We had a great time at Taj … it never fails! From the door to the table, the customer service was gr8. The security guard, the host and the server were absolutely AH-MAY-ZING!Our table experience was perfect. Typically, one may request to speak with the manager to report a complaint. I needed to speak with the a manager to gloat and rave about Kelly. Kelly was THEE best server, HANDS DOWN! He was so attentive, so kind, and made sure orders were perfect — provided top tier service. Drinks were flowing and music was A1. I’ll definitely be back! (Again and again).
I went here for brunch this past Sunday with my friend. She took me here for my birthday, and I love the whole atmosphere when we first walked in, we were greeted with a complementary glass of champagne then immediately seated in our section. I had the burger and truffle french fries and it was awesome. we had the bottomless mimosas which was also awesome lol highly recommended and the music was awesome and we also theres hookah! Shoutout to Adam!
We had a good time on a Saturday night at Taj Lounge. The line also wasn’t long when we arrived. The security guards also weren’t bad. We ended getting a table right after midnight, and we had a good time. The DJs were cool. There was alot of Caribbean music but I appreciate the DJs mixed in southern hip hop as well. Our server wasn’t around our table much, but when we really needed her we could find her. There were alsoSome spills on the dance floor and I appreciate someone came relatively quickly to clean it up. I also appreciate the section was a good size for the number of people we had in our group. The spot was open until nearly 4, which my group loved. Overall, I’d go back here for a hip hop night.
Food was ok. Katra the sister club food is better. Music was good, The bottomless mimosas and Bellinies will get you right, but they dont taste great. They need a better champagne and the glasses and the pitcher are very dirty. Our waitress said she dont know why they all look like that and suggested we all use straws. When you make reservations please make sure you get a name. I made a reservation for 15 people and when I got there no reservation under my name, I looked on the list for myself and saw my phone number and a totally different name and the reservation for 4 people only.My waitress asked for a card to put on file and never returned it. Now I had to cancel that card. What a experience. But I wouldnt say not to go there, because the turn up was real.Im more made about the girl taking my card and never brought it back.
I would give it 10 stars if I could!!! We hosted my sons bar mitzvah party at Taj Lounge and it was literally PERFECT! We had the MOST AMAZING NIGHT!!! Christopher runs the tightest ship and left no stone unturned! Service, food, drinks were all fabulous. Our guests were complimenting everything all night and the next day! Next time I have an event to host Chris will be my first call!
I selected Taj Lounge to hold our High School Reunion for approximately 150 people. It was my first time being the main point person for such a thing. I believe Christopher and his staff sensed my worry, and he immediately put my mind at ease by reassuring me that everything will be awesome. And sure enough, months later, the event was amazingly successful, and the joy was apparent on everyone’s faces. The Taj space is beautiful, elegant and spacious. The restrooms were immaculate. The wait staff, bartenders, and maintenance staff were polite and professional. The DJ., Fat Fingaz, had every single person jumping and dancing, knowing exactly what genre of music to get us going. The food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. Thank you for an amazing experience.
This place was amazing. I had the BEST time celebrating my favorite Virgo ♍!Food was good, bottomless mimosas were even better.I would definitely come back
Ive been going here for years. I want to say the first time I went was at least 13 years ago. I went here the other day after maybe a 5-6 year hairus, and although it might just be nostalgia because it wasnt as packed as it was years ago, its still a good time. The lasted pretty long so I should tell you. Ive also done a couple of Sweet 16s here so its interesting to know they get into a wide range of events. Either way, most likely youll enjoy your time here. Definite recommend.
Recently hosted an Amazon event at the Taj Lounge and couldnt be more pleased. Christopher and his team were incredibly accommodating, ensuring our every request was met promptly and with a smile. The venue itself is stunning, the food was delightful, and the drinks were expertly crafted. Without hesitation, well be choosing Taj Lounge for all our future events.
LATIN MONDAYS AT TAJ!! I am so impressed by the quality of LIVE MUSIC at Taj every Monday night. Truly the best of NYCs Salsa musicians are featured at this weekly event. The orchestras preform on the dance floor, making you feel as if you are dancing within the music! The price is unbelievably cheap for the quality of the music and dancing experience. The interior of Taj has a tropical vibe, making it a perfect Monday getaway from the city’s hustle! Ive gone to Taj about at least 30 times since last summer. This is an amazing experience for visitors, music lovers and dancers. See ya on the dance floor!
Went for salsa Monday night a few times. The food is very good, service also very good. Dancing is a lot of fun as people there to dance, all levels. And of course the band, excellent! I’d highly recommend for a night out.
Food and drinks were great, mature vibes, and good music. Get there before 6:30 so you dont miss happy hour. Theres a $15 entrance fee, plus a mandatory coat check fee. I went on a Friday.
How do you mess up 3 times? The only reason they get 2 stars is because as soon as we sat down the drinks came 30 seconds later. I asked for a well done burger but They don’t know what well done means. After sending it back TWICE I gave up and ordered something else.
XENOPHOBIC STAFF . Staff profiling my Dominican girlfriend’s ID documents like an immigration officer. She gave her Dominican ID, then they asked for the passport. They took a good 5 minutes to inspect it as if they had never seen a passport before. The document very clearly indicates 2001 as a year in the date of birth so above 21. They obviously didn’t do the same for the others. Weird guy from the staff telling me I should flirt with one of the waitresses in front of my girlfriend. Very disappointed.
We had reservations for a birthday party. They charged the party. Communication with staff was horrible. When it was established party guests were charged in error, they did not refund back. Didnt even offer complimentary bottle, although we ordered bottles after bottles after bottles. Wont be going back!
A cool vibe. Good music. But I think they are a bit ridiculous about the dress code, especially for what the club is giving. A colleague couldn’t enter because her sandals didn’t have heels, or a back strap. If it had one of those, she would’ve been allowed. Another dude wasn’t let in because he had on shorts.
I went for Carribean night on Friday but I was too early and another event was happening which, the dj was playing house and it was cool. I bought a Rum punch: didnt know it was $22 for something the bartender squeezed from a bottle then added juice. That so called Rum punch, should be $10 at best. I left and returned for the carribean event but, no one on the line was dressed grown and sexy so I decided to leave. The level of sophistication has dropped over the years.
Mondays at Taj are always magical !!! The staff are absolutely lovely. The teachers having amazing energy and style! Usually a class is given which makes it attractive to everyone!!! Food, Drinks all makes for a fabulous Monday evening!!Bravo !!!
Definitely don’t see the hype.. Very Unprofessional & not even worth the time or money… They are very judgy on appearance and if they see you drinking outside their club they will not let you inside. Makes no sense to have a liquor store literally across the street from the club to expect people to not buy or drink liquor before entering the club.. Slate is right next door to this club and they had no problem letting people in who was drinking prior to entering…
As an actress from power and equalizer ! I have never been so unsatisfied. The manager was very unwelcoming and not nice . Me and myEntourage decided to go to lot45 . We had free entry and great service .as an artist/ actress I would never go back to Taj
What an unorganized event space. My first and last time with this venue as I’m convinced it’s a clown show.I bought brunch tickets on fever for 10 dollars a person, once I get to the door the woman at the front advised that I have to pay an additional 20 dollars( per person) for entry.I advised I had tickets and a reservation and she had no idea about the merchant called fever. She also event didn’t even try to help or assist us in this matter , she basically just. Brushed us off.My friend and I declined because we have to pay 40 dollars to get in plus 45 per person for brunch. When you add everything together this is a scam.Overall - don’t go to their brunch event as you are required to pay 10 dollar coat check , entry fee , and pay for the prefixed menu, I believe it’s 45 per entree.
Taj Lounge was an exceptional venue! I came out with some of my close friends and family during the first weekend of January for their Trapfest Vs. Reggae event.. The staff was incredibly kind and hospitable. Also may I add the prices for their birthday packaging was phenomenal. My company and I enjoyed the entire evening, thank you so much to Chris and the entire Taj Lounge Team.
Latin Mondays @ Taj’s are truly magical 🤩💃🏽🪩🥂🔥🔥🔥always amazing energy ! Great live bands delicious menu & great dancers. We Always have a wonderful joyful time thanks to Talia Tony & all the staff! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Last night, I went to a private event at this venue. The venue itself is pretty, and the human at the front entrance was patient and kind. I had a friend with me who is Blind and had a guide dog with him. I have food/drink sensitivities, so Im always very clear about asking whether there is diet soda or whether the flavored vodka contains sugar. I was told explicitly that the Ciroc flavored vodka has no sugar. They do not have any diet soda at all. The vodka was definitely sweet. The more important issue was that a person claiming to be the manager approached my friend and I asking if his guide dog is a service dog. Guide dogs do not wear a service dog jacket. Furthermore, no human who is assisted by a guide dog carries any paperwork explaining that they need their guide dog. There was blatant rudeness and discrimination, and he attempted to make us leave. We stood firm as we were not going to allow this discrimination to ruin our evening. But they need lessons in understanding basic civil rights and actual laws of discrimination.I would not willingly return. Nor would I recommend anyone with a kind heart and respect for humankind to spend their money here.
I was very disappointed with the customer service and inconsistency with this venue. My group and I made reservations. I spoke with a representative who identified himself as “Christopher,” who confirmed my reservation. Christopher explained that brunch was 2 hours, and then my group would have to get up from the table. However, if we purchase a bottle, we could keep our table and enjoy the day party.Well, after brunch, we purchased bottles to keep our table. They allowed us to stay at the table for an additional hour and said we needed to move for another group. I tried to explain to the promoter on site what was told to us by Christopher but they weren’t accommodating. We spent a lot of money for a brunch and day party to have to get up anyways. Very disappointed.
We hosted our company party here and needless to say we had the best time ever! Chris made it all work so smoothly and Temi the manager accommodated our every need. The food/drinks and staff were wonderful and the DJ played great music. I would definitely recommend this place. Looking forward to another great time.Definitely surpassed my expectation! Thanks again for making our event a great one!Pathology Dept/ Staff
Nice Place/Decor but extremely small inside. Over crowded and terrible food. The music is great & the folks are dancing all night so the vibration is wonderful.
We had our company holiday party (around 90 people) at Taj and I cant express how amazing they were to work with! Chris was beyond flexible and exceeded our expectations when it came to planning -- not only was he able to accommodate all dietary restrictions, but worked with us on some very fun signature cocktails for our guests. There was so much food (all delicious), the drinks were fantastic and the dessert table was never-ending!! Everyone at the company keeps talking about how this was the BEST holiday party theyve been to in years. I couldnt have pulled any of this off without Chris and his team. Rachel at the bar made phenomenal cocktails and Francisco was constantly moving tables around for me until I was 100% happy with the layout. Aside from the pricing being extremely fair, Chris attention to detail, calming presence and the hardwork of his team kept things running so smoothly that I was actually able to relax for once. Thank you to everyone at Taj -- we will definitely be back!
LADIES: beware of this place. TAJ DELETED MY REVIEW from a year ago after i went with a group of friends for her bday party and a man grabbed me from behind on the dance floor. it sucks to have this experience and THEN to act like my review doesn’t matter and to delete it? are you serious? YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
Music was good as always. My crew bought bottles. The tables on the dance floor were a hindrance for dancing.
A friend and I went to Taj Lounge for R&B brunch on Sunday. We had a great time. The DJ was on point, playing a mixture of music from the past and present. The wings and fries were delicious. The staff greeted you upon entry and made you feel welcomed. We will definitely return.
Hosted my son’s bar mitzvah party at Taj and it was a huge success. Both adults and kids (120 guests) had an incredible time. The manager Chris is the BEST - he is wonderful to work with and made sure everything was absolutely perfect. Even after the party he sent pictures and videos. The food was delicious, drinks spectacular and vibe super cool. Excellent place to have an event and I’d do it all over again.
We hosted our Wedding after party at Taj, we booked the upstairs Mezzanine and it was the best decision we could have made. From our first reach out up until we arrived we received awesome customer service! The set up was perfect, the food was great, the team on site was great and we had the best time! Our guest loved it!We had a 5 star experience with Taj!
Called and booked a table with bottle service a week before the event! Called before that just to confirm pricing. Was told it was $600-700 with tax and gratuity for 2 bottles plus free Champagne for the bday girl! I asked a whole lot of questions like the time the amount of people pricing and asked if I could bring a cake and balloons was told yes. When we got there they told us $50 cake fee or we would have to leave it at coat check! Then we finally get seated and they try to charge us almost $1000 for the table! Mind you we had 6 ppl which I told them and only seating for 4 if we squeezed in tight! Thankfully the bank had to have me approve the payment so it didnt go through! It was a fun night I guess if you like small places that try to overcharge you! The music was good and its lgbt friendly that was the only plus for me that night!
Worst establishment ever. Doesn’t tell you that they require coatcheck and it’s cash only. Everyone is very rude at the entrance and doesn’t even care if people traveled from far to come here, very sad. They can at least mention this on their IG or website but clearly this isn’t important to them. Would be so easy to accept Zelle. Or at least let me pay $3 for a required coat check, yet they take card for the entrance. In addition everyone is rude and miserable as hell, get new jobs!
Security with the beard and glasses was very friendly. Mandatory Coat check was $5. Food wasn’t too bad chicken was well seasoned but a bit overcooked. Music was the typical brunch playlist. Overall we had a good time.
Place is a ripoff. They charge $21 cover and $3 coat check just to get in, then add 20% gratuity to your check, and another 3% just to pay by card. Its not gratuity if you add it to the bill its a fee. They even charge $5 just for water. Hard to feel good while getting nickel and dimed for everything here.
The pop belly Irish man in the front is Robo cop in the flesh. I got sent away. Will never attend that place again. I have a social media following and my friends were inside already. Imagine being on a flier and can’t get in 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was super excited to celebrate my best friends birthday here. We got dressed and up and rode two trains, just to get turned away at the door because the ID machine didn’t immediately take my friends ID. When we asked if they could just scan one more time or was there something that could be done, the bouncers got super rude. They ignore all of our questions while shooing us out the door. Half of our party were already let in and paid for their entry. We couldn’t even communicate with them. They handled this situation super unprofessional and we’ll probably never give this place a chance again.
Worst place ever. terrible service (slow & rude) forced to pay $5 to check EACH COAT AND EACH UMBRELLA?????terrible food - served cold. they must’ve ran out of waffles bc I was served 1/2 of one.have no problem paying for services but make it good service. came in at 230pm & was pretty dead. no reason for the terrible service that was provided.at least serve in proper glasses. drinking out of plastic cups is just ratchet. this place is painted online to be a classy establishment, it’s not. they’re not even trying.highkey DO NOT recommend.
Beautiful experience every time I go. Staff, music, good and drinks are AMAZING!!!
If I could give 0 stars I would. This is nuts for a Saturday night. The promoter gives tickets free before 6 but dont let you until 545. They let you in 2 at a time. So regardless of if youre in line at 5 youre late & have to pay $20 cover. They have a mandatory coat check that they dont disclose online. ( That is cash only btw so they can get you to use their ATM . Accept card for coat check or dont at all its 2023. Its literally one more handheld device in the establishment especially when we have chairs to put our coats on but professionalism will NOT be found here.) Now lets get into the drinks and food. I know the mimosa was bottomless but they gave us orange juice with a splash of the cheapest low alcohol content sparkling wine . I left sober. I ordered the shrimp and grits because my friend said the wings were terrible. That was also horrible the shrimp didnt taste fresh as if it was it and sitting out. The grits tasted like microwave grits with nacho cheese and green peppers mixed in. I sent it back, asked for steak and eggs instead. Big mistake. My eggs werent fully cooked and it was scrambled eggs so that was nuts. The meat was greasy and so was the potatoes. I attempted to eat it because I didnt want to complain again but now Im home with food poisoning. Sick throwing up and using the toilet !!!! I saved an appetite for garbage and disappointment on my friends birthday. DO NOT GO HERE. THE DJ WAS ALSO HORRIBLE AND THE HOUND YOU TO PAY FOR BAD PICTURES LIKE BBQS. THIS SPOT IS FOR OLD PPL AND GHETTO PPL WHO DONT KNOW ANY BETTER. 0/10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Sucks!!! Waited in line and they said entry was $20 cash once we get inside. We got inside and it was mandatory to pay $5 for coat check. My friends and I didn’t have cash so we tried taking money out the atm and the atm didn’t even work!!! Then the price changed from $20-$30…. Weird. The security guard lady with dreads knew we were struggling to get the atm to work and the whole time she was accepting cash app. When I overheard that she accepted cashapp, we were willing to use that, just for her to say it will be $35. Very money hungry establishment. Too many good lounges and clubs in NYC to be acting that way. This is not even an exclusive high end club. Ended up going to Slate right next door and having a great time :)
I dont go here for the food so I cant comment on it personally. However, my friend that always orders food here tells me its good and he orders dinner there before the dance all the time. I go once a month on Thursday for the Hustle DJ dance night. I have a great time.
Great salsa band, terrific music, a dance lesson, easy location, nice crowd....what more could you ask for in Manhattan!!
Coat check is mandatory but it is cash-only. Bar accepts cards but there is a $20 minimum. Tips welcome for the coat checker and bathroom attendant, again, in cash. It’s like i got transported back in time and am forced to use the basement atm at a hefty $8 fee. The place itself is fine, but the cash policies are ridiculous.
I noticed that my previous review was deleted!!!! It was a terrible experience and I feel like leaving another one because this is ridiculous that instead of improving their service they remove bad reviews. Save your time and money and choose a different place.
Came here for a reggae, soca, and Afrobeats night, they literally played old Drake and Chris Brown ALLL NIGHT. For a place that overcharges for drinks and makes you pay to check your coat (with cash), and THEN the rude female security guard with locs is overly aggressive, glares at everyone that walks in, and was in my wallet touching my spiritual charms as if she’s not being offensive. Yes I offered to take them out for her, and she rudely and aggressively said she didn’t need me to do that. Check your staff and make sure it’s a welcoming environment if you’re gonna play trash music and overprice everything. Just sad and a waste of time. Space was cute tho ig. & to that female security guard that was doing the most for no reason, I hope you get fired for your aggressive handling.
The place is nice inside a small venue. No upstairs from what I witnessed sesting is amazing. Nice spot to have party if you shut it down and only allow your crew to work the event as well as plan out the whole guest list otherwise you could be robbed of an experience and waste allot of money.
Ok so honestly I have mixed reviews. I love the ambiance and the space. The food is great too and a good place for hookah. My only downfall is I went for the Sunday R&B brunch. We were there for 3 hrs but sadly half of the time the 3 DJs did not play R&B. Which normally wouldnt be a problem if that wasnt the advertised event. This is my 2nd time there where the R&B brunch lacked consistent R&B music.
Bouncers are rude and aggressive and the bartenders will over charge your card on purpose. be careful ! Came here for my birthday and had a bad time from the moment I got to the front door to the moment I left.
The place is nice and I jad a good time at Jeff Selbys event tonight.
Its one of the very few places to enjoy and have fun.. great people and dancing
Had the best time ever at the taj lounge. The staff where super amazing the dj had my group of ladies dancing all night. The service was amazing as well.
I came to a party here twice in August and September , i keep getting charged on my account for something I didn’t purchase which is ridiculous if you come here just bring cash don’t trust non of these bartenders with your card the only person I’ll advise to you use your card for is the photographer you’ll get your receipt right then & there and then booths are 600 when they feel like it then it’s 1500 when they feel like it , also you can purchase hookah but you’ll have to stand with it (it doesn’t bust btw ) doesn’t come with a table at all . Honestly I’m my opinion it’s nice if your not from NYC but if you are trust me you probably find way better places to party( TikTok sent me here)
This place is way overpriced and overrated...Security and desk Tramps try to scam you..Customers are very immature..Dont drink if you going to act stupid...GO NEXT DOOR TO SLATE.. YOU WILL HAVE A MUCH BETTER TIME...👌🏽
This place needs to modernize itself. You cant pay with Apple pay and they dont have the Union app. Every bar in NYC has the Union app except this place. I had to pay somebody with venmo who ordered my drink for me. I dont carry cash or cards when I go out. This isnt the 1990s anymore. Its 2023 for christsake.
Beautiful, great drinks, nice service, fun for large events. The balcony level definitely makes you feel like royalty
The people that work here is veryyyyy rude !!! The coat check people RUDE ! Cursing people out ! Security RUDE! Waiters RUDE!!! Only nice person is Carl , the security!!
Came for a closed footsteps event, the food was average, and the decor is nice, but not as spacious.
Special thanks to KEVIN!!! This spot was amazing for brunch; very live and the place to be!
A nice place to go after work on a Friday to have some fun and let off a little steam.
Went there for my sister’s birthday it was nice… The bouncer Kevin was the bomb!!!
They sold passes for entry before 10 pm and purposely make people wait till 10 even the the space was empty. They said it’s $40 dollar cover and when I purchased they said it’s ‘cover entry’. Scam
I got a ticket that was free admission before 11:30pm…the line moved so slowly that I waited on line since 11pm but when I got in the club it was after 11:30 and told I’d have to pay $40
Its a great place to hang out, especially when they play disco.
Good food, great atmosphere, good music. Place is lit. Definitely going back again 🔥🔥🔥
Always a good time here! The food is yummy and the drinks smack. Doesn’t matter what time or day, you’re bound to have a good time here.
Bounce tried to rip me off $100 when I pay for VIP very unprofessional told me to wait in line. If not I had to give him $100. To skip the line.
Great place.. Great food.. Great Atmosphere.Would love to keep an event here..ISLAND ROOTS MUSIC GROUP
Family respect from his uncle with all my love Mary his grandmother sends her love and respect to to her grandson
False advertising, free entry before 11:30 pm but gates opened at 11:45 pm. Wanted 40$. This place is a scam
Drinks are expensive, Dj is lit if youre an 80s baby
Food is good 👍🏾 😋 Drinks 🍸 are soso🤷🏾♀️
Gorgeous inside... Employees are super sweet....
Taj is a complete rip-off. Dont get tickets online cus when you get to the door they want way more.
Had a great experience at the day party.Very pricey but overall experience was wonderful
Simple, elegant and my type style😉
Not too bad to celebrate your birthday

Best place to have a party
Very nice
Beautiful club
Not good music.
Love the waitress
Wish i had the ability to turn back time and never enter this establishment 😁
Well located place, a few blocks from the metro. The wardrobe costs $3 per item and $20 per item, which is preferred in cash. The admission staff is very friendly and in general the service is very good. Excellent music and artists, a highly recommended option to have fun and have a good time, I will surely return on my next trip to NY.
Spectacular place with a salsa atmosphere with a live orchestra, recommended 100x100
