Blur Nightclub

Very fun lively gay bar in Dunedin. We went for our friend’s memorial—we were supposed to dress in costume—most enjoyable memorial I’ve ever attended! There was a table of appetizers that may or may not have been from the restaurant menu. Nothing to write home about, but fine. The drinks were great, though! It is a bar, after all!

All though I do understand that this business has to thrive somehow. But the residents living on the next block behind this place cant sleep cause the live music coming out of this place is way too loud. The owner of this business should show some courtesy and respect for people who actually live over here and who need to sleep cause they gotta wake up early in the morning to go to work the next day. The music doesnt need to be that loud. There has got to be a compromise so that all people will be happy.

Stopped in for a drink. There is no table service. Everything is sold from the bar. The street front has roll-up doors, so you can sit and enjoy outside, inside.

I found Waldo and Elvis dancing the one random night I went.House music is good but they switched the DJs to more hip hop and it was OK for a bit. when I went to the back I spotted this girl I kinda knew and she was partying with her dad! How cool is that!

I came at 6pm so not much going on. Sam the bartender was amazing and friendly. He gave me a lot of insights on the local places here. He is super handsome but straight haha lol. he made me feel comfortable and welcomed my dog without a problem. The bar itself is clean and well maintained and the prices of drinks are reasonable. I havent been during the busy hours so I cant comment on that.

I really wanted to give this place a good review. My credit card was charged twice. One charge was on a day we were not even there! I I called and talked to two different managers two days apart. However, after getting the run-around and excuses such as; a bad credit card system, busy night, busy bartenders, (the amount of patrons present could be counted on two hands) and that the owner still had to go through the receipts, after stating I would be forced to file for fraud via my CC company, I was told by one of the managers to just get a charge-back from my credit card company. Thankfully, my CC company issued me a refund right away! I would not be giving this low-star review if the first manager had taken the time to deal with my issue and not lied to me about follow-up. My trust is blown with the staff and management. I have a lot of visitors coming to visit over the next few months. Blur will not be one of the places we spend our money. Which is a bummer because it is a cool space. I suggest you re-train your staff on being honest with customers and get your system running efficiently.

Unique Dance and Hangout Club in downtown Dunedin. Gay friendly nightclub on Saturday night had a mixed casual crowd dancing in main room to retro and gay classics along with current pop dance tunes and a splattering of current hip hop also being broadcast on multiple video screens throughout the main room. Good sounding sound system. A completely different vibe awaits you outside with a large outdoor space with bar, a food truck to placate any late night cravings and entertainment from a band that this night was a great sounding Bluegrass sounding ensemble. These folks were professional musicians as their sound was polished and pleasing. You can choose to sit on the available chairs, dance in front of the band or hang out further back near the bar. This venue gives you the choice: Party it up in the main room or hang out in the relaxing back open area that is delightedly decorated. Either way, you can’t go wrong here if you are looking to dance up a storm or chill out. Your choice.

Best people watching place ever! Also, if you lose your phone or your debit card, youre pretty much guaranteed to find it at the bar somewhere... The good nature of the people that come here are astounding. Ive lost a few things at blur and every single time, I have found what Im kissing at the bar because someone has found it and brought it up for safekeeping. Love this place.

Went to see the drag show, what a joke! One queen mic wouldnt work, she came out once and we couldnt hear or see for all the people standing in front of our table! Also started an hour late and lasted maybe 15 minutes!!!

A group of us went out and after leaving the club a friend of mine noticed fraudulent charges on his card. He called the club and was laughed at. Needless to say I would beware of giving them a credit card if any kind. Not impressed 👎

Went to Blur last night for the 1st time for the male review show. WORST SHOW EVER!!! The guys did a whole lot of nothing. After they danced...if you can call it that...they stood around. Didnt work the room or crowd at all!! More talk from the DJ than anything else. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!!

The worst coctels and bad service, not matter if youre respectful, they dont care. The manager answered me, You dont come here to pay for drinks. You came for the atmosphere, wow I was in silence, thinking why wasting my time...not Mr. You go to spend money and you want all the combo, service atmosphere and prices. Plus....

Most horrible person works there. When I went to leave he stated I needed to walk around the back outside of the building just to be demeaning.

Blur has the potential to be such a great place if you guys got a new dj. The music makes or breaks the night and the last two times I’ve been there the music has sucked. Please get a new dj

My sister got married on Saturday and after dinner we went to the Blur , we had a party of about 15 people, I was so happy with the place from the door man carding me lol Im 62 to the manager Sam doing what he could to accommodate us. The servers, Bar tenders, band out back was great and the DJ up front, it was all a wonderful time. The biggest thing I loved was the atmosphere of all the other people there. Every one was so upbeat and kind and social with everyone else. It was a nice mix of all ages. I will be back!

Not only does Blur Nightclub provide an awesome experience, good music and entertainment throughout the week Wednesday for freestyle open mic with Jon Diddy but the nightlife on the weekends is very lively and on top of that theres even a food truck called Tios Pios and there food is the bomb the staff is also very nice especially Jane holding down the bar 🍸

Employees tried to steal money from my card that was on my tab called and Aaron A laughed when i told him what happened do not go to this establishment and if you do only pay in cash

On a Friday or Saturday night, this is the place to be. The atmosphere is phenomenal. The people are quality. The bouncers and managers are kind and fair. I’ve never seen the amount of efficiency portrayed by the outside bartenders(Jason and Finn). When faced with an immense wave of thirsty adults they manage to disperse drinks very quickly. Jason is outstanding kind,caring, and always very pleasant to his customers. 10/10 would recommend this place. Would definitely go back just to see Jason and Finn. Outstanding bartenders!

My recent visit to a lounge in Dunedin, Florida was terrible. The lack of professionalism among the staff, absence of any visible management, and questionable security arrangements created a less-than-ideal environment. I strongly urge the management to address these issues for a better patron experience.Security guard is a liability as he is looking for a fight and abusive to patrons.It took 4 months to receive the below response from owner.... I think this explains alot about this business.

We visited this spot for a dear friends Celebration of Life and I must say I was very impressed. Love the outside patio and bar area. Their outdoor bar was stocked as full as any indoor bar. Their bartenders are professional and make great drinks! Of course they were super busy and their was a line but thats just proof their drinks are worth waiting for. I dont know the name of their food truck guy but OMG His Shrimp Tacos are to die for! This is def located in a nice area and a cool club!

Ive been coming to this club for years and Ive never received less than 5 Star service from Jane the bartender.Shes always quick with the perfect recommendation but can easily make any drink you want. Ive been going to Blur since the day it opened. The city has grown around the bar, but it has remained a great place to hang with friends. The bartenders are great, security is effective and the spaces are comfortable. I had an exceptional time yesterday at Sunday Drag Brunch! Jenna was amazing at keeping the drinks flowing! She is knowledgeable and even helped figure out a drink someone had in Hawaii. Juno Vibranz and Autumn V entertained with two fabulous shows! You would have thought you were in Miami or Vegas at a drag brunch! They even took the party to the street, flipping and dipping down Main Street! We had a great time! Please check this bar out, as there are things happening throughout the week days and weekends.

Ive never been more embarrassed in my life. Evidently I was there during a shift change and between drinks, I was told my previous tab was closed out because the bartender left. I asked about the tip and was told 20% was automatically added to my tab. It bothered me that they can just do that, despite the fact that I would have more than likely tipped that. So I asked, how can you just do that without me signing that. Next thing I know, Im being walked out by security. I didnt cause a scene, wasnt being obnoxious, I simply asked a question. I cannot even believe I was treated this way for asking a simple question. Im an upstanding person with class. Obviously something the security girl(and I use that term lightly) and bartender girl I dealt with dont have. Unreal. The manager ( I believe thats who he was, was very nice) but at that point Im in tears and beyond embarrassed. Although he said we could stay, we promptly finished our drink and left. Never again

Stopped be here on a Saturday night while visiting a friend and was very impressed with the vibe. Great music, good drinks, inviting people. Huge shout out to Ryan and Jane for helping me charge my phone and get home.100% would visit again if Im ever in town.

It is a good bar but Bartender (black hair girl) doesnt serve what you want even though you say you will pay double. I asked for customized bill they ignored. Bartender give you a bill and then manager brings you different amount of bill when you asked. So, they bring you two different billl at same which is 15-20$ different. It is not about money, it is about how they respect to customer and their own business. Hopefully owner sees it.

I did not like this place at all. Its very small, packed with all ages who resemble an alternative, psychedelic, off the rails type lifestyle. The music is nothing but base, and I witnessed weird oddball behavior. Just sketchy. Two stars for the cool lights.

Can be fun with the right group. The drinks are good and they have a nice food truck out in the back as well. A downfall would be once it gets crowded, its tough to get a drink at the bar but thats just how it goes with any crowded venue.Unfortunately, my main issue is with the malicious staff that leave their own tips on your tab. I was notified of my credit card company that they noticed I left a 200%+ tip on my tab. I scanned through the comments and, sure enough, there are others with the same experience that have massive charges to their cards in the forms of extra tips added on.If you do go here, keep a close eye on what is charged to your credit card during/after your night or pay ONLY in cash to avoid any risk whatsoever. Overall, I would visit again if the group of friends Im with want to try it out again but am definitely spreading the warning of the potential tip scam.

Amazing gem in Dunedin! Casual fun for all. Love the outside food truck and the friendly staff. The nightly schedule and specials keep us coming back especially bartender, Jenna, which you can see for fun on Thursdays and Sundays 🎶🍸

The manager took our table because his friends showed up after nearly 1.5hrs of sitting at the table. It was extremely disappointing we centered our vacation around a visit to a favorite spot until tonight. The general manager really was unprofessional and failed at his job. Really, disappointed with the Integrity of management. Tomorrow is the grand reopening...but what good is appearances if the heart of the club is missing basic customer service.

So disappointing that this isnt a LGBT safe space anymore, especially on weekends. Literally the only place I get called gay slurs, not sure why they try to do events during pride.

If youre looking for the best Sunday brunch around, you found it. The first Sunday is legit my favorite day of the month. The bartender Jenna is a freaking riot and keeps the drinks flowing with the best laugh!Shes always super fun, friendly and in the best mood!As for Drag Queen Brunch, well, Ive never laughed or been entertained during a show as much as Juno Vibranzs shows!! Shes got class, sass and a whole lotta - energy!

After only one short visit I have come to the following premature conclusion. The staff here are all awesome. Bouncers/security, bartenders and deejay were all great.The crowd was unbelievably random. Someone mentioned here that it is a great place for people-watching, and I concur. I doubt anyone meets the love of their life here, but it is entertaining.Parking is free starting at 10:00pm. No cover or minimum.

First time to this Dunedin hot-spot for a special event on a Sunday night. All in all it looked like everyone had a good time. Blur has a good open inside space, and a beautiful outside space in the back. Last night, they had a great Jazz band playing.... Drink prices were about average and the staff didnt keep you waiting. That is unless you visit the food trailer in the backyard. Theyre slow, and the food offerings are ehh at best. I had a couple of tacos that I didnt finish, and a solid feeling that I should have found a hot dog at a 7-11. Probably could have dispensed with the indigestion. Final thought, have a bite before going to Blur.

Best bar and nightlife in Dunedin. Livvy and Jenna absolutely killed it on the bar. Very kind, attentive, and makes the best drinks. 13/10 would recommend just to see them or drink aperol spritz for brunch.

I had a great time. It was fun and there was great music for everyone. The host of the costume contest had no pants. I loved it😄. I was a cat with no ears. Who needs ears? The drink was so good; I drank half of it and I was dizzy. 🤷🏾‍♀️😩😄

What the hell happened to This place, the bartenders, the service and the prices in the last three years? This is ridiculous. So disappointing as this is the only club in the Entire area.

I was at Blur a couple of weeks ago and it will be the last time. Love the new outside. The DJ is the worst most unapproachable DJ I have ever seen. I know plenty of people who go there and we all say the same thing. He is the week link. Every night he plays the same songs over and over. No variety, no imagination. He is terrible! Im reading all the reviews here, And there’s a lot of complaints about the DJ. Funny how those reviews never get a response. It’s a shame, these are just the people who took the time to write a review. There are so many more out there who feel the same way! I will say that the bartenders do bust their rear ends! Love what you’ve done in the back of the Blur, however This place could and should be much better.

It was my Birthday last Saturday night and I brought 13 girl friends to the Blur. We had a friend hold a table thank god but getting a drink was impossible we waited at times 45 minutes the music was not good for dancing and over all we just left! It is sad when you have more fun in your own back yard than a night club, standing in a drink line all night sucks! Hire more bartenders and a server this would be the smart thing for the owners to do. Rediculas. Never will I go again nor any of my friends.

Blurs new outdoor patio is the one of the best patios around now! I had never gone to Blur very much as the inside scene wasnt my thing. But the outside definitely is! A group of friends recently went to hear Betty Fox Band on the patio. There are hi-top tables and low tables, an area to dance, a bar outside and, when the permits are done, there will be a food truck on the premises. I hope to enjoy more music and cocktails on this patio in the future and they even have my favorite drink - a Dark and Stormy!

Always have a great time when my friends and i go out to Blur. A very big variety of people and drinks. Everyones very friendly and are their to have a good time. With a wide range of age groops. You can hang outside at their patio where they have lots of chairs and tables to sit outside and relax with a bar outside as well as even a very nice food truck that serves great food only a few feet away from your table. Then you can walk just a few feet and go inside to enjoy their night club that has a DJ and two bars for quick access for a drink with minimum wait time. This is the best place in downtown Dunedin to dance and meet new people have fun and enjoy yourself after a long stressful week.

Very rude bartender and a lot worse bouncer. Bar was half empty, while we order one drink after another, then the other bartender told us you can’t stand by the bar if you’re not drinking? When I said we only been here for less then an hour and we’re already on our 6 drinks, then the bouncer came over and forced us to move to the back of the bar. When I asked why are you treating us like that? We did nothing wrong. He just kept saying you can leave if you want to. Needles to say I’ll never go back there.

We have been going to this club for a few years now on the weekends, so now they are remodeling ok , but still open . We happened to go on a Friday night which I noticed was a different bartender from the Saturday nights I usually go on and the bartender there knows I always order a Cosmo and have always always gotten it in a glass by my regular bartender from Saturday nights. So now all the sudden this Friday night bartender tells me there not allowed to give me my Cosmo in a glass!! What !! ?? She gave it to me in a plastic cup! Im inside , not outside , I looked around and there’s people all around drinking from glass beer bottles!! That just doesn’t make sense to me . I still gave them 4 stars because the Dj was great and atmosphere is good .

Im an out if towner who was visiting my friends over the weekend and I just wanted to give Bob a shout out because he made our experience great. He was very friendly even in the middle of being VERY busy and him being the only bartender available. He made great drinks and was always smiling! Would reccomend!

Blur is part of a collection of restaurants and bars that are connected in downtown Dunedin. They offer many events, even drag queen bingo! They drinks 🍸 are a bit strong so plan ahead and eat well prior to dancing here! Fun music and a great place to come out and dance 💃🏻

Do away with the mall cop security guards. The security guy seemed to have and issue with the Leatherman on my belt but not the pocket knife and utility knives clipped to my pockets, and he made me return to my car. Yet I carried in a pocket knife and a utility razor. Little advice to the security people, a utility razor is ALOT more dangerous than a multitool but whatever make you guys feel better. The crowd on Thursday was fairly small and yet they have security like theyre in Ybor or Miami 🤣. I would have given the bar zero stars if I could have, but the karaoke DJ Dwayne was awesome and made up for the poor experience with security. Either do away with the security theater, or hire some that actually know what theyre doing.

Ryan P was an absolute dream of a bar back. I had a fantastic time, the DJs Howie and Xpek were absolute dreams. The manager Sam was very helpful and had integrity.

This night club has night club written all over it and thats why I have rated Blur five stars. The lights, people, DJ and bar tenders are all fun people. I remember watching those people dance to the music and it was like something out of a movie. I suggest tip good because there might not be a cover and expect to get a kiss because I got one, thanx Blur.

Came in with some friends. Spent about $50 maybe a little less on a tab. Tipped in cash all night which I thought the bartenders would be appreciative of. But then two days later I got a charge for $85 bucks. Nice. Thanks for that.

Blur is a fun atmosphere with a great mix of people. Friday and Saturday nights can get busy lots of great people watching. The music is usually great and dance floor does get bumping the later it gets. Stop and see Trina and ask her for the Alki and Balki shot. Mmmm mmmm 🍸 Excited to hear about the new hours and Happy Hour specials. Lots of upcoming renovations will make this fun bar even better.If your in Dunedin during the day Blur is now open early with ping pong and corn hole games to enjoy while sipping on Happy Hour drinks. Night club staff Very unfriendly. We ordered two beers when on the dance floor I came back they had been thrown away By the bar staff. They refuse to replace them and could not care less.If I could give them a zero I would.

Go to drag queen bingo with my girlfriend on Tuesdays, love the people, staff, and hosts. Come with an open mind and a big sense of humor and youll have a great time with stories to tell.

Worst place to go Halloween costume contest cant get in with fake props stupid they want you to dress like Barney and Baby Bop not just that customer service sucks I have never been to a worst nightclub. if you want to go to a good Club go to Ybor City thats just my opinio I think thay should make it in to a teen club.

This place is the worst Bouncer wouldnt let me in when there was a line to just close my tab. I had two drinks bartender told me it was $9.50, I then stated Id like to keep my tab open. Never got any other drinks. The day after (Sunday) I woke up to a charge of $11.50 thinking they just closed the tab with a two dollar tip. Instead the Charge got finalized as $21. Figuring it was a mistake I tried to call/e-mail them and no response. I went out there St. Pattys Day and got over charged. I e-mailed them after trying to calling them MULTIPLE times on MULTIPLE days even after their voice mail said I could reach management. NEVER got a reply via e-mail.

I love it here . Great place to dance and in wind. Always packed when I go not understanding y the star rating for blur is a 3.7 it should at least be a 4.7

Great place to unwind, food truck and outdoor seating space. Be prepared to dance cause the Dj is outstanding.

This is the weekend spot for my friends and I. It’s a lot of fun the only downside is the music the DJ plays. It seems like he only plays what he wants and not what is popular music these days. He needs to take a note from the DJ next door at Kelly’s Chica-Boom-Room he kills it !!

Ive been here several times but only on a Thursday for karaoke with Stormin Normie at 9pm. The bar staff are friendly and Ive always had fun.

You play the same music over and over again and the outside bartender is extremely rude. He messed our tab up and then yelled at us about fixing it, why would we pay for drinks we didnt buy?
