Very fun place to go to dance and feel carefree. However the lines to the bathrooms are crazy long anf packed. The Caucasian male server with short hair refuses to serve anyone who wont tip him.
Awesome club with one major problem - mirror tiles above the bathroom stalls. Id give 5 stars if it werent for that, but it is such an invasion of privacy. If you look up you can literally watch someones full intimate bathroom experience, exposed and all.The music was decent, the drink lines were long and lots of people cut making it longer of a wait. But the drinks were delicious, not too expensive, and the vibe was on point.Edit: we returned to Angles 7 months after this review, on 4/12/24. My review is no longer what it was above - the mirror tiles still above the bathroom stall, the DJ promised my husband hed sing me happy bday and didnt, then to top it all off there was a brawl in the parking lot after closing time. YIKES. 😕
The old bartender is on a power trip and refused me service when I went to buy my FIRST drink. He said I was “too drunk” when I had just gotten there. He told everyone to not serve me and then continued to smile and laugh at me. This was my first time here and I will not be going back due to him. He would even talk to me or tell me why he thought I was drunk but I was not. I will definitely be telling my friends and family to stay away. Whole experience was ruined because of an old man on a power trip. Do better
I have been assaulted at Angles on more than 5+ occasions. Unfortunately, I do not feel safe here. :(I initially thought that because this is a LGBTQIA+ safe space, the concept of consent would be better understood by the party-goers. However, I have met several acquaintances who have not only been assaulted here, but also have been roofied, as well. The staff is wonderful and amazing. The bartenders and very kind. However, I’m unsure if I should return back anytime soon.
Weird old men recorded my girlfriend and her friends. We reported them to the bouncers and they said “tough, it’s your word against their’s.” This place is corny and doesn’t deserve your business
Dj sucks. Give up Miley Cyrus and early 2010s lame tunes, pLS WE ARE BEGGING.
My husband and I go here at times for years and we personally know 2 of the bartenders there. They both make us feel welcomed, front staff is welcoming and ID everyone even if they know or remember you. It’s a large venue with a upstairs area however the steel winding steps could be difficult and safety issue for those who consume to much. So be careful. The crowd is mixture of people but at times it gets overwhelming due to some drinking too much or high smh. Also many drop their drinks on the dance floor which is and issue and this place definitely needs better exhaust vents for the smoke.Another issue I would state is that isn’t the LGBTQ supposed to be accepting of everyone ? It seems many are very judgmental or hateful towards str8 people or couples…why? A safe place is for everyone not just who you deemed worthy.Drinks are pricy as if you was in Dallas or some concert.
This place has gone extremely down hill since the new manager Shane took over. Will not be returning unless he is gone. This place was way better managed by David. It does not feel like a safe place for the LGBTQIA+ anymore. It’s catered to mostly straight people now. And, the security is so uptight and RUDE with people. It did not use to be like this. It use to feel like a safe environment for our community. GET RID OF SHANE. Bring David back. Get new security that isn’t so rude and doesn’t harass people constantly.
Bartender ignored me after leaving a great tip for first round. Patrons and staff are arrogant. Music is mostly over 3 years old.
They play the same song every weekend please play up to date music please !
Giving it four stars because it is the best dance club in okc and the drinks aren’t as cheap as tramps but not too expensive. One of the door ladies are really nice and sweet and the other one is kind of rude, grouchy, and mean but aside from that it’s a pretty peaceful and happy place in my experience just always remember to watch your drinks when the bars are crazy busy (like you should be doing at any club) and I think you’ll have a good night.
First time going, really loved the bartender upstairs. Great dance area, strong drinks, but THE DJ HAS GOTTA GO. Dude was on a 2010 greatest hits playlist,no actual mixes, and no smooth transition. I remember quiet pauses once the songs ended and it kinda killed the mood. Yall catch up with the times 😭 We have Lil Nas X for gods sake, stop playing Miley Cyrus
Was there this weekend and it was honestly so boring. The music was terrible. Like awful, i would rather go to a rodeo club because even they would play better music. However, that alone is not worth a 1 star review. The real kicker are the signs that say “No Free Water”. What shady business denies water to its customers? A basic human right that you want to charge for? Ridiculous. You should be encouraging the consumption of water not charging for it.
Great DJs always a fun night!
Always love the vibes at this place! I can Hoop and dance on their huge dancefloor and they always have my favorite, confetti! Lol cant beat the vibe for free cover and cheap drinks! Definitely going to be my regular spot 💙💙💙
I have traveled all over the U.S. and certain parts of the world and I can honestly say, unequivocally ... that the DJ was the worst Ive ever heard. I felt like I was at a 2010 prom. Technically speaking, he was even worse. Songs crashing into one another like bumper cars, constantly switching genres and bpm. 5 stars for the bartenders and drinks, -3 stars for the guy pressing play on his 1 Gen Ipod shuffle.
A beautiful 🌈 💎 surrounded by the ugliness of a state controlled by ignorant hateful people! It was a younger(not meant to imply that it’s just a younger crowd because it isn’t) and extremely diverse crowd that was just wanting to be themselves and have fun! It was a great experience!
We really enjoyed our time dancing on the floor. Superb, 100% awesome. Then we went up stairs and one of our friends was feeling ill and wanted some ice and water. We bought the water, but they wouldnt give us ice.Ice...He straight up ignored us and went to another customer.Really ruined the whole experience.
Came for Super Bowl night but we werent even sure it was open it was so dead. Just 7 people all at tables with a dead vibe in the room. Pls advertise your events better!!!
The spot is good but the DJ is not as good he is putting music on YouTube cause he doesnt have the right music it should be club music especialy in a gay club he should put techo
Fun place to hang out, meet new people and the best dance music. Very friendly bartenders and really good drinks. A bit pricey but everything has increased in price in the last few years.
Free every weekend unless and event is taken place and it’s usually at most $10
The people inside are cool but its definitely not the Angles of the 90s. The Dj plays mostly top 40 instead of house and dance. Im sorry but Ive never been to major or even semi major dance club where the DJ has absolutely no ability to mix the songs together seamlessly and after he completely slaughters the mix into another song it has no rhythm usually going into a completely different genre one going from rap to Miley Cyrus with literally the worst mix Ive heard. I looked at the sound system and its quality but basically Im sorry but if they have to replace the DJ.
Great place. clean, friendly, good music and drinks.
The staff was nice, it just took way too long to get a drink, plus people would keep jumping the line to get a drink. They need more people working the bar.
Do NOT recommend! My friend was a victim of the owner saying racial slurs at her and a group of friends she was with. No one should ever condone this kind of behavior, and no company deserves to stay open mocking and disrespecting people of color. This is supposed to be pride friendly on top of that, but mocks and judges people of color? If the OWNER and the EMPLOYEE can mimick and judge people just for the color of their skin, what do you think he also mocks? It’s distasteful and ignorant. The kind of world we live in gets nastier every day.
I would like to start off with the DJ the club will have more life if the dj would play club music and trance music I left cause music sucks
They are two people at entrance, a guy and an old lady. The guy behind the desk is very nice, but the old lady is rude. She accused us of skipping the line and yelled at us. We did not skip the line. Actually, some people behind us did skip the line, but she did not say anything to them!. I asked to speak to management because of how freaking rude she was. The manager was one-sided and lacked customer service training as well. I explained to him the situation, but he said, “Ok, what do you want me to do.” Even at Walmart, you get treated better by customer service. What I want you to do is to train your employees and teach them how to respect customers.Customers and bartenders are cool and chill! Just avoid that old lady at the entrance and don’t ask to speak to management because they don’t care! After all, I will only visit this place once a moon now!
This bar looked awesome, but unfortunately they allow indoor smoking and it smells AWFUL. I was excited to go here with my friends but we had to leave because it’s not worth the discomfort and health hazard. Please get with the times! :(
I rated it 5 stars for the memories that I have of this place. Use to in the mid to early 90s you had to line up to get in. This was the gay bar that was full of life. Now that being gay is more socially weaved in the fabric of our society and gay people feel more comfortable mixing in with society it just a empty place with many memories of great time and parties that lasted into the night.
The Bartender upstairs was rude for no reason. Instead of handing me my change after I just tipped more than my drink was worth, decided to set my money in soaking alcohol instead of hand it to me!!? (took everything in me not to grab that tip right back). won’t be back here.
This place can be really fun only thing I miss is the Gogó boyz and wish there was a designated smoking area possibly upstairs because there’s always smoke in people faces for a club it feels like it’s way to bright ! An update to the Music would be great. But other than that staff is friendly and can be a really safe space
It used to be really fun going here but there’s been a massive influx of straight people that ogle queer patrons. Not to mention they’re playing cotton eye joe and terrible songs 😭 where did the good music go?
Always fun to visit with friends. Great music and atmosphere. Spacious and easy to find parking. Cocktails are a 5/10 though
There was a person who fell and was gravely injured. Owner called the ambulance with reluctance and when the request was made to turn music and light to help said injured person, owner then sighed, rolled eyes and said I guess. Horrible place. Would never return. Dont go if you want a good time.
I love the vibe when you’re with friends but the playlist seriously needs some updates, a little diversity with some newer music could go a long way. The same few songs over and over gets boring and tends to just drive people away.
All I have to say is management doesnt care about the safety of the people that go there. I witnessed unwarranted harassment and when we went to all the management they did nothing about it. I DID NOT feel safe here.
Its fun to dance there
Hey guys I was just here last night dancing with my friends and having fun My only mistake was leaving my phone by this counter show looking thing under the rail where the other people stand up.If someone can please turn my phone in the screen was cracked there was just some peoples drinks and the spot where my phone used to be this is really creepy Im starting to get worried that someones just holding on to my phone and keeping it.
Fantastic place until one of the bartenders decided to ruin it by making fun of me and deadnaming me
No one returns calls or messages on Messenger, although they send you a message that a manager will return your call. Terrible customer service.
No where else to go. Especially for urban pride.Every time we go the DJ play the same songs! Ugh Whitney, Selena and Techno BOOCan we please get more diversity with the music?
Bought 1 beer and they charged my card twice once for $10 and then again for $14 there is no contact number to call check your cards after going there cause it seems to me like the bar tenders are tipping themselves without your knowledge!!!
Very disappointed, the music makes a club I can say this is one of the worst experience I’ve had regarding music in a club the DJ came back from the dead to party one last time and it tells same 5 songs all night and wedding songs playing bro this is a CLUB not a reception. Will not come back the boom is way better than this place sadly it’s like the only place you can dance in Okc 🙁
Small club with top floor windowed vip section. It has two bars, stage, and dancefloor. The building has poor ventilation and smoking can make it unbearable to breathe. The drinks are poorly made, small portion size, and expensive.
Awesome, friendly environment! Total dance vibes going on here if you wanna get a move on people! Drinks are off the chain. Can’t wait to visit again
Nice Bartenders .. Great Dance Floor .. Great Drag Shows .. Excellent Music Old And New .. Beautiful Individuals .. Delicious Drinks .. Ice Cold Beer .. Comfortable Chairs .. Great Light System .. Excellent Heat & Air Conditioning .. Big Parking Lot With Lights
Weekends are always crazy fun and wednesday night karaoke is always a hit too! super sweet staff and the best place to be yourself!
This is suppose to be where you can come and dance. Half the music you can’t dance too and not to mention people spilling their drinks all on the floor. That’s a law suit right there in the making.
Great place, good music, my wife love this place, the only thing you guys need to work on is the bathrooms, tooooo small bathrooms for tooo many people.
I love this place dearly but please god get a better playlist
One of the best clubs on 39th street now that its back open! Though, I wish they would just make the upstairs bar smoking only instead.
Crowded Loud Hot! (All good things in this context).
Large gay night club that is only sporadically open. Once upon a time this place was apparently THE place to be. Now its basically a rented venue used for special events.
Best dancing club in okc. Diverse crowd, friendly staff. I love Angles 💜
Terrible experience this weekend with my girlfriends... first time there an lthe security was being super rude and RACIST to the MAX!!!! #LA RAZA
This used to be the best club in okc but the new owners are running it into the ground. Its only open for events now...such a shame and waste of a great space.
Who do i have to pay to get yall to stop playing the literal worst music ive ever heard jesus christ
Great place. Great atmosphere. The best company
They only take “certain” foreign ID’s
Very cute clothes they have a lot of nice in events in Sarasota
The most magical place you will ever be in okc. My safest place.
Yall need to change the dj! Same songs yawn!
The same music always and not good mixes, different rhythms
The building is awesome. The sound is great....its just hardly ever open which is sad
They need to change DJ guy he play just 5 songs all night
Wish they change the music up it’s the same music every week 🙁
Rated on all the fun times and memories I have of the 90s!
Shame on these business owners.I didn’t feel safe here.
Fun and welcoming atmosphere for all
Love all of the vibes here! 🫶🏼
Wild.
I love this bar.
Mark is the worst.
Theres, uh stuff!
Friendly staff and crowd
Great place. Just wish there was more room. I absolutely loved the bartender with the black hair and tats. He was an absolute treasure! I didn’t catch his name though 🥺
Three grown white men in their 50s Employees Pushed grabbed and scratched me and my friends. We are all people of color keep in mind. My non binary friend was thrown out because we were in the Dj booth (open to everyone Door was wide open ive gone in there multiple times throughout the years) Im a woman and was doing the same exact thing as my friend, dancing in the dj booth, and my friend got thrown out. No one said anything to me besides doing the exact same thing as my friend. So i go outside to find them manhandling my friend They have scratches all over their arms I tried to get them off of my friend which turned into these 50-70 yr old men Grabbing and pushing me as well. They put their hands on women in this establishment and the Dj plays the worst music on top of everything. I just cant believe i had grown men put their hands on me i am a 23yr old woman. Men will never truly understand the trauma women experience in these situations. I felt in danger i felt my friends were at danger of the hands of these old white men that are employed. You need better protocol on handling drunk people. Once i am out of the building there is absolutely no reason for the employees to be man handling women or ANYONE ESPECIALLY when we were out of the building trying to leave . Why in the world did they have their hands on my friend to begin with? You should kick people out of the building and leave them alone to leave. Instead me and my friend was assaulted by the employees. i cant stress enough how unfair that is 3 men against 1 drunk girl .
The bar is very good. The service very good. But the music, oh God, not good. I come from Kansas. And I came to this bar for two days. Friday and Saturday and they played the same music both days. And on Saturday they repeated the same music twice...By the way, there is a lot of Latin music and the only one they know how to play is Selenas mix. Both days.
Excellent. I give it a score of 100
It was a unique experience, a calm, safe environment, I felt that it was part of everything, good drinks, good service, sharing among friends with a lot of human warmth, I took them all as friends that I wish to see again...angel, I will see you soon
