We went on Wednesday, All Night Happy Hour, where the drinks are $8. The bartender was really nice, funny and provided good service. This is such a chill place to hangout with friends to talk, laugh, play games and have some drinks. I want to go back when they have live music. Highly recommend!

Such an awesome place! We went here to watch a jazz band play. The overall atmosphere was soo cool. you would never know from the outside. The drinks were good as well. A little pricey but still good. Very hard to hear your friends over the music and to talk to the sever. They don’t serve food but they keep the drinks and water coming so that’s a plus. Overall, great place to check out!

Absolutely wonderful vibe. The live performance was amazing. One drawback is that no food is served. But the good thing is you can bring food in. The other is limited parking. Luckily, we found a spot nearby on the street.

The Willis is a very nice place to hear live sets. The bartending is exceptional. The last time I went, I was not pleased with entering the establishment and the seating. The people at the door really dont display personalities. It was my fault I only made a reservation for two. But I came with an extra person. Therefore, i was not allowed in no seats available. The way it was handled was less than exceptional. Just my opinion, but I believe the large booth price and drink minium of $200 is wasted space. More people could be seated. All the large booths were empty but one. I spent well over the drink minium when I did come in after the live set. Im just saying that if it wasnt for my wife convincing me to come in, after the set, I was no longer patronizing this establishment. I had come here at least 8 times before, no problems. It was also part of my 37th anniversary celebration. Thats part of my disappointment.

Visiting from Nashville for the weekend looking for city hidden gems and we definitely found it at Willis Show Bar!!It was a great date night choice for grown and sexy. The live band was amazing, played well together and the drinks were delicious. I would definitely revisit if I’m in Detroit.

You will never be disappointed in the quality of music, drinks and overall environment! Very safe adult date night choice! My husband and I go weekly! Be sure to make reservations because it fills up fast!

Wonderful hospitality in this vintage bar! We went here on a recommendation to celebrate my BIL’s birthday and the overall atmosphere was so classy. Felt like you were stepping back in time in this beautifully restored jazz bar. The servers were so attentive and kept ours drinks full. Great bartender didn’t blink an eye when we ordered an aviation cocktail and a Sazerac. The drinks (and selections) were very good. It’s live music shows so though it’s cozy and intimate setting once the music starts you won’t be able to carry a conversation. They don’t serve food but it appeared they allow outside food. This is definitely a place I’d go back for a night out.

So fun. I ended up here for a private holiday event but it was and is always a VIBE! Go for the live music but stay for the dancing at the end and the people! Drinks are STRONG, classy handcrafted cocktails!

I havent been out in a while so my daughter recommended this place I I went in a I paid 100dollars for a couple of tables! I was later approached bye a young lady and was told we had to spend at least 200 dollars for drinks and we were only at 80 dollars! Then I was told! She thought we booked online! I felt really uncomfortable! But I loved the loved the Live band !

This is a little hidden gem. We went a few hours before closing to enjoy some drinks and good music ($5 cover). The drinks was good. Our waiter was super nice. The Dj was on point with the music. The manager was super friendly and came and thanked us for coming in. I love the set up. I wish they a little dance floor and maybe some snacks to purchase. I can’t wait to go back to experience the live music.

A cool place with live music and DJs that spin actual records. Drinks are great as well. Parking is not bad. I am usually able to park on the side of the building or close if I have to park on the street. Eat before you get there bc they dont usually serve food. (Sometimes there is food served). You dont really miss the food bc the atmosphere & music is always on point.

Weve been to this amazing show bar several times. We love the ambiance and comfy seating. The house band is talented and plays a wide variety of music. They offer many yummy specialized cocktails. Come check it out and you wont be disappointed. Be sure and make a reservation.

Came here while in the city of Detroit to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary. Cover was reasonable and the drinks were good. My only concern with Detroits rebirth is the introduction of taking the gratuity before presenting the bill.While this new way of doing business may level the playing floor for men and women in the service industry, it should be announced or posted.

A hidden treasure. First time visiting , prices were reasonable, and the band was awesome. Wish they served food but we will be back .

What a hidden Gem of a music lounge. Loved everything about it. Parking was available all around too. We will be back with friends.

We had a lovely evening at Willis Show Bar. I loved the charming and authentically restored interior design. The staff were exceptional. Friendly but very professional, a level of elevated service that is hard to find. The music was great, and the cocktails delicious! A couple things to note for first timers. They do have a dress code, so check their website first. Also, this is a cocktail lounge, not a restaurant. Make sure you make dinner plans elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from.

Went to see my grandson play here, it was disco night. Very cool atmosphere and music that all ages enjoyed the show. Ill go again as its a time trip to other eras. Drinks are high priced, but didnt see any food there. Highly recommend for any age or genre.

My boyfriend has surprised me with reservations here 2 times and I absolutely love it here. The retro atmosphere is my favorite! Weve had great service both times. The latest visit was a ticketed event to see Ben Sharkey, he was amazing! I would recommend this place a thousand times over if you like retro locations and some jazzy retro music. ❤️❤️❤️

This is a really nice place. Its clear they care about curating the atmosphere, which shows from the moment you pass through their curtained door. You should definitely check it out but be aware that if you dont have a reservation, they will give you the run around at the door.

I chose to celebrate my birthday with 15 of my loved ones and When I say we had a GREAT time. The music was on point the atmosphere the VIBE. I really enjoyed every minute. Drinks were good. Our server was amazing. The door attendant was super nice and helpful. Security was polite. And Sarah manager was really nice making sure everything was set.I will definitely come back!!!

Great place for craft cocktails made by knowledgeable, friendly, bartenders. They offer live music and DJs. The place is cozy; it has an upscale, yet casual and non-pretentious, feel. Most nights there is a small crowd. Its a good spot for couples who want a romantic feel, large groups, friends/family, or even solo patrons. There may be a cover depending on the day/event. Sometimes, there are pop-ups for a good meal (though those usually end early). They close early during the week.

Great environment and chill space with a fun atmosphere on a chill Tuesday night. Definitely test this spot out on a low-key Tuesday. Itll be great and youll probably want to go back. Cant speak for any other day of the week but they definitely got my vote on a Tuesday in Detroit (on an oh so cold night in the D) 😉!

Unassuming from the outside, swanky on the inside. Came here on a whim after getting stuck in Detroit thanks to a canceled flight. Paid the cover and caught some great live music.

This place is poppin’Got there early on a Friday without a reservation (but you should definitely make reservations if you get there after 8p). We sat right in from of the band.The bartender was absolutely charming and drinks equally so.We listened to the Heavy Petters which is a 4-piece Jazz band who were spectacular! Even fantastic if you’re just causally interested in jazz music.Also a lovely burlesque dancer made her way through the club twice during the night. No pics included so you’ll have to check it out yourself!

Well, frankly... I forgot where I was when I stepped into the Show Bar. Decor is dope.. Uniformed staff (nice touch) made it feel old school early to mid 1900s but that was it. That was the nail in the coffin to take you somewhere else. DRINKS were great and huge variety of bourbons. Sit at the bar or grab drink with your people in a booth. There is room for everyone. Mixed grown crowd and again room for everyone. I had a NY snap back with button down and felt at homeThank you guys.. Big up for repping Cass corridor DETROIT..

Just need to lower drink prices, and get a full kitchen.. everyone wants things other than Peanuts. Fried chicken wings is always a great goal to add a bar☹️Yes you do serve more than Peanuts and that menu and you just gave sucks. I’ve been there on those nights , The pop up chefs are the best thing you could’ve ever come up with.

Attended the Cocktail Codex with Alex Day and David Kaplan at the Willis Show Bar for the first time. We met Sean Patrick the owner as well. Amazing bar and event. Like stepping back to a different time. Unassuming on the outside but once you steep in the doorman is there to greet you, making you feel important. Sleek Art Deco interior with cool lighting. The jazz trio there that night (sorry forget the name) was excellent! Bartenders were friendly and made tasty cocktails. Try the Willis! The burlesque dancer was classy with a good sense of humour and put on a fun show. We will definitely return to the Willis Show Bar.

I recently went with a group of 8 friends for the Friday night show, the Heavy Petters. We had a great time! The vibe is fun, swanky, and provides a wonderful experience and mood whether a couple on a romantic night out, want to enjoy some good jazz with a friend, or a whole group of friends. The drinks were tasty; I asked for the bartender to get creative with a tequila drink for me the second round and everyone was scrambling to order the same thing it was so good.We wish that the set had been longer than 40 minutes and the burlesque had been more than one song, so in the future well probably catch the 10p and 11:30p back to back rather than going to the 8p and waiting around for an hour plus before the next show. We definitely plan to go back for the happy hour and weeknight shows!

Very fun, very hip(ster). Great decor and feel, amazing staff! Id give 5 stars if theyd figure out that the building is small and doesnt require the music to be turned up to 11. For a show bar they do a very poor job with the audio. Muddy vocals regardless of whos performing, a cancophony of noise that prevents you from hearing the great sound of who they brought in that night.

Fab for the gab. Intimate cozy corner snazzy. Just the right spot to meet and seat folk for small talk laughter. DJ grovin kept the dancin movin as the crowd munched and crunched tasty Tuesday night flare. $9 special drinks on point.

This place is TIGHT from a space standpoint. I feel bad for bands of 3 or more, we watched a quartet with a singer and they were right on top of eachother. Drinks are top notch, along with the fit and finish of the Bartenders outfits, whom are super courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. Cabaret performance is among the people as the stage is much too small to do much of anything other than stand.

Nice attempt to bring back the old Detroit style bars. The staff is very nice and the bar tenders are very professional. They have excellent cocktails, the music is nice but its very short, the only thing I would change a little bit is having food! Its nice to have few drinks and grab a bite with them!

Love the story of this place. Remodeled beautifully, very good service. Drinks were a bit pricey. Was very surprised that the entire show only lasted 51 minutes, wanted more.

We went for the Beyonce Tribute. The singer was AMAZING!! I love the how the crowd (including us) sang along with her. I had a small problem with the drink I ordered, but the wait staff courteously and quickly corrected it. The wait staff deserve Kudos for handling such a small but busy crowd. This is truly a go to spot for good music and drinks. Will definitely be going back soon!

We absolutely love Willis. It’s always amazing music, great service, and a diverse crowd. It’s one of our favorite spots to bring visitors for a special time.

Went here with a small group of friends and we absolutely loved it. Upon initial walk in you will see a checkin desks with complementary coach check, then going beyond the curtains are booths, tables, and a bar that resembles something from maybe the late 1960-70s that has been completed renovated up to the new modern Detroit feel. The night we attended they had an amazing DJ who played late 90s/early 00s R&B hits who then rolled it into our event theme of the night. Staff was great and the drinks were a 10! I highly recommend them towards the 25-35 crowd and will certainly be back.

Nice! Went here for a specific event to see the punk band Decliner. Its a different band for the Willis Bar, but they are awesome!They dont serve food here, just drinks. They suggest the Indian restaurant next door. You can bring in your own food, which is cool.Drinks are sooo strong. Good. But do kinda taste a little bit the same. Wait staff was spot on great.

Was here for the Detroit jazz festival after party, such a dope spot! The stage is behind the bar, never seen that before. The bartender was a master, best cocktails.

I was blown away, my husband and I was bar hopping for date night and stumbled upon this spot on google maps. We arrived and once we were inside it felt like the best kept secret. It was Afro night, we experienced a great crowd, music was phenomenal (neo soul vibe) as well as a live act by a detroit native neo soul rap artist and live band…this was the icing on the cake! We are definitely returning customers and this is our new going out spot❤️

Has no parking for their customers so they are always parking in my works parking lot that clearly says private parking and the people can be real annoying. Weve found condoms and puke busted bottles ect. We ask the staff to make announcements to the patrons to move their vehicles and not park but its not doing any good.

Should be called whatcha talking about Willis bar. Paid $40 in cover to have a seat at the bar with no one playing. Make sure there is a show prior to paying a cover. Wont be back.Detroit had too many other options...

Great vibes, deliciously strong drinks, FIRE cover band - The At Will Band - we had a good time! The bartenders were friendly and informative, quick and knowledgeable. Definitely telling friends and will for sure be back... even found some new music - an EP with original music from The At Will Band! The lighting and layout even seemed well thought out. I came on a Friday night. ;-) Only complaint (and its not even really a complaint because it is what it is) was there is no food, so eat before you come!

The place was small & crowded. We had the option to stand by the bathrooms or by the entrance and we were continuously in the way of staff. The few tables that were there were all reserved, and there was a $15 each cover charge. We had been told it was a live band venue and not just a DJ. We had a drink and left as it just wasn’t what we were looking for that night.

First time there, and saw Apropos perform his Christmas show on 12/23/22. What a great place with friendly staff, top-notch entertainment! Will definitely go back.....sidenote...we drove 44 miles in a snowy, windy, slippery highway, and I can only say.....it was like getting to open a Christmas present early!!!

When youre on a night on the town, this is a great place for drinks and live music. A layover of sorts.

Treated myself for my birthday to see Kevin Christian and this amazing band do a tribute to Michael Jackson for his up coming birthday this performance was excellent. I ordered a margarita it was good. They do not sell food here. I was disappointed but you can ordered thru door dash. I didn’t want to wait so they do sell bags of chips that had to take my food edge off. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The only down side is the street parking I don’t like walking around nobody’s corners due to being safe. Valet parking would be nice. I still would give a10 overall.

Friendly professional friendly staff, clean, spaced out set up, lighting is perfect for all the events. Pricing is great, there is enough staff to accomodate everyone. Great environment. I lost my ID and they went above and beyond to locate it.

Really fun atmosphere. Wait staff was knowledgeable about cocktails and even made an off the menu drink after hearing what we liked. Band was great and you can tell they enjoyed performing.

This venue was unique. The music was cool and the space itself was neat. The burlesque dancing was just a girl parading from one end of the place on the upper floor then back on the lower floor while stripping. It just wasnt what we expected. The special drinks were also really awful. But, Id go back. It was a cool experience.

Super cool spot. Excellent sounds system and an excellent band. Not too loud (cant handle that any more), and made for a great night out. Not a big beer selection, mixed drinks are obviously their specially. We got there at 730 for their 8:00 set. Music lasted 45 minutes, including about a 5-10 minute cabaret girl dancing around the audience. We left at 9:00, but they still had another music set at 10:00 and 11:00.

We went to the 8pm show on a Saturday. The tickets are only $8 per person, which is a great deal. They dont have food, but they do offer snacks. A small bowl of popcorn is $4. Some peanut butter filled pretzels are $5. The drinks are about $13 and are mostly ice in a small glass. So, fine, thats where they make their money. The live band was good. The nights music theme was A Tribute to Funk. They played some James Brown, Motown, and music like that, and it was good. Then the Burlesque Show started. It is one person. There is no stage for her, so she just walks down the bar area. She did her thing for 1 song, maybe 5 minutes, and that was it. I primarily went there for the Burlesque Show. Maybe the later show is better? I felt like it was not well done.

This place is super fun. The drinks seem to have gotten better recently, and the music is always great. Its fun to come back and check out a different artist or group. Make a reservation if you want a table.

Went with a few friends to check out their house band- the show and it was amazing. The venue is intimate and the decor is very chic. The band is throughout the venue which makes the experience immersive and the drinks were great.

Incredible, intimate music venue with good drink specials and a wide selection. The staff were very attentive and even accommodated my party and I to seat us during a full house. I will absolutely be coming back!

The atmosphere is perfect. Very retro. Super pretty! The customer service is awesome and the talent is top tier. Perfect for a date night or a birthday party of you appreciate old school music. They also have a DJ before, after and between shows. It was perfect. They dont have food though so eat before you go.

Our family was here for my wife’s 60th Birthday this past Friday and had a wonderful time. Great music and personal service from our waiter. Drinks were great. Would love longer music set since band was so good. We will be back.

Went online purchased tickets for event. Only to get a call hours later. Telling me that the event was sold out and they wouldnt be able to honor the tickets I had already purchased.

While it was a slow(er) night, spending an evening at Willis Show Bar is always a great time. I highly recommend coming thru whether you want to get your swerve on and dance or enjoy sippin on top shelf everything, this spot has got you covered. TBH I was surprised they had 12 yr yamazaki available but they did and naturally I had to order it bc its that good. The bartenders helping us out were Liz and Grace. Amazing service and attention to detail. Plus they laughed at our corny dad jokes. Whether they genuinely found it funny is irrelevant lol.

Love this place. Great cocktails, skilled bartenders, knowledgeable staff, the house band is awesome as were all of the guest singers and MCs. The interior is very cool and their glassware/barware selection is super neat-o.

Derrick, the bartender, is very knowledgeable about drinks and liquors. A few times I had no idea what I wanted but he made me something delicious that wasnt even on the menu.The vibes in this place are really cool, and the band is awesome. I would highly recommend this bar, in a few months this will definitely be the hottest bar in midtown.

Really great atmosphere. The show was well done and a lot of fun. Music during the show was a little loud for what it seemed was the desired atmosphere. The temperature control was not ideal. The a.c. was blasting and required a jacket to be put on.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and we had a great time. Wonderful ambience, service was exceptional, and the live entertainment did not disappoint.

Excellent place for live music, very intimate setting. Ittakes you back to the feelings of the late 50s and 60s. never disappointed in the drinks and if you want something out of the ordinary the mixologist is always willing to please your palette.

I love love loved my experience, elegant, very adult, the burlesque was just enough. No worries about the Willis not severing food, it’s a great place to stop after dinner, when you’re not quite ready to call it a night, and looking for tasty interesting drink choices and great ambience. I will definitely go back.

After months of planning a special evening for my girlfriend, I was delighted to learn that the pop-up food being served to accompany the Motown review would be vegan & gluten-free (PERFECT for my beautiful blonde goddess! 😊❤️) I ordered us one of everything, and there is absolutely no exaggeration when I claim that my lady & I enjoyed EVERYTHING we were served! Speaking of service, the bar staff was EXCEPTIONAL! 👍🏻 My lady & I stayed to watch the burlesque show, which was classy, tasteful and almost reminiscent of prohibition-era Detroit. The only aspect of the evening I could have done without was the highly aggressive, over-the-top flirtation that the host/lead singer carried on with me while behaving in a blatantly rude manner towards the lovely gal who was seated right next to me. This type of behavior is NOT what I would expect from an upscale venue, including the Willis Show Bar. Please consider hiring a hostess who is capable of displaying professionalism when it is necessary.

The best drinks Ive ever had.... the paloma is life changing. The performance was beautiful, playful and entertaining and the band was great!!! Make a reservation and dress to impress!

Second time to the WSB had a blast both times. The live music was empeccable and the DJ really knew how to shake it down. Coctails were very good. All around nice people and a gorgeous environment. Totally dig the Willis Show Bar.

People of color are not respected or accepted in this place of business. I was so out done with the way they treated my family. A woman of color money spends the same way, a Caucasian woman’s money spends. I Do Not Recommend Willis Show Bar to people of color. They prefer us to be the entertainment and not the customer; like old days. Please Do Not Patronize!! This Is Not The South!!!

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Everything about this place is on point. The bartenders were on their A game, the atmosphere is amazing, moderately priced drinks. Great historic bar in a very historic area of Detroit.

This was such a gem to find!!!! First of all it seems as though its in a random/run-down location, but when you walk in you are in a hole other place. The gentleman at the door was extremely kind; he was polite, friendly, and gave a good introduction to what was behind the black curtain (the actual bar). There was complimentary coat check and champagne was provided to us upon arrival. We were brought into the bar and sat actually at the bar which was directly in front of the band. The bar tender was super friendly and the cocktails were fresh and very good (totally on par with Detroits cocktail scene). We must have tried at least 9 cocktails between my group and none disappointed. The vibe was 1920s, and the decor matched the vibe. I looked around and was pleasantly surprised at the placement of all the tables; you could view the band from anywhere. The DJ was amazing, and the band that followed was even better. The burlesque performance was also great- only comment is maybe the dancer could preform longer than a couple minutes or more often. All in all it was a great night out, great entertainment, great drinks, and I will be back again!

Nice lowkey vibe. Great music on Tuesdays. I went here for my birthday and it was a blast. The drinks were very nicely curated, and the music provided the perfect vibe for doing a 2 step at the bar or on your seat.

Beautiful venue with great shows & artists. The Willis staff is friendly, attentive and offers a healthy selection of creative concoctions. Overall a wonderful atmosphere restored in the Citys original Cass Corridor.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Tiny bar with the slowest bartenders. 3 of them plus a barback couldnt handle servicing the bar beyond the two seats immediately in front of them. The bar wasnt even crowded yet (10:30pm) and four of us were blatantly ignored for over 45 minutes sitting at the bar while others were served drinks immediately. We were a party of four. Two of us went to the sidebar (which was less crowded) where Regan was bartending - she seemed to purposefully ignore them. My friend had to quite literally wildly wave her arms to get someone to finally even acknowledge her. The barback stopped in to lie that hell get our drinks made. Two of us then sat center stage. This time Regan, the barback, and the bartender with locs again failed to even acknowledged us. When finally someone got us a drink it had been 45 minutes, and they finally said they couldnt make one of the drinks we asked for. At this point, its time to go. Sadly, one of us gave her card to the bar so we had to wait for extremely long all over again just to close the tab. We watched Regan service others while ignoring our request to close our tab. We basically had to wave her down and shout. It was quite ridiculous. Couldnt leave fast enough. Will not return.

Extremely rude owner/manager, for no reason. To be fair my visit was before the pandemic but it has bothered me ever since. I would never go back. It’s unfortunate because the concept of the bar is great.

I was surprised when I first visited this bar. The live jazz band was very good and the Burlesque dancer was a surprise but very entertaining. A different experience for a bar than your usual.

Nice remodelization, clever attire for the bar keeps and sub par liquor menu no Stoli. No hot food! Choose between a bowl of chips, popcorn or nuts ($5, $6 & $10)?!! A very small stage.

Step back in time where men wore top hats and ribald burlesque was a gentlemans getaway. Layer on the unpretentious Detroit hospitality. It feels less like a bar as much as a gathering of friends around the fireplace.
