Great small venue with excellent food, friendly staff, and a great selection of mixed drinks with creative names. This used to be an adult store years ago, and some of the art and menu items reflect its history. LOVE IT!The concert area in the lower section wasnt overcrowded, and you are up close and personal to the entertainment for a very reasonable cost.
First time there. It is different with the upstairs and downstairs.I sat upstairs and had a great view of Led Zeppelin 2, they blew the roof off the place!!I had the pepperoni pizza and it was delicious.Service was excellent. The only thing I didnt care for was this:I had reserved seats for the show but when I got there I was told there were people at my table eating so I had to wait until about 15 minutes before the show started to get my seat.Great place and Ill be back for another show!!
What a fantastic gem. It was tricky to find, but once you do, you are in for a treat. The Chicken Biscuits & Gravy was not too shabby and the Brothel Chicken Sandwich was fantastic. While waiting for your food, take in the brothel-esque atmosphere in this Victorian brownstone and a live show, if you time your visit right.
Wow. 5 stars is not enough. I’m literally here right now for the Mahalia concert & I couldnt wait to write a review. I scheduled a reservation for dinner prior to the show. It’s restaurant week & I had the Brussel sprouts, chicken and waffles & churros… I can’t even use words that sufficiently describe the flavor palette. This was honestly the best restaurant food I’ve ever had. The staff is BEYOND kind & overly accommodating. They take the time to actually converse and build rapport and have excellent service. I don’t know how they do it. The food, again, is spectacular. The venue aesthetic is so unique and comforting. 10,000/10 would recommend!
Oh my goodness! If I could, I would give this place MORE than 5 stars! Live music, bottomless mimosas, AMAZING Bloody Mary. You absolutely can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Staff was incredibly friendly. Our order was perfect. Service was spot on. Restaurant was very clean!Perfect place for friends to meet or for date night. Probably not the vibe for families or young children.
I had a mom fail. I brought my elementary age kids to Cartoon Morning brunch. I was absolutely into it. My youngest was not. We only managed the appetizer. The waitress was extremely kind when I told her I misjudged the situation and we needed to cash out. I would definitely return, but without my kids.
We had a great time at brunch. The brunch offering was just what we wanted and the drinks were on point. Our reservation was for a stage level table for 3, but when we arrived that was not available. However, the hostess asked if it was acceptable to seat us in a different area. We agreed and were sat on the top level above the stage which was great! We were able to see the dj and Stranger Things on the projection screen just fine. The table service provided by Goldie was exceptional, thank you! We really enjoyed our Brunching up that hill experience, and would love to come back again for brunch or a show.
Live music with a (purely) historic gastro brothel atmosphere. Not the best vegetarian options for brunch. Definitely get their Brussels appetizer - flame. Servers were pretty busy so they were unable to frequent our table. Highly recommend the mezzanine booths!Pictures: Brussels, crunch wrap supreme, the hash (with ribs replaced by avocado, pretty flavorless without the meat).
Food and drinks were great! Service was above average, and the atmosphere was amazing! Great place for a date or a unique night on the town.
This place holds a special place in our hearts now. We watched Phipps of STS9 making a tribute to Valerie! All love. Very intimate venue with a cool vibe. Food looked great however we didn’t try. Bar lines take a little too long but it’s ok given the space they have to work with. Next time we will reserve a tables upstairs or the side of the first floor!
Amazing vibe here for our Mother’s Day, Mothers only brunch! Lol Incredible food, electric atmosphere, and friendly service. The DJ played a nice mix of alternative rock songs from the 90’s at the perfect volume for immersing yourself in the whole experience while still being able to converse with those at your table. Our table reported the Smash burger was fresh and tasty and so was the Brunchwrap Benny! I tend to try the eggs Benedict just about everywhere I go, and this was a most interesting twist on a traditional favorite. The home fries deserve a mention as well. And…….Can’t go wrong with the bottomless mimosas! We will definitely be back.
Awesome environment. Bottomless mimosas were the real deal. Went for the Daft Punk brunch and got the chicken and waffles. Kinda small portions, but taste and presentation was on point
The bottomless mimosas are the best! The music is fun! Food is good. Very good vibe. I went here for my birthday and also bring friends who visit! Fun time.
We came for a Sunday brunch during my sister’s bachelorette weekend and had a blast! I ordered the standard breakfast and the ricotta blintz and it was all delicious. Our servers were so sweet and even brought out a bottle of champagne and a shot for the bride to help us celebrate! The live DJ was perfect for an upbeat brunch. We sat downstairs near the stage and were still able to chat without yelling, perfect volume. Will definitely be back!
This place is BEAUTIFUL! The service was prompt and my server knew the menu and made great suggestions. Today was Motown that started at 7 pm. There is a variety of Happy Hour. I would suggest anyone who wants a sexy dinner--alone or with a partner--come here. Look online, every night is a different musical selection.
Such a wonderful experience on a hectic day! Denver was full of st patty ridiculousness but Ophelias was so chill! Our bartenders Brandon, Sheridan, and Vanessa were so wonderful. The food was so good and the staff recommended the perfect food and drink pairings! Also music was amazing. This place rules! 😎😎😎
I can only speak of my own experience. We went there for food, but didn’t realize they only have drink and appetizers menu till 5:30? Or 6? But it totally worked out for us. We didn’t get any drinks, but the pizza was GOOD! Crispy thin crust pizza is my favorite! You can tell it was freshly made and the ingredients are fresh too!!! My friend got the gluten free one, and he says it tastes better than the regular dough. The small burger bites are just alright, it was a little dry and not that flavorful. The price for happy hour is good and reasonable. Heard they have good shows in the night. I think I’m willing to give this place a try for a real dinner.
What a great date night spot! Unfortunately, I wasn’t on a date, but I visited Ophelia’s for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was very quiet given I went on a Friday early afternoon, but there was a DJ playing as well as Avatar projected onto the large screen (weird, but I’m into it).Our server was very nice, welcoming, and attentive. We ordered the verme brûlée French toast to start, since it sounded amazing. We were not let down. Delicious, must try dish. We also had the chicken and waffles, the bison burger, and an order of cornbread all of which were very yummy. The portions were adequate and we all loved our dishes. We also opted to take advantage of the bottomless mimosa deal. The only drawback there is that they were served in regular large water glasses instead of flutes, this diminished the playful and detailed atmosphere that the rest of the experience provided.
Absolutely incredible! Everything we ordered exceeded expectations!!! The atmosphere was comfortable. What an amazing spot! Definitely have yo check it out
The atmosphere is quite cool, but the food is only ok. You’d be better off getting brunch elsewhere if you’re going for quality food, especially considering the price. Additionally there is a mandatory 3% surcharge on the bill prior to an automatic mandatory 20% tip. We were not made aware of this until our total bill came. Just raise the menu prices by 3% instead of having this deceptive pricing scheme. Very disappointing to see, especially when single entries are already $20+
Such a fun atmosphere for brunch. The live music was a real treat and we loved sitting beside each other on the upper level. The food was good but what really earns this place 5 stars and beyond was the incredible scone we had for dessert. Our waiter was nice enough to ask the chef how she made them so unbelievably amazing and Ive been able to take my homemade scones to the next level.
Ophelia’s has a great atmosphere, friendly service. Live music was amazing. Decor inspired and created by older pulp fiction books. The pinup naughtiness is adds to the playful side of the menu which presents classic dishes. Some dishes like the open BLT are undressed and elevated while others like the strawberry shortcake ice cream pop surprise you with ingredients like goat cheese. This reimagined kid favorite was the star of brunch. It was amazing! Quality and freshness in the ingredients. Cocktails were also very good. The burlesque and Bloody Mary shown. Parking was easy to find when we went during later end of brunch service
I have to be honest here even though it kind of hurts. I went there Sunday for my Birthday brunch. My fond memories of Ophelias led me to choose it as a place to celebrate. Cool building, great history and creative menu all promised to make this a wonderful event. Unfortunately, that didnt happen. I mean no one cried, and the food was edible. The service was lackadaisical. The food was meh at best. I like spicy food. Having said that... A good plate has spicy and cool. If you just slam spicy on top of spicy and add more spice it gets uncomfortable and boring. Right? Boring spicy? But it happened. I even asked for ketchup to eat the fingerling potatoes because my mouth needed help. The Bloody Mary mix is over the top too damn spicy and no warning on the menu about that. They were kind enough to trade the bloody out for a Mimosa but even that was boring. Served in a large plastic tumbler poured out of a plastic pitcher at room temp. I get that Denver loves a good power day drunk, but come on.I did enjoy the cappuccino. I hope this was just a bad day... But I wont be heading back soon. Sorry Ophelias. This just made me sad.
The food is good, but if youre looking for vegan options I would probably go elsewhere. Most of their vegan items are just them removing ingredients from vegetarian dishes... and yet you still pay the same price. Would love to see them lean into their vegan options a bit more, and have dedicated vegan desserts!
Food was okay. The pork belly wasnt as tender as I thought it would have been. And the slider was pretty tough. And it was kind of pricey for the quantity that you get. Each on of the things we ordered was at least $16 and look at the portion size. I guess you have to pay a lot for the atmosphere which was pretty cool. Definitely has the hipster vibe
Love this spot, not the healthiest of brunch options but quality and a lot of effort put in by the chefs being part of the group with linger etc. All of the seats that can see the stage are great, bottomless mimosas. Only minor issue was ordering the biscuits and gravy and there was no sauce at all, had to ask for some and they charged $5 for it. Its kind of an important part of the dish so that its not dry biscuit, felt they should have fixed the issue rather than charge for gravy that they didnt give enough of.
Went here for brunch since they were doing a beastie boy special. The food was actually very good. Recommend the Nacho pizza, as it was very tasty. Also had the cruchwrap benedict which was also tasty, the salad that came with it was the best part. Now the reason I wont be returning is the lack of service and the terrible drinks. Had the bloody mary and espresso martini. The marys skewer had a garlic clove, okra and a grape. It was very unsatisfactory and left much to be desired. The martini was mediocre at best, being heavy on the alcohol does not always mean better. Then the lack of service really sealed the deal on this review. The beastie boy music was fire.
We had an enjoyable time at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox last night for dinner and a show. We went to see Kool Keith. Ophelia’s have been closed during the pandemic and only reopened about a month ago. The layout of the venue is awesome. There is plenty of room to sit and eat or drink, while also having a large enough dance floor to accommodate. The set-up is comfortable and spacious. To eat, we shared the Elote Spring Cheese Incident for an appetizer. Then my girlfriend had the 3 Bean Burrata Salad which was filling and very fresh. The dressing was very savory. I had the Low Country Flat Bread which had the perfect balance of sweet and heat.
I got the chicken & waffles unsure of what to expect. I was blown away with the quality, presentation, and flavor of the whole dish. Each bite was something new and exciting. Ill definitely eat here again. My only negative was that the bar had no sense of urgency to give me a menu or take my order. Other than that, I had a fantastic time! I definitely recommend this place.
Wicked venue with a great sound system. Saw one of my all-time favourite DJs there this past weekend. Did not disappoint. Cant wait to go back!
Came for Denver restaurant week - Overall great food and amazing service! Desiree was super friendly and accommodating. Would return for the good vibes and friendly service plus fun shows to watch depending on the night you come!
This is a very small club within a historical building with boutique decor. No one is very far from the stage. The balcony doesnt have great sightlines unless you were close to the rail, but there was video projection of the band above the stage so you didnt have to stress about it.There was a basketball and baseball game when we went, so we parked too far away and paid too much for parking. I dont have any advice on that front!
If youre a music enthusiast seeking an unforgettable EDM experience in Denver, look no further than Ophelias. One of the standout features of Ophelias is undoubtedly its electric atmosphere and interesting layout. The lowest floor is a dance floor and the top floor is a tastefully appointing dining area and bar. Its easy to stick around this joint for an entire night with great food and friendly patrons. The DJ lineup is consistently top-notch, they feature great local talent and headliners who know how to keep the dance floor alive.Whatever type of music you are into, Ophelias plays a wide range of genres, ensuring theres something for everyone. The sound system is excellent and your ears wont be hurting. One irritating issue is that the credit card system is really slow, and is something that they should address. Using a mesh wifi network for something as critical as CC payment is a no-no in my books.Drinks are affordable and service has been great! Definitely worth a stop if you are visiting!
Had an amazing experience for Denver restaurant week! The food was amazing also no bad seats in this place. We also had the sweetest waitress (Desiree) who was attentive and accommodating. We loved everything about this place..would highly recommend for good food n vibes
This place is a DREAM!!! Such fun decor and people, amazing performance space, delicious food and drinks with so many options and accomodations. It really feels like a rare local gem that is disappearing in most cities. Denver is lucky to have Ophelias!
We visited Denver for the 1st time over Labor Day weekend. On one visit to a local brew house, Tap XIV to be exact, we stopped in to drink a beer and ponder where we would have dinner. Our waitress, Perry asked us where we were headed. We told her some of our thoughts, and she shook her head no a few times and said, you need to go to Ophelias, trust me. Well after we finished our beers, we headed off to find it and OMG, it was the best food we had all weekend! Duck meatballs and the Plantains are a must try. The setup and atmosphere are really funky and laid back. The service was prompt and attentive, the food was very creative and outside the box, and the cocktails were very well done. We had already decided before this that Denver is now one of our favorite places, this just added to it!
The food here is incredible, both my partner and I were super happy with three of the four things we ordered. The chips with the dip we got were waaay too salty, but seriously the other three items were sooo good that I wasnt even mad about the chips. Super friendly service as well, we sat at the bar and they were nice and took good care of us up there. Unique vibe as well, I would love to come back and check out a show here.
I came here for a Digable Planets show on Saturday night. I am not from the Denver area so this was my 1st time at this venue. I purchased the most inexpensive seats which are the mezzanine level up stairs without a designated seating area outside of being at the bar. You cant see anything other then the screen projected above the stage. If you are OK with watching a live feed of your favorite artist or band playing then these seats are perfect for you. The bathrooms on the mens side move quickly with 6 urinals available for use. The ladies side seemed to move quickly too.
Went here for brunch with a group of friends and the food did not disappoint!! Every single one of us enjoyed what we ordered – their menu is very unique! Really cool atmosphere, too, with live music. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a trendy brunch place. Super glad we had a reservation though; the line was out the door!
The food and service was pretty good. We tried all 3 of the main entrees and enjoyed them all. However, we ordered 3 drinks off the valentines day menu and they were all quite unenjoyable. The drinks tasted very cheap were not well mixed. One had a mass of what felt like hersheys chocolate syrup that settled into the bottom after a couple minutes so we didnt finish. The other tasted like plastic bottle vodka. Both were very disappointing for $13 a piece drinks.Again food and service were good but dont go there for drinks.
My girlfriend and I had our anniversary dinner here. They paid so much attention to detail and made it so special for us. Wished us a happy anniversary when we arrived (put a note in the reservation) and on our way out. Our server was great. Gave us a very funny and unique desert.Love this atmosphere and everything they have to offer. The venue downstairs is really great too. Highly recommend this place!
First time in Denver had a friend recommend this place. We got in a little later than planned. Desiree our server was super freindly and on top of it. She also gave us alot off ideas on what to do in the area. I couldnt ask for a better experience. I will definitely be returning in the future. Also get the brussel sprouts
Excellent restaurant, superb food, and impeccable service!! (and the male servers look impeccably cute 😉 so do tip generously) Quaint dining venue with 1st level GA for concerts, nice table settings and 2nd level with seating alongside its balconys railing. There are stools around the bar and elsewhere. Their bar had great, knowledgeable bartenders (for you Gen Zs that means, Mixologist) lol 👏 Prepare for an average price of $65 with a drink + tax/tip Whatever food and price you decide on, its certainly most worth it. You wont be disappointed!
I absolutely loved this place. Attended a concert performed by an awesome local band with a New Orleans Jazzy vibe. The food and drinks are a little pricey but its worth the experience. I wouldnt go there every night to grab a drink - but when Im up for a fancy one theres not much better in Denver. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience. We walked in on a Saturday around 11am, and they took a little while to seat us, but recognized that the wait was a little long and gave us a great table overlooking the band, and some complimentary yogurt apps We tried the chicken and waffles and the plaintain and cacao pancakes. Both were excellent. Cool setup, would recommend trying to get a seat overlooking the band downstairs. Very cool vibe.
Friends and I did a lil brunch on St. Paddy’s day and had an absolute ball. Food was great, music was great, and Desiree our server was delight and made the experience so fun!
Had brunch; super cool vibe, great music, very fun cocktails and amazing food. However, hostess kept the front door open which made it very cool for those seated along that side of the stage. Everyone was putting coats on. I would have loved to have enjoyed more cocktails but couldnt wait to wrap it up as it was so cold. Not very cozy given how cozy the vibe is.
Second time here. First time for Random Rab show on the floor. Second time Valentines Day and food was delicious. They thought entrees took too long, which I didnt even notice, until they brought out complimentary green Chile corn bread which was phenomenal. Definitely recommend to anyone for a dinner night out at any show and to your preferred music if youre on the floor!
We went for brunch and it did not impress me. Im not a fan of places that seem to be so popular that brunch is treated like an assembly line. While our server was very nice and attentive, the mimosas were fairly terrible ( it seems to come from a giant vat so each pur tastes like its been sitting out for hours . Mimosas should be made/mixed fresh ). Thats a big negative for me. I want to enjoy my mimosas. The food was decent, but nothing new or even eye catching . Im willing to try it one more time, during regular hours as the menu looks awesome..but brunch for us is one and fone due to its underwhelming nature
Great place to go and enjoy some music, cocktails and food with friends. The tables can be a bit weird as they have a lot of bar style seats to maximize visibility of the stage. Get cozy with your neighbors.Food is okay. Both times I have been, the expo told me the wrong dish name as I got served, which is kind of funny. For some reason, their bottomless iced tea came in a disposable cup (two, because I got a refill). This is kind of a deal breaker for me, as waste reduction is one of my top priorities when choosing a place to dine at. The manager at the hostess stand was kind of shocked by this as well, so hopefully this is not a regular practice...As a person from Hawaii, I do not recommend the loco Moco poutine. It is a blasphemy on the loco Moco name.Good plantains and breakfast potatoes
Great service, food, and ambiance. Perfect choice for brunch. Food choices for every palate and bottomless mimosas. Yeah!
Love Ophelia’s. Went here for a weekend lunch date to hear jazz, drink mimosas and eat delectable food. The cornbread app was delicious!
We went to Emo Brunch and I was so pleasantly surprised with both the level of service and the quilaity of food. Sometimes themed brunches dont have the best food, but everything from the jalapeño cornbread to the chicken biscuits was absolutely delicious. I didnt catch our servers name, but he and the food runners were top notch!
This place was really rad and the food was so delicious. The staff was all really friendly, except for the hostess. She was the rudest person I have ever met - such an attitude for asking for a walk in 5 top. This would be 5 stars if it werent for how bad she was - still upset as I write this a day later. Otherwise, this place is a must go to.
We saw the Chef Showdown tonight and had a great time! Our server Jake made our experience amazing. We’ll be back for the finals!
Love this place! Desiree was amazing, so kind and had the best recommendations. One of the best spots for a burger in town :) also very allergy-friendly
Excellent food and service. Drinks come out a little slow. The sound is awesome. Love this place.
Jake was a great waiter! Really made it more fun having him around at chef competition night. Would come back and ask for him!!
Jake hosted a fantastic evening for us for the chef throw down. I had an amazing time experiencing this event for the first time! I will definitely come back for the future rounds!!
The food and ambiance are good! I highly recommend the Cuban Plantains! The service was terrible. $15 wine in an airplane plastic cup. 1 hours for my steak to come out; it wasnt busy at all. Sheridan was very nice but the rest of the team could use some training in client experience...
This is a gorgeous venue! We didn’t eat when we went, though the drinks were great. We went for a concert (Dessa, for those interested) and I loved how weird and kitschy the whole venue was. The back wall of the stage is made from old radios and stereo systems and is so stunning, the art on the walls is well done and clearly designed to bring joy. The sound was incredible, I was pleased with the quality, and the crowd was pleasantly respectful.
Interesting place with some infamous history. We decided to check it out while we were waiting for a GABF session. We came in while not much was going on (slow time), no reservations, but it was no problem. We ordered a few different things, including an eggplant dish which I liked but it came out a little cold. The main dish was checken, cant remember the name of it but it was overly crispy and dry, althoug not quite burnt. Didnt really care for it. The pretzel was good. Probably a good place to watch a show and have some decent food, but the food alone was just ok so only giving it 3-4 stars although maybe its a 4 star kinda place. Ok, Ill go with that but its really more of a 3.5 stars rounded up.
What a great place for brunch! The plantain appetizer was amazing and I didn’t even think I liked plantains! The chicken and waffles were also good and the bottomless mimosas to wash it all down with was perfect. There was also live music...it doesn’t get much better than this. Oh...the salted Carmel!
Didn’t have a chance to try food but the vibe was good. Lady in red cocktail was a little syrupy but it was good
I came here during their happy hour and they have a decent selection for food and drinks. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here and the live band! This is definitely a great date night place or even a place to go with your friends. I would have given this place five stars if I wasn’t so disappointed with their food. Generally I am not picky with food and I love trying new food. I ordered the pepperoni pizza, fries, and churros. The pizza had a chili honey drizzle, but it just felt like I was just eating a sweet version of pepperoni pizza and the churros came with a mezcal infused caramel dip which was actually really good, but the churros themselves seemed a bit mushy on the inside. Overall I would like to return for the atmosphere and service, but I am not too crazy about the food.
I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show here for Pride. The place was packed! This is a fairly small venue but is well thought out and organized so it didnt seem as crowded as expected. Service wasnt great but thats not unexpected when basically everyone shows up at the same time. The drinks were fantastic; the food was... weird. Most things were unusual pairings, or maybe Im just uncultured but nothing I had was bad and there were a lot of options for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere was great and Ill definitely be back, but Ill probably grab food elsewhere. In a nutshell, great little venue for drinks but the food requires a more refined palate than I have. Still highly recommend.
Great food, great music, but oh my god they need to do something about the temperature. I know it’s a hundred year old building but it’s so cold. having to choose to be uncomfortable my whole meal in my puffy jacket or freeze my tail off isn’t exactly ideal when i go out to relax and listen to some jazz music for brunch on my day off. all in all great but the entire restaurant was wearing their coats.
A must visit for anyone in the area, whether youre a local or traveler. Live bands every night with tables for dining built around the outside on the second floor like a theater. Plus they have really good food and drinks to enjoy while there. If you want a change of pace and something different to do this is your place. Definitely going back.
I ordered the burrata toast. It was half an English Muffin with one egg and tomato. Cost $15, Insane. I was still hungry, had to go home and eat. Complete rip off
The atmosphere and food were amazing. This is a super fun place, I love how unique everything was. Lots of neat local flare like old rulers and yard sticks from old businesses in Denver and on Colfax to line all the bathroom stalls, just as an example. Just a really cool vibe. Everything on the menu looked delicious and everyone in our group was happy with their food.My only complaint (and the only reason for not giving five stars) was our waitress. She seemed genuinely irritated and frustrated with our table from the moment we sat down. We were there early for brunch and there were many open tables around us, so it wasnt that busy. One person would ask for one thing and she would run off before anyone else could order. It took her three trips for everyone in our table to get their drinks/cocktails ordered. I know sometimes people have an off day and I wouldnt let this one experience prevent me from eating here again or from recommending it to someone else, but it did put a bit of a damper on our morning.
Wonderful vegan options! Incredible ambiance!Menu hack: instead of getting the impossible burger on the menu, get the buffalo burger made vegan! Thanks to our server with aquamarine lipstick for this. It was so good—better than the impossible burger on the menu, and get the plantains. I liked them and I don’t even like Cuban style plantains (and I spent a week in Cuba).5 star service. We were seated immediately (at 5pm).To be honest the food was good, but it was just 4 stars for me. However, the ambiance was 6 stars, so it all averages out. Of all the restaurants with live music I’ve been to, Ophelia’s does it the best. We were seated on the street level, next to the stage. My photo doesn’t do it justice. I love how all the seats are laid out. The music wasn’t deafeningly loud (we could still have a conversation if we wanted) and we loved the disco ball mood lighting.I will definitely be back next time I’m in Denver.
Beware when reserving. Charged a $160 cancellation for a reservation by a very rude person on the phone who stated “You were told the policy when you made the reservation”. The policy was not mentioned during booking and at the time of booking the reason a card was required was to “hold the reservation”. A clear policy is absolutely fine but being extremely rude and making an assumption of what was said during a phone call weeks ago is unacceptable.
This place is such a vibe!!! Great service by Desiree, she was on top of our orders and was so sweet! The dj was great and I highly recommend going!!
What an absolute Denver GEM!We love coming to ophelias, whether its happy hour or catching a show, this place never disappoints. They have a wide arrange of live music across so many genres theres something for everyone.Highly recommend the chicken sandwich or the 100 year old sourdough starter pizzas,Brussels, its all amazing. Also Shout out the manager i believe his name is Matt, he really made us feel welcome. Incredible hospitality. 10/10 will keep.going back
First time here for brunch, only ever been here for shows at night. The food and cocktails were both amazing. I’ll definitely be back!
Great place for brunch! Such a fun atmosphere and excellent food. Will be back!!
Ophilias is not what you expect and thats a good thing. Try the jambalaya or their chicken and biscuits. Everything is hand made and delicious. We went to check out the bandstand which is great. They also project the band on the first floor wall in two different areas. Great seats for a concert. We are going to see bagpipes in Feb.
This place is really amazing with the atmosphere, drinks and hospitality. However I was really looking forward to their creme brûlée French toast, but I was surprisingly disappointed. I think the menu leaves room for miscommunication. The dish was in a cast iron pan and was more of a French toast casserole, which was soggy and bland. I was pleased with the side of bacon and the mimosa though.
This makes me sad to review but I feel that they need to know. I’ve been waiting to go back to Ophelia’s since they closed during the pandemic. We have a child and I just didn’t feel it was appropriate/ I wanted to relax. We finally got the chance today and I was very disappointed. Our waitress didn’t come to the table for 15 minutes. We were greeted by someone else but even she didn’t come to our table for about 10 minutes. We ordered bottomless mimosas and the last time we came, we never saw the bottom. We had to ask for refills every time. The food was ok. We always looked forward to the green chile corn bread and it was originally served in a cast iron and this time is was 3 small bites . The chicken and gravy was ok but the gravy was not gravy at all. It was chunky and thin and not flavorful. I’m very disappointed and I hope they can get it together because it used to be my favorite place.
Great brunch and yummy house cocktails. Service was super speedy.
Ummmm this is just the coolest place I eer did see! I kept wishing I was a millionaire restauranteur, so that I could bring it to Philly. We had great seats on the top floor, in a booth, facing the stage. It was so cool to be able to look around the room with such transparency, watch a large film on the screen, and take in all of the history of the spot. Ive never seen anything like it. The food was fabulous and we even got to see some live music before we left! A must see for Denver visitors.
Super fun place with awesome live music. Really unique one of a kind set up. Came in upstairs where they have a projection screen showing the stage which is immediately below along with a jumpin crowd. Drinks were on point, perfect live music environment for every type of experience whether you want to sit down at a table upstairs, sit at thr bar or get rowdy with the crowd downstairs.
Super fun place and a must try if you’re visiting! Went for brunch with a live jazz band playing, and the atmosphere is just so cool and fun. Bloody Mary was delicious, and I got the ropa vieja hash, which was soooo good! I do wish the portion was bigger, but it was really tasty. Be sure to request upstairs if you don’t wanna sit too close to the stage where it may be loud - we saw a couple people sit there and eventually ask to be moved.
Great restaurant! Good food great atmosphere, lots of fun! Would highly recommend this place
My brunch at Ophelias Electric Soapbox was a truly enjoyable experience. The food stood out for its fantastic flavors, reflecting their diverse American cuisine. What made the experience even more memorable was the live music, adding vibrancy and engagement to the atmosphere. The unique gastro-brothel setting of Ophelias, with its intriguing multi-level space, further enhanced the overall ambiance. Im eagerly anticipating my next visit to relive this delightful combination of great food and lively entertainment.
Such a cute place, good food, nice staff, good music! Going again tomorrow. Excited!
One of the best venues in town for live music. Honest people too… lost an Apple Watch and came back a month later to find they still had it!!! Rachel saved the day - thank you so much. Faith in humanity restored.
Funky little restaurant with delicious food. They have some form if entertainment almost every night. There are multiple levels for you to watch the stage from but I recommend staying up top and trying to grab a seat along the railing that looks down on the stage. If youre in Denver, Id advise you make a stop here. Also, they are vegan friendly just specify with your server when you order a marked dish.
I like the set up they have there. Restaurant up top and dancing on the lower level. The food was surprisingly good. I am hardly impressed with Denver food. Drinks were good but not amazing or wonderful but the service was great! I will definitly go back to try out more food on their menu. Another thing to note is we were seating at the VIP couch on the side of the dance floor and still able to order off the full menu.
Amazing concert venue! We paid just a little extra for reserved seats and had a GREAT view of the stage, plus great drink service. You can also get appetizers there, but we ate dinner upstairs first. The Passion Tramp drink is delicious! My husband enjoyed his jerk wings and veggie burger. I had fries for an appetizer and they were very good. I ordered the hummus for my entree, and told them I am vegan, and there wasnt much on my plate - just veggies and hummus - no flatbread as shown on the menu - surely they can come up with some sort of vegan bread, crackers, or chips? The butterscotch pudding was delicious, and again I got the vegan version, but only missed out on a small cookie garnish this time. They are definitely vegan friendly but could be friendlier! But we will return - it is a beautiful restaurant and aa wonderful concert venue!
Its a VERY charming place, particularly for live music. It is a bit cramped no matter where you are so expect to be cozy. For brunch I found the menu dreadful, and for the company party the buffet food was good but not notable. The bar staff seems disinterested and standoffish, and the wait staff only marginally better. The bathrooms are very nice, and clean.Go with people you like, go to see music you like, soak up the atmosphere of the building and structure - and youll have a good time!
Staff were very friendly! Food was great! Atmosphere was fun, drinks were good!
Came for tori kelly concert . The venue was nice & had an air conditioner. It was super packed, but I feel I was able to still be comfortable. The workers could have been a little friendlier. We tried the Beer they suggested ( ballroom beer) & I personally didnt like it. I didnt drink it at all, to be honest. So that was a bummer. The restrooms were very clean & very designed . The overall place was well taken care of lots of room for the number of people it can fit. There was an upstairs that had table seating which your still able to watch the performer from where your sitting. It was very nice & tori kelly was amazingggg!!
Birthday brunches beware!! I’ll have a hard time returning here after the poor experience I had here as a guest for a friends birthday. We were really enjoying the place - good food music and service. I asked the sound tech if they do birthday song requests and he said yes just approach the band in between songs. When I did so the lead singer called me out publicly in front of the entire restaurant that it was rude to “ruin the set by approaching the stage”. I told him his sound tech told me to approach, but he didn’t listen. I returned to my table completely off put, only to have them sing happy birthday later and try to get my attention on microphone while I sat at a table on the second story. Management said sorry on the phone later but did nothing to fix our experience while we were there. Probably not worth spending $500 again here.
Awesome music venue, very average restaurant. The stage and viewing area are epic but we were a bit let down by our meal. That said, its more music than food focused so I am only removing one star. If you are going for a band you like, you will not be let down! Probably best to not go just for a burger though :)
This place is amazing when there is live music! Love that you can request upstairs or downstairs when reserving a table. Went for Sunday brunch and was packed until about 2:00 pm. Smash burgers were delicious but wish they had lettuce and tomato. The bottomless mimosas were not our favorite. Must have been the champagne. You could not drink a lot of it. I wish I had just ordered off their amazing drink menu instead. Plenty of options. Dont forget to tip the musician! Love ophelias for weekend bunch! A great place to go with just a few people or even a large group.
Great service and amazing atmosphere! Such a fun place to go! Food was delicious and drinks were so good. My only complaint would be I didn’t find this place sooner! :)
Its always a great time for brunch. Service is always on point. The food here is amazing. Theres variety and a taste of confront food. They also take a play on modern dishes as well. This is one of my favorite brunch spots here in colorado. They offer live shows throughout the month, and the brunch mimosa arent bad either.
Please go! From the structure of the building, to the live music, the atmosphere of this place gives you the nostalgia of a lowkey grunge/jazz club entwined with pinup and boudoir scenery. Ask anyone in house about this place’s history—I won’t spoil the intricacies, but it *should* give incentive to take the elevator. The food? Phenomenal! I thought I didn’t like chimichurri sauce until I had it on the smashed potatoes with the bison—l i f e c h a n g i n g experience in both the quality and tenderness of the bison and the composition of the plate! If you’re looking for an aesthetically pleasing drink, try the French Kiss! Every aspect of this place is incredible; the staff, customers it welcomes and performances that grace the stage are all a force to be reckoned with! It’s the first place I’m visiting when I head back to Denver.
I went here for a show on NYE, so I cant speak for the food or the restaurant. As far as venues go, this prob the BEST spot for imersive and intimate shows in the whole Denver metro!!! Its small, some might say tiny, but thats part of what makes thus venue soooooo amazing!!! Seriously would give 10 stars if I could, and writing an article about it for the music site I help run! Thank you Ophelias, and Party Guru, for the BEST NYE of my 37 years on this earth so far!!!
Ive had an Awesome time everytime i go. I have seen multiple shows there. Very intimate shows. The service is some of the best Ive had, bartenders are all awesome the menu is great my favorite is the pizza.
Such a fun, unique place! Love going for the food, atmosphere, and live shows 🖤
Bring back chicken and waffles! Went for the second time tonight and had the chicken and biscuits and gravy instead! Otherwise amazing place to go out, great food, service, and vibes! Drew is the best bartender there hands down! Give that guy a raise, you know he deserves it and more!
Absolutely love this place. Super unique atmosphere. Awesome cocktails, cool and friendly bartenders and their free music nights are amazing!!
Fantastic venue to catch a show and have some craft cocktails. Whether dancing to music at Lipgloss or taking in a concert its always a great time. Cheers!
Desiree was the best! Just a great experience. Will definitely come back every time I’m in Denver.
Went there for brunch on a Saturday with a party of 6. This place is super cool, great atmosphere 👌! But the appetizer portions are laughingly small for their price, the entrees were good, and the burger was probably the best entree on our table (pretty amazing actually). But their Bloody Mary was subpar, mediocre at best (dont let them tell you how amazing their mix is, its really not that good). But go for the atmosphere, stay away from their miniscule appetizers, and get their burger with a beer, and youll have a great time without feeling ripped off!
So foolishly we went around 11:00. I think they closed at midnight. We did get to see a hair of the performance. The venue was nice. However every table was dirty. I get it… almost closed but there wasn’t a single clean available table. Otherwise I’ll try again at an earlier time.
Great place ,,but the mix drinks are expensive and very weak..will never order again,,
Great food, great service, awesome atmosphere. Went for a David Bowie DJ d brunch and will definitely go back to see live music! It is housed in an old converted brothel with fun decor. We sat on the mezzanine with a great view down to the stage.
Went for the food throw down final for my first time at Ophelias and did not leave disappointed with any of it. You even got samples of Lemon Verbena Ice Cream! Everything is five stars like their sibling locations are in the food portfolio of this group. The plantains and the brussel sprouts really are something to behold and have, especially while watching two master chefs battle it out on the main stage with unknown ingredients. The ambiance and atmosphere really is awesome and love the yardstick decor in the restroom. Yes, the restrooms were called out! The history of the building is noted tastefully and is beautifully kept from yesteryear. Will be looking to visit again and taste more of the mouth watering menu while enjoying the time there.
Love this place. Amazing food, great drinks, lovely atmosphere but the general manager thinks he has a much power in this establishment as Kim Jong Un has in North Korea. He needs to get over himself and not cut off people after a couple drinks that aren’t causing any problems. 👍🏼Ophelias 👎🏼GM
Absolutely phenomenal experience at Ophelia’s. Our party was huge and we had time constraints (it was a bachelor/bachelorette party and we needed to get to our booze cruise). They took such good care of us, respecting our timing despite our huge group and gave us a wonderful, private table without even requesting it. Food and drinks were incredible! I’m so happy I chose Ophelia’s to celebrate!! Thank you for making the celebration a huge hit!!
An extremely well planned out small music venue! Saw Eric Gales there, the sound was great! The smoking area on the back porch has a projector and speakers that play what is is going on, on the stage. Look forward to seeing more shows there.
Love Ophelias! Last time I went the folks there went above and beyond to reunite me with a beloved lost item. Thank you!!
Fun/chill atmosphere. Food was very good with very friendly staff
First time here. Did not disappoint. 🎉We saw a live band. $50friend. We know a member who sent the information. We had a blast. The Decor grabbed me the minute I walked in. I found myself touching things. Staring closer.🤣. We had a pizza called the Michelangelo.😋😋. My 1st time eating kale. On a pizza! Bro it had Chicken with some savory sauce. It went to fast for a photo.🤣.
I was so happy 😊 to come here to sit and watch Judith Hill perform here last year. Me and my friend really needed to have some place special to escape to on a Thursday night. The food was fabulous , their chicken and waffles 🧇 😋 😍 👌 will not disappoint you. Make sure when you buy youre tickets you should also call them to reserve the table your tickets are for. To avoid moving yourself around. The chairs could be more comfortable to sit for an extended about of time.
