It was absolutely wonderful. I was the center of attention for a change and a couple of the guys really was interested in getting to know me personally and private. I love this place! This staff was a delight like the last time I was there.

Great price for nyc last remaining gay sauna.Ive noticed too many negative comments.If you travel around the world and visit other Saunas, youd know that the price is similar in comparison.Get a yearly membership. Its $40Or stay DL or closeted and each time you go, youd have to pay for the temporary membership fee at $15 for five visits.Remember to put your ego aside. Everyone is sexy to someone. If it doesnt match, dont take it out on others, or yourself.I give this place 3 stars for layout and set up. Others in the USA are better equipped, with hot tubs, pools etc.Yes the staff ask for tips. Remember its like housekeeping. They clean up your mess.

Be careful last night I paid to renew and the guy didn’t do when I try check out different guy said I didn’t pay to renew . They are not honest , petty , play games , bully and there is a lot going on . Save your time and money to something better disgusting place

I don’t believe these reviews. I almost didn’t go to this spot because of them and it was a great experience. I went on a Saturday afternoon around 12 and it was pretty quiet. Crowd camearound 4pm and really picked up from then on. Entry fee was $44. Staff was very polite. Place is very clean and enjoyed chatting with several people there.

Wow i worked there when i was a kid how its changed i think a room was 8 dollars 24 hr room 20.. lockers i think 4 hours a few bucks.. i cleaned in the morning weekends

I was there on 01/19/2024 and it was awesome! I love their staff, they were very handsome and open to have some fun. All the people there was very friendly and respectful. Im definitely going back on February.

The worst!!! The sauna fit around 3 people the steam the same. It looked clean so no complaints about that ..I went a Sunday afternoon and i think I was the youngest person in that place by the way I am 41 I went to walk by the rooms. And no really what I expected. 😞 No for me 😔 ohhhhh not hot water 🚿.

It’s kind of weird that it’s next to a high school. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. However, $85 for 4 hours is crazy compared Steamworks Chicago, Mega-Plex Providence, and Club Aqua Miami; all which give you 8+ hours. The rooms are the smallest closest I’ve ever been in. The crowd is 50+. There were 4 people under 30. My friend and I were 2 of the 4. The place is fairly clean!! They have private bathrooms which is a plus. Overall I wouldn’t spend money here again unless they have a special going on.

First of all, you should know that there is only a tiny hammam and sauna (no jacuzzi) and no particular installation just a sofa with a TV. The rest are cabins. The clientele is particularly elderly. No hot water in the shower (maybe temporary). I paid $39 for 4 hours. The week before I went to the Steamworks in Chicago, for the same price, the difference is huge in terms of facilities and population. Most boring gay sauna here.

This place is quite small for being in the biggest city in America. The person at the door was super friendly however the guy that took me to my locker and demanded a tip not so much. I purposely didn’t give him a tip because he did absolutely nothing to deserve it and holding out your hand expecting something is rude. I didn’t ask to be walked to my locker I could’ve easily don’t that myself. Went on a Friday night and there was about 20 people in the entire place and most of them a bit on the older side. You’ll have better luck on any app!

I’ve been there walked in late with a friend staff was really cool really nice very friendly place was really clean but it just wasn’t my vibe. If you’re older and discreet this would be perfect for you but if you’re younger in your early 30s and you wanna have fun not the vibe I’m looking for, but otherwise stuff was really cool and everything was good. Extreme reviews usually are less representative of reality. Those complaining of filth, mean workers, overcharging, etc, are misleading.I was here Saturday night, July 15, 2023, and the cost for a room with a temporary membership was $44. That price is comparable to prices at US bathhouses (Club Fort Lauderdale, Club Dallas, Club Aqua in Miami, Chicago Steamworks, etc). Maybe the suggestion to management would be to update the published costs—which are not on their site. The prices also are for one of the most expensive neighborhoods, and reflect recent inflation.This it the only mens bathhouse left in NYC, and the owners don’t seem to take advantage of it. Closeted former mayor Koch used the scapegoat of AIDS to shut down most of NYC’s bathhouses in 1985 and drove sex spaces underground. I am grateful East Side Club is an available and supportive space for us.- Workers were informative and friendly, quickly cleaning rooms in between occupants, and staying out of the way of patrons. The announcements about room time expirations were thoughtful and not scolding, and the African brother announcing has a great voice and tempo for them.- The bathrooms were clean, albeit a little wet. Showers have hotter water on the lower level, unlike the main floor. All bathrooms are stocked with soap and at least one has a hair dryer to get you really dry.- The front desk offers the usual safety deposit lock box for each patron and will ask to lock up your ID card if you have no valuables to store.- Rooms are well-maintained and doors mostly closed/opened well. Mats are sufficient, and the white sheets and walls look white. Each room has a light with a dimmer, and enough space to get around. Dance versions of pop and house music provide aural ambiance.- The place seemed very clean for such an establishment. It was not the filthy hazard one review lambasted. ESC is leagues ahead of the quaint “rustic” Fair Theater in Queens, and not the shambles of the basement at Rainbow Station in Chelsea, or the Les Atlas Cine X dump in Pigalle in Paris.- It was really hot and humid outside, but the environmental control inside was reasonable for a sticky summer.- The bottom floor has the most traffic, so stay there.Patrons were the usual 70% white and 30% men of color demographic to be expected in mainstream erotic spaces. Ages seemed to range from 30s-60s, and most of the men were in reasonable physical shape. It was not bear night or a SAGE party.A few guys had been out drinking earlier, but were pleasant, and not boisterous. A couple of guys might have been high, but it was not a meth-head smoke fest like Rainbow Station. My nose is very sensitive, and my sobriety has me alert to intoxicated behavior. Most guys wore towels, and some wore jocks or were nude. The usual levels of desire and curiosity ranged, but no one was invasive; suffice it to say the men behaved well.

For the elderly and obese crowd, this is heaven. Ninety-nine percent of them are of this type. By the way , this is the black community. From the staff to the customers, almost all are black and Middle Eastern, which is i like very much... and there are almost no whites or other races. Absolutely recommend to people who into elder and obsity , five-star rate

Went last night 1st of July 2022, and I had a great time. The staff is nice and very friendly specially the check in people, besides of being gorgeous they are super nice.Now, the place was quite, and it is expensive and I guess not everyone can afford those prices. It’s up to the management to decide to have tons of people or an empty place. New York real estate is expensive so I’m so surprised that they have survived the pandemic. I went to this bathhouse back in the 80’s and it looks better now than then. I’ll be back tonight

The worst experience I have ever gotten. Definitely not worth the money. First and last time for sure.The guy at the entrance made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I informed him that it was our first time and asked him to explain the pricing so I’ll know how much money to take out, he rolled his eyes at me like i was asking a complicated question. You don’t like your job, quit. And than he had the audacity to ask me for a tip.However, the inside attendant was AMAZING. I forgot his name but he was very friendly, nice, and patient. Took his time to explain everything to us. Thank you for that.

I came here years ago, regularly as it declined. Hadn’t been for years and went again this weekend (Aug 22). I gotta say it has vastly improved. The place was spotless, the door staff and even one or two of the cleaners were friendly and polite. It’s now the only bathhouse in NY, indeed now that NYC is like a suburban mall in Christian fundamentalist America, it’s about the only way to hook up without an app! I recommend it.

Had a great sexual experience with only one guy in the entire place. He was one of only 4 guys including myself that was in shape, not caring about age. The rest of the guys were fat or in poor shape, not my preference for a guy. They also need to fix the shower so it puts out warm water.

A Costly Sick Joke!Terrible. Not good horrible waste of time and money!Im a New Yorker and I remember when this was a good place to go but year after year this place gets worse.The Carribean guy at the front desk is sometimes okay sometimes rudeAn something always seems to be broken or off line ALWAYS. The last 3 times across 9 months the lift was broken so you have to walk 6 double flights of stairs.My most recent experience went like this.I arrived at 5am to find..No steam and only 3 people there including one troll who wouldnt take a hint and followed me everywhere I went. The other two with their crack pipes in hand.When I asked the attendant about the steam I said they turn it on at 12 noon. An hour after my time expired.The upstairs showers were broken.At one point they even turned all the lights on and shut off the music. (8:30a) Couldnt even sleep the time away due to the cleaning guy spraying water into a bucket.I recently went to Montreal, for $12-16 Canadian $8-10 American roughly you get a room with a locker equipped with outlets for phone charging, 4 floors, sauna, steam, hot tub functioning showers on all floors and a rooftop deck lots of free live and condoms.Here they charge $43 for a room if youre not a member. The only way to become a member is to stop in during business hours during a slim window two weekdays.I will NEVER go there again.

Nice crowd. A bit slow due to COVID. My spouse said the facility was okay. Zero customer service from the front desk guy. My spouse went in (I had to wait outside because I forgot my I.D.) I had a unique opportunity to watch multiple guests interact with the desk employee. He ranged from abrasive to down right rude to guests as they came in; people that started the conversation cheery visibly lost enthusiasm. A little customer service would go a long way and based off what I saw the employee is either not capable or willing to provide such.

This place was the most expensive let down I’ve ever experienced in my time visiting bath houses around the country (and internationally a bit). I read the reviews and decided to give it a try regardless. This is my heads up to you.First and foremost this place is pricy. For a locker and new membership it comes to $39, which, considering the rest of the details, is about $30 more than it should be.There are ZERO, NO, NONE, not a single play space or room. The ‘bath house’ is a couple rectangles of hallways with private rooms and mirrors on the walls. There are a couple benches which is nice, and some darker corners in the hallways.This wouldn’t be an issue except for the fact that the staff would literally come through and break up any action happening, telling us we’re preventing them from ‘doing their job’. Lol. The crowd was really great and fun but the staff would consistently and quite aggressively stop everyone from playing and tell us to purchase a room. They said there was no sex allowed in the hallways, meanwhile, there are no play spaces and no signs saying otherwise. It was the most condescending and invasive experience I’ve had at a bath house. Why the hell would I be there if that’s not allowed, and why the hell wouldn’t you put up a sign telling us not to play? What’s my money for? If I wanted to walk around in a towel and not do anything, I’ll go to the gym.I’m really disappointed. Just moved to NYC from a city that had a couple decent bath houses and was excited to try this place but my lord I don’t think I’ll ever be back.You can get more action at the Eagle and you won’t be shamed for it.

Im a frequent visitor to NYC and have, from time to time, checked this place out. It was always a waste of time with an extremely rude staff/ unprofessional staff. This past week I decided to go back and much to my surprise the doorman was very friendly and welcoming and the staff was also extremely courteous. Just like the past there was a large amount 65+ crowd but among them were some hot guys, im in my thirties and had no problem finding guys to play with. Ive been to some amazing placed in Europe, this is far from it but I gave it 5 stars just to applaud the changes.

This was so far the worst, I mean, the worst bathhouse I have ever been. The employee was also very rude. When I asked why their website says $19 and he was charging me $35, he just kept snapping at me to if I was a member, impatiently. Front door guy very rude. Place is just corridors of room. Sauna and steam room were small . Most guys were 50+ and quite a few had foul odors. Maybe 20 guys present. Stick with Grindr you will probably caught less diseases. Not worth the $40.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO REVIEWS. :(There is a coupon on the website that says Free Trial Membership $5 Lockers for Under 30. So I jumped in a cab (E train was down) on Sunday September 17 and arrived at East Side Club at 9:35PM. On the wall next to the entrance booth is a small plaque that reads Coupons Only Valid Monday - Thurs. The coupon I saved on my phone from their website had no expiration date, no limitations beside age, and on the website it says Coupon Valid 24/7 below this particular coupon. So I was ready to argue with this contradiction. Yet still, I was denied entrance. The coupon had to be PRINTED! Because people still print tickets/coupons, right!? To top it all off, there was no warning on the coupon OR the website that it must be printed to be valid. Me, being a handsome, young, fit lad who would surely being good experiences to their clientele, I was amazed! So I just came all the way here with this coupon, and you cant help me out even though the purpose of the coupon is to get new [young] business. The manager looked at me with no empathy and sated, Its in the rule book. No. The only explanation here is this company is dishonest. I left at that moment. Stay away!

This place is an absolute rip off , went one day and charged Membership fee of $15 Plus entry fee of $28 total $43 . told the guy i was visiting for a week and If i came back would only be charged normal entry . well no !! on return next day , showed the so called membership card but was told i had to pay mship again. told them to stick it ! Full of old guys over 60+ . DONT GO..stick with scruff , Grindr etc !!

Having cancer, I went there yesterday. I just wanted to be around my gay brethren.I know I look horrible, but instead of asking me if I was alright the staff and subsequently some of the patrons assumed I was a drug addict. Added to that misery, I found my door ajar at one point and money had been taken from my wallet.When I complained to the front desk the imbecile asked me if I could identify the stuff member who had done this.

Clean, 3 floors, 2 saunas, lots of menThe sauna is on the 6th floor. I was there from 3-8 p.m. Payment with cash only. Its a bit unusual that you put your valuables in a box at the checkout. I can recommend everyone to book a cabin. You will be accompanied to the cabin by the staff at the beginning. The sauna is basically clean! The average audience was aged 30 and over. 3 boys were under 30. I can only recommend this sauna. I paid $39 for 4 hours without a cabin. Very well air conditioned. Anyone who catches cold easily should be careful.

I went on a week night and it was practically empty. The place is good but there is nothing special or too cozy. In my opinion, saunas have gone down in history decades ago. Its not like before since people use dating apps. Its a shame because what a sauna experience was, it had something special and exciting.

The sauna offers vouchers online. Two people for the price of one. However, these are not accepted by the sauna. We werent even greeted and insulted. When asked why the vouchers werent accepted, all he said was that he had just said that he didnt accept them and we shouldnt doubt it now. Then I mumbled that these vouchers are only valid until midnight. This was neither on the saunas homepage nor on the voucher. It looks like unsuspecting tourists are being lured in this cheap way in the hope that they will just give up and pay. Particularly annoying when it took you almost an hour to get there.Note: the sauna itself is extremely difficult to find. It is not signposted and is located in a dirty and smelly basement room.
