Excellent! Manager Jim, was delightful. Facility was clean with a relaxing vibe. I went with the positive reviews for Wendy as my massage therapist she was exceptional. She actually listened when I pointed out my area of concern and worked out the kinks with a great technique. Some further details...I was hesitant to go to Massage Envy because there were many negative reviews saying that they randomly cancel appointments and that they are relentless in trying to sell you membership. This was NOT the case at all at this location however, I will tell you that based on my experience (and I cant believe Im saying this) I may actually consider a membership. 60 minute massage for $65 a month could be a very healthy thing to do especially if going to Wendy. I should also mention that the reason I even went to ME was because they generously donated a massage and facial gift card to the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern PA and I was the highest bidder. Thank you ME for your donation. Thank you Wendy and Jim for proving the negative reviews to be incorrect.
I was very wary about going to Massage Envy based on other reviews I had read. I decided upon the Newtown Square location because it was the best of the worst in terms of reviews on Google/Yelp. My therapist was Ariene and she was top-notch. 2 minutes into talking to her I knew I was in good hands and that she was very knowledgeable. She did not disappoint and gave me the best massage Ive had in years. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a new massage therapist.
I found this place last month and have already been here three times! I knew this place was special the first time I walked in. Massage Envy is tucked away in Newtown Square Shopping Center and is my secret little relaxation retreat. Its a brand new spa and this location is beautiful; it has a relaxing feel. On all my visits the staff has been accommodating and knowledgeable. I can alway count on getting an appointment. If you have the time, go for the 90 minute or book a facial and massage for the same visit.
For the last 3 months, I have been making it a weekly routine to forgo the monotonous traffic and get a weekly massage at the end of my week. I have seen most of the therapists here. All have been good, but I work out a lot and require a deep therapeutic pressure. Alex, Rene, and Mandy have been great in regard to deep tissue work. This place is convenient, relaxing, and has become a very important start to my weekends.
I have been going here for awhile. I have had some.great massages. I am giving it 3 stars for two reasons. The quality is hit or miss. And the good therapists dont stay long. The second reason is its aggressive marketing tactics. First, its store front is starting to look like the front of a 7-11 with ads pasted on most of the window. Entering is not exactly inviting and tranquil. When you approach the counter, be prepared for the aggressive receptionist. Next, the tranquility room is not exactly tranquil. Although it is a dimly lit room with comfy couches and a fake fire place, the bright lights from a tv screen flashing advertisements will suck any tranquility from your body.
The Newtown Square location is great! The facial was amazing. The esthetician really knew what she was doing, and it was obvious she loves her job. My husband got a massage and said it was one of the best massages hes had.
I had a one hour massage yesterday. The masseuses fingernails were too long. As a result, I have 2 long scratches on my back. This was not my first disappointment at this location. My membership contract doesnt end until May 2016; otherwise I would cancel my membership.
We provided emergency service to this location in Dec 2017 and we still have yet to receive payment, notwithstanding us making multiple requests for payment. Another comment I previously read (now gone unfortunately) from someone who purported to be a former employee leads me to believe this location may be having financial issues. As a consumer, I would be worried about the products a spa may be using, if they are indeed having financial issues. As a supplier, I would recommend not providing service to this franchise.UPDATE - we went to court, obtained a judgment and then got paid.
I have been a member for over a year I can never get appointment They Go Into Your Account AND Take Out More Money than their supposed to. They never enough ppl to give messages or facials and they trick people into signing up for a year and wont let you out of your contract without a doctor note. I a really fair person but this place is the worst. The Baltimore pike location is not that bad but this location is the worst dont get suckered in
There is difference between massage and rubbing oil to your body. they need to know that. facial was horrible as massage rip off I dont think they know what they doing.
It was my first time in this place and i think is overpriced and they dont give a good services.. The theraphist seems like she just wan to go home instead finish her job properly. Thats all i have to say dont waste your money.!!
Wendy did an excellent job. Perfect pressure and great massage
