I took my girlfriend on date night at hotel Chantelle and it didnt disappoint. I wish I could take away .5 star for no live band on Friday nightThe foods & cocktails were great, especially we got a great online deal. The ambience was to the point, great bar flowers decoration, love the classic lamp post. The dish highlight was charred octopus (starter) I would say 75% was cooked well the rest was chewy, but they were tasty. I tried pineapple express (it was great summer cocktail). The entree: Branzino and steak were good but not that special.Overall highly recommended for the cocktails.
Food presentation was on point. Eggs were perfectly cooked, and home fries well seasoned. The steak was decent, but overall the meal was good. The ambiance was charming, it effortlessly transports you into a quaint setting surrounded by beautiful decor, and the live music was a nice perk. Definitely recommend coming here whether it’s for two or a group. Service was spot on, and the drinks were decent.
Hotel Chantelle is a fantastic place to enjoy some great food and drinks. The restaurant at the top of the hotel is particularly charming, with a cute and cozy atmosphere that makes it perfect for a romantic date or a night out with friends. The cocktails here are particularly noteworthy, with pitchers of delicious drinks that are perfect for sharing. The food is also excellent, with a great selection of dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite. Overall, Hotel Chantelle is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a fun and memorable night out in New York City. What my friends and I order are the Tuna tartare cigars and two of the vegan ceviche. Delicious.Keep in mind that their menu doesn’t have a large selection, but it has a great atmosphere and delicious drinks.
Attended a Halloween burlesque event here. The show was amazing and the food and drinks were perfect. I absolutely loved that each table had a small dish of candy on it. The white truffle flatbread was decadent. I loved the paella and the chicken dish was very tasty and fresh as well. The strawberry margaritas were on point.
If youre looking for a brunch experience that combines affordability, great service, delicious food, and LATINO music, look no further than Hotel Chantelle! My friends and I had an absolutely amazing time at Hotel Chantelle this past Saturday! From start to finish, the hospitality and service provided by the staff were exceptional.Special thanks to John G and Juliana for going above and beyond to make our experience truly memorable. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail ensured that we felt welcomed and taken care of throughout our visit. We will definitely be back soon!
Hotel Chantelle... the building, the entrance, the indoor bar... nah... BUT walk up the stairs and WOW!!! Such a beautiful terrace!!! And yes!!! Drinks and party!!! Great experience! Food is delicious, drinks are fresh and chic. We didnt get the unlimited drinks for 1 hour and 1/2 cuz we wanted to try the beautiful cocktails. We had fun and great to be out with your girlfriends. Highly recommend for brunch.
This place is very well done. I promised myself Id have a sober Sunday but the second we walked in the vibe was too fun to not order a drink. The menu felt a bit limited, but it was was well focused with some solid options.Nothing blew us away but the food was solid, our waitress was great and the vibe is fun.Would definitely come back.
Nowadays, when I go out at night I like to go the the place that have seats rather than dancing empty floor. Hotel Chantelle has such a wonderful rooftop seating. I came to this place twice, one was late night partying with tons of people and hard to find a table and another time a little bit earlier and again no table available at that time. My group still okay with that, we just enjoy drinks and talking.
Is it just me or is outside hella expensive now?! Anyways, don’t eat here chile. The food is mediocre to be honest & definitely wasn’t worth nearly $300 (with tip) 🙃. Something I will say is that all of the staff here is VERY friendly & provide really good service. Unfortunately the food wasn’t up to par :/.Our friends ordered (2) orders of the chicken & waffles, which they said were meh. I ordered the eggs Benedict with avocado & my boyfriend got the MOA Burger. Which we thought tasted bland. The tater tots carries the menu on its back tbh. Only good thing here. The DRINKS are very good, I will admit that. I would come back here after eating already & just get drunk for $35 lol.
This place is picture taking worthy. Nice for brunch. But be careful to have to much fun, you will be told to relax--even though our party was getting the whole place happy. Mind you this is the day before Halloween, let loose a bit.The food was good besides that breakfast pizza. That needs to not be served ever again in life. The chicken waffles--- DO NOT FEAR THE COTTON CANDY it actual meshes will with the bite. The individual mimosa at the bar was amazing vs the group mimosa at the table was lacking. Definitely not the same. Also be sure to eat fast because the servers will literally take plate with food that is still being worked on. You would think the servers wanted the food for themselves. I was taking a chicken and waffle and the server was pulling the plate and left with the waffle. I was there for 5 mins with the chicken on my fork in shock. Like did we just fight over the food. Also brunch is FAMILY STYLE-- everyone dig in style.Parking is tough. But its in the city so what you expect. There are stairs too. If you plan to drink drink, think about the stairs.
Did the Bossa Nova dinner package. At first it was all about the band and hoping the food was good. The band did an awesome job. However to me, they took a back seat to the food. FOOD WAS AMAZING. Did not care to much for the cocktails. But the FOOD?... wow. The muscles, the tuna cigar, the steak, the fries and the Salmon were the attraction for US... compliments to the chef. That batch was GOOD.
Such a wonderful place to visit. If you have reservations, make sure to honor them or you will be charged a fee per person if youre late! Loved the fact they have a rooftop area that can be enclosed. It was great until a few raindrops decided to show up smh Dont get me wrong, it was still good; just kinda hard to have a conversation since it got louder due to the music and other patrons. The drinks were good and the food was great. Would definitely visit again!
I’ve heard about this place as one of the popular brunch spots, decided to try it for a late Saturday night dinner. I enjoyed the customer service and ambiance. The decor was quite different from what I saw online, they did step up their game with just a touch of floral roses around the restaurant. But, enough of the ambiance. The food was great. I had the Pan Roasted Salmon (with mashed potatoes) and Deviled Egg Tasting. I also ordered the truffle tater tots, which were bomb. The drinks were great. You’re actually able to do a 90 minute bottomless drinks for about $40 per person for dinner time. (They also have a 90 minute max to occupant policy) The disclosure on the price is why I gave this place four stars. The drinks were delicious, I had the Pineapple Express which was spicy and sweet. My waiter was able to even give us to go cups for the drinks we weren’t able to finish. Also, a little bit of disclosure the restaurant only has cooling fans and I did go on one of the hottest afternoons this year so it was a little humid. I recommend going sundown or on a cooler day. As for COVID precautions, the tables are cleaned before you are seated. They also give you antibacterial wipes as well as the workers keep their masks on the entire time. In the humid weather, I respect the workers for always keeping their masks on and I truly appreciate the work they do to contain a safe environment.
Scam warning ⛔️Be warned if you go for the “open bar ticket”, they did not honor it. We were first in line before the venue opened, yet they wouldn’t let us (or anyone) in until 15-20mins after the “free hour” began. We asked the venue/event staff if they’d give us an hour from when they opened the door and they refused. i.e. they refused to honor the terms of the ticket we purchased.Nothing against the bartenders who were all great.
The food was really good, the place was really nicely decorated. They had a live DJ. The place is a little loud But you can still enjoy your time here. I went to celebrate my brothers birthday. If you are going to celebrate a birthday let them know when making the reservation so they tell you about the birthday packages. Price was it was $$. You can come here with a group and have a good time
I’m a sucker for a rooftop and this one was very well done! Really nice aesthetic. Drinks are a little pricey but the fries were worth it.
Ambiance and vibe are great. Service was good as well. The food for brunch was the worst food Ive ever experienced in a major city. Dry pizza, terrible frozen tasting waffles, and eggs that taste like they came from a powder. Do not eat here, but its good for drinks and hanging out.
The food was great. Wagyu Steak Friteswas made medium well as asked and was perfect in texture and flavor. The Signature Truffle Tator Tots were amazing big recommend! The Fritto Misto lightly battered lobster, jumbo shrimp scallop, calamari, was buttery bread, perfectly crunchy and crisp. This is a loud environment very livelyThe drink that I had was amazing called Pineapple Express sweet and strongAlthough this was a great part of the experience. My service was completely dissatisfactory. Our server took 25 minutes to get our drinks. Our table was rarely checked on. It then took twenties minutes to bring my bill to the table. when I received my bill it had given me the option to decide what Gratuity. Then I had wanted to add a coupon and needed a new bill. when I received my second bill 20 minutes later. My server didn’t inform me of the gratuity would be included, Also it being at 18%. which is not what I would have given for very slow, inattentive service, and neglecting to inform me.
The vibe, drinks and the live music was really nice and I would probably go back for that. The food and service does not match that. We waited for a while for the food to come to our table and when it was finally there it was lukewarm. We got the chicken and waffles and the eggs Benedict with avocado. The waffle was crispy and chicken was barely warm and it seemed like it was sitting in the kitchen for a while. They forgot the maple syrup and we had to ask for it. I didnt bother telling the waiter about the chicken being damp and cold since I didnt want yo wait another half hr for the food to come back to the table. The eggs Benedict was good but again, it was barely warm.We got the flourless chocolate cake which was really nice but the sad part was that when it came to the table it seemed that the ice cream had melted on the plate (check out the picture attached). It was a nice desert but when you know that it was just sitting in the kitchen for a while it kills it for you.It is a nice brunch place but dont expect much from the service.
I went for a day party and the experience was poor. The bartender made the drinks very weak and when I ordered a double shot drink it was $41! It’s crazy expensive for lack luster service. My friend wanted extra liquor on her double shot drink and the bartender brushed her off and took someone else order. It’s not worth it coming here honestly. Drinks are not worth it and you can’t order a pitcher without getting a bottle which is RIDICULOUS
The drinks were terrible and tasted bad. The drinks were watered down I had to keep asking the bartender to add more liquor and he ignored me. I bought 3 drinks from this spot and they were bad. I offered to pay extra just to make the drink stronger down to a manager had to make the drink. A double shot cost $41 dollars which is ridiculous. Small spot but its calm I wouldnt go to this spot again
Unsurprising for this kind of venue, but heads up that tickets to the one-hour open bar is a scam. We paid for an open bar from 6 - 7 PM. They didnt open the venue until closer to 6:30 PM, then refused to extend the open bar past 7 PM to account for their own lateness.
Probably one of the worst establishments I’ve ever been to. Bouncers are all disrespectful and have a superiority complex. They tell you your ID is fake and have some teenage boys take you across the street to “ help you” where they make you pay $$ to get in. They let underage kids in through separate entrances. It’s clear they have a little extortion side business with all the teenagers I saw getting in. I got charged $19 for a Moscow Mule that I’m pretty sure was just lime juice. This place is a joke and so are the people who work there. Trying to get in with a ticket I already paid for ahead of time felt like I was being interrogated lol. The staff there are just a bunch of insecure bullies. A stressful job ≠ aggression and lack of basic human kindness. If I had the money I’d rent a billboard and plaster this review on it. Please do not even waste your time here, there are much better bars/clubs in the area that won’t harass and extort you.
They sell your phone number and will forever spam you with texts that you can’t block.I bought tickets online to a single event here and they required a phone number. This was almost a year ago and I still get 3-4 very annoying texts a week advertising clubs or rooftop parties in NYC. Each text is from a new number so blocking or reporting spam does nothing and I know it’s from this place because I’m not even from NYC. This is the only place I gave my number to when I was in town and now I basically have phone herpes.
Cozy rooftop that offers the comfort and atmosphere of a local neighborhood eatery while also delivering the 5 PM on Friday vibe. You’re here to unwind as a precursor for what’s to come next. The food and drinks are a tick above average, I enjoyed the $1 happy hour oysters, but that’s not what brought you to this establishment. You come to Hotel Chantelle for the feeling it imparts upon you which dances between chic rooftop and local LES watering hole. This is a great option for drinks before dinner or a nightcap before you head home with that special someone.
I’m never coming back here again. I lost my wallet here (actually the bouncers took it from me) and when I returned to get it, they refused to give me back my own property.Update: I got my wallet back and everything was there except the cash and one of the credit cards
The devil eggs was ok, yet enjoyable. I had the braised short rib that was cooked to perfection and was so tender. The truffle fries was very great. The drinks was on point. Of you dont mind spending $$$$ for food def check them out. They have upgraded their kitchen.Def wasnt like this the first time I came for someones birthday a few years back.
Love the vibe and music. Staff was very friendly and attentive even the bouncers/security were cool. The food was spectacularly delicious. Those onion rings were well done and my steak was exactly how I wanted it ( mid-rare). I went with my husband, my kids ( yes, kids are allowed on the roof top) and his family, celebrating his birthday.
I paid $90 for VIP tickets to get in tonight to celebrate my friend’s birthday. The bouncers wouldn’t even let me and my friends into the club. We asked different bouncers at different entry points where the VIP access entrance is, given our prepaid tickets. They said they don’t know and they don’t care. We went next door and had a great time. We are VERY disappointed. I wanted to let future patrons know that this could happen to them as well. I don’t know any reason why we wouldn’t be allowed in with tickets.
My friends and I paid $90 to have VIP rooftop access, a part of our night we were very much looking forward to. Once we arrived we were denied access to the rooftop for a “private event” in which me and my friends were the only ones there. No refund was offered either which is extremely unfair and a complete waste of money for us. The lack of communication is unacceptable as well. If they knew there was a “private event”and there were VIP tickets to access that area on that same night, there should have been some sort of communication to us, letting us know of the change. I am extremely disappointed and would like to make other patrons aware that this could also possibly happen to them in the future.
I love Hotel Chantelle. It has three levels, so it is a nice size with lots of variety in music and atmosphere. Everyones favorite is the rooftop. In the summer the roof is open and in the winter months, they close the roof, but you still get the sense that you are outside. They have live music events and great foods here! If you go once, you will most likely visit again.
Don’t you love it when people lie to your face? Guy at the door says: “ok, it’s $150 bar tab until 430 am. The bar tab is to keep the bar open.”At 330 am, we get ushered out of the place. “Time to go!”I mean, not surprising for NYC but it sucks to be lied to. Embarrassing when we got friends from out of town visiting. Just saying.
I went here for a day event and had a horrible experience. One of the bartenders at the bar (blonde, white) took my unfinished drink as I was ordering a round of shots for my friends. I commented on this and they said, quite rudely and dismissively, “we don’t take any drinks that are not empty”. But I knew I was only halfway through my drink that was taken away. When I got the bill, I didn’t tip and wrote “you took my drink that wasn’t empty” instead. The lady at the bar gave me the fist & mouthed “you’re going to get kicked out” then proceeded to get the bouncers to kick me out. They wouldn’t even let me get my jacket and kicked me out onto the streets. This was my worst club experience in New York by far. I would never advise going here if you value having a good experience & your belongings.
We had such a good time at Hotel Chantelle on Saturday night! We had a 9:15 reservation for dinner and dinner was delicious and the drinks were not watered down at all. Truffle pizza was really good. We then went down to the main floor for the party and had such an amazing time. The music was great and so were the drinks. 10/10 birthday experience!
Food was great. Atmosphere was lively. Service was horrible. It felt as of the waitress forgot about us. Then apologized... sent out a dessert (that my wife was allergic to) Never offered us any dessert menus or after dinner drinks. Instead told us the kitchen was closed, and dropped a bill. And even charged us for the dessert we did not order. Which was her apology for ignoring us 👎👎👎
I ate on the second floor. The ambiance is dim and not conducive to eating. Lighting poor is so poor that I cant even see menu to order. I had to use the flashlight from my phone.I went when it wasnt too busy (8pm) and it got busier during evening. For appetizers- squid and duck patte. The squid was burnt and I could not take squid. The patte was better.Entre:Seared tuna with Edamame purée - was goodPrawns/ crab pasta - comes with the shrimp and mixed pieces of crab with lemon butterSteak - with sauce and pieces of potatoes (Im not fan of steak with sauce. Im not of steak with some salt and pepperThe food was ok. I was surprised there charged$3 for premium water service. Ive never seen a place charge tap. It was no premium service, we ran out of water and I had to ask for more.We told them we were there to celebrate a birthday and there brought over bread pudding, but we were charged$9 for it. Normally restaurants provide that as complimentary. Maybe this is for higher end establishments.
This place is great is you have time and money to splurge. The main attraction to the place is the rooftop bar. However, we were relegated to the 1st floor. It appears they rent out the rooftop for private events. Anyhow, the food was over priced. The fondue costs more than the skirt steak (how is cheese more expensive than steak?) . A personal pan pizza is $26 (drunken chicken) ; however, it was the best Ive ever had. The cocktails are clever and well made I suggest this place if you want to show off for a 1st date. Make sure you go the rooftop, its what makes this place worth the trip. Be sure to make reservations as they take that very seriously.
With some of the negative reviews I was very concerned about checking this place out.My experience was wonderful. The music was great, the food was delicious. I had the chicken and waffle with cotton candy cloud on top. The drink was off the hook no watering down the drinks here, the bartender makes a mean Mojito
I was actually apprehensive going here bc I looked over the menu before going and I didn’t see anything that really caught my eye. Initially, I got invited to go out bc my sister in law had a group on. She also mentioned that it was a roof top so I decided to try it. I’m so glad it that I did! We had the Brussels sprouts, salmon and avocado toast. All were delicious! The scenery is also very New York-ish and a DJ comes later in the evening. It’s a must try !
Adam was the best!! He took perfect and amazing care of me and my group and I am so grateful he was there to make us feel safe and comfortable!
If youre looking to book this venue for an event, please read: We provided decor services for a wedding at this venue, when we picked up our decor many items were missing. We reached out to both the bride and the venue regarding our missing decor, in which the venue informed us that they found the missing items. When we returned to the venue to pickup the rest of our decor (which we had to charge the bride a pickup fee), the majority of our decor were still missing and one was returned broken. Be aware that if you are planning an event here and have hired any type of outside vendor, please note that youll end up having to be responsible for unplanned expenses of no fault of your own.
We reserved the “2 hour dining experience” with shared food for the table at 9:15. The food was incredible and the waitress was good. But around 10:30 they start rushing us and taking tables away from us to set up for their club environment. (we were a large group). We paid for 2 hours of bottomless cocktails, but ended up having to fight to ensure this even happened, and they messed up the last round of cocktails. Again, the food was fantastic. The environment, though, was disappointing. If we were spending $700+ for a 2 hour experience, don’t cut it short to set up for the club atmosphere. Or, don’t offer 9:15 reservations.
Came here for a dinner via a groupon and we had the opportunity 10 Dollar Pretzel and the cotton candy waffle chicken both really awesome. For our entrees we got the diver scallops and wild mushroom raviolis also great and filling. The service was fantastic, would love to go again. Fortunately the groupon made it worth it for sure.
The staff is phenomenal and is what makes this place so awesome. The bartenders are awesome, with security being on point about everything, so it always feels good and secured in there. The multiple floors in the space over a nice variety of genres but still mostly catered to the dominant demographic but a good spot to vibe and chill for just about anyone. Fees for table can get ridiculous on busy club nights but a great spot to party and have fun nonetheless
Went here for the club scene. I would recommend getting tickets ahead of time on their website. There are 3 floors to this place. The bottom floor has a live dj and gives off a mini concert vibe, the main floor is by far the best because of the music and that is where most of the crowd is. The top most floor was a bit lame to me, but I’m sure it would be enjoyable for those that like the very calm vibe.
The place itself was really nice, and the bar staff were great as well. However, the bouncers outside & the indoor security manager were awful! Extremely rude, giving everybody a tough time. I understand it can be a stressful job, but it was shocking to see their inability to show any kindness at all! Ive been to other nightclubs in the area and have never witnessed this level of disrespect towards customers. I feel bad giving a low review because the place itself is great, but there are countless other reviews with similar experiences, and it seems nothing has been/will be done.
Great vibes, decent food and expensive drinks. They don’t really taste great either
The food was decent but the service was not so great. First we got there a half hour before our reservations and they made us wait til the actual time we reserved for. Ok our fault, note dont arrive to early or you will wait. Then we order this Sangria bowl. As you can see its mostly ice..... A waste do NOT purchase , there are better drinks for cheaper prices. If you go for brunch they have .92 cent drinks which come out to $2 after they include tip. Still a steal if u ask me. The low point: a group of 4 sat next to us 20 minutes after we sat and the got their food wayyyy before us..??? Very upsetting.
I went there October 29th for a Halloween party with a friend of my…. the party was on the roof top with very narrow step to go up, at first it was a good time, the places started to get crowded around 5pm, it’s a very small space and it was packed, one of the bartenders “he was using a red vest “ told us to leave the place, I do t know why, we weren’t doing anything wrong or acting stupid but enjoying the time… well we were going down the step and I felt breaking my left leg, I really think the stair to go up and down of the rooftop are very dangerous, no one has check on me to see how I’m doing from this place. To be honest I didn’t feel safe there at the end of the night.Sandra
Food is great but the service is SLOW. So slow that when it came time for dessert the kitchen had closed and we were left unaccommodated. With a warning, at least we could’ve ordered ahead of time but since the communication was so poor we were left without service or a closing to our celebratory meal. 500 bucks and Mediocre at best. Oh and bring your ear plugs. Yea its loud but moreover the music is in such poor taste and the entire dining room was bachelorette parties. Brunch is better here and also better environment in the summer. Not thrilled.
Hotel Chantelle is everything but a Hotel. It’s three floors of awesomeness with a rooftop bar at top, New American restaurant, and a club at night. I came in a group of five and on a groupon deal($36 for $80 value), we were all impressed on the appetizers and the hidden rooftop bar. The rest are comme si comme ça. I would come earlier before the sunset to enjoy the summer warmth while I can.
Chic brunch spot with great drinks. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance as this restaurant is quite popular and tends to get filled pretty quickly, so avoid long waits as a walk-in and just reserve on Open Table. Due to the crowdedness and high noise level, I wasn’t a big fan of service here though since it took almost an hour for a server to take our order and that’s where things started to fall short. In addition, I ordered chicken and waffles and everything came out hard. It was clear that the chicken looked burnt and it was still served to me. I notified my server of the unsatisfactory condition of the chicken, and I was told that brunch will be ending soon and the kitchen was unable to accommodate any further changes. Nevertheless, I ordered another round of drinks since the ice cubes were the only thing edible at this point. I loved the ambiance and drinks, but because of the terrible experience I had with the server and the condition of my food order I don’t think I would want to return back to this establishment. I am deeply involved with customer experience management for my current employer and it truly saddens me when I experience poor customer service over an issue that could have been handled completely differently
I attended here for a brunch party. I had to pay a 25 per person reservation fee hold that never got refunded . I called , I waited and nothing. Food was mid, DJ was good- cheers to the promoter not the hotel.Service was bad and at the end of all they had the nerves to not refund what they said would be a hold. Over $150 on food and drinks plus the $50 theft. Thumbs down!
Dont go to this place if youre looking to leave with all your belongings. I Went on a Saturday night with a group of friends and three people got items stolen. This includes everything in my friends wallet, a coat, and a phone. Staff is unreliable and unhelpful when you finally can get in touch with them. It took almost a week to hear back from this place after constant phone calls and even going there the next day. Hours are not accurate so dont bother even looking. Terrible experience.
We purchased a table for 30 individuals and paid $80 per person, but even with that in mind the security was super disrespectful and yelling at the group even with that in mind. I will never come to this location again and security should learn to be more respectful to paying patrons. This left an extremely sour taste in our mouths and we will be telling all of our friends to stay far away from here.
I went here for Sunday brunch with my girls to celebrate my birthday. We were a party of 15 so we had to book separately because it was a large group. We paid per person which we were fine with. When booking I asked for a nice seating with my girls but instead I got three separate tables next to each other. We asked our servers if they could please move us and they did which was really nice of them but then started the problems. We started getting the food and it wasn’t stopping, I asked my server Julianna to please aglow it down because we just sat down and started drinking there was so much food that we didn’t have room on the table. Mind you it was a slow Sunday so no need to rush us. We kept shoving food down our throats without even talking and trying to make space on the table because they wouldn’t stop bringing it. We loved that there was so much food because it’s worth the money we paying but we couldn’t even enjoy it. I asked them to slow it down but they didn’t. At one point I told her can you please pack the rest of the food because we still trying to finish this. I told her twice to pack the food because we wanted to take it home. Also we asked for few things which never even came to our table. When time to pay for the bill I asked her to please give me the food that I asked to be packed. She said ok. Waiting few mins nothing, asked the busboy and he went to ask the server. They spoke and then she comes to me and says we can’t pack food that didn’t hit the table. We can only pack food that hit the table. I was in no mood to argue in front of my girls so I walked away. But never once did she mention that also I looked her in the eyes and told her myself I wanted the food packed. Overall it was a horrible experience not worth my money and super disappointed because i could’ve gone anywhere to celebrate my special day. They ruined the whole day for me. Also I forgot to mention she charged me for 15 guest when I only had 14.
We got to the bar at 11:30pm on a Saturday, we got a table to celebrate our friends birthday. The bouncers are being super rude and slow. They yelled from the bottom of their lung to tell people to line up even though everyone were at the correct spot and being cordial. Overall terrible experience and won’t come back again.
The atmosphere was lackluster, devoid of any energy or excitement. The staff exhibited a shocking level of indifference, offering abysmal customer service. The interior décor was uninspiring and outdated, failing to create a captivating ambiance. The music selection by the DJ was subpar, completely out of touch with the crowds preferences.Adding insult to injury, the drinks were exorbitantly priced, leaving patrons feeling swindled. The crowd was unpleasant, showing little regard for personal space and making the already cramped space even more uncomfortable. Finding seating was an exercise in futility, as the arrangements were woefully inadequate. The overall hygiene of the venue left much to be desired, with dirty floors, sticky tables, and neglected restrooms contributing to a generally unclean environment. The management proved to be disorganized and inept, leading to long wait times and general confusion.Safety was a real concern, with overcrowding and insufficient emergency exits posing potential hazards. Hotel Chantelle failed to meet even the most basic expectations of a reputable night club, offering a dismal and forgettable experience. In conclusion, if youre seeking an enjoyable and memorable night out, it would be wise to steer clear of Hotel Chantelle. This establishment epitomizes disappointment and falls far short of what a night club should be
Food was great just pricey and small portions. They had to close the roof and we were baking in there. Its a wonderful space and the food is worthy of travel, you just have to know that the heat could be a factor and the service can be slow.
Bit of a kerfuffle getting seated however 1 member of our party was late (cheers MRA)but really ticks me off cos normally even when you arrive on time for your reservation you end up waiting goddam ages anyways and zero tosses to you.Food was great... when it arrived, the brunch is good value but you do pay per drink rathe than being able to go full radgie and drink without thinking of the bill. However our bill w/tax and tip was $37 each and we had more than enough to drink. We were on a 5/10 on th radgie/sophistication scale though....The baked eggs were 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Best party and brunch in NYC. Must go.It keeps getting better and better.Plan ahead and enjoy.
I gave the place three stars because the food and drink were super yummy! Also the area on the rooftop is very cute and it has a nice vibe to it. Those were the only positives for our experience.Unfortunately I had delays on the train and didnt arrive in time for the reservation. They refused to let my friends have a table until the full party had arrived. I understand a lot of places have this policy, especially the more popular ones. But this place was literally half empty. At first they made my friends just wait next to the hostess table, until finally they decided to grab a drink at the bar, where the hostess kept coming up to them and asking what my ETA was.As we were finishing our second round of drinks, the waiter brings by the check and says that if we want to stay, well have to move to the bar. Honestly, we were pretty much ready to go but it was very unnecessary for them to show us out like that. Again, I understand that policy if the place was very busy, but at that time I counted precisely 13 empty tables. There was no need to rush a group who was already finishing their meal. Such a terrible customer experience, which is sad because the food actually was amazing!Oh, and the cherry on top was that they automatically charged a 20% gratuity! Which I guess is good for them, because we wanted to give zero.
I read reviews and looked at pictures online and everything looked superb! So I got the $69 deal from pulse! I told them that we were celebrating my husbands birthday..but we didnt receive anything..my husband usually like birthday songs! Also as we got there, the waitress informed that due to covid..they were doing the pulsd thing different! We could order anything from the menu as long as it equals to $149. But a simple drink is $20 and same price for the app! We also wanted to order a pitcher to share but she told us that we couldnt share although every other table shared drinks🤔🤔 I was very disappointed at how everything changed! Also the menu had about 4 items to choose from only! I will not return there! I wished they honored my pulsd deal! My husband and I did not enjoy his birthday dinner! But the ambiance was fine and we liked the music!

Her commitment to her job, coupled with her excellent customer service skills, makes her an asset to any establishment.
Six people in our group including my girlfriend had their phones stolen by a professional group of pick pocketers working together. Staff was likely involved with this group, unfortunate as I really liked going here until now.
These guys send so many automated spam text messages promoting their club... really freakin annoying
The food is not bad, but the staff is rude. You can legit get better service or food anywhere else, it has a nice view dont get me wrong. However, rude and unprofessional staff ruins the vibe. I was celebrating my girlfriends birthday and I left my phone and tried to thank one of the staff members for holding on to my phone and all they said was unlock the phone now!
Thanks for having me but I’ll never be back. Bouncers are the worst at bar. I asked where bathroom was and was kicked out. Will never be back?! I’m glad bouncers are so mighty and tough to patrol the bar.
Usually wouldn’t write a review like this but this was possibly the worst and most disrespectful experience I’ve ever had with club employees. My friends and I came to support a DJ that we love, and left feeling bitter toward the employees who ruined our night. We ordered a couple drinks at the bar only to be charged for more drinks than we ordered. When we raised the issue to the bartender, he ignored us and said it wasn’t his problem. We went to the other bartender to raise the same issue, explaining that his colleague did nothing to help, and this one raised his voice at us in return. Rudest bouncers I’ve encountered, just straight disrespect for my friends as we kindly minded our own business and left the club as a group. Been to many hot spots and honestly just this one’s pretty beat & not worth your time. Not even a good view of the city. would give 0 stars if Google let me
I came here for brunch and had a blast!! Although the drinks were on the pricey side ($19 for 1 drink), I enjoyed the ambiance (live soul band!) and the food. On the weekends, you can get a pitcher (unlimited drinks for 90 mins) for $36. I appreciate the flexibility! I was able to get the french toast with the fried chicken (instead of fried chicken and waffles). Im glad that I found a brunch spot in LES and Ill be back.
Enclosed rooftop dining experience. There is a bar as well as tables for dining. This place is super cute and super chic. The area is considered a hot spot for clubs so it’s a good place to start your night to fuel up before. Parking is scarce, I recommend not driving though sometimes we did get lucky. I’ve been here a few times and the service is consistent. Downstairs they have burlesque dancers sometimes which we saw once and upstairs is the dining area. The bar gets pretty filled and the drinks are great. They participated in a travel zoo deal which we were happy to take part in because it was such a good deal. We had the deviled eggs and 4 cocktails. Other times I had the octopus and other apps which were all great. This is a good place for ladies night or a date.
Went for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was good, drinks not so strong (asked for an extra shot of tequila), service - ok. Love DJ - music is good, but very loud. Cannot hear people at the table. Asked to lower a little, they obliged - but was just a notch. Did not enjoy ourselves, did not order dessert - decided go someplace else. But, ended up going home - 2 people, including the birthday woman, had a headache. So, if you want a nice place with good music for Sunday brunch - find something else. This is the place for Sunday brunch at a dance hall. Dont waste money and time!
It all depends what youre into.Dinner - wasnt fabulous but this place has great vibes. Great music. The atmosphere is trendy and fun. Drinks are yummy. Service for good and attentiveDownstairs - if you like hip hop and pop this place has amazing music. I enjoyed dancing my night away. I disliked the crowd as it got too rowdy at times. Filled with girls dancing so if youre a guy you definitely would be in heaven. Id say check in your jacket and keep on dancing. The dance scene is Ob point.
There are a lot of other places you could go for bottomless brunch, but they probably wont be as fun. Definitely make a reservation. The music is generally decent, the food is good, and the overall vibe is great. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You never wait too long, and the drinks are good too!
Love this place for girls night out. The tapas like options and all you can drink cocktails definitely make a night out in NYC affordable. The staff were super friendly. The decor is awesome. Definitely IG/selfie worthy. The food was so good that for a while all we could hear was our yums and the cool music in the background.
I went with friends forHalloween 2023 and it was fun experience. The rooftop was beautiful and the DJ was great. Highly recommend!
Attended brunch for friends birthday on a Sunday. We made reservations for the “patio” which we assumed to be the rooftop portion (our mistake) but when we got upstairs we were sat in a secluded white room that resembled a shed away from the main floral rooftop that the establishment is known for. We saw empty tables so we inquired about being switched but they said they were fully reserved and that we couldn’t be moved. They compensated by giving us tequila shots. The music was at a decent level but the sound would go in and out. The waiters have no life, very dry and lack personality. The drinks were okay, heavily iced, and the food was okay and came out quickly. Be sure to book rooftop if you want to go here!
Its so so packed. A lot of Caucasian men in their college years or jus started working in finance/banking. Its a youngster vibe, its incredible though you wont have a breather while inside thats how jam packed
Nice little roof top bar, however you dont really get a great view, but its nice to enjoy the weather if the retractable roof cover is opened. The place got a little packed, but it was quick to get drinks at the bar. This place had a nice friendly crowd of people. They had drink specials available, and the cocktails were pretty good. I really liked their decor, it was nice and clean with a rustic feel to the place.
I never reviewed before but HONESTLY READ BEFORE YOU GO! I went with hubby to the bar on a busy Saturday night to have some fun however this was not the case. This bar by far has been the worst bar/lounge I have ever been to. First of all, the coverage was insane. They wanted us to pay $100 per person upfront while in line. That was suppose to equal 4 drinks !!! Once inside we went to the bar and there were only 3 bartenders for more than 200 + people (the venue was small). The bartenders by far have been the slowest, most rude, disrespectful, stuck-up i have every encountered. I mean this is the city and its always crazy busy but bartenders are always on their feet taking orders. I had to wave this man to get his attention. He clearly saw us waving and calling out to him. After more than 5 mnts I finally got his attention but in no means did he ever try to lean closer or tried at all to get my order. He only starred from far away. I told him twice what i wanted. He gave me my drinks and my hubby paid for our drinks. He snatched the card from his hand!!! (the audacity) He charged my hubby $41 for a simple cranberry and vodka and a jack and coke. He gave himself a gratuity of 20%. The drinks were watered down. The music was good but the service was disgusting. Never again will I go to this place. And I would never suggest this place to anyone. They are a scam. Cause people pay the $100 to enter but the bartenders do not give out drinks so they are technically stealing from people.
This is a place where you pay for atmosphere. “Let’s take a group photo” kind of vibe. The food itself left something to be desired. I ordered a burger with fries and also had some of the truffle tots. Both were average. The pitchers were good and got our party where we needed to go, but I wouldn’t come back for the food alone.
While the ambiance was nice, I just dont see what the hype is about. Was there for brunch on a Saturday with a large group. The staff was great and the rooftop live band was even better. Downstairs, the dj spun classic songs that can definitely get you in a mood..but...the food was so greasy. I feel like everything was deep fried. And, while it was tasty, I feel like I could make it better, myself. I dont think the food was worth the price. The drink menu was good..prices were average for a city spot. But I dont think Id go back on my own. Like I said, the ambiance was pretty cool but not unique...so...I dunno, I had read about how good the food was there so maybe my expectations were too high.
I love love love the rooftop space. I come here usually for the brunches and its good both summer and winter. Its a lovely outdoor garden spot. They have live music and the drinks are really good. I personally like the white truffle pizza, and the steak and eggs. Other noteworthy mention is the stuffed French toast and the banana waffles. They also now do a sausage in waffles on a stickReservations are hard here but if you come over you usually have a table pretty quickly. They might have to juggle you around with other people but they do a good job with it. Ive also sat at the bar when there was a wait. The service is pretty good- on Sundays can be a little slow due to the crowd. Also they have a glass rooftop which they pull over the top when it gets cold so you still get the outdoor feel without freezingThey also do evening events and happy hours and will send you emails if you sign up for them. I come back pretty often, on Sundays they usually have happy hour drinks till about 4 in the summer.
I love a good brunch!! Not only were the drinks amazing, the food which is served family style was delicious, I like that you get a little bit of everything. My favorite was the chicken and waffles with the cotton candy on top (yum).I also liked the wide variety of drinks you could have, mimose, bellinis and margaritas, and more. I came with a group of 17 and they were really accomidating, I would definitely come back!
I had my very first brunch experience on the rooftop area of Hotel Chantelle and could not have been more delighted. It was the picture perfect experience I was looking for in NYC that Ive only read about. The Bloody Mary was the best tasting one Ive ever had. One thing about the bottomless menu youre meant to have a whole lot so dont expect the bottomless menu to be the strongest. Their cocktails however you really get your moneys worth. Cant wait to go back to this amazing place. Oh and lastly the food was spectacular. Presentation, taste and for how busy it was it didnt even take that long. They also had a live jazz band they played really great relaxing music. Could not be happier with this place if you get the chance please go!! And check for reservations its hard to get in!!
Atmosphere great, food good, service poor. I have come now 3 times when I travel to NYC, referred multiple friends to check it out and was so disappointed. I showed up a few minutes prior 12:00 for our reservation, was not greeted for 12 minutes and some change. We were served our food very quickly (great because we were hungry!) then at 12:40 when I ordered a coffee following brunch I was told that they needed to check with the hostess because they needed to flip the table. I understand this is a busy and popular place, however it is not okay to hurry your patrons out when we have not even been at the table a full 45 minutes. Let us enjoy the reason we came here - the atmosphere, music and our food. There were also tables beside and behind us that were told the same thing. Such a shame because I love this place. Train your staff to chill and let people enjoy themselves while here.
Planned to attend their Saturday night Halloween party. Spent $440 on two tickets ahead of time, under the assumption that tickets were required for entry and I’d be denied at the door otherwise. I then waited in line for 3 hours (11 PM - 3 AM) and never made it into the club. The whole time, the bouncers were extremely disorganized, rude, inconsistently regulating the line, allowing people to cut, and generally not doing their job. And, people ahead of us acknowledged that they did not have tickets and still got into the club, which raises the question as to why tickets were sold ahead of time in the first place, and then not even prioritized in line. Clearly, this venue has severe organization issues, and is frankly a waste of both your time and money. On top of all of this, the people exiting the club during this entire time period I spent waiting acknowledged that it was extremely packed inside, not fun, hard to get a drink, and had bad DJs. Perhaps some of these problems would solve themselves if they honored their ticket holders. For places like this, zero stars should be an option.
I had a great time at Hotel Chantelle. Booking the reservation was easy. It was busy, but still adhered to COVID standards so I certainly felt safe. The food was amazing and the drinks were incredible. I love bottomless mimosas and also the option to take your drinks to go at the end of your brunch time. I will certainly return and I highly recommend this place for brunch. It’s great for groups or just you and one other person. At first glimpse you may think noise level would be a problem but my friends and I had no issues holding a conversation with all of the business going on, so this place still provides a nice I tomate setting if you decide to get a table on the rooftop.
Went with my gf for the jazz under the stars event. Almost 80 bucks for the two of us which seems reasonable. Waiter showed up twice, to ask for our order and to give us the check, still you get charged 20% gratuity in advance out of the 80 bucks plus whatever you order to drink.Drinks are also a bit watered down to my taste for their price tag.Rooftop with glass roof which didnt have any view.
Cool upstairs rooftop brunch patio. The place was pretty empty when we came but they seemed a little off-put by the fact that we didnt have a reservation, like it was an inconvenience. Live music was good, and they had some good drink specials. My burger was ordered medium-well but it was definitely on the rare side and dripping blood. Super pink with a slight brown crust. Oh well, it tasted good and didnt make me feel sick at all, but if you need your food to be cooked well just double check before you bite into it.
Fantastic place for a food experience worth every piece of your cent. The open roof setting creates the right ambience, then the live music wraps it off! You could tell the food and drinks were made with intention to please your palate. Tashi the bartender was exceptionally great and understands the art of mixology. He offered a particular coconut flavored drink, I don’t know what he put in it but that stuff tasted heavenly!
Nice decor bar with an incredibly open concept and riped with IG backdrops that is best served with having a decent sized group. $14 a drink. 4.5/5 stars as a night bar.
Great music but no AC in the summer is diabolical
Ive been here on two separate occasions and will separate the two times within this review. For Burlesque: The burlesque show was definitely interesting and a good time. Very interactive with the crowd. However, on the first floor theres not much space and you spend the time standing, which can get a bit uncomfortable. However, the show helps to take your mind of such matters. For Brunch: Man, does this place have good food! The menu was well balanced as far as selection and everything was absolutely amazing (highly recommend the avocado toast and the steak and eggs). Staff was very polite and attentive, and the cocktail selection was both broad and delicious. The upstairs area is also very nice, with a very open air feeling. Can get a bit loud if the retractable roof is closed, so not the easiest if you want to catch up with friends.
I had brunch with 2 of my friends on a rainy day. The rooftop is covered which is pretty cool. We didnt go for the unlimited drinks offer but I had avocado Benedict. it actually was. really good. They played good music. It was a fun experience.
We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here! The atmosphere was cozy and very chic. I had the braised short rib and is was *chefs kiss* phenomenal. My husband had the MOAB burger and was a little underwhelmed. Our waitress (julie?) Was very helpful and kind. Overall a great experience and would visit again.
I was expecting the worst after a series of bad restaurants over the past few weeks BUT was I in for a pleasant surprise!!! It was AMAZING the food was delicious and our server was simply the best (Sadly forgot his name) Im not a seafood eater but the Salmon was one of the best Ive had, mashed potatoes were great, chicken and waffles were by far the best Ive had in a long while. Who knew cotton candy could be had chicken? I will definitely return. After dinner ,the club experience was epic !!!!
I NEVER have bad reviews for places. However, I came here for my birthday with 7 friends (for a special occasion). They were NOT clear on the group package process (it was nearly 300$ for drinks THEN $300 for food, separately). I asked if we could be moved to the outside portion of the restaurant and the woman at the hostess stand was very rude when told us that it was not available. The waitress was unattentive and we had to wave her down on multiple occasions. The food was cold and came before the rest of the party was seated. I’m sad to say that this was one of my favorite places before this (hence choosing the establishment for the occasion). My friends and I will NOT be coming back and I wanted to warn others of this god-awful experience. When I reached out to customer service to let them know of these issues, all I got was Sorry you had a bad experience on your last visit. Horrible.
Just finish experiencing a Brazilian jazz session hosted by Fever @ Hotel Chantelle. The ambiance, music, food , and service exceeded all expectations. It was a cool October evening but the vibes made me feel like I was in a hot tub surrounded by beautiful candles. Beautiful experience. Early birthday gift for my husband 🥂💃👏🏿
Love the music and vibes of the rooftop club. My preferred time to be there is 11pm and I tend to head out when it gets overcrowded for my liking. The music hitss.
We went for brunch, the food was great and the drinks were tasty. We sat on the roof and they do a good job covering it so that if the sun is out you arent in the direct sunlight. Live music is a little loud but pleasant. Overall it had an awesome ambiance and is a great brunch spot for friends.
The rooftop is designed with a retro French theme, around 1940s Paris. It is really incredible how the space can completely transport you to a beautiful Parisian garden. The rooftop was so amazingly beautiful, it was breathtaking! It was so elegant, and I really loved the lamp post lighting throughout, and the chairs and benches were just super adorable! And whats more fantastic is that rooftop is retractable, and climate controlled. Since it is the Winter, they had the glass rooftop closed, and the room was nice and warm. The food offerings are good quality, tasty, and unique. I really loved how they create their Chicken & Waffles, very cool! The drinks were really great too, strong, flavorful, and high quality. Desserts are surprisingly large portion, good value for the size. The service was another thing that was really exceptional here. Several staffs taking care of you, so if the waitress did not wipe of the table (which she didnt) after she took away the plates, but then another staff would come and clean off the table. Always been taken care of by someone, weather that is your server, or other staffs. They also made sure our water bottle was full, they kept the water coming before we asked. Really nice, full service here, and everyone was really nice, polite, and sweet. Read my full review of this restaurant and food on my food blog, at foodlovergirl.
I had good time and the setting was nice at first. But, the staff messed up on my groups bill! They gave us one bill that we paid in full.... and after half the party left they gave a second bill. Staff admitted they made an error on our bill, but we needed to still pay the balance they forgot to give us. They didnt try to work with the part of the party that was left and basically said they didnt care because the money was due. They threaten to take from the card that was on file without permission or notification. Not only is that rude, but unprofessional. Is this good service?
Service was extremely slow. We were only able to order 1 drink because we waited for over 20min for a server to attend to us. It was quite a disappointing experience.Steak was mediocre, food came out too quick. We just got our apps and then food came 5min later. We had all this food on our table and nowhere to put it. I honestly wouldnt ever come back
Very friendly staff daytime and evening.Brunch on a Sunday was good. The music was good. The food was good. The drinks were yummy. The service was good as well. Cute rooftop for brunch and evening cocktailsThe three levels for the evenings are also great. But the basement level could use more air conditioning.Overall fun spot to experience New York as a first timer.
Great atmosphere, and friendly, helpful staff make this a cool spot for drinks or dinner. The rooftop dining area doesnt offer spectacular views (its only one flight up), but the lighting and open air are still delicious when the weather co-operates. As a bonus they have a retractable glass roof for when it doesnt. The food is good and the portions adequate, but the prices seem a bit high for all that. All in all worth a trip.
I went during late night/club time. I had a blast ! The DJ was really good(three different floors for different music). The drinks are awesome. A nice mix of party goers - very diverse. Plus the vibe was positive and light :)I would go again
Nice little find that is hard to find and excellent for brunch. Food is truly amazing fat great tasting comfort food. Also has really relaxed vibe w live music. Downside is medium quality cocktails and pushy in-your-face staff that hurries you out within the hour.
Went for dinner at 730 on a Friday night. Easy to get a table at that time. Starts getting very busy around 9. We were impressed. I got the impossible burger which was absolutely delicious with truffle cream. My boyfriend got the drunken chicken, and the portion was huge. He loved it too. Will definitely be back.
My friend and I went here for the late night club/bar. The rooftop was well lit but not too bright and barenders were courteous even though they were slammed. On the main level it was mayhem but in a good way. Lots of people had bottle service so everyone was having a good time. They played top hits and a few oldies but goodies so we had a great time! My favorite club experience in NYC.
A group of girls and I came here for brunch last Saturday. When making a reservation, they required a deposit of $15 per person. The are also really strict about their reservations for brunch. Its hard to change size of the party since all the tables are reserved. Theres very little flexibility on this front. And to get the prix fixe menu, you must have a party of 6+ AND everyone has to do it. So definitely keep that in mind when you come here. The prix fixe menu allows you to try everything. So instead of picking one out of however many option from the menu, everything is brought to you and you share with those at your table. The atmosphere is really great. The second floor is really cute with windowed ceilings. And on a nice day, they will open these up and theres plenty of sunlight. They have ~$1 drinks, but I wasnt too impressed with the food. Nothing particularly memorable or amazingly delicious.Their seller is really the ambiance. The live band started around 12:30/1:00pm. However, keep in mind that the place will get pretty loud and harder to have conversations around that time.Brunch + drinks came out to be around $45 per person.
My friends and I had a birthday dinner with a group of 19 people this past Friday. Immediately the decor struck me as something that was slapped together with very little thought as the lamp posts had burnt out bulbs and the decorations looked cheap. I ordered a vodka/soda from the bar as I waited for guests to arrive which cost $19.60 an obscene amount of money for 1 ounce of well vodka. Then as we were seated the waiter brought over the pitchers of the drinks we selected. They were untouched by every guest due to the fact that there was no alcohol in them and they tasted horrible. This then forced us to order drinks a la carte. As a result, the bill which was supposed to be $50 per person, wound up being $150 per person, leaving every guest furious including me ! Then as the dinner was served the waiter spilled food all over me. Now granted it was an accident, but now I have smelly gross food all over my jeans with little to no apology. The least they could have done was offer to buy me a drink or pay for the dry cleaning. I even approached a few members of the staff at the bar who seemed like they couldnt care less and said sorry nothing we can do. This overall experience really left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning to this restaurant/bar again.
This place is amazing! Our waiter Dan was so kind and accommodating! The rooftop was so nice and the drinks were so good! Everyone was effective and the wait for the food wasnt long at all. The music was A+! Definitely will go back again!
There were some decent, but not great deals on the happy hour menu for both drinks and some food (though Im a beer drinker and there werent many choices there). But we tried a few different things and enjoyed them all.The bartenders were both personable and attentive so we never had to wait long for the next round of drinks. Overall had a good experience at Hotel Chantelle and would definitely go back.
$100 minimum after a certain time for certain groups as the front girl said “it depends.” They then take you to a grunge basement and good luck getting that $100 worth of drinks as the bartenders just ignore you (and no, this isn’t just a dude upset… my female friend was the one getting drinks and blatantly ignored). Once we finally got to the rooftop, it’s nice and has good music, but otherwise, my experience with staff put a huge damper on the night and I will not be back.
The Jazz Brunch here is amazing! Check their schedule to see when the band plays and make sure to make a reservation! Ever since they opened the rooftop about a year ago they have been absolutely packed! The 92 cent cocktail menu has been trimmed down to 2 options, but they are good and there is a more robust $3.92 cocktail menu as well. The food is really a wonderful experience! The stuffed french toast is decadent and everything on the menu is delicious and served with flair. The wait staff are friendly and attentive even when the place is hopping with customers, dancers and a live band!
Went here for clubbing with my friends and the bottle girls were extremely rude, pushing my friend out of the way. Because of this she lost her balance and bumped back into the bottle girl. She had my friend plus all of us kicked out for doing absolutely nothing. The bouncers would not give us an explanation as to what happened because as stated we had done nothing wrong. We didn’t even know a bottle girl bumped into our friend, they just wanted us out without giving a clear explanation. Its clear to see there is immaturity rampant amongst the workers and a very obvious superiority complex from the bottle girls. The staff there was extremely inconsiderate and its clear to the audience they cater to from the animosity that was shown to my darker skinned friends from the absolute very beginning. -5/10 stars not a black friendly club scene.
Crowded but a good place for partying.Best to get a table here. The staff are very attentive and extremely efficient.Best to arrive after 11 pm though.Has 3 different dance floors and a rooftop smoking place so you dont have to go out every time!Try and meet Lisa. Shes cool and has an awesome table most Fridays
Horrible customer service, we walked in and were showed our table on the rooftop which was directly in the sun, we asked if we can be switched to another table in the shade(considering the heat). It was blown out of proportion, something so small could have been handled in a minute. Anyway, long story short the mood was ruined. We were eventually seated at another table, told that we have one hour to eat and basically get out (we got out in 30 min because we didn’t even feel comfortable being there). Manager heard us out which was nice. But the food was average. Maybe if the customer service was better we would come back but I’d never even recommend this place to a friend with this kind of service.
The food was seasoned well and the outdoor romantic ambience was great as well. The Braised Short Rib on mushroom polenta was divine! When you look at the portion, it looks small but dont be fooled, this entree is filling. However, my hubbys portion size was quite small ( Pan Seared Salmon with mash and fennel) and he had to order an appetizer (Rock Shrimp) to feel fully satisfied. Overall, a good dining experience with a friendly staff.
The rooftop was beautiful but our waiter was extremely rude and nasty did not even bother tipping because of that attitude. Came in with a party of 15, the seating was so tight and complicated, they expected us to squeeze on those benches as if we were all the size of a stick and did not even bother giving us one more extra seat to give us the comfortability we wanted. We did the social style brunch, the food was tasty but not filling whatsoever we ended up going to another restaurant to get food because we were not satisfied. Overall, if you decide to come here with a large party, dont bother. Save your money and get popeyes instead.
Cannot trust! They cancelled my reservation of 20 people 2 days before my birthday. I was told theyll try to accommodate at a different time or i can move my business elsewhere. So generous and kind on their behalf! Had made my reservation a week before and last minute had to end up scrambling for places to accomodate all! Can share screenshots of email if needed
Security guard jordan is abusive an tried to trip me while i was wearing heels , proudly yelling loudly and proudly about how he hits women openly in the street. this establishment is disgusting given that i’ve emailed the owner and spoken to the mangers with no response to the abuse this bouncer, by the name of JORDAN caused me, while also proudly announcing to the public that he hits females. i’ve had no response or action taken in response to my concerns about this violent bouncer after over a month. do not go here if you do not want to harassed verbally or physically by the bouncer jordan / most of the security team.
Went there for brunch with some of my overseas friends. The New Orleans style band was awesome and quite frankly made the whole experience much more enjoyable. The place is lively attracting a very nice crowd. Food was okay. Oh yeah, they also serve $2 martinis for brunch. They were surprisingly good.
So so so overpriced. Bouncer was rude. As always, you’ll have fun if you go with the right crowd- but the staff is not very friendly, and you’ll pay minimum of $22 for the simplest drink (ie vodka soda, rum and Coke). And you have to buy a ticket. Minimum of $100 to dance to music you already have since high school.
The first time I went here was around 12:30 am and it was packed. The music on the main floor was awesome. Downstairs was even cooler and a completely different vibe. The second time I went was for brunch. The live jazz is unlike any other- its beautifully chic and the food is beyond clever, delicious, and served in a wonderful fashion. The cocktails are perfect and their price is even better- I recommend getting a carafe if youre going to have more than 3 though. Definitely worth another experience.
I felt like a movie star. It was bright, friendly and the DJ played amazing music. Jonathan and Courtney took great care of us. The prices were great. The food was phenomenal. I recommend the breakfast pizza!!
We were told $375 for bottle for door and to give bouncer $100 cash beforehand. Needless to say bottle cost 700 and didn’t need to pay the bouncer upfront. Good place with nice music overall
Tried Hotel Chantelle for the first time for a friends birthday and had a great experience overall. Went for brunch and ordered: Kale Caesar Salad, Deviled Eggs, Lobster Benedict, the BLT and Steak and Eggs. There was a live jazz band that was awesome. They held our reservation for 15 minutes when we had trouble getting there on time because of the train. The drinks were probably the best part: They offer two different cocktails for $.92 each. Yeah. Less than a dollar. And you can do a carafe of each for only $8. I assumed they werent too dangerous, but turns out they were. Ours was something like champagne, vodka and lemonade. Any minor complaint we had (lipstick on a glass) was dealt with promptly and kindly. Well be back!
Was here Saturday night. Great vibes on all 3 floors, good drinks, reasonable prices and fun people. To enter on Saturday after 11pm I had to open tab for $50/person, which isnt that bad.Would rate 5 except:1) They lost my credit card and ID. Will give back 1 star if they return them :)2) Long bearded bartender in the basement kept ignoring me and my friend for half hour despite looking at me many times and serving every newcomer around. We calmly stood by the bar and waited, didnt even had drinks yet, so there was no good reason for that treatment. Eventually we gave up and left for another floor.
Horrendous customer service and incredibly weird/policies. Came here for a friends birthday brunch on Saturday and the staff was extremely cold and not hospitable. We had a reservation but still had to wait in a long line to have the hostess seat us (understandable). Beware that if you have an expired license - they will not allow you to drink and will give you a wristband to ensure you cannot drink. Ran into this issue because I hadnt been able to renew my license due to COVID but the bouncer allowed me to show a pic of my passport. We had a table on the rooftop for a party of 10 but they wouldnt seat us until the entire party was there. We were short 2 people because of the ID issue so they gave up our table and seated us downstairs in the restaurant. The brunch was prefix brunch menu. If they give you the option of doing the regular brunch menu - I would definitely choose this option. The Prefix Brunch menu was not worth it. There were no dishes with protein in them and came with avocado toast, tots, breakfast pizza and french toast. We were still hungry after to which the staff gave us two extra plates of the french toast and tots. However, the food was average compared to other brunch spots in the city. The brunch cocktails were bottomless pitchers of the strawberry lime rickey and the breakfast margarita. The waiter was pretty diligent on replenishing the drinks but nothing special in terms of choices. The place is very strict and it almost felt like we were in high school with the amount of rules this restaurant had on what we could and could not do. Our friend whose birthday it was had brought a cake from Lady M so that we could cut it at the end of brunch and the staff told him they couldnt allow him to cut the cake there since it was an outside desert. Seemed like a pretty silly rule to have and they wouldnt make an exception. They did bring out a small lava cake desert for him for his birthday and a sign with his name on it - which was nice but overall - the amount of pushback we received from the beginning of brunch to the end turned us off to the entire place. Needless to say - we wont be coming back to Hotel Chantelle or recommending it as a brunch spot to others. If the staff was even a tad bit friendlier, the experience would have been a little better. However, everyone from the hostess, the security and the management acted as if they were principals and didnt know how to even crack a smile. The only nice employee we came across was our waiter. If youre looking to have a blast for brunch and go somewhere easy going - there are plenty of other spots in NYC that are a better value for the price, more hospitable and dont treat you like little kids.
$40 minimum consumption on busy nights. 3 floors with different music and different space layout. The top has table and food, the middle one has a more traditional bar feel, and the basement has a club vibe to it. Drinks are normal price for the area but the speakers are cheap and you can feel it. There are better option in the area.
My after COVID experience here was honestly awful. I would not come here again. The waitstaff was rude, rarely checked on us, and the family style is not worth it. It barely feeds two people, not enough for a whole group. The music was awful, no DJ or dancing as other people have said, and the drinks barley had liquor in it. The whole place was a rip off. OH and they charge at 5% covid fee even though none of the staff wears masks or gloves so what’s the fee for? I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed considering all the other reviews were so great. Maybe they use that 5% fee towards paying people for good reviews.
Great rooftop seating and the live band is awesome. The food for the family share plates are big enough for 3-4 people. I recommend the breakfast pizza, yogurt, and the chicken and waffles. The chicken is seasoned extremely well for the pairing of a sweet waffle. So good.
Paid for tickets to a Halloween party. I dressed up as a Jedi Knight and they confiscated my Lightsaber. That’s the main part of my costume, claiming it’s a weapon. People it’s a damn toy. Thanks for ruining my experience!
The space was nearly empty on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 8pm but it is New York on Halloween so I guess I shouldnt judge. Despite being one of the first colder days the enclosed roof space was toasty. The cocktail I ordered was very good. I found the space adequate but there was no New York magic that I look for in a dinner out. My friends and I ordered a lot of different choices to share. The clam pizza and fish tacos were standouts. The giant pretzel was just O.K. The kale salad was actually really tasty. The service tried to be funny in a certain way that didnt really jive with our group. He gets some points for trying. The Milk and Cookie dessert was unique but fell a little short in terms of taste. I wouldnt say the dinner was bad but not sure it was worth the 80 dollars plus tip.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! From the waiter (Evert; love love love him), to our food, to the atmosphere, to the music and especially to the drinks. Very good for dates or birthdays. We had a friend recommend to us and we’re so happy we took her suggestion!
The atmosphere and rooftop ambiance was very fun. The seating is tight but we didnt mind. Its a rooftop restaurant but keep in mind, no view of the streets. Its more greenhouse. We went right at 5:30 so no wait which was nice. The waitress was friendly. The food was overpriced and nothing spectacular. Definitely just go for a fun, outdoor dining experience.
Went to this establishment for my birthday dinner. We waited half hour for our first drink order. Thats ok. Well, not really, but we didnt complain..they didnt tell us wed be catching the end of brunch and the bartenders would be busy making pitcher drinks. We ordered a round of shots and then ordered more drinks. After our drinks arrived someone came to the table to tell us we have to leave so they could set up for dinner?? I told them, we just ordered our drink and we would leave after we finished it. 1 minute later someone else came to tell us the same thing. My husband asked if they would like us to order more food so we could stay longer and they said no. At this point, 2 minutes later a man that I guess was supposed to look like a bouncer came up and told us we were there for over 90 minutes and they have 90 minute seating. Never heard of this in my life. Considering we werent there for brunch and didnt order their brunch drinks. I was highly annoyed by the fact that this ruined my dinner. We arent rowdy or loud. There was no reason we couldnt ha e peacefully finished our drink. Finally, another woman came to apologize and explain how they make money by flipping the table every 90 minutes. Still not sure how this is our fault. And were told we shouldnt have been served drinks close to the time we needed to leave!!! Once again. All of the time spent going through all of this stupid back and forth...we couldve finished our drink and left. Thetr was no line of people waiting for dinner. Id understand that. 2 tables were filled. Not to mention, the completely disregard having the tables 6 feet apart. The entire rooftop was fully crowded. Definitely not what we were even expecting. Absolutely disappointing.
Reservation was for 430 . We arrived 4:30 and were rushed to order for everyone who didn’t arrive yet . Even though they close at 7. We were forced to order from the prefix menu which included only appetizer like snacks. We had a birthday at our table but didn’t get the birthday song and cupcakes until the restaurants turned off their fans / music . They said we have to hurry up and go because they were closing ... at 5:45pm . It wasn’t a great experience it felt kinda like we were a burden and I didn’t like that all. Nice place but no thanks.
Ive only been for jazz brunch several times. The food is average. I had the burger once. The bun was dry although the meat was tasty. Other brunch items are OK, but the upstairs area has soft and beautiful lighting. If you want to look your best in a photograph, this is the place to be.
Went during club hours with my wife. The people in the front all told us something different they have no sense of communication or customer service. The bartenders were the slowest and most unpleasant bartenders I have ever encountered. They ignored us for several minutes it seemed as if the bartender (Caucasian Mohawk and beard) was too busy smelling the used shot glasses to see if he should washed them or not (he did not, he placed them back on the shelf as if they were clean). He then wondered around as if they’re were thirsty customers in front of him looking to get helped. When he finally decided to help us he did so by straying at us from a far. He was very rude and unpleasant. Snatched the card of my hand, Drinks were overpriced and water down. He charged 20% gratuity, this the only way he can make out with a tip because he did not work for it whatsoever. Me and my wife chugged our drinks so we could get out of that place ASAP. Will never come back.
Expensive + rude waitress — we get it, your customers are rich and snobby and it’s easy to be in a bad mood with lots going on (I worked in the service industry!), but no excuse for being mean. Tipped decently because we live in a hell society but took forever and waitress/server was quite rude and didn’t deserve the tip we left. Not worth the cost and you can do better in NYC when it comes to views and vibe and scenery.
It is a very good restaurant with amazing food. We got the white truffles and i got the MOAB burger. It was delicious. The people working there also really know their wine. They really can explain you the wine section in detail. The music was a bit too loud. So, It is not ideal for a date.
Wouldn’t let me enter at opening time. Poor service, won’t come back. Good DJ tho. Asked me for too much personal information when buying tix. Club was ok.
The food was great. I would highly suggest the drunken chicken. Other than that this place was horrible. Mainly the music would be the biggest concern. I literally had to scream for the person right next to me to be able to hear. Its not a nightclub its a restaurant. I would gladly spend my money elsewhere. If they would just turn down the god awful music they played it would be 5 stars. The volume of the music killed the mood. It ruined the whole meal.
Let me start by saying that you cannot go wrong by choosing this place for whatever reason. I knew this place was a party bonanza but never would I have thought the food here would be great. It was! It was delicious and everything from the starters to the main dish were delicious and perfectly cooked. Dinner and brunch are a must if you have a large group.
Literally the one star is for Tyrone and Gabriella. They were amazing as far as the food it was gross. The steak was obviously cheap steak. The fries were salty AF. So was the Ceasar Salad. The hostess which was this Hispanic woman with blonde in her hair was extremely disgusting and rude. We used an app named Pusld and she made it as if it was a crime to use it. I got there at 430 and she said that they only accept the app at 7 and it’s on the website. It wasn’t on the website and I called and they said that wasn’t true. I asked her to show me where it says it on the website and she couldn’t show me I wonder why 🙃. The ambiance is nice but she made everything awkward by walking back and forth as if it’s her restaurant and I’m100% it’s not. Using the app doesn’t mean we’re broke it means people are trying to get to k ow your restaurant and truthfully I will never be back here. If you do waste your time coming ask for Tyrone or Gabriella and the Busers were amazing. They were all really nice. The two Hispanic women were acting as if it was their place. Nasty attitudes and rolling their eyes. And I wasn’t the only person who said it.
Great brunch spot, make a reservation before you go! it gets really busy and loud but still a good hang out spot to catch up with friends. I love the french toast! they took it out for my friends birthday and we loved it! so good!
Such a cute place! Environment and decor are beautiful. Got the bottomless brunch and it was definitely worth it. The Avocado toast was very tasty too. Great place for a birthday brunch or a bridal shower
Had a Birthday dinner for a large group of 19 there on Saturday at 8pm and have got to say it was the best large group birthday dinner ive ever experienced. We were seated immediately in the Belle room which was so chic and beautiful. They were very accommodating, as far as how we wanted the tables to be set up.Our server was amazing. She made sure everything was right. We were brought our unlimited drinks right away. She double checked for any food allergies, and was all around friendly and very attentive with the whole party. Our family stye food was so delicious! Everyone loved the food. The rock shrimp tempura and white truffle flatbread were a favorite for a lot of folks. Drinks were very tasty as well. The best part was the amazing birthday cake set up that they had for the birthday boy, it was beyond beautiful, tasty, and quite an experience. They had sparklers and light box with his name on it, and beautiful set up for tons of mini cupcakes and toppings for him to pour over the cupcakes. The DJ was great, after dinner the music had everyone dancing. Perfect blend of 90s hip hop and r&b.You guys really helped to make it such an amazing night to remember. Thank you for going above and beyond! I definitely recommend this place for birthday dinners or even to just go dancing at.
I dined here today as a party of three without reservations. The hostess told us that she had a table for us to be seated at, however we would have to be gone by 1 PM. Let it be known that we were seated at 12:10...I found that to be in poor taste and very unprofessional. If the table was reserved for a certain time, dont tell people they are to be gone by a certain time when we could have just waited for an available table. I find it absurd that there was a $3.00 dollar service charge for WATER. If a bottle of FREE tap water is placed on the table for myself and guests to pour OURSELVES why would I be charged for the staff to pour water? I have never been anywhere that charged for water, ridiculous. Not to mention 15% gratuity was added to the bill when it was a party of 3...3 people. On the bright side, the food was wonderful but overpriced for small portions. I would not go back.
The club front service is really good and kind however the bartenders can be very rude..the black bald bartender working at the basement club was extremely impolite..I was visiting from another country and after waiting a long time to place my order the bar tender ignored my order sighting that he couldnt understand me. I speak fluent English! The club across called D had much better service and was able to have a good night out.
Where to start? Horrible customer service from the moment you walk in. Seated and immediately rushed to order and told that we have the table only for 1:15min. Waiter kept pushing to order and then quickly brought the check. I understand they close the dining but don’t do it if customers will be treated that way. Drinks are water and food is ok (pretty sure the wagyu steak is not wagyu). Bouncers are horrible... pouring rain and all he cared about was to push me away from the entrance into the rain just for answering a phone call. NYC is full of rooftops why go to this place. Spend your money somewhere else. This deserves zero stars if I could give it.
Been here a couple of times for night festivities. The atmosphere is great and really love their upstairs terrace. They typically have a good selection of music as well as decent bottle service if that’s your thing. Highly recommend doing reservations as there always appears to be a queue.
The security is full of themselves. They started charging people for tables to get but when you get in the place is not full!Music and drinks are best on ground floor but its super hot and crowded. Rooftop has no view but good place to chill if youve been turning up too much on the ground floor.Basement was whack! I didnt even know it was there but when I was introduced, it was sloppy floor, sloppy drinks, sloppy DJ.3 stars mostly because I went with similarly turnt people.
Very rude manager. Bartender was good, nice creative drinks, but long black beard Manager Javier was very rude, came over to our table of 7 people (we all had drinks and food) told us. You have to move now! (Screaming voice)... I guess for bottle service, This is not the way to speak to people without prior warning. Does this place understand life-time value of a customer? Way higher than a $500 bottle...One person can ruin the experience of the whole place, they need to be-careful. I wont be coming back.
Good brunch options on a rooftop. Make reservations. We got our first few food items pretty quickly. Then main dishes took forever to come out. Also my salad tasted way over salted or it could have been the dressing.
I’ve been here twice. Both times had terrible service. The last time I was there I over heard the table next to me also complain of terrible service. Waiting 30 minutes for someone to take a drink order then waiting 40 minutes to get the drinks. Last time I went here I ordered the drunken chicken- there was a hair in the chicken and because I didn’t keep the hair to prove to them I wasn’t lying they refused to take the chicken (that I only took 4 bites of) off the bill.. the manager never even came over to apologize. The ONLY nice thing about this place is the restaurants aesthetic. IF there wasn’t hair in my dinner the food would of been delicious... sad but true. (This happened 7/13/18)
The food is okay. The shrimp tempura was good but the chicken and waffles had no flavor. Plus it was chicken tenders dipped in waffle batter with cotton candy on top. Outside of the long wait, there was gratuity automatically added to my bill. Ive never seen this for a party of 4. The waiter wasnt even very attentive. To add on, we didnt have change and paid with large bills and he didnt bring back my change. I had To ask for my change!
I was dragged here by friends and could tell that it wasnt going to be good the minute we walked inside. This place is for bros to buy bottle service so they can try to impress vapid empty shells passing as humans. Everything is incredibly overpriced for drinks and they will add gratuity for you so you have to put up with the unbelievably rude behavior of the staff. This type of place is the worst of late capitalist NYC.
A very okay, not phenomenal, place to dance with your best friends. when one of them cuts her foot on broken glass on the floor, you can skip the line for years to come and even bring your guy friends in basketball shorts inside! threaten to sue for best results 😇 blessings xox
Beautiful restaurant, but would not recommend eating here. Me and my other two guests got sick after our reservation here. Strongly believe it was the mix they used for their belinis - its possible it was sitting outside for too long (they had mixes sitting out in the hot sun behind the bar) or that it was sour.
Rude bouncers literally pretended to be the commissioner and call the cops (???) to get us to pay a $20 cover even though we had tickets. Constantly attempted extortion. Extremely rude and disgusting. We left this place and had a great time elsewhere. Good luck to whomever is trying to get in.
Great Brunch on the rooftop. We ate the spanish baked eggs. I was confused that the eggs were poached, not baked in the sauce . Still tasty. Good server. They had live music on Saturday which was very nice
Nice (but small) rooftop, food was pretty good and drinks were fine (and some really cheap) as well. But they had us wait for almost an hour just because we didnt accept the prix fixe menu at $36, even though we were told over the phone that we wouldnt have had to pay it for groups of 7 people or under, and we were 7. They were still acting fussy when two of us left (they were starving) and THERE WERE PLENTY OF EMPTY TABLES!!The manager, or any of the hosting staff, clearly doesnt know how to do their job!
Wonderful customer service. The food was to drool over. The waiters are very fast and kind. They try there best to make your experience as Wonderful as they can. The place is a very low key trendy kind of vibe. I loved it! Can’t wait to go back!
On Halloween myself and a group of friends paid over $1200 for a 12 person table. When we arrived and were brought to the table, it was a literal table for 2 people. But get this - there was only a booth on one side. So our 12 person table sat a total of ONE person. Im sure you can see how this ruined our evening. Not to mention the drinks were bad (hundreds of dollars for average liquor mixed with OJ or cranberry juice). They didnt have an issue taking our money though! Make no mistake: Hotel Chantelle falsely advertised & STOLE from us.This place is the definition of a scam. They had no issue ripping their customers off. It should really be considered stealing at that point. Do yourself a favor and dont waste your money here.
Hotel Chantelle’s brunch is amazing. Their food is amazing. Their service is so impeccable. The person who was in charge of filling our water literally came to refolded our napkins when we left to use the bathroom. The ambiance of this restaurant is also so adorable. Very Audrey Hepburn. Great place.
Unique and sweet! Stumbled upon this little gem on Valentines day with my girlfriend and it was quite the experience. These people definitely know how to cater to your party needs! The venue itself was beautifully decorated, very cozy and quirky, dj played well and drinks were average nyc price. We will be back :P
