Wonderful historic Detroit music venue! Nice handicapped seating in a couple of different locations, at the back of the main floor or up near the front at the side of the stage. We had row J for Richard Marx and the view was perfect! Great acoustics too. The elevator is more of a wheelchair lift and you do need an attendant to let you on and off, but it worked just fine. Lot parking is available very close by, just across the street, so its easy to get in and out without having to fuss with a parking garage. Multiple bars so the lines for a drink arent too bad! Looking forward to next time!
We were here to see Super Freak, the play based on Rick James life. It was sooooooo good. Do yourself a favor and see it when it comes to your city. I drove from Cleveland, OH, to see it. My husband is a fan. There is a very small Cafe type place inside where you can sit and have a small bite to eat if you want. There is a bar on each level of sitting. Very convenient! From what I gather, this place is legendary. A lot of people got their start here.People will be people. The show started promptly at 8pm but people kept coming in super late. Lights were down so the ushers were getting frustrated with them. Mostly because the customers were frustrated. They were late tho!All in all, great show. Id definitely come back! Stokely was awesome as adult prime time Rick James. The lady playing the mother can SANG! Baaaaaaaby, she has the voice! And Tina Marie actress...showed all the way out.
I have seen many plays, performances, concerts, etc. over the decades at the Music Hall. Most recently, I had an opportunity to attend Jecaryous Johnsons portrayal of Rick James story. I enjoyed it immensely and would highly recommend fellow Detroiters to get out and see the production. You will not be disappointed if you are a fan of Rick, a fan of music, or a historical buff!
This place is amazing to see a show. The venue is quite the architectural show in itself. Very intimate stage that gives a great view from almost every sest in the house. Acoustics give full depth of the performances. The Music Hall, along with the Fox and the Filmore, is what gives Detroit a solid reputation for great intimate concert venues.
It has a little age on it, but that’s just history talking… It’s a nice, quaint place that makes you feel close to the artists. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Awesome location, just down the street from Comerica Park, Ford Field and the Hilton Garden Inn. Plenty of good places within walking distance to eat and drink. I shall return!
Actually this was inside of the Music Hall… Arethas Jazz Cafe. The venue itself was a nice cozy spot but way too many tables were crammed in the space. Tickets sold were far more than the space permitted. Too crowded to hear well and it was a disservice to the performers because the sound engineers often had the sounds uneven and screeching microphones. The staff were attentive and gave as good a service as they could amongst the sardine packed crowd. The acts were varied and many… they needed better sound engineers.
Nice theater but the box seats are actually obstructed view and should be sold as such. Paid more for these seats than orchestra which would have been a better view. Could not see 1/3 of the stage. Ticketmaster “map” mis-represents the location of the seats. Very disappointed in our first time here.
Absolutely beautiful venue with comfortable seats. Not a bad seat in the house. We didnt go to the Jazz Cafe, but I hope to the next time we are there.
Historic building. Sight lines are good. There are stairs to get everywhere so be aware. Staff seemed a bit confused at opening. Kept us waiting in the too small lobby well past door time. Parking is a thing but you expect it.
I never knew this place existed. The Music Hall Center isnt as fancy as the Fox Theater a couple blocks away, but it has a serious advantage over the Fox Theater when it comes to a feeling of genuine authenticity and nostalgia as soon as you enter the building. I cant believe I have been in the dark about this place for so long. We will definitely be back!
I dont know the one usher name, but she was great helping me and my wife find better seats when we were not happy with the ones we purchased...the Rick James show was great!! we got to meet the producer of the show... A really great person.. we meet and talked with and took pictures with James beautiful daughter Ty 😊... Everybody was so down to earth and very inviting.. May GOD continue to bless the show.. To be a great great success!!!And Bless everyone involved 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Cozy, old-style theatre that seats about 2,000 for smaller acts. Sound was very good too. Easy to find (very near Ford Field and Comerica Park). I purchased nearby parking ahead of time using the ParkWhiz app and was very satisfied.
I would have gave 5 stars 🌟, if some of the entertainers had not came down into the crowd. The female was okay, it was the guy who came off the stage and dance with a woman who wasnt wearing a mask during the entire show. Unknown of woman status. Now on to the show. The musical was wonderful. Everyone did what was needed to have the crowd ready for a good time. I want to say to the one that is called Preacher man, YOU know you were on point! Your vocal cords took everyone to church! Keep doing what YOU love ❤ and watch how GOD keeps blessing you Preacher man! Please enjoy the pictures. I didnt leave ANYONE out.Thank you for providing a WONDERFUL musical.
Went to see Kenny Wayhe Sheppard here. The venue was smaller with excellent comfortable seating and easy bathroom access and the bar was reasonably priced (unlike CoAmerica park right down the street) and kept the line moving well.Easy to get around. Hope the protect this theater when the build a new one right next door!
Music hall staff sabotage the concert, Atlanta Stars, with only one microphone working. Thats tomato and I like a refund asap! That stage performance without microphone working was a complete disaster. I would like my money back asap! Terrible venue for a concert, whole show technical issues with microphone is not sad. Worse as show went on.. the music hall technical issues seem to be on the technician. I will like a refund.
Enjoyed the venue, but the concert I attended at the Music Hall were having technical difficulties that interfered with the performance. However, the Music Hall itself, is a beautiful venue and the ushers were helpful in locating seats. The bathrooms were clean. I would definitely return for other events!!
Just attended the Tony! Toni! Toné show, it was a fake concert, they had a fake Raphael in the corner dancing and that fake person didnt sing at all. This venue ripped everybody off tonight, very unfortunate!!
The staff was friendly and very helpful. However, they didnt have any security epic failure given the current environment.
Fantastic place for concerts. Not a bad seat in the place. Checking for next concert to come and watch. Lots of ushers to help find seats. Very attentive to what is happening around them.
This was a great intimate venue to see Clint Black. We are looking to see other bands performing there. Theres not a bad set in the house.
The building is beautiful and old. However, the elevators were down and we had to climb a lot of stairs to get to the balcony. There are absolutely no signs helping you to find the balcony and only 1 person who worked here was able to tell us where the balcony stairs are (hint: they are well hidden and no where near the more obvious stairs you can see) ( hint #2 if you find stairs that make you think you are exiting back out to the street then your on the right track)
Its a beautiful venue, downstairs is the Aretha Franklin jazz cafe, its quaint, beautifully decorated, great atmosphere, and a nice small menu, the best part for me is they feature amazing Detroit musicians, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back.
My experience was fabulous. The play itself was extremely well done. The venue is Superb.. The service was great All in all, a super night out.
I love how unabashedly classic they kept this theater! From the elevator with the mechanical doors to rather steep balcony seats to all the detailed etchings/carvings and prints all over the theater, you couldnt help but just love its charm. Absolutely beautiful. The selection of shows (usually classical/jazz based) is great. A must visit!
I had one of the best nights of my life at The Music Hall!!! Thanks for a great evening Tony!Toni Tone!
Went to the Aretha Jazz Cafe. Nice, small space. Get there early to get a seat. I did not eat, but of the small menu, the food looked delicious. Entertainment was good. Saw the band Level Rizon. They are awesome.
I loved it , the music was great and the vibe was great in the bar before the show. Morris Day was Amazing!
Went to Aretha Jazz Cafe. The entertainment was excellent, although there were a few technical difficulties with the sound system. They dont serve meals, only snack food, and they had already run out of sandwiches less than an hour into the show so we could only order fries and drinks. Seating was interesting as well. Unlike other jazz cafes that weve frequented, seating was not assigned. It was 1st come, 1st served, so you end up sharing tables with complete strangers. The tables arent numbered, and you must go to the bar if you want to order anything. They then have to try to find your table in the crowd as they arent numbered. I felt there could be a lot more organization such as wait staff coming to tables to take orders prior to show starting and having the tables numbered. It would also be nice if you could have an assigned table and not have to share it with others. All in all, it was still a very good experience and I would definitely go again.
I really enjoyed myself at the Music Hall with my family and friends. We need to go more often. The works was very respectful/polite/friendly all the staff greeted us. Id you havent been to The Music Hall baby yall need to go and you will have lots and lots of fun. Once again I would like to say thank you to The Music Hall staff keep up the good work.
A beautiful theatre. So much history in the building filled with amazing architecture. One of the best green rooms in the industry.
Loved the ease of parking. The theater is beautiful. The bar area was cozy. A great experience overall.
I enjoyed every show and the comfort of the establishment is nice and the hostesses and host are very polite and caring. Id recommend this establishment to everyone
Very nice place... wonderful people... good intermittent
This architectural time capsule from days bygone is as comfortable as it is romantic. It takes you back as soon as you step foot into the lobby. When you enter the auditorium, you are taken by the sheer height and depth of the building, and you cant help but stare in admiration. I attended four performances at the Michigan Thespian Festival there, and never wanted to leave. These pictures taken from the 2nd balcony, the highest up.(Edit: Said 3rd balcony, not 2nd; there are only two balconies)
LOVED IT! Beautiful theater inside and out. Every seat has a good view. Seeing Michael W. Smith there in concert was amazing! I am looking forward to coming back and even going to the Arthera Franklin Cafe in the same building to get something to eat and watch live jazz. This is a gem for Detroit!
Great venue for a live performance. There are a lot of restaurant choices in the area for before and after an event
The musical is very nice I would like it if they have more children shows that the family can go to. But overall it was nice and they also have a bar as well.
Loved My Visit Today..The Representative Went An Extra Mile With Her Patience as I Decided What Price Range in Ticket Purchase I Wanted and Then Making Sure My Seating Was Best Suitable for My Needs, As Well as her Boss. A Big Thank You And Shout Out to Lanice Addison and Cindy Morgan.. Greatly Appreciated Ladies For Making My Visit and Purchase A Wonderful Experience 💕🤗 💪🏾
Friendly and professional staff. Great venue with good acoustics and aesthetics.
Loved how close to the stage you can be! Evelyn King had a great show!!
Great place in downtown Detroit to see a show. Leave early as parking and inner-city traffic can be challenging. Old-school and intimate with a good deal of history. I saw the young piano prodigy, Ethan Bortnick, there recently and it really was a fun show. Nice little bar inside and you can take your drink to your seat. Im giving 4 stars and not 5 because the bathrooms were leaking. Cmon, guys, get it together. Otherwise, a wonderful slice of Detroit musical history you must experience.
The vibe was unlike anything Ive experienced. Great show, great venue!
Fabulous evening last night at the Detroit Music Hall in Detroit! Really friendly and helpful staff greeting us with smiles. Old building with great character and clean bathrooms. Easy parking around the corner. We were in Row V and had clear view of stage for awesome performance by America. Would definitely visit this venue again.
Just bought tickets for Michael Franks. Very helpful and nice service from Candice.
Had a wonderful time at the Music Hall this weekend. Plenty of staff on hand to assist with seating. Also multiple bars so the lines were pretty short. Love what theyve done with the Aretha Jazz bar in the basement. Very quaint vibe.
Show was most enjoyable entire cast complemented! Ushers were the most as well.
Very comfortable room to watch your favorite music acts
Great concert venue. Not a bad seat in the house.
The Aretha Jazz Cafe on Foxxy Gwens Day Wednesday 😍 amazing experience. The wings were good, my drink was nice, and the entertainment by Gwen Foxx was unmatched. I will definitely visit and take some friends next time.
This beautiful venue offers excellent acoustics in a classic concert hall. It really deserves 5 stars for the facility and 2 stars for the management. During the Gregory Porter concert (on January 29, 2017), members of the audience who entered late (as late as 56 minutes after the start of the concert) were not held back. They were allowed by the ushers to congregate and banter loudly in the aisles. There was much commotion, making it difficult to enjoy the music. Why cant the Music Hall deny seating until intermission for late arriving members of the audience? The lack of decent guest management is truly detrimental, and will prevent me from attending concerts here in the future.
It was definitely an experience... The acoustics was a bit much for me at times... While I enjoyed the concert of the Celtic women and the bag pipes ... The sound was too high pitched for me at times.
Still a wonderful place. It was clean and still just as beautiful as always.
We are excited for every Music Hall event because they always strive to deliver a top notch experience.
Loved this venue. Every seat is good.
Love the atmosphere of the Music Hall. It is a great venue to see any type of show
What a surprise! Comfortable theater seating, friendly staff, reasonable prices in the bar!And the ladies lounge ( restroom) you will be transported back to a 1920s Hollywood setting! Beautiful place all around.excellent sound system
Saw a concert there recently. Nice staff! Great view, seems like there are no bad seats. The bar tender was great & our drinks were good! Take a card, as they dont take cash. Beautiful theater! Go if you get a chance!
This place is falling apart. Look up and see the plaster and paint falling off. And why was it so much smoke coming from the lights on stage, dont the have fans to cool the lights? I thought it was a fire starting. Lets talk about the seats from hell. The seats are so close and uncomfortable, your blood will stop flowing in your legs. Spirit airline seats feels like heaven compared to these seats. Im 54 and it hurt my knees sitting there. And dont think about wearing a dress , the person seated in front of you dont have to try very hard to see up it. I was ready to leave before the play was over, but we wasnt the only one with that ideal, 8 people tried to, but The elevator stop working and we all had to go down 4 very dark floors(no lights on) to get out this death trap. I dont wont to die, so I wont be back till they put some money into this place and make it safer and more comfortable than it is.
Golen Ram productions had an amazing show there. The music hall is a historic and beautiful beautiful.
Nice theater. Seats are just too close...I sat next to a heavy set lady and was only able to occupy half my seat because her arm took up the other half. Other than that, its still the beautiful historic theater it always been.
Seats are to close to each other . need a auditorium remodel. however depending on atmosphere it can be warm and cozy. I attended Ms.Pat show.
Except for the police writing $45 tickets on a Sunday & getting locked in the no cash parking lot & didnt park......Having to address them to let me out......
Nice theater no seat is a band seat!
We went last night to see Josh Turner and it was AMAZING!Excellent sound, seats are comfortable and the setting was very intimate. Price was great, parking is close and the area around the theater is clean and a fun atmosphere. We will definitely be going back!!
Its a smaller version of The Fox Theater. Old and beautiful. Seats are nice. My walker broke the night we went and the staff, got me to my seat and fixed my walker for me. The employees were over and above helpful people. Daniel ODonnell was magnificent as he always is. ❤️ At 60 yrs old, the man is still handsome 😍 💙
Not the place it used to be. Loud guest talking through the show. 50 percent of guests late . Ugh
Best time here! Loves it! Beautiful building!
OMG. Can’t believe I’ve never been here before!!?? I’d give 5 ⭐️ except for all the stairs!!! Excellent staff & venue. Plenty of & parking. I paid $10.55. Closer was $20WAR WAS EXCEPTIONAL💜👍💋🥰💜
Took my wife to the Jersey boys for a Christmas gift. The place was awesome. The show was fabulous, the staff at the music Hall was just top-notch. These guys are awesome. Service was not to be outdone friendly. I am sorry to say that the only reason I cant give it a five star in my humble opinion is they need to put some cushion in those seats man. Two and a half hours and my butt was sore. But the end on a good note, the place is beautiful.
Went to see The Rick James Story, not good at all. Every time an event is going on, parking goes up!
KC and the Sunshine Band was awesome. The place is beautiful. Way too many steps for us older people. Overall, Id come back again. Not a bad seat in the place
Great atmosphere. New Jack City gave a superb performance. I had trouble pulling up my ticket and the woman behind the ticket counter was very rude. She had an attitude because I asked for help. She came to work not to do any work. The only thing stopping me from asking for a refund was my colleague was relying on me for a ride after the play.Im happy I stayed for the performance. I recommend everyone check out this play. If you enjoyed the movie you will truly enjoy the play. The ticket lady should be docked and trained in customer service her bad attitude and lack manners will cost you business.
The lounge is cozy. Crowded but serve drinks and food. I can appreciate the original beauty of the building but those seats are terrible. They are to low to the ground and very uncomfortable. They are the original chairs just reupholstered. Because of that I must give it 3/5. Next time we will only purchase private balcony tickets.
One of the best venues in Detroit! Love seeing shows here!
The only major down side is that parking can be really expensive. The hall itself has beautiful old school architecture and a nice staff. Seating is a bit crowded but most of these older venues such as this one and the Fox Theater were built before obesity was really a thing so the spacing accounted for a much smaller body type in general. Its still a nice venue nonetheless and I saw the New Jack City stage play.
As Detroit continue its ascendance to awesomeness, Detroit Music Hall is yet another locale that can only add to the classiness and list of growing venues the Detroit Metro area offers. The concert was amazing (KC & the Sunshine Band), the staff and bar folks charming and equally classy, and the overall experience was wonderful. Will definitely be back for future events for certain. Make sure you give it a go - as Detroit retains the history, class and puts effort into keeping magical places like this where so many other cities tend not to.
I was here for a concert just a few weeks ago. It was quite an enjoyable experience. The seats feel just a little bit high in the main section, but its not too bad. The ushers were polite & helpful. Its a truly beautiful venue, & I hope to go back again someday
When will they have Jakub Józef Orliński perform? Id also like something by Arvo Part (perhaps Adams Passion?) Come on Detroit, get with modern times.
The staff is amazing! They make getting in and seated a breeze. There are no bad seats. We have never been disappointed!
The hall itself is beautiful. The seating is such as to promote the view possible, and the ushers are very helpful and quite friendly. Drinks are a bit pricey for the amount you get. The reason for the 4 stars is because for the show we went to, the seating in the bar area was extremely compact. So close together that you were certain to bump multiple people on the way out of the area, no matter how much space they tried to offer you. Even while leaving the show, one had more space to maneuver than the lounge area allowed.
Attended Southeastern high school graduation there.beautiful place&ceremony.
In town for a week from London and were lucky enough to see the Stylistics and Spinners at the Music Hall. Great concert at fantastic venue - like stepping back in time to the music and venues heyday. Met lots of really friendly locals too which made it a special night.
I had an awesome time at the Music Hall. I went there to see Haha Davis and it was better than I expected.I was served by 2 bartenders, Juan and Liz, and they are awesome. Juan is very suave and very helpful, and I love his energy.Liz was also helpful and suggested many great drinks. 2 of the best bartenders Ive ever met.Establishment is beautiful, clean and is very comforting. I highly encourage checking this venue out.
Very nice venue and plenty of paid parking spaces!
They had a great show with Rickey smiley and Friends but the only thing I didnt like was what seats were too tight so if youre tall youre going to want to sit by the aisle.
It was Ricky Smiley show, first time at Music Hall in years. we enjoyed the show and the ambiance of the theater. Had a problem finding our seating but it was so professionally taking care by an usher named Angela. Thank you Angela for making my wife and I comfortable. Thank you Music Hall for such a great staff. I will definitely be back next time!
Saw Peabo Bryson, who is still amazing, but this venue needs a facelift!
It was cool! We were gifted some tickets, so sure we will take them. Morris Day is on his final stretch, too. But! Never have I ever sat in the balcony where I thought we were all going to fall. Mind you, thats without drinks. Can you imagine if we had drinks...lol overall good experience. Those lemon parmesan cheese with garlic aioli were the! Sooo good! The Malbec I ordered was exceptional. Couldnt even finish it. It did its job for me! Loved the Music Hall experience.
This is a historic venue with very amazing appointments. While we were there I heard a woman complain that it is not modern or handicap accessible. While I find this to be an issue, I also would be sad if they “updated” this architecture. They host both concerts and small plays/musicals. The cafe in the lobby has a small stage with jazz, blues and open mics. It is a treasure in downtown Detroit.
This is a beautiful, intimate theater with cloth seats, and Ushers are very helpful. We have been there twice now within the last month and it is a privlidge to be a peart of Michigan history!! 💝
Ok. Music Hall needs some work. Enjoyed the show however, it was like sitting shoulder to shoulder with 1300 other people. Seats were old enough that they catered to a smaller bodied America. Times have changed and so has the average weight of the American population. Very tight squeeze. Some area if the building showing their age. Bathroom run (break) was fast. Staff friendly and helpful guides. Overall, great experience! Recommend checking your coat to ease comfort in your seat.
Beautiful venue. Excellent acoustics. Nice roomy seats but the cushions are worn. The seats are the reason I did not give 5 stars.
Would never attend an event here. And will definitely contact higher management about how security treats the disabled. Security put me and my 4 year old daughter outside in 30 degree weather for simply using the wrong door. We had been instructed by staff to use that door. Not to mention my daughter was a performer and had on a sleeveless leotard and no shoes. Luckily I could put my coat on her while we waited for help as I couldn’t walk and carry her with only one functional leg. Oh and we saw people using said door while we stood outside freezing and my 4year just can’t understand why the mean man put her outside for using the same door.
Absolutely enjoyed the performance, but aesthetically they need help They need to resubmit ceilings paint ceilings clean chairs if you just happen to get stuck up at the top of the balcony it is the worst You would think the ceiling is going to fall on you
I get to go to the music hall because Greek Town gives tickets, always a blast
Beautiful theater downtown Detroit. I went with a large group that had a mix-up of the time the tickets were for. We went on a matinee, and they had given us nighttime tickets. I little reworking had to be done, but we got to see the play. Refreshments are a little pricey. I got a coke and chips that were 7$. the play was wonderful.
Attended Southeastern H.S. Graduation¬ a bad seat in the house👍
Great show by The Fab Four! Music was fantastic..very authentic outfits they wore and even the same guitars that the original Beatles used.
Beautiful venue that I am happy is still part of Detroits entertainment fabric. Recently went to see Dave Koz in concert. Was really nice. Is it the Fox or DSO? No. Would I recommend? Absolutely. Oh, another gem. Gem Theaters parking structure right across the street. Paid $8 for parking instead of the $20 for Music Hall parking!
Nice, comfortable, mid-sized theater. Classic old architecture and decor. Tiny lobby, with Arethas - a very nice little cocktail lounge - off it.
Not a bad seat in the house. Loved the ambiance of this gem and enjoyed the Musical R.E.S.P.E.C.T. amazing cast and band. Well done and will definitely be back here to catch another awesome show.🙂
Enjoyed a concert there, but they definitely need to replace their seats. Too low and too close. My husbands knees were uncomfortable the entire time.
Not handicap friendly, whatsoever. But a great venue to see a performance. The drinks they make there are excellent, top notch. Did not see a well brand at all behind the bar.
We watched George Lopez, the show was amazing, unfortunately the building didnt have A/C and it was like a oven.
George Thorogood an Thee Destroyers Were Absolutely Fantastic. His Creative Story Telling Of Lyrics Is ...Bad To The Bone. ✌️❤️🤘🇺🇸. His Band Mates Were Lovely An Creative With Skill. They Rocked It!
Good venue however myself and many people were shocked by the seats and how hard they were to sit in and if u are tall sit on the end.
Went to see Keith Sweat my favorite. The drinks were great only issue was the seats were very low.
The venue was very good!! We enjoyed good comedians. The only problem was people not coming on time and the seats are quite small. But , this place is historic!! so back in the day of course people were a lot smaller. However, if people came on time to The Venue it wouldnt make it so difficult and you wouldnt have to keep getting up out of your seat to let someone else into sit down in such a tight space. Which in turn is just a respect thing
Amazing place. Great staff. Always have great shows. The rich history this place holds is truly remarkable. Im surprised its not more popular. The food is impeccable. Shout outs to the Chef Colin. He runs a great team and has a great menu.
I like the seating. They are old, though.(The seats themselves.
Absolutely beautiful. If you buy tickets for here, spend the extra money for floor seats because the balcony seats while good for viewing are terrifyingly steep (and Im not afraid of heights), especially if you are older. 2 ushers had to help an older gentleman with a cane because the stairs were so steep and the aisles are so thin.
We had a very nice time at Brit Floyd concert. Nice venue. Other then their restrooms being small, and far down in the bowels of the place. Easy off and on the freeway. Parking was not a problem, plenty of reasonable priced parking available. Nice jazz cafe located inside. Would go back here again.
Kind workers, but though it says handicap accessible... it still has way too many stairs. If you knee problems... you will be sore when you leave; even the distance to get to the elevators are really far. The building is very old and aside from the basement, all bathrooms are very tight like elementary school bathrooms for kids.
What a glorious experience. My son and I saw Stomp! here in February, 2022. He loved the building and show. The view is amazing from the 3rd row. Sound is vibrant and full of energy. Lighting is amazing.
I attended a play at the Music Hall it was nice I was a little uncomfortable seats are kinda small for a plus size person and I couldnt stretch my legs out so it was uncomfortable sitting like that for a few hours.
Beautiful historic building. A small theater with nice comfy seats with leg room (Im 5ft 9in). Only complaint, no security. Felt a lil vulnerable when a fight broke out and there was no security to shut it down and either party could have had a weapon ( no metal detectors or weapons check upon entry).
Great vintage theater fully restored.
Graduation ceremony coming up and this place is amazing
My first visit to the music Hall center was Tyler Perrys Madeas performance... My oldest daughter invited myself her mother-in-law and her daughter to the live stage performance... it was a blast! This past Friday night it was Chaka Khan. Booyah, another winner..
We attended the play Set It Off last night and ended up leaving mid-way through the show. The people around us talked, laughed extremely loud, LIVED streamed on speaker phones and no one asked them to stop. I couldnt even hear the actors. They were conversing about the play, simply being rude. The dear sweet ushers were too old to handle the situations. There needs to be security on staff to ensure eversyone has a great experience.
Ticketing process wasnt super efficient. Venue is small and dated. But I had a great view of the stage from my seat. Also the ticket prices were very affordable.
I saw the Whispers there , totally enjoyed every moment.
Excellent entertainment venue. Moderate size very good sight lines to the stage. Saw the Broadway touring company Jersey Boys. Excellent show. Really enjoyed the production. Three bars available for beverages and snacks. Theres a restaurant and jazz cafe on the lower level.
Seats are small and uncomfortable. The place is broke down and disorganized. Especially for the price of the tickets. The bar on site has the worst drinks and food. I warn you not to get the wings. I will never go another event there .
Got my 70*s tickets, im happy 😁 & they didnt tell us that we had to go to another place, next hope u care 2 let people know I was late for work & I called aerie theater 2x,never said anything, unprofessional
350 Terrace Rooftop Club at the Music Hall was a major disappointment. $20 before 8pm on a Wednesday. If you dont BUY a booth you have nowhere to sit. The alcohol they claim to be serving is not. Theyre filling up top shelf bottles w/ bottom shelf liquor. Every drink tasted like lighter fluid. We all woke up sick. The roof top itself is poorly maintained..nice view of the city for 20$Poor management!
Pros: It is very beautiful on the inside. The play was great.Cons: seating is small and uncomfortable. A lot of stairs to restrooms, Cafe and seats. A mixed drink, candy bar and bottle of water was $33.
What a climb to balcony seats! We took that route since the line for the elevator was so long. This was my first visit to Music Hall. So nice to visit.
Its a beautiful space however the seats that we had were really terrible. We were up in the mezzanine and couldnt see a thing due to the curtain being in the way. Those seats should not be sold for performances knowing that people will not be able to see.
What a magical venue! My Grandmother and I felt like we stepped back in time and had a delightful experience with both the bar staff, ushers, and elevator operator. A nice, intimate feel with spectacular acoustics.
Ample parking near the venue. Atmosphere of old fashion movie house. Staff friendly and helpful. Only downside the original theater seats are not designed for 21st century bodies. The sound system is great.
Had tickets for the comedy show October 16th @ 8pm. We arrived 40 minutes late & there was a line around the corner of the building. Once inside we were directed to the elevator to take us to the balcony seating. We get to our section theirs 30ppl standing in the aisle & hallway looking for seating., With no usher in sight!! We stood idle for abt 10-15 minutes before going back downstairs to try & find an usher. What we did find out was the venue was short staffed & didnt have enough people to accommodate the crowd at a attendance. We bought a couple tshirts from a vender in the lobby & left The Music Hall disappointed without seeing the show!!!
The Aretha Franklin Cafe is a small and quaint cafe. The performances were great. I gave two stars because the waitress only waited on certain people. My husband and I did not feel the staff was welcoming. We were invited by one of the performers . And an eighteen percent tax was charged to our bill (A party of two).
First time at the theater. Our seats were in the balcony. The sound system needs to be updated. There are 2 sets of speakers on each side of the stage. If anyone has seats higher than the speakers, the sound was muffled from the actors.
Saw the band America. Very nice venue. Because of the smaller size, almost all of the seats are good.
