Rude staff-let me explain: asked the gentlemen at the front entrance (where they charge cover) if they have bottle service. His reply “ I don’t know” I asked who would know his reply “the host, I’m not the host” I asked where the host was “back there” he replies, flippantly. We were a party of 10 guests excited to buy hookahs, bottles, tables and enjoy the evening. You would think a reputable venue would train their staff to be more polite, after all people are paying good money to come here and have a nice evening and not be treated with disrespect. I used to come here a lot but this place has lost its allure. The management needs to revamp things. Seems like a bunch of thugs running the place now. Save your money, go elsewhere.Long story short, all 10 of us left and spent our money at another venue and still enjoyed our night but we won’t be coming back to this place.
Maybe my experience was not typical because it was a slow weekend after the 4th of July. It was our first time and everything was great!! Staff were awesome, friendly, and helpful. The crowd was thin, but good. They did not nickel and dime us. In fact, the cover was free for ladies. However I can confirm the cocktails were high ($25 for a moscow mule is pretty insane) but the sodas were reasonable. The crowd was good. Salseros and salseras were great. Lots of good people to dance with. If you are looking for good Latin social dancing..this is the best I have tried recently. The spots in DC are dead for Salsa.
The security and manger are rudeThe dress code says no ripped jeans or sneakers but people were in sports bras and biker shorts sneaker . Spoke to Damien and he said he doesn’t have to update his dress code cause it’s up to him. His security was rude telling people to not sit on the edge of the couch and manager agreed but we had 10 people that didn’t fit on the little couch and he said he didn’t know it was 10 people?? But the reservation said it was for 10 people. The dj wasn’t great either and security said we couldn’t fall asleep but how could we not when the music was trash? They need to work on their atmosphere music and management .
The manager Damien is incompetent . The dress code says no baggy/ ripped jeans or sneakers I walked in and people were in sneakers, biker shorts , sports bras. But he doesn’t like boots it’s laughable : I spoke to him and he looked uninterested no wonder why the place is half empty . Do not go here. The security and manger are rude and disgusting. Even their own workers said they were weird.
For a place called the Salsa Room they played very little salsa and almost no bachata. Honestly the music sucked, lots of reggaton, merengue and other. And the DJ had serious ADHD: they never played a full song, only 30 second snippets and poor transitions. The floor was fairly empty all night and everyone headed for the exits by 1230
This place sucks, but this is Virginia and this is what you can expect wherever you go. This is not NYC. Music and DJs suck. $15 for a beer with 20% gratuity. They shouldnt call themselves Salsa Room cause they play mostly bachata.
This was such a great experience. The instructors are very talented and good at breaking down the steps for you. I really appreciate the effort they took to make sure this was a respectful, safe and fun environment. As a woman, I felt extremely safe and respected here. Even though I had no idea what I was doing and it was obvious, I had the best time.
As loyal customer, Im disappointed in todays experience. Despite consistently paying $10 for Virgin Mojitos, suddenly we were WAY over charged. Even after confirming with bartenders the right price for a virgin mojito, our server, S, insisted on the higher amount and threatened the nice bartenders for confirming the correct price. This sudden change, coupled with false claims of always charging so much for a virgin mojito , reflects poorly on the service. The decline in both pricing transparency and customer respect is disheartening. This place is good for dancing, the classes are okay, and music is good, but that’s it, don’t waste your money getting a VIP table with terrible servers. This concern goes beyond the price; its primarily about the unprofessional and disrespectful service experienced, but it is getting way overpriced for what they offer.
I want to comment on one of my bad experiences a long time ago we celebrated birthdays of family and friends we have always had a very good experience with serving and attending we are a very calm group and we visited this place for the last 4 years it has always been very good this time we had a very bad experience with the security man (unfortunately l don’t have his name) but this person doesnt have any professionalism to be a guard. He was always complaining to us for no reason. I complained to the manager and he wasnt very helpful either. Maybe it doesnt matter but it will be a place. We will not return. We are a group of 15 people and we have always spend very good money, bad bad experience this time
I dont know why the waiteress charged me EST $35 extra last Friday. I will go and talk with the manager, she took at least half an hour to close my tab, even she brought me someone elses credit card. Unbearable.
They nickel and dime you on everything there. Coat check is $5 and they were usually not there watching your stuff. Bathroom you are expected to tip a few bucks. Also 20% gratuity on all drinks including water. Sparkling water was more than $6 when I was there.Honestly, I strongly don’t recommend this place.
Very overpriced! They nickel and dime you for everything. $5 coat check. $20 cover charge. Mandatory 20% gratuity on everything including water which is already $5 each time. Not worth it at all
Not sure why all the bad reviews. I’ve never had an issue from bouncers, cashiers or bartenders. Drinks are pricey and gratuity is added but the people who attend are nice, most women will dance with you. There is a large social dance presence, so if you’re going to meet a woman it might be a little more challenging. But great place.
It’s good crowd for older generation. It’s my favorite place in DMV. Only salsa bachata or moregene music. Drinks are expensive. 2 shots of tequila for 50$
I went to the Salsa Club on a Friday and it was a great experience. I got tickets off Eventbrite it was free entry before 11pm. It was a group of 4. When we got in the door and checked in we were offered a table for $40 which was a great price.Once we got in the set up was very airy and they had a very good set up of tables and couches. One thing I liked was at the tables they had electronic menus as well. Once we got our drinks the general manager Damien actually came by and offered us a bigger seating arrangement with no extra charge. Which we greatly appreciated and it was just great customer service after the night we had prior to coming there. The staff was friendly and the people there were great. Everyone just wanted to have a good time everyone was smiling it was just great to be out. The music was great as well. I went to the salsa club when you were located in arlington and I like this set up better.I will definitely be back! Thank you for a great experience.
I have always loved the Salsa Room. Amazing music and great dancing. I do miss the old location as the dance floor is a lot smaller at the Tyson location. Some class instructors are amazing, others are not. The instructors that aren’t so great suffer from class management, calling steps/moves, being consistent, and loud enough for all to hear. Makes for a bad experience. Some instructors also handle couples differently during class where they force them to be outside of the rotation circle and basically miss the lesson they paid for if they don’t want to rotate. Everyone seems to do rotations differently and it’s always funny to watch people struggle to figure it out. Would probably better if they unanimously agreed to do the same direction and same lead or follow rotate. The good instructors are just great at everything. 100%. It seems like those are the nights when it isn’t a Ladies Free night. That’s valid for the experience you get. You just have to go enough times and watch their social media to know when the good instructors will be there 😂The overall atmosphere is a dance club. There are good people, bad people, creeps, sketchy people, professionals, newbies, etc. just learn, have fun, figure out who is who, and be safe!
Nice place for a night out. Drinks are more on the expensive side. Nice ambiance. I appreciate the diversity and the no drama atmosphere. Mixed level crowd when it comes to dancing.
My server was just AMAZING. Kind, patience, empathic and I can continue but Shea was the kind of person you want to find when youre hanging out with only girls. I cant remember exactly her name I think it was falonia or something like that. Girls if you are a party of girls you want her as a server. ❤️
Very disturbing to the two neighbor apartment buildings. We hear ur music and ur subwoofer from Wednesdays to weekend.
A great place for social dancing. I’ve always felt safe and had fun here. The lessons are good and staff helpful. We especially like Wednesday and Friday bachata nights.
I have never been so thrown back, drinks during the night life is over priced. $10 for a can of beer…$21 for a single shot of patron?? Not even a double shot. And I’m not just saying this to be transhful, I do have the receipt to prove it.The atmosphere was great, no complaints but man..that’s such a let down for drinks.I don’t see myself going there again.
This place will nickel and dime you! They dont communicate up front about what things cost, theyll take your card, theyll get sassy... all after already having you pay $20 just to get in. When I complained about the lack of communication about high costs and asked how they can run a business like this, one of the workers told me that this place has been in business for quite some time and they know what theyre doing. Nah, they dont. Theres a reason they couldnt support the more attractive Arlington location despite no competition...
I don’t know what other people have done to receive bad service here but i have always had a good time at this place. The staff has always been nice and welcoming, djs always friendly, security have always been cool and the people coming out to dance have been very friendly compared to crowds you see at other clubs. Wouldn’t really recommend the food here but drinks are good. Bar tenders have been very generous when serving. Those complaining about not being let in because of shorts or other clothes, keep in mind that there is a dress code and it’s strictly enforced. Each club has a right to require a dress code. Heck even ultra bar has a strict dress code 😂, if you want to wear shorts go to public bar. Also complaints about certain life styles, not every establishment has to cater to you. Go find one that is more for your crowd.
I booked a table for 10 for my moms birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Booking was convenient and they were prepared for our arrival. We went on a Friday, arrived for the first bachata class, and stayed after midnight. There was a diverse crowd and everyone we met was friendly and fun. We will definitely return!Note - if you book a table, only buy drinks through your server. It wont count towards your table drinks if you order at the bar.
Overpriced. There’s a $20 cover for a place that’s not crowded. The drinks are overpriced. They don’t have water. Only $6 water bottles.
I orderd 3 drinks, paid one tab but the restaurant used my credit card for another tab. I contacted them, left my information to the manager, no one called me back.
I went there on a Thursday night when I came for work in Washington D.C. for a few days and it was a fun place to be at. The dance floor was very spacious. You dont need a dance partner to go with if you are just one person. I went there on my own. The teachers will put all guys and girls in a circle, you will switch to a new partner every once a while. The moves are easy to follow because the teachers were very patient and they broke the whole dance into multiple small steps. Anyway, have fun at this place !
Very bad experience, the dj is terrible, a few years ago it was great, its a shame that everything changes for the worse
This place is absolutely terrible, and discriminatory. We waited 30 minutes for entry because my date had kaki shorts on. The security guard stated they don’t allow shorts for men, and he needed to send a picture to his manager for approval. But women can wear whatever they want. While we waited the same security guard allowed individuals with shorts, ripped jeans, and all sorts of undressed attire into the venue. I believe the security guard and establishment are bias and colorist towards black people. We asked to speak with a manager whose name was apparently “Chris” and he was extremely rude, unprofessional, and told me to “shush”. That’s the furthest thing from having good customer service. Considering we were coming there to patronize their business and have a good time. I checked their website and no where on it stated a “ no shorts” policy for men. It’s the middle of July. The place was empty too, they should have been begging to come in. On top of the poor customer service and racist staff, The Salsa Room is in an awful location in Tyson’s. I will never return here and I encourage others to do this same.
If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. Extremely rude management. The bartender tried to overcharge us for drinks. She had added an extra $150 to the tab. When we asked for an explanation of the bill, the bartender acted lost and called her manager. Instead of cordially assisting the situation, the manager escalated the problem. He claimed we were being aggressive and had us removed. He used derogatory language and proceeded to put his hands on us. In no way, shape, or form were my family members and I posing a threat. Extremely disappointed to say the least. Very unprofessional. Never coming back. Please be careful if you do decide to visit the place for yourself. We had a section and our hostess Beatrice was kind and attentive. Sadly, the management is a total disaster.
This place was amazing, for the grown and sexy beautiful women everywhere, the dance lesson instructors were amazing broke down the basic steps very well , music was great food and drinks on point , dress to impress and bring your game and dancing shoes and tear up the dance floor type of night
So, its summer and they dont allow a nice pair of shorts and collared short sleeve shirt to get in. Crazy. The inside is nice, a good place with a good dj and best of all good circulation, lol. Not too hot like some other salsa clubs. Other than being turned around while wearing a nice outfit, no problems. Cover is 20.
Music is great, love the vibe. However, I purchased two drinks, double shot vodka and sodas for a total of..... $90!!! Including a mandatory 20% tip. Bartender was as kind as she could be but said she didnt like the prices either. Im posting this hoping that if enough people complain, management will change this ridiculous pricing.
I was super excited to check this place out as I heard very good things about this place from several people! I wanted to give it a chance despite the bad reviews……Unfortunately, the reviews people have left are not wrong.GREAT VENUE & GREAT DANCING MUSIC however:1. Drinks & hookah are overpriced! My friend asked for a cup of water and they refused her. She needed to purchase a $6 water bottle- that’s ridiculous!2. The security guards are extremely rude! My friend got kicked out and they would not let her know why. They grabbed her by the arm being super aggressive, as if she was a big threat. NO NEED! I kindly and politely asked them what was the reason. They didn’t even acknowledge that I was speaking to them. I repeated myself a few times and finally he says “step outside and we can talk”We finally get outside and they still didn’t want to tell us the reason and told us to have a good night. I was extremely upset at that point!Unfortunately, it’s a place that now I’m skeptical about recommending or even consider going back.
I should have read reviews before booking my son’s birthday party at this place, I was looking for a decent place to spend time with friends, so disappointed. As soon as they have an opportunity they will over charge you, when we asked for a detailed receipt they immediately called security. The manager was treating my son, claiming that he had his information and his address. Please make sure you understand how serious and legal situations can get when you threatening someone. Now this review is public and my friends, family and everyone who reads this review will be my witness of any harmful activity towards my son or my family.Cecilia Rosa
F••k this place. I’ve NEVER been treated so BADLY in my life.Security took my jacket, car/house keys & phone from our reserved table; I begged them to return my things but the security men all treated me very aggressively! They ran away from me & kicked me out club, in the BLISTERING cold!!I couldn’t go home or call the police!I was mortified and crying for help, no one cared to help! After about an hour of walking aimlessly, to find help, and eventually get home (since all of my items were taken by security)a tall heavyset, dark skinned African American security guard drove up to me and dangled my items in front of me, as if I were some sort of criminal. All he had to do was look at my ID but they were treating me like I stole something. I can’t believe this happened to me!! I’ve never been treated so bad in my life.
I have frequented this place both in Arlington and Tysons. I pay the 20$ cover (higher for special events), tip the coat check, tip the bathroom person, tip the bartenders, always buy food and expensive drinks for me and whoever I am with, and pay to reserve tables. I have never dealt with consistently aggressive management at an establishment. I have seen maybe a rude cashier or a rude server here or there at other places but management? Wow. Especially aggressive to a frequent customer who spends lots of money there every time he goes and is friendly with everyone. Afraid to go back. The recent issue (not the first), I reserve a table they try to take the table later in the night and I have to show a receipt for the table to save the table I paid money for. Problem solved. Few weeks later SAME situation happens only instead, I show the receipt and this time the manager says I am having an attitude by telling him I reserved the table and by showing him the receipt. Kicks me off the table I paid for and threatens to kick me out for showing him my receipt. No apology, no other table given. Calls me respectfully explaining I paid for the table and showing my receipt proving I purchased the table attitude and threatens to kick me out. I just respectfully closed my tab, tipped coat check, tipped the awesome bartender, shook hands, gave hugs and left of my own accord. Management has a known history for being too eager to kick people out so I didnt want to risk staying another minute. There are too many Latin dance establishments in the area for me to risk having another bad night at this one.
We were treated really well by the bouncers at entry and exit. The instructor was amazing, she built upon each step gradually and it made sense compared to other classes Ive taken. The music was super loud but my only negative was we think the alcohol in the bottles is actually cheap, low tier stuff. We both felt really sick the next day after only 2 drinks. They also didnt have limes and offered simple stuff. Well definitely go again but well drink ahead l beforehand.
The food, specifically Salteña /Empanada was horrible. Service at the front door DISORGANIZED and Still had make a line in spite of paying for a $500 Table for 10 people! We were promised a VIP Line separate than the regular line. Nope did not get that! Atmosphere was just ok, THE SEATS AT OUR VIP table was nlt for 10 PEOPLE and the couches were old and ripping apart!
I wish google reviews would allow you to give them a 0 star. This place is a JOKE. They want to act like that this is a club in Miami. The security guard is allow to pick who can enter the club. They wouldnt allow my boyfriend in because his jeans were distressed, however so were mine and I was allow to go in! They allow another man in with cargo shorts though lol. I wish I would of read these reviews before attending this place. Now reading these reviews, I am happy we werent allow in sounds like this place thinks theyre in Miami and theyre scammers! Security guard was very rude making unnecessary belittling comments. Save your self your time and money and do not go here.
This is a nice, laid back place to dance salsa and bachata. Security and service personnel were all friendly. The floor could use refinishing so that it’s more spin friendly, but overall a very cool little spot to dance.
They discriminate by indiscriminately adding a 20% tip different peoples checks. There are no signs posted informing you that theyre going to force you to pay an additional 20% on top of their extremely overpriced drinksMen always pay $20 cover at the door, no cover for women before 11:00 p.m. on Friday but women and men pay a cover Saturday. And if you want to sit at a table and order food and drinks, theyre going to try to charge you about another $40 for a table on top of the overpriced drinks and food.Restrooms are usually kept clean because both the mens and ladies rooms have attendance.Large dance floor, before 10:00 p.m. theyre usually having dance lessons.Usually a good crowd on Saturday nights.
Highly anti-lgbt. Depending on which bar you go to, they add the tip, without telling you, so it seems a little deceitful and in a way, stealing from the customer. If I could rate the interaction that I first felt from the doorman, it should be below 0, because of how judgemental and condescending the guy with the tattoos is. Very telling of the people representing this establishment. Im not sure what customer service background you guys try to uphold with your workers, but its not very welcoming. One person solely was discriminating because I was transgender. I told the doorman my pronouns and he laughed. I tried to speak to a manager and could not speak to Dee or the other manager on duty. Instead the doorman laughed and joked about something with whatever manager was on duty before letting us in. Not a very welcoming place when it comes to LGBT, considering i had already paid for a table, so i still was not respected on that level. Cant believe i spent money on a table. I do not recommend for birthdays or anything because im not sure how they will treat people they personally dont like for no reason at all. Will be reporting for discriminating behaviors to the better business bureau. #antilgbt #antitrans #discrimination
Upside: A LOT OF FUN! The person teaching the dances was upbeat, fun, and interacted with everyone! The dancing during and after was non-stop! Everyone was respectful (no one was pushy or handsy), the staff for the most part is attentive. The downside: The staffs uniforms are degrading and distasteful. The way the staff is forced to dressed is disgusting. Security is REALLY aggressive, Ive never been yelled at before for waiting to enter a building like I had twice that night (once outside as I waited for the rest of my party to catch up, and again before going inside, waiting for the person with the ticket to give to the bouncer). The drinks are WAY WAY WAY WAY overpriced! (for example: I ordered 2 shots of Titos vodka - total $38! The price of a handle - A HANDLE of Titos is $36!)Anyway - would I go again - absolutely! Will I drink - definitely not!
The last time I paid drink prices like this was at the Cannes film festival, but there it was actually worth it
I left my drivers license and debit card at the club while I visited 1.5 months ago. There is no way to get in touch with them unless you are there in person, which is not possible because I was visiting from NYC. They will not pick up the phone, nor respond to voicemail, and when the bouncer told my friend to reach out to their Instagram account, no one responds after repeated attempts. My drivers license and debit card have been stranded at the club for the last 1.5 months, and unless I go back to in person, it’ll stay stuck there.
Will start with the pros, music, ambiance, lights, dancing!Cons is pretty much everything else, outrageous prices for water ($6 bottle), alcohol ($15 shots).Had an issue with security that wouldnt let me in at first since my shoes were not Yeezys I kid you not. Manager had to come and let them know I was dressed well. If you are a woman, this is a great spot, as a guy maybe think twice.
Used to be a regular since they were in Arlington but ever since they moved to Tysons the place has been going downhill. The cover and drinks are ridiculously expensive and not worth the price. The music lately has been really boring (how is it that they advertise bachata night but play like 80% salsa?). There are more affordable/nicer options in DC and I can see this place going out of business soon if they dont do something to keep people coming back. They started charging $20 cover during the pandemic but once they had a taste for it they never went back to charging reasonable prices if anything at all.
For New Years celebration, they charged us $100 plus fees for just a top table next to the bathrooms and under the stairs, the worst table, lol, they said admissions tickets were $40 dollars each person in addition. When we showed up, admissions tickets were $60 per person. Absolutely nothing include. Not even a dumb New Years sign or anything for the celebration. Drinks are expensive. A bottle of wine from Walmart ($15bucks maybe less) costs $65 in the club. It was definitely Cheap wine. Service is awful. Music is ghetto, DJ sucks, security guards are mean and even when you are nice to them, they are rude and impolite! So, we (4people) spent almost 400 dollars just to access to the club. The money we spent on drinks is not include. This place is not worthy. They charge like if they were in Las Vegas, go somewhere else! We really tried to ignore the bad reviews of this place, but this place is worst than what people says.
I have been with salsa room for a few years since they were in Arlington, I used to take pictures and short videos and send to my friends, last Wednesday I did take a few and the short guy who is the security boss I think stopped me and said I can’t take videos, I said I used to take and he immediately kick me out, when I went on Friday, the security guard stopped me and he came to talk to me and I said you need put a sign saying no photo or filming, and I said I won’t take anymore but he said I had had an attitude and I will be blocked, I feel he needs me beg him for letting me in, I won’t kneeled on him. Their drinks are very overpriced recently, I ordered a majito which cost 18$, so if you want to give a tip, a 20$ bill seems not enough to cover a drink.
NO, not good place at all, 20$ cover, the drinks are adulterated, is something else’s except REAL cocktails, no wander these place is empty, it was a mistake go there, don’t waste your time and your money, plus the DJ needs change he’s job, not good at all!Sorry, but I just honest.
I love the bachata classes they offer on Fridays!!!
Its really sad for me to write this review.Ive always tried to enjoy this new place, but they even dont have consideration with people who always support their business.I never felt so disrespected. And its sad how with a small gesture they lose a lot of clients. Fridays are not what they used to be anymore.I hope the upper managment realize that people are leaving for how they treat their customers
Watch your tabs! I’ve been charged for drinks and tips that I did not authorize. My friends and I are often ignored by the women bartenders who would rather serve men first. Annoying.Getting a table here is a joke too. My party and I never got through even half our bottle because our server was never there! It got to a point that we had to split up and look for her, and then also call the manager.Arrogant people, terrible customer service, and ridiculously overpriced.Go somewhere else.
Dont go here. This place is run by some sort of dysfunctional elitist chaotic mafia. My friend is visiting from another country so I called TSR and asked about the entry identification requirements. I specifically asked if a foreign drivers license would be acceptable and I was told in no uncertain terms yes absolutely! Foreign license works, come on in, women get free entry until 11 so just arrive before then!. So, my friend and I walked up, presented our IDs and the outside staff rejected her ID saying they require a passport. I mentioned that I had called and asked, was told this type of ID would be accepted, and that we had driven an hour. No one cared and although her ID was valid, they refused us entry. However, we watched as several over people used foreign IDs (not passports) to enter. The staff was rude and disrespectful. This is completely unacceptable and discriminatory. There are plenty other lounges that are inclusive and provide a high level of customer service but not TSR Tysons. Please take your business elsewhere.
Took several friends to celebrate a Saturday night birthday party and that will be the last time we go. Zero stars would be more appropriate. BTW, they should change the name to Bachata/Reggaeton Room. This place is a misnomer to mislead genuine salsa dancers.I had visited the old SalsaRoom venue (in its previous location) and it is a sharp contrast of what it was. The cover and promoter seem to be just as bad or worse; however, very much disappointed by the new owner.1. The cover charge policy essentially changes by the hour. Women are supposed to enter free, but there was an excuse given when we showed up of a special visiting DJ which required EVERYONE to pay. Spoiler alert: same Peruvian DJ as before playing the same songs. Just a lie to get you to pay.2. Two of the girls we were there with were constantly and aggressively asked to dance after they repeatedly said, no thanks. Youll have to barricade people so the zombies dont attack.3. Some men there were taking too many sleazy liberties when dancing with strangers and had very little concept of respect. 1 girl was physically hurt due to bad spinning technique by some of the showboat dancers. Bring a brace if you are feeling adventurous.4. Drink prices are way high and even plastic water bottles (nothing fancy like Voss) are way way over priced. Youll lose money by just walking near the bar. Stay clear and just drink water from the hookas.5. Parking area is not well lit and available spaces are pretty far. Does not inspire safety.6. This place is just an insult to the Latino people. Dont patronize this place. Do you part.
Came here for the first time for the salsa class. My group and I got a table and I requested a cup of water from the sever. The server returned and said they don’t give cups a water. I was so confused because a place that serves alcohol should never deny a person water. I asked to speak with the manager John and he said if I don’t like it I can leave. I have never in my life experienced that type of treatment. I do not recommend this place. They need management that has more customer service skills.
Go to Greenhouse instead. Don’t waste your time or money at TSR!!Used to go to the salsa room in Arlington. Wasn’t the best then but it wasn’t the worst. Now, I think it might be the worst. Unfortunately I agree with the other one star reviews. Yes the place is not classy but you could’ve been OK if you lowered your expectations and went there when it was in Arlington. Now in Tysons location, They have a tighter security at the door then you have at the airport. Their customer service skills are just horrible at every level. They advertise that ladies areFree on Fridays but once you go there they tell you oh no it’s not free unless you register online. If you just show up thinking ladies are free to enter.... no you have to pay. The place is huge as it was in Arlington but it was not that crowded at all and they still make you lineup and wait outside in the rain for no reason. Done with TSR. Greenhouse is a much much better place with live music and amazing bartenders!!
I had a lot of fun. But let me keep it real, I am glad I read the reviews first though. The bouncers are rude. Make sure you call or ask about the dress code policy, men cannot wear shorts or sneakers, but then inside saw lots of men in sneakers. It cost my husband $15 and I was free before 11pm on a Saturday. The bouncers and a patron were full on arguing in the middle of our transaction. We got in, had a great lesson. Its a bit fast paced and crowded, but the instructor was wonderful and patient. Drinks are around $11 for basic. Only bring cash! I heard about too many card scams. NO Seating Area at all indoors, you have to go on the patio. Hot af in there too. But soooooooo much fun. I learned a few moves in one night. Will return
I loved it. Went with my husband (date night) was so much fun. Ladys free till 11. Good security. Learning classes (for fun) on the dance floor with instructor around 9ish was bachata night last night. Everyone was nice. Drinks were a little high (2 drinks for 25$) ....but overall just loved it.... 👍😊
Racist spot. Management was disrespectful to my woman. $20 cover & weak expensive drinks. If you blk dont go there. Apparently , management dont want blk folks there.
The place was fine but they should be embarrassed to charge people $6 for a bottle of water, $15 for a glass of red wine. Basic wine. Ask prices before you buy because they will rip you off!!
Dont waste your time. Watch your tabs! The bar WILL overcharge, and then they will add large tips or hide it among multiple drinks. It happens quite frequently. You been warned.Place is filled with low quality security personnel. Security is very unprofessional and rude, its no wonder they work here. The most professional and courteous worker is the bathroom guy who has some actual class.
I keep trying to go to this place and it is always rude bouncers, girls at the door and servers and bartenders. Servers and bartenders will always try to charge you more than the drinks you drink so do not use credit cards and pay as you go. Also, most of the time the tip is included and they do not tell you. Leave your drink half-full and its gone. Especially if its an expensive drink. They seem to cater to people who are not even buying drinks just because they know them. I tried to go yesterday after a long time and the cover was high and the new bouncer is even more rude than previous ones. Drive a little across the bridge to no cover places in DC. Definitely a one star just for the great music and floor.
BEWARE! of your tabs guys. The bartender added a 20% Gratuity fee automatically to my bill without proper signage at the bar. I ordered 3 drinks and was charged with a $8 fee on top of my bill. At the bottom of the receipt they even ask for an additional tip which I refused. It was just me, NOT a table nor big parties. Also you get hit with a 20 dollar cover fee at the door. Not worth it in my opinion. But its entirely up to you.
My first time here, I will be purchasing my VIP pass.Awesome music, great ambience. If you read the previous reviews you would not come here, I did it anyway to see for myself.Great experience I am glad I did.The managers, owner and staff are awesome.Great drinks and awesome salsa and bachata dancers.
This place is overprice, do nit pay with a debit of credit card . We split the bill in 4 and they over charge one of the cards with 1/2 of what the total bill was. !!! be careful... Never again regardless how good the music is they steal your money....
Bad experience. We arrived at 10:57, cold and raining, no line, and they let all the girls in first. Didn’t explain that there’s no cover before 11, so they let all the girls (some of our girlfriends) in our group in first, waited 3 minutes, then let us in and tried to charge us cover. We would have easily spent $50 at the bar, but we didn’t have cash to pay $15 cover and the place was empty. Not worth it and felt like they were just trying to steal our money.
Best place to dance and mingle. Respectable and fun atmosphere. Drinks are expensive, so drink less and dance more.
Not the same salsa atmosphere from the old place in Arlington. They still charge a cover fee these days, ridiculous. The bar charges automatically 20% gratuity on the drinks! so basically you are tipping the girls for letting you see them half dressed. This is not a strip club. Music is not as great as other places in town, it should be rebranded as BAchata Room instead.
This place is awesome for advanced or novice dancers. The crowd here is amazing, so willing to teach people. I love the 8pm classes- Im horrible at salsa but the classes help a lot. The atmosphere is great. Some of the bouncers are rude and I know they have a job to do but customer service should be a training they go through. The bar tenders are super, so personable and friendly. Absolutely recommend anyone to try it!!
Any club that only sells bottled water needs to receive a poor review. Im sorry but people need to be able to hydrate without having to pay for it. The club already charges a 15$ cover, 3 times what you pay elsewhere and has the nerve to charge for water. Ridiculous. Also, your club is spacious and decent but dont get excited, the place isnt that great.
They made it seem like they were going to post my birthday dance online and never did. Disappointed in that respect, but overall, this is still a good place to dance salsa and bachata. Just be cautious if hosting a birthday here. It can be disorganized (even if you pay ahead) and communication between promoter and staff seems to be off. If you dont mind dealing with that, then I would say its worth it for the dancing alone.
It is sad how the doorman decides to not allow people to come in based on the shoes. I was not even wearing sneakers but was turned away even after he asked me about my shoes. Nowhere is there a dress code. The doorman was on the fence about my shoes and had to ask me about them. Which tells you that they were not terrible. Not to mention I have been coming every Friday and Saturday for 6 straight weeks and was allowed entry with the same shoes. Oh and the doorman then tells me that maybe later on I could get in. LATER ON? Are you serious? Whats different later on than at that moment? Oh lets not forget that the lessons are supposed to start at 8:15pm but the doors are never opened on time. It is sad that there is no consistency or any work ethic. I guess the club doesnt care for accountability.
Very nice place to take dance classes. After the dance class is over the D.J opens the floor with all kinds of different music for different Latin dances. Its very fun and the food is great. Will definitely go back again. I would recommend it for couples as well as groups of people.
Zeroooo stars!!! The Management here is very unprofessional! The Hispanic bald gentleman is very rude his staff is incompetent as they don’t know how to count & give correct change back!!! 1st & last time visiting this place.!!! The lady that is the cashier needs to get math classes so she knows how to give proper change back! Who knows how many people they have stolen from! Do not go there!!!
I am never ever coming back into this club. The staff is being so disrespectful and the security guard. Black guy with the beard and glasses took my drink and trash is in the front of me. They being so mean and so disrespectful.
Jennifer, one of the bartenders, is quite pleasant and friendly. The dance lessons are fun and the instructor is quite energetic. The patrons who are more experienced dancers are kind to those of us that have just started learning.
Rudest and most unprofessional customer service ever. Even when booking the highest priced table, they don’t care to treat you right. You have a better customer service experience buying a gallon of milk at Safeway.Don’t waste your money on this rusty warehouse. The general manager Rosie would be better off working at the DMV with her attitude.
Its a hit or miss. Most of the time a miss. Nothing special. I went to see if my friend was inside because her phone has died. The chick at the door and bouncer were very rude and wanted to make me pay just to go check if she was there. Very rude people at the door all the time. Drinks are over priced. A jack and coke will cost you like 13 bucks and a long island like 17 bucks. You have to pay to get in. All the time no exceptions.Update:You need to do something about your bouncers - the girl at the door collecting money too. Everyone who works the door has been so rude to me and my friends. I went yesterday to look for my friend to see if she was inside - her phone had died and could not find her at the metro. I told the girl i would leave my id and phone - i just wanted to make sure my friend was there. The bouncer came to me in a very rude tone and said YOU CAN SEE FROM THERE BUT THATS AS CLOSE AS YOURE GONNA GET IF YOU DONT PAY. I was going to pay, but I wanted to make sure my friend was there and that nothing had happened to her.If you want to increase your business or keep your business try a different approach ---- how about being more polite to customers.I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone visiting town.
Terrible. The door man and the front desk lady acted like complete garbage. I was invited by dancers to check out the their local dance community. I didnt mind leaving my bag behind the front door until I came out to check on my bag and politely asked the front desk staff where the bathroom was. They seemed drunk or high on something and acted extremely hostile.I politely informed them that I just came outside to check my bag and they yelled at me and told me to get out!I still had my stuff inside the venue including my credit card. I couldnt say bye to my friends and had to text a friend who invited me to let her know that I got kicked out for no reason but she didnt get the message until after theyve already left.Update: Now calling the bank to cancel my credit card....and I guess my stuff is lost or still inside.I will never step foot in this venue again and will make sure everyone knows in our dance community and on social media what happened. And from reading other reviews it looks like this is a consistent issue with their front door staff.
This place sucks all around. Bouncers, bar, mgmt and food all are terrible.
Their business plan seems to be to extract as much money as possible from the customers starting with a $10 cover, $7 basic beer, NO TAP WATER, and a very unfriendly staff. We felt as if we are a bother to them. There are much better venues, with friendlier staff elsewhere.
The place used to be a classy place grown and sexy folks could go have a nice dance. Last night I was disgusted when my waitress walked up to us in a thong body suit and no pants. PUT SOME PANTS ON! I’m never going back to this sleazy trashy whole again.
First of all, dont waste your time if you want to dance salsa. They mostly play bachata. They have rude bouncer on the entrance who wont let you bring a thermos with water, will try to touch your things in a bag to see if youre hiding something, instead of waiting for you to show him. They have people at the restrooms, giving you toilet paper. The place is hot (and it was 50F outside), the furniture is old. Nice light show. But will not go again.
I feel extremely compelled to express my deeply regret of going to this place. The web side states that they open at 7:30 pm. We arrived a little before that to be able to enjoy some salsa lessons before a general dance. We waited until 7:30 and they didnt open. The bartender arrived at 8 as well as others servers and when I ask at what time can we come in they say when the manager arrives and that varies from 8:15 and up...We sat outside in a small waiting area they have. A very well dress man but contradicting his unmannerly, rudeness, a boorishness deminor came out and look at us with harshness and told us that the place is close and we need to leave the waiting area and wait in the sidewalk. I was offended after waiting for more than 30 minutes individual and ask him: are you the manager? he said yes...I couldnt imagine if that under educated person was the manager what can we expect inside! I told him his web side says their open at 7:30 and if not they need to fix that misleading information and at least be polite, excuse himself for the mistakes and let us in if they will be opening in 5 minutes at 8:30! that is the least he could do if he understood basic marketing and a good customer service. Contrary, he gave signs of ignorance, intolerance. classless and poor management in a situation that an experience manager could solve easily and keep everybody happy.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE..if you are a person with high expectations of respect as a human been, these is not the place for you. I rate this place as zero and pray that anybody that decides to assist here will never experience this level of treatment.
I like the bachata lessons. And before entering the main door, I respect the high security but not to prevent people from having they own water with them! The trainers are very good and make us happy but most of the guys who come to learn couldnt understand the dance as a dance not hugging or being so close to women who meet for the first time. Is this the social dance?! The guys should learn how to treat women better. And to ask for permission by asking or by the body language from the women, I thought I will meet open minded community here but not as expected. I would love to continue the lessons but I will not.
This place really disappointed me with the type of bachata music that they play. I went on a Wednesday night which is bachata night and they really only played sensual bachata which is much more like ballet than anything. They should play more traditional bachata and not just sensual bachata. Also the drinks are overpriced.
Great dance spot.Im new to the dance scene and this area in general, The salsa room was definitely a great experience. The classes in the beginning are a perfect intro for a novice like me, already made new friends and the dance instructor Orlando invited me for his classes next week.Cant wait!!
Great salsa and bachata lessons with a fun free dance time afterwards.
This place is wack.Won’t give water without paying $6. My friend said a woman in the bathroom wouldn’t give her soap unless she paid her a tip. Are you kidding me? Soap? In a pandemic? What a stain on northern VA this place is.Also, if we came with a partner, let us learn the class with our partner.
For me this place went downhill. I went two years ago it was rustic now is very well set up and decorated but the waitresses are like playboy bunnies which is not necessary. They allow to smoke hooka inside. And the music not good. I wouldn’t go back.
I paid for reservations. Yet I have to wait in a line that isnt moving...as if we needed to feel special for eventually being allowed in.The assistant manager fixed a small issue we had at first with our reservation.5 stars overall due to great environment inside.
Huge dance floor with a good floor. Good variety of dancers with some being really good. The night I went they played two salsa songs, two merengue (sometimes urban/electronic) and two Bachata songs and then repeated that pattern. This is a perfect mix and I absolutely loved it. Also love that the DJ mixed in some modern merengue which really gets everyone excited and partying. My only issue was at midnight they stopped the pattern they had been doing and started playing more cheesy English club classics. I was immediately turned off and ready to leave. Sorry but disco doesnt so it for me. They could have switched to a more merengue/Bachata focused mix of they wanted things to be less formal and get the party started. Even a house/merengue/reggaeton mix would have been great. Leave out the oldies or just keep playing salsa.
The place is amazing. Huge dance floor and a good variety of music. Great crowd. There are only a couple of issue, its hot inside especially during the summer time and the cover charge is inconsistent.
Upper floor is very hot temperature wise. Not sure if AC is not working there. Please make it sensual bachata and can charge a $5 more. Keep it sensual.
This is a great place for fun, salsa and bachata classes. The atmosphere is friendly, no pressure. Love it.
This place has the worst customer service. The greeter was extremely rude and condescending. The music is mediocre at best. The drinks are overpriced and low quality. This is the place for you if you want a disappointing night.
They charge 20% gratuity automatically. And still asks you for additional tips. They also added drinks we didn’t order to our bill, and it took forever for us to wait to talk to the waitress. Very bad service
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. It was my 1st and last time to this overrated place and I only went because a friend of mine was having her going away party there on a Wednesday night. I got there late around 12:30 am, paid $10 to get in then tried to dance and here came my 1st disappointment, the dance floor is so dirty and sticky you can hardly move on it and if you are one of the dancers who like some sliding in their moves forget it its not happening there or you gonna hurt your knees. My 2nd disappointment happened when I needed to make a phone call just after 30 mins of being there at 1 oclock so I decided to step away from the noise and on the way out I got a stamp at the door to be able to get back in, just 10 mins then Im trying to go back in then I was surprised with a very disrespectful bouncer at the door telling me I cant go back inside, I tried to explain to him very politely that I just got here from a long distance for my friend going away party and paid my cover and was just making a phone call and I just walked out right in front of him not even 10 mins ago and heres my stamp and hes like it doesnt matter doors are closed but doors were wide open and the way he was talking to me I never experienced that before but I tried to stay calm and be professional about it, then by chance one of the people that work inside came by and the bouncer told him to deal with me and I was shocked he had the same response then a pretty lady came to the door smiling saying hi its me and of course they let her in then the guy looked at me very disgusted and told me ok you can go in. WHAT???? Ive never been treated in such a random disrespectful unprofessional way like what happened to me at this place. Dirty sticky place + rude disrespectful security + unprofessional management = HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Not worth it.
Didnt even get a chance to get in. I checked online to find out what the dress code was and couldnt find it anywhere. I called in for information and after several phone calls no one picked up, so I decided to show up. I decided to wear shorts because the heat even at night was intolerable and turned out shorts isnt part of their dress code. For someone like myself who doesnt go out often, especially dancing, it would have been nice to at least know how I should dress. I wasted money going there and back home and didnt even get a chance to enjoy it. I will give this place another try when I see they feel the need to update their info so their guests can obtain information as needed.
Rude Bouncers!!! They did not let me in because it was crowded....however ten people left and I asked if I can go in since my friends were there and he still said it was full. Very shady!!! I was told that the SALSA is great here but I couldnt tell because of the bouncer. Never going after feeling dismissed.
Mandatory charge for water? I am fairly certain that’s illegal; if not, it should be. $40 charge just to sit down on a weekend on top of the $20 per person charge for admission? Ridiculous. I’m not sure how this place was before moving to Tyson’s but gross business practices = 1 star. There are a hundred better places to spend your money in Northern Virginia. Shame.
Good music, large bar for dancing and moving around and outdoor patio to chill on when it gets too hot. $20cover on a Friday. Drinks were average price, but a good pour.
If I could give this place a zero I would. I asked the bartender what she recommends and she offered a margaritas as the first option. She didnt even shake the drink, I could taste the layer of tequila and sour mix. Then most of the night they played bachata. Also, the hostess and a manager kept asking to leave the table if I didnt open a tab, which I already asked if I could finish my first drink first. They were very persistent, rude and had a lack of customer service.
There are some comments about rude stuff but i am coming 2 times per week here i never received any rude behaviour from anyone. Stuff is very polite and this place rocks. If you love dancing nearly everyday of week free dance classes and party till 2.30am.
I dont know what happened to this place, still a good dancing ambiance but I left my license at the bar w my tab. They charged me, however when I try to make contact I got no response until the week after, by then I flew out w np license. I asked my sister to go get it for me during business hours and she wasnt allowed in unless they paid. Then they came out saying they didnt see no IDs yet they charged me
A Thief stole my long jacket last night and I asked for the manager to investigated but the manager refused to help me. The manager was nasty and he started threatening me not to come back to that place, just because I was asking for help. Like investigate more and look into the camera’s, just to see who actually stole the jacket.
Was here on a Thurs. The presocial class was well taught n fun. Most only beginners for social and the music was unreasonably loud and unenjoyable, a serious health hazard. Been dancing for more than 15 years in various cities and have not encountered anything this bad. Would not recommend for serious dancers
Since my first 2-visits there in February 2020 (before the shutdown), I love their music, meeting new people & especially taking bachata lessons from Stephanie and Mercedes. And now that I went to the new location, the place looks bigger then ever! Love it Love it Love it!!!!
Great place to dance during the week. Very spacious with lots of experienced salsa and bachata dancers. 3$ for a water and not sure how well its managed, but you can have a great time dancing the night away.
Last night, the room was very hot & the smoke made it feel even warmer. I believe the AC, if it was working, was not adequate for that size room. Although very good the music is always too loud! The salsa lesson was complicated but very well taught!
Awful place, dont go!I felt discriminated by the bouncers who let other foreign people get in with any other ID different than a passport but they were requesting it to me.Also they dont have any control of the number of people coming in which could result in a safety risk. The staff is super rude and corrupt, disgusting place!
The music wasn’t bad.. there weren’t many pros or really good dancers. They have no phone numbers to be contacted or any lost n found or any kind of care to visitors. I lost an item n struggled to reach them n left a message on Facebook but there was no response. I had to take the cost of the trip n visit them again but they denied to help n were so unfriendly. I don’t feel secured to visiting them again..
The bartender charger, whatever they want only for two drinks I pay almost $50 that is insaneI’ve been there since and it was cheaper not goingOver there anymore
Place was nice had a good time nice music and the environment was also good … the only reason hung that did not like is the charge $40.0 for you to get a table plus when I call dis ask if they had a restaurant full menu I was told yes but at the time of getting a table and seeing the menu it only was 4 thing cool in 2 or 3 different way but the place in general was good oooo and come early or find parking b a big Headache
HORRIBLE in every way... do not waste your time or money. Zero customer service skills. Drinks are no good and way over priced. People are made to wait outside and line up for no reason. And on top of all that you will be paying a cover charge!
The Salsa Room is horribly managed, and I only go there because I love to dance.a) The doormen are unpleasant, arrogant and never smile..b) The bar overcharges you if you use a credit card. Make sure to ask for the price first and pay in cash..c) The three owners have a webpage but never bother to answer anyones questions. They dont seem to care about their patrons..d) The dance floor has gone from bad to worse. They need to replace it.
This place is known as the Salsa room.Mandatory 4$ charge for water? Also they allow the instructor to wear baseball caps but not customers? They also allow all other times of hats except baseball hats.
If you love bachata this is the place for you. If you don’t like bachata like me, stay away from this place. I went to salsa room at midnight to celebrate my thirtieth birthday dancing salsa. Unfortunately there was no DJ and for 1 full hour they had a bachata only playlist. At 12:45am, I complained about the music and they said they will play two more bachata songs and then some salsa. The reality was that they played four more bachata songs until 1am. Then, finally at 1am, they played two not so good salsa songs and went back to playing bachata. At that point me and my friends decided to leave since we didn’t want to listen to another hour of playlist bachata.Cost of entrance: $15/personOverall impression: extremely disappointed. Conclusion: I won’t go back to this place.Recommendations: 1. change the name to Bachata room, instead of salsa room. 2. If there is a DJ he is supposed to mix different types of music until the place closes (2am).
Its one of the backbone of the salsa community back in the day, but now its trying to appeal to the mass a bit more. If you want a fun night with no hardcore dancers, then Friday and Saturdays are just for you. However, come on Wednesday for bachata and salsa on Thursday. The DJs are cool and approachable as long as yourent being an ass in requesting certain songs. Dance floor is bit uneven in certain spots, but shouldnt be a big deal if youre a beginner.
Friday evening was supposed to be baciata, the DJ put some hip-hop music…cmon…
DJ Tiguere is a teacher who motivates dance students through encouragement, clear instructions and a great sense of humor. There were about 40 people present for the beginner lesson and DC double that for the intermediate lesson. Friendly atmosphere and crowd.
Three friends and I tried to go one night to try it out but was told the cover charge to get in was $60. Either there was a private event (that the doormen couldve told us about) or we just werent the type of people they want in their club.
Very nice place for learning dance. I love Bachata and Salsa, more bachata. Can be dim lit that way that way it can be more pleasure to dance and they need to get their AC fixed. It suffocates when it is hot outside. and also a couple of fans in the patio. Very hot place after 11, when some take off their pnties
There is no salsa room, it is biggest lies on World. They only play bachata disrespecting all Latin communities. Who want’s just go out an be free to enjoy music like Salsa, merengue, bachata and why not a reguémonos as well. For me it is no,no go.there is no scape place. The bartender on the back end is perfectly good and professional. My respect to her
A great place to escape from the work week. You can pick up on some dance moves. The instructors are very knowledgeable and break the moves down. Drinks are a little on the steep side.
They need to stop Calling it the salsas room, cause they play more Bachata than any other genres of music. I usually goes on Friday with my wife and bachata is my favorite Latin music, but I’ll also love to here more salsa, merengue, cumbia etc The place is big enough to dance off those corona and you have nice crowds of people from all walks of life
The ambiance is nice. But lessons are now $10. The lessons are so awful they should still be free. The lessons are quite poor for any beginner to salsa. Because there are so many intermediates or experts who for some odd reason show up to the beginners class, instead of waiting until the intermediate class begins, the instructor moves too quickly. Thus, its impossible to learn anything. I would try Habana Village in Adams Morgan instead.
Front door guy was rude when we tried to enter. Entering the place smelled like someone just vomited. Some girl had a problem with her boyfriend of 10 years and their 4 kids but we arnt really sure what thats about.
Love the place, its a large room to dance, good for learning bachata. Good crowd, new people every week.
Great place to dance bachata, salsa, and all that other hip shaking good stuff! Nice atmosphere. Loads of sweaty men! Repeat comers so you see alot of the same folks monthly or weekly.
Its time to turn up the heat! Easy to find, with lots of parking nearby, this local salsa hot spot hits home with lots of regulars, plenty of lessons, and yummy food and drinks to match. If youre ready to go salsa dancing, you will find a large dance floor and a friendly atmosphere.
Used to love this place and been there a lot of times, but never coming back, one of the security guys said that I made THREATS against the DJ, ( the music was so loud that I wrote in my cellphone asking if he could change the music for a salsa or bachata - after 20 minutes of perreo.. and NO ONE was even dancing..) I said I still had the text , to prove him that I wasnt lying... then he said that I had been aggressive and violent the last weeks and was not allowed to come back anymore... my family was visiting so I hadnt been going for 1 MONTH!!! .. I went once the previous week , after they return to my country, and then the night of the PROBLEM because of a friends birthday celebration..I didnt know they had change saturdays to ONLY Bachata- Reggaeton nights.. and FINALLY , the guy ends with.... the things are as I said, and you cant do Nothing about that ...and ..I remember everyone that cant enter so dont try to come back .. what it was ridiculous, as one guy , who was expelled before and retain at the door until the police arrived to arrest him (for getting a girl drunk and then tried to touch/fondle her), was walking in, after showing his ID,.. what a great work remembering..🙄.. and I hear there are more entitled stories, of people that had bad experiences at this place...
Not the fanciest place but people looked like they were having a great time; Latinos always have a good time. I went outside for a smoke and the rude bouncer wouldnt let me back in. I had to leave my friends behind and go home.
I haven’t Been there but plan to visit soon ! I follow Bachata Dancers from Spain, And Argentina!! Also follow Ataca y la Alemana and Alex and Desarey from the USA! See you all soon! Saludos from Texas, USA!
Im recommend this place... Saturday is latin music very great 👍. Best night club to dance
The bartender will tip herself 20% on the credit card without your knowledge! My girlfriend paid cash for a beer which was 7$ dollars the bartender charged her $9 the bartender was including her tip 😱 I thought the tip was up to the customer! It’s not about the money, it’s the principle.
Figured Id try it because of the new name, lol.Name change thats it,oh and price increase.$20 per person entry fee,$40 for a table ,this place is a joke.it wont last just like I predicted about the other name .extremely loud music where its annoying.beers are $7 draft.not worth it, go elsewhere. And its mandatory you order your drinks threw waitress,no matter how long she hides in the back (20 minutes at a time).as per her seeing me coming from bar, needless to say I ignored her,as she did with us.
I came to this place thinking that I was going to enjoy my salsa dance ... the last thing you want to see is a place called the Salsa Studio ... and 95% of the entire time wasbachata nothing against Bachata but then change the name and peopleWho are actually taking the trip and the time to come to dance salsa won’t be expecting that ... seriously change the name and it won’t hurt ... on the good side drinks were affordable but the ac wasn’t working
Came here one night while at a conference. The dj was awesome and the floor space is very open! I cant dance but I had fun watching everyone else!
Very nice spot, but the drinks are pricey. Other than that, its a nice mature crowd.
Very disappointed, very expensive cover and regular music all night, unfortunately the dj was not the best. There’s places in DC without cover and good music, you should see that before charge 20 bucks for cover.
Love the environment, everyone here has a different Latin vibes . My point is that everyone here is so positive . Everyone seems happy and they enjoy what they do. They inside is lovely, it has a lot of lighting .
9years in the salsa scene & Always enjoy this locations staff & crowd- Wednesday are probably the heaviest, but Thursday Friday & Saturday are also all packed with lively music & wide ranging dancers
Management is racist dont go there! They find any excuse to turn black ppl away
This placed charged my card for an extra drink that i didnt buy and didnt receive. I was scammed.
That was amazing Friday night theyre asking you $20 cover charge where in Tysons corner last time there was begging you please coming in now they hold you by the door asking you for covered shorts we are the make them to do that Im not going back Im not going backbecause we are going there never again
Trash. Security is on dude control. Wouldn’t let me in on account of wearing sneakers, but other ppl already inside were wearing sneakers.
I like that they charge you $27 for a shot of black johnnie Walker.
Had an amazing experience with my birthday. Damien was very accommodating
HIORRIBLE. They have Bachata classes, but after that they play like 5-10% Bachata. DJ is HORRIBLE. Stay away!
With those review is better not to go with my friends. There is a better clubs in DC. Thank you
Trash service. There’s a lot better Latin clubs in the Dmv. These people don’t care about their customers.
Place is okay but very expensive for what they offer. The DJ was mediocre.
The music and crowd were awesome. It was an older crowd. The drinks were ok, $10 for a mixed drink.
Really good spot , but prices are insane. More than any top spot in DC area
Terrible staff service, they literally took the drink from my face. My first time and last time visit. They treat people like animals.
Great vibes for a ballroom, good amount of dancing space, and talented dancers. Ladies get in free before 11pm!
Good hookah service, decent table service.
The salsa classes are really fun and you can dance there after your class is over and get drinks.
Do pajama party once a month, shorts be allowed in summer, body paint too
If you have two dance floors, you should be able to take a drink from the first to the second. This is ridiculous.
The salsa room needs to change its name. They play primarily merengue and bachata. If youre looking for salsa go elsewhere.
This is the best place for salsa and bachata... Many great dancers come here. So much fun!
EXPENSIVE entrance fee. The cheapest is $10 and most of the times $20. $5 would be a reasonable price
This place is very nice. Dress to impress. Com
Good music for social dancing, 3 full service bars, and plently of seating. I go to the Salsa Room WEEKLY!
Amazing social dancing spot. Wish the parking situation was better
Good music for social dancing. I went here for the beginner lessons and the instructor kept it fun.
No line. Great dancers. $10 cover. Strong drinks.
Very spacious! Ask about their VIP cards to save money to get in. It can get costly without one!
The worst place in the DMV you even have to pay for WATER. Salsa room SUCKS
The bartender was great! Quick service and good music. I highly recommended 🤩
This is dumb, they don’t let you go downstairs If you buy a drink upstairs
Great place for dance!!! Alot salsa!!! Merengue and bachata ❤❤❤... finally a place where you can dance decently!
Salsa room was great!!! Nice adult fun place, friendly people, great music and dancing.
Go to Public Bar in DC instead. Its free and has better music.
Good salsa and bachata lessons, excellent open dance at 9:30 on Saturdays.
Didn’t like it at all, if you don’t know people it is hard to find someone to dance.
I love the salsa and bachata classes here. The atmosphere and staff are awesome
Love this place. The men are respectful and always willing to teach you how to dance.
Really great. First time going to a club... soooo loud. Other than that it was great.
Terrible club. The staff is disrespectful and shows zero appreciation for their costumers.
The Salsa room is the best- great teachers, amazing music, good crowd
Great Latin music! Bachata Invasion was a lot of fun!
Bachata room, its just fine. 9 bachatas and 2 salsas :/
Wish they played more salsa. It gets the job done 😎
Huge dancefloor but wayyyy too much Bachata. Change the name.
Good Latin music ...had a fun time with my friends
A great place to dance salsa, bachata and meet new people.
