A magic show with a story! Could you have imagined it! The feeling of being overwhelmed by emotions the whole time you watch it!! I screamed with the American couple sitting next to me. Goosebumps!! A mystery that cant be solved even after watching it~ Thats right, a magician who even broke through the Great Wall of China!!
Tonights performance was great! He did a very good job with all of his illusions. Showing up on a motorcycle out of nowhere, a classic car appearing from seemingly nowhere, popping a balloon inside of another balloon that was inside of a clear box, all sorts of amazing things! He works personal stories into his magic, which actually is pretty cool. Amazing sets and props. I wont mention a lot, so as to leave it for a surprise. Definitely a fun show, worth attending!
The show was spectacular, interesting, involving, full of special effect! The reason why I put 3 stars is because I’m used to real MAGIC, I wasn’t expecting to be projected inside a 5D movie with astronauts and dinosaurs or blue ufo .. but instead I was expecting something more unique and less redundant.. something that really point on the artist talent and capacity to capture the audience with incredible mental trick, where the magician has to work hard to really do magicThe only one close to a classic magician, was when a lady was asked to think about someone famous . Obviously she had no idea who was Abram Lincoln and that part was a naaaaa David , you haven’t guessed her prediction.. sorry.. that was already written there !As I said, less work from David Copperfield part , that looks like more a show coordinator then a magician .. more work from the stuff members and their special effectWould be better to perform once a month but with passion and dedication then everyday without the possibility to connect with the audience
Watching a David Copperfield magic show right now is kind of like watching Michael Jordan play basketball at the end of his career. He can still do things that wow you, but it’s obvious to everyone that he should have retired years ago while he was on top. The big illusions are pretty jaw-dropping. All the stuff in between the big illusions are mildly annoying at best. His audience plants are obvious. He’ll throw a frisbee out into the audience to try to make you think he’s picking someone at random, but if the frisbee doesn’t go to the right person, he’ll just tell the person that caught it to give it to the correct “random” person. The sound system was horrible. Either your ears bled from the volume being turned up too much, or you couldn’t hear anything that David was mumbling. David’s jokes weren’t nearly as amusing to his audience as they were to him. In fact, I didn’t see him being the kind of performer that needed to stoop to “sausage fest” jokes to survive in this business. The email trick was supposed to leave you amazed, but instead it just showed me that nothing about his show was random at all and actually made the show worse in retrospect. Cut the stupid email trick!Like I said, the big tricks were pretty spectacular. The motorcycle, the car, the spaceship, the dinosaur, AMAZING! Like Michael Jordan, David Copperfield is possibly the magician G.O.A.T. and his show is still worth seeing. Just be prepared that you’ll have to grit your teeth through everything outside of the big illusions. I’d love to see David take on a protege and teach them all the secrets so the Copperfield genre of magic will live on in Las Vegas!
Im amazed at the better reviews. We purchased 17 tickets to this show. Not one of the people in our group was impressed or happy. In fact at least 50% of our group left within 30 minutes. His Dads story was sweet, but who really knows if its true and he spent so much time talking and not near enough time showing us what he is famous for. Yes some of it was cool and sort of baffling. But the majority was quick talk you couldnt understand, and him trying to be funny. he doesnt have to be funny. It was boring and definitely not what I expected. Id pay probably $20 to see this show and no more if you really really want to see him. Otherwise go to the Mayflower or see Absinthe. Our honest opinion, it was awful! Very disappointing. Unfortunately I think its time to retire Mr. Copperfield.
I saw the show last night and It was awful. Id give it negative stars if I could. Not enough magic. 10% magic and 90 % filler. We learned about his dad, his sadness that his dad died, his favorite toy and then a very long segment on a little ET creature who kept telling us that love is so important. Very boring. Even the magic wasnt great because we sat in the third row and we could see how the tricks were done. One time he made a man disappear and we could see how the trick was done and one time Copperfield disappeared and we could briefly see his feet. Very sloppy. Copperfield also has a huge ego and kept motioning to the audience to clap or even to give him a standing ovation. My group was 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we all felt the same. Maybe this show was good years ago but it seemed old and tired. Dont waste your time or your money!!
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I went to one of David Copperfields shows on 7/14, and had a blast! He was very interactive with the crowd, and my fiance and I even got picked to go on stage! There are quite a few grand reveals that are truly mesmerizing and left us talking about them for days. I think it is well worth the money, and the experience. One negative: the seats are set up similar to a comedy show (some not facing the stage), and the tables are very small. Get a booth if you can. If you DONT want to be a part of the show, avoid row C! One trick is performed in that row, and you will be moved on stage during that time, which was AWESOME to me, but may freak some people out.Overall 5/5 stars! We even talked about going to watch the show again while were here.
Probably the best big Family show in Vegas. I’ve seen the show 3 times, the first I was near the front when my friend invited me and bought the tickets, the second time in the middle, and last night I was in the back with my handi-capable friend. Copperfield show told us in the beginning to not video or photo the show, but if anyone who like pushing boundaries and keep memories it’s me. I attempted to take shots with my Meta glasses and the staff was quick to have me delete them. They were polite and professional about it, which you have to admire about DC’s staff selection. What I realized is that moment I attempted to capture for myself, even though it’s on the advertising motion video in the hall, was the closer, and the big bit after an encore. The show, and seeing and experiencing it live, realizing at the end that it was all a beautiful illusion and journey the team took us on, is second to none.Go see it, bring your friends to see it like I did. Your family and friends will thank you. Worth every penny.
The “plot” was ok but a bit cheesy and very self absorbed. David looked tremendously bored and lacking any energy, warmth, or oomph. He didn’t perform any classic magic tricks- just a lot of very fancy and expensive illusions on a chaotic set with lots of money and helpers on stage. The experience was like watching special fancy effects on set for a movie with a limitless budget. I felt bad for my kids ages 10 and 8- they didn’t get to experience what the “wow of magic” feels like.
Where to start… So this show was a complete waste of time and money. Tons of cringe worthy moments in the show. Whether it was when interacting with people in the crowd from other countries and adapting their accents in a joking manner to communicate with them better or making numerous poop and fart jokes or pandering for applause. He preformed five tricks in the over hour show and only two were worth an applause. One disappearing act you can literally see him hunched over crawling…sad! Majority of the show consists of nonsensical stories and poor animatronics. I would highly recommend avoiding this show at any cost. The only reason cameras are not allowed has to be to protect David Copperfield from himself because I’m sure he would be finished if his act / behavior was exposed. I went to Branson Missouri a few weeks prior and the random magician that I seen there was way more impressive.
Is David still amazing? Yes, but you can tell he’s been doing this show three times a day, multiple days per week. He seemed short with some of the audience members and at points spoke his lines so fast that we didn’t understand him. But his magic was top notch and we both thoroughly enjoyed the show. Definitely worth it if you are in Vegas.
David copperfield still has it despite his advanced age. I love how he told his story in his show. He pulled off his magic tricks Flawlessly. This showroom is big but the seats are too close together. We sat at a shared booth. The booths are made for four people but they only fit three regular sized people. If you are a big person then you will not be comfortable in the booths.I really enjoyed the magic show.
This was the first time we ever witnessed a magic show. We bought tickets a couple of hours before the show and were able to find good seats, but we recommend buying tickets for the first three rows of the show, not to give too much away ;) I would say thee arent any bad seats in terms of viewing the show, as long as you have decent vision. Another surprising thing about the seats is that you are likely to be seated with people that you dont know if its just the two of you as it was for us. Luckily for us, we ended up having a great conversation with the older couple we were seated with. We also recommend ordering a drink before the show as there are no waiters coming to your seat or through the aisles during the performance. Also, do not expect to use your phone during the show. You will have access to it but you will see throughout the night staff walking the aisles to ensure you are not taking any photos or videos of the performance. Very enjoyable experience for us.
By far was the worst Vegas show we have ever seen if I could give negative stars I would! We have known who David Copperfield was since we were kids and he was supposedly the best magician ever but there was literally no magic it was all cheesy staged acting and his weak effort to try to be funny which he is not! He clearly has staged actors that are part of his show and it’s so so very obvious. It’s a dead giveaway because he kept saying to the “randomly selected audience member” we just met, you were chosen by random right?! One of the actors sat right in front of us and we saw the usher come get her for her part as an audience member. We seriously almost walked out mid-show but paid $100 for each ticket! Save your money or else you will surely be disappointed. One last message abracadabra you should retire David!!!
After reading reviews I was hesitant. But we were so glad we went. It was absolutely fantastic. Yes, a couple of the smaller illusions were a stretch to believe people involved werent plants. But neither of us saw the other issues people talked about. There were zero raunchy jokes, he was professional and looked like he DID care, and we did not feel he raced through his lines or mumbled. Hes just a fast talker. We originally had frontrow seats, but after reading reviews we switched to further back. THAT was a big mistake. Sitting up front would have been incredible and we were both pretty mad we switched our seats. So it totally would have been worth the extra $30-50 to be up front. So overall, fantastic and worth every penny. And we both agreed it would be a great show for kids.
David seems so bored with everything he does doing on stage. He spends way too much time talking and not nearly enough magic. Some of his illusions are genuinely mind blowing but his audience work is so fake that it’s embarrassing. He throws a frisbee to “prove” the person he chooses wasn’t planted but when the wrong person catches it, he tells them to give it to someone else that he obviously planted.
I remember David from when I was a kid and his name rings nostalgia from watching him on TV. After watching him in person, unfortunately, I was slightly caught off guard by his facial expressions. He looked like he was fatigued from the magic tricks. He wasn’t impressed nor did he sell the trick as if it was my first time but his 100th time. I’d describe his body language as sarcastic yet, not enthusiastic. It felt too mundane and rehearsed so much that he was over it.
Just saw the show last night 6/16/24. Really really really sad to see a legend put pathetic show that he did. You’re better off watching YouTube videos of him back in the day. I mean it was sad. He hast to use a prompt as a fake alien that takes up about 60% of the show that is completely ridiculous. All the magic is gone and has been taken out of this show. Don’t waste your money on seeing an old legend put on a very sad show. The show isn’t worth $10 to go see. For a man that is close to 70 have such fake hair and to use his father‘s name and the show was just sad. 😔 very pathetic
He was great. Only complaint is he talked a little too fast which I understand hes been doing this show multiple times a day 5 days a week for years I just wish hed slow down a bit. but other than that amazing show highly recommend. Dont go in expecting illusion after illusion. There is a lot of magic but it has a cool E.T style story surrounding it. Other than the fast talking he was amazing if your in Vegas see David Copperfield
It’s unfortunately worth only 3 stars and those stars come solely from the magic. The rest of the show is questionable. He either mumbles or it’s the audio but you can only understand half of it. The story he tells about his little dinosaur and dad seems to be out of place. Overall, he talks way too fast and you can tell that he’s done this too often. There was zero rapport established between him and the audience and it felt very distant and his jokes weren’t funny either. All of this doesn’t make it a super great show to be honest. I saw in the very front literally next to the stage but wouldn’t recommend it. It’s cheaper further back and also you are just way too close unfortunately. The table and the seat is tiny and this nonstop don’t take videos annoying at best. The magic is wow in my opinion and you can tell he is one of the best ones out there! If you come for mind boggling magic, awesome! If you come for an entertaining show, don’t come!
The show was amazing. However, I wasn’t able to fully enjoy it because a guy whos like 250 pounds fell as he tripped from walking down the steps behind me in the dark, and fell onto me in the middle of the show. My back was hurting a lot but I waited until the end and talked to someone in charge, hoping to get some help. But instead, the manager without any empathy asked me to stand outside, wait for the security to file a report while I was in pain. This is just absurd!
Lots of talking during the show. I felt like I was at a stand up comedy instead of a magic show. He repeated the same major illusion four times but with different objects — a bike, I car and dinosaur. Only cool thing was the flying UFO.
Would have been upset if I paid full price for the show personally. 3 shows a day and I attended the 930pm show and he already seems “tired”. Lots of racist/sexual joke content + jokes clowning the crowd not enough magic since the main bit is suppose to be heartfelt about this father it was confusing. not family friendly at that time of night. If you are non English speaking, prepared to be made fun of as part of the skit. No phones allowed but at least the concessions are nice and there’s some allure to some of magic tricks . He talks very fast and a bit slurred so it was hard to understand him most of the show.Vegas local so I’ve seen plenty of shows and this one is definitely on a do not recommend list for me. Save your money and see the other performers in the mgm, those shows were great.
We saw this show on 5/1/2024. Purchased the VIP tickets which provided a front row seat, a meet and greet with David, an autographed photo and a trick. The show was good. Not exactly what we were expecting, but still good. Two or three illusions were done that are awe inspiring. The theater seats four people at the front row tables. There is barely enough room for two. If four people are there, it gets very tight and a little uncomfortable as the act includes places that are not on stage - so turning around to see them is tough. I think the best seats are the second or third row back from the stage. It was also a shame to see David actually reading script on stage. Everyone can use prompting from time to time but I would have preferred improve vs. reading script from small hand held cards. It detracts from the act.The VIP experience was ok. It is very organized and you are rushed. I honestly thought I spent more time with more important people then I did with David. That said, David was very personable and did talk with you if you engaged him. However, the handler keeps the line moving (mind you the line for us was two couples). The autographed photo is signed in front of you but zero personalization, simply his signature. He did one card trick for the group. The write up gave the impression you would get a trick individually (or at least as a family). If you like David, go see the show. If you really want a photo with him, sign up for the VIP/meet & greet experience. If you are just looking to see various shows in Vegas, Id put this one near the bottom.
Ohhhh David, how you made my childhood. I was torn on this review, but ultimately decided to try to be fair without letting nostalgia cloud it. Basically as an adult he doesn’t hold the same mystery as he did when I was a kid. “Random audience members” were clearly chosen ahead of time (I mean really, what 20 something woman picks “Brad Pitt” this day and age? Highly suspicious lol), The “alien” looked like a high quality yoda doll, we all know by now that when audience members “disappear” only to reappear somewhere else that they’ve gone down a tunnel under stage.. The storyline was very cheesy and I got 2nd hand embarrassment because you could tell David took it super seriously. In the end I think my kids would enjoy this, but as an adult there’s better shows to put your time/ money into. The show is pretty dated, he needs to revamp it/ make it more modern for sure. (Also pretty sure he’s a very big germaphobe. We paid extra to meet him and I actually had a friend ask if the pic was taken in the wax museum soooo.. ya don’t expect a warm and fuzzy meet and greet, he’s super stiff and barely looks at you.)
I wish Id had vetted this before I bought the tickets! I was so excited to see this show as Id heard so much about David Copperfield and how amazing the magic shows had been in the past. Emphasis on THE PAST. There were some cool tricks to begin with and then there was a long drawn out story about his father which was distracting and got a bit maudlin, a muppet that was an alien, an inflatable space ship and if only Id been under the age of 10 it would have been stellar. Its a shame I didnt get to see David in his prime because what I saw was not that great and not even worth the price that we paid. Should have known better when we were able to get front row tickets for $150 each. If youre no longer a child or teenager, you probably wont enjoy this show and will see through some of the tricks, audience plants, etc. But if your kids need to be entertained, this is the spot!
The illusions in Live the Impossible are breathtakingly spectacular. If you like magic, you must see David Copperfield at least once in your life. What I was most impressed with is I could almost touch one of the objects that magically appear out of nowhere. Thats how close and real it was...Im not going to say anything else as to not spoil it...go see it for yourself. You will be in awe.
We went on September 6th /2023/ to the 7pm show. We were in section 1, row 6D, seats 3 and 4 [the Golden Circle]. Its a booth. You put your phone in a black box on the table before the show starts. Its kind of nice not to have people on their phones during a show. Definitely recommend getting drinks and snacks prior to the show starting. There is no staff to serve you.You might share a seating area with strangers. Our booth had 8 seats in it. 4 separate couples, all of us strangers to each other. Honestly, though, my boyfriend and I showed up not too long prior to the show starting. So there wasnt a whole lot of talking going on between any of us.Fun show. Great for a date night. Our booth was interacted with during the show. David Copperfield was directly in front of us and also, at one point, directly behind us. I will say, I was expecting a little more magic. There was just a little more talking than I had expected.
The staff is amazing! Thanks for helping with the seats! The show is a bit old fashioned but its The Copperfield. With some extra belief it feels magical 🪄✨✨.
Really please don’t waste your money. We loved the show 7 years ago but it has dated terribly (and hasn’t changed) and David is merely going through the motion to get it over with. Could have left after 10 min but felt obliged to stay. Simply out of date in every way - save your hard earned cash
Best night ever! David put on a show that blew my mind! I was so caught up I almost missed the ball he threw at me! I was invited on stage and got to meet him after, the act was so cool and I got to keep the magic poster! Absolutely a must see!
Its absolutely incredible! Mind-blowingFinally, I got to see him in person. Hes a little dull but the illusions are the WOW factor.Loved it!Seats are very tight. We were on the 3rd row middle section. If you can get a booth, that would be more comfortable.
This was billed as a family friendly event and while Im sure its not as raunchy as many Vegas offerings, family friendly it definitely was not. Crude jokes about strippers, the last time you had intercourse, boxers vs briefs, and other similar comments, along with extensive profanity and impatience with audience members left us disillusioned with this master illusionist. While he had some tricks that did leave us asking how he did it, that hardly made up for the discomfort of the crassness of the performance. The very weird attempt at nostalgia and love with the alien and his parents was trite, at best, and it turned out later to be a lie since it was not really video of his parents, as he originally claimed. It felt like he was a mumbling old man who has long since grown tired of his own show and is just doing it for the paycheck.
Not worth the money. There are 2 acts which are great, one is the spaceship coming alive and another is the car. rest of the show is not go great. Too much talk , some of it cant be heard properly thanks to mumbling. Lots of planted people in audience and some of the stuff is just lame, like travelling back in time...some guy gets up and tries to go out in red cap and tshirt, david calls him out...sometime later he does the same thing to prove time travel ....How lame! If you still want to see, take the last row and ask for discount at the counter...they do give if you insist.
Watched David Copperfield show on TV as a kid. I was in awe with his tricks then and even now as an adult. Was a fantastic show with lost of tricks and story telling. The alien segment felt a big childish but overall enjoyed the full 90 mins. Would love to go back once he comes up with a different theme.
Not many tricks and illusions . 3 or 4 tricks during the show and the rest is story telling and guessing numbers; more like fortune teller. The show was about 65 minutes. He’s too old and been doing this show too long. He looked tired and low energy and tried to engage with audience with no luck. He has made his $870 million dollar ( per Wikipedia). Time to retire. I recommend you to go and see another show in Vegas. I went to this show with my 3 young kids thinking there will be some magic. Disappointed.
Update: It’s beyond disgusting that David Copperfield has been named, and listed as 1 of the people who visited Epstein’s Island. Zero Stars!!!!Original Review:I thought Mr. Copperfields performance was okay, definitely not great. I am also not sure Id see it again at his prices, they would have to be drastically lower. I will also mention I am a US veteran, so I tend to get a discount. Take that however you want. For this show I sat in the front row and I mean first row; I quickly realized that was a mistake and it was a bit hard to see the show because I was so close. I would also say it was quite a bit hard to hear what Mr. Copperfield was talking about at times. A lot of the show is talking. I would highly recommend you save yourself some money and sit a bit further back, ideally in the middle. Mr Copperfield also appeared to work a bit with the crowd for some of his tricks, while I am not sure if that was staged or not, please be more prepared than the people in our audience. I would also suggest that Mr. Copperfield try and pick ppl who he thinks might speak English, as it did get a little embarrassing the way he spoke to some of the foreign travelers at the show.My biggest likes & complaint is I wish I saw more illusions or magic tricks. As the ones we saw were pretty spectacular. In a 1 hour show you will see maybe 4-5 trick or illusions at best. While they are pretty big tricks, and I won’t ruin them for you. I personally just wasn’t a big fan of the storyline. While I can appreciate family, I really felt your story was boring. I am not sure if it’s because you’re getting up there in age, it was the second show of the day or you’ve been performing now over half your life…? I just expected a higher energy show with some laughs and a lot fun. Instead I felt like we sat in the dark and listened to a sob story that had a positive meaning, but I felt it was poorly acted out and performed.
Absolutely horrible show and a waste of money. With so many shows in Las Vegas to choose, this is the worst one. It shouldnt be called a magic show because there is no magic. I wouldnt even bring my 8 or 12 year old to the show, unless I wanted to punish them. If you want to be amazed by close up magic go see Shoot Ogawa. I cant believe David Copperfield has been in Las Vegas for as long as he has. He lacked personality, jokes, and a cohesive story. Hands down the worst money I have spent in Las Vegas, I would have been better off burning my money or giving it away.
The big illusions were pretty incredible, the long drawn out alien routine was, well… stupid and his tricks in between were not very entertaining. All in all I’m glad we went just to get it out of our system.
I’m sorry David, I’ve idolized you since I was a child and I always dreamed of seeing you live. I wish I could have done it 10 years ago when folks are saying your show was worth it. I am sorry to say, this was the worst show I’ve ever seen. I felt so cheated and like my illusion of you has completely shattered. What everyone is saying in the bad reviews is true. What people are saying in the high reviews is not. His heart is not in it, he mumbles his words, rushes through the show (ended early), there is absolutely no magic, and the three or four illusions only happened with the turning on and off of lights.I have to be honest. I didn’t see the car illusion coming but the others were all the same and you could see how they were being done. I could have gone through life never seeing that show and I wish I would have. The people that participate are actors. The email he sends at the end is a general email because the shows are always the same so the email could apply to any show. Unfortunately, he must have forgotten one of the tricks because our email said “don’t forget to wish the girl a happy birthday” and that was not part of the show.I think if you are drinking and are a little intoxicated you miss a lot of things and may believe this is a good show. My husband and I were sober which made this an even worse experience, because every trick was so badly executed, you could see where everything was coming from. I just can’t say anything good about this show. It was cringy, jokes were bad, he rushed people and was rude, it wasn’t funny, the story line was incredibly lame and weird, and his helpers dressing up like the public to not “stand out” was super weird and made us uncomfortable. They stand with the audience and start clapping very loud with big smiles to try and convince others to do the same. David asked for a standing ovation 10 mins into the show.Just very bizarre. Save your money. Sitting at a slot machine and losing it, is a better use of that money that wasting it in this show.
There is a reason that reviews for this show are divided between love and hate. It’s because it’s both. We loved the illusions (truly amazing) but hated Copperfield’s canned and rote presentation. The guy is a genius but his delivery is FLAT and lifeless. It’s distracting in its monotone lack of anything resembling showmanship. So we walked away conflicted between being impressed with the illusions and baffled at why a guy worth nearly a billion dollars would do something he clearly is massively sick of doing. Your decision if you want to spend your money. Be prepared for an older theater and cramped seating too. I give it 3 stars to reflect the average between a 1 and 5 score. They both apply.
100% worth it!! Great experience from the best in magic. Seeing his show in person has given a complete understanding why he is considered the best that has ever done stage performances. Tremendous fun.
Went to his show on June 5, 7pm. Very mixed opinions about this one. His story is very inspiring and he seems like a talented individual. However, this show lacks authenticity and professional execution. I say this because of one big flaw from tonight. One of his first scenes is to pick members of the audience for a trick by “random”. He throws a frisbee, and who ever catches it gets to answer a few questions (responses are recorded for the trick) to be revealed later as “david predicted.” I CAUGHT THE FIRST FRISBEE and david asked me to hand it to the man behind me!!!! If it was truly random selection then he would have asked me the questions right? I understand the concept of magic, however I thought for a world-famous magician, I feel like he should have thrown that frisbee better or come up with another way to pick those people. Otherwise the show was cool and some fun tricks. I feel like my experience would be different if I didnt catch the first frisbee..
The magic tricks were amazing, but you can tell he’s been doing this for a long time. He has the script so rehearsed that he ends up speaking so fast and slurring all of his words, to the point where you can barely understand him throughout the whole show. He just doesn’t seem to care that much anymore. The spaceship appearing out of nowhere was pretty amazing though. Still have no idea how that’s done.
Very disappointed. Completely bizarre show about Copperfield’s deceased parents and an alien. He was obsessed about no phones being out from the audience, which I get. But he claimed to have this bizarre prediction sent to your phone prior to the show starting. So he asked you to send him an email. Which most of the audience did then he asked us to put our phone in a box until the end of the show. Once the show was over he would reveal a special trick personalized to you. Well the trick never happened, I never received an email from him and neither did anyone in our 8 person party. I suspect he tricked everyone to giving their email for spam and insure no phones were used during the show. Last he has done this show so many times, that his was like a speed reader, reading the audience from a speech. He spoke so fast that I could not understand half of what he was saying. I can’t imagine anyone in the audience with English as a second language understanding any of it. Sadly his time has passed.
Honestly, it sucked. The guy only wanted applause for himself and told a horrific story while doing like 4 illusions which granted were cool but not worth time or money. Not recommend at all unfortunately.
What a desaster!!!! The show is the worst I have ever seen - I have seen magicians at private birthday parties which have been way better than this old confused man.Throwing $100 out of the window is more fun than visiting this „show“
We attended the David Copperfield show on July 24th, and it was a wonderful experience for our family. Our seven-year-old son was particularly mesmerized by the magic. However, one annoying aspect of the show was the man who constantly paced back and forth in front of us, checking to see if anyone was using their cell phone or filming the show. Despite following the no cell phone policy, his constant presence was irritating and distracting. It was also quite expensive to attend the show. We suggest that individuals monitoring the audience’s behavior during the show stand on the side or in the back to avoid obstructing the view for others. Although the show was enjoyable, we are unsure if we would attend again. Note to David Copperfield, youre awesome. Thank you.
Although you don’t expect much to be family friendly in Vegas, this show is advertised as family friendly. We took our family with young children and were severely disappointed in crude humor, innuendo and very strong language. The theme of the show and the illusions were excellent but ruined for us by the interjection of his sexual references and adult language. The show would have been top notch without that. Totally unnecessary and wouldn’t recommend for children or families regardless of how it’s promoted to be for everyone.
Do not see this show. Spend your money on literally anything else.I’ll start with the good: the first time he makes something appear, it’s pretty cool. That’s the only good part. There’s a lot of bad:He’s really not into it and just mumbles throughout the show. He talks A LOT and I probably understood 25% of what he said.He begs for applause and standing ovations, and even has his employees stand behind you and clap loudly to get people to give a standing ovation. Seriously. The story he came up with for this show must have been written by a third grader. “My dad worked at Roswell and sent me this alien furby from the past so we could remedy our relationship after he died”. He then proceeds to talk to said animatronic alien furby for an hour. Because you can hardly understand him and the story wasn’t really thought out, there’s a lot of it that makes 0 sense. The humor is for 13 year old boys. Fart jokes, dumb sex references, it was embarrassing to hear some dude in his 70s say some of this stuff.Oh yeah, the magic sucked. The first trick was cool, then he did that same trick 5 times with different items for the rest of the show. All the magic was this same trick in different ways.My wife and I were up close, and could see how the trick worked. He does a digital “trick” where he sends an email to the audience with details about the show before the show even starts. You’re supposed to open it after the show. The email had some details of our show completely wrong and there was one detail that didn’t even happen in our show.I’ve never seen something so lazy in my life. Seriously, don’t go see this show.
Don’t waste money on this show, we paid 600$ for front row and it was so corny and mostly he mumbles doesn’t even do much magic. Such an odd uncomfortable story about his dad. Not sure how this has any 4 or 5s it was terrible.
Horrible show and boring save your money and go watch a real magic show. all tricks that has been seen over 1 million times by other magicians. David Looks very bored And cheesy dialogue With his crew and friends in the audience to make his show spectacular which it’s not. I can’t understand why he still at the MGM Grand. Any positive reviews are definitely fake. The biggest trick that he did was make your hard money disappear! DO NOT SEE THIS SHOW IT IS STUPID BORING CHEESY PATHETIC. ONLY AN IDIOT WILL GIVE FIVE STARS PROBABLY DAVID HIMSELF. He’s not the magician you remembered him growing up he didn’t do Nothing spectacular no awesome illusion tricks and every other minute I yawned.
Shame on me for not reading other reviews. I remember some of his illusions from when I was a kid and thought my kids would get the same feeling of excitement and wonder. It was terrible and really no magic, and to have a story line of childhood dreams and fulfilling them is absurd because he looked and sounded miserable. The secretemail came an hour late. Honestly he either had recent facial work or was drunk/ on something you could only understand half his words of what he said. No disrespect because he had a great career. But this show is on life support and needs/should be cancelled. I wish there was a way to get our money back and give it to someone who actually cares about what they do. My kids 10yr 12yr are less interested in magic after watching this show. It is truly shameful.
Sad that he asks for a standing ovation, half way thru his show, weird timing no less. He literally tricks people into doing it. He has his employees stand up on wooden blocks and clap for him. Thats called pandering and its pathetic. We all looked at each other like he was going to quit for the night if we didnt. I prefer to stay seated for an entire show, for the money I pay should be deemed way more than sufficient. Anyhow, I have seen his show twice and some stories just didnt add up, like the volunteer whos sister died? Well, why does he look like a similat brother with the same story from when I went 7 years ago? Plus, pictures/video are not allowed. Exact same tired, unbelievable story. Oh, and why is he still paying homage to Oprah after YouTube has exposed her for the disgusting demon that she is?!?
Show was horrible, planted people everywhere. Stunts were easily explained. One person was supposed to disappear but I saw them running away under a black blanket. There was a bunch of theatrics in the form of a cheesy story that lacked magic tricks, seemed like a way to kill time. I think overall there were two tricks that looked okay but the rest were photoshop and an insult to the intelligence of the audience. I wish I had my money back and didnt waste my time on this show.
David must retire. This show is terrible. He seems like a nice man, but he even looks bored himself and wants to get it over with. The show is full of uncessary fluff to fill the voids. I fell asleep for a few minutes. I wanted it to be over. Do not waste your money.
Booked at the last minute and wasnt sure what to expect. When David first came on and was making some small-talk I didnt completely follow I was getting nervous but I have to say, by the end, it had completely won me over.Yes, the style and presentation is a bit cheesy but I actually liked that - a sort of throwback to watching TV magic shows in my childhood. And even though I might have sighed whenever the big curtain went up again, I was always astonished by what was revealed.I kind of get what some of the negative reviewers are saying about the magic itself but I think you have to appreciate the difference between a magician and an illusionist. This is more dramatic and theatrical. I liked the overarching story David had put together and felt some genuine emotion as it reached the finale. Considering he cranks out three of these shows a day, Im impressed by his endurance and showmanship. It was a nice way to spend a few hours in Vegas with my wife and 7 year old daughter, giving us something we can look back on for years to come. Thanks David.
Dont waste your money on seeing Las Vegas David Copperfield at MGM. It is past the point of retirement.Went to see this show yesterday - David speed talks / mumbles through the setup of each trick to the point that it seems like absolute chaos. The tricks are: he appears on a motor cycle, makes a car, alien doll, UFO and robot dinosaur appear, makes a guy and the alien doll disappear, foretells a string of numbers and does the future-telling poster in a locked box trick.Spends half the show talking about his deceased dad, all in a set up to make a UFO appear. Legitimately half the show is the set up for this one trick where a time travelling alien knew his dad at Roswell and is here to teach the world about love? Its like watching the live action show ride at Universal Studios Hollywood without your seat moving (in the past it was The Terminator ride and is now the Shrek ride.) If you want to watch David go through the motions on autopilot while talking to an animatronic alien doll, this is the show for you.Show would only be truly enjoyable for very small children despite the out-of-place cussing and innuendos.Show includes pre-recorded audience sounds and clapping throughout. David also directs people to give him a standing ovation.Ive seen nearly 100 shows in Las Vegas and if you want to see magic, @matfranco, @piffthemagicdragon and @pennandtellerlive are much more enjoyable. (I havent seen Shin Lim yet.)Either retool this show or hang it up and enjoy your swimming pool of money, David!Visited: March 2023
Extremely annoying to have security walking around the whole time displaying no cell phones. Security also kicked a guy out for acting a little excited. David probably doesnt want any recording of his act because based off little research he has not done any new acts in many years! This place is so strict on no cell phone use they make you put your phone in a box. If they think you have taken a picture security will surround you until you delete the picture or prove you have not taken one. Hate to break it to David but cell phone use and pictures are very normal in the year of 2024. David is just a rich phony who doesnt know how to create new acts in his shows. I do understand that Vegas shows are strict when it comes to no cell phone use but the Davids show goes over the top with strictness.
My husband and I had the most magical experience at the 9:30pm show Sunday, April 14! Long ago, when I was in college, I modeled for Model Talent Management in Memphis. My agent told me that David Copperfield was coming to Tunica and that I was selected to be an assistant for his show June 2, 1999. Unfortunately, I told her I couldnt do it because it was my little sisters 5th birthday and I had already booked a flight to Kansas City to go to her party. My agent told me I would always regret missing out on this opportunity, but I told her I would never regret putting family over modeling! Now, 25 years later, my sister does not remember me being at her 5th birthday party and in all this time, if anyone ever asked me if I had regrets in life, I would always say, I had a chance to assist David Copperfield when I was a model and I declined it. My agent said Id always regret it and I always have! Well, last weekend, my husband had heard this story enough that he booked us a trip to Vegas to see David Copperfield. I told several friends before we left Memphis how incredible it would be if I got chosen out of the audience to help at the show. Imagine the rush when both my husband and I were tapped on the shoulder and ushered on stage to be part of a levitating, disappearing, reappearing illusion! Even more incredible was the story of the man who disappeared and reappeared, who was there fulfilling his lifelong wish to be a part of an illusion with David Copperfield! Another very personal, magical part of the show was the recurring theme of balancing the love of your family with following your dreams. I really thought, the whole time we were on stage, that my husband had set this up for me, but he swears he didnt. It was just magic! Also very exciting to get to rub elbows with David Copperfield himself on the way back to our seats! Thank you for the great show. I will always remember how very personal and magical it was for me.
The show was so bad it was almost funny. After the fake audience work and the puppet monologue we left in the first 30 minutes.
Cheapest show in Las Vegas. Pretending to be some comedy instead of be a pure illusion show. David C. is definitely is not a real Copperfield that you used to enjoy a years ago. Absolutely not worth the 100th bucks. Really caused to vomit
Mumbles and delivers the whole show monotone. Im sure he is extremely talented (and rich) but please do yourself a favor and DONT go to this one. Maybe watch him on a Netflix show or something.
Long time a fan of David Copperfield here since my childhood as I watched him in the TV specials and a live show during his world tour some thirty years ago.I knew that after a long time at his age his magic tricks would be the same or similar to what I saw, but I wanted to introduce him to my wife who was really impressed with the show and his magic, especially the best parts. The reason why I put four stars is the location to watch him. We chose the seats in the first line that did not let us appreciate the show well. If you want to see him closely choose the second or third row if you dont want to watch his feet. Now, as I read some reviews. Even if he is a celebrity, I think if he wants to keep going in his career or retire, is his choice. If you dont want to see him, simply dont go.
Wow. I feel completely misled by the reviews. Just watched his show here in Vegas and all four of us left feeling just icky. We got front row seats (1B) with a table in front of us and were SO excited for this show, expected there to be servers to bring drinks to the table and just have a great time. First, the room felt like we were on an old cruise ship. No service at all, if you wanted something you had to go back out and to the snack bar and wait in line. So lame. And then the show, omg. That poor man cannot possibly want to be doing this show any less. Could just barely croak out his lines. Lackluster, tiresome and sad. To be honest it felt like a rather hostile environment . He seemed angry and impatient with the people he would call on to participate (at least the ones that weren’t obvious plants) and his security that are watching for people to have their phones out need to calm down. Trust me, no one cares to record any of that pathetic show. The story line for 75% of the show was so odd, it’s like he found a prop he wanted to use and they made up a story to make the prop make sense. Either that or him talking about his dad which honestly made it seem like he really needs a therapist. We could not believe it when the show was over and that was all there was. Show was over 20 minutes earlier than stated. Not surprising with how rushed he was, and we were glad to be released. I was so angry we spent $700 to have to sit through that because people are so loyal to this guy that they lie on the reviews. I promise you, you will not want to see this, at least not now. There are SO many incredible shows in Vegas and they all manage to make it incredible even though they do it multiple times a day. Pick literally any of the other ones. Ugh.
Good show BUT it was very hard to hear David Copperfield at many times because he was mumbling or talking too fast or the music was too loud. I probably missed 50% of what he said and that did not make the experience too good for me. Also I did not get the email he was supposed to have sent at the start of the show. However, the story he told was very touching and I even cried a little.
Over the top about their cell phone prohibition. Really colored the overall vibe of the actual show and not in a good way. The show itself was ok. Not fabulous. Mr Copperfield has obviously said all those lines a few too many times as he seemed a bit wooden and rushed.
Absolutely LOVED IT!! I finally got to see David Copperfield!! I nvr thought Id get to see him live. It was a dream come true and it was even better than I expected. He did a trick right in front of me, it was mind blowingly awesome! I couldnt believe it! Hes funny too. He cracked some jokes, told stories, super friendly, smiled a lot & laughed with us. Hes the greatest illusionist EVER and yet, hes so humble. Worth every bit of what I paid and so much more. Its a must-do in Las Vegas!
This was so corny and not a real magic show. Don’t waste your money. It was very weird, over dramatized and with staged “randomly selected” crowd members. If you have kids they would probably like it but it’s not for adults lol
This show was the worst show I’ve ever paid to see. You will feel dumber after the show. It’s that bad.. Some sort of weird alien stuffed animal. Very scripted. Would NOT recommend.
The show was fine and there were some entertaining tricks. David has a good stage presence and banter with audience members. The show felt a bit more gimmicky than our group would have liked, would have preferred more magic less special effects
Unfortunately, my wife and I simply did not enjoy this show. Surprisingly disappointing! Too simplistic and far from having anything that wowed us. Honestly, it was boring. Was also very difficult to understand him. He talks softly with loud background music. This was very frustrating within itself. A number of tricks were done on the floor up front with the audience where folks not near it had to watch on the TV screen. Sorry, but not worth the money. As many have said, he is past his retirement.
Don’t waste your time and money on this show. Boring, rude, sexist jokes that aren’t funny, “magic” that’s absolutely boring and his lack of interest in what he’s doing. Definitely one of the worst shows that I’ve seen in Vegas so far.
Most sub par show we saw in Vegas. Absolutely agree with the review that said they felt like you can tell he has been doing this 3 times a week for years. His heart just wasn’t in it. The tricks that he performed were great but it felt like he only really did 5. He spent a lot of the show talking about himself, doing a monologue and then trying to tie magic into it. The last trick he did didn’t work for our group. If you are on a budget maybe save the money and see a different show.
Save your money! There might have been one semi interesting illusion. The rest of the show was cheesy, poor acting and seemed like it was going through the motions. A total waste of money other than my husband and me laughing at how ridiculous it was.
I was kinda disappointed. A lot of talking with little magic. The story with the alien was cheezy. Most tricks seemed pretty average. I was amazed at how a big spaceship was flying around us but thats more like a technology thing, it appeared after lights were turned off though. If you turn off the lights, then something appears, its not impressive. This audience guy was holding this note the whole show with a big ribbon around him, but at the end of the show, David just said the note had all the details of the show written on it, but they didnt show us the letter and it was taken off stage quickly. I had no idea in the purpose of that trick even. Maybe kids would like it better. Id recommend Penn and teller.
This show was definitely not what I expected. The theater venue was alot smaller than I expected. The show Itself was alittle random and at times I could hardly understand what David was saying. He had a little microphone on his shirt but if there was music playing in the background, i couldnt hear him at all. He also talked fast so it was hard to follow. This show doesnt have any of your typical magic show tricks like youd expect: like cutting a lady in half or escaping from a chained up straight jacket. However, the show did redeem itself by having a few big surprises that really made our eyes go wide. Overall, Id give it 3 stars. I didnt leave there saying that was absolutely incredible!. It was just okay.
Unfortunately this show was a disappointment. The tricks were all similar. The story part was too long. He needs to retire. Only very drunk people were laughing. I do not recommend it to anyone.
Interesting how you imagined David Copperfield ... Watching him on TV and then in real life are completely different experiences. Hes definitely skilled in his magic and mastery of illusions. I was wowed... But something about the theme of the show and his ego did not sit right with me. Such a production... Wish it was more genuine and authentic.
This show was stunning and by far the best magic show Ive ever seen. David was very funny and I was engaged by every thrill he put on display (there were a lot of them). The cherry on top is that I got to be a part of the show and David made a car appear out of thin air right above my head. I heard the audience cheering before I even realized what had happened. That is true magic.
I grew up watching David Copperfield specials, and this show was a huge letdown. It felt like he was just going through the motions. I wasnt expecting blinding lights facing the audience during a magic trick. Save your time and money.
This was without question one of the worst experiences of my life. It was like watching a five-year-old do magic by turning out the lights and having the dog disappear.Piped in crowd noise to make you think people are impressed with boring tricks .He had one and only one impressive trick… the rest was ridiculous. If you read these 1* reviews in here and still buy tickets you have no one to blame but yourself.
Great show as always. This is my 5th David Copperfield show and my second Blu show. I brought my mom for her birthday since she grew up watching him and she was very impressed. The reason for my rating is because David’s voice was not being projected properly and we couldn’t articulate what was happening.Reason number 2 is the political references that were subtle but very much understood by everyone. I honestly believe that as a showman, just keep doing what you do best and stay away from politics (at least during your show)
The theater has amazing views everywhere. The show was amazing. Although I wasnt a fan of the random audience participation but overall it was an unbelievable experience and the set design was spectacularI got these tickets it was on my boyfriends bucket list. It was worth it to see him smile like a little kid throughout the show. SO thankful for the opportunity to see David copperfield
First time watching the show. Definitely entertaining and everything is planned so perfectly, it’s crazy. But it is an extremely cheesy show. He does use audience members for his acts a lot, which sometimes feels planned ahead of time. It was the first time I saw any of his shows, but definitely worth seeing at least once. Also, their frozen drinks are crazy high with alcohol, so worth the price.
The Mrs was practically ready to throw her underwear at David to go to his show and we were seated right at the front. The show was spectacular from start to finish even the odd cheesy moment (alien) was well executed and as magic is meant to do it was surprising and wondrous.Having seen Penn and Teller the week before both acts showed excellent performances.
Great show! David never fails to impress with his ever evolving show! It was a good mix of story, magic, illusion, humor, and drama all presented with the flair Copperfield is known for. Definitely gets my vote for top magician! I watched him as a kid growing up and now got to see him live and Im happy to say I was not disappointed! I actually welled up with tears in the show but they were happy tears. Definite must see while in Vegas!
Copperfield leaves you not asking “how did he do that?” But rather “why did he bother doing that?” Agree with the other review entirely.. it’s time to hang it up. And yes, the sound system is terrible. Didn’t catch half of what he mumbled. Back turned away from audience so no chance of lip reading. We were left thinking that at $150/ticket he is most definitely phoning it in. Not worth it. We wish we had chosen differently in our short time here!
The worst show I’ve ever seen. A total waste of money, and a scam in my eyes. Copperfield used a fake alien and it was a complete mess of a show. I’m so disappointed and upset with the money that was spent on the worst show I’ve ever seen.
David Copperfield definitely earned the title King of Magic and we were grateful to be able to see him while he is still performing. The first celebrity magician I ever saw as a child with his feats of magic and illusions becoming legendary and nostalgic - from going through the Great Wall of China to disappearing the Statue of Liberty. As we were in the front row, seeing him literally up close and personal as he performed his stage magic was incredibly exciting and memorable. A 10/10 once-in-a-lifetime experience and an absolutely huge recommendation when visiting Las Vegas.
I want a refund on the tickets, this was one of themost disappointing, boring and the worst shows Ive ever been to. All of us almost fell asleep. His tricks were barely illusions. The most impressive part of his show was how his assistants perfectly timed turning off the lights right before the big reveal. No major trick happened without the aide of all the lights turning off.The show and story was so boring that, David himself seemed extremely bored and tired of his own shows. He spent most of the show mumbling through words about his childhood story, we couldnt understand half the things he was saying. Half his show revolved around him talking to an alien animatronic puppet, its was drawn out and boring. The finale with the dinosaur was even more underwhelming. He and his production had to force the crowd to engage. At the start of the show literally asking everyone to stand up and clap, as a result asking for a standing ovation. During the show his production assistants at the back were forcing loud claps which triggered the audience at the front to begin clapping. Sad!Finally his theater bar popcorn was cold. If youre putting on a boring show atleast have hot popcorn!Would highly recommend he retire and shut this production down, his heart is clearly not in it and a better show could be in the theater. A legend you say? Maybe a couple of decades past his prime, but I saw no legend.
Unfortunately I’m adding my voice to the dozens of others that I read *after* watching the show. Please go and read their detailed reviews and look at the time stamps before continuing on. This is not one bad performance; it’s been this way for at least 4 years. I was actually so excited to see him in person; that’s what makes writing this so hard.Don’t make my mistake. If you are reading this, please don’t buy a ticket. If someone gives you a ticket for free, you may want to give it back. There are multiple common threads in the honest (and heartbreaking) critical reviews. I have no idea how this show is rated so highly, except for the deep bank account of trust that David has built over his long career. In my opinion, David needs to retire to salvage his legacy. The storyline was contrived, the story telling poorly executed. It was unexpectedly vulgar with young children in the audience. I would have been aghast if my kids were with me. Being coerced to give a fake dinosaur a standing ovation shocked me. Having David spend time talking to a puppet made no sense. There was no energy or excitement from him. The staff seemed excited to be working with him, but the fact that one of them was wearing an Apple Watch during the show struck me as unprofessional. I went in with high regard for him, and left sorely disappointed.P.S. I took a picture of his statue outside the theater. Looking at it now, it’s funny that the only letters in “Box Office” you see are the letters BOO. I didn’t boo during the performance out of respect, but I left feeling that way.
We went on valentines day to see David Copperfield and we were not disappointed. The show was amazing and Im still in awe over the skill set of tricks he performed. I would definitely recommend seeing him.
Worst show in Vegas so far. Totally boring and without passion. Nothing magical. Could have done so much better things with my money and time. So sad :( don’t do it. Sorry.
My feelings about this performance are quite complex. Ive watched Davids performances on TV since I was a child—his handsome and dashing appearance, his free-flying in the air, crossing the Great Wall, making the Statue of Liberty disappear—his magical skills made him seem like a mystical being with extraordinary abilities. Attending his show this time was fulfilling a long-time wish. However, I was somewhat disappointed, not with him personally, but with the magic itself. Half of the time was spent talking, creating a peculiar atmosphere. The magic tricks were simplistic, with easily guessable performance techniques, lacking genuine amazement. Among the audience were actors intentionally placed by him, easily noticeable. For instance, he deliberately threw a small ball at a specific female audience member; I picked up the ball, and he politely hinted to give it to the lady in a silver dress behind. Guess Who wears a tight silver skirt in freezing Las Vegas to watch a show? If, like me, you want to see the real David perform at least once, its worth attending. However, if youre seeking the genuine astonishment of magic itself, its not necessary to watch.
This is the best show! When I was a kid, I used to watch David Copperfield on TV and always imagined what it would be to sit in the live crowd - this was better than I imagined! He is sooooooo interactive! Great stories! Hes funny. Hes just amazing! This is what magic is and this is what I grew up with - except its better! Spend the money! Totally worth it! We paid for the cheaper seats and yet, felt like they were better than in front of the stage. No pictures or video and when you go, you understand. Just go!
Мы были всей семьёй! Это было неимоверно! Чувствуешь себя настоящим участником этого шоу! Ну и Давид был на высоте!!! Хорошо держит публику!)(Translated by Google)We were the whole family! It was incredible! You feel like a real participant in this show! Well, David was at his best!!! Holds the crowd well!)
Our family enjoyed the show tremendously. I heard of David Copperfield like most millennials did, but definitely never bother to checkout his stuff. We went in with very low expectations. We only went as our daughter wanted to see a magic show. Off we go!The venue itself is a bit small and the seating were okay.We sat in row F and table 10 (mid price). We were told to send an email to the email address provided on the screen, and we did. We were then told to lock away my phone - I kind of rolled my eyes at that point as I was a bit annoyed of the lack of trust for his audience, but okay - we complied. It started off with him telling his story and his passion - which was good as I know nothing about him. I didn’t mind the background story. I felt it helped me to understand him a bit better. I did see some reviews complaining about his “story setting”.I had quite a few wow moments! I wasn’t expecting to see him up close and some of the tricks were performed at the row in front of us. He even handed my daughter a balloon (he used in one of his tricks). My daughter was so thrilled. Obviously she kept it! HahaI can’t tell you the storyline or tricks he showed as I do encourage you to see him. Some people said he should retired… I felt he wants to continue as he’s so passionate about it. Give him a break and credits he deserves. He’s in his 60s! I think he’s amazing! He said he’ll do something new February 2024 - making the moon disappear, I’m longing to see it!Sorry, no photos to share - remember, my phone was locked away! Haha.
My husband & I have always enjoyed magic growing up. We remembered David Copperfield as he started his way up. We were so thrilled to see him at MGM GRAND this visit to Las VegasWhat a fantastic show for both the young and elderly. With thought of growing up and becoming what you believe in is a lesson for all. Cant tell you about it. Copperfield involves the audience with his magic, with telling a story along the way. What a great ending for us all.
Thank you for the great show! We really enjoyed watching your magic show. Lots of audience participation. Seats were excellent and could see everything. No pictures or video are allowed. Had a great story line to the show. Glad we got to see it.
Вот прям плохо!(Translated by Google)What can I tell you, Gentlemen... I didn’t like it! I think that the money was wasted... one plus is that it is convenient and comfortable... you sit comfortably, there is a personal table at each seat, everything that happens is broadcast on huge screens... thats probably all. Kindergarten show/pants with straps... our Safronov brothers, compared to this show, are simply Gods)) I would say that any of our unknown magicians are better! I will explain: there were no tricks as such...then the lights will be turned off, for example, and in the darkness something will disappear or appear! I can do that too!))) Or, on the contrary, they will turn on the light and point it at the audience, which will blind you.... a lot of fantasies on the topic, I would say... as a showman he is not bad... he joked, supported the viewer... but Thats all... no real wow at all!!! Thats really bad!
We were pretty disappointed with the show overall. Found the audio to be often distorted and WAY too loud, we both covered our ears a couple of times. Copperfields voice was drowned out by the music often, so I lost track of the story at times. Couple of the illusions were good, but it just seemed too contrived and overly rehearsed.
Not sure what to say. It was so bad and I am glad that my kids had fun watching the (super short 75 mins) show. He spoke fast, the tricks were so lame and it was unbelievably boring. Don’t waste your money and time on this show. it’s definitely not what you are expecting and seems to be like for children.
Magician and Master illusionist David Cooperfield has been mesmerizing audiences for the past 40 years, and has been headlining at the David Cooperfield theater at the MGM Grand for the past several years. Without question, he has cemented his place as one of Las Vegas’ most iconic and exciting entertainers. And tonight, I was able to witness it first hand. The visual affects and audience participation coupled with his stage presence resulted in a well orchestrated and entertaining show. The theater is designed affording all audience members an unobstructed view of the stage. Although, David Cooperfield has turned to a more conservative form of dress wearing black pants and a denim shirt, as opposed to his traditional all black attire, he hasn’t lost his passion for his craft. So, if you’re in the mood for a little magic, I’d recommend you set aside time to see one of his shows.
Went to David Copperfields show in Vegas in mid-January. It was painful. Just not very good. The magic was poor, there was very little of it and he brought up an alien/stuffed animal onto the stage that was absurd. The storyline just wasnt great and the magic was weak at best. I was really letdown. If you go, youre paying for the name not the show. Its overpriced, too. Vegas has a huge list of options for shows to attend. Dont waste youre money on this. It would be better spent at a slot machine. At least you have a chance of getting something back there.
David Copperfield is my Idol since i was young. I love to see his performance but only on TV. This time I have a chance to see him in real person and I am so excited about it. He always appears in front of me so close (i pick row 7) and i can closely see his magic........It is super cool!yes, some people find it so old fashion way, too much talking but for me I enjoy every moment. I love it even other people find it simple, stupid or old way........it is worth to pay the ticket to see him
A childhood dream come true! This show was SO MUCH FUN, I wished it didnt have to end. David is just as magical and mysterious as I remember as a child, watching him on tv. And, he is so FUNNY! This show is for everyone of all ages. It was charming and intimate. Fun and, at times, very touching. His interaction with the crowd MADE the show! People from all over the world were there. It was amazing!FYI - Taking photos during the show is NOT ALLOWED!! They literally have people who will swoop in and make you delete any photos you took, and then they will escort you OUT! It happened to a couple that we shared our table with!
More of a cheesy story than magic. The show is very monotone, something he’s been doing everyday for decades. Wouldn’t recommend
Watch the greatest magician of all time work his magic live. I’ll never forget the wonder and excitement that I had watching David walk on stage. The man is the hardest working performer in Vegas and deserves respect. Thank you Maestro ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this show. David was professional, engaging and funny. I would see him again without hesitation.
Mesmerising and magical show - must watch if youre in Vegas! He really is one of the best magicians in the world!
The magic show was disappointing and not worth the money, as the tricks were basic, the performance was unengaging, and the overall experience did not meet expectations.
Overpriced show. Not very impressive. Would have rather spent the money on a concert or other performance like Cirque du Soleil.
The show was sappy and the bit about his father was way too long. He kept making the gesture to applaud more. We didn’t believe that the audience people who were picked were not prepared in advance. Chris Angel Mind Freak is far more entertaining.$300 wasted.
And just think, I didnt even want to go to this. Got upgraded to front table seats, asked to go onstage to be apart of the show, and had my mom and kid by my side.Great magic and his story about a loved one was so awesome and loveable. I love how elhe interacts with the crowd and gets the crowd going. Hes truly an amazing show and kid friendly.I really wish they would serve finger foods or whatever at these shows. That would definitely double her they bring in...but, I guess it keeps it cleaner w/o.Anyway, had a ball.Today was a good day!
I was little disappointed to say the least with the show; maybe I went with too high expectations but it seemed like his heart was not in the show and it looked very tired. He came across as a little arrogant as well. There were few cool tricks but others felt orchestrated. He makes you give him a standing ovation which felt very cheesy and forced to me. I get that he is getting older but we pay good money for the show so seeing a half hearted performance is not fair. It would be better if he gave a new magician a chance for a part of his show with new tricks and did few of his benchmark tricks.
Loved it. Dont want to spoil anything but had good story line and fantastic magics. You cant take any pictures or videos, they ask you to put phone away if its on the table or visible
I was chosen as the “first” and the “finale” audience guy. Everyone on the front row had to sign a posterboard before things started as part of his show. David had me stand up, called my name, ask if anyone had messed with the posterboard that his team had all of us on the front row sign before the show, etc. Well, after sitting there for over an hour with a ribbon around my neck attached to that waxed/sealed posterboard, he had me stand up at the end of the show to ask me what was the name of my childhood best friend. I responded. Not the name he was expecting. His face dropped, curtain call, show over! It was amazing. I somehow outsmarted the greatest illusionist of our era. The show was fun for my son, but i just keep laughing about how it ended. One of the ushers ran up to me at the end of the performance and grabbed my phone (which had been in a wooden box per their requirements) and chastised me for taking photos. Ummmm. Nope. Showed him my phone and the fact that there were no photos on it from his show. I’m not sure what happened between David, the MGM staff, etc., but it was an incredibly awkward end to his show last evening (02/03/2024.)
What did I just spend our $$ on ?? Ummm? No magic really ,horrible acting and storyline, bad jokes, had to share a table and it was really cramped..save yourself the $$ way better shows at cheaper prices ...
So what is he going to do next? Will he let a UFO land or what? Yes he will. 😳Incredible and Amazing show. Was sooo worth it to finally see him live. A legend that still got it to amaze me. If you are in Vegas, you definitely wanna see this, may be even twice. The theater is build with very good view on all places. Starting with row 8 you will be 3 feet close to the main action.
It was a great experience. But the section with the Alien Blu was a bit too over time and it would have better if there were more magic tricks & illusions being spreaded out time wise. It was overall very entertaining, enjoyable and funny. He involved the audience near the front but it not many at the back.
The David Copperfield show was great! Very entertaining and he kept everyone on their feet as he did the show. It was also nice how he interacted with everyone in the audience and made us feel like a part of the show. Lucky me I got to help him with one of the tricks, and also got his autograph and picture!
I had a terrible seat ..the staff or props were always in front of me … but dam that was a good friccin show….my jaws dropped a few times I was expecting some card tricks and disappearing acts…dam we got way more…I’d go again
My husband and I went to see this show as my husband has always been a huge fan of David Copperfield and was so excited to see him.Unfortunately this show is not worth the money at all and I would recommend against going to see it.In total David only performed 4 large tricks (all of which involved turning off all of the lights and then a large object appearing from nowhere) and one audience trick... ONE.All audience participation is chosen at random as David throws a frisbee into the audience and whoever catches it gets to pick a number/word/etc. A great deal of this consisted in David telling people to pass it back to the lady in red or to the man on the left in the glittery t-shirt etc. It really let the show down as it showed how all actors were used and the audience who paid to see the show werent involved at all. When real audience members accidentally caught the frisbee you could see their disappointment when David told them to pass it onto someone else. Clearly the actors in the stage who knew what numbers to say.We took to our seats and were sharing a table with another couple across from us. 20 minutes before the show someone from backstage approached them and asked them to be involved in the show. They were told to take all of their drinks and move to the front row. 25 minutes later as David appeared on stage the were seen in the spotlight being shown to their seats. This allowed for David to make a joke about late people, really cheesy and from the start. At the start of the show we were told to send an email to David and we wouls get an email back that we werent allowed to open until the end as it contained all the predicted answers from the show. Unless you are from the US or have data roaming you cant do this so most people didnt (no WiFi in theatre). I later heard that the people who did, didnt even receive anything. The form of the show consisted of a storyline about Davids dead father which was funny at times but mostly sad. I found it inappropriate to base the show on a dead family member. Obviously a fake story and such a great magician shouldnt need to get fake sympathy to draw people in. Noone came to the show for a sad story and I dont understand why he did that. Its also really easy to see how the tricks are done. I wont go into detail so not to spoil it for anyone who still wants to go. But all of the camera crew are actors and play a large part.I would also like to mention that the drinks were extremely expensive. My large frozen margarita was $25 and my husband ordered the $9 house wine which was served in a can.The show overall was desperate, lazy and boring. I dont post often but I think a lot of the positive reviews are fake and thats not fair to people spending hard earned money on this.
I watched this last night and I’m still trying to figure out why this show is as popular as it seems. It was absolute chaos from beginning to end. The whole thing was rushed, David spoke so fast he sounded like he was on drugs and you couldn’t understand a word he said. The whole show was just confusing and it was so clear that the volunteers were employees. At the end, David walked off stage and everyone was confused since we did not know the show was over or not. The whole e-mail illusion was a waste of time and the whole point of it is really just to make sure people do not use their phones during the show. During the whole show David talks about his childhood dinosaur toy and at the end it’s supposed to “come to life” but that never happened. The show ended and everyone was confused and hesitation to walk out. The email illusion was ruined since it mentioned the dinosaur coming back to life but that actually never happened. Don’t waste your money and go see Shin Lim or Matt Franco instead.
I really enjoyed his performance. He has excellent illusions including the appearing automobile and space ship. He does a great job interacting with the audience and he uses a cool artificial intelligence element in the performance. With the lighting, curtains, mirrors, and dark clothing of his assistants it’s almost impossible to figure out how he does all his tricks/illusions. A couple items for @copperfield, the person you have leaving for the bathroom and the 2-3 people you have upfront standing up clapping after an act was a little cheesy. You still are a master performer!
Hes an amazing magician but the show was a disappointment. Its more theatrics than magic or talent.
I am honestly surprised people are enjoying this.. The show was just okay, it is mostly for kids. The excitement of David Copperfield was extremely low, he sounds like a robot with no pep/passion throughout the show. Yes, he is ‘performing’ it 3 times a day… but come on… If your job is to entertain people, I was seriously not impressed. I enjoy watching X-Factor magic tricks on Youtube better….
David needs to hang it up. The show was terrible and the rootbeer smell he pumped through the theater was so nauseating. The show was boring, predictable and absolutely ridiculous. We walked out.
What a great show....its a very personal show about David and his father. Its about LOVE in general. I connected with his message and was blown away by his illusions. Dont miss seeing this legend while you can. You wont be disappointed
Great show. I highly recommend it. I’ve seen it twice and still love it.
Not what we expected. The little blue alien gimmick with limited magic was very underwhelming when splurging on good seats. Might be good for children but not for a group of reasonably intelligent adults. There were a handful of moments that were ok, but the rest, not so much.
He’s amazing human and elbow dabbed to everyone at our table. some are elementary tricks, felt like a kids show to me. Good vibes but deffo not a magic show. His staff is pretty rude tho. They said he’d meet us after the show but only pretty girls were allowed to go in the “emergency exit”. Seats too cramped, theater is small, don’t get the booth seats.
This was an absolute the worst show ever. Little magic but a lot of David addressing his personal family issues with a stuffed toy. Please save your money.
Good show worth the $100 bucks. Bunch of inflatables but really high quality. Hes older i respect hes still going at if
I’m not easily fooled when it comes to magic as I’ve had a keen interest since a child. However much of David Copperfield’s show rendered me completely speechless. Never before has my mouth fell open in complete amazement and bewilderment.I admit that Copperfield’s verbal delivery sometimes felt as though he was going through the motions so he could get home quickly, but that didn’t overly detract from the sheer brilliance of much of what happened. Some of the tricks were underwhelming and it’s a shame to see a few tricks you feel you’ve seen many times before, but the big set-pieces really are spectacular.I normally don’t compare, but I also saw the Criss Angel Mindfreak show on another night and I thought it was truly dreadful. I’m surprised the show has so many positive reviews although he did ask people to leave a positive one online if they enjoyed it and people clearly have. In my opinion the David Copperfield show is in another league completely – this really is the pinnacle of magic and illusion.Personally I think it’s worth the extra money to get a seat near the front and centre of the stage, although not necessary. I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t be blown away by this show. Completely recommend it.
You get to see 4-5 tricks max. The show is 90 mins, with most of it filled with long stretched out storylines, where you can hardly hear him as he mumbles to himself. While the live smoke, sounds, and light effects are a fun immersion, the magic tricks themselves are pretty lame. The ‘random’ audience members are obviously part of the act, like the girl that wrote Brad Pitt on the paper. She quickly went into the back rooms as soon as the show ended and before anyone could leave. After the cheap tricks, the arrogant prick forces you to give standing ovations, with paid actors standing up and clapping hard, expecting others to do same, giving you second hand embarrassment. You’re required to keep your cellphones in lock boxes.Overall, fun for kids, but if you want to see good magic as an adult, look elsewhere. Tickets were $150 each.
Reviews of this show are all over the place so I wasn’t sure what to expect but thanks to and MGM donation I was able to get tickets on Vet Tix. This is not your typical magic show, at times it is cheesy, but I must be at the right age that I appreciated listening to the stories about David’s father and their relationship and dreams. Lots of small illusions throughout with audience participation and several really big ones that will leave you wondering how they were done. Was it the best thing I’ve seen in Vegas, no, but a chance to see a legend of illusions made for a very enjoyable evening.
Was worth the money! Technology and mystery was fascinating! Theres a reason hes been in Vegas for as long as he has!
Meh. I can definitely figured out some of his tricks that he used - some of the audiences that he calls out were actually actors! For more than 100 bucks I definitely expect something better, better stories and better performance. Its OK if you are looking to kill time but dont expect it to be a great magic show.
He’s just given up at this point. It was all very lazy - the magic itself, his attitude, his “performance,” the lack of attention to details, etc.I saw him 5-10 years ago and it was a great show. It has seriously fallen off and has been the worst show I’ve seen in my entire life.I’m warning anyone who is considering seeing him… I get if you’ve never seen him and want to say you’ve seen the “David Copperfield,” but know what you’re getting into. I could see how things were “disappearing,” one trick didn’t even work, and that kind of stuff happened many many times. His overall story/theme was lazy and lame. The number of tricks was few and, again, they were all pretty bad. The couple that were ok were so old that they’ve been done by both him and allll other magicians way too many times at this point.Just my fair warning for everyone considering seeing him…
Booked these tickets last minute because we missed Piff the magic dragon... Wrong move. 100% regret spending almost $200 on this show (2 tickets). Im sure he was a really great magician in his prime, but its definitely time to retire. The tricks were super dated and bad acting. There was maybe twice during the entire show where we were like I wonder how that got there but never WOW. Reuses videos and tricks from Im sure years ago and just wears the same clothes, because there was video that was supposed to be real time, but clearly he was many years younger. Would have rather lost the money gambling, at a different show, or at a buffet. Disappointed.
Worst show Ive ever been to. The animatronic alien was what did it for me. The guy is super racist and the jokes where awful. Save your money!
Oh my wow how he just continues to create wonderful shows that are family friendly and worth every cent! In a town that has become soo obsessed with charging huge amounts for every experience this show offers wonderful entertainment and value! Simply brilliant…..
Bad, awful, horrible. Save your $ and go see some other (any other?) magician.I first saw David perform, likely in late 1990s) in a ~10,000 seat arena and the entire performance and production was amazing. I had high hopes his Vegas show too would be impressive.Let me assure you, the Vegas show is anything but impressive. David is clearly going through the motions at this phase of his career. Low energy, bad scripting, mumbled dialogue and too few “tricks” in the show. Just a complete disappointment. Definitely a “Don’t Go”.
Nostalgia has really clouded some peoples judgements. He performed the same two tricks over and over, which were obvious to figure out. Spent 90% of the show talking, there was a malfunction with one of the after-show tricks which ruined the magic. Only giving it two stars because my kids didnt fall asleep. However, a must-skip for adults. The biggest rip-off in Vegas.
Kinda disappointed from the show. Go and see other shows, trust me. Its not more than his big name.
The best show ever. From the moment it starts to the end feels like it lasted 20 minutes. I was so incredible, I wanted to do it again. If I go back to Vegas, David copperfield is the first show I’m seeing.
I had the highest of expectations for this show....I mean it is David Copperfield!!! His 3 grand illusions were awesome! No doubt, but the small fillers in between were almost hard to watch and awkward at times. He speaks so fast and mumbles that the audience members cant hear him and he has to repeat himself multiple times! Youd think after the first few times of people not hearing or responding to his questions he would figure out they cant hear him! The background audio is also a little loud, too, so that could contribute. We got this through Vet Tix (thank you!), but we left being so glad we didnt pay full price. Sorry Copperfield, but if you make some simple changes, the show will be a lot better. Slow down and enunciate!
As a child, my father and I would be so excited every time they announced a David Copperfield special on TV. We would record them and watch the tapes over and over and over, trying to figure out the tricks. It was one of the few things that I had with my father.Fast forward to the show, I was not ready for how much nostalgia that was about to hit me. From the moment David appeared on stage from the first trick all the way to the end, I was like a giddy kid again! The show was great and hit even harder with so much of the themes centered around Davids parents as well. I enjoyed all the typical comedy David weaves into his performances, was wowed by the amazing tricks, the emotion they induce, I loved it all!! Thank you, David Copperfield, for being such an incredible magician, performer, and entertainer, and for one of the few things I was able to bond with my father over!!
My husband and I watched last Sunday nights 7PM show and to be honest, I wasnt looking forward to it. I initially wanted to watch Cirque du Soleil or something similar, but once the show started I realized how fortunate I was to see David Copperfield in action. The man is amazing! His illusions are out of this world. Mind-blowing! I wouldnt enumerate them here because I dont want to spoil his future audience. Five stars for the funny guy and his tricks!
This was a great show. Ive never seen a magic show so I was pretty excited to see David Copperfield live, after all these years of just brushing off watching the show. The one liners were funny and the magic tricks were what I expect from a top tier entertainer. I was with co workers who seemed like they were scoffing at every trick, but in the end they actually enjoyed it too. I would say that you really need to let loose and just be open to this type of show. But if youre naturally uptight and think youre better than something like this, then yeah, you wont enjoy this show. Have a little fun. Its Vegas. This really is top class entertainment and fun.
Brilliant original magic, loved it. The spaceship was amazing. He still has that amazing Copperfield magic.
It was my first magic show and i am impressed. David was amazing. It is not only focuses, this show is a story of his relationships with his father.I was amazed at his tricks and illusions like a child.
We had been wanting to go to the show since we started to make plans to go to Vegas and honestly was expecting so much more. My husband just like the “Alien doll” mainly of the incredible mechanics. But other than that I cannot say anything els good about the show. David is just really full of himself and at one point even made it seem as he was better than one of the volunteers. He makes you stand up and clap for him “standing ovation”. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing any tickets to his show!
I came in very open minded, respect to the OG magic man but I do no recommend this show. Easy to tell every audience member was planted & stuff was pre recorded. Still love him for what he did to the magic world but don’t expect a great show.
Despite the mixed reviews, we made the decision to attend the Copperfield show purely out of nostalgia from my childhood memories of him as a famous magician. And I must say, we were not disappointed. The show was enjoyable and lighthearted, featuring a combination of tricks and humor. Its a fantastic option for spending an evening in Vegas. However, if youre anticipating mind-blowing illusions or if youre a professional magician seeking intricate techniques, this might not be the right choice as Copperfield will not fly.
Was excited to see this and was very disappointed. We wanted to see a magic show and this was more like a high school play with junior high level acting. There were a few good illusions but those were 5 minutes or less of the show. The comedy became tired and lame. Whos brilliant idea was it to have a little alien be the main part of the whole act? It was painful to watch.1 star. Would recommend lighting your money on fire you were going to spend and you will see the magic of it disappearing with more theatrics and entertainment.
There is going through the motions, then there is flat bored of your job. This goes to show EVERYONE gets tired of their own job at some point. David Copperfield needs to retire, that was pathetic and a shell of his former acts…
He made a car appear on stage so that was incredible and my favorite part of the about 75 minute show. show. We would give 3.5 star rating of that was an option.Things I wish I knew before I bought front row tickets.1. No table service so you need to exit theatre for drinks.2. Front row tables are 4 chairs per tiny round table. Super squished. I would not recommend front row seats though. Save the dough.3. What’s with the alien puppet show? This was really bizarre. Especially his interactions with said puppet4. He’s kind of a D!@k to people. No not kind of, he is rude to the audience.5. Language please. It was like he got paid to say GD over and over.6. It was difficult to hear him talking. Unless he was mumbling to himself 😉 but I’m pretty sure he was talking to the audience. You just couldn’t hear him well.Making the car appear was the best! It was also the highlight of the show.It was fun but I expected more, after all he is a David Copperfield. So don’t pay 150.00 a ticket like we did. Buy the cheaper ones and you have a great view.
Attended the 7 PM show on July 27th. This was my first time seeing one of David’s shows in-person as a lifelong fan. I see a lot of people complaining about the cost but I was front row and center and my single ticket was $89 out the door (no meet and greet and I bought directly through MGM the day of the show). He engages a lot with the audience on various tricks. After seeing him I think I can figure out a few of the tricks, but most of them I still have no idea how he does them. I would highly recommend going to see him if you’re looking for a great and entertaining magic show.
Some things were nice, however all the same type of tricks throughout (i.e. you see 4 times appearance of some object on stage). Also some tricks are so simple to figure out its like he things the audience is stupid (e.g. email with a picture of everything that happened that clearly just substitutes image in html link).
My husband and I attended the show on December 6th and were looking so forward to the show all day, however, we were both under whelmed by the show to the point of requesting refunds for our tickets; to which MGM deferred to David’s management team who merely stated that no refund would be given. No apology or condoling at all, they simply didn’t care. I would not recommend this show unless you have both time and money that you just want to throw away.
👍 the magic show itself was amazing! 🪄✨ I grew up seeing Copperfield on TV so live magic was way more incredible. I understand he is older now but he came by and gave my dad a friendly elbow bump which was really awesome!
We were so looking forward to seeing this show and left dumbfounded at how boring it was. I was shocked at the story line of the show. I think 1 illusion wowed us...most of the show was a poor storyline that bored us completely ...we were there to see illusions not see him talk to a puppet or constantly prompt us to applaud and give standing ovations. I wish I had seen the honest reviews before buying the tickets. He seem disengaged and honestly lacked connection with the audience . The other illusions were not even awe inspiring. It was an odd storyline and David did not connect to his material.or us. . I am sorry to write such a poor review for a man that wowed many of us many years ago. Dont waste your money. Lots of shows in Vegas go somewhere else.
Well, Ive seen this show about 10 years ago and now again. Even though he changed his repertoire a little, I did not mind seeing same magic again (not that I even remembered it all). Ive been admiring his tricks since 80s, and I feel heartbroken to write a bad review...I felt very disappointed. What was different this time was that his stunts were now more technologically enhanced, things that can be done and edited in a computer instantly. Also he tried to be funny (with cheesy jokes) and to touch us emotionally, with his childhood story, he tried to be Broadway, I would not call that magic. He was blinding us with the stage light or completely dark moments. That is not magic or an illusion. His email was the cheesiest and photoshopped. He was all over the place. The storyline was low quality and forced. The whole part with his alien puppet was beyond stupid and filler for the show, no magic there. I did not like his attitude. He seemed lazy, also became more plastic, and fake with ego through the roof. It seems like he is fed up and tired of his own show. I did not like his persona at all.I wish I did not go to the show and gave so much money for it. Can I get a refund???? Like one of the reviews here saidDavid needs to retire to salvage his legacy - Chris
Class of all the magic shows. Not sure how he does some of these things but love the way he tells stories of his throughout the show, especially since he grew up just a mile or so from where we live. Great show. Did it twice and will do so again.
Went to the David Copperfield gig last night. Good and impressive show where his story and tricks are well put together. We sat in the front where David is difficult to understand at times and therefore difficult to follow. That was significantly better with pre-recorded texts. It is also noticeable that David has been playing this show for a very long time. At times it is very routine, albeit in a charming way, as he leads us through the tricks and jokes.Highly recommended. No need just to sit in the front. Middle part may be a better price / quality option.
Wow… don’t waste your money on this show!David is clearly going through the motions here… I think he should retire before he embarrasses himself even more …
Its a great show! I was skeptical after reading the recent negativity. Theres only one real complaint which is the audio. The music is way too loud and the mics that follow David when hes walking around/running dont pick his voice up clearly. This complaint is minor....the alien segment is saccharine, but the payoff is kinda breathtaking.I walked away very happy and thats the whole point of his act. If you know anything about this man, its special seeing him still do this stuff in 2023. Do yourself a favor and go see this legend while you still can!
This is the worst show I have ever seen. Im not usually a critical person and tend to go with the flow. However, when I paid over $100/ticket and most I got to see was David talking about his childhood dinosaur toy, his father and a rubberized alien, it was truly disappointing. I kept waiting for a magic show to take of, but it never did. Save your money and instead go see another show or treat yourself to a great dinner experience. I could have done a better show even though I have no experience as a magician. I wouldnt recommend this show to my worst enemy. This show is a total rip off. Im not sure if his older shows were any better, but the current show is beyond a terrible experience.
Being as he is the King of Magic, I had high hopes for this show. However, it felt more like we were watching a play with a lesson about love that happened to have a few magic tricks in it. And to be honest, most of the illusions werent even that great either. Every time something big was about to happen that they didnt want you to see, they simply shined big flashlights and spotlights in the crowds face so they couldnt see what was happening on stage. I know hes getting fairly old, but all of his motions and speeches seemed to be just plain tired. He moved like he had to rehearse something 6,000 times and just wasnt into it anymore. It was also clear that he was reading his lines from papers sitting in front of him as he never made eye contact with really anyone and was always looking down at something. Overall, he just seemed really tired, and thus the show felt really tired and disappointing. Without energy, there is no magic, no excitement, and that was reflected in the show.Basically, the only real reason to see the show is to say that youve seen David Copperfield live - and thats about it.
I saw Copperfield about 20 years ago but I figured out many of his illusions easily at that time. This time however I was surprised that only a few of the stunts were ones I could figure out. The story was a little contrived but allowed for the continuance of the act... Overall I found the performance enjoyable and worth the money.
Illusions were good, but seriously how many times can you repeat the same act, different car/ bike/ plane. David seemed tired, but it was the second show of the night. Seemed to be going through the motion. Drawn out storyline, really dragged on. But in reality hes got half a decade on me and I couldnt do all the jumping around he does let alone 2 shows a night, no possible way. I think the story line was what killed the show, or dragged it out.
I’ve wanted to see this show for about 12 years. I had heard so many great things about it. I took my daughter last night and seriously, it is the absolute worst show in Vegas I’ve ever been to. I’ve seen 20-25 different shows in Vegas. I’ve never felt so let down and wishing I had a refund. This isn’t worth 10-15 dollars let alone the 137 a ticket I paid. do yourself a favor and don’t go to this show. It was soooo. Bad.
He looked like he had done thousands of these shows and got bored of them. The illusions sucked, and the effort was minimal. It was like a joke watching it. I was pretty disappointed.
