Subject: Extremely Dissatisfied with Nail ServiceI recently visited Urban Nail Salon, and unfortunately, I had an incredibly disappointing experience. I went after work, hoping to get a specific nail design. The nail tech who became available attempted the design, but after two unsuccessful tries, we both realized it wasnt feasible.When I politely asked if another nail tech could give it a try, she insisted that no one else in the salon could do it. Despite having had positive experiences before, I asked again, pointing out someone I believed had done similar designs for me. Once more, I was told no.The outcome of my nails speaks for itself – its the worst set Ive ever gotten, and right before Christmas and New Years, its especially disheartening. I felt unheard and frustrated with the service. This experience has significantly impacted my opinion of Urban Nail Salon.The 1st photo shows the design that i wanted, the other photos uploaded are what i received. I got Gel-X nail extensions & paid $84.00 plus tip.

The nail technicians here always do a beautiful job! I have been coming here for the past 2 years. I always do the gel x manicure and my nails have grown strong and long. The technicians are friendly and the environment is calm (unlike many other salons in the area). They really take their time with each client and are true artists and perfectionists. And trust me - I am extremely picky about my nails and have tried many salons before finding this gem. My manicure will last somewhere between 2.5- 3 weeks. Five stars!

Went in for a pedicure and the technician rushed through it and seemed like I had inconvenienced her. She missed half my nail on some toes and where she did paint, I see numerous air bubbles. For a pedicure that was supposed to be relaxing, she did everything to make it not. Literally go anywhere else.

Ive been going here for a few years and I love it. Im always asking for a design and they always do their best to accommodate me. The technicians have gotten to know me and I think theyve done a beautiful job.

My go-to nail salon in Midtown. Affordable, kind staff, relaxing, and do a fabulous job on my regular gel manicures. Highly recommend!Update: now I get powder manicures and I love them even more! These valentine nails are my favorite ❤️

Absolutely would recommend. Have been coming here for years, my technician, Norma is truly amazing and listens to all my concerns and answers my questions.

Did holiday nails with my mom and absolutely love how they turned out. Pink is a genius!!! I got nail art with gel and she did a green cat eye which is stunning in daylight and dim lighting. Thank you so much ❤️

I have been coming here for two years now and I have been met with nothing but kindness and excellent quality gel extension manicures and pedicures. Today I got a French tip chrome nail set and they even made a new color for me so it would match the picture I brought in. Ping was excellent and suggested what might look better and listened to everything I said.

I sincerely hope you have a better experience!Showed up at 6:27 for my 6:30 basic mani appointment at the Urban Nail Salon ( no acrylics, nothing challenging, brought my own polish) and knew I was in trouble when the extremely frazzled and overwhelmed owner lady screamed Youre EARLY!So there I sat.And sat. And sat. Then a walk in came in. Then another. I politely asked what was going on, a brisk YOURE NEXT! was always the response.Close to 7pm, I was sat with a young technician with a huge hickey on her neck. We whizzed through my manicure.Now Im finally under the dryer and the crazy owner lady wants to go home, has all the chairs up, done sweeping (theyre open till 8pm) and breathing down my neck bc she wants to leave early.Good grief.We all know places are struggling and are willing to wait and pay more, but honestly, not with the Urban Nail Salon.

I went to this salon yesterday and asked for an acrylic set with a simple colored French top. The nail design looks terrible and so unlike my reference picture and was done by a different woman to the one who put my acrylics on. My nails look chunky and thick and I’m embarrassed to show my hands now.

I had such a great experience today that I had to leave a review! I’m new to NYC and have had such a hard time finding a good nail salon. My nail tech Coco did an amazing job with her attention to detail and dealing with me being picky! She was so kind. I will be going back and letting all of my friends know about this place too. Thank you!I got UV gel with white French. First time getting UV gel I normally get acrylic but heard this is better.

Friendly service, but not everyone speaks english well. Work could be done more precise, but overall looks good and fresh. St the end you’ll get a quick and (almost too) intense shoulder massage.

Love this nail salon, great spot after work, they always do a great job and take care of you here, whether simple or complex nails is your desire. Finish off with a small shoulder massage, very polite and friendly staff.My favorite nail salon to go to, priced well for location!

Review for a Basic Mani and Pedi.Was needing a basic mani pedi while in midtown east so I went to Urban Nails.Got MartaShe does a great job.

Got gel extensions and thought they did a great job. Nail fell off after 1 week so went back to fix it. They fixed it, then the next day the same nail fell off. Waste of time and money.

My sister and I walked in and only waited 5 minutes before we got started. A standard manicure plus tip is under $20 and they do a small hand massage and neck massage during it. Great choice of colors, too. It took about 20-30 minutes with dry time. Whenever I’m back in NY I would definitely come here again!

Wow I got a pedicure and tried to leave a cash tip of what I had left and she gave it back and said tips are 20% . I said it’s all I have left and she told me zelle her the 20% ??? Huh since when we are told the amount of tip to leave ???

Waited 45 mins past my appointment time only to get a lumpy, streaky polish job on my gel manicure and horrible shaping, despite repeated requests to shape differently/let me choose a new color. I’ve been coming here for a while but this was for my engagement pictures and I told them that. They did not care, they still rushed me and I will absolutely not be returning again.

I just had my nails done, and it looks like I will need to do it again in 5days. Even though I asked her to add gel all the way to the back, she said something like she can’t do it.I would definitely skip this place next time.

Went for the first time and the technician did a great job with my Apres gel extensions but like another reviewer said, within 2 days 2 of the nails popped off with little effort. I went back and they fixed for free, but now 1 day later another nail came off. That should not happen with extensions. My last set from another salon lasted easily almost 3 weeks. I have an event tonight and now my nails will have one missing when I just got them done a few days ago. I won’t be a returning customer.

My new go-to spot for UV gel! I’ve tried dozens of salons, mostly charging high end prices, both close to home and close to work. By chance I came here on my lunch break and got the best UV gel fill-in with the owner Jessi.The atmosphere was quaint and soothing. Perfect for a good hour away from my desk. The part I struggle most is for nail techs to perfectly shape my nails. She is an expert and you can tell. Prices are incredibly fair, don’t sleep on this place!!

1st time but wont be last. Great M&P at reasonable price w no extra for nice lil back neck while nails dry.

Dont go here. The lady that I had didnt know how to shape/file a nail so now I have an array of nail lengths and styles. She also broke my pinkie nail from excessive buffing so she had to put a silk wrap on it, excuse me her co worker did because she didnt know how. AND the worst part is I asked for gel polish and whatever she used might as well have been regular lacquer. My nails can bend with this polish on and are not hard at all. I will probably break one soon and just give up trying to find a good nail tech in the city.Edit: polish completely came off one nail after just 4 days

From one perfectionist to another... Susan is official. I have been on a search for a new nail tech, and so happy to say that I have found her! Not only did Susan do an amazing job taking off acrylic tips from a different salon, she made sure to do it with care (along with another nail tech whose name I didnt catch, who was also very sweet).I not only enjoyed how kind Susan was, but I really appreciated her answering all of my questions. She explained every step of my nails getting done; the soak off, what kind of manis they do, which would be best for my nails, and even gave me some pointers on nail health as it relates to the service I chose (hard gel w/design). I really enjoyed this visit! Im very picky when it comes to nail techs esp since I really pay attention to nail health and she checked off ALL my boxes.The salon itself is extremely cute! It was 95 degrees today, but they had the A/C on blast, calming music playing, and just an overall clean and nice vibe. They were VERY clean, and used brand new and clean tools on my hands (which is a non-negotiable for me).Cant wait for my fill-in with Susan in a few weeks!!!

I went in for a gel manicure. The woman shredded my hands taking off my nail polish—the picture says it all. I changed my mind to clear polish to get out as soon as I could. Woman charged me $20 which I argued down to $12...This was my first and most definitely last time at Urban Nail Salon.

Great Nail Salon!I appreciate that they take their time to do a neat job. The ladies are top notch and youll receive a shoulder massage while your nails dry.Susan is the best, always friendly and welcoming and shes a great manicurist.

Overall experience was ok. Would not recommend or return. It got the job done though. I received a manicure and pedicure. They tried to charge extra for some basic things that should be included in the package. One lady was nice. But overall felt rushed and didn’t attend to the small details that are necessary for it to be done properly

Staff was friendly and it was clean. However, it was extremely overpriced I have never paid over $100 for a UV gel set especially with uneven shaping. I was there for almost two hours and I am not completely happy with my nails. They don’t look terrible however I was just expecting some better shaping. I asked for almond, some nails are crooked and tapered in more on one side than the other. I would say they are a fine salon for regular gel manicures but maybe pass if you are looking for acrylics/uv gel tips.

Iv come here every two weeks for the past four months and have loved my nails every time. I get a silk wrap with gel polish, and I have also gotten a few gel pedicures. I am incredibly picky about shaping but they nail it every time. The color selection is great, and the service is super friendly. They even throw in free neck massages while your nails are drying. Highly recommend!!

Way over priced and when I went to pay I was told my tip was not good enough. First time ever that I go get my nails done and Im forced to give a higher tip then what I have. 141.00 for mani pedi gel. Hell NO. Never again

First time here so take it with a grain of salt - mightve been a one off.Asked for a short rounded nail trim. Not only are my nails at uneven lengths but the sides are still long. She literally only clipped the top point of the nail.She also did cuticle work but scrapes the bed of my nail so bad i have little bits of nail sticking up.The only reason I didnt stick around to get it fixed was because a mask less customer was coughing next to me.All in all, rushed, poor experience.

First time there, I needed a new place for my nails since I started working in the area from Brooklyn. They were sweet to take me in last minute. They were fast and very sweet. Considering the area that they’re in, it’s very well priced! I will be coming back !

After seeing their yelp photos, I went there very excited to get my gel manicure. I showed them a photo of this nail art they previously did on another customer. One lady starts working on it and after base coat, I get passed to another one for the design as the first rep refused to do them. The second lady couldnt do the design either and kept doing it and then she abruptly left and the first lady came back to do them. She also did not know how to do it and they both just did a horrible job of doing it. If they couldnt do the design, I wouldve gladly done a regular gel or a french nail. But they didnt say anything, agreed to do the design, and ended up spending 2 hours and did a horrible job. At the end, I was left with bad nails, cured top coat stuck all over bottom of my fingers and 2 hours wasted and still had to pay $47 + %20 tip I left.

The women at Urban Nail Salon are phenomenal! They are so kind and attentive and they do great work! My boyfriend and I both got pedicures while visiting the city and the bottom of our feet feel like a baby’s bottom! Quality service for a great price! They even gave us lotions as a holiday gift. They also gave me a nice massage while my toes dried! Highly recommend this nail salon! We had a wonderful experience to end our nyc trip!

Loved Urban Nails. It was the first time I have ever gotten acrylics removed without my nails being destroyed and left with them feeling healthier / looking better than ever with a gel mani. Also got a pedi. Thank you Lorma for doing such an excellent job and to the other ladies in the shop for an entertaining visit : )

Affordable, accessible pedicure with great food options nearby. Added a quick 10 min massage quite delightful.

Easy, quick nail salon in midtown. They dont take appointments, but I have walked in during my lunch hour for a shellac manicure ($30) without too long of a wait.Thorough manicure, although not the best Ive had, even at that price point. The manicure lasts for a solid two weeks, despite work and hikes and other potentially damaging activities.

I made an appointment online the day before and when I showed up they said they were too busy for me - they said we already have too many appointments! Dont overbook then.

Very poor service. $30.00 for a manicure and pedicure that lasted 30 minutes. Rushing you out. Not a very warm and friendly atmosphere. And the pregnant one, needs to learn what customer service is. I would not recommend this place even in an emergency. They need a sign that says Business Closed.

The nails were done pretty ok what just really made me angry is the fact that from three customers I was the only one who had to pay during my nails were done. Just because I am not American or for what ever reason? The nail technician was a Mexican woman who barely speak English and this is not the way how you are to your customers. Where is the world equality ? Not returning here again

I wish I had asked my manicurists name because she was EXCELLENT! She provided me with a great gel mani, regular pedi & extended massage in the massage chair. Every staff member in Urban Nails was polite, professional, prompt! The small salon was clean, all utensils sterilized, all pedi chairs & sinks fully functionAL & their debit card reader worked as well. I know some may say that these things should be a GIVEN, but trust me Ive been to dozens of nail salons were more than a few of these qualities are lacking! Great place! And they seem to have repeat customers they called out by name coming in & out the entire time I was there!

Wanted to remove my acrylic tips (done somewhere else) and they took me right away. Took maybe 10 minutes and technician was super nice, telling me how to take care of my nails after they were damaged with the tips.

Very clean. FRIENDLY staff! Pleased with my nails. Will be back.

The service was ok and fast and they got the job done just when they are talking and laughing together in their own language after every customer say or do sth is kind of uncomfortable , maybe its totally irrelevant but when you cant understand you feel bad ! Oribleeeee, I just left the salon and this is the result, without looking without touch they finish a manicure in 15 minutes with cuticle and gel!!!! Everything was done super fast and wrong, I dont recommend it at all! When I saw the result of my manicure I gave up getting my feet done, a joke! They ruined my nails, I had them better before I fixed them, plus the manicurist demanding a tip from me will be tough...
