CeeCee was an amazing masseuse. I felt comfortable and relaxed and had a wonderful experience. She offered me use of a special pillow for larger chested persons to lay down on my stomach more comfortably. Had never heard of this pillow but it was really nice and made me want to get one for myself at home. Will definitely be back to get a massage with CeeCee again. Thank you!

Scam. Not worth it. Once you start you will never be able to get out from under it. So bad we both had 6 services each accrued and we just decided to cut our losses and leave. After being with massage envy since 2013/14, we moved from the DMV area to Newport news and transferred our membership. When we moved back in 2020, we were not allowed to transfer back to the DMV and always charged an upcharge. Then...when our credit card expired we decided we will not update it. Use our remaining services and be done. But now we have to buy the months from when our card expired to now to even schedule the ones we paid for...showing that its like a gym membership...once they get you...they wont let go.

Horrible experience! I was to receive a massage from Donald. I arrived at 4:45, my appointment was at 5pm. By 5:15, I asked if they were running behind as my appointment was 15 minutes ago. The front desk worker apologized, stating she was behind her time. Just then appeared Donald, very rude from go asking if there was a problem? I stated no, just wondering what was going on since he was 15 minutes late. Immediately, no apology, or accountability, you want to reschedule? I said no, I stated having no communication put me in an imposition. I just wanted to know what happened, again, no apology you want to reschedule? I said, why do you keep stating that? I never said I wanted to reschedule. Mindyou this is in full ear shot of his MGR and the front desk worker. I ended up speaking with the MGR, she allowed him to stay and I who had done nothing had to go. They apologized, but clearly Donald is allowed to behave this way with no consequences. Dont go here! You are not valued and the GM has yet to contact me even after I sent and email with my contact information.

The store atmosphere was great! Soothing music, lighting & heated massage tables.The massage itself was fairly good. I like that my therapist felt around for trouble areas.I don’t like that I arrived for my appointment 15 til & I didn’t start my massage until 10 mins after my start time. I would have been fine with the delay but the massage was not extended. There are too many other massage places around that are cheaper & render better massages to continue going there.

I have been a member for a while.Each location has its issues but as of recently they have made some significant improvements.I enjoy getting a great facial monthly.The environment is calming and relaxing.

Went in for a a microderm and was told this service is only a 45 minutes facial (I only got 30 minutes consider the 10 minute consultation and she was done by 11:40) even tho it’s listed as a 60 minute AND you’re paying $60 more on top of your membership which would be understandable except it is a basic facial. They cleanse and microderm and rub stuff on your face. Theres no massage, no mask, nothing for an additional $60 and less time. On top of that you don’t get a blanket or anything you just lay there. I have been far from impressed since I got this membership but this was by far the worst experience. Patiently waiting for a call back from corporate.

Appointment was cancelled 30 minutes beforehand. Last time, front desk called to cancel appointment AS I AM WALKING IN. Unacceptable in my opinion , no matter the reason for cancellation because I am pretty sure they knew their therapist called out since earlier. Just poor communication.

Great massage and great explanation of services and products. Atmosphere is very calming and welcoming. They made me feel super comfortable.

Nice place, nice people, amazing massage therapist! Ill be back. Located in a nice shopping area too. Youll be able to grab a bite to eat after youve had your amazing session. They do facials too!

In the establishment currently and was not greated with a smile but with attitude . The lady Marria (red shirt curly hair) was very short when asked question and seemed uninterested in helping . She seemed bothered. She acknowledged this and asked “ does it seem like I’m being short “ ?? I do not recommend this place if you’re looking to get away from everyday stress and negative energy .customer service is important.

My spot for the Best massages, the staff is very friendly very courteous and very respectful, the masseuse are all very good and talented with their hands and know what theyre doing my two favorites are Lee & Rhonda, ask for them by name you wont regret it, tips are appreciated too🎁

Unfortunately I did not stay for the massage. I walked in to schedule an appointment. I wasnt told anything about the treatment or what to expect. The day of my appointment I was asked to come in early for paperwork. I arrived 30 min early and finished the paperwork in about 3/5 min. It went downhill from there. I dont believe there is a relaxation room to sit in before your massage because I was never brought to one. I sat in the front lobby where you could hear all of the employees conversations and complaints. I was never offered a beverage. Most spas have at least water for their customers. As I sat there for 20 min or more I decided that it was not a relaxing pleasant experience. The manager allowed for me to cancel. Ill just continue to go to Four Seasons.

Horrible service, I would not return to this facility. Owner very rude & manager ver unpleasant.. came for a $70 massage they charged $120 but upon scheduling appointment I was told one price at the time of scheduling.. first time trying and VERY unhappy, massage was horrible as well. Thankful it was a gift and not my own money except the additional $45 they got out of my account!!!!!!!! Owner & management does not have pleasant skills to serve their client. If I could give it a 0/5 I would.

I have been a member here for years. I am now cancelling that membership. No one at the front desk apparently is trained to answer the phone anymore and they do not tell you correct information. Appointments I make are apparently not being set because I’ll show up for an appointment that I have scheduled and they tell me I don’t have one. I’m so disappointed and love my massage therapist, she’s literally taken care of me for 5 years, but I’m not going to pay a monthly service fee for subpar care.

Massage therapist did well. Management, not so much. Rude, disrespectful to my whole family. Told the therapist to cancel my wifes massage after we were checked in. Very inaccessible for folks with disabilities.

I was extremely disappointed with my massage today. The person giving the massage said she can do all pressures, that 100% false. I need a deep tissue massage to get any real results out of it. I literally ended up feeling the same when I went in except for the fact I know had a bunch of lotion on my body. When the person in the front asked how it went I told her I was disappointed. She said oh Im sorry...its going to be $83.00. I was in disbelief in her response. Hopefully I can get faith next time. She knows how to give a massage.

I like firm pressure so when I asked Faith was recommended as well as trying her hot stones for 90 minutes. I went early at 1245 for a 1pm today and sat until 111pm I had to go ask if I was checked in. Brittany the very nice front desk lady went and check and stated the hot stones where being warmed and she would be with me. Faith came and got me at 115pm brought me to the room and asked what I liked, she never said a word about being late. I explained and she told me she hasn’t done firm in over 4 years. I said ok you were referred so we’ll see what you do. She told me she was the best and had all the clients booking her out so ok. By that time it’s 120pm and I’m just about to get undress. Takes her another 5 minutes to come in the room and set up with stones. Ok so she started by leaning her elbow in my calf and staying there and I say that’s too much pressure. She says well that’s my deep pressure and I have the strongest fingers here. I let her know then ok give me your medium but, she starts off the same way and then starts lightly rubbing me then moves on to using the stones. It was one of the worst massages I have gotten and have been going massage envy for over 10 years. It’s like she wanted to prove some point, dig down, stop and through out the massage she would stop and rub with one hand. I had to ask a couple of times if everything was ok. She kept telling me she was the best and most requested there. I had to tell her I didn’t want the stones. So she continues with just her hands. Basically it was an inconsistent massage and I don’t see how she’s the best. I tried Abbey and she was wonderful, I’m going stick with Abbey and take no more recommendations. Just my take on trying to relax. I did not get my 90 minutes. She was done at 230. Would not recommend her or hot stones. This is the first time I have ever felt like leaving a comment.

To preference this review which may seem harsh. Know that I have monthly massages at Destress Express, a locally owned boutique type spa by a very seasoned and skilled therapist. I had to miss an appt so I was finally able to use a GC a friend got me for this place.I left Massage Envy underwhelmed and frustrated. Trying to schedule took 3 calls. On arrival, I literally stood in front of the receptionist for 30 secondsbefore she stopped typing to greet me. I was handed a tablet to sign in that had all their other customers names visible. The rooms have no music and the ambiance is lackluster. I specified which areas I needed worked on. I was frustrated with my entire massage experience. I believe its because I am accustomed to the hands of a skilled therapist. I requested DEEP tissue. My assigned therapist here was young and unable to provide the type of pressure I needed. I believe she did the best she could. I left with my shoulder still tight and aching. She barely touched my forearms and thumb. Sadly, I will have to return to work (physical therapist)with a tight shoulder and achy hands. I will try to get one of my coworkers to work on me if time allows. I am praying my shoulder will hold out until I can get back to my regular MT at Destress Express

Massages be mediocre. They be falling asleep while massaging. Constantly cancelling appointments at the last minute even when I try a new person. Talk too much during the appointment. It was nice when I first started my membership over a year ago now it’s 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

I recently moved here from Israel and I was so excited to finally find a good massage lady to go to weekly.The massage (with Kacie) was great, but unfortunately, after it was over, the front desk lady tried to hustle me (into some monthly contract) and was so aggressively pushy that almost made me lose my temper. She was worse than a desperate car sales person. I don`t like pushy people. I`ll get in a contract IF and WHEN I want to, not because some pushy sales lady hustled me.To make matters worse, after she noticed that I was getting agitated, she didn`t even apologize! I also don`t appreciate bad customer service! For that, I will NEVER go back there again, nor will I recommend this place to anyone!!! That totally ruined the good massage experience for me! I`ll look for a different place.

Went to the newport news location 4 times. First masseuse forgot her name was wonderful room located in front smelt nice. Cant seem to get her again though. Then Had a guy Mike who seemed scared. I also had a bad allergy attack because the room smelt like an ashtray, it was a back room on left hand side. So obviously left miserable. 3rd time got faith she was late but wonderful pressure got front room also so was good massage. 4th time got faith again & yet again was late, pressure was off, she kept stopping using one hand as if maybe doing something else with other hand. Got that room in back left hand side that again smelt like an ashtray, so left feeling awful coughing sneezing, awful allergy attack. Very disappointing. Not sure what goes on in those back rooms but it should not smell like a smoking room. So today I will be trying the hampton location with Brian we will see.

I moved here recently and desperately needed a massage from being on my feet all day in the dental field we don’t really take breaks. I was recommended to try out Massage Envy and I am so glad I did, Carl did a wonderful job getting all of the knots and tightness out of shoulders and legs. I would highly recommend him at massage envy.Thank you for a relaxing and much needed experience.

Shannon is amazing. Listens to my needs every time! I highly suggest booking with her and making sure it’s later in the evening during the week. Otherwise it’s very hard to relax with all the noise some of the staff and customers end up making through the halls. My boyfriend also enjoyed his first massage with Jordan when we had a couples massage for our birthdays.

I had trouble canceling my membership here multiple times. When I finally was able to cancel- they sent an email to the wrong email address to tell me that I had only 1 month to use my unused massages. I find this out AFTER I tried to get one of the many massages I paid for- in a new state. If you are military or military family STAY AWAY. They do not honor the military community or understand that during a move we can’t get massages. When I emailed corporate- they didn’t respond for days- and when they did I was told that it was too bad, and all the massages I paid for and never got was my problem. I will never use massage envy again. Horrible service and definitely not for the military family and our unique lives. Huge mistake.Huge waste of money.

Just got done with my first ever massage and it was wonderful. Faith was my therapist and was absolutely fantastic! It was a very mellow, calming experience and I do feel waaaay better than before I showed up. Faith was clearly experienced, she did an excellent job of reading my bodys reaction to her pressure and also was fun to conversate with as well. Thank you!

Everything is fine until you cancel your membership, then you’re given a limited time to use your remaining massages. I’m out of $100 (2 massages) because I wasn’t able to take 5 massages in 7 weeks. They claim they can’t extend the time because the system won’t allow it. That’s poor customer service!

The women in here really do not get enough credit. I have been seeing Shannon for quite some time. Complete necessity! She continues to blow my mind just how amazing she is with her skill & personality. We have thheeeee best sessions! Taffy has blessed my face as well as given me incredible knowledge for my 30something skin at home. Ive never looked & felt better! And I just absolutely love Kelly at the front desk. Shes always incredibly sweet & friendly! Coming in never feels any different than walking into a friends home. Yall are stellar & I will always & continue to recommend you guys! 💛

Went for massage at this location today. I told the therapist is needed work on back, shoulders, and legs. The therapist spent 5 minutes massaging my fingers? No work even got done on my lower body. Then after the massage the hard sell for a membership was the worst part. I felt like I had stumbled onto a used car lot.

As a former employee I can honestly say that the people I worked with are amazing. Both front of the house and back of the house. However, management (The owners) Mark, Lien, and Gungaa are terrible at caring for their employees and their clients. They are money hungry. They force their employees to meet a certain amount of sales within a day and if they don’t make that number the employees get in trouble and can end up getting fired. When clients come to us wanting a relaxing massage experience they want us to immediately go into sales mode. They only pay $9 for 7 days a week and 12 hour shifts with no breaks or lunch break. The front desk runs around helping the clients, doing things for the therapists, and stays until 11pm to clean the entire clinic just to be back at 7:30 am. The owners do not care about their clients or any money/family problems they may be having. They will call people and cancel their appointments for them (management) to take the spot for their own massage. They will also talk bad about their clients and employees. It seems like a nice relaxing place but in reality... they don’t know how to run a proper business. The only time they get themselves together is when corporate comes to check how things are running. As a former employee I do not recommend giving this business your money or time of day. They will be out to take as much money from you as they can. If you decide to do so please ask questions about the contracts because they will lie to you and tell you what you want to hear. You can find cheaper massage/facial spas that do a better job and who are not just after your money. Mark and Lien... If you see this I hope you are trying to better your business and I hope you start taking care of your employees at all the locations. (Newport News, Hampton, and Williamsburg)

The staff was excellent, professional, and courteous. However, my husband and I went in for massages 2 days ago and the massages were sub par. I went in for a deep tissue massage, and there was nothing deep about it. It felt like a regular light pressure massage. My husband went in for a Swedish massage and stretch session which he stated the massage just felt like a general rub down. The stretch session wasnt anything more than a home stretch before a work out. After having massages in Korea and other places in the states this place did not meet our expectations. Bottom line we will not be returning for massages.

I came to Massage Envy after being discriminated against at a different salon for having a service dog. I was very apprehensive to go to another salon due to my previous experience but everyone was phenomenal. They called my nerves and alleviated any and all apprehension. Im looking forward to my next appointment and immediately signed up for a membership. I cant recommend this location enough. Professional, clean, calm and relaxing.Thank you so much to everyone I had the pleasure of speaking with today.

What a wonderful experience with Jeff. I have been a member for over two years and he is by far my favorite. Mixed in a 30 minute stretch session and 60 minute massage. Next time I want to schedule a 30 min stretch and 90 min massage with Jeff. He read my body issues and works hard to release tension and knots. Also the staff are friendly and accomodating. Very happy!

I went in for a facial and it was a fine experience, the lady was nice enough .. but when I went in we didn’t really talk about my skin and when we did it’s because I wanted her to be aware of how sensitive it is . But anyways , she grabbed her products and we went on... she talked through the entire process which is okay but she said nothing that I thought was helpful because I’d heard it all before ! I thought maybe this would be more of consultation and getting a understanding of my skin before the facial but it just seemed like she wanted me in and out. So she washed it , fine .. said something about extractions but didn’t extract squat ! Then proceeded to put some sort of pumpkin mask on my face and it F**KING burned . I couldn’t even form words, I did say it burned and tingled bad && was CLEARLY uncomfortable it was at a 7-8. She fanned my face and the burning stopped and she wiped it .. Toned my face and put a mustard seed amount of moisturizer on my face to finish. She asked how it was and I said fine because I just wanted out of this place to see what my face looks like. It felt tight and DRYYYY && it was ! Still mask in my hair and around my jaw line . I got home and washed my face went to sleep and woke up Looking HORRIBLE!! WHATEVER they put on my face Burned it , I took pictures and video and if I could put it up here I would . This has been so annoying and uncomfortable a waste of a birthday present I literally should have gotten the massage. But based on the reviews of that I didn’t miss much either. I really regret this though because my skin is horrible to start and I really thought it would be a great experience. My face is Raw I’ve just been washing it with warm water and putting aloe v gel on it. But it literally still burns and is very uncomfortable I don’t even want to touch it.Try somewhere else .

Have been a member for almost a year now and have only been able to get in there once. Never any availability that fits my schedule, so I’ve paid $65 a month for a year and have all these free massages built up and can’t use them. It’s been so long since I’ve been there I can’t even remember if it was good or not.

My mother and I went in for a 90 minute couples massage yesterday. We were both extremely disappointed. We both have had many massages at many different places so we have quite a basis for comparison. My mother said she could tell her massage therapist did not have much experience. As for me, my massage was terrible. Not the worst Ive ever had but close. I like a firm touch and I told them this when I made the appointment. I had to keep telling her to add more pressure. She would for a few minutes then back to just gently rubbing lotion on me. I felt like my massage therapist did not have much experience either. I finally got so bored I fell asleep. I do have to say this was the first massage where I fell asleep. And like I said, Ive had many. To sum up our experience, we felt like we paid close to $200.00 to have lotion applied to us. There is nothing worse than looking forward to having a massage, spending all that money and then getting a mediocre massage and being disappointed.

I wish I could remember my attendants name, I apologize. I would love to give her kudos. The right amount of pressure. I fell deep asleep 2/3 of the way in to my massage, lol. It is, on the pricier side, but I am satisfied with the service received. Loved the heated table.

I booked with Elizabeth Besty who was initially polite and attentive, but I was clear that I liked light pressure and she was very rough even after I spoke up and said she was hurting me. She massaged my gluteal muscles even though I put in the little tablet thing prior to the massage AND on the online booking that I didnt want to be touched there. (I should have said something again, but shed already ignored me once and I dont do well with confrontation.) Worst of all, Im now having trouble sitting because she seems to have pinched a nerve near my right hip. Im very disappointed.UPDATE: The same day I made this post I also lodged a complaint through the Massage Envy website as Ive seen them ask other people who posted negative reviews to do. The message said Id be contacted within 48 hours. Its been a week and a half no with no response. Clearly they dont care. Dont just avoid Betsy - avoid Massage Envy all together. I recommend DeStress Express in City Center - ask for Michelle!

Took my BF to get his very first professional massage. I cant speak much to his experience, but I had an excellent massage therapist (I think thats what theyre called) named Matt. He did an amazing job, very professional, and exemplified all that I have come to expect from Massage Envy. The only disappointment I faced was in the lack of York peppermint patties :/

I started going here as one time thing. I ended up getting a membership. Shannon is my therapist now and she is exquisite. The entire staff is friendly and polite. But Shannon really is awesome

So I have been coming here for a couple months so Im going to review by masseuse. I did a membership for 3 months for $180 which you get a free massage monthly and you can book as many as one massage per week for the discounted price of $40 (normally $90 ish). I also get facials for the discounted price of $40.Front desk people:Ive dealt mostly with Misty and she is amazing! She remembers you when you walk in and you dont even need to provide your name. She is very much to the point as well. Gets you in and out as it should be and works with couples getting massages at the same time and trying to book appointments.Massages:Betsy: if you want a very relaxing massage with a light touch this is your woman! Dont get me wrong though, when she senses some tension or knots on your body she will apply the pressure. She knows her pressure points too which is nice. Then she ends the massage with a nice hot towel which was a really nice touch.Jordan: if you dont mind a man massaging you then he is your guy. His big hands works towards your advantage and he has very good pressure. He is very conscientious about what you like as far as the pressure. Definitely one of my favorite people to get a massage from at massage envy.Shannon: this girl! She wears those toe shoes which I think helps with her grip on the floor which I think helps her with achieving that harder pressure which is great. (Just my theory, she could just like the toe shoe look). She is also super knowledgeable about the body and doesnt mind sharing her knowledge if you ask her. I like to get her for husband because he likes the super hard pressure.Facials:Terry: I really liked her personality. Shes very real with you and tells you whats happening with your face! Lol. She is so knowledgeable about the products and will give you a whole regiment.

Extremely disappointed with the service the staff and in general I felt I was being ripped off I should have said something but I didnt want anyone to say I was intimidating them. I would avoid this place if you want to go to a real Spa go to the Williamsburg Spa. They also seem to have extremely cheap products and I actually ended up getting little pimples from whatever product that you used.

Absolutely, the worst. I get massages every two weeks or so for training and I have for years. This place is the worst I have ever been to. Trashy and overpriced. I’m not sure which I wasted more the time or the money.

They have no place to cancel your appointments unless you call. There hours were changed due to covid-19 so I couldn’t call them. And after I told them I couldn’t make my original appointment, they still wanted to charge me for services not rendered. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy. These days are tough, and instead of trying to work something out, they just wanted money.

Went here and I don’t understand why it’s advertised that you’ll get a 60min massage when that is a total fabrication!! Highly upset and disappointed. I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment and I received my massage almost 30 minutes after my scheduled time needless to say my massage was 40 minutes versus 60 minutes! I don’t understand the false advertisement and why it’s as such!

I went one time. And afterwards I told the young lady that I would call for a appointment. She said no make your appointment now and you will get a reminder. No reminder but they where sure to take 60$ out of my account. Do not go here.

2nd time getting a facial and scheduled one for next month. I love Taffy. She is so professional, personable, and educates you throughout the process. She listens and takes her time with you.

Took my wife here. Awesome customer service. My wife said her massage was amazing. They didnt pressure us into buying any extras.

KC is my therapist. I book her months in advance. I truly feel a difference since I was gifted the subscription. I love this place.

Massages are not started on time. I noticed the timers are started with 50 minutes on them before they leave you to undress so your hour massage is really 45 minutes or less.

Had a great Facial just wasnt too happy that i had to drive from Hampton to Newport News to get one due to lack of ESTHETICIANPlease hurry and hire for HAMPTON LocationOther than that problem i would consider renewal of my membership

Betsy is the best :) I experience neck/back pain every day due to my scoliosis, her deep tissue massage was a huge relief. I feel so much better ! :)

They never told me about a 12 payment policy before canceling, wasnt even in my contract. But now since I want to cancel they are telling me I cant till I pay the last bit of my payments. If I could give no stars I would be happy too. Going to corporate.

Was in the Newport news and a 1hr massage was 30mins the massage therapist was falling asleep the massage table was leaning to the left the heater was not working the worst massage and a waste of my $ 60. Go on Groupon for better massage places

Very detailed, deep tissue massage. Therapist Athena did a great job and the staff was very friendly. Very affordable and I would highly recommend giving this place a try
