Cool massive old building, Egyptian room was pretty good size and had pretty good sound for a metal show .Staff was friendly but like every Live Nation owned facility drinks were absurd, plan on over $30 for two drinks.Wasn’t a bad experience, just wish Live Nation didn’t own it because prices are higher for everything.
The live nation security staff were absolutely phenomenal here. Our daughter was attending her first concert and had a panic attack from the excitement and noise. We were about to leave when a gentleman from security got her a glass of water and got us to a less crowded area for her to calm down and saved the day! She enjoyed the rest of her time and so did we! Great job Live Nation Security!
My experience overall was really good. I went to see Sabrina Carpenter and the line moved fast and it felt very organized. It didnt feel too crowded when arriving and in lines. Reviews said it got really hot but I didnt feel too hot, it depends on the person. I think any view in the room is great and was surprised how well I could see.
Huge theatre. I went to see my favorite band Hiatus Kaiyote. I loved the Egyptian wall art. The was enough space for us to not be crowded or on top of each other. I wasnt able to make it to the Chicago concert so I traveled to Indianapolis. Surprised to see how organized the theatre was too. Went to Waffle House after because its a delicacy we dont have in the Chi. Overall great experience at the Old Egyptian
Amazing venue and staff for a metal concert. I would say over staffed, but never a line for a drink (maybe not great) and mind blowingly nice. Nothing to do with the venue, but I have a gut feeling bands could find a way to sell merch faster with the same merch staff. Seems like a missed opportunity. The Avatar community is awesome. If you wanted a fun low key mosh/circle pit, it was here. Glad to see some young people joining the metal circus. And happy to be accepted by them as well given I think I am kind of square. :-(
Horrible experience. I was escorted out because I got overheated. Instead of having me checked out by a medic like they said they were going to do as required for medical emergencies, they paraded me through the bands backstage like a criminal and made me leave, to drive nearly 200 miles home alone, sick and confused in the middle of the night. I bought my ticket months in advance and only got to see Avatar perform 2 songs because I got sick. Security and medical staff should be ashamed for humiliating and endangered the well-being of a paying customer who caused absolutely no problems for anyone.
I took my 10 year old to her first concert in February 2022 at the Egyptian Room. We saw Palaye Royale and Yungblud. We were close to the front and left of stage and it was perfect. We were near the security area and when my daughter was getting hot they gave her a bottle of water. They were also handing out waters to those in the crowd up front. It was VERY warm in there once the crowd was packed in and show was going. I never felt unsafe with my young daughter being there, though. It was an incredible experience to share with her. She also was able to get Dom’s autograph after the show outside! Definitely would go back to see other shows there!
Easy to locate, & get into the venue. Seating was very disappointing, & very tight. As the show started, so many people entered the isle, as people couldnt locate their seats & became just stuck in the isle. We missed the 1st 20 minutes of the show, then after that it was hit or miss what we could see. $6 for a water.
Gorgeous, unique venue in downtown Indy. Sound and looks great! Things to note: if you are going to primarily female crowd, don’t wait to pee until it’s a panic, the line can get long. There is another bathroom downstairs too. There are no seats so be prepared to stand. Wear comfy shoes. Get there early to get a good spot. In the back can be tough to see if you’re on the shorter side.
Fast pass is a rip off. We were 4th in line for fast pass. The general admission people were let in before we were. No fast pass for us....why pay for this service. Then lets talk about upgrade to the deck. $40.00 a person to sit in junky cafeteria wobly chairs. 1 waitress who was completely lost. $28 dollar tickets turned into 100.00 tickets with worthless fast past and upgrade of seats. 32.00 for a beer and a mixed drink with a tip. I could have bought great seats at a real bands concert for less. No knock on The Arena Rock Show, they were fun. Just not worth the money for a general admission concert....BUYER BEWARE.
Great place to see a show. Pay parking at the venue is totally worth it. Always have nice people working there.
I saw a concert in this venue and it was a very nice room. Fairly easy to get in and out of friendly staff, I would highly recommend.
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Came here for a concert. When trying to get out of the crowd, one of the security guards was walking with me because I couldn’t get through. Meanwhile, he groped me on the way out, and after I proceeded to tell him not to touch me, he continued to so. Reported this to a higher authority, so hopefully they handle it.
I have had great experiences at this venue and have seen wonderful performers for moderate prices. HOWEVER. The basement is absolutely unreal. Every time I have seen a show downstairs I have been near fainting from the heat. There are never fans or air conditioning and even in the winter it is terribly hot. Thankfully, security hands out water sometimes but it usually doesn’t make it very far back into the crowd. I am practically begging y’all for something to happen with the downstairs. Industrial fans, AC, just something. Because everything else is great. (Asides from overpriced drinks but that’s to be expected).
Never been in a venue quite like it. Very cool space.
One of the best places for metal concerts. The concession prices are outrageous though.
My boyfriend broke his foot after he purchased tickets for the Egyptian Room. Everyone at the venue was super accommodating and helped us make it a wonderful experience. Thank you!
Very solid venue Ive been here twice now since Covid for shows and the main room is stunning with the lights and decorated walls. Also extremely grateful that they let me bring in this little poster I made. Only complaint is that there doesnt seem to be water fountains and they only sell Liquid Death which are cans so you cant be ballin on a budget and get a bottle to cram into the bathroom sink to refill. No big deal tho Id for sure see more shows here!
It’s a ballroom not a theater. Terrible seating at floor level. Except people seated at first few rows, the rest can’t see the stage properly. It’s a joke in the name of theatre. Don’t waste your money.
I just saw dayglow and it was a terrible experience. This is the worst concert I’ve ever been to not because of the artists but because of security. There were supposed to be 3 lines one for vip one for fast pass and one for general admission. Not one security guard would tell us where each line started so everyone was mixed. Then when we got into the venue and we got cut so many times and no one did anything about it.
Love this place for any concert I’ve been to. Friendly staff and a cool vibe. We’ve been here 4 times now and plan to come through again.
The accommodations for ADA are terrible. Its a small boxed off area to the side where you can barely see the stage. And it holds about 6 people. So dont plan on being with the people you came with. They have to stay outside of the box.The only reason Im giving it two starts is because I suppose its good they have ADA accommodations. But I only bought the tickets because they said there would be some and they were a joke.If you need accessibility, join VIP club and sit at tables on risers. At least you can see over people that way.
Amazing venue so gorgeous. Staff were so kind and always went above and beyond. Hope to go to more shows here
Protip-- the box office probably has your tickets and you pay a smaller fee to the Old National Centre compared to Ticketmaster/Live Nation, so support your local business, get a good deal, AND have a physical ticket stub as a keepsake! Not sure how I havent reviewed this spot yet because its been so amazing and good to me since moving to Indianapolis about 10 years ago. Every show Ive seen had been fantastic! The Egyptian Room handles all genres Ive seen very well, and the room itself is gorgeous. From dubstep to metal to folk to indie, each performance sounded great, and the room has never felt too large or too small! I also have to shout out the staff who are helpful and friendly, keep lines moving, take such good care of patrons, and more. Bathrooms are well stocked and clean, and theres always a decent variety of drinks to choose from. I love The Egyptian Room and it is hands down my favorite venue!
Great place to see a concert. The room decorations were really cool and the acoustics were good. Easy to grab a quick drink before going in and it was pretty easy to get out of when the concert was over.
Very friendly staff that seemed to really care about keeping guests safe and wanting them to have fun :)
Excellent long-term concert venue / night club 🙌❤️🔥🙌
Great show and location. Got to see The Dropkick Murphys finally. Alcohol is insanely expensive
The Clyde in Fort Wayne is better.
I worked here as a freelance live sound engineer for a while, mostly downstairs in the smaller club. I miss it! Saw Breaking Benjamin here before I started. Great show.
Please use two spots for comedy acts! And backlight! Hard to see the fabulous Nick Kroll when the spot op was understandably laughing then stops following and Kroll is in the dark! Please. As an LD and a patron, get a second spot, budget or not.
Lines were too long. Our particular bartender was extremely slow.
Won concert tickets no one ever said to anybody that the concert was canceled and then the concert was moved 3 more months 😕😒 a notice would have been great or something on the web site something
What a great time seeing Ryan Bingham play here. Make sure to wear comfy shoes because it is standing room only!
Loved this place! Went to see tech n9ne here and it was amazing!! The Egyptian room is beautiful and the bass in there (whooow, good stuff)
Amazing venue. Everything from the architecture to the very polite and helpful staff. I will most definitely return.
I recommend paying extra for the premium seats if you dont like standing for the whole show
Spent Valentines day there for the black veil brides and asking Alexandria concert it was the best Valentines day ever.
My favorite venue, hands-down. I’ve attended a number of shows here, and it’s always an incredible atmosphere.
Loved attending White Party. We had excellent seats.
This venue? Trash. The security? TRASH. Overall experience TRASH. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A VENUE.
Ive been here to see Markiplier and group, Stone Sour, and The Grumps live and I absolutely love this place
Charges 8 dollars for beer like robbers and then won’t let you carry it out.
Great small venue just a little overpriced for and drinks
Every show Ive seen there has been awesome
Brothers Osborne performed there. Amazing. I can go on and on and on. Peace
Very tight seating, on floor level. Other than that it was very nice.
I went there to see In Real Life perform and it was A W E S O M E and C R A Z Y AF
Great venue for concert.. Johnny Swim.. Amazing
My favorite venue to see a concert. I drive 3 hours just to see my favorite bands play concerts here.
