We were here on a date night Friday for Schtick a Pole in it. Beautiful ambiance, great friendly staff, great food and drinks. All pool dancers were amazing. The combination of comedy and pole dancing made us laugh and then made us jawdrop. Great idea and unique. I recommend to see this.

DROM in the East Village is hands down one of my favorite spots in NYC! The vibe is super cozy and the acoustics are on point, making every show sound amazing. Ive been to a bunch of different gigs here everything from jazz and rock to world music and each one has been a unique experience.They also serve some tasty Mediterranean dishes and have a great cocktail menu, which really adds to the whole night out. Its awesome to see such a diverse lineup of artists, including some big names like Grammy winners. If youre into discovering new music or just want a great place to hang out and enjoy live performances, DROM is definitely the place to be!

Caught an amazing jazz show by Grammy-winning Mingus Big Band on Monday night. The whole band killed it! Totally enjoyed the performance and definitely planning a return. Everyone played their hearts out – pure musical magic! All the pieces are well planned out. Incredible.

It was my first time joining a concert in here. I really like it. People had a lot of fun. I was standing because I purchased my ticket that way. If you get your ticket this way, just go little early like 20 or 15 minutes before the concert and get your spot. Dress up shoes wise your comfort zone, and enjoy your concert. If you’re a Turkish person remember to be kind each other 😝and have a lot of fun. This was my experience! Thanks to Serdar Ilhan organizing some awesome concerts so, we will see our favorite singers and musicians!!!

Intimate yet spacious venue with great acoustics and eclectic world music. Food and drinks are well made.

Came here for a special 5 different bands show and had a lot of fun.I was starving and ordered a lamb-beef burger with salad and it was pretty good and fresh. I don’t usually order food at bars/clubs, but I had no complaints here.It’s not good to dance on a completely empty stomach, so I was happy I could have dinner there and then dance the night away to awesome live bands.

A cool, easygoing venue - $20 minimum table spend pp and great service. I highly recommend the Mingus Big Band - amazing playing.

I dont like to leave bad reviews but unfortunately my last few experiences at Drom as a performer have been quite negative. While the space/stage is good and the sound is better than other venues, the woman in charge (not sure if she is the owner or the manager) is excessively rude to performers and customers, always seemingly on the attack. I know all artists and venues are trying to survive right now, but dealing with people in this way is not helping anyone, let alone the live music scene in New York. I will be advising fellow musicians to avoid booking here if possible, and I would hope that Drom would take this review to heart and make changes so that musicians and venues can work together in a way that is not so caustic.

Definitely a cool place if you like to look at beautiful people and youre beautiful yourself

It may be a small venue but they always fill up on their events. I was here for their Swift night and Emo night and it was amazing. At first it seems empty but when the crowd shows up it gets crazy. The bar has beer for $8 and shots for $13 plus tip. (New years they had a free shot with a purchase deal). They have several types of beer, like Dragons Milk and Voodo Ranger juice Force. They also have high noon seltzer. If you want to get smashed quickly, Id recommend going for the 9% vodoo ranger IPAs. If you get a table, its usually 20 per person, so what I like to do is buy one of their wine bottles for $50 so I can sit with my crew. The bar tenders are really friendly and the veriaty of events held here never disappoints

First time attending a concert here and it was for Haluk Levent. His concert filled this entire venue and it was one of the best I’ve been to! Great atmosphere, we had an amazing time. Even met him backstage :). Definitely recommend.

Drom is a great venue. I think The place has super cute vibes it’s a small place which makes it better and cozy .I was honestly impressed by their food menu selection as a bar. They bring lots of great Turkish singer as well so I attended over 10 concerts here and had no issue. Tonight Cem Adrian performed and it was stunning. Stuff is pretty friendly as well. Overall My favorite concert place to have some Turkish night with friends ✨

Drom is one of the first clubs I have been to when I moved to NYC in 2012. A great venue for musicians - they host every genre & all kinds of bands from all over the world. I have performed at Drom at least 3-4 times with different types of bands ( tango & Turkish pop & classical )Hosts are great - sound is great - bartenders are awesome - food is great as well!!They are open to new projects & ideas and they host the best Turkish events in NYC.💯💕🧿

I gave it 5 stars for the music. I only go for the Mingus Big Band. Its a $20 minimum, but I suggest you eat before you go and just buy drinks. Food menu is sad and not worth the $$.

Piss stinky place that is not accessible for disabled folks! 0/10 would not recommend. We asked for an accessible seat & the option was to sit in the high top seat away from the stage or pay an extra $20 PER PERSON for seated area. So many other better venues that are queer and disabled friendly with kind and accommodating staff

Ive had the opportunity to perform at this venue for many times and have always felt that we are just too lucky to have Drom as a home. I have known the owner for over 15 years and I trust him, his family, and the Drom staff with my family. The venue had undergone multiple changes and renovations in years and still standing strong in a very competitive town like Manhattan where venues open and close almost monthly. Now, that alone is enough to say that this is a well managed business and a well run venue, thanks to Serdar Ilhan, the owner and the whole management staff. I will continue to perform as an artist at Drom and will continue enjoying my nights out there as a customer. Thank you for being there as a business supporting musicians, live music and thank you for the years of work you put in to keep Drom standing strong!

I am a singer and guitarist for the Philadelphia-based band Barakka. I have performed at Drom NYC many times with various bands, including at festivals. With over 15 years of experience in the food business, I have had the opportunity to see Droms kitchen and have enjoyed dinner there as well. I have never witnessed any bugs, mice, or dirty floors at the venue. Their sound system is one of the best in NYC, and I can guarantee that. Additionally, the staff is helpful, and the owner/manager is a good person.On one occasion, when a singer from Turkey hired us as the house band, the turnout for the show was lower than expected, and he couldnt pay our wages. However, Mr. Serdar İlhan stepped in and paid us from his own pocket, ensuring that we didnt leave empty-handed. We are truly grateful for his generosity. Anyone spreading falsehoods about this venue and its staff likely harbors a personal grudge against the place and Mr. İlhan.I want to express my gratitude to Drom, and we look forward to returning soon! I love the band I saw, Talisk, but the venue was not at all audience friendly.they had two tiers of seats, premium and general admission. I was there once before and the premium seats were off to the side of the stage and had inferior sound.When we arrived we discovered that there were no seats but premium. The rest was standing. We hadnt eaten as there was a $20 minimum at the tables. As there was no tables, we didnt have to pay the minimum but we didnt get to eat. We would have eaten before if we had known. My friend was pregnant and had to go home as she couldnt stand that longDuring the show the wait staff would literally push their way through the crowd to the bar. we were shoved repeatedly.

Great space for talented musicians. Nice sound system, friendly staff and environment. Chaser salad was excellent and the humus with peta bread was outstanding!

I went to see the Secret Trio.Great venue, they bring great artists and staff was very helpful.I liked the food and beverages which I consider served at a fair price considering the location and quality. I think many of the negative reviews on here are unfair. Cant wait to come back

We went to the Schtick a Pole in It show. The show was great, great comics & great performers. Definitely worth a visit! The food was great and the drinks were ok.

Came here to see the pole X comedy show which was amazing. It was a quick process getting folks through the door, the bartender service was top tier and I laughed more than expected. The dancers were very talented as well

Almost always empty when I’ve been there. but their theme nights and music make up for it! it’s funny though because they’re always so intense about letting you in and ask for pre ordered tix and then there’s like 5 people inside loll

The owner, Serdar Ilhan, has a long history of promoting live music, starting with his first spot in the East Village, St. Marx Café, where I had my first professional gig in NYC. Over the years, I’ve become close friends with Serdar and have witnessed firsthand his dedication and love for music. Despite the challenges faced by music venues, Drom has managed to keep the lights on and continue promoting all genres of music. It has proven itself as one of New York City’s unique music venues, offering a variety of shows, from world music to jazz.Drom is not trying to be a luxurious restaurant or fancy bar; it’s an underground music venue in the East Village. It’s a pretty good venue to see shows. I appreciated that while the show I attended last night was “sold out,” there was still ample room to stand, enjoy the show, and be able to get drinks within a reasonable amount of time.I saw in.iko who was amazing!!

Really nice life music venue. Great atmosphere and great music. It is unfortunate that the service is a bit abrupt and not necessarily friendly, and additionally the tip is automatically included in the bill. There is wide range of drinks. Food is OK pub food.

Fun venue but it’s ridiculous that you can’t get water for free. I bought three drinks over the course of a few hours and when I asked for some water I was told I had to pay. I left pretty dehydrated after all that dancing

My heart sank in panic with the news of the jazz standard closing and where I could get my Mingus Monday fixings. My first time here since the Mingus Monday residency started and I regret not coming sooner. The up close and personal feeling of the club is great for when you want to be right up in the music. And of course a lovely little bar for those who wanna full view of the packed stage.All of the musicians are brilliant in their own rights. After a decade of seeing them I am still blown away with every show. Even my wife who couldnt name the band we saw was absolutely enamored with the gravitas and talent of the band and loved it.Cant recommend Drom enough for taking up the Mingus Monday mantle. If you have a chance treat yourself and go!

Nice intimate venue with decent food. Tucked away on Avenue A in the East Village. Need to take stairs to get down to the lower level. Nice waitstaff.

This was a fun venue to go to on a tour with an upstate NY band Sophistafunk that performed and opened up for Big 8 Brass Band kicking off their European tour in NYC at Drom. Was my first time their and I was impressed by the energy of the event. Was alot of positive vibes and just overall great atmosphere would definitely go back again.

On the night of 4.27 the bouncer was extremely combative and honestly on a power trip. This bouncer needs to be investigated and should not work in this industry. He made my party feel unsafe. Please do not attend this venue.

I go to the DROM almost once a month to watch and photograph Schtick a pole in it - a show where they have comics and pole dancers. I can not comment on the food as I have never ordered anything to eat at the DROM, but from the small interactions I had with the staff I can say that they are all very friendly.The DROM is a medium sized venue where you can experience intimate performances of all kinds. With that said I am typically at the DROM for pole dance performances. Its a great venue for pole, just beware a small number of seats have slightly obstructed line of sight, so keep that in mind. The venue also installed new stage lighting and it looks fantastic.Mixed crowd, which is great.Side note: There is a big chandler that hangs in the middle of the venue, which is kind of neat.

Music was fantastic Cuban jazz with opera and not just 1 but 2 opera singers and a FANTASTIC PIANO AND DRUMMER .... KEEP IT GOING

We purchased 4 tickets for the whole family, 2 teenager kids (16&18) & 2 parents for an alternative rock band concert. At the door we were not allowed to go inside and were told that we cant bring our kids although NYC law clearly allows teenagers with accompanying parents to attend events where alcohol is served. A close friend of ours and their underage kids were allowed to enjoy another concert about a month ago but we were not. We asked for a refund and were informed that no refund can be issued. Ill never go to Drom again, because of their inconsistent policies and lack of professionalism.

Went there for new year’s eve. Set up was great. Sound was great. Sadly I am not the big fan of the genre they played that night. I would recommend confirming the band before booking any event.

Went to Drom tonight for a friends show and asked for a seat (I am a disabled person with a connective tissue disorder and was having significant back pain). I was told to speak to the manager who said that we could either pay for the vip seating in the room with the stage, or sit in the high top seats in the other room (not in view of the stage). With my disorder, I am unable to sit in high top seating, meaning that my only options were to pay for the seating near the stage or not see my friends show. While the manager cited that there wouldnt be space to move an accessible seat next to the bar for me, the venue was not anywhere close to full, and about 10 of the accessible seats in the vip area were open for the entire duration of the show, and could have easily been spared and moved next to the bar for accessibility purposes if they didnt want folks sitting in the vip section who didnt pay to sit there. I have never had this issue with venues in the city, Webster Hall has a separate area for accessible seating, and other venues have has no issue moving a seat so that I could see the show I paid to see. Id imagine another manager on a different night might have had no issue moving a seat or allowing me to do so myself. Very unfortunate.

Small sized live performance venue. The sound is good every where at the place. The drinks are decent priced 7$ sangrias. Its mainly stand up setting with a few VIP tables and a small lounge by the stage. The service is ok with moody bartenders. The waitresses are pushing through the crowd rudely to serve the VIP tables. It is not easy to see the performance from every where. Even there is down sides I would still come back to see another performance.

I went to see some live music performances. The bands were great. NoRuz and Kingsley Ibeneche! When I got inside I ordered an apple cider from the bar and went to find a seat. As soon as my friend and I approached the table (not even sat down yet) a waitress came over and aggressively told us that there was a two item minimum at the table per person. She said our apple ciders from the bar didnt count. We ordered food and they came out in a timely manner. The mac and cheese balls were so nasty. It tasted like that fake processed cheese. It came with a cheese sauce that really didnt have much taste to it. The guacamole and chips were very bland. Not even salt on the tortillas. The guac was really just avocado, lime juice and jalapeno and was very underwhelming. Overall its a very beautiful place, but Id be a bit more careful with the food. The drinks were $8 each.

Went here on a date night Friday for Schtick a Pole in it. Although the comedians were mid, the Exotic Dancers were Fabulous!!! The food wasnt cheap but tasty and worth the price! Wont come back because the comedy was ehh.

Saw a comedy/poledancing night here. The show was good. Half of the comics were very funny and all of the pole dancers were very good. The venue itself is terrible. The staff were slow, the food was awful and really expensive and the drinks were pricey and weak. There’s an 18% mandatory service charge, which you can understand, as otherwise people wouldn’t tip!

Went to see The Soft Parade (great Doors cover band) whom I’ve seen for decades in many venues - this place is just real poor for live music. The stage is tucked away in the corner, no where to dance as they put tables in the only available space - and you’re left with the direct bar area to cram in and view from a hard angle. Acoustics are poor as well. No coat check (closets are there but they wouldn’t allow use) and 2 bottles of Brooklyn lager are $25. If not for the really nice 2 bartenders and the cool shamrock stamp ☘️ I got in my hand walking in I’d have left 1 star*edit - I’m now revising my review to one star I was was most certainly charged more than $20 for 2 bottles of Brooklyn Lager as I handed a 20 and needed ti get another after he told me the price.sitting down in a club on metal chairs is not at all the live music experience I consider fun - especially in a NYC club playing fun music - so I declined to pay the VIP ticket as I saw it was seating - definitely won’t be back and I’m a loyal soft parade fan2nd edit - I’ll keep the 2 stars as not to be petty - Soft Parade is great!

Good venue, capable band, however playing above allowed decibel limits which can lead to irreparable hearing damages. Band (AM Gold Yacht Rock) should lower volume by 50% and adjust volume as bass and drums drown out vocals.

Cafeteria-level food with bistro prices. Bartender auto-grated my bottled beer. Not cool.Was charged $5 extra (17%) for buying a ticket at the door. Bought at the door to avoid the nonsense fees.Sound guy knows what hes doing, though.

The blonde manager of this place was unnecessarily disrespectful and rude, bands beware. to make matters even worse the other door guy backed up her unhinged behavior, immediately doubling down on the defensiveness after our band was falsely accused of giving alcohol to minors (we would never do such a thing, and while a bunch of kids sharing a cider may seem suspicious, instead of asking us calmly about the cups contents the incredulous blonde snatched it and drank it?) please save your band a headache and skip this venue. overpriced food and managements a basket case. truly shameful.

It was a beautiful, funky venue and the sound system was great. The lights were very hot and I was extremely dehydrated. I asked the bartender for tap water and she refused. She indicated she can only sell me a $5 bottle of water so I left early. That’s nonsense.

I was at the Lana Del Rey dance party and I was using the restroom and the security guard Dean threatened to come in if I didn’t open the door, which he did btw ! & I acknowledged that I was in the bathroom and he still bothered to come in. I asked to speak to a manager and the coat rack guy said “I don’t know what to say “ I’m sooooo upset that they would just walk in like that even while the door is locked. YESSSS ladies they unlocked the door.

Went for a concert. Guy at the entrance was rude and not helpful at all. The coat check was full before the place was less than half way full. We put our coats on the side from where we were standing and management aggressively told us to remove them and hold them instead. Got pushed around multiple times by servers as I was standing. Defineyely not coming back again.

Great atmosphere, cool place it was up to Covid-19 standards. Servers were very nice and food was good!

I was here for watching a burlesque show. The place is spacious, nice. Whatever coctail you order they forget to put alcohol in it. Dont try the jalapeno Margarita, taste very bad!. The bar crew should learn how to make coctail+they should hire a better dj!

The performance was wonderful. The salsa class before the show was entertaining and everyone was having a good time. Our server Diego and the bartender Leo where extremely helpful. The food and drinks were really good. I will definitely come back to see Pedrito and his band perform.

I will never step foot into this establishment again , last night i was humiliated and felt like spectacle. I went to close out my tab and the older blonde bartender ( who i later found out was the manger) was being very aggressive with me and started getting rude when she could not find my card and i was taking away her time from making tips. Once she found it, there was an issue because i am on disability and share a joint account with my mother. so the card had her first name on it but the same last night. i showed her my ID to confirm this, I have never had an issue before.she then starts yelling at me, cursing at me and screaming youre not disabled and accusing me of fraud and refused to give me back my card while threating to call the cops. The bouncer was called and he was accusing of being rude to the owner and i expressed to him I am disabled. He then tells me you dont look disabled. once i finally got my card the bartender throw her hands out told me to get out because I didnt tip her after that experience. i left in tears and have never felt so embarrassed in my life. i will never be coming back and will be warning other of the management behavior.

Live shows are the best especially when the singers singing here usually fill up arenas back where they travel from. Its great to be up close to them. Managed to see many great artists here. Turk var icerde ortamda guzel Turk olan arkadaslarimiza tavsiye ederim kesinlikle.

I am a businessman that spends good money in this venue. As a business owner the level of rudeness and respect shown to other patrons in this venue by this old lady behind the bar who is a manager is disgraceful. I will never go back

***the comment below is not the person I am talking about. I hope they do find that person but the guy I’m talking about did not do anything to be physically assaulted. He did not lay a hand on the bouncer (or anyone for that matter) and actually was in the process of calling the police to de-escalate the situation when the bouncer shoved him to the ground***The business must be reporting reviews as my friends have had their reviews taken down. Bouncer is absolutely unhinged and pushed people to the ground. Happy to provide proof if this review is called under question. While the management seems extremely comfortable sweeping this under the rug (as I’ve seen other independent reviews detailing the bouncer’s threatening behavior), I am not. I do not want this happening to anyone else.

It’s way overpriced. We came for the Schtick a pole in it show. The comics were not funny. The dancers are fine but I couldn’t see any of the floor work from my table. It was $40 just for cover and then a $20 minimum. Just go to comedy cellar and a pole show separately, it will definitely be better maybe even cheaper.

We’ve been this place many times,Overall nice place, however this place has management issue.When their bartender announce “last call” for a drink, and when we order bunch of drink, they shouldn’t force us to leave right away. They need to allow us some time to finish our drink.Secondly when we complain about this situation to person who was in charge over there, that person shouldn’t blame us for their bartender’s fault ! She, the person who was in charge, was absolutely rude, and responded to our friends very aggressively.

This was my second visit to DROM and I wasnt disappointed either time. The hostess is the mostess! She really knew how to draw in the crowd and kept them entertained between acts. All of the acts were tastefully done.

False advertising..... Wouldnt let my friends and I in who are of legal age but not 21 without all of our own individual parents even though my friends parents were in there.. We bought tickets without knowing this rule even though we are of legal age...... I dont understand why they couldnt put Xs on our hands. Wouldnt go back or recommend especially with the rude manner in which they handled it.

Purchased tickets online to a burlesque show… Came all the way from DC and the show was canceled due to flooding…. Oh btw received refund 3 weeks later I’ll add another star… may actually be a great spot but never got the chance to find out

The programming here is incredible, so it’s really sad how aggressive the management is. The manager tried to physically drag a friend a way from one of the tables not realizing he actually had ordered the drink minimum. When the kitchen didn’t get an order right and a table tried to get the order fixed, the manager called the police on them. Eight police officers showed up over a burger. It was horrible and a huge distraction from the amazing performance. I looked through the reviews and it seems like this behavior is pretty common especially against people of color. I hope the management changes because the programming is so good.

This was my first time at DROM for a book event with Selcuk Sirin. I was very satisfied with the event itself but management/customer service really disappointed me. Tickets for the event were listed for $25 on the website. Then I found out that attendees were required to order food or beverages at least $20 per person. I don’t understand why people have to order something in order to be present at an event that they purchased a ticket for? If this was mandatory , then whoever organized this event should have left a note about it on the electronic tickets. I didn’t want to order anything because I was fasting that day. Since I was “forced” to order something I ordered it to go. (For your information, Everything was overpriced)There was service charge of $7 on the order I took to go. I do not understand what service I received that costed me $7? I ordered chicken skewers and the desert of the day which was chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream as I was told but there was no vanilla ice cream in my bag and the cake was dry as hell.I felt very much disrespected and fooled by this uninformed/ obligatory policies of Drom. I didn’t feel considered as a customer. I wasn’t really upset about the money I spent but I was really upset about the fact that I was forced to pay for this poor service.By the way I purchased an extra ticket upon my arrival at the door for one extra person. Emre told me “ we only accept cash”. In the heart of New York City , in 2023, at such a place you only giving your customers one payment option is ridiculous. Plus nobody gave me a receipt for that ticket. Cash purchase with no receipt? Was it tax free? This whole experience made me question your business’ work ethics and honesty.Very much disappointed…I was proud for a second to know that this business is owned by Turkish people yet my experience proved that this business is really owned by Turkish people. :(

I bought tickets for a concert at Drom and we showed up not aware that everyone in the group needs to be over 21. I understand that this is a bar and I understand the need to be strict, but the treatment of the staff was so hostile and degrading that we left very disappointed. I was super excited, but after this experience I would never go back.

Love this place, great sound, had the chance to perform there many times, great international musicians!

I just want to point out that we were a mixed group and only the white people in our group were elligible to get in. This is the only place I have ever encountered that in Canada. My friends ended up leaving the place as some other groups who saw the incident! It is sad but real. Stay strong 💫

Dec 4th. Aggressive concert attendee attacked my wife and I in our VIP seating while watching a concert. Staff and security were nowhere to be found.

The place was ok, not bad but not what I expected. It was 80’s night and the music was ok but could have been alot better. So many 80’s hits and they choose underground music, still decent though. The guy outside handing out flyers said the entrance was $5 and the guy inside said it was $10. I wasn’t about to argue and ruin my night. I just didn’t tip anyone

If youre a transwoman this is NOT a safe place for you. The security guard intentionally misgendered me and grabbed me and then demanded I use the mens room. This is not Florida! I was volunteering for a celebration of life party there and I had to leave early because I was so shaken from how I was treated. And to ad insult to injury management has not responded to my email or phone calls. This place needs to do better.

Great live music. Cover charge and 2 drink minimum at the tables, so grab a seat by the bar if you can.

The stage section is not ideal to watch live performances but we enjoyed the show regardless of that. Drinks are ok. I think beers are like 10 dollars.Update: Sorry, the owner is right. Let me clarify. The receipt was 48 dollars for 5 bottled imported beers. So it is like 9.60 dollars and more importantly with tax added. With tip, I paid 60 dollars.

We visited on a Friday night show for Schtickit. The show was incredible and would def return to see it again. The ambiance is great and every seat has a good view since it is an intimate space. The food was mediocre. I would just order fries if you want to snack on something. Did not enjoy the cava. Will try a cocktail next time.

I think the minimum price to have a table is a little too out there, but they have amazing artists come perform so I guess its up to you to decide how you want to spend your money

This place is such a vibe. Went on a Tuesday to see a performance and I was loving the place. There was a drink with Mezcal and grapefruit.... omg!!! Amazing!!! Will definitely go again and enjoy the vibe and beautiful performances from local artists.

Great venue, great music. Just keep in mind that in order to sit, you need to pay additional $20/person for food and/or drink. There is some standing room, but staff and waiters are constantly moving around you. Bottom line: dont eat dinner before you go to Drom.

A great music venue and bar. It is intimate and has a nice drink set up. The staff are super nice and music was good. Its a Turkish influenced bar so you get a nice balance of eastern/western vibes.

The host/waitress started out good, but when I had to send my fish back because it was not fresh and smelled bad...she had an attitude and did not return to the table to ask if we needed anything else or even apologized. She completely ignored us...unprofessionalism at its best!

Amazing place. Good for listening to nice music while you enjoy drinks and a bite. I went there with a few of my friends and we had a good time. We got a bottle of wine for about $40-50. A drink would cost about $15-20. We enjoyed our wine with some tasty Guacamole and chips.

The Show was Excellent. However, we ordered food and after waiting over an hour and a half we cancelled the order. The waitress said she couldnt do that and shed have to speak to her Manager! Well after about going back and forth the order was finally cancelled. She brought us the bill for our drinks and had the nerve to include a tip..Sorry we dont tip for bad service!

Amazing spot for a variety of live music enthusiasts. Basic bar menu. Only been there on a Saturday night and the crowd always seems friendly. Come early if you want to pay to sit at a table or at the bar for free. The ratio of standing room to fixed seating is 3:1 and on a good nights the space can get cozy.

Minimum charge per person at and event and charged a gratuity automatically. All good ideas but given these were not very upfront details, maybe add some signage to the front of the venue explaining this.

Had one of the worst experiences yesterday! The concert was set to start at 8pm but began at 9pm.. the management didn’t do anything about it indicating their disrespectful attitude towards customers/audience!

Drom was the absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced in New York which is saying something. I went to the Schtick it to the pole show which was great but halfway through the show the waitress told us we needed to order more food because there was a $20 minimum per person and that we should have known because the person who sat us should have told us. We were sat by the manager herself and she did not mention the minimum when we sat down so we truly had no idea and weren’t prepared to spend any extra money. The minimum would have been fine as it is pretty standard for this type of show, but it was nowhere on the ticket and they didn’t tell us until halfway through the show. At the end of the show they brought a check for $65 and said we had ordered everything on it when we had only ordered one item. Then the manager came over and started screaming in our faces that we needed to pay and that she was calling the cops because we were trying to skip out on the check. She asked to see our IDs which she snatched and started screaming that we were under age after we had showed her our IDs showing that we were of age. She then started screaming that she was going to call the cops because we were underage which doesn’t even make sense because even if we were it would be her fault for not checking at the door. We were trying to remain calm and respectful and the staff really ruined the night. Don’t come here its not worth it.

The music was good, but there was a $10 cover for an empty bar/club. Drinks were a little overpriced and they add 18% gratuity to every bill. Had 2 well drinks and paid about $40. I would go back if I was with a group of friends.

Small place for enjoying musical events. We came to see a Cuban piano Trio that was recommended by a friend. Admission included a meal. Really enjoyed the Chicken, Black Beans and Rice and Sweet Plantains. Sangria was a little small for the price but that wouldnt stop me from going back.

Went there for a day party. Security performs a thorough pat down before allowing entry. Bar is pricey considering the Lower East Side location where you can easily find better deals. As a performance venue, the speaker system is really good for the size of the venue. Stage is small and may be tough to see depending on where youre positioned.

This place is a nice club for live music, however seating is limited, there is no beer on tap and bottled beer is overpriced. The sound is good though.

Drinks are pretty expensive for a bar this size. Went there for a Turkish night and the DJ was terrible, everyone asked him to turn it up a bit which he refused. Everyone in the club got bored and left early. Wouldnt wanna waste my time with this place again. Oh, the bartenders are really kind though.

Cool venue with some of the best funky acts. Definitely a sweet venue to just drop in whether or not you know the performers. Food is definitely better than your typical bar/venue and portions are big.

Nice music venue to watch live music in East Village. Seating available if you order food and drinks (2 min/person). Decent list of cocktails and appetizers to choose from at reasonable prices. It turned into a Latin club after metal/alternative bands which was an interesting switch.

I hope Turkish artist could come to different and better organization in NY. Drom makes feel everyone regretted in every time for every artist. I don’t give a nickel for there again.

The night was incredible, ruined only by the WORST bartenders. Theyre unclear about minimums, theyre a**holes when it comes to paying, theyre patronizing about IDs, and they honestly made some of the worst cocktails Ive ever tasted south of 125th street. Go for the party, not for the bar.

Saw the Brazilian funk/percussion group Philly Bloco here. The place wasnt uncomfortably packed but rather there were just enough people there to foster a nice dancing atmosphere. The drinks were reasonably priced, and we got great seats at a table with a two drink minimum. Ill definitely be back!

Went to a gig, had some drinks and food. Great service, food was above average for a venue like this and good value. Nice bar selection. No draft beer though. DROM is a venue thats within walking distance of some subway lines. Ive taken the R or 6 train, and the walk is usually 15 minutes or so. I would not consider this neighborhood the East Village, it is more Alphabet City to me.There is an ATM located within the venue and theres $2 coat check. Theres one, somewhat small, unisex bathroom on the main level (I dont know if there were others). The venue staff is super friendly. I didnt have to wait long to get a bartenders attention. While appetizers came steadily throughout the night, I was not impressed with the food. Average to below average tasting.Overall, DROMs a nice venue I would check out again.

I attended an event here about three months ago, and the place is easily located and nicely set up as an event space. My only problem was the issue with large crowds exiting and entering. The food is pricy but no complaints over its quality and water and soda were provided free of charge during the event. This is a plus because the event Id attended there included minors.

Drom is a cool venue off the beaten path. The artists and shows that frequent this venue are a good representation of New Yorks underground. Bartenders and doormen are always pleasant and the food isnt half bad. Get there early to get a spot closest to the stage. Kitchen stays open late so enjoy the show and the food.

I have been here many times before but the DJ and owner were incredibly rude on Turkish night. Avoid this place if you don’t like to have your requested songs played and owner talk you down AS A PAYING CUSTOMER, that PAID FOR A TICKET for a relatively empty club. I am so confused, if the DJ is not playing a QUINTESSENTIAL FAMOUS TURKISH SINGER because he hates him?? like okay?? did i ask your opinion on him? really weird vibes

This place has a weird layout. There are a bunch of columns blocking the stage and all of the tables were taken when I got there to listen to my friend play. It was very uncomfortable standing for the duration of the concert trying to peak around the corners of the columns. To sit you needed to order food, but I had already paid a $12 cover to stand uncomfortably for 2hrs. The drinks were also very overpriced, $7 bucks for bad bottled beer and no drink special after paying a cover fee to enter on a Wednesday night? Come on.

Had a great time and the menu is very affordable. I am happy that I was invited here for an annual event that I loved. This has been by far my favorite venue they used thus far. The security for the night was kind and welcoming.

Nice artists. Generally standing only, unless you would like to pay extra for lounge seating. It is recessed to stage right and does not face the stage, so actually seeing the stage from there is challenging. Staff is friendly.

The place has a good vibe a lot of people go to this place. The drinks are good. I like the sound system compared to the one they had previously. I really enjoyed the performance there.

Went here for the LGBTQ+ hot rabbit Friday (free entrance if you know the password so sign up for their emails) and it was OHkay. The music was good, not much of a variety but it was good. Would have been better if the crowd was actually involved. Everyone was kind of standing around doing their own thing. The drinks were ehhh, got my usual vodka soda and couldnt tasted the vodka much. My review is based off Friday specifically, dont know what its like on the other days.

Its always a good time, there is quality live music and the atmosphere is great: intimate but not claustrophobic, with good sound as well! Its large enough to have space for dancing and small enough to feel cosy. recommended venue is lower Manhattan!

I did not know what to expect when I went to Drom to hear a series of concerts the other night with a friend. The cover was only $10 and there were I believe 4 different bands playing. They werent all amazing, but I loved the variety and the enthusiasm of the performers. They focus on international music, so this night there were mostly reggae bands playing. We thought our server was rude until we realized he didnt speak English very well. All good. I wouldnt mind going back to check it out again some time, especially seeing as there were actually people dancing here!!

Staff was great, very friendly. Nice small place to see some music. Food was okay, drinks were great. Took a while to park, but it is Manhattan. Had a great time, would definitely go again.

My friend and I had such a horrible experience. We purchased a ticket for the Sebnem Ferah concert a month ago from a VIP first-tier section. We paid $100 for our ticket, not including the tax. Soon as we arrived, we checked with the person that was going to show us our seat. Even though we paid for the VIP first tier, the manager said she gave our seat the people that arrived before us. It was ridiculous that we had to sit in the second section. What is the reason then us buying a seat ticket if they are going to do first come and first serve? She did not offer any refunds, and the only thing she suggested was giving us free sodas. I dont recommend this place to anyone. They dont know how to manage this place. The waiters and the manager were incredibly rude and not professional.I can’t reply to your feedback for some reason, but I wanted to add what I have to say here. First of all, I was not giving first-tier seats, and I have proof off it on my Instagram account; you can check it too. Second of all, I PAID for VIP first TIER section, and you did not do any favor when you made me sit on the second tier. Yes, I did not order the minimum. Because I was not supposed to sit in the second section. How could you think that I was going to order something to eat ? I was not going to order more food so you can have more money in your pocket. I paid for 100$ for those tickets, and you put me, someone, next to who paid way less than me. I already spoke to those two people who sit next to us, and they showed us their ticket. I was seated in the back and had a hard time seeing Sebnem Ferah. As I said, you can check the images I have posted. You can’t expect us to respect your organization because you bring Turkish Artists to America. I went to Tarkans and Sezen Aksus Concert, and none of the organizations handled like this. Youre selling the people the ticket while not having enough seats. This act is not acceptable.

Ive visited DROM on 2 occasions. One for a Samba band from Philly and another for a Lucid networking event.According to the waitstaff, the menu has been revamped. I ordered grilled chicken cubes and it was just the right combination of proportions, seasoning and salad. There is a bar area, an area with tables, as well as an elevated lounge area. You can choose to be social on your feet, or you can relax at the lounge with drinks, or have dinner at the tables. Theres something for every mood if you have fickle friends who dont know what they want to do.The music they brought in was great. One time I heard a south American singer, Gregorio Uribe, and the other time a Samba band.

Food is so so but ambiance and music depending which group plays so worth the price.

Horrible management I have purchased 2 tickets to zeynep bastik event I paid around $160 and program got cancelled and this place didn’t refund the money instead of refund they said oh sorry we can’t. This is literally same thing as stealing money they did took my money and I did not get any service. I have try to contact several time but same answer at the beginning and later they didn’t even respond to that so If is there people like me please reach out I already have 3 more people with me and my lawyer ready to take full responsibility.We are going to stand up for ourselves

A great food, bar and performance space -- always something worth seeing here, and a chill/friendly staff to help you shake off some of the East Village pretension you may have run into in other nearby bars.Pro tip: Try to catch the monthly comedy + pole dancing show, Schtick A Pole In It, which has a new musical theme each time. Short standup segments are punctuated by local pole dancing acts -- always a great and unique show!

Worst place Ive ever seen. A place where you can be discriminated against by rude people. I spent two hours going there and having fun and it was my worst decision. Do yourself a favor and dont waste your money there.

DROM is a great venue for live music. It is also good if you enjoy older music from the 70s 80s and 90s. Staff is pretty friendly and drinks are of reasonable price.

Its a lovely looking venue with nice bartenders, good sound and a lot of potential. Its too bad the blond female manager with an Eastern European accent ruins everything else. She is rude and nasty not to mention a thief. We watched her clear coats that were left on the stage. When one of the members of my party approached her to ask where she had put his personal items, she yelled at him and said she wasnt responsible for lost or stolen items and he shouldve used the coat check. ... but… we protested, we watched you take them… To which she replied that we could all get out. Oh, I forgot to mention that two of our partys members were the DJs for the first three hours of the evening.

Had a great time at Drom!! People that attended the night I went were very friendly and the front doorman or bouncer was not overly friendly....bar staff were great but the drinks I found to be a little bit overpriced...$26+ tip for 2 drinks...and not doubkes!!! Had a great time at DROM...and thats what matters most.

Drom located at 85 Ave A is back in full swing.This venue is aware of the covid 19 situation and doeseverything in its power to protect their workers and guestsat all times.That said Drom is back with a wide variety of eclectic nightsmy favorites has to be the Industrial Goth events ,which was precededby a heavy client/guest base ofSpanish music.It was great to get back to this venue with Hula the manager at the helm she really knows how to cater to all her guests and step into any situation that needs her assistance.From all the bartenders to the busboys to the security Drom always hires the finest staff..I always feel warm and welcomed here each and every time I come here.Kudos to Hula and all her staff for maintaining a very positive vide andsafe environment to everyone who wanders through their doors.I went back to Drom for their monthly Stimulate Event,a Goth,Industrial event with many DJS and Bands.....I personally Love this venue for so many reasons....The atmosphere,whenever I walk in here even if its been many months I really do feel at home..That comes directly from the head Manager herself Hulya..I must admit Ive worked and been to many bars clubs throughout the years and TBH...Hulya has to be one of the best managers around..Shes nice and friendly to all and when need be she can handle any problem or difficulty.Besides the Stimulate I went to tonite..Drom has many different kinds of acts there...This place knows how to be diversified with acts from many nations and types of music..Bartender Shirley is great and awesome to say the least..Hey even after I havent been to Drom for at least 4 months Shirley remembered what I drank..Wow....Shirley is always friendly and treats people well.....Shirley and the rest of the Drom staff puts together one rockin venue..Thanks Hulya for all you do!!!!

I went on a Friday night. I asked for water and the bartender informed me that a bottle costs $5. I clarified that I wanted tap water and he rudely dismissed me. Then when I asked again, he called over a woman who I took to be the manager, who asked me what the problem was. After I calmly explained what had happened, she had one of the bouncers shove me out the door despite that I was in no way resisting him or posing a threat. This is the worst Ive been treated at a bar in NYC (all over refusing to pay $5 for something that should be free). Needless to say, I will not be returning.

A farewell for a friend at this venue was the most enjoyable experience. Great food, drinks and ambience. Entertaining comedians with intervals of performances to a theme of Janet Jackson.

Went to Schtick a Pole in it and it was fabulous! Food was decent. The brussel sprouts were suppose to come with quinoa and didnt. When I asked about it, they brought a thimble sized tasting of uncooked quinoa. The show made up for it!

This place is hidden away underground! Be very mindful when youre trying to find it. They always have a nice selection of artists performing, and the space is large enough without being too large, if you know what I mean. Its a good place to hold a private event. My only gripe with it is, as I mentioned, its underground, so the sign that lets you know where it is could be a little better positioned. DROM had the potential to earn five stars because it is a hidden jewel of a spot. However, if a two item minimum is going to be imposed, then there should be a wait staff equipped to deal with the guests. THE SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! We received our food one hour after we ordered and at the END of the show we were attending. RIDICULOUS! Then the audacity to add 18% gratuity to the bill.

This is a really good party place. I went to a bunch of latin-spanish off the hook events, where we danced all night long. Furthermore, the concerts are amazing, specially the brasilean bands. They have a variety of drinks, I am glad i can get my fav the Kahlua with the correct amount of ice!

Pass this place by. It is absolutely not worth anybodys time. I have to mention before I get into my story that it was raining alot, when I got to the bottom of the stairs I was met by a tile floor, I slipped but thank God did not fall, the owners of this place didnt even have the wherewith all to put a slip resistant mat on the tile floor. (This kind of lets you know where the rest of my story is going). There were two good bands scheduled, their sets seemed to be rushed to fit in a third unscheduled band, the third band was not good entertainment at all, where this third band came from is beyond me, one guy was playing an accordion, nuff said. The drinks are way over priced, two drinks cost me 25.00, thats crazy, the owners must think they are located in the diamond district, its a dive. The end all for me was after the two good bands played, Drom decided to put about ten tables out for the bad bands onlookers, which werent many,, oh yes sorry I forgot to mention, throughout the first two performances most of the onlookers had to stand up, WHY???I will never, let me repeat never patronize this poorly managed spot again. STAY AWAY!!! There are too many good spots in New York to go to other then wasting your time and money coming here. I didnt try the food, it probably sucked anyway. How the heck do you have a food menu and no place for your customers to set down and eat it? THIS PLACE SUCKS.................

DROM is a great music venue. Food is average. Drinks are average (and about average priced). The music is top-notch. Great talent from all genres and areas. I saw Araab-Muzik play here to a half-packed room and loved every second. Go to support the bands- not for the food or drinks.

The live music was absolutely awesome . The dinner was good and the wait staff very nice. The place was quaint and casual and fun was had listening to a cover of Buena Vista.

Its an semi-insignificant midsized lounge, (with much unused potential) great for watching live music events or doing whatever dives tours. Use the photo booth carefully bc it doesnt give u change so pay wisely (Otherwise its great for a date move). The one aspect that lost my attention and respect, respectively, was their INSULTING lack of even a hint of effort on interior design. Ugly lack of coherent decor which nauseated me when i was sober then throwing up after overpriced beers. Decent venue to hear coverbands play - heard Unforgettable Fire play here (U2 coverband) and they were awesome! They stop selling tickets online at 5 p.m. but you can purchase tickets at the door if theyre still available.

Great place in East Village. Drom is one of the best premier music venue in NYC. Great place to enjoy live music around the world. Also try their Tomato Bruschetta and Mediterranean Plate.

Drom is a place to listen to great live music, sometimes awesome ethnic bands that you cannot hear any place else. I happened to bump into a very good jazz music on a nice spring Sunday afternoon.

The venue itself is fine. The bartenders were cool and knew their craft. The party I went to there was more than a little disorganized.

Place was nice but food wasn’t that good waitress is very nasty so pushy kept telling me to order and didn’t crack a smile she also didn’t tell me the tip was included and it was 4 people. terrible service. Wouldn’t go back

Nice venue. Good music and reasonable drink prices. They have great intermission dancers which was a nice treat

Nice place, live music, shows and good food. Checkout the pole+comedy show once a month. Best show in town.

The bouncer is rude as hell and very aggressive.You guys need to educate your bouncers in civility.Other than that good music and nice bar staff.
