I used to vacation here with my family ever since I was a little girl. This place has truly gone to hell. The staff are extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, they treat you like you are a bother rather than a guest. If you are feeling nostalgic about this place SKIP it. Do NOT come here. Unless you want to pay $2000 dollars for their two bedroom suite to be treated like dirt. No room service, no blankets, no customer relationship, the rooms are dated and so under kept. Their suites had stained sheets and a broken toilet, and don’t get me started about the people working the beach umbrella services. So incredibly rude, and apparently half you have to pay for and the guy who runs is was a complete jerk to us, borrowed a table just to hold drinks and he quickly came down on his cart to snatch it back after rudely telling us they no longer provide towels. Just a terrible experience. And this is just the beginning of our stay we are unfortunately stuck here until Friday. Check who was working the beach this day. Not suitable for guest interactions.

Be warned that this is NOT a resort at all. Basically, its an old resort that has now turned into dated condos that get rented out under the guise of renting a room in a resort. Not trying to be mean, but it was just a blah experience. The good things were the location in Marco Island -- its right on the main drag and the beach was great. One other good thing was the lady I spoke with to book the resort and request a late check out. Sadly, thats about it. The walk to the beach was not enjoyable at all; you have to go to the lobby then through the parking garage (literally), past another hotels valet parking areas, past another hotels beach bar (that doesnt associate with this resort so you have to pay cash; no charging it to your room), past restrooms that you cant access as resort members, and then you are on a beautiful beach. As far as the rooms go, they are definitely spacious which is really nice. We had a 2-bedroom suite that was great space but not worth the night cost of over $1,400 a night. Everything was dated. Walls were dirty and cracking from lots of patch work on water damage, sinks were old and yellowed, the secondary bathroom shower curtain (yes, curtain) was disgusting, the carpet was stained. The porch area was nice but not worth the upgraded cost of it. As for customer service, there is NONE. The guy at the front desk knows nothing about the hotel, the area (we asked for a couple basic recommendations with no avail), he wasnt friendly (any of the 3 that rotated there). Again, not to be mean, but just telling others our experience, it was a big disappointment as a whole. BUT the beach itself is AWESOME! Stay somewhere else to enjoy it!

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon. They neglected to inform us that there was construction going on the entire week. We paid for the top floor and had people drilling directly above us at 7am every morning. Went to inquire at the front desk about how long the construction was going on, but they apparently dont know or do anything except sit there. Couldnt help us switch rooms. Gave me a card for the owner of the room so I could call and try to work something out. That went directly to a full voice mailbox every time I called. I told them I couldnt reach anyone at the number they provided, and they took my information and said they would have him call me. Guess what still hasnt happened. The place was nice enough, but for the amount of money we spent, Id say go somewhere else. Almost $2000 to make our honeymoon special and we literally couldnt even talk to each other in the room because it was so loud. Terrible service. Thanks guys. You really made it unforgettable in the worst possible way. The only redeeming quality was the location.

Thus is one of the nicest places Ive stayed! We usually are pretty budget-minded when we travel, but we splurged here. The room has a kitchen, balcony, nice bathroom with large tub and shower. The pool was nice. Not huge, but big enough and in good condition (nothing is worse than a pool that needs work). Valet parking only.

We have booked an apartment in Marco Beach OceanResort on June 17 - 19, as soon as we get to the apartmentwe noticed that the patio door would not close secureleaving the apartment unsafe, also in one of the bedroomsthe toilet will make a weird noise every 5 to 7 minutes, itwas not easy to sleep in that bedroom with that noise, wecalled and report right away as instructed on the propertypolicy. They replied stating that the local team will call and assess the repairs, it never happened, it was extremely frustrated, I do not recommend to book properties with Vacasa.

Old but cute and gives you a home feeling. The place is well managed and rooms are spacious. From carpet you can tell is an old place but I think has a lot of charm and character. The pool on the 5th floor it’s just beautiful and gives you a nice view of the ocean. Rooms are clean, staff is nice and we enjoyed our visit there.

This is not a real hotel. There is no service here. It’s an old hotel that shut down and now airbnbs the units. Don’t be fooled. You don’t get any service. ZERO. Go to Hilton next door and get a normal vacation experience or pay up and try the Marriott. This place can’t even fix their front door. It’s been broken with a sign for the last week.

Calling this place a resort is a stretch. During spring break (Mar 16-20), had a skeleton crew working. We had a few issues that we tried (unsuccessfully) to resolve. Dirty wet washrag in one of the showers upon checkin--called the number listed on their website and in our confirmation email. No one answered the phones and we had to leave a message. The person who called back said the cleaning crew was gone for the day (it was around 5pm) and they would send a valet up to get it. 2 hours later, we went to the front desk (one person working downstairs) and the gentleman knew nothing about our issue. He came upstairs himself to get the rag, having to leave the front lobby unattended. The next day we went to the pool deck. With the almost 50 lounge chairs, there are only 7 umbrellas available. Again we called to see if some additional umbrellas were available--no one answered and we had to leave a message. We were called back moments later (each callback was from a 781- MA number) and assured that they would send someone from maintenance to check on the situation. That never happened. The handle for the standing shower faucet comes off when you change the temperature. In the smaller bathroom (this is the 2 bed/2bath suite), the shower curtain has mold on both the inside & outside (cloth curtain that should be washable). Dirty makeup pad behind the toilet (I hope thats what that thing is). And as a side note: WHY are the towels and bath mats a dark chocolate brown color? Hotels/resorts use white towels for a reason...

I was only able to stay for a night, and wish I had more time to enjoy all of the amenities that they offer. Next time Ill definitely take advantage of the spa! Rooms are gorgeous, clean, and comfortable with an absolutely amazing view of the water. This is definitely not a cheap place, but is definitely worth the price. Their employees go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Their restaurant was quite enjoyable, and we had an amazing time eating breakfast while watching the sail boats go by. My client was so happy they found a place that makes traditional eggs benedict! Would absolute return in a heartbeat.

My wife and I just got back home from a 5-day stay here. I am so glad I found this place. I have to admit, I am not entirely sure how this place operates. It seems like some of the rooms are owned by an Airbnb owner, who rents out certain suites and operates separately from the hotel and the other rooms are serviced by the hotel entity. Regardless, it was a great place to stay. It would be tough to beat the location. We stayed in room 1204, which had a wonderful unobstructed view of the Gulf, looking due west, which meant a fantastic sunset every night. The room was spacious and included a kitchen with stove, microwave, Keurig, mini fridge, cookware, plates and utensils. There is a separate living area that includes a flat screen tv, a cabinet full of extra blankets and pillows, a couch, chair and a coffee table. From the living room, sliding doors lead out to a balcony with the aforementioned view. There is a table with a couple of chairs on the balcony, which also has a view of the pool area. The bedroom had a king size bed and another flatscreen tv and the same view of the Gulf. There is ample closet, dresser drawer and nightstand space. The dressers were in need of some repair as the drawers fell down as you pulled them out, but it wasnt a huge inconvenience. The bathroom was large with a separate tub, and walk-in shower. There isnt a ton of counter space, but it was sufficient. The bathroom had ample bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths - enough to last us almost the entire stay. There is a double door entry into the bathroom, but it doesnt lock. You are also provided a beach bag and several beach towels to use at the pool or the beach. If you book through the resort, valet parking is included. The valets will take your car to and from the attached parking garage. The resort also has several beach chairs with umbrellas for guest to use right up close to the Gulf. A beach attendant will help you get set up. From the hotel lobby, it is an easy walk to the beach. There is a pathway which is partially covered and is less-than-5-minute walk to the beach. Within walking distance of the hotel, there are plenty of places to eat and some places to shop. The outdoor pool is accessible from the 5th floor. The umbrellas are limited. So, if you plan to use one, get to the pool early. The fitness room on the 4th floor has a modest amount of equipment: Treadmills, elliptical, one weight bench, dumbbells up to 50 lbs., a press unit and another unit with adjustable pulleys. However, the A/C wasnt working well in the fitness room, and I had heard they were trying to get it repaired. The hotel does provide cleaning service for your room, if you wish. You hang a tag on your door the night before/morning of the day you want the room cleaned and they will clean it during 1 of 2 time slots that day. We only requested cleaning one day and I was a bit underwhelmed. The unit did look clean, but nothing was replenished - toilet paper, towels, shampoo - none of it. And the used towels we had placed into the hamper they provided were still there. Maybe I just misunderstood what room cleaning included. We did ask for an additional towel and shampoo at the front desk one evening. The gentlemen at the desk told me he would have someone bring it right up and that never happened. Ultimately, I will finish how I started. I am very happy that we found this place. The location and room size are tough to beat for the price. The pool and beach chairs are great value-adds I definitely would recommend, and I would stay here again. I would strongly suggest getting a room with a Gulf view. Have reasonable expectations when it comes to service, and you will be very pleased with your stay.

Weird… but good… it just shouldn’t categorize it’s self as a resort. Do not book this if you want a RESORT experience, no on site restaurant (the Italian place was close when we came on 7/21) no daily cleaning service and no on site spa. That being said the beach is beautiful and our room came with two beach chairs every day. The room was clean and had a little kitchen it’s close walking distance to 7-11 so it was easy to stock up on things. The room was well stocked with towels, coffee, kitchen utensils etc…. Which is good because there is no daily cleaning service.,There was an awesome beach bar restaurant on the way to the beach but the staff won’t tell you about it because it’s not associated with the “resort” or in our case the guy who owns 60/100 units. The surrounding restaurants aren’t amazing but they’ll do the job. Everyone is incredibly friendly. This is certainly not a foodie destination. All in all If you are looking for a real RESORT luxury experience book the Marriott next door (you will pay the premium for that) but I’d you want a clean spot steps away from the beach and you don’t mind having to go off campus for things this place does the job.

We were very pleased with our stay. We booked through Vacasa. 3 things to know. 1) vacasa does not include beach chairs and umbrellas at the beach. You have to haul less than desirable chairs to the beach. There is a service that is not included in the price that should have been, in my opinion. For what we paid. Also, there were only 2 chairs and we booked a room for 4 people. 2) we were told parking was included and then we were forced to pay each day. 3) there are bathrooms near the beach, but they are for club members. So you have to go to the bar and ask for a key, if its there, to use the bathroom. Or walk all the way back to the hotel or loiter near the private bathroom and tailgate in. Which is awkward. There is a code to press too enter, as an alternative to the key, maybe someone will be nice and give you the code.

Not an actual hotel. It is quite shocking how bad this place is. Kind of reminds me of the place in the Shining movie. Except it is peak season. Imagine that this was an amazing place in the 70s. Or even earlier. Maybe Don Draper came here once. But then he left and no one ever came back. There is nothing but a guy at a desk in the front and a valet to take the car. There is no room cleaning, service or replacement of towels or consumables of any kind. Sheets should be graded like sand paper, they are so gritty, the main bed is so bad, it’s an old mattress with a cheap form topper, I may have to move my kids from the 1970s fold out bed and take it for myself. The carpet has turned to tile it’s so old and hard. Sinks are clogged, elevator license expired months ago, no food available. This couldn’t pass for a highway motel in a third world country, never mind a resort hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE. For a few dollars more stay at the Marriot or the Hilton for a few dollars less.

My family and I came to check in and the front desk receptionist was very inattentive. We didn’t know if we were checked in or not, we didn’t know whether we had to self park or valet. Once I had to repeat myself and ask multiple times what our options were she tells us there’s no room keys. She tells us she will have to bring us up whenever we’re going to our room. We go to the pool and have to come up, and can’t locate her hence can’t get in our room. So this was a place my family (which includes several of my extended fam vacation time) for brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks, private parties would gather. This last trip we were treated as if we were not welcome. I was so disappointed. We had become regulars with the staff, but a change in management or some decision about non resort guests was implemented and the experience was so foul, I will not be spending my money there anymore. Note to management: When you go somewhere and spend a lot of money for an experience, you want to feel welcomed. This is NOT the place. Hope your resort guests keep your business thriving. This was one of the nicest resorts we’ve ever stayed at. My husband and I went with our twin 16 year old daughters and it couldn’t have been more perfect for us! There was a walk to get to the beach, but once you get there you are met with a team of people who are there to make sure you’re comfortable. They set you up with lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels and an ice bucket filled with waters. This, alone, made the entire trip for us. Plus, they had an abundance of chairs so we didn’t have to wake up and get down there early just to make sure we got a seat. Whenever we went down, they set us right up. Also, they are happy to take orders for food and drinks from your beach chair. There weren’t many dining options, so we did venture out most days for breakfast and dinner. The resort was not overcrowded (we visited another resort (JW Marriot) to grab a bite to eat and we couldn’t believe how many people were there! The pools were completely filled and there were tons of children everywhere. This made us love our resort even more!! We considered the Marriott before booking here, and this resort was definitely a better fit for us and our family. It was low-key, professional and far exceeded our expectations. Although there were mostly families with children with us, it wasn’t overcrowded at all. We will most definitely be returning!!

I dont give them 5 stars because it seemed like it was never quiet sitting on the balcony during the day. Always a leaf blower, lawn mower or pressure washer going on. Oh well, at least they keep it clean!

Really great experience staying at Marco Beach Ocean Resort. The room was great, clean and specious. The kitchen had all the basics you need to help offset the cost of going out to eat every day. The staff were always helpful and smiling. Always greeted you and were there to handle any request. The beach.... AWESOME. The guys that work on the beach were great always around to help get whatever you needed. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for that boutique hotel where you arent lost in a sea of humanity.

Great hotel in the hotel area of Marco Island. It is close to everything. Our suite was very comfortable and had a full kitchenette. The hot water was plentiful and lasted for all showers. The hotel landscaping was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was great including valet, checkin, and the beach attendants. Everyone was super friendly. The room was very nice and comfortable. The hotel was also very quiet.Beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs are included.VALET is charged $20 per day and there is NOT self park. I do not like valet service, but they were clean and fast. Never had to wait for car, even on multiple trips out.

Not what we expected from previous reviews. It started with our initial arrival when our room was not ready due to engineering working on it. We had to wait and they were not accommodating about it. The entire island shuts down at 10 so be prepared with food and drinks in your room. Room service is extremely overpriced and often gets your order wrong. The first night our AC gushed water from the ceiling on to the floor of the kitchen area. The night staff member who came to our room simply told us to turn the AC off and left us with a single box fan. This was not enough for the hot summer humidity in Florida. We had to contact the front desk again as engineering did not come to our room as promised in the morning. None of the hotel staff felt that AC was imperative for our comfort. It took 3 days and 4 incidents of gushing water and no AC to finally have it resolved. We were not offered anything for our inconvenience or discomfort. They do not restock any toiletries or coffee supplies without a written request(at least in our experience). Although the beach is beautiful I would find better accommodations for your money elsewhere.

The place was nice and this staff was great in general. We decided to stay another night but were told we would need to move room. That was fine, but waiting three hours after checkout for the new room to be cleaned was too much. There was no sense of urgency to get us into another room even though we were spending a large amount of cash. Also the pool is tiny for a hotel this size.

I had not been back since renovations, great job! The resort is very pretty. You can see the daily maintenance going on. The people and service are great. The housekeeping can use improvement, the sofa bed was never put back for day use of room, all hotels I’ve stayed in pick it up and put it back out each night. The kitchen could use better cleaning and service. The balcony should be cleaned along with room each day. They need overall improvement with housekeeping. I would recommend a space be dedicated to an entertainment room to get guests out of room, sun or rain. Having a place inside to congregate would be nice and family friendly. Lastly no real spa just dedicated space for some services. For eso so goers the spa smell and relaxation room is part of experience. I expected more from resort on the spa front.

Nice place but definitely different experience based on who you are and what you ask for. Great views out of every room at the hotel ... except for OUR two-bedroom suite (but charged the same price of course). Everybody in our wedding group were many floor above with beautiful views, while we were on the lower corner (kind of a running joke). Valets were complete jerks to me for having the nerve to ask for my vehicle to be pulled up so I could load it. However they pulled my friends up immediately upon request without so much as a question. They left his parked for him to load and then loaded him up with water to go. Every ask I made was made appear like a rule violation or inconvenience, even refusing to open the door for me as I brought my luggage through. I had to justify why and when I would need to load up my vehicle. Pool is small, no cafe, unclear what is open and available and what is not. On the upside, the wedding was fantastic and organized, perhaps a different operations crew was running that... There are other options on the island that provide a better experience.

I had a 10-day stay at Marco Beach resort, and everything was top-notch. I marked the room down as it was a little tired. However, it was a really good space that allowed us to enjoy the resort to the full; we had all the facilities we needed for making snacks, etcThe staff were amazing catering for all our needs from doorman to barman. There is The Tarpon Club, which shares beach facilities, the beach bar food is gorgeous. The hotel is situated slap bang in the middle of the beach, we are shell collectors, and the beach gave us better shells than Sanibel and Captiva.Oh yes, great sunsets from our room and beach.

The real draw here is the beachfront location and in room kitchen. The pool is small but perhaps on account of that, never crowded or busy. There is one restaurant that services all meals. Michael the manager understands hospitality and provided exceptional service, when members of the staff fell short. The engineers, parking, front of house staff were all pleasant and capable with the notable exception of our experience at breakfast with the hostess and waitress on two occasions. My husband and I went to Marco Island for our honeymoon in October 2020 and stayed at Marco Beach Ocean Resort for part of our stay. It was absolutely perfect. It is such a nice boutique resort and the staff was top notch. The concierge and valet were so helpful and recommended places to go and restaurants to try. We had a wonderful view of the gulf and the room service was so delicious. Unfortunately we did not get to eat at Sale e Pepe but are hoping to one day go back! Knowing we were coming for our honeymoon, they had a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates with the sweetest note waiting for us upon our arrival. Do not waste your money here! Reservations lady hung up on me on purpose, called right back and wouldn’t answer the phone. Their website knew I was looking into the room and quoted one price and when I booked 2 hours later it was $200 more. I wanted something luxurious for my husband and this was not it. The couch was all stained and roughed up. The master bed was incredibly uncomfortable, we woke up sore every day. 2 bedroom suite is just old and run down. The restaurant was not impressive, took very long for our order to arrive. This was DEFINITELY not worth $1000 per night. They wouldn’t refund the original price I saw. I regret staying here and regret spending our hard earned money here. If you’re looking for something luxurious this is not it nor are you even right on the beach.

Overall great experience at this resort. The hallways could use an update considering they are surrounded by newer more attractive resorts on both sides. The pool is also too small for this place to be considered a resort and there’s only one. Went here for a relaxing girls trip and was satisfied with it all but would have appreciated a more luxurious experience for the price. Also, a couple of outlets in our room did not work and the door handle to the bathroom door was broken. The beach area also could use some upkeep in terms of accumulation of seaweed and debris as the day went on.

Its valet only parking for $20 a day PLUS you are charged 7% tax on the valet. Like.. Honestly.. Youre taxing valet parking???! The rooms are good size. Quiet. Shower grout was chipped and tile had cracks. Also there were tiny black ants. Ac is very loud. Balcony good size. Hotel allows smoking which is disappointing. While its on the beach its not on the beach. There is a walk which is not well lit at night and once the sun goes down the beach is completely dark. The valet attendents were quick and polite. Check in staff were nice and polite. We attended a wedding during the event and a lot more should have been done to keep the public out of the wedding area. You had people walking through the whole time. Partying and talking loud enough you could hear the whole conversation during the ceremony. Beach patrol drove through the aisle during the ceremony. Also the woman galina? Is incredibly rude. She should not be in that position. She was needlessly rude to several guests. She has zero people skills. The staff serving the food was also blatantly rude. They pushed into guests multiple times and took glasses right out of peoples hands. They also argued with multiple guests.. Property is located in a very nice area of the beach on Marco Island. Furthermore the beach is not very crowded in this area which is great. Just 2 blocks north is the JW and Hilton and that area of the beach is really crowded. If property were better taken care of this could easily be a 5* place.

We were guests here for a wedding. The hotel staff (excluding some of the beach servers) were extremely rude and abrasive. They would constantly stop guests in our party to question us, but never stopped other guests to question them. They would ask us what we were doing, who we know, what our room numbers were, what our names were, etc. It made our group feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were also given a hard time in regards to our presence there, (multiple wedding members on separate occasions) by a specific pregnant staff member. Ironically, she was ostensibly in charge of helping out with the wedding events in the hotel despite her indecorous attitude...Not to mention, a lot of the other guests at this resort would stare at us on the beach. Even after we would say something or wave. They were extremely unfriendly and lacked appropriate social manners to neighbors nearby.I would never recommend staying in such an environment if youre planning to enjoy your vacation. They are not accommodating or even kind to diverse groups of people.

This is my second time here and thankfully I am leaving tomorrow. The first team here was a huge success which made us come back here. For this trip I paid over $1,000 a night for a 2 bedroom suite with a gulf view. After the 5th day we finally realized that the air conditioning in the bedrooms were broken. We let the front desk know and they had let maintenance know. They tried to fix it, but not until after the pool, right before dinner did they let us know the compressor was broken and we had to switch rooms. A manager came to let me know that he has another 2 bedroom suite on the 6th floor for us for the last 2 nights and that he would cut the price to $600 for those two nights. I guess at this point I was a little thankful. Got to the room and went to see what our new view was like and it was looking at a street and a tree. Gee, thanks for the discount. He never told me I had this view. If I wanted to look at a tree for $600 a night I would have stayed in NY. Went downstairs furious. Now they lowered the price to $300 and change. It gets better. I then realize this room is infested with Ants. Told the front desk and they said they would send housekeeping. They really didn’t care much. This place is really going downhill. Vacationers, beware.

I wanted to like this place a lot because of its high standards in the quality of care it describes on its website and for its Amazing views of the beach and close proximity to it.However, the quality of care was very inconsistent. Staff for most part was courteous for we were given standard care and respect. Food at their restaurant is well made and fresh and the high price seems to be a trend on the island. The spa services were expensive but the care given was above average with very professional services. I do wish that valet was not a compulsory $20/day rate and there should be an option of self park. Most important of all is the room that boasts the home-like feel, which lacked that feel in many aspects. First of all, the kitchen has bare minimum with inconsistent items from one kitchen to another... Just like inconsistent shower head, inconsistent and cheap material patio furniture from one suite to another. How do I know the difference between two rooms? Because the hotel manager was nice enough to move us from one room to another when the sofa bed had baby Spiders crawling on them over their newly replaced bedsheets. I happen to hear many stories about these things due to my profession so the night before I used the sofa bed, I requested replacement bedsheets so I can make the sofa bed and in return I was told off the by front desk that they are regularly replaced. I insisted to have a replacement sheet at least to put under their spare fleece blanket and he brought it with a not-so-happy attitude. In the morning I went to take off the old bedsheets, I saw the spiders and notified the staff and they came immediately to assist, first they said its an ant but after looking at the pictures they said possibly spider and unlikely bedbugs. They offered to change the bedding but I requested a room change as I have a little baby who I didnt want getting bitten by the spiders. We moved to a similar room but there were more insects there, plenty of ants and few worms in the bathroom. I was too tired at this point and the staff seemed to respond aww sorry so I left it at that.On top of that, house keeping used my babys bottle washing sponge to clean a pot and clogged up the sink, found that out as we returned late night tired, and the toilet was running as they must have used it after we left... Weird part is the cleaning service was declined earlier that day so not sure why they came in again at night when we were gone. Just bad overall. Few people ruined it for some nice people that do work there.I wont be coming back to this hotel again as I feel that the experience should be better for the costly suite. Maybe the hotel management should contact the exterminator services and have higher standards for the quality they promise to deliver.Update on 4/5/19: to support the lack of service, no one has yet reached out to me to inquire on this posted a phone feedback that I have them.

I come to Marco Island every summer with my family and stay at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort. We did not come last year because i was giving birth however we returned this summer to celebrate our babys first birthday. This is no longer a hotel even if they try to tell you it is. It is a rental intermediary where you stay in the rooms but basically have no hotel amenities- very disappointing. The facilities are abandoned, the rooms are not well maintained, they no longer have room service, they will not bring food or drink to the beach for you (need to order and eat AT the physical beach bar) and you cannot take what you order to your room. We stayed here years ago when this was truly a resort and hotel and loved it. When we decided to go on a spring break trip with the family decided to book the Marco Ocean Beach resort from their website. Shame on me for not checking the reviews, but this place is no longer a resort, and barely a hotel. I gave them a one star review for deception. The website has the same look and feel as the old resort website. I noticed immediately when we entered the lobby that the front desk was abandoned, and there was only a single desk with an employee there. Turns out this is the property manager and these rooms are all owned privately. Essentially it is an Airbnb. There is no longer food and drink service at the beach unless you belong to the Tarpon club, which is a newly formed beach country club of sorts. Housekeeping is at a minimum here, and when we stayed, one elevator was out of service. The property overall is fairly clean and quiet. The rooms could use some updating, but they are not terrible. There is a valet service which is nice and I have to say that my interaction with the property manager and valet was very positive. They need to take down the old website and strictly market this property as rental condos. If you are OK with that then you will be happy staying here. Unfortunately I booked under false pretenses. Make no mistake. This is not a resort and you are basically on your own while staying here.

Went to the outside bar for a beer and nachos. Maurice was friendly but very busy as well. Beer was cold. Nachos were very good when finally served. Just disappointed that they automatically put a 20% service charge on the invoice and then ask for an additional gratuity. I am generally very generous to my servers, but when the company puts the 20% on the invoice, I declined any additional gratuity. Just appeared to be backhanded in my opinion.

We were not overnight guests, so I will not comment on the accommodations, although the establishment appeared clean, and it had a wonderful view of the Gulf. We joined a guest there for lunch at the pool. The server at the bar was friendly and efficient. The frozen strawberry daiquiri and Laid Back Old Fashion were frosty cold and tasty. The Maine Poached Lobster Roll should be renamed Seafood Roll. Perhaps the chef sneaked in a half teaspoon of lobster meat so it could be called that, but we neither saw nor tasted ANY lobster at all. We believe the lobster meat was that fake seafood, surimi. For three people who have had many a Maine lobster, it was quite a disappointing lobster roll.

Very clean.Housekeeping was by several times while we were gone just to replace towels. Bed turn down at night with chocolate. Restaurant was very expensive. Be on 10th floor or you wont see the beach from your room. Beach service good. Very wide beach but it has a lot of shells.

This is not a 4 star hotel. Maybe 3 star hotel. The location is obviously nice, right on the beach. The shower in the room is either scolding hot or cold. No 24 hour room service. Nothing to eat past 11 pm. Absolutely not worth the money spent. I would of paid double to stay at the JW but it was booked fool. Please change this to a 3 star hotel so people arent fooled.

Our first time staying on Marco island and chose this hotel for its reviews and Kitchenette. Great spot for young families. We have twin toddlers so we needed access to a fridge and quick meal preps for breakfast. Hotel: incredible people - The staff are very friendly from front desk to room service and housekeeping. My son was sick one night and threw up all his food multiple times we received housekeeping service quickly and new linens refreshed. Twice daily housekeeping. The grounds and the pool are kept very clean. Beach - one of the most beautiful beaches sugar white sand for miles. Beach service the cocktails are strong and well mixed. Although our weather was cooler we stayed out for many hours on the beach. The sand is so soft and the gulf is calmer without the winds so our little ones loved building sand castles. Watch out for aggressive seagulls they will grab food from your plate without hesitation. The staff was so kind to deliver another fish tacos to our room since the birds snatched away my husband’s meal while he was taking a bite! :) The Pool area has no birds so it’s better to order food there. Room 807 overlooks the pool garden and gulf. we had a large one bedroom enough space for a family of 4 to hangout and watch the beautiful sunsets. One of the nice perks included having wooden cribs instead of travel pack and plays. The cribs were already in our room upon arrival. Hotel room had a refresh some dated areas but overall very clean we’ve met many families who’ve stayed at different properties on the island and always come back here. Again the staff are very friendly. Food: the menu is basically the same from pool, room service, beach although there’s limited variety we did try the jerk wings, home made salmon burger, fish tacos and kids pasta. It was all delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. It was easier to order room service some days then to walk out to the local plaza. The food is all sourced from their well known Italian restaurant on site so there is attention to quality. I would definitely stay here again. I would recommend that the hotel build a playground on site for toddlers to exhaust their energy when the weather is a little cooler. One downside of Marco there wasn’t a walkable playground and the one close by was part of a gated community. The hotel is intimate it isn’t as expansive and busy as the JW next door. It’s easy walk if you’re looking for more action and restaurant choices. I like that the hotel was smaller whenever we called for room service, extra linens or toiletries or had any other questions they were addressed promptly. Thanks for a wonderful stay and taking care of our family.

First night is OK. Would be better if they had an option for 2 queens rather than the king and pullout, as the pullout is very uncomfortable. Pool was OK. Lots of dragonflies. Hot tub was nice. Beach had umbrellas and chairs designated for the guests. Balcony was good. The place looks outdated but if youre just a couple or a single person it should be fine. You will be seeing edits to this post throughout my trip marked with EDIT:EDIT: Would not recommend bringing kids as the bathroom has no locks. The only lock on anything in the room (besides the from door) is the safe. You can say the balcony has a lock but I have yet to see it working. Safe is a good size, was able to fit a whole computer bag and a laptop (15 inch) in it with other things (battery pack, book, chargers). Bathroom is in the bedroom and the doors to the not-lockable bathroom have a decent sized gap between them, so everyone in your room will hear a shower or the toilet. The room separate from the living room/kitchen also doesnt have a lock. I cant stress enough how this place doesnt have locks on anything. I came here from a Marriott in Sanibel because I wanted to enjoy the beach. The beach is great but the rooms should be upgraded.Another pet peeve if mine is the cabinets that reach to the ceiling have a part that cant be opened (see picture).

We were somewhat disappointed its very beautiful and it has good potential but you get a lot of lip service there and I was real disappointed in something that happened to us that was not taken care of

Highly recommend Marco Beach Ocean Resort for a luxurious and hospitable beach getaway! I stayed in a King Bed suite for two nights for a friend’s wedding and it was far and beyond my expectations. The room itself was outfitted with plush linens, lots of pillows, a comfortable bed and a giant bathtub.Hospitality here was on par with a Ritz Carlton property. My friend’s wedding was gorgeous and the coordinator Galina worked really hard to make it a special day for her. One of the concierge associates Joanna even ran over two Sharpies for us to use for her guestbook, because the ones we had were bleeding through. *This* kind of customer service is what makes guests come back!Pro Tips:- There is no self parking, so you need to valet for $20/night- They support sea turtle conservation, so be sure to look for the placard in your suite!- If you forget a bathing suit or cover up, they sell a few women’s items in the gift shop for less than $40

We have many good memories with this hotel. We visited here a multiple times. Its definitely a great hotel to relax and chill as its right on the beach. Its definitely on a very quiet side of the island...nothing like Miami...There arent many restaurants, bars or shops nearby...or on Collier, but whats awesome about this hotel is that every room comes with a full-size kitchen. Having our own kitchen was a huge plus, due to the fact that our very young daughter came with us. Their pool wise, I am not so sure if I ever loved it...I think its just too small, chairs are limited. I really loved their steam/dry saunas...I used both saunas while I was there last time, almost every day. Its free to use for all guests. Other than that, I am not sure what else they can really offer. I just feel like their amenities are so limited that we were always visiting the hotel next door to this, which is JW Marriott. The hotel itself is very pretty and elegant..We had an ocean front suite last time and it was just spectacular. I think everyone was nice and kind, and we were treated very well. Will we visit again ? Maybe or maybe not...is this a nice hotel ? Yes ! I just wished that they had more amenities though. If you are really trying to spend all your time on the beach, then this hotel has it all...

If your room is on a higher floor, you have the beach view. The beautiful restaurant Sale e Pepe has the beach front view which hosts many beautiful weddings. This property is next to the JW Marriott Marco Island which we all know they always pick the best location in the area. So comparing to paying the way high room rate at the JW Marriott, the Marco Beach Ocean Resort offers the same convenient beach access with lower room rate per night. On top of that, you can always walk to the JW Marriott and enjoy all their restaurants and facilities like their spa and arcade game room which both are pretty impressive. Check with the JW Marriott on black out dates on their facilities before you travel.

Nice facility and access to the beach. While the majority of our stay was nice we had one issue that was very surprising considering the level of service I would have thought a facility such as the Marco Beach Ocean Resort would provide. One evening we took an Uber to a restaurant about 5 miles from the resort. Not being familiar with the island we really had no idea where we were. We had a great dinner and were attempting to get an Uber back to the resort around 9:00 p.m. There were no Ubers on the island, or nearby that would respond to my inquiry. Not knowing what to do I called the Resort and asked if they could help. The manager that took my call made a couple of inquiries but came back on the phone and told me that she could not be of any help. When I asked her what we were supposed to do she said that we were on our own and it was not her responsibility to provide transportation. When I questioned her further she apologized but said she could be of no help and we were on our own. She made no effort to problem solve or suggest other car services that could bring us back to the hotel. So there we were, on a park bench on Marco Island, 5+ miles from our hotel and not knowing how we were going to get back to the resort. Luckily a couple we had met earlier was still having dinner and we were able to get a ride with them. I was shocked at the lack of empathy by the manager and how she dealt with us. I talked to another manager the next day and was told basically the same thing….. “Not our problem”.What really shocked me was the total lack of empathy to a person in a strange environment being stuck somewhere and not knowing how to get back.

Have visited Marco Island now 12 times. Without a doubt, this was the worse facility we have stayed in. The unit was dirty, the light in the shower was hanging out of the ceiling, the door stop in the sitting area was falling onto the floor, the black key cover on the outside door kept falling off so we left it off, the sink is so small it is crazy, every time anyone came in on the unit next to us the inside door between the two units made a knocking sound, the sound insulation between units is horrible, the hallway noise comes right into the unit and it feels odd renting a private unit and not being able to enjoy most of the hotel facilities.Landscaping very pretty and pool is nice but awful expensive for what I mentioned above.

This review is LONG overdue! We got married here in February before the pandemic. They treated us and my whole family and friends so well the entire time. This resort is so beautiful and we had such an incredible time staying here. We stayed for about a week and everything was 5 stars, top notch. Massage 5 stars, food 5 stars, staff 5 stars, sunset, beach, amenities all 5 stars! I never leave reviews and am only doing so bc I’m looking at dates to stay here soon and saw the reviews tab. A part of me doesn’t want to tell everyone how incredible it is because I want it all to myself when we visit lol If you want a cruise ship vibe with millions of people stay next door at the marriot. If you want a non crowded pool and beach with incredible friendly service on a first name basis stay here! The definition of relaxation and vacation is the MBOR! Beach towels and umbrellas are included which is such a big plus. Most other hotels charge at least $50 for an umbrella. Also HUGE thanks to Galina for helping us throughout the whole wedding process and thank you to the whole staff (wish I had everyone’s name) for being so nice, accommodating and welcoming our whole week stay! Everyone truly went above and beyond when it wasn’t even necessary. Thank you!

Lovely and elegant, this place has very nicely appointed rooms and excellent customer service. The restaurant here is highly regarded and has a portico for dining with ocean views. Interestingly, the rooms are individually owned and participate in the hotel reservation program with rights to stay in the unit for personal vacations. We real estate agents refer to it as a condotel. Owners can make as much as $70,000 per year gross income on these places and still stay there a week or two for their own vacation. One thing you should know about this place though. there is very little parking space so therefore no self-parking. All the parking is valet.

Came here a week ago for a wedding. We all live in Michigan so it was an out of state wedding for everyone. I want to save EVERYONE the trouble of booking a wedding here, DO NOT DO IT! A wedding is a special day and comes once in a lifetime. Everything about this place ruined this day for them. The customer service was terrible, everyone was so incredibly rude with a poor attitude. The first drink my boyfriend ordered, the bartender shoved the tip jar in front of his face before he would even make it, and wouldn’t even open the bottle he wanted because it was “unopened still.” The air conditioning was out and little did we know it had actually been out for weeks and no one informed anyone in the wedding party about it. The seating info the bride wanted everyone to receive wasn’t allowed because the workers kept pushing everyone out of the way telling us “it’s not for us yet, wait!” But that’s actually how we were supposed to find our seats so we were all lost, the tables kept getting cleared every minute so no one could keep a drink, and lastly all of our wedding gifts from the bride and groom were thrown away before 10pm and the wedding was until 12am. I would hate for anyone else to have an experience like this one, hopefully I can save some people!

If I could give this hotel 10 stars, I would! We had flights to Fort Myers booked since before the pandemic and then we decided to go forward with the trip and go to Marco Island because. We figured that a smaller island might be a safe place to vacation during the pandemic. Little did I know that it turned out to be a vacation of a lifetime because I got engaged and I couldnt be happier that it was at Marco Beach Ocean Resort. Before I talk about that experience, I want to mention some basic expectations such as cleanliness, staff, etc.I was nervous to travel and stay at a hotel with the virus, but I felt completely safe at Marco Beach Ocean Resort. The room was extremely clean and I love little touches like water bottles and chocolates next to the bed. The hotel maintained social distancing practices and every single staff member wore their mask (and wore it properly!). Because its a smaller hotel, it didnt feel crowded at all and I felt comfortable at the pool. The hotel guests also followed the rules and wore their masks when they should. Anytime you passed by a hotel staff member, they always said hi and you could tell that they were smiling under their mask.We were originally looking at other hotels like the Ritz in Naples or the JW Marriott on Marco Island, but decided on Marco Beach Ocean Resort because Ive heard great things and read positive reviews. Other upscale hotels can sometimes feel too uppity or snobby, but I loved that Marco Beach Ocean Resort was extremely high end, but had a warm and comfortable environment. The friendly staff and personal touches gave it that warm welcoming vibe.Tessa at the concierge went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make my engagement the most special moment in my life. This hotel/Tessa was the only resort on the Island that was willing to work with my family and help with the most amazing plan, beach, and room set up. TESSA WAS AMAZING!!!I would absolutely recommend the Marco Beach Ocean Resort and you can bet that I will be back!

We recently stayed for a week at the resort and unfortunately midway through the trip my 1-year-old fell and cut her eyebrow on a glass table cover which required 10 stitches. We rushed her down to the front desk to see if they knew where we could take her. They didnt have any answers nor did they act too concerned. I myself used the internet and called around before going to Galisano Children’s Hospital in Fort Myers, where she received excellent care. Upon our return, no one was the least bit concerned about my daughter. No one came and asked us how she was doing, no report was made, nothing!I’m well aware that a hotel room is not child safe, however, the glass tops on all the surfaces in the room I believe are a real hazard. The glass tops themselves stick out further than the actual surface they’re covering and have sharp corners. If it weren’t for the glass, my daughter would not have been cut.The meal we ate at Sale e Pepe was overpriced garbage and menu descriptions were poor. Our server was young and barely spoke English. Her response to our couple questions was, everythings very good and fresh; the chef is from Italy. If youre paying $35 for pasta the service should be impeccable. My wife had one bite of her meal and didnt touch the rest. We both left disappointed and hungry after spending over $100 for the meal. For the price of the lodging and meals, a certain level of service is expected. Our expectations were not met. After our trip, I emailed them telling them about our experience. They responded back asking if they could call me and talk about it, which I agreed to. After a few calls from their managers to discuss everything, they offered us 1 free nights stay the next time we book our trip. I never asked for anything. I only wanted to be heard and offer insight, possibly helping to prevent a future incidence. I took time out of my busy schedule to discuss the matter with multiple managers and found the remediation insulting. How does spending money of flights, car rental, lodging, food, etc to receive one free nights stay, any benefit to my family? The only party who would have benefited would be their resort. Thanks but no thanks. Next time Ill stay at the Marriott where I know Ill get quality customer service. Not some hotel where I have to walk through the parking garage each time I want to go to the beach.

We were very pleased upon our arrival at the resort. Very clean, with a classic bright feel. There was maintenance going directly on our room balcony so we requested a different one. Kind of weird we were placed there to begin with. Our location was moved with ease nonetheless. It was fairly easy navigating to the beach after settling in.--Disappointment came with the dining experience. To start, Paul did a nice job of trying to rectify the issue. Wanting to order room service, I opened the large resort directory/information book. When I called to place the order, the person on the other end kept telling me they dont have those items. I then found out the front desk and restaurant did not have the same menu in the room. After trying to order for 40 minutes, 4 call backs (yes, FOUR), talking to the Executive Chef, an order was finally placed. Another hour later, after waking up from falling asleep on the couch waiting for the food, I call the front desk to inquire about the order and they state its on the way. This part was true. What wasnt, was the order itself. My shrimp and chicken pasta was missing shrimp. The chicken looked as if it was boiled first, then thrown on the grill to char it slightly. Absolutely no flavor. The nachos were stale and looked like they were from a cartoon movie theater and the third came in the form of a pizza, though it was described as a char-grilled sausage platter with grilled onions. Paul came to check on the service shortly after, and deliver us a bottle of wine for the trouble. He was just as surprised to what was delivered. Also stating that they dont even serve the nacho dish?!. We were then invited to eat at Sale y Pepe (the nice resort restaurant) the next day. Expecting a different dining experience, we were pleased with the service and the food, but it still didnt leave us changing the bad taste in our mouths from the night before.A few more almost laughable instances;*We were sent a bottle of champagne the next day (a kind gesture) but were greeted at the door by someone saying I dont know whats wrong, but heres a bottle of champagne to make up for it.*When I called to ask for a later checkout I was told You know, I dont know, Were really busy, We have 40 check outs and over 30 check ins and I just dont know if we can do it, let me call you back. I almost started to feel sorry for the guy for how busy his day was about to be!All Im saying is, sometimes less is more. The hotel has a lot of potential, but it seems like it should be on an episode of resort rescue or something of the like. Next time in Marco Island Ill stay at the JW Marriott.

Why not 5 stars? A few things. First off, you are not an equal guest. The staff told us the beach chairs were first come first served, but they are not. The staff reserves the first row for regulars with whom they have an arrangement. And Im not talking tips. Everyone tips. If youre not in that small clique your view is of the back of the row of chairs in front of you. See pics to see the tight cluster of blue umbrellas all squished together. We were here over New Years Eve. Called in Early November and asked concierge to help with a dinner res for that night someplace local since the hotes only restaurant was booked full. She declined(?) Instead sent us a list of local places we could try. What exactly do concierges do if not help with local bookings? At 5 each day the water stopped working as everyone prepped for the sunset and dinner. I mean it stopped coming out of the faucet. No water. Pool is tiny. No kids activities at all. Zero activities on New Years Eve. Not even a campfire. The Marriot next door was rocking. The views are amazing. The room was nice and the staff were great aside from the cabal at the beach who police the umbrellas. Note- 18% gratuity is on all your food service and at Sale e Pepe. Finally, the gulf was polluted during our trip. Just like our last half-dozen trips to SW Florida in Naples and Ft Myers. Nobody was swimming. So, on the upside, the place is nice, and there is a great little plaza nearby we walked to most nights for dinner. Best feature - sunsets.

It is amazing. We came here for our Honeymoon. The service here is phenomenal. From the time we drove up and each day thereafter, they have gone above and beyond to make sure that our stay here is pleasurable. Its definitely worth returning!!

The place is a little dated, had to change rooms because the rooms in the 12 floor are too noisy because the main ac unit makes the whole floor have an unbearable humming sound. So we were moved to the 9th floor were a was waken at 6 am because the drain pipes were banging like crazy. That was two nights of bad sleep. Then the day of check out some kid pull the fire alarm as we were ready to leave the room, the result was having to go down 9 floors with the suitcases.I was not even offered a complimentary drink. Will not go there again.

Overpriced for what we got and Im not talking about the size of our meal. Food tasted good, but not great or over-the-top like you would expect for$160/person. Wont go back for any of the prefixe meals on holidays.

Wow, this place is stunning! The beach service is one of the best on Marco Island. Staff is attentive, 2 restaurants, on the beach service, free smoothies at 3pm, white beaches and umbrellas waiting for you when you arrive. It doesnt get any better, enjoy!

The adjoining rooms we rented were very nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable for someone who has a really bad back. The bathrooms were nice with a separate tub and shower. We loved having the kitchenette too, however, there is no coffee maker/French press but one of those gross plastic “coffee” pod machines. They have pots and pans, oven/stove, large sink, dishes, glasses, etc. as well as kitchen towels/rags and a small container of Palmolive dish soap; no dishwasher and the refrigerator is small and compact - about 2 feet high. There’s no table and chairs indoors but there’s one outside with two chairs (in a one bedroom suite). The REALLY BAD thing for us is that “easy listening” music plays VERY loudly ALL DAY long. You can’t hear the ocean or the wind through the palm trees. It does not stop until around 9:00 pm unless there’s an “event” then the music is even louder and echoes against all the little buildings which makes the extremely loud music distorted. You HAVE to keep all the windows and doors shut if you don’t want to hear it. So if you’re going to enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds this is NOT the place for you. The beach is also quite far away if you’re disabled like me. There’s a nice boardwalk to the beach which is wheelchair friendly and they have a beach wheelchair you can use. My daughter and her family had no problem with the distance. There’s no road or anything to cross, it’s just that the hotel is set far back (the separate restaurant building is in front of the hotel). The beach is beautiful, clean, and has white sand. There’s a hotel kiosk where you can get large beach towels and get your chairs/umbrellas assigned. They have ice cold water available and I believe lemon water as well where you can fill up your water bottles. All the chairs/umbrellas are kinda crammed together so get there very early to stake yours out and if you don’t, you won’t get one near the water because even if people aren’t using their chairs - all day - their stuff is; same with the pool. Yep, it’s one of those places.Everyone is really nice and friendly and helpful. The restaurant has delicious food. Breakfast and lunch outside has the best view of the ocean but the service is a bit slow.If you make reservations and want to see the ocean (you won’t hear it because of the music) book a room above the 5th floor pool. The fifth floor rooms are nice actually and open up to a gated little garden area with grass. So I guess if you have a brood of noisy kids, you won’t hear the ocean anyway plus it’s great having a kitchenette so babies and kids can eat breakfast in the room (there was only a table and two chairs outside on the balcony in a one bedroom suite).

Really nice room with kitchenette. Would be nice if it had a dishwasher but only 2 room suites have that. Right on the beach. Employees were very nice and helpful. 1 room suite is bigger than my first apartment.

Wow, Marco Beach Ocean Resort is absolutely beautiful. The suites, beach, restaurant, service and staff are outstanding. I have selected this venue for my wedding. I am particularly impressed with Lynn Alexander, Director of Sales and Galina Manovska, Wedding & Special Event Manager. I highly recommend MBOR!

Called one day prior to check in, was told that we could check in prior to 4 o’clock. Called the morning of checking in, was told they would accommodate us if we needed to check in early. Showed up at noon, hoping to check in early. When we arrived they told us our room wasn’t ready. Waited over 4 hours before being able to check into our room.

I planned a trip and I called and talked to 3 people to see if a 18 year old could get a room and they all said yes so I drove 17 hours and when I got there they said to wait 2 hours for our room to be clean which was okay then when finally went up to get the room and they said we had to be 21 but they were fine till they saw I had my boyfriend with. So I’m sure they discriminate against gays. And I had put a down payment on my room and had to refund it

This place is kind of odd in that theres some really great features but also really annoying stuff. Pros - super friendly staff, clean rooms, fast valet. Cons - mandatory valet, waking to the beach requires you to go through the parking lot, wifi is inconsistent. But the worst is the noise,it never stops, the pool plays loud music during the day, theres construction going on their restaurant so loud you can hear the boom workers backup sirens in the hotelrooms. At the beach theres people flying drones, gas powered rc cars, and the ATVS to run chairs and jetskis are never ending. These may not be cons for you as some of them come from the hotels all being in close proximity. But for us, we prefer more seclusion, and we visited here during the off season. To me its not worth the price.
