Found this braiding spot on Google based on the reviews i decided to give it a try. Me and my daughter went , she got cornrows with a heart on the side.. it was super cute. I on the other hand did not get what I truly wanted based on the texture of my hair.. to soft curly the braids jus slipped right out. Marly the owner of the salon worked with me on whats best for my hair. Over all my hair looked really nice!!. The salon was clean & I truly appreciate Marly taking the time to accommodate me while dealing with a difficult customer who was extremely inpatient & rude. I highly recommend this place🙂

This woman literally saw me at night. She took her time and cut my hair, and I never complained about the amount of time that it was taking. I went and told her to cut it all if she has to because I have a lot of damage from neglecting my hair for over two years. I wore a bun almost everyday and it caused a big amount of breakage in my hair, and I had enough. I was prepared to get it all cut, but luckily she was able to save what the pictures shows. I used to have ALOT of hair, and listen. To be frank, “normal”/non-afro salons do not know how to cut curly hair. She made me realized that short hair suits my personality better!! Everyone has complimented me on it.Also unlike other hair stylists, she would ask me many many times, “is this okay?”. I didn’t even look closely tbh, I just said if there is more damage, to cut it each time.

I first went to marly about a year ago. Every time I walk out my dreads look and feel amazing. The price is set just right and the place is not only clean but beautiful. She’s colored, trim, and styled basically all the above. I recommend her for any one who needs their dreads revamped

I had the best experience getting my hair done here. The owner and workers treated me very kindly and my hair came out exactly how I wanted it. Good place the customer service is one of a kind they are such nice people. There hair styles last long I got good corn rolls that last up too two months. The place has a flexible schedule. I got Fulani braids and the braids look sloppy, it’s been a week and the back of my head already looks old, the front looks rushed too she didn’t do much of a good job. I was there for 9 hours, she didn’t tell me I had to bring hair. My appointment was at 9:30am I didn’t start until 11:30am which is unprofessional and I didn’t leave until 8pm. The hair looks okay but it’s sloppy and I don’t like it I’m never coming back. She was late too. There’s only 3 people in the shop so it took forever for her to finish. Im so upset that I paid $180 for sloppy work.

I have been coming here for 6 months and I never leave disappointed. This woman is friendly, professional, knowledgeable and quick without making you feel you are being rushed. She takes her time with each client and gives them undivided attention. She answers every question you asked but will also ask her own as she wants to take care of your hair and know the history. I appreciate her and the business.

Whenever I come to Marleys I feel right at home. Very professional. My hair looks fantastic at the end. Only person I let do my dreads. She also has her own hair products and my hair growth has been phenomenal.

I made an appointment for 3:30. When I got there the door was closed with a sign staining I would be right back. Waited for 20 minutes then called, stylist say that she 5 minutes away. Waited another 15 minutes. I requested a wash, rinse and retwist of my lock extensions. This was disastrous she used rubber and on my roots. Never seen nothing like this in my life. Not only that she charged me $170. I was flabbergasted. I vowed never again. But I should have left when I waited for 35 minutes.

I’ve been getting my hair done here for two years now and every time has been stellar. Every other place i would go would hurt like hell to twist my hair but at Marly’s, Marly is efficient and professional in her work, which makes not only my hair look better, but also not bring as much pain or take as much time to do. Marly’s professionalism coupled with her genuinely caring and nice attitude creates an atmosphere where I enjoy getting my hair done with great results.The only downside I can think of would be that her services are on the pricier end, but I’m willing to pay because the pros most definitely outweigh the cons. If you are looking for a place of get your hair done, I would most definitely recommend Marly’s.

I went to marly’s beauty salon to get a pedicure with my daughter. The environment was nice, the place was clean and the customer service was amazing! Her workers were really friendly with my daughter and my pedicure was done in less than 45 minutes.I definitely recommend this place for anyone who needs their hair and nails done!

Came in with dreadlocks Id been growing since 2001. Marly cut my hair, gave me color and braided my hair all for an extremely fair price. Shes sweet and accommodating and talented. Will definitely be back!

She charged me $60 more than what she said on the phone even though i brought my own hair, then caught an attitude when i questioned it. the braids were sloppy and she cut up my hair I brought and said she ran out and had to mix in her own (cheap) hair. they got frizzy and loose after a couple days.

And everytime Im in town to visit my parents I make it a point to pay a visit to Marley Dreadlocks and Extensions because she is the best at what she does. Service was horrible, i wouldn’t even rate it at least ONE star. they don’t know how to braid. i asked for knotless & got box braids… simply because my hair was “too short” when they didn’t even bother to blow dry it completely, every time i get my hair done i ALWAYS get knotless. i was literally holding a chunk of my hair where it wasn’t blow dried & tried to tell them & they ignored me, every-time i tried to correct them or give them advice they told me to “stop complaining” they don’t respect your hair, they do whatever they want as long as it looks good to THEM. my middle part was crooked & they didn’t even BOTHER to put effort in the front of my head, this won’t even last me a MONTH, it is done terribly. worst braiding salon i ever went to, they definitely will NOT be seeing me again.

I called on Friday night to find out if they have next day (Saturday) availability to do a protein treatment. She said yes and to come at 9am on Saturday. I got there 10 minutes early and called the number.She said to my that she thought she told me 2pm. She already had a customer in the salon she was working on. I left and went next door to Lucys

OMG! She was probably the worst braider that Id ever seen. I took my daughter there and showed the owner several pics of what we wanted done. I watched as she parted my daughters hair unevenly and braided it sloppily. Each braid was bigger & bulkier than the other. She engaged me in small talk & actually seemed like a nice person. When she was done, she handed my daughter a mirror. She could tell that my daughter was unhappy. We paid her and uncomfortably walked out. It was very awkward because we knew the work was bad, but just wasnt sure how to deal with it. My wife saw pics from work and immediately called the owner & demanded that she do the work over. After some back & forth dialogue the owner hung up on my wife. We took my daughter to another salon and got her braids done professionally & beautifully (for the exact same price, I might add). My wife returned later that evening demanding partial payment. She refused many times until I had my daughter enter the salon, displaying beautiful braids done exactly as asked. We received 50% back, but only because my wife aggressively requested the refund. She actually stood toe to toe with my wife. I was actually afraid...for the salon owner. Ive never seen my wife that angry. If youre looking for braids, this place is not worthy of a penny. The salon is a very small and unkept room and the bathroom was gross. Totally an unprofessional place. Im convinced that the only good reviews were given my herself or family & friends.

Few years ago I searching on Google a salon so I can do my hair ,I had found Marly salon I choose her place since then I have been never changed anyone else customer service is excellent, great products for your hair, specialy when your hair is damage, all the stylist skills. My mom and I are always satisfied with our hairstyles, if anybody need a place I will recommend to go there.

Very professional ! I have just went there to get a crochet braids , my first time going there , so I was very nervous ! But omg ! One she made me feel comfortable , I felt like home , two by just showing her a picture of the hair style I wanted , i got exactly what I wanted and even better ! ! My new look was so sexy ! There are several issues that I had. Firstly the owner was 30 minutes late even though I had spoken to her and she knew I would be there. Also, she did not communicate that she had prescheduled appointments. She stopped frequently to talk on the phone which was very unprofessional and disrespectful of my time.She used poor quality hair that curled poorly at the time of placement. My braids started to fall out a mere 3 days after placement. She is also overpriced for the location.I have had kinky twists done by many different people in different states and this by far was the worst.

If I could rate the service here I wouldnt even give her 1 star. Yesterday I came in as a first time customer, & I asked for 2 simple cornrows (& showed a pic of it) The first thing that I didnt like is she overcharged me & said the price would be $45 & the price for ONLY 2 braids does not cost $45. Ive been to several african hair braiding salons, & that was never the set price. However, I was willing to pay as long as it looked nice, because I was pressed for time.Secondly, she had one of her youngest daughters braid my hair. I was skeptical because shes young & I was hoping she actually knew how to braid. Her daughter did a horrible job & kept undoing & braiding this one braid for about 20min. She kept asking her mom (the owner) how does this look? & is this right? The owner would walk over undo the braid AGAIN after her daughter already did for the 3rd or 4th time already to try and fix it. While all of this is going on she doesnt have me by a mirror for me to even see how its looking. When I finally look it looks so horrible the braids arent even, my part is barely straight, its lumpy starting from small to big & small again, the left braid is straight & the right braid starts off straight then its crooked almost looking like a zig zag braid style. I told her that looked horrible & she did it over. I was frustrated I told her just leave it alone, because at that point no matter how many times they took them out & did them over it was still horrible.Now im sitting under the dryer so the gel can dry & im sitting down talking on my phone telling my mom i dont like it & Ill just take it out sunday after a pool party. As Im telling my mom to look at it on facetime the owner is standing over me damn near breathing on me & shes being rude, nasty, & disrespectful With her hand out saying give me my money pay me. I didnt like her attitude so i told her no wait & give me a minute im on the phone. She sucked her teeth & aggressively tried to snatch my money out of my hand. I didnt have the whole $45 in my hand I had $30 in my hand & was -about to hand her a $50 bill & ask for change but because she was so rude & disrespectful & the work wasnt great i said you know what now im giving her the $30 she just snatched out my hand her service is horrible. As im walking out the door she attacked me from behind & grabbed me & i grabbed her back which caused a scuffle between me & the owner. Shes yelling & cursing at me, she pulled my hair, she grabbed my braid & threatened me with scissors in my face trying to cut my braid off which caused me to defend myself & I had to grab her back aggressively & push her off of me. They didnt let me leave the shop & locked me inside. I called nassau county police & when they arrived I told them what happened. She tried to lie on me & say i hurt her & kept complaining about her arm having scratches but never told them what she did to me since i walked in that shop. Every action has a reaction. I felt violated & disrespected. She also made me come out of character which isnt how I conduct myself. She continued to be ignorant & told the cops she wants her hair back & to get her hair out of my head. I said fine you can have it its ugly & its not good quality hair. The cops allowed me to take my braids out & I gave her her hair back & I received my $30 in return. Idk if she thought I was a young girl because im small & I have a baby face but I am a 24yr old woman. Im not a little girl i wasnt going to not pay her & run out of the shop, disrespect her or put my hands on her. I tried to work with her, I was VERY patient, & I would never go back there. She ruined my day, wasted my time, & I missed the pool party event i was suppose to be attending. God does not like ugly & she will never make any money continuing to be the nasty devil that she is.She also made comments saying that she hates black people and this is why she doesnt like working with black people and were all these things. Mind you this is all coming from an African woman herself. DONT GO HERE!

Absolutely terrible customer service I called a day before to asked if they can braid they said to come in the next day so they can tell me how much it will be. I get there the next day and I show her a picture and she tells me how much it is I say okay.Me and my mother go outside to discuss something and the lady closes the door and proceeds to lock it .
