Massage Envy

I made an appointment for a facial on 8/10/24 at the Bunker Hill location in Houston, Texas. My facial with Sophia was excellent. She was very professional and friendly. I proceeded to pay with a $100 gift card that included a bonus card. My understanding was that the bonus card would cover the tip. However, I was informed by the front desk employee that the bonus card had expired. The bonus card was worth at least $20. My boyfriend who had purchased both cards at Christmas, 2023, was not made aware that there was an expiration on the bonus card when purchasing the $100 gift card. The bonus card was not accepted, and I paid a tip because I wanted to be fair to Sophia. However, I did not leave as a satisfied customer. The small gesture of accepting the bonus card would have made a difference for any future decision to return to Massage Envy.

Overall I have been happy with my experience here at Massage Envy (Bunker Hill). I have a membership, which I feel is definitely worth it if you plan on coming in more than every once in a while. Everyone at this location has been very polite and helpful. The desk staff are always friendly and willing to answer any questions. And the massage therapists are really good. They take the few minutes before your massage to ask questions and discuss why youre coming in. And they really listen to your responses and use the info you provide to customize your experience to what you need. I cant really speak to the other services like facials but I have been happy with all my massages here at this location.But let me take a minute to shout out to Marco. He is absolutely magic! I booked with him last minute and only for an hour (I usually do 90 minutes). And within the first minute or so, I could tell he was going to be really good. I left from that appointment feeling so much better than when I walked in. Going forward I will be booking with Marco exclusively. He definitely deserves a bonus! 😉

A great experience and improved healing happens when in the trained hands of Daniel. He listens and asks you what you need and always delivers a deep tissue massage that works on trigger areas. Your safety, privacy and comfort are his top priority. He has a devoted following here in west Houston.

I guess if you have a membership Massage Envy is worth it, but I do not think it’s worth it for someone needing a massage on occasion. I do not think I got the prenatal massage I paid for as it resembled one I could have gotten from my husband. Front desk staff were lovely and the facility itself is clean.

Toni did a very good job. She was in tune to my goals during massage. It was not the best ever massage in my life but it was a good experience and I would go back to Toni for a massage.

Five stars for Kayla, I felt so relaxed after, the tension melted away. Shes awesome! And 5 more stars for the front office, very professional and kind. I felt taken care of. I even bought a massage package afterward.

I see Josefa at this location. She does a wonderful job of helping me to pinpoint the cause of my tension/pain and working it out. I’ve gone back to her multiple times because she is patient, accurate and the appropriate level of firmness for my needs.

Kayla is always great but my last visit she was so accommodating for my error. I got my calendar mixed up & got Botox less than 24 hours before my massage (you shouldn’t lay or massage your face for at least 24 hours). I didn’t want to cancel last minute so I came in anyways. Kayla was able to quickly adapt to a faux prenatal type massage position so I didn’t have to lay on my face.

Jennifer is a great therapist! She gets into the muscles with the perfect amount of pressure, relieving the tension with very little pain. She seems to be a very caring and conscientious person with years of experience. I will definitely be asking for her on future visits when I’m in Houston.

Really great pressure during facial massage. Im not sure Ive had a better cleansing of my skin. Overall I highly recommend Sophia for a facial. My skin was glowing and it was super relaxing.

The massage by Marco was excellent! The fact that the front desk could not give me back $2 in cash, having paid for my massage with cash was irksome. To my knowledge, cash is still legal tender. Management take note.

Jennifer is the best reason to visit Massage Envy. I have been going to see her for years, and am loyal to this location solely because of her. She is tiny but Mighty! Jennifer gives a great massage and is incredibly skilled. If you like DEEP TISSUE, ask for her and make sure they put you down for “deep tissue “. You will not be disappointed!

Hugo is an exceptional massage therapist. He listens and concentrates on working on the areas you are having issues with. I would give him 6 stars if I could!

Hugo and Marco are top notch, professional, quality massage therapists. Their ability to find the areas that need the most work is uncanny and skillful. I workout 5 days a week and go in at least once a month to manage muscle tension, soreness, and tightness. Both therapists sre Highly recommended. Theyll listen to your concerns and adjust accordingly their massage plan i go to either of these two: whoever is available at the time I can come in.

I will NEVER book or refer a friend to book here again. My first time scheduling with this franchise for a couples massage. I made the appointment the night before and the only availability they had was as soon as they opened. Unfortunately, we were unable to make the appointment due to my child not feeling well and tried calling multiple times. No one answered and instead of even attempting a curtesy call after seeing the missed calls. they charged my card FULL PRICE for no call no show. I spoke with someone following the charges and was told I would be hearing from a manager and still nothing. This place is nothing but a scam that clearly doesn’t care about customers.

The massage provided by Maria was very good and it helped reduce the pain at my lower back. I highly recommend her.

Josefa is one of the best masseuses in the Massage Envy network. If you are looking for a firm to deep tissue pressure, book a session with her and you won’t be disappointed.

Josefa at the Bunker Hill location was fabulous. Strong hands, very smooth in transitions and anticipated my needs very well. She ( for massage) and Shelsea (esthetician) are amazing and terrific in their craft.

I’ve been going to this location for many years, and the only person I will see is Jennifer. She has so much strength, and she really knows how to find and get out every little tiny knot - including in places I’d never even think a knot might be - like in my toes!! She’s also very sweet and funny. I always feel so sad when our time is over. I wish I could afford to see her daily!

Excellent care and emphasis on comfort and attention to painful areas. Daniel always makes sure I am covered and draped properly. He is highly skilled for deep tissue massage and careful around injuries.Daniels expertise is great as you are guaranteed to feel improved and always are given instruction to improve a joints range of motion.

First time getting a micro derm infusion facial and it couldnt have been easier or more relaxing. Sophia put me right at ease. Were going to get it together. I walked out feeling brand new. Definitely want to continue on with this training program.

Weve been members with ME forever and while masseuse tend to come/go there have been a few consistent providers we would recommend for firm pressure. Thats not to say they cant do other types of massage, just that firm is what we have experience with regarding their skill sets.Josefa at Bunker Hill is a wonderfully talented masseuse and has a knack for finding the pinch points and working them out. She understands how one area connects to another and she follows the symptoms to the source in order to resolve the underlying issues. She has a deft hand, patience, and her experience shows.Shea (Bunker Hill) is also wonderfully talented. Strong hands, innate understanding of cause/effect, great technique, truly hears where you need extra attention and spends time addressing those areas, but does not neglect the whole.Patia and Lilianna are gifted as well and although our schedules dont line up as often, we keep them on our go-to list for excellent care.Daniel has been at Bunker Hill for as long as we can remember and he gives a consistently solid massage. Very knowledgeable.Luis (BH) is also good and has spent his life learning various techniques and applications.A little further away, but worth mentioning, Johnny at Garden Oaks is excellent as well. Wonderful pressure, thorough coverage, and great technique.Nothing is perfect all the time, and weve had our share of not so great experiences, but these hard working folks have consistently kneaded away our knots and kept us moving.Massage is a personal experience, and what we prefer may not be what you like, but we wanted to highlight those who have been dependable for us in hopes it helps others.

Over the years of going to this location there have been administrative mis-steps, and at times challenges. They eventually get resolved. As far as the masseuse is concerned, theres only one person that keeps me coming back, Daniel, who is a true professional. Been seeing him for several years, and I always leave feeling better than when I arrived. I was hesitant to write this review because of the risk of him getting an influx of clients that makes it even harder than it is already to get an appointment with him, but that would be selfish. :) I appreciate the man.

Jennifer gave me one of the best deep tissue massages I’ve ever had! She kept making sure the pressure was okay and let me know she has been doing this for 13 years. She really used her hands and elbows as well but most who do deep tissue don’t use their thumbs and she definitely got in all the knots I had and I have been drinking my water Ike she suggested!

Tricky business practice!The menu written 60 min. but the actual service is only less than 45 min.43 min. for $65 first time facial massage to be exact.I asked during consultation does the time start now? She said no, it starts when you are actually getting the massage.Another consultation in the massage room. I asked, does the time start now? She said no, it starts when she bring in stuff.And then while I lay on the bed, she actually said the time starts now so I looked at the time on my phone it was 3:19 pm and when the massuse said finished. I looked at the time it was 4:02 so total service time is 43 min. for $65 and I do not think its worth it.When I tried to make my case, the front staff said Oh Im sorry if I didnt inform you I just didnt want to make a big deal, paid, and left...I have had better facial massage experience elsewhere. Meh...The 2 stars are for clean massage bed.

I went to a prenatal massage at Massage envy at banker hill. I normally go the one in Memorial and I like there very much. Banker hill was a disappointment. I don’t think the therapist was really a prenatal massagist specialist.

For me, it’s been about 20+ years since I’ve had my last facial Josephine was very informative and recommended a 2 to 3 month regiment. She did an excellent job.

I was robbed from this place. I made an apoointment for my daughter on saturday nov 11 at 12 pm. Came here and they told me the appt was yesterday. I never agreed to a friday appointment. My daughter has school during the week. They charged my card because they marked it as a no show. When I told the representative I made the appointment for Saturday at 12pm. They robbed me. I did show up.

My mom sister and I were visiting family in Houston and made appointments for what we thought was this location. Well turned out we were at the wrong location and my brother had dropped us out and left and we only had a few minutes to make it to the right location. We didn’t know what to do and the manager Tovah without hesitation asked if we wanted her to take us to the correct location. If I could give more stars I would she was so nice and didn’t have to go out her way to take us but she did. She deserves a raise!!!!!! Thank you Tovah!!!!

If I lived here, I would make Hugo my person. I told him my hurt areas and he worked them out! Disappointed that I dont live here, but if you do or are visiting, I highly recommend him.

Amazing as always! Exactly the pressure I needed to help work out all the knots in my shoulders, and back during a hard week on the computer.

Hugo is the best! He is gentle and yet able to get out all the knots and tight areas, including those I didnt even realize were tense before the massage.

Very mediocre...I had massages done all over the world including US and not impressed at all...technique was basically pushing on the body, which is hardly called a massage...for 125 bucks I would expect something much better.

This by far is the best massage envy I have been to. I love the new management and the staff are AMAZING. Each therapist has their own unique way of massaging that you must each try all of them. Again people complain about the membership, but seriously just read it before signing it because its by far the best $65 each month I spend. Good Job to this location, and good job to the new managements especially the new manager Hannah.

Today I had a terrible experience at this massage envy. If I could give it a 0 star I would. My massage technician who I will refrain from naming on here, was clearly sick. The massage started out okay, however about 20 minutes in, he began coughing a ton. So much so that he mentioned he had allergies and not covid because he had been tested. He even stopped the massage to tell me he was getting a cough drop. I left the massage roughly 40 minutes early because I was very uncomfortable and because I could not relax between hearing him cough. I then was charged the full amount of the massage. The front desk receptionist did not even try to apologize or correct the issue and instead told me I can call in tomorrow to talk to a manager. I have been a member of massage envy for years and have never experienced anything close to this. This is my first and last visit to this location.

I have had my share of massages in my lifetime, some better than others. I can tell you that my experience at this location with Daniel was phenomenal!!!! I had a 55 minute massage and intend on spending longer the next time I go. Having a very active career and spending lots of time at the gym, his pressure was perfect and he managed to release several knots on my back. If you have not used him at this location I highly recommend it.

Daniel does a good job interacting with me as to my preferences during my session. He is courteous and efficient in his work.

Wasnt that happy at all with my massage. The recommended masseuse on the reviews werent available so I opt for the one that is only available on the time slot I am available. I keep saying to go harder or firmer and she acknowledges it but doesnt do it. I wasted the hour and getting no relief. She speaks English but I dont know if she understands less than she can speak. People up in front are nice though and helpful.

Scheduling an appointment was super easy. I spoke to Amber over the phone who was professional and courteous. I was very impressed by her even just being over the phone.Christine checked me in and she was also professional and friendly. COVID screen at the front, requested to wash hands while waiting for the massage. Everyone in masks. Appropriate protocols for covid precautions. Quick questionnaire regarding massage preferences and history. And even thanked me for being a nurse which I thought was sweet.Daniel was my massage therapist and I have to say it was one the best massages I have had. I asked for a medium pressure and no specific area.. just here to relax. His technique was amazing. What he did to my neck and shoulders was pure bliss. He is mindful of pressure and potential painful areas. The massage felt great! I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. This man deserves a raise! I will definitely come back to this location for my next massage.

Jennifer gives one of the best massages I’ve ever had. She is such a good person. I highly recommend choosing her as your massage therapist. It’s not just a job fir her it’s her passion.

So I became a member at the oakforest location and HATED IT however I had tons of paid for unused massages so I figured Id give this location a try and Julio didnt disappoint I was completely relaxed so much that I went sleep... for the first time ever I was asked to get on my back and was given the best neck and shoulder massage ever..... glad I didnt just waste my money and decided to venture to another location

Most massage therapists here are great, but please, just avoid one of them (dont remember exact name) who almost caused me an injury. If you get a thin lady with long hair attacking too hard, youll know shes the bad massage therapist. Shay and Jennifer are my favorites, and since most of the massage therapists here are great, I would still give this location a five star rating.

I had a massage here because I was desperate and in pain. I had never been before. It was a last minute appointment and they were able to get me in which I appreciated. However, my masseuse was a very hairy man. When he used his hands to massage, I was ok. But in areas he used his arms for pressure, it was very coarse and uncomfortable. My muscles felt better after but I wont be going back. I hadnt had a preference about having a male masseuse because this had never been an issue but I will definitely have a preference in the future.

Im extremely impressed by the staffs professionalism. The massages are top notch. Not only is the membership a huge bargain, the brand and staff deserve a 5-star rating in every sense. Special thanks to Paula and Ally for making me a loyal member.

I have been a member for years and have never cancelled any of my appointments. In fact, they have cancelled my appointments in the past. I tried to cancel my appointment today bc I was not feeling well and had a fever 2 hours before my appointment. The manager there, Morgan, was extremely rude and unprofessional and tried to insinuate that I was lying and that I still need to come and she will check my temperature when I get there! She stated that I shouldve called in the morning instead of 2 hrs before my appointment and basically its too bad that I am just now feeling sick. I told her that I do not feel comfortable putting the massage therapist at risk of covid and she laughed and said that I still need to come in. I think this is extremely unprofessional and I am cancelling my membership and will never be returning.

Marco is one of the best. If you want a deep tissue from sports related injuries, he’s your guy! Insane.

Regarding the actual massage, I have found some therapist that do a really great job so thats why Ive continued to come back.Having said that, Ive had issues in the past with making appointments and would really prefer if they had an online scheduling option. In the past, I would call and get the voicemail most of the time however I have to say that recently Ive had better luck talking to someone right away but sometimes get put on hold. Their request an appointment option isnt much help because if they call back and I miss the call... back to square one.

My experiences have been better at this location than the others. I am currently riding out already paid for accumulated massages and then will not be returning. The massage quality varies greatly and they don’t tell you that ahead of time. My most recent massage today wore gloves, which would have been nice to know when scheduling. I also asked for deep tissue and got a person not capable of it. Rubbing latex is not a relaxing sound for me. There were periods of not enough lotion and way to much, even a dollop on my head, as well as finger nails digging into my skin. I ended my 90 minute massage, 20 minutes early. I was still charged for it; well against my credits

They “accidentally” charged my credit card for a massage, when I had four credits in my account, on June 2nd. It’s now the last day of July and they still haven’t refunded anything. I’ve been in their office multiple times, called multiple times, and the excuses are all the same. They apologize and say that they can’t process refunds, only HR can do that.... and that they are still waiting. 7+ weeks is too long to wait. It’s 2019, it doesn’t actually take that long.

Im a massage envy member and Im use to a certain standard of how things are. This location wasnt one of the best. They didnt offer us any water before or after the session, the bed warmers didnt work and I was told if they started with a warm towel on my back that that was an enhancement for an extra fee and they started late and ended early. They insisted that I put a credit card on file with them even though I was already a member.I just didnt feel like I was being treated like I normally do when visiting any of the other locations. Very disappointed.

The establishment is very clean, everyone is very professional. Josefa is the best, my experience was very relaxing and I highly recommend her.

I always like to deal with the management for a resolve before posting a negative review and then will only post when I feel dismissed or it goes unresolved. So...my sister and I went into this location with a gift card from our mother. I had a great massage from Patricia but, once in the lobby to check out. I began to itch on my face. My first thought was a possible reaction to whatever was used during the facial massage. My sister and I discussed it as we patiently waited for the ladies to figure out how to apply our gift cards...thats a whole other story. Within an hour or so I had seemingly broken out on my face, both upper arms and shoulder (all exposed areas during the massage) I was itching really bad. A little later it became apparent that they were bites of some sort. Being that we went the day before a holiday I emailed the company that night and then called the next business day to inform them of my situation. By this time I was swollen, extremely itchy and just plain miserable. After speaking with the manager, emailing a statement and photos per request, I waited 2 weeks before finally being notified by the corporate office that They could neither prove or deny my claims since its never happened before. Even though I was told they called pest control in for a double dose. As she spoke I began to see I was being dismissed and asked would I be compensated in some way for my inconvenience and discomfort, especially now that I am scarred from the bites on my face and arms. She said no and thanked me for informing them of my issue. Would it have killed them to accept my word since I had proof and a witness, show some sincerity and if nothing else offer 1/2 off my next massage. Customer Service sucks. Wear your bug spray if you go here!!

It took me a very long time to find a good massage therapist and after they reopened from the pandemic she didn’t come back.All the other massage therapist I tried didn’t really seem to know what they were doing.No flexibility on cancelation window and now I am stuck with a credit that I won’t be able to redeem.

The quality of the massage at this location was sub-par, so I had to drive to a much more distant location for a year to get good value for my money. Finally after a year I was able to cancel. That was in November, it is now May, and they are STILL charging me every month. I called multiple times and was told on every occasion that everything is taken care of and I will be refunded shortly. Nothing happened. I finally had to contest the charges via my credit card, several times. Every time my credit card was able to get me a refund after a few week of investigation. YET Massage Envy just keeps charging me.

I wouldnt typically review a place without stepping foot in their door, but I think this location needs a wake up call. Several reviews state bad customer service with the front desk, but I brushed that off because I wanted a one-time massage at this location(Im a 4 year Massage Envy member). I called to schedule and I was put on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. I can only imagine how poorly they operate at this location. Sad.

This franchise has some incredibly dishonest billing practices. Beware that when you sign up for a 6 month membership they will automatically try to renew without notifying you. If I wanted to keep being billed past my 6 month membership, I would have signed up for the 12 month membership. The business model appears to be similar to that of a gym, where they make it difficult to cancel a membership, and they rely on you leaving your membership active without actually going in for services.

The place is OK. Front desk attendants are usually clueless. They had advertising in the bathroom that I could use my HSA account to pay for the treatments. I asked the front desk if I needed any medical paperwork or anything and she said no, you can just use it, no restrictions. Went home and looked up the IRS code and she was wrong, you can only pay with your HSA if your doctor prescribed you therapeutic massage. The therapists are good and bad. My favorite there is Liliana.

I havent even been. I scheduled an appointment online and no one calls. When I call and talk to someone, they always say that the online appointment scheduler isnt working. Really? For a multi-franchise operation that relies on scheduling, thats a big issue to have. Then, their availability is either booked or doesnt work with my schedule. What a wasted gift certificate!

I absolutely love this place. It doesn’t matter who I see I always leave feeling relaxed. The front desk girls are so kind. Amber has been there forever and is so knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this location 1000%. Thanks, guys!

Shay was amazing and he enjoyed his massage with Sheryl as well I wanted him to be able to have the experience since his was his first massage 💆‍♂️ they were 💯 percent professional and the atmosphere was great and Shay almost put me to sleep lol I recommend her
