the experience, one of the best nights out Ive had in ages. Sound system was awesome. Light show was killer. The vibe, most importantly, was completely off the charts - whole place was packed. Everyone dancing and having a great time. Staff, including the bouncers, were super friendly and professional. This has to be one of the best clubs Ive ever been to - high class with a true underground atmosphere you could feel the love for Techno just emanating from the whole place. Wish you guys all the success in the world, Ill certainly be returning.
Terrible bartenders. Told the bartender I wanted 2 shots but she ended up giving us and charging us for 3. What’s worse is that she automatically tipped herself 20% which I’ve never seen in any club.
Organized but not overly obtrusive. Classy but not overly snobbish. Hosts performances of good house music. Tends to be focused on quasi-mainstream electronic music rather than more experimental or underground sounds, but it brings in a decent variety and good talent. Good sound system, but not top of the line for a venue of this scale. Stage and room layout are good functionally and acoustically. CO2 cannons are a blast. It can be challenging to weave your way around when its packed, especially with the two rows of VIP tables, but its doable, particularly because security does a decent job of clearing a walking area around the perimeter. Staff are professional but overwhelmingly focused on being efficient over being friendly. Decent selection of liquor, served efficiently, but priced high. For beer, there is only Corona. More choices of beer would be very welcome. It has its drawbacks and areas for improvement, but Ive always enjoyed myself here.
This is a place not worth the time and money. The music is ordinary the staff especially the bouncers are no good they set there own rules. I have seen rules here that are unique only to this place.Once you get in you cant go out of the club till 12.30 even after paying a cover charge of $30. After 12.30 you can only access a small area outside and cant go beyond that and god forbid if you forgot and left something inside, you have to wait till the club closes down(Unique rules by bouncers). The drinks are overpriced the crowd is what you can get in any other clubs nearby. Bad experience
The club itself was fun, but packed. $40 cover is too high for anything in Boston, and heaven forbid you leave anything. I left my license on Saturday, called on Sunday and got a recording telling me to call back Monday between 11-3. I called Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Showed up at opening on Friday, and was told to show up Mon-Fri between 11-3, and someone would definitely be there. As you can imagine, no one was there, and no one answered the phone.
This place is where they legit let all the underage people in and exceed their fire code limit by at least 100 based on what staff has told me. Not one event isn’t “over-sold”. Their trick, however, is they arbitrarily kick random people out when they know they are becoming too greedy with the capacity. Drinks are obviously overpriced and watered down (also what a previous staff member told me…) absolutely stay away from this establishment if you want to enjoy your night
Good sound system, good ambiance, and pulls in great talent on Friday nights. Drinks are on the expensive side, but thats to be expected. The layout is the biggest drawback here, as theres a massive VIP section right in the middle of everything that makes it difficult to move around. You can certainly have a good time here, but you can also tell its one of those clubs designed more to maximize revenues more than provide a great experience for those attending.
WOW! THIS WAS A TRUE LEGENDARY EXPERIENCE! This place is a staple and home for some of the best events in town...I cant believe the night we had last weekend. LAST FRIDAY NIGHT...thank you to the incredible team and friendliest staff in town. My friend and I appreciate it. Also, lots of hotties there!
Visited Bijou recently & I must say the environment was great! DJ’s were awesome - along with the staff being very friendly & accommodating! 10/10 would recommend & will definitely be back in the future!
I consider this to be the best nightclub in Boston as of early 2020. The venue staff is very polite and well coordinated. That said, prices are high. $30 for entry cover, $14 not including tip for a rum and coke, and $7 for straight soda. $4 per item at coat check. Bartenders are there to be flashy and are not that well trained. The first floor is hip hop and there is a second floor for edm. Management calls them separate venues so if you want to go between floors you have to pay entry again. Make sure to know which line you are in.
0 stars as a traveller in Summer. Refused entry based on a dress code that clearly only applied to males and the female with us. Bouncers were rude and laughed about it. We even saw one around the corner who cracked a joke about not letting us in after the 15 year olds in short skirts in front of us were allowed in.
Stupid, not letting people with long pants in but let shorts in
This is the smallest nightclub I have ever been to. This club is dirty. And it smells bad inside. I went there because one of my favorite DJ was playing. I would not go there again. The drinks are overpriced. The restrooms are dirty.
Bijou nightclub is the best nightclub in Boston and in the entire U.S.A. It has the best music. It has the best performers. It has the bartenders. It has the best waitresses. It has the best security. It has the best bussers. It has the best booze. It has the best customers. To 75% of the keyboard warriors out there: when writing dishonest negative reviews about a businesses out of your twisted sense of justice, remember that you live in your mother’s basement. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. If your parents did not raise you correctly, it’s never too late to take personal responsibility for how you have turned out. Look at the way you are living your life. Go outside and get some fresh air, and most importantly, read a book once in a while.
Terrible club ! 0 customer service.Canceled show on last minute without any email/message to notify you about. They refunded the ticket price, but not the fees, even tho they canceled. A dispute with bank solved the problem, but still pathetic from them. Avoid this small smelly club
The lighting was solid, but everything else was not great. 25 minutes to get in as a ticket holder, ridiculous waits due to people trying to leave for a smoke break, long coat check waits for short lines, and the drink prices are oppressive ($58 for two premium [Stoli] vodka tonics). The entry hallway is far too narrow as an emergency exit. We had an issue entering the main hall as some people were trying to leave and that was enough to prevent anyone from moving.I cant recommend this place. Its not worth the drink money, the sound was oppressively loud and skewed to muddy bass, and if there were any situation that needed people to quickly leave, it couldnt happen.
This club is absolutely unprofessional. It’s one club but two entrances and we were never told of that disparity. When I and 20+ people entered, they never told us and so we paid our 25$ and within 2 minutes of going upstairs and realizing it’s the wrong place they told us we had to go back to the other entrance and pay AGAIN no refunds. The bouncer was basically taunting us saying no refunds after we just walked in and spent absolutely no time at all. After a friend pour a lot of time into speaking with the manager he finally gave us back a refund. Extremely bad first impression of this place. Felt dishonest and unprofessional
Worst DJs Ive ever heard, the DJs switch songs every 30 seconds, the bpm and key kept changing, and all the songs only had a build up, no drops. Drinks are super expensive, watered down. The club only got more and more empty as time went.Coming from dozens of clubs from Miami, this is hands down worst club Ive attended in my life.
Been going here for over a year upstairs for electronic shows and have always enjoyed it.Security does a good job of keeping out and removing anyone that causes trouble.Drinks and door tickets arent cheap but thats how it is with downtown clubs. Got to pay for everything somehow. If you dont have the money just buy tickets ahead of time and go easy on drinks.I dont know what everyone else leaving the negative reviews is doing wrong... Maybe they are just going to the wrong shows with the wrong crowds? Maybe they arent mature? Who knows.
I had the best time here, I’ve been going out in Boston for so long and nothing is like going to Bijou. From the moment you walk in until you leave their establishment you’re having a great time. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in town
Definitely my favorite Boston nightclub in Chinatown bijou sound system is definitely amazing & there staff there so Beautiful & friendly professional. I totally love the experience and environment.
Extremely unprofessional staff. Door bouncers are ambitiously rude and it seems that they love to racially profile people. A huge NO NO!!!! Way better places to have fun and enjoy a friendly good time in Boston. Stay away and bring your business somewhere else where you will be appreciated as a customer.
The event on last Sun May 30th was the worst experience ever! They didn’t switch on AC so there was no air to breath well and it was insane!! Thus we couldn’t enjoy the music at all as it was impossible to be inside and I almost fainted! I don’t understand why we have to pay for this as they didn’t manage to fix everything in advance though they had a whole year for it! The staff was rude and didn’t do anything to fix the issue.Plus in order to prevent Covid, there should be a permanent circle of air in the building and if not, then people can get sick. We are planning to contact Department of Public Health and inform them that this club doesn’t follow all necessary conditions to keep this place safe.
40 dollars to enter the club before drinks are ye having a laugh absolute scam don’t enter this place common sense prevails joke 😂😂
This is the worse place to go to if you have any ounce of class left in you. Manager Jay is a complete useless person, everyone at the front desk care nothing about anyone’s experience except their pockets. They make you pay $30 on the worse days and offer absolutely no refunds because they’re junk, complete junk.Their hip-hop is one of the worst. No dress code, most people you’ll find are mostly white looking college kids or dressed like one.
Other than some good djs playing there the bouncers make the place extremely uncomfortable. Not only are they flashing their bright flashlights during the middle of the performances for absolutely no reason but they bump into you and randomly just walk into the crowd. If they were going to approach someone than thats fine, but not once was that their intention. They just walk through the crowd, WITH THEIR FLASHLIGHTS ON, to make their presence felt, which gets really annoying since theyre absolutely everywhere.
Worst experience of my life. They dont like female presence here, and if you want to pay a high price to get disrespected this is the place for you. Me and the group I was with paid for a table then when we finally did get inside, they said we have to buy an additional $60 ticket. The lights were on almost the entire time and a fight broke out. I went outside to film the main attraction that they had (he was leaving because a fight broke out) and they wouldnt allow me back into the establishment after purchasing a $60 ticket and the table. Never again in my life. I would highly recommend going to a nightclub where your money is valued and also your presence is valued
Bouncer was rude and made up Massachusetts laws! Made us head back to our hotel for passports only to deny us entry for some other made up reason after we came back. Finally decided to let us in and then jacked up the cover to $80 USD. Terrible experience! Highly recommend NOT going to this place. Highly pretentious.
Saw Meduza at Bijou on a Friday night and it was a great experience. We got in quick, the energy was high, and everyone had a good time. Drinks are definitely too expensive, but if you drink enough beforehand (definitely did) than it helps. I would recommend going and not judging it based on the reviews from people who are mad about having to pay for covers. Judge it for yourself.
Worst bartenders. They steal your money. The drink was $14, I gave them 4-$5s. No change.. just a smile and moved on. Would have left a $2 tip but instead stole $6. Only got water after that. I work service industry and would never do that. Found out later that was the bar manager...her name is megan..I like to think we are good people but she is not.
DONT DO IT. coat checked my wallet in my coat pocket and at the end of the night it was magically not there. multiple friends witnessed me shoving my wallet into my coat, and after encounters with many unfriendly, rude and overly confident employees (the manager being the worst one), the wallet was found on the floor by the dj. the manager got in my face at the end of the night asking me why i thought i was soooo sure about my wallet and other rude remarks. the situation was handled so disgusting, and they tried to force me to believe that i was just too drunk to remember where i put it (i was sober...). condescending and manipulating. there have been reviews of theft and i did not want to believe them because when does it ever really happen to you but its just funny to me how it was the employees, not even the people there. i will never be returning.
If I had to put 0 stars I would. My cousin when there to have a good time and instead he was pushed down the stairs by two security guards. They caused him to crack his head open and even punched him in the face multiple times. He has multiple fractures in his leg and had to get his head stapled. Worse of all they didn’t even call an ambulance instead they threw him out like dog. Very inhumane and unprofessional of them. Don’t believe we won’t do anything about it !!! Charges are going to be pressed.
Was charged $35 dollars to get in when others after my group were charged nothing. The drinks are 1% alcohol. Do not waste your money. Thank god for having good friends because this place ruined my birthday experience.
Amazing vibe, atmosphere and music. Service was great, and entry was smooth and worth the price.
Well organized establishment. Great sound, comfortable dance zone, well trained and polite staff. Enjoyed there with friends the Bedouin performance from 10 PM to 2 AM, had pure fun
I love house and techno more than most and Bijou is able to draw the biggest and best names in Boston so therefore I have tried my best to enjoy myself there, but I just can’t get past the poor layout and quite frankly atrocious sound system. It’s the best club Boston has but that is by no means a compliment. Save your money
Absolutely horrible. Went to go see La Fleur + Sith tonight and was denied because of my casual attire. I wore a black polo shirt, black kilt, and boots; apparently this is not proper casual attire. Nothing was stated on the website about what was approved or not approved as proper casual attire; just listed as casual under their dress code. Very negative and disrespectful bouncers, wouldnt even look at me when i asked them a question. Would never go back, apparently its the bouncers choice if you look good enough to be let in, doesnt matter if you already bought a ticket or not.
Place was awful. When me and a group of 10 people purchased our tickets for NYE is stated we would get champagne at midnight included. When it became close to midnight, which we only knew because we checked our phones as there were no tvs or anything said about it being close, the staff knew nothing about this. She then began to pour glasses for my friends and I, so I thought they would be complementary, because that is what I was told when I bought the ticket in the first place. That was not the case as I got hit with a $110.00 bill because of this. I do not understand how you could promote something and then not follow it. Id never go back to this place.
One of the best international nightclub in Boston. They organize a lot of special nights with famous DJ from all over the world. The nightclub is not huge but its guaranteed to spend an awesome night. The coverage is 20 $ and they do serve burger and fries at the end of the night ( not free ).
Came here for drinks to celebrate a birthday and everything is just extremely overpriced. The cover is not worth it and the drinks are on par with all the other clubs in the area. Overall there is nothing special here, but I am rating it low because the bartenders are extremely rude.
Expensive drinks but good music
The place is a Joke. They tried to revive an old run down club from the nineties and it still looks like that . Extremely rude and unprofessional staff at the door . They tend to forget that people who come there should be treated well. It is very obvious that the people who run it have absolutely no clue how to run a nightclub. One of the bartenders kept giving her friends drinks at my expense ( had a tab open) and when i disputed it the manager ( Dimitri one of the rudest people i have ever met ) said that the drinks are on your bill you obviously ordered them , didnt matter what i said and they wouldt give my card back unless i signed it. So I did but later disputed it with my credit card company . This is no way to do business . You want a nice place where you are treated well go to CURE. Staff are nice and bouncers speak professionally. Forget bijou.
Came in on a Saturday night, it was a hip-hop themed night and seems to be so every Saturday here. Aggressive pat down upon entering the club. Apparently vaporizer pens are such a problem at this club that there is a big sign saying how they are not allowed.Someone asked me what the word ratchet meant and it was easy to describe... Look over there I would say, Hes ratchet, shes ratchet, oh and so is that girl with her ass hanging outThis bar played good hip hop but the crowd was mixed and drinks were pricey. The $30 cover charge seemed a little crazy, I would recommend getting on the guest list, its much cheaper. Plan early my friends.
Bijou is amazing!! If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would. From the exceptional customer service to the best djs in the city. Bijou is the spot in Boston.
I am against writing negative reviews online because as a business owner myself I believe every business makes mistakes and shouldnt be held accountable for every little thing but this place is just dispicabble. My friends and I spent $90 on a ticket for new years and when we arrived around 10:45 there was a line 100 people long. We waited there until 12:30 after the ball had dropped and the line still had not moved. That is like going to a Celtics game and them saying oh you have to wait in line the entire game because we decided to sell too many tickets.I will be going to the BBB and attorney general to try and get my money back. If this helps even one person never go to this horrific establishment I will have done my job. Do yourself a favor and do not give these criminals your money.
Bottle girls are the best there is and Rebecca is a sweet heart.
Awful Doormen, For Halloween they would not let my friend in with a costume even though it said costumes encouraged. Asked if we had a drink before doors opened at 10:30 pm (who hadnt) and my over honest wife said yes and we both got booted. Terrible place, out $60 and didnt get in the door. If youre going there just lie in general about everything. Wont be going back unless theres an artist I would sell my soul to see.
Despite all the negative comments on here, still a decent place to go in Boston for some nightlife. No its not Miami, but still reasonable. Only complaints are with bouncers who constantly are wandering through the dance floor, and the $14 drinks. Security isnt that bad, so just sneak in some liquor.
After reading these comments I agree with most people on here. Bouncers set their own rules... we were staying at the W across the street... waited in line for 45 mins watching people get pushed through the line, and even got right to the rope line, yet still watched people get the Vip treatment and walk right past us. Yes, Im a guy...but with two young good looking girls, not like we didnt look the part. Also they informed us cover was 40 bucks...couldnt tell you if it was worth it... seemed like mostly Spanish people. So if youre not Spanish and feel like getting treated like an absolute p.o.s by the funky- dressed unprofessional bouncer, I highly recommend this place!
Had such a good time. Music was good. Saturdays are super lit. Definitely recommend.
Bad experience at this establishment. The staff was very rude and this is a low end nightclub (dont listen to anyone who thinks its not). The drinks were not terribly bad but for the price of $15 per drink you expect more. Avoid this nightclub if you can.
This is my home away from home on the weekend (and sometimes during the week). For house and techno aficionados, Bijou reigns supreme in Boston as a curator of top talent. In just the last year, Ive been to countless shows hosted by the likes of Damian Lazarus, Lane 8, Claptone, Boys Noize, Destructo, REZZ, Sonny Fodera, Hannah Wants, Lee Burridge...among many others. It attracts a diverse crowd including everyone from your fist-pumping Jersey bro, to the aspiring fashionistas and wooked-out club kids. What can you expect for a night out at Bijou, heres a quick and dirty list of my personal pros and cons:PRO:- Talent - this is THE spot in Boston for the best in underground house and techno- Small, intimate club environment compared to Boston music venues like House of Blues, Middle East, Royale and Ascend Nightclub.- Sound - while Im no audio expert, Ive found that the fidelity of sound in Bijou is better than any other venue Boston. They do tend to be louder than other venues so I often bring ear plugs.- Staff - everyone Ive interacted with has been helpful and reasonable. Sure the security staff can come off as stern and imposing but compared to other clubs (*cough* Ascend *cough*) they dont hassle you unnecessarily and are more effective at diffusing potentially contentious situations rather than adding fuel to the flames.CONS:- Drinks - the selection is VERY limited. The only have one beer option (Corona) and the liquor options are a bit to be desired. As a whiskey/bourbon guy, the closest option that matches my preferences is Crown Royal. Also, if youre looking for a cheap night out, this isnt the place for you. Expect to pay $15 for cocktails.- Layout - there are couches and tables in the center of the club for those who reserved bottle service. There are no ropes, stanchions or any other barrier used to segregate those groups from the general audience so it makes for cramped quarters and frustration in the battle for personal space. I understand that these tables are money makers for the club but it is such a drag on the experience for everyone else.
Great spot. No complaints. Bouncers were extra careful to search everyone entering which honestly makes me feel a little better.
Horrible experience. $40 cover. Staff extremely rude, specifically AJ. Place was EMPTY on a Saturday at 10:30. Club was not even open was just lounge.
Tried giving it a second chance after a terrible first experience since friends wanted to go there for New Years last night, couldve guessed the entire night from my first visit. A group of 15 of us buy tickets and get there around 10:50 to wait in line. The girls that were with us single got in right away, the rest of us are in the same exact spot of the line an hour later so decided to leave as to see the ball at least drop. During our time in line the staff continuously changed their mind on yelling for us to move forward or to back up. Our girlfriends went up to see what the wait was about to the bouncers and they said they could let them in but no guys. Again your staff is sexist and your company is immoral to sell more tickets than the amount of people you can fit inside. There was a good 50 people waiting in line for nearly an hour in the rain to start the new year. No none of us are ever giving you money again.
Worst experience ever. Have been to multiple clubs in Boston and have never been refused service because I had a drawstring bag. But all the females with purses get let in. Mind you purses have multiple places to hid stuff and I only have one spot in the drawstring bag. I get the bag checked and proceed to get pat down than a random guard comes out of nowhere and says bags arent allowed. Sounds like a complete contradiction to me.
HORRABLE. I feel bad for the staff. The poor girls stand around the table and the immigrant staff workers hand out paper towels in the bathroom. There’s NO HOOKAH. Security took my weed even though it’s legal now.(-)4 stars. There are better places to go. This place needs new licensing, management, and owner cause clearly he has no clue how to run a club lmao.
The new bouncers at Bijou are extremely disrespectful. Yesterday my friend was getting into Bijou with another friend who had a table. She goes frequently as do I. There was a lot of people at the entrance, as per usual, and one of the bouncers pushed my friend to the floor of the sidewalk. His flashlight fell on her face and left her with a swollen lip. She had about 5 witnesses who told her she should tell the police. We decided not to pursue any legal matters but it isnt okay to be treated this way. She wasnt disrupting the peace and women shouldnt be pushed to the ground, let along be bruised by staff. As someone who has been going to Bijou for almost 4 years, Im extremely dissapointed. Guess Ill have to start going to Icon.
Worst place to go in Boston. The bouncers will seperate you from your friends for no reason. They do not deserve your dime. Go to hava
We were 2 groups- one of their uber arrived earlier; the one uber arrived later; but the guard did not allow us in to get with the group! I think they are very inconsiderate and rude! They need to replace their guards for sure
Bouncers are rude and disrespectful to women. They make inappropriate comments assuming women are under the influence and won’t comprehend the situation. They abuse their position and ruin the experience for the female guests.
We made a previous attempt to go to bijou back in August and had a very similar experience again. We had already purchased tickets online, were forced to wait in line for over an hour in the pouring rain, and we were never let in. More tickets were sold than they were capable of letting in. Also, bijou is the most sexist place I have come across in Boston. One of our other female friends attempted to talk to the bouncer to let us in. He said he would but ONLY us girls, the guys were not allowed. Overall, awful service, unfair, unprofessional, and sexist.
There is a way to treat customers. The bouncers are rude and disrespectful. I would not recommend giving your money to a place that does not respect who is paying.
Small, way overpriced. Get locked in if you show up when doors open at 10. No smoking till 1230. Only 1 beer brand served. Sound not the greatest either. Not impressed at all
Worst light show in Boston, good djs too bad the lights take so much from it. Also $7 for the jackets… drinks 2.2/5
Too small with creepy security staff and employees inside
Worst experience I’ve ever had at a club. Bouncer at the front door checking ID tonight 1/12/19 was practically a crackhead. Asbestos on the ceiling so I left after buying my $20 drink DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Great venue with a great management team. They put in a lot of work to ensure your nightclub experience is the best. Sound system is also pretty bumpin 🔥
We have love it The DJ is from Turkey and very nice music
Girls where hesitant to approach us even tho we are ok with them being there for us.
Went there early with a group of girl friends to pay $35 to be the only ones standing around in the club lol. Just to find out others paid less to get in. I hope the doormen got yummy snacks with the money they pocketed from us lol.
I was there on Saturday having a great time until i wake up the next day with burnt marks on my chest from whatever the cold smoke was blowing out. I’m assuming dry ice. Don’t know why they would out that in there
Very small, VIP tables in a terrible location.
I went on November 11th, the second DJ was amazing! DJ Bsaad was amazing!!!
GM and head security has a (black) capacity after a certain amount. We sat in line while he let in all the pretty little white women. Mino0rities go elsewhere basically . I was told to try venu
They made us pay $35 to get in while they didn’t charge others the same price or any price at all. The blonde female manager was rude when we tried to discuss it with her. Goodbye
Nice place to meet up with friends for a night out. Good drinks. Parking was not so easy.
WORST NIGHT EVER!!! Had to stand in line outside, stand in line to get up the stairs, then stand in line to get into the main club area. The staff and security are RUDE!!! I work too hard for my money to give it to anyone or any business who dont respect it or me. You will never get my money, I dont care if Jesus is hosting.
Bouncers didnt let me in because I had asian flush from a drink from dinner. Felt pretty racist, but I guess I dodged a bullet after looking at the reviews here.
Don’t go there! The coat check staff STOLE my AirPods! If you don’t wanna lose your wallet, AirPods or anything valuable, DONT check your coat there!
Awful experience. Rude bouncers and bartenders, overpriced drinks. DJ played the same songs over and over again. Biggest waste of money and time.
Every time I visit Bijou it’s a fantastic night. They consistently bring in outstanding talent, the atmosphere is awesome and their bottle service is great 🍾
Thieves. Showed up, no one in the spot. They said it’d be no problem if I took a walk. “Gm” said otherwise when I got back. Save some money and spend with someone who cares about their clients.
20 floors up in my apartment I can hear their horribly loud base and music when Im trying to sleep after my long hospital shifts. Its ridiculous we can hear this music 20 floors up.
The music is insane, their DJ lineup is always spot on.
Awful experience. Honestly, dont waste your time. Bouncers are rude and clearly unhappy with their personal lives. Its dirty, overpriced, and scummy. Go elsewhere.
They draw very good electronic artists and thats why some tickets get expensive, the main artist starts from 12-2.
They hold the line to make it appear like the place is packed. The DJ was awesome, pricey drinks. Restrooms were clean.
By far, best sound system in the Boston club scene. The atmosphere is very cool and a great place to see a DJ.
Worst club I ever been to the bouncers are bums, a bunch of disgruntled under paid workers I guess thats what I should expect from a group of uneducated bums. Save your money and time go somewhere else.
Great service and music. Tuesdays are the best!
The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because they bring some of my favorite artists. Sometimes, I even feel bad for them even coming here to play. Learn to run a club...
Nice club but dont plan on going out to get some air once you go in. They have very little space to let people out to smoke
Favorite night club in Boston.Always on top with DJs, ambiance and drinks!
Great place if you want to listen to hip-hop on a Saturday night decent size club very square shaped if you are into dancing to reggae this may not be the place for you
Extremely overpriced. Business built on taking advantage of the lack of clubs in Boston to be sleazy and earn money with sexist principles.
Shi tty and dirty. Do not go to this s hit hole. Staff is unfriendly, was of a weekend
Just as bad as every Boston club
Waste of a star; most difficult and exclusive club to get into and its not even that great. Terrible service. Not recommended unless you wish treated like trash.
Favorite club in Boston!! best atmosphere & bottle service! Only place to be at on a Saturday night
Such a fun environment!! Had so much fun and great music! Great service as well!!
Just a bad club. Pricing aside, the club is boring with bad music and poorly trained staff.
Awful scene, Terrrible bouncers. Waste of time.
Really nice club with great acts on Friday, proper dance music, a quality sound system, and a great night out in Boston!
Lively
TERRIBLE! Went to the A Boogie wit da Hoodie special night and he didn’t even show up. $25 went to waste
Awesome vibe - good crowd. Fun DJs and wild light shows. Will be back, for sure.
Starting to get some really good Friday night bookings. Staff is still pretty rude, but less often.
Awful drinks, awful music. Dead roaches all over the place. Much better options in the area.
Do you guys have a coat check?
Come here for proper electronic music not bullshit top 40 remixes. One of the only decent clubs in Boston
Staff was rude and unhelpful. The website is also misleading. Oh and the cover was $100. I wouldnt recommend this place to any one.
Worst bar ever. Racist. They didnt even let us im bc one of my friends couldnt speak English
Very crowded, mediocre music performance, drink prices as you would expect
Good place to drink and dance off the week. Can be sketchy at times
Fun times. Drinks a bit pricy but thats what you get in posh night clubs
I honeslty didnt like this place. I have been a couple of times thinking it was just a bad night but its just not great in general.
Its empty and they charge you a lot..
The place is not worth it. Very rude people at the entrance and expensive tickets to get in. Music is awful.
Everytime I go out and come here I am lit, the dj is lit and my night is lit.
By far the worst club in BostonTerrible service, sound, and viewing areaAlso no re-entey
Claptone was out of this world!! We are grateful for the experience!!
Worst club I have ever been in my life.
Nice place and friendly workers but overpriced and the music is sub par.
Bad service and place was empty as usual.
Worst place in BostonLine awfullDrinks expensiveStaff meanTo avaoid!!
Had an excellent night here!
I lost a black little purse yesterday, did anyone find it by any chance? 06/25
Beautiful bottles girls! Loveeee the music!
Fantastic music, good clientele, nice venue, very happy!
Racist and rude bouncers, terrible management

Nice music venue. Overpriced drinks.
Lit night club with too much emphasis on security

Good atmosphere, international music.
Great djs, pricey tho!
