Green Oaks Tavern

I had been really wanting to check out @greenoakstavern ever since I came across their FB page. The verdict, Im not disappointed. Went on a Tue around 5pm with my wife and friend, reason: to close out her birthday week. It was happy hour; bought a Corona, a few good Margaritas, great Bloody Mary, & whiskey on the rocks. Spent about $30. The atmosphere was chill, the place was a bit smaller than what I expected but thats not a problem. Good to know for when I go back for a live event Ill know to get there a bit early to find a good seat. Overall, I like A LOT!!!👍🏼👍🏼

We join for the Tuesday karaoke. I loved it! Small crowd, great DJ, opportunity to sing, kind audience. In summay, lots of fun!

You are not seeing live music in the Houston area if you dont stop at Greens Oaks. Awesome service , awesome staff, and music ...well the music what can I say you NEED to stop here and experience the REAL Houston music scene.

Humbles hidden gem! Small and quaint pub for grown folk. Went with friends on a Thursday evening for a birthday celebration. We all had a great time. The band did not disappoint! Margaritas on point! The owner was very friendly and staff accommodating. Will return again and again.

Decided to go here after a disappointing experience at another venue.We were not here long but the live music was great, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the waitress was prompt and friendly.We had no trouble parking and the parking lot was in good condition. The tavern was about half full so parking may be a problem on a busy night.I will definitely be coming back.

Do not go here, they will not serve you if you have a certain “appearance”. Bartenders were 2 white folks with dreadlocks that refused to greet or serve us. Came in with my boyfriend 40 minutes before close for a drink because I wanted to check out the local spots. The place looked cute and I normally work late so I’m unable to go but I got an unexpected early day so we decided to go. Only a few people were there but we sat at the bar for 10 minutes, said hi and were utterly ignored. Would definitely recommend going to Shamrocks Pub just around the corner instead. The service is immaculate and the bar is HUGE so it’s great for all different types of vibes and they have games!! Basically Green Oaks sucks and Shamrocks is awesome, had a blast at Shamrocks!

Visiting from out of state, bar tender had a cool look with dreadlocks but acted like we were bothering her. We had 1 beer each and left, we were trying to find out if there were places we should check out while we were here, she was no help and we didn’t feel welcome. Would not go back.

I was never told @ the door or when I started ordering I had to pay a cover. There was a live band in the back room. I sat at the bar, yes I enjoyed the music but no different than radio or jukebox. Very disappointing to see $15.00 cover charge and a $1.91 credit card service fee. Felt a little slimey to get cover charges and credit card fees without letting someone know.

This is a hidden Gem!!! They have open mic night and live music every night. Wonderful talented people gather here!!! And Steve, the owner, is so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend this place 💯!!!!!!!

Great atmosphere, small place with indoor outdoor seating. I so love the Smoking outside only, on certain days they have cigar day. They have a live band every day, music is amazing, staff and owners are very nice and welcoming. Well organized establishment, food is good, bartenders know their stuff. Everyday specials you can find information on Instagram and their website. There are days you will pay a cover charge but it it well worth it. If you like a calm, romantic, relaxing, older crowd, piano bar type place then this is the place for you. Hidden gem.

Excellent place to have a drink and listening to great musicians, the staff is nice, they have some snacks and appetizers if hunger shows up, sound is great, If you have sensitive hearing get a couple earplugs in case you seat close to the speakers, I will definitely go again.

The Green Oaks Tavern is a hidden gem in Humble, TX. Its a great room to watch and enjoy primarily blues bands, north of Houston. Its a small, intimate setting that brings in national acts. Well worth the visit.

Music was great $15 cover charge on friday was added to your bill when you check out.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed Ruben V and band.Super blues rock. We plan to see home multiple times this year. Go see this guy . he is so tsslenred

Nice place to stop in to sit and listen to music, small club but cozy, located inside a building from 1928. Has brick walls on inside.On the main street in Humble, pretty green lights covering large oak tree in front, Multiple parking on street depending on what day of the week, and a side of venue parking aera.I didnt eat so cant speak of the food, but staff and waitresses were very attentive and freindy,

I love this place! Very good atmosphere, the only problem is one off the waitress’s with weird looking appearance is very rude! But Steve the owner is a wonderful person!!! Recommend to check it out

My friends and I went to their open mic night. After purchasing drinks, and enjoying 3 HOURS of performances, right before my friend was supposed to perform, THE ACTUAL OWNER OF THE BAR (I had to ask because of the audacity) told ME he wasnt interested in hearing the performance. I went to his bar WITH MY MEXICAN FRIENDS in HUMBLE TEXAS to watch them perform for the first time, but apparently he wasnt interested in their performance. Not sure why he told the one white person why he didnt want to hear their performance when I wasnt even the one performing! We spoke to so many of the patrons and met so many lovely people, it genuinely shocked me when we were asked to leave. In 2023. Guess some still just cant stand to mix with people outside their comfort zone????? I cant reiterate enough that the actual PATRONS OF THE BAR were so excited to hear their performance but the older white male with the rat tail that apparently owns the place told the ONE WHITE PERSON in the group that we werent welcome. WOW

Support Local Business! The absolute best place I’ve been in a while. They have outdoor seating under trees that light up at night. The bartender is the sweetest and can make whatever you ask. The people who fill the bar have so many great stories- so much life and love. On Thursday night they have open-mic and let me just say.. Humble has some amazing talent. Unmatched! I cannot wait to go back and experience a different day of the week.

Me and my friend were waiting at the bar before he was supposed to perform - he was sober, and I was only a little tipsy. The owner of the bar came up to us and decided to kick us out, saying we overstayed our welcome. We explained that he was there to perform, then the owner said he didnt care and didnt recognize us, and kicked us out anyways. So much for a live music bar - is this how you treat your musicians who give you your business?

Great spot for listening to live music. Saw one person I have met through the years - having married John Matlock! Nice to have met the owners, Steve and Debbie Bixby. Their building is the old Humble courthouse! Lots of history! Check out (the building), them (Steve and Debbie) and the daily live music for a little local taste of Texas!

My wife and I went here for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. The place was cozy and relaxing. The owner and staff were very friendly, making our night one to remember. The thing that really caught us off guard was that a few patrons heard it was our anniversary, and made a point to come over and wish us well. Live music, friendly staff, relaxing environment... we will definitely be coming back. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing night.

I went here to see the “No Refund Band” and it was pretty great! The music was fantastic, the atmosphere was really good. Me and my girl had a good time here. I definitely recommend and plan to return.

The Green Oaks Tavern was a really pleasant surprise. They have some of the best blues talent in Houston and the US that performs there. If you want to seat you must get there early. They have a calendar in there seems to be lots of music happening at this location. Enjoy

Really enjoyed my visit. Great service and the music on the night I was there was by Kent Burnside and a group of very talented and fun backups. It was great. Its a small intimate place that makes you feel very comfortable.

Living in Humble for 4 Years, I am disappointed I havent learned about this place sooner. First impressions was a nice cozy bar, nice decor and atmosphere. TVs with sports games on, a library room when you want to have quiet conversations during live music. And then the live music selection was out of this world. Acoustics were great, sound system clear and no feedback. The owners definitely deeply care about the customers, bar, and live music selection. Excellent selection of spirits, and higher end whiskey. Perfect for sipping. Bartenders are friendly, and have been working at the establishment for over 15 years. Crowd is friendly, older crowd, but still younger bar goers in 30s will still appreciate this bar. Definitely will be back.

Last night was the first time Id been here. I loved the atmosphere, the band, and the owners were very hospitable. I highly recommend it for a cozy, friendly atmosphere. It was a bit far for me coming from Conroe, but was certainly worth the trip and I WILL come back.

I love the character of this old building! Its an old jailhouse, library and fire station. The venue has great drinks, some snacks to nibble on if you get hungry, and they book amazing bands! I cant wait to go back!

Nice local bar with live music. The owner hangs out there. Happy hour prices are good. Only negative is the owner and bartender are unvaccinated and no masks.After drink we walked across the street to Humble City Cafe and had a nice dinner.

I absolutely love this place, my husband and I have been coming to them for quite some time. The live music is absolutely wonderful, and the band is extremely talented and well versed. The 2 bartenders are amazing and they are very good at remembering you. By far the best apple tini I have had, and Ive been all over Houston and Ive paid, well over 25 dollars for a apple tini and the bartenders here by far, have beat everyone that Ive been to in Houston. This is a very underrated bar, it is one of those local gems.

Best place to go for live music! The music is always mind blowing and in such a personal setting rates this place #1! You wont find another spot with this atmosphere, great drinks, amazing people, and jawdropping music!

Green Oak Tavern is a great place for up close live music. There is not a bad seat in the house. If you love music it makes for a great date night. There is no food but the drink prices are very reasonable.

This is a magnificent establishment right in downtown Humble. Everyone from the owners, to the staff, and guests are so friendly and fun. They have live music every night- top notch musicians that have you grooving while sipping.

They make the most out of all the historical space they have. Awesome establishment and the J. Hooks band... way way way underrated. Ol fire fingers is way more talent than Humble can hold, catch em while you can.

Classy, relaxing, friendly, they have karaoke nights and a band at times, bartender has been a long term employee there and is great with everyone. The drink I was suggested based off what I described I like and didnt was excellently. Good job:) People are also friendly. You just need to visit and see for yourself. Youll be back:)

4 beers $50.00...Absolutely 4 beers, not 6 beers, not happy...Management did reach out to me and voiced their displeasure of me and my review. I have been to this bar many times and never had an issue @ open mics... I didnt know I would pay full cover with 35 minutes of entertainment, My fault, had I known we would have passed.. This was the 1st place I have ever not left a tip...I felt cheated..sorry..I did reach out to my friend who was performing and apologized if I was disruptive during his show.. His honest professional courtesy is always welcome...

A Texas classic. Really outstanding acts in an intimate setting. People watching almost as much fun as the music. All very reasonable in price. Ill be regular.

Great Little Pub with Friendly Staff. Smoking is allow which is a downside but the atomsphere is good. The Beer collection is decent. Tuesdays is two dollar drafts all night. Good place to meet up for a few.

Good music, kind of pricey drinks for the area, Angie and Joe are very attentive and work hard to please the customers. Cover charges for the music are a big downside IMO. Old owners didnt charge to listen to great music.

Nice little place for a drink or with a date. I was invited by a buddy to check out a local band.The music was not so loud so the you could carry on a conversation. They have wheelchair access and no smoking inside the tavern, smoking areas outside.

We came here for the first time tonight and had A BLAST! The martinis are spot on, Chrissy and Angie were awesome and the musical entertainment was great too. We will be back ANYTIME we can ditch the kids. This is our new spot for martinais from now on (new inside joke, because I was so far gone and couldnt spell anymore). Thanks!!
