My brother and I came to The Grizzly Rose for shows on both Friday & Saturday night. The music was fantastic, but thats not what stood out to me. It was the service. You see, my brother loves music, especially country. He also happens to have Down syndrome. Every single worker, from the front door bouncer to the ticket booth staff to stage security and bartenders, were simply amazing. They gave him a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you, Grizzly Rose staff for being top notch in every possible way and making these Philly visitors so very happy. And thanks for bringing in great live music!

The mechanic bull was a lot of fun, but make sure you are wearing pants! They have a smoking area and you can also practice catching cattle with a rope. The dance area is smaller and gets really crowded, it is very hard to swing dance after the line dancing crowd comes in. Bar tenders are not very nice and girls night drinks are pretty small, although the line goes fast and I think you can get drinks multiple times. The band was great!

First time visitor here. Love the environment. Definitely a unique place and worth the visit. Great music! Might not want to go on Sunday if you are wanting to dance and are over 21. lol Tons of kids as it is family night. Great that they do that, but might not be as enjoyable for a middle-aged dancer who wants to two-step. Carlos is an amazing, personable, genuine and fast bartender who is knowledgeable and was very inviting. Definitely will be back!

First of all, I met 1 bartender out of 5 that was a quality person. The other 4 gave me a stink eye because I’m out of state, which they could tell from my ID. Next, let’s just call out the fact that my buddy had to take a call that was an emergency and they wouldn’t let him back in without paying a cover. Following that, they were giving him guff for his shirt not being buttoned up enough. Granted, they let us back in, but still… Oh, and it gets better… my friend has prescription sunglasses that he needs for both flashing light sensitivity and the ability to see. They told him to take them off. They were like “it’s a liability to wear sunglasses.” Me, being in the legal practice said “it’s also a liability to not be able to see. If he had his prescription on him, we could take you to court in our state and yours.” Following that, they were hovering around us like vultures to intimidate us. It’s sad and hilarious to me they don’t understand establishment law in their own state and try to intimate a group of 12 people rather than just talk to us or kick us out.I’m disappointed in what I thought would be a decent night. Avoid.

So if you have a full dance floor when the band is on break. And the minute the band comes on everyone leaves…. It’s time to FIRE the band and stick to the line dancing everyone enjoys. Then maybe you can lower the entry fee from 20 bucks on Thursdays and ACTUALLY have some BUSINESS!!! Also what is the point of the girl in the band that doesn’t sing or play an instrument??!!! She just stands 5 feet from a microphone with her hands in her pockets…. I assume to drive up cost of paying band members to raise the cover…KAREN

If you don’t look like everyone else there you definitely get treated differently and judged. Went to support some colleagues for the headliner 4/12 My mother who is disabled got told 4 times she couldnt hold a table so some friends joined her until we got there. Security kept coming by. Everyone seated around us by coat check never got questioned even though they also only had 2 per table as well, but security kept coming to talk to my mom and dad of course. Again 4 times even after having friends join them until we got there. We bought plenty of beer, food, and even bought from the general store (even after all the terrible customer service.) It was 6 of us who all gave to this terrible establishment. Once we all arrived he came by again to check and make sure. Yet did nothing about the people playing a game standing up around a table and blocking the walkway gambling behind us. Even walked by twice seeing them doing it too. First and only time we will ever come. Also not sure why but what bar/ venue doesn’t accept IDs/ drivers licenses on the Colorado app? Thank god for the guys working door out back they were the only ones who made this trip worthwhile. Let’s not forget also that when my mother who is in medical boots in order to walk safely due to her condition could barely find a handicapped spot and when they tried asking for help the works told her it wasn’t their problem. I’m sorry but it is your job to help. Not ADA friendly at all. Especially the janky ramp to go into the general store. NEVER AGAIN.

Thursday ladies night used to be my favorite night of the week- it used to be $10 cover for ladies night, and women drink any domestic beers or well drinks free from 8pm to 12. It was always busy, with line dancing as well as partner dancing (country swing etc). Previously it always felt pretty safe to me as a woman, a lot of the guys who ask women to dance were regulars who just go to have fun dancing. Recently they doubled the price, and now a lot of regulars and good guys have stopped going. The men who are willing to pay $20 cover on a Thursday are often creepy dudes who are only there for the high ratio of drunk women to men. It feels really excessive that they doubled the price overnight and its had a big impact on the vibe there :(

This place is a lot of fun, but I sure do wish I knew how to line dance because its so cool to watch!! I definitely dont know the first thing about the moves, though. I think you can take lessons there, and I would like to try that at some point in the future. I went on ladies night, so thats always a plus because ladies get to drink select beverages for free. However, there is still a cover charge of $20 to enter. Its nice because they also serve food in case you get the urge to eat. There was a live band playing as well.

My favorite country bar. Like everything in the world, prices have gone up in the last few years, but theres plenty of bartenders, so you dont wait forever to get a drink. The food is pretty good for bar food, I like the pizza especially after a few. There is an indoor smoking area for all your tobacco wants, but keep the trees at home. If you bring a pipe, be prepared to show them its tobacco.

This used to be a solid spot. But they overnight doubled cover to $20 on Thursdays. Sorry, but you’re just not worth this. Maybe if you’re a thirsty single cowboy. But for everyone else this is objectively a rip off. You’re charging the same cover as the best clubs in Denver. On a Thursday. In the sticks. Make that make sense.

I went to dance. On a Saturday evening, the dancers show up early around 6:00-7:00 to dance to DJ music before it gets too crowded. Live band starts at 8:00. They had a 45 minute line dance class at 8:30 in a side room for $5. It gets fairly full after 9:00. $10 cover charge. There are pool tables and bull riding, but I go to dance. Fun place.

Every single employee that I encountered was extremely rude, impatient, and unwelcoming. Overall you can expect to have an okay experience if you avoid all staff which includes the person you pay to enter, the person who takes food orders, security, and ordering any drinks from the bartender, especially the bartender who was incredibly short, rude, and impatient when there was a miscommunication about the methods in which I was able to pay for my drink, so to save everybody a bit of stress in the future if you do decide to order from that god awful bartender “not everybody has to accept tap to pay you either pay me in cash or a solid card”.

I love the Grizzly Rose and have been supporting them for 10+ years. But doubling the price of the cover charge from $10 to $20 per person on thursday nights is ridiculous. I understand costs have risen the past few years but $40 for a couple just to walk through the door is crazy especially when it was $10 per person a few months ago.I was planning a large group 15-20 people to come to the rose this thursday but when we learned about the price hike, immediately 10 people cancelled because they cannot afford $20 + drinks for the guys. The ladies who cancelled said a $20 cover was too high to justify well drinks.

Giving 5 stars purely based on the music selection. House band was great as was the music that played in between. Too many “country bars” across the country want to play rap or music that hardly resembles country. This place was playing nothing but the good stuff! I have enjoyed coming to the Grizzly Rose for over 25 years. The staff is extremely professional and friendly, and the atmosphere is extremely fun. Dance lessons are available for those who want to learn how to really show off their skills, and the bands are always incredible. As for those posting negative comments, it is very important to note that, in each and every instance, the ridiculous and nonsensical situation the poster alleged was due to THEIR OWN NEGLIGENCE, and in no way reflected the true attitude of the Club or management. Both the website and signage at the Club indicate that photo ID IS REQUIRED for EVERYONE! (I am 62 years old and STILL must show a photo ID at the door every night I go to the Club. This has ALWAYS been the rule.) It is also basic common sense that liquor bottles included in VIP areas are NOT to leave that area. Plus no one is EVER handcuffed in one of the bathrooms (or any other area of the building or property) unless the individual(s) has/have committed some infraction to warrant such a drastic reaction. After all, the Grizzly Rose is in business to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all of their guests. Just be respectful, know your alcohol limits, BRING YOUR PHOTO ID and, most of all, HAVE FUN!!!!

I’ve checked their FAQ page as of today’s date and it doesn’t say anything regarding digital ID.Here is from their website:“Unfortunately, the Grizzly Rose requires a valid Government-issued ID on all age-restricted nights that prove you are 18+ or 21+. If you have lost your ID please visit the DMV to get a new or temporary approved ID. We will also accept other valid forms of government-issued ID’s such as passports.”This is government issued. Glad I came to write a review--I see all these other peoples experiences of racism and sexism, and I feel vindicated in my experience too.I was waiting in line at the bar when 2 dudes cut in front of me to talk to the 2 skinny mini blondes who were directly in front of me, the only people in front of me in line. I thought they might walk off with the girls once the girls got their drinks, but the girls walked off without them--clearly not together/reserving a spot in line for them--and the guys proceeded to order drinks. I recognized one of the guys as the lead who had been teaching the dance class the previous week, so, trying to make myself feel better for being cut in line, ignored, and disrepected, I tapped him on the shoulder, confirmed with him that he had taught the class, and then jokily said he owes me a dance for cutting in line. Heres the kicker: instead of chucking, apologizing, and/or agreeing to dance a song, he DENIES he cut in line! Like, dude, Ive been here the whole time and I saw you. What an ahole. I dont care if its petty or people think Im overreacting, but Im sure as anything not GIVING YOU MONEY to treat me like that. And honestly, Im kinda relieved to have a definitive reason to not go back, because there were some other annoying things before that--particularly ladies nights on Thursdays are waaay too crowded, from the dance floor to the bar to all the people jam packed in the hallways creating fire and trampling hazards. The partner dance scene is abysmal--leads apparently dont feel the need to take the dance classes before trying to lead; the result is them yanking follows arms around into spins and dangerously attempting dips they dont actually know how to do. That can be especially dangerous, given how crowded the dance floor is. Plus, in the classes, they spent MAYBE 5 minutes teaching frame/connection, and that only in the beginner class. Well, when Ive seen how that turns out of the floor, more work is needed on the fundamentals in class! (And I do actually know what Im talking about here; Ive been dancing/teaching various types of partner/ballroom dances for 10+ years. Too bad this feedback will almost definitely not get back to the teachers--you can see for yourself how the business just doesnt respond to negative reviews/try to improve itself at all.)Gonna say more here b/c partner dancing is my main interest at venues like this. Heck, its supposed to be part of the draw. In addition to most of the leads here just not being very good, theres also that annoying club dynamic where its more about dating/taking someone home and less socially acceptable to just ask people to dance, where a dance only means one dance--like, guys assessed me before answering, as if deciding if they want more than just dancing from me; and one guy over twice my age hounded me the whole night because I asked him to dance ONCE; and thats if I can find people to say yes at all, because half of them dont know how and will only watch all night (like, why are you here?) or are waiting for someone/ with someone (dude, I didnt ask for sex, I asked to dance. Just because I ask to dance doesnt mean I like you; I literally do not know you). Basically just a bunch of small things that made my time unpleasant as a dancer. It might be fine if you only line dance or if you bring your own partner. Other than that, good luck.2 stars because theres potential, maybe under new management, based on other reviews Ive seen. Also, if you are a female and just go to drink on a Thursday, its $10 cover and unlimited free drinks 8pm-midnight. I would love for you ladies to make them lose money on that.

HOLY SMOKES, I love this place!! A small live band played during Family Night, which Im assuming means all ages. As much as I hate going to bars where there are kids around, tonight was actually pretty cool. A MASSIVE line dance group in the middle of the dance floor, with couples dancing around them on the outer edges. The 21+ to under 21 ratio was substantially in the under 21s favor, but it made my heart smile seeing that many teens and pre-teens dancing to my favorite country classics. When I visit Denver again, the Rose is going to easily be towards the top of my to-do-again list. Also, the Disco BULL made me crack up so much 🤣🤣

I mean, its fun if the bald security guard (and his hispanic friend) isnt literally looking to yell at you about made up rules about 4 chairs to a table because of fire code (which is false) and other stupid stuff. I used to go to this place as a teenager for family nights. I brought my husband and kids last night to enjoy family night for the first time together. Never did I ever think that the staff could be more ruder or less professional than they were last night. Bartenders were crazy rude!!! Designated driver should always get their sodas free instead of charging me any, but that’s the least of the problems. The professionalism in this place has completely gone downhill. My daughter, who looks like a boy was having a discussion with her girlfriend in the corner by the bathrooms. The manager was the worst ,, he came out to my daughter, who thought she was a boy and put his hands on her and told her to back up from her girlfriend to which they were just having a discussion ,, my child is 14. Very aggressively did he handle this. He put his hands on her and was talking to her way out of context and then didn’t even ask if there was a parent . they were doing nothing wrong and totally made her feel uncomfortable. the staff needs to be more pleasant and talk to the parents if there’s ever an issue! We won’t will be going back there. We left right after because I rather give my money and time to a place where there offer family nights to be pleasant and not treated as a criminal #Stampede

I had enjoyed the past times I had been to the Grizzly Rose and am extremely disappointed with how my friends and I were treated tonight. There was a misunderstanding with drinks that could have been solved civilly (to be clear, I was a 20 year old with a virgin cocktail in hand when pulled aside by security. My 21 year old friend had two drinks, intended for herself, that had been sold to her without question by the bartender). My friends and I were pulled aside to a back room and yelled at by a very aggressive bartender who was not a part of the initial misunderstanding whatsoever. While we sat quietly in the room, he called us disrespectful, threatened calling the police, and asked about and then made fun of our income levels and careers(which was completely unrelated to the initial misunderstanding). He explained in the most aggressive and patronizing way possible that we were wasting his time, and then continued on an incoherent rant for 10 minutes while we sat in silence. When we tried to explain that we did not mean to swindle the bar or commit any sort of crime, but any problems we created were genuine mistakes, we were spoken over and yelled at to the point where multiple of us were in tears. Once we were asked to leave, I was told I could not drive home (despite being sober), and we spent a solid 30 minutes in the parking lot alone out of fear they would call the police if they saw me driving.Looking at past reviews, this is not the first time an issue like this had happened. Had we been approached respectfully and asked to leave, we would have done so without question and without criticism–the situation where my friend had two drinks was admittedly suspicious ,despite that not being the intention, but again could have been resolved quickly and quietly. The bartender who spent 15 minutes raising his voice at three silent and scared young women was not necessary on any means. Other employees clearly did not agree with his choices but did not step in. The power trip he was experiencing ruined any positive experience I have had or could have here.

09/10. Kudos to the entry door guy who was checking male guests for weapons; very professional and not over bearing. Once inside we found that the house band was damn good, the beer was cold, and the bartender that served us was super friendly. The dance floor was always busy and made for great people watching. No matter if it was a crowd of line dancers, young folks tossing and spinning each other around, or traditional two-step couples making their way around the floor everyone got along. However… I’ve been to dozens of bars, saloons, and honky-tonks to dance and have never had a negative experience with a security guard until this night. While I was standing at the far end of the dance floor, behind the folks leaning against the rail, the security guard dressed in full tactical gear (why?) tells me to move up and out of the walkway. I’m literally 2ft behind the folks in front of me and reply that if I get any closer to the people in front of us, it’s liable to make them feel uncomfortable. His response was a threat to kick us out of the place. After a brief convo, he went to pick on someone else. What a not-so good problem solver and poor guest relations person to have in your business. Grizzly Rose is a great place with few other places filling this market in the area. Don’t let an over zealous security guard run off groups who spend twice his night’s pay or drive business away to another club.

Staff were unprofessional and not friendly both times. This time, the challenge was that the person I brought with me left their ID at home and was not allowed to enter despite nothing on the tickets saying ID was required. I would otherwise recommend this place if not for security guard. A group of 5 of us came to see beckman and felt targeted by. particular guard. The set rules should apply to all in the bar. Rule of the bar are no tables or chairs can be moved. Almost all of the table and chairs are 4 top with then require one in our party to stand. A guard came over an rudely told us not to move the chairs. When questioned what were we to do with 5 people he stated one could stand or at the back of the bar there was tables that had more than 4. While this was inconvenient we choose to stay in that table due to location of the stage for the concert. Not 5 minutes after this interaction a group of 6 sat across from us, moving 2 chairs to the table. We then watched as the same guard walked past their table not saying anything to them. I then asked another guard if it was just the section we were in or was it the whole bar. Was advised it was the while bar. We spent the rest of the night with the same guard hassling us over things that were being done by table directly around us, including that you can only dance on the dance floor. As we watched the gurad walk around right after telling us the rules you could see him turn his head in a different direction when others were breaking the house rules. I can understand there are rules to the establishment but when you are told no and to follow the rule but other around you can break the rule with no enforcement made us feel targeted. We drove 12 hours to see this show from Texas and the experience was tarnished by your rude guards. If you are going to have these set rules they need to apply to everyone. Also it does not hurt that your guards be at minimum civil in tone and not rude or disrespectful. We drove from Texas to come to Grizzly Rose and bought drinks and food just to feel that we were not valued as patrons.

Please note: this is not the DJ’s fault. They are great. They should not receive heat for this post.I have been going here well over a year and recently it has been getting worse and worse. I am a lead line dancer and typically after concerts you can attend and line dance all the way to close. Normally a lot less busy than Thursdays or Sundays. However, the GM of the establishment has now instructed the DJ’s not to play line dance music on concert nights and to keep it to two step and swing. The DJ’s hate it as much as the Denver line dance scene does. This is not what the rose is about, it used to be an even split of line and two step and swing dances, now we get one every 15 songs and then back to two step country. This review will probably be taken down but I fear that even saying this will get me banned from the rose and they do not like people speaking the truth or causing a disturbance.I urge the rose to change course, this is not the right direction to go in.

1. There is no parking almost ever. 2. There is no military discount, any self respecting country bar would pay it forward to the troops (like in Texas) 3. You have to show your ID with your card EVERY time you pay for a drink. Very inconvenient for ladies who don’t have pockets and rely on others to hold their stuff. 4. The line dancers overwhelm the dance floor and have no spatial awareness. I got hit multiple times by dancers who refuse to dance conservatively within their limits when the floor was packed. I do not recommend for individuals and dancing groups/clubs who actually dance two step.

May I go on, the bartenders were way too old disrespectful and misunderstanding of the brunette who was about 5,6 5,7 walking in the center bar between the stage and the bulls was extremely rude. This date was on Thursday July 6th, 2023 at approximately 12:00 am she was making a huge seen absolutely embarrassing herself. Me and my husband were walking by and we werent sure if we were at daycare or at a adult bar. The bartender was throwing a fit chasing customers around I even have it on video and apparently other customers have had the same problem with the same woman. Seems like the woman needs a new position and isnt a friendly bartender. But that wasnt the only problem I saw at that bar me. My fiance and my best friend. We just got brand new drinks and some old fat man came and stole them and took them from us when we confronted him he told us to leave even though he took our full drinks that we paid for. And we want the only ones he ran around like this like a chicken with his head cut off and anybody who would ask him a question the meatball get angry and throw you out. Ok if you are going to charge for dance lessons, please start on time and make sure your dance teachers know what they are doing. My sister and I took the 8:30 line dance class tonight (Saturday 8/19) and the dance teacher taught us the American Kid dance wrong. We kind of knew it but wanted an official lesson but when she was teaching it there was one part that felt off, and sure enough when we went out to the dance floor and did the dance with everyone else, our instincts were right. And there was a restart that she also didn’t teach us. Just a bit annoying. Should’ve learned the dance for free on YouTube instead. If you don’t care about line dancing, this place has a great atmosphere, music, and it’s very spacious. I will keep coming back because it’s the only place around with line dancing, but I do wish it was more organized. The DJ or band leader should announce the name of each dance coming up. The times I’ve been here it seems like a free for all- someone sort of randomly chooses a dance and then everyone follows along. And it’s hit or miss whether or not there are people dancing that know what they’re doing lol

I know this isnt for the grizzly rose but a bunch if dancers hate bands that repeat songs like this weeks @woodland Park who repeated not just one set but 2 and played 90 percent the same tempo all night which made a lot of people leave unhappy

Went here for a country show. Vibes were surprisingly good. Good times, overall. Food wasnt great, neither was the well tequila, so stick to whiskey and beer here. Impeccable vibes.Go for the disco bull if nothing else.

It was so fun to come here at first. We were met by unwelcoming staff. It’s ladies night and I was planning on tipping until I was met with so much unkindness. Was my first time might be my last. I’ve heard great things from my friends and I honestly won’t come back.

Never been to anything like it. Make sure to bring your cowboy boots and lots of energy. Lime dancing to any and every song. Tons of couple doing crazy country swing dancing. Electric bulls and a live music, the prices arent terrible either!!

This place is home!! I cant tell you how good it feels to find a place with friendly people who just want to have a good time, Id never been here before and after my third time there i just knew i found my regular Saturday night place, my bartender Bri was fantastic and so kind. Brandon was great, too funny conversation and caring about people enjoying themselves.. Thank You!!!

We were truly disappointed in our entire night. We could not Brantley Gilbert over the talking all over the bar. People were pushy and rude and there was no clear direction for those of us who were there solely to see Brantley.

We love this place, but the lack of structure during events makes this a no go for me on event nights. We get there early to grab a great table, and as the place fills, the standing area spills into the sitting area. Whats the issue with this? You cant see anything going on on stage. We continue to see fighting in this area, and nothing is ever done. I bring it up to the bouncers and they could care less. To bad....

They’ve done a great job cleaning the place up. It feels safe and clean, which is not the Rose we grew up with.

Was turned away because I forgot my physical ID at home for the Easton Corbin concert. If the digital ID isn’t accepted at your venue it needs to be made clear in advance. It’s a legal form of ID in Colorado!
