Bonham Exchange

I went to Bomham for the first time last night & honestly it was great. There was a line around the corner which i thought would have us waiting forever, but i was in line for about 20 minutes. The security was extremely polite & very very kind. They check bags and they wand you down which i appreciated.. They had several rooms/floors with different types of music. They have pool tables where you can go and chill if you’re not really wanting to dance. Drinks were cheap in my opinion and really great. I’ve had some expensive watered down drinks but here were great…. the only thing that wasn’t great were the bartenders. At least the ones i first went to…. both girls were extremely rude to me & my friend. We had just told her our order & she rolled her eyes at us that even my boyfriend looked at me like 👀 because it was her immediate reaction to our order :( she didn’t even stay to take the rest of it, she just took off which left us with the second female bartender that was also rude to us when we asked for our drinks..i thought they’d be friendlier or maybe it wasn’t their day.but other than that the place is great !! amazing vibes, amazing music.

What an amazing experience at the Bonham Exchange, the only reason I went was because Anetra from Rupauls Drag Race season 15 was there! She did such an amazing job! Bonham was very nice, has an antique and unique character, the only negative I have to say is the stage, I think the speakers and the podium they are in the way of being able to see the performance, if you ever go get in the middle that would be your best view. Host was very funny and I loved the great chemistry she had with the audience. If you do not pay for tables or seating be prepared to be standing for a long time. It might not be important to anybody but I will always remember meeting my favorite drag queen Anetra there.

We went today for the fist time and the bar tenders were very respectful! It caught our attention that the manager was very attentive and committed to make sure we are having fun. We are definitely coming back!

The bartender, Jordan (if that’s his real name), was rude and arrogant. The other bartenders were pleasant and professional. He served me a drink with a bottle cap in the bottom of the cup and told me “too bad, it’s your problem and not mine” when I brought it to his attention.Jordan offered to make another one and then poured the drink into another cup with the bottle cap instead of making a fresh one. I went to a different bartender and had a much better experience.

We had a great time. We were welcomed with opened arms. Very open place, lots of stuff to do. Great drinks. Will go back.

Always a fun atmosphere and great music.

They cheat customers out of experience they have all these Corwin Vega speakers that are not on. Especially on the hip hop floor. And only one bottom speaker on the edm floor. Very disappointing. If your a club person that wants bass. Dont come here. Facts!!

Flew in from LA for a conference and stopped by to see how the San Antonio LGBT+ life was, I felt so comfortable and accepted! Drag show was amazing

Honestly Im not a club person so take my reading with a grain of salt. This was my second visit, both times were fun.I didnt try the food, but overall a cool place. I met a cool lady there, i think her name was Samantha? I regret not offering her my number. She seemed gentle and kind.Now all Ive brought home is ringing ears and am empty stomach! Damn!Also, I didnt know minors could go into clubs! They just wrote an M on their right hand to keep them from buying alcohol. (it doesnt work 😂)

Awesome place to go dance, drink and hang out with friends. First time seeing a drag show upstairs and it was fabulous!! Good to see that the dance floor is open again.

It was my first time their and it’s okay just expect to stand in a long line which lasts about 15-20mins.Music is pretty good just a really awkward crowd. Drinks are good for a fair price. Overall I think it’s overrated been to better clubs.

One of my friends caught one security guard smoking marijuana and he got aggressive for reporting him. Big Mexican guy that’s bald and someone told me his name was rich or Richard. Top flight security at its finest.

If I could place ZERO Stars I would. This place is gross and over priced! Also, shame on this bar for not accepting a friend of mine who showed his “Residence Card”. They did not allowed the entry to this bar while acting super rude. Discrimination? YES.

Absolutely amazing! Met the manger Tom and then his boss! Super kind and great atmosphere. There’s an area for everyone! I would recommend hands down!

It is an LBGT club but it is still welcoming of everybody and it is a fun experience here for anybody.

Absolutely love it here. Great people awesome music and really good drink specials!! The bonham is like family and place where you can go and feel comfortable. Their security is amazing as well and they make sure everyone is safe. So if your looking for a new Saturday night spot this is definitely the place to be!!!

This club was at its best when it was a legitimate gay club in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Now, we go every year the weekend of Thanksgiving when we are in town. 2023 is the last time we will continue the tradition. The post COVID years get progressively worse at Bonhams. The front door personnel act like TSA or prison guards. The place does not vibe at any level literally. No thought or effort was put into the top floor. There are more 18 to 20 year olds than 21 and up. The patio is the best part of the club and its just a patio with picnic tables and a bar. The club does have several bars conveniently situated, so thats a plus. The place could be really great but to get back to its roots and to be all that it can be it needs new ownership and management with heart, vision, and soul. Finally, getting rid of free or discounted military cover is insulting especially in a military city. My recommendation is to find another place to dance or for the LGBTQ community until this place finds its way back to good! They could learn from S24 in Dallas.

Me and my friends had such a gay time. I would highly recommend this place for anyone. Looking for a good gay time. Ive never been so gay in my whole life. Nothing but gay memories.

Surprisingly, as busy as the place is they really keep up with keeping those bathrooms clean and stocked. The music is top 40 and NEVER CHANGES. Same songs every single time. Every room is the same kind of music. For a gay club there isnt much fun music like 80s or techno. Just the same thumping jump music. One Calvin Harris Feat after another. Also for a gay bar I like to play a game called Spot A Gay Person. I usually average about 4. NO LIE. Mostly a lot of Middle Eastern dudes trying to grind up on any female in sight. Go with a posse. Drink before you go because the drinks are only strong if you order it that way. No Dress Code. DJM3 is the best.

This bar has a LOT of character! Not only is the building itself beautiful, but so are the people who work there. I was visiting SA for the weekend and the staff made me feel welcome and right at home. Everyone from the security guard to the bartenders to the dancers were so nice. There are a lot of different rooms around the building, so you can explore and find the right vibe for you. I CANT wait to go back to SA so I can visit again ♥️

I’m autistic, as a result I don’t go out very often. I’ve been to Bonham a number of times before, and every time prior to New Year’s Eve has been amazing. This time, however, I was unknowingly talking to an undercover cop who, after a good amount of conversation with him, assumed I was on drugs, when I had no substances on me, and I had not taken anything prior to arriving here. Despite me trying to explain this to him and that he was misunderstood, he proceeded to kick me out. I called my father who lived around twenty minutes away to come get me, and then I called my roommate to tell her what happened. I was still near the building while on the phone with both of them, because I didn’t want to be alone in a place I was unfamiliar with while I was on the phone. After hanging up with my roommate, I was attempting to explain what had occurred to an outside security guard after collecting myself, because I was really distressed after being wrongfully thrown out, but they immediately turned hostile and threatened to arrest me if I didn’t leave the property immediately. This made me even more distressed, as I had to go down the street to a parking lot nearby and felt very vulnerable and scared while I was talking to my roommate in tears after they did this. I have never had any incidents prior to this one, and am very disappointed that a place that prides itself on “Everyone” being welcome would discriminate like this.

A historical mansion turned into an absolute hangout. They certainly know how to get down and wild at Bonham. They had a club scene downstairs and with multiple hang out rooms. Upstairs they were having an all out drag contest party

Came here on Friday night and the people that check your id outside are nice and polite, however the lady who charges you the cover was so rude and mean. We waited in line for 5 mins and by the time we got in it was 12:01 and she wouldn’t accept the insta post that gets you in for free since it was “too late” even though we were one minute late since we waited in line.The atmosphere is great everyone is dancing. However both djs were so bad!!! The music selection is absolutely horrendous. I will probably not be coming back here.

This place was fun with good music and 2 levels for different dance floors! The people were fun but my night out with my girls took a turn for the worse when I was kicked out of the club. The security in the front was very rude to my friend and I when we were just trying to find a way to get to my friend. When offered solutions we were rudely turned away and told to get off the property. The front security guard needs to be taken down a couple of notches we were being so respectful and complying!

Unfortunately last night we went to see a show on the third floor and the experience was pretty terrible. After waiting over 30 min in line to pay and get in, which is totally understandable. We were met with little to no view of the stage. Not only were there pillars in the way, the general admission area is not viewer friendly. To put this in perspective I am 5’7 and I was wearing 3 inch heels and there were points where I could see glimpses but for the majority of the show I couldn’t see a thing. There was one performer that I could genuinely tell you I didn’t see at all throughout their whole number. My partner is 5’4 and couldn’t see a thing, I was completely disappointed. There were plenty of individuals standing in the back with absolutely no view. It’s unfortunate going in super excited and being disappointed. I hope they find a solution to this issue because it’s not okay to have people pay to watch a show they literally cannot see.

Dj cobwebb isnt particularly the best DJ. came for like a week straight and i got really tired of the music they chose. youd get maybe a minute of mr brightside by the killers then theyd change it to some rap. you cant dance to one song w out changing it up every 1 minute, its kinda weird. played a lot of basic edm, spanish music & 2000s hits. it got very repetitive and kinda boring, i wish theyd add more kinds of music or different songs to their list to keep it fresh cus it will get stale REALLY fast if they dont.

I come here a lot and I really do usually enjoy myself and feel safe as a lesbian, but lately there have been some disgusting men that have made me uncomfortable and been annoyed/angry when I turned them down or told them I was gay. I feel like it’s less of a gay bar than it should be because of the large number of straight people. I don’t think straight people shouldn’t be allowed in these spaces but they should have some awareness of where they are. Other than that, I love the bartenders and the dancers. The lady bartender that works at the bar right by the door to the back patio is great and so is the bearded guy in the room with the pool table. The music gets kind of repetitive if you go a lot but it’s not necessarily bad music. The building is super cool and the bathrooms are pretty clean.

Came for the San Japan party and to support local DJs. One of the advertised acts performed to a crowd of no one because they didnt open the upstairs room yet, when it was advertised to open at 8:00. When talking to other employees, originally they werent going to let people upstairs until 10:00. When I confronted other workers about this, I was threatened to be thrown out by security. And the reason they didnt want to open upstairs was because the bar wasnt ready... Thankfully, after that exchange they finally let people in 5 mins later, and I was able to see who I came for. 😐

Edit: I used to love this place, as you can see by my old review. But the security guard up front is out of line and extremely rude, so is the black woman with glasses who sits out front. She is very rude, aggressive and confrontational to clients. At this point, I dont feel safe and laid back. I feel paranoid that these armed guards are going to get angry and aggressive and kick people out or not allow anyone in for whatever reason.Original review :A super fun and safe environment! As a woman I had the most fun here and felt the most safe. I appreciate that there is security that checks everyones bags and pockets. I also appreciate that there are security guards/officers within the club. It makes a night out more for fun and carefree for women.

The security guards or whatever take their job way too seriously. I was with my girls having a good time and I had an EMPTY cup in my hand. I was banned and kicked out bcuz I wasn’t 21 yet. I wasn’t even drinking tho like ?? Overall it’s a cool club :)

Honestly this place was pretty fun!I gave it one star because the DJ last night on the top level decided to call a lady who went onto the stage and make a song request a Karen! For this to be such a welcoming community to ALL for him to make a statement such as “Get Karen Off the Stage”on the mic to EVERYONE was completely unacceptable and many others in the crowd took offense let alone the lady who walked onto the stage! Nothing about this was funny and made most of the crowd leave and feel uncomfortable! After this statement I did not feel comfortable being here and decided to leave! It was extremely rude and disrespectful to everyone!We need to do better in this world and not make statements like this!

Absolutely love this place. The environment is always friendly, music selection is the best. If I want to dance and have a good time this place is always my first choice.

One of the bartenders tried drugging my partner, we asked for just water, he added a brown substance with a syringe when we werent looking and swore it was just water, people followed us outside and kept telling my partner to say youre with us, very scetchy and unsafe place.

An all inclusive club, meaning everyone from all walks of life are welcome! The female bartenders are always great and know how to make awesome drinks. Fair prices for the mixed drinks. Three floors, each playing something a little different so you get choices as to where you want to be. Great atmosphere, just be careful, I’ve been plenty of times but on of those times there was a few weirdos I noticed following me and my friends all night, and my drink was spiked. Thankfully my friends were around and I got home safely.Although I had ONE bad experience, (not the clubs fault) I would still give this place 6 stars if possible :)

Honestly the place is nice inside it great place to meet up with friends and family. Just enjoy yourself have a good time, especially if you’re the type of person who works so much and goes to school, having a little small outing with friends or family. But on the other hand the people that work there not including the dancers, the dancers are the most sweetest and friendly workers there, I’m talking about the lady that wear glasses in the front that checks the IDs, she overly stern with her words and she needs to get a new eye prescription, bc I’ve been here plenty of times. I understand they’re strict and I respect their rules. But the old lady with the glasses accused me and my cuzin of holding alcohol in our hands. They were watching us walk from where I park my car which was like down the street from the club. She denied us entrance because supposedly we were holding alcohol and threw it away infront of them on the way to there long line, mind you it like 12 something at night Im wearing white and my cuzin wearing black and the lady said she saw us drink it then my cuzin in the black top went right in-front of them and threw the alcohol away and then got in line. Which we literally never went close to the trash can. Honestly I was upset, bc first we are minors, we were only there to see friends for a birthday party. Secondly we work essential types of jobs so we busy most of our time, third I wasted 2 gallons of gas on a 35min drive from where I lived to there. Lastly there was a lesbian couple in black and white in front of us while we were in line in the freezing cold that looked like they were drinking. We try to convince the lady she was mistaken us for someone else, we been here plenty of times why all of sudden, anyways she kept refusing saying she knows it was us bc she saw it with her own eyes. Honestly the people that were behind us in line even vouch for us saying they were behind us we never threw anything away but the lady still refused rudely. Then another problem happen with someone who was actually drunk and holding a bottle of liquor and so there owner or boss man came out to talk to the drunken lady why she isn’t allowed in. I was able to stop him respectfully explain the situation of there assumption of us and if they can pull up the camera footage that points at the trash can and the area around it and will prove us innocent they mistaken us for someone else. Then the owner or boss told us he can’t do anything he can’t rewind the footage until the end of the night and said if she said no then it no. He excused himself and walk away. We were left baffled how un etiquette, low manner, and unprofessional they handle our situation. Honestly we stopped trying bc we both already tired from working all day, and we have work tmr as well. Also extra info unrelated. They don’t let you in if your ID is expired, cut or anything off about it they do scan them to check age. It 15$ for 18-20 yrs olds and adult adults are free or 5$. Honestly, I’m very displeased with the management of this place. That’s because I have experience in running and building operation, knowing how to handle situations. So if your looking for someone to accused you and not let you in bc of the way you look instead, honestly go down to 1902 or burn house instead, you will enjoy and have fun with friends and family not to get accused or criticized.

I have been going here for the last 6 years with my best friend and we have both had an amazing time EVERY SINGLE TIME WE GO!!! By now we have made some amazing friendships and connections with some of the staff and by far one of the best experiences here has been with one of the bartenders Fernanda!!

I asked the bartender for a cup of water, and he added some powder thing to the water. It even changed the color it did not look like water. I even asked him afterward, Is this water?! He nodded his head. I obviously didnt drink whatever that was

As other have mentioned the service here is eh , they just don’t seem interested. Also on another note I was only charged $5 to get in and my sister who’s also my age was charged $20 which make NO SENSE to me? Why are they charging different prices I guess anything to make money . I went on a Friday night it was DEAD & beer here is about $6 each .

I genuinely have a good experience here but I experienced alongside other bad reviews and got banned for no reason. I was holding my friends drink while he put on his coat and he also dropped something out of it because I man came up and told us which lead to my friend handing it to me. i tried to reason with the security to check the cameras and they refused and treated me as if I wasn’t a customer even one of the other securities saw me just hold the drink but they believed a bartender who saw me hold it only. i even explained I have health conditions where I can’t consume alcohol without it injuring me with the medication I am on. This was wrong it isn’t the only time it has happened to people under 21 who weren’t doing anything. (I’m 20) I want this right

Been here a few times. Different vibes on different evening Decent drinks reasonable priced, friendly service. Several different areas with a variety of music playing, multiple drink service locations, as well as a food available back patio.Very diverse crowd.Fun place to hang out with people you know or meet new friends

This place is such a fun place to go to but has the most discriminating rude lady that is at the entrance checking peoples ID , not once but dozens of times I go I’ve experienced her being rude or discriminating against certain people of color and race which is ironic because that place should be welcoming to all . Management needs to do better with replacing workers like her.

Visited Saturday 12/28/13. A 15 year New Yorker, I grew up in San Antonio and remember the Bonham as a laid back, welcoming club with great music for dancing, not for posing and looking good. The welcoming, laid back part is still true but I was very disappointed with the music. All three rooms felt like mostly rap/hip-hop. Why have 3 rooms if youre not going to vary the music. When the DJ would mix in good music, he would play maybe 20 seconds of it, then switch to 20 seconds of another song. Yes, your mixing skills are impressive, and very welcome when switching songs. But how about you play the whole song?I dont think its just that Im old (44). When I was in the front room, where the dance floor is smallest but the music is best, when 80s music came on, everyone got on the floor, including girls who had to be in their 20s.Great venue, cover and drink prices. Too bad about the music.

It was pretty decent. I went with a friend last Friday during fiesta. It was fun as a minor and i didn’t feel like I needed to drink to have fun. It did kinda feel dead until after midnight and didn’t really feel like a *gay* bar because every guy had a girl he wasn’t grinding on but. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. There also didn’t seem to be anyone my age.

Very fun atmosphere! If you like to dance go here. There’s a lot of options with a variety of music which is great. The cons are that there’s a cover charge and the food that is provided by the vendors in the patio is expensive.

It was my first time at this club, loved it so much… until a security gard pulled my friend and I aside and told us “give us ur id & come w me” all bc our M’s on our hands we’re wiping off, keep in mind we were there literally 3hrs dancing, sweating, and washing our hands constantly… ofc our M’s are going to start to come off slowly! So disappointed with the staff, so rude to my friend & I for no reason!

Terrible terrible club. If ur under 21 don’t go anywhere near anyone who had or has alcohol because they assume the worst. Got thrown out with my bro cuz he was near me when I was drinking and I’m of age and he wasn’t but he was near me so he got thrown out. Even though I didn’t give him any alcohol and he was completely sober. Asked for a sobriety test for him and they wouldn’t breathalyze him, just straight up kicked me and him out. Security guards are super rude, stuck up and wouldn’t let me leave until I signed the “banned for 30 days” paperwork for providing a minor alcohol, and threatened to all the cops on me if I didn’t sign the paperwork. When I asked for the camera footage on his body camera of me giving him alcohol he said “it wasn’t recording” so it’s his word against mine. If you are underage don’t even show up it’s not worth the 20 dollars, you’ll get kicked out within minutes even though it’s 18+

The staff is wonderful! They took such good care of us. The one bartender was working really hard, it took him about 10-15 minutes to get our drinks but he was fast and made sure he got the customers according to who came up first. We had so much fun. The club itself is awesme. Theres three sections and each was playing a different genre of music. Well definitely be coming back 😊

9.5/10 Went on a friday night with a group of friends. Amazing music, lights, and the building is nice to explore the different levels. Plenty of bars everywhere to order from. CHEAP DRINKS!!! My tequila sodas were $3, IN THIS ECONOMIC CLIMATE??? OKAY YES! The only reason i have 4 stars is because we got kicked out HAHA We were visibly “feelin it” (iykyk) and the security guard escorted us out BUT in a very respectful way. He assured us we weren’t in trouble, just had to get home. We thankfully used uber to and from. (we had a goal: drunk) All in all a good place to be, very fun and cheap. Will be going again soon!

On Friday july 12 at midnight. There was a 10 minute wait to get in. Most of the crowd was under the age of 21 or barely over. The place was huge, many different themed rooms, but was not the type of crowd for dancing your face off. If you prefer a crowded dance floor, this is not your place. If you dont mind being in the spotlight because so few people are dancing, then this is your place.

I have participated in the San Antonio pub crawl for two months now. Bonham Exchange is our favorite bar along the strip. Last night we got a history lesson about how Bonham became the place it is and how Happy shaped the culture of down town San Antonio as we know it today. If I had to pick one bar for any and every occasion it would be Bonham.

This place sucks, forget about requesting a song because the DJ will automatically call you a “karen” LMAO.We’re here to have a good time not to bully people. You pay cover and don’t even get good music. Shame. Go elsewhere, promise you, you’ll have a better time.

Usually go with friends at the end of our night from 12-2am on first Fridays. The place is always fun and they have great music on all the rooms. Has never let us down as our go to spot, drinks are really good too and decently priced.

We unfortunately attempted to view a much anticipated drag show. We were not advised that we would be limited to where we could stand upon paying for admission. Upon entering area where admission was held there were numerous empty seat and areas - we stumbled upon an area where a pillar blocked and provided access to us viewing the upcoming show. We were then advised we could not stand there after paying $20 per person =$80 — we were refused a refund and stated we should know where we could stand 🤣 — please do your homework before visiting

Always fun, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. During the week only the down stairs bar is open. The old guy taking the money on the weekend though, seems to have a bit of an attitude. The door person outside of the club checking IDs told me to show the guy inside, taking the money, my Texas Drivers Licence showing Im a veteran. On Fridays there is no cover for veterans and military. I did as was told and the guy still charged full price. He says, I cant see that, besides thats not a military ID. My thinking was, Im just doing what your door person told me to do?! And its not like someone can forge their Texas License to say youre a veteran. I ended up showing him my military ID and he gave me cash back. The whole thing though was just real aggravating, and not a very good first impression. Besides the grumpy guy, it was a blast. Karaoke on Wed is nice and relaxed as well!

This place is awesome. I loved the room that played only house/trance/other EDM. I was very happy to find a place that played our kind of music. Especially on our first trip out on the town. We tipped the bartender fabulously and our service went from good, even though she was pretty busy, to fantastic. I will not just be back, but will frequent this place as much as I can.

I enjoyed this place. Been living in SA my whole life and went here for the first time last night. We got there at 8, so glad we did because when we left around 11ish there was a line to get in! We didnt have to pay cover.I like that its lgbtq+ friendly, I didnt notice any fights or aggression. Security patted down my male partner and used a wand on me.We liked the floor at the top, the DJ was good and theres plenty of space for everyone.Next time we will visit the game room.

This used to be primarily a gay club but because the dancing space (3 floors of it with different music on each floor) and music is so awesome, it has turned into a mix of heterosexual couples, singles and gay people.Ive seen all age ranges there from 20 somethings to 40 somethings and everyone seems to get along. We have ended more than one pub crawl at this place and have never seen or experienced any problems with staff or other patrons.Its REALLY a fun place and great for dancing!

Great place to go especially if youre 18 and up. But, if younger than 21 there is a 15 dollar charge which is kinda high. But, theres music for everyone from EDM to Rap to Latin. Really good set up and meet a lot of fun and interesting people. The only thing is restrooms are kinda small and packed but what club restroom isnt.

In from out of town an Ray made this new experience feel like home. Huge club, lots to do great staff, wonderful experience. All people accepted straight, gay, young and old. Just a great place to be.

Best dance floors in SA**edit** Reducing my rating from 5 to 2 stars because the security guards theyve started using harass patrons now. I used to come here because I felt safe and now Im scared of these hired bullies. Sad rent-a-cops on a power trip ruin the vibe real quick.

How can a gay club not have Chappell Roan?!

Went on a Friday night. 3 levels. Yes there will be gay ppl, but its a mix per level. Music is good club mixes. Crowd kinda young. No dress code. Everyone waa in comfy clothed (shorts, tanks and sandals) Overall I enjoyed my visit. Definitely will be back.

Def the best club downtown. Its got enjoyable music for everyone. Some of the bartenders make skimpy shots so access every bar in the joint and find the best one. Theres about 10 different bars inside! Sometimes people selling tacos and pizza will be coming through later in the evening. They dont close until 3am on weekends, although bars legally have to close @ 2 in Texas. Its definitely a favorite between me and my friends so go have yourself a good night 💙😁

A very fun place to party. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Three levels all with their own dance floors. Huge patio. With a food truck on the weekends. Very popular with the locals and the tourist. Very affordable drink prices.

I heard great things about this after hours club. A friend of mine & I got there at 2:27 to finish our last night out in San Antonio, the door man said no one else could come in and that we were to leave immediately. Very rude & unfriendly. My friend and I were going to purchase non alcoholic drinks inside as well as the cover charge. It is advertised online that they are open till 3am, not 2:27. Won’t be going back. I am a bartender myself, we don’t close down the bar early; we stay till the end. Very unprofessional.

Everyone is so friendly. The only place I go to dance. It its safe, and Im free to dance and dress as eccentric as I want. Open to gay, straight, all races, all gender variants, all ages.I wish they played more EDM. I normally leave at 11 or 12 as it gets too grindy and ghetto.Gogo dancers seem to push me off the stage to stretch. I highly enjoy dancing on the stage.

This club is a move!!! We came here for my bachelorette party (were from out of state) and there was plenty of different rooms! We also didnt get any creepy vibes, which was obvi a huge deal for us. Awesome experience all around.

I went a couple years ago for the masquerade ball with my girlfriend and I had the best time ever. Shopping for the outfits was just as fun as the club. I would do it again. Somebody please let me know when they will be having another one. This time I will be taking my fiance(a guy). Lets see how this goes.It was just way too crowded, and lots of stairs. I was way too intoxicated for heels + stairs. That = exhaustion + shoe removal

This place is one of a kind…if you want to dance around 50 year old men and obese women this is def your scene. $4 doubles on a Friday night, so no complaints there…but omg I feel like I’m in a dream here…I’ve never wanted to throw up but simultaneously party more at the same time in my life, but here’s the spot

How do I say this.... this place ROCKS! I have been going there starting at age 18. This is one of the best clubs in SA, it is part of our LGBTQ+ 🌈community. However anyone can go here and have a blast, primarily club mixes but they have other rooms hip hop and 80s

If you’re underage they’ll mark your hand with a marker with a “M” which is obviously understandable but it WILL stain your dress,boots and ect and smudge off all over the place, i wish they would give us bracelets at least a different color or something else that indicates that we are underage.

It used to be my favorite club. I still go often. The shots even though they are not super expensive the quantity is less( smart way of screwing up people). Music is good and their non gay dance floor is nice.But lately I have been hearing some credit cards gets declined. Looks like they have been cheating with the amount charged to the card. One of my card got declined and I used a different card which went though. But sad thing is the amount charged were different on both cards.I think next time if I have to go I will use cash.

They dont play the best music seem to stay around the same genre most of the time , but with the right crowd youd have fun . Theyre in between very pricy and Inexpensive. On certain nights not sure about every night but the night I did the bathrooms of course were digusting makes you scared to sit down or touch anything . Its not nearly perfect , but it has it fun outgoing experience to make up for it .

Three stories full of fun and merriment! Theres literally something for everyone! Dance floors, a pool table room, another dance floor, AND an outdoor space? Plus $3 dollar happy hour drinks ( $6 for top shelf?!) Who can beat that? Great for a night of lgbt fun! Theres also a bag and coat check in, so theyll guard your stuff while you enjoy yourself.

I started going to the Bonham Exchange at 18 years old. Since then, Ive been to nightclubs all over the US, in Asia, and Europe. The Bonham is absolutely one of the best. I got a chance to go back last night. Its been 18 years and its still magic. And the DJ played my song!

Bartenders were sweet but god awful DJ that managed to drive people out within 10 minutes

One of the better establishments in San Antonios nightlife scene. Great drinks at low prices and great service at the bars. The club has multiple levels so you can move about and not be stuck in one spot.

I liked dancing and having fun here. What I didnt like was that I felt really ignored and almost discriminated by a bartender. Im not gay and was ordering a drink for my husband and I and tried getting his attention several times, he just looked at me and then went on to serve other people that came in after me. I couldnt believe how he was being so nice to everyone else but a total douche to me. It was already 1:55 and I knew he was not going to serve me, I tried smiling, asking super politely..nothing. After a while when no one was ordering he said what? And took my order. When my husband paid him the exact amount he gave it to him kind of folded in half , the bartender got PISSED. He yelled for everyone to hear: dont f&$+ing fold your Fu&#ing money! While he straightened the dollars very vigorously and threw them in the register. What the hell???? Oh and he was giving a lot of limes to everyone, like more than needed. We ordered 2 tequila shots and got no limes , and as I was about to ask for some he looked at me straight in the eye and said no more limes, while the bucket beside him was full with them. Seriously??? What did I do to him to be treated that way? I will definitely come back here to dance but I will make sure to stay away from his bar.

First time here and hadnt been to a club in a minute. My hen and cokes....consistently strong! Music....ehhhh, but that didnt stop me from bustin a move or two. Really enjoyed the Mexican music and seeing the dancing and excitement that was displayed. People were uhhhh awkward or on their phones on the side all night. I was super confused by this...come out your house to then just sit on your phone?? OK? Most other people drunk and happy. Atmosphere felt safe. Id visit again.

The security guards at this place is gonna end up getting this club shut down and their security company in trouble. There are things security guards can and cant do, they arent police officers. They cant legally ask someone for their ID and if that person refuses, security cant do anything but escort them out and thats it!! Security cannot ask for ID because they have no business asking anyways, they cannot hold onto anyones ID, failure to ID with a security guard is not a crime. Another thing is that security guards need to actually see something happen THEMSELVES! They cant go based off what an employee says, otherwise they cant legally do anything. Theres no probable cause, Get better security that think they arent cops, at the end of the day its all about observe & report. Another thing when it comes down to security doing pat downs on males and having bags searched, the establishment needs to have signs posted stating bags will be searched and guys will be patted down

I went on one of their Thursday retro nights and wasnt really amused. No retro music, the place had an obvious mildewy odor, and doesnt looked very well taken care of. I know its a historic building but it could be revamped.

***disclaimer: do NOT try to bring your eye drops in here. They will freak out on you. According to one employee, “3 drops could kill someone.” Expect to just have dry eyes all night long.Now, if you’ve accepted you won’t be able to see most of the night because they took your eye drops, this place is pretty neat. There are tons of rooms, three floors, tons of bars. It’s cool that this place has such a long history in San Antonio.Vicki in the Wonder Woman bar is awesomeeeee. I love her.

Its always a good time at the Bonham if you go late enough. $3 for a vodka shot and pretty ok music on the first and second floor. Also, they often have make and female go-go dancers which is fun to watch.

I haven’t been in there since I was 18 and that’s been ages lol but it’s always crowded with wait at door. I drove someone there since they going to drink plus my son and told him it’s a place to have fun he agreed saying it wasn’t just fun it was going to be a great memory for him. Everyone should have it once and they’ll love it

Went Saturday & I had so much fun ! Everybody is so nice & the venue is big . I was expecting more hip hop & spanish but wasnt very much , I went to every floor . The bottom floor is my favorite over all !

Its technically a gay bar, but you will find all sorts of people here. Like a lot of clubs in general, there is a mix of girlfriends who get dressed up to go out on the town, guys on the prowl, and people who just like to drink and dance. Sometimes, it can feel slightly ghetto, but the cool architecture and renovated warehouse feel is unique to San Antonio clubs in this area.There are several different rooms, so you can choose where to hang out based on your music (and crowd) tastes. Note that it is not really near a strip of clubs, bars, or restaurants, so you will probably need to taxi/drive.

So much fun!!! Good beer prices and fast service! And the variety of music and different rooms was awesome. I think its supposed to be a gay club but honestly there was a huge mix of everything.

Hit or miss, too many people. Security needs to be more involved since there is too many people there. Always extremely dirty in there too. Nothing is clean. let that be a warning. The front staff is horrible at everything they do, when you are about to go in, let that really be the first impression of this place because your impression based on just the front staff alone is really going to be the reality of this hyped up place.

There for one hour and they kicked us out because my friend threw away my empty cup for me. The didnt check the cameras or anything, just assumed the worst. Now my friend is banned

Ill just start this from the first moment I walked into the door. I had never been here before and didnt know the rules so I had a cigarette in hand. I was rudely yelled at that, You cant smoke inside. So i was going to exit and finish my cigarette, but being the gentleman I was raised as I held the door open for the women entering the building. I was rudely yelled at again that I could not even smoke on the porch and I needed to go outside. Naturally I oblidged. All I can say is, theres a better way to talk to people than like theyre garbage.

Went to the HOTTEST spot in San Antonio last night and it was poppin!!! I personally love the ball room with the best bartender Danny hes fast, service with a smile, and very enjoyable to watch while waiting.

This use to be an awesome place to go to when i was younger. This was my 1st gay bar/club. It has pushed out so many gay guys. Now all I see are a bunch of straight perverted men ruining the vibe trying to hook up with the girls. This is not a gay bar anymore. Sad.

From my own personal experinces...best bar and dance bar in San Antonio. Lgbt friendly. Its consider a gay bar...but on average its mixed. But dif consider one of the main gay bars in the area. Has a huge dance floor...in addition 2 more dance area on 3 levels. The best drink special. Hip hop latin on top level. EDM on 2nd level and more EDM and some top 40 1st level main dance floor. 18yr welcome.

My friend and I went to this club and we went to the restroom (they weren’t labeled) at least from what we saw, but this bouncer came up to us immediately as we entered the restroom and started harassing us telling us a ‘woman’ can’t be in the restroom I went ahead and explained to him that I thought this was a ‘gay’ club and the I thought the restrooms were gender neutral and he started arguing with me, trying to fight me in the club! People even got involved because of how much of big deal he was making it was extremely embarrassing and insulting. I even told the man that I was not trying to argue with him but he proceeded to try to fight me even told me to ‘shut up and get out of here’ he followed me all the way down and I went to speak to a ‘manager’ who was no help at all. Very upsetting that this club does not care about the LGBT community. The only care about taking your money. Please take your business elsewhere.

This is the best place to have fun! You dont have to be gay to have fun at The Bonham! You can feel free to be yourself and enjoy great music and awesome drinks in a great environment!

Nice place to go for in Downtown for three different floors with different levels of music. The best thing about this place is ‘All are welcome’. Happening place in town especially for tourists to enjoy san antonio at its best with multicultural crowd.

Big place with multiple djs. Usually pops around midnight. I wouldnt recommend minors trying to drink in this establishment as they are very good in catching them. It is 18+ but of course minors have to pay more id think its $10 and 21+ is $5. You follow them on fb they usually have ways for you to get in free with a passcode. Fav bartender is david z. Makes awesome shots. There is an outside patio for drinking amd smoking along with an outside bar.

Been here twice to party with my wife and cousin. It is very secure, security is always patrolling. I love the different rooms for different sounds. Drinks are inexpensive as well!

I had been going to this place every weekend untill one of the barrenders got my friends baned because she “saw all of them in a stall (they are very small stalls) consuming drugs” I called the manager and she was very rude calling me a liar putting words in my mouth that I never said! I’ve met some very great people here but never again going back! Horrible staff 😢After reading a few reviews the real problem is the bartenders!

What ever you do, make sure you don’t stumble. My wife accidentally knocked a drink over when she went to hug me and they had our eye on us pretty hard after that and shortly after, they actually kicked us out. Drinks are really small compared to the price and crowd is awkward when it comes to dancing. Garbage place and bar, save your money and don’t go.

I was asked at the door by security how many drinks I had before entry and I responded enough then he asked how many drinks to be specific, so I told him I had just arrived from the Marine Corps ball so I had about 4 beers and he said Im gonna deny your entry. Shocked. Im dissapointed I came here. He probably doesnt like military or maybe he was just bothered when i said i had enough. I definitely didnt mean it in a bad way though

This place was so fun! It was within walking distance from our hotel and the streets were well lit. The music is lively and you are never in want of a dancing partner.

Its an okay club with many different kinds of people, but there were several fights. One of them including a bartender there. Other than that it was good music and an okay time.

This place isnt handicap friendly... I couldnt do the stairs but I forced myself couldnt even make it to my car at the end of the because of the stairs and parking sucks

I was patted down by armed security prior to entry and counted four armed guards patrolling the inside. Ive been to gay bars in NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans, San Francisco, Detroit, Milwaukee and Dallas. This was the first time Ive ever felt unsafe inside an LGBT bar.

I really liked the different types of music they had to offer, great sound system and I like the way they have there lighting set up. This will always be one of my favorite places to go.

Please don’t bother coming here. It really isn’t worth it. The front security guard was so rude and aggressive. Why have a guard so aggressive towards women? Management has a serious issue with its employees.

I went for $3 cocktail night and the bartenders were so good! The the three stories have me plenty of room to explore and the back patio is so nice!

I really don’t like the idea that men are the only ones being patted down. I asked the Female security why they didnt pat down women and she said because men wear heavier clothing . I guess next time im gonna wear a short dress and see if that is really the case. Sexist

Someone needs to let the restroom attendant know that tips are earned, because it is absolutely ridiculous to ask for a tip for ONE MINT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER! As I grabbed one he AGGRESSIVELY grabbed my hand and FORCED ME to drop it. Idk if he was homophobic or what, but ASKING for a tip and being UNNECESSARILY AGGRESSIVE, WONT GET YOU ANYTHING.

Well i am not sure what the problem is but the manager lee every tiime i visit he always gives me a mean look likes he wants to fight me i dont know why perhapps that is his sad personality or his sad life overall get over it lee and move on life is too short enjoy it

Female bartender got upset because I didnt tip her enough. Tips are based off customer service from my experience. If she dont like her job then she needs to find other employment.

It can be hit or miss but thats any club or bar, even the most popular ones. Check their socials for events if you want to know when things are happening, pretty fun spot.

STUPID FRICKIN SECURITY LIKE THIS ISNT A HIGH SCHOOL PROM. After spending 20 bucks on a drink which Im sure the chick was charging others with it... I let my GIRLFRIEND have TWO sips but she was underage.... sorry, arrest me for two sips... She didnt want it anymore, but the Securtiy was not having it. With a full jack and coke I insisted on tossing it away and just having the rest of the night with her with no drink. We ended up getting kicked out anyway. Seriously needs to loosen up...

The Bonham Exchange security booted me out, as a VIP member to the comic con after party for approaching Jon Bernthal for a photo when I talked to him earlier. No other reason. No other reason whatsoever. So this must be how we treat people that pay 300$ that come into your club.
